Almost every uniformed US Military ally has paraphrased an old Robert Heinlein line about US officers being so busy building & watching Powerpoints that an enemy with a rock would be able to walk up behind them & bean them in the head.

They had a distinct point, if you look at 2020 US CENTCOM power points on the ability of Afghan security forces to hold out after the US military withdrawal in the six months before the actual fall of Kabul to the Taliban.
