[ Canon ] #taekookau πŸ”ž [Minors DNI. ] Taehyung has been pining over Jungkook for a while now. Always longing, never confessing. Jimin gets tired of it. So, he grabs Taehyung's phone and texts Jungkook from his number. β€˜Meet me in the bathroom stall in five. Alone.’

Taehyung sighs, for the millionth time in the past hour, eyes fixed on Jungkook as he perfects his already perfect dance moves in front of the mirror. Jimin rolls his eyes. "I'm so done with you."
Taehyung turns to look at him, frowning. "I didn't even say anything." "Yes, and you really need to!" Jimin exclaims, eyes about to pop out of their sockets. "I'm tired of you constantly looking at Jungkook like that instead of just telling him."
Taehyung looks at Jimin like he's grown two heads. "Are you crazy? I can't tell him that." "And how else is he supposed to know?!" "He isn't!" Jimin sighs, throwing his head back against the wall. "I'm going to set him up with someone else, then."
Taehyung gasps, crossing his arms. "No, you wouldn't do that." "I totally would." Jimin warns. "Either you tell him yourself, or–" "I will." Taehyung says, but then sinks back into place. "Someday. Maybe." "That's it." Jimin says, and snatches Taehyung's phone from him.
Taehyung is startled, and he tries to reach out, but Jimin swats his hand away. He's fast, and he jumps out of Taehyung's reach, and opens up a chat window. Taehyung's eyes widen comically when he realises what Jimin is doing.
"Give me that!" Taehyung stands up, panicking, and goes after Jimin, but in vain. Jimin is already done typing, and he suddenly relaxes, handing over the phone to Taehyung.
"No, what did you..." Taehyung's trails off as he takes back his phone, and looks at the screen. There's a text sent to Jungkook from his phone, courtesy Jimin, which says 'Meet me in the bathroom stall in five. Alone.'
He glares at Jimin, seething. His heart is beating so fast and he doesn't know how to undo this. "How could you do this to me?!" Jimin just grins, and pats Taehyung on the shoulder. "You're welcome, and good luck."
"I'm going to make you pay for this, Jimin." Taehyung puts his hands on his hips, angry. "This is–" He stops talking when he hears his favorite voice call out for him, in a low, mellow voice from across the room. "Um, Taehyung hyung?"
Taehyung's heart lodges in his throat, and he feels like he's going to combust on the spot. He tries to come up with an explanation, or with something else to say – but just doesn't know what else there is so say inside a fucking bathroom stall.
As if reading his mind, Jimin smirks and whispers to him so Jungkook can't hear. "Just tell him you want to..." Jimin says, and then puckers his lips, as if he's about to kiss someone.
"You– I'm going to deal with you later." Taehyung warns him, and then turns to look at Jungkook. Jungkook is approaching them, getting closer and closer, and Taehyung still doesn't have an excuse.
Jungkook, in his black hoodie and sweatpants, wet hair sticking to his forehead, walks towards Taehyung. His eyes are wide and starry and his lips are parted, as if he's confused. And even though Taehyung is panicking, he feels himself relax a little as he looks at Jungkook.
"Hyung." Jungkook comes straight to Taehyung, and shoves his hands into his pocket. "Can you practice that part with me where we're back to back? Now? I want to perfect it." Taehyung feels his heart slip back into his chest. Jungkook hasn't read the text yet.
"Oh, of course." Taehyung nervously chuckles, and looks at Jimin once. "Of course, Jungkookie. Let's go." "Jungkook, I'm going to forward some notes Namjoon hyung sent me about the song. To understand it better." Jimin says. "Check your phone in a few minutes, okay?"
"Huh?" Jungkook asks, brows raised and lips parted. "But I'm going to practice with hyung now. I'll check it later." "Yeah." Taehyung grabs Jungkook's arm, and starts to pull him towards the mirror. "See you later, Jimin."
As they start to walk away, Taehyung has just one goal on his mind. He needs to somehow delete the text before Jungkook can read it. As they approach the mirror, he spots Jungkook's phone on the floor. He starts to think of ways in which he can get access to Jungkook's phone.
His eyes stay fixed on Jungkook's phone, as his brain tries hard to come up with something. "The new back cover is cool, isn't it?" Jungkook grins, when he catches Taehyung looking. "I got one for you too, it's in my bag."
Taehyung snaps his eyes away to look at Jungkook, butterflies fluttering inside his chest. Jungkook always keeps doing these sweet things for him and it just doesn't help his case. "Yeah? Thanks." Taehyung smiles. "Can I see? Your phone?"
"Sure." Jungkook says, smiling. Taehyung smiles back, relieved, and is about to reach out for Jungkook's phone, when Jungkook grabs his wrist and turns him around to face himself. "After we finish practice."
And Taehyung frowns, uncertain what is more intense. The disappointment of not being able to access Jungkook's phone yet, or the way his skin feels heated where Jungkook touches his wrist. "But..." Taehyung begins, frowning.
"Nope." Jungkook shakes his head, and pulls Taehyung into position. "Let's practice first, and you can see my phone later. Come on." Taehyung rolls his eyes. "Stop acting like you're the hyung."
Jungkook heartily laughs at that, throwing his head back, and Taehyung sighs at the view. Even the most basic of actions are a sight to behold when Jungkook does them. "Yeah?" Jungkook raises his brows. "Why do you let me, then?"
Taehyung suddenly feels a blush creep up his cheeks, and waves Jungkook's words off. "Do you want to practice, or not?" Jungkook nods, and kneels down. "Let's take it from here. Come here."
Taehyung bites his lips – this specific part of the dance always makes his heart race, because they're so close together. Their backs completely touch, and Taehyung gets to support Jungkook's body weight for a bit. He takes steps towards Jungkook, and crouches down.
The moment he feels Jungkook's body press against his, he feels like a whole zoo is activated inside his body. He extends his left arm backwards to hold Jungkook by the waist.
He feels Jungkook's head roll back, and he rises, putting his weight on Taehyung. It also reminds Taehyung of how much Jungkook trusts him, and he immediately feels bad about trying to sneakily delete that text from Jungkook's phone.
On one hand, he defends himself by saying that it wasn't his doing at all. But then again, he doesn't want to lie to get access to Jungkook's phone.
Suddenly, he feels all movement stop. Confused, he turns his head. "Hyung." Jungkook says, body leaning against Taehyung's and head rolling from side to side across his neck. He chuckles, and the sound is like music to Taehyung's ears. "This is fun."
Taehyung gets goosebumps all over his body from the movement – from the way Jungkook's soft hair brushes against his ears and neck. From the way he giggles. "You do realise that you have a lot of muscle mass, right?" Taehyung asks. "And that I'm bearing all of it right now?"
"You want to be the hyung so bad." Jungkook giggles. "Carry me, then." "I am the hyung!" Taehyung chuckles. "Seriously, get off now." Just then, Taehyung sees Jimin walk closer, look at him and smirk. And then, Jimin points at Jungkook and makes the kiss face again.
Taehyung glares at him, and gestures with his eyes to ask him to leave. But Jimin just grins and shakes his head. "Yeah, he's got a lot of muscle mass. Show Taehyung the power of your muscles, Jungkook. I'm sure he'd–"
"Ahndum– Jimin, Jimin." Taehyung starts to blabber, straightening up. Jungkook has to get off, confused. "Jimin. Don't you have that...that thing–" "What thing?" Jimin smiles. "Let us practice!" Jungkook says. "Shut up, you were giggling and rolling your head." Jimin says.
"Jimin!" Taehyung exclaims, and looks at him angrily. He pleads with his eyes, and finally, it seems to work. "Fine." Jimin rolls his eyes, and turns around. As he starts to walk away, he speaks. "Don't tell me I didn't try to help you."
At that, Jungkook looks at Taehyung, concerned. "Hyung? What help? Are you okay?" Taehyung sighs. "Yes, Jungkookie. I'm fine. Don't worry about what he said."
Jungkook grabs Taehyung's shoulder, and massages it gently as he nods. "Okay." And Taehyung tries to act like the touch doesn't affect him, but he has to hold in a squeal. Perhaps this is a normal comforting gesture to Jungkook, but to Taehyung, it makes his heart explode.
He turns to look at Jungkook, and for a second, he lets it show in his eyes. But immediately after, he smiles again like it's very, very normal. "Want to get some food?" Jungkook smiles, eyes soft. "I'm so hungry."
Taehyung nods back. He needs some time to think about what to do. "Yeah, let's go." They get up, and dust their pants. Jungkook grabs his phone, and hands it over to Taehyung. "Here."
Taehyung looks up at him, confused. "Hmm?" "You said you wanted to see?" Jungkook shrugs. "Take it. Look at it."
As Taehyung takes the phone from Jungkook, his heart fills up with guilt. Jungkook is so sweet, so trusting, and Taehyung feels his heart ache. How can he take advantage of Jungkook's trust? He's never done that before, and he doesn't think he can now either.
Taehyung takes a look at Jungkook's new phone case, feeling the material as he feels something heavy settle on his chest. And then, Jungkook puts his arm around Taehyung as they start walking, and scoots close, making Taehyung lose the little sanity he has left this evening.
They walk to one of the lower floors of the office building, where there's food available for artists all day long. Jungkook hurries towards the table, trying to pick something out for him and Taehyung.
"Oh, hyung." Jungkook says, as he looks through several food packets. "Can you see if Jimin hyung texted me those notes he was talking about?" Taehyung feels his heart skip a beat. The chance is right in front of him.
His fingers hover over Jungkook's phone screen, as he readies himself to open the messaging app. He presses on it, and it opens up, and there it is. The message Jimin typed and sent him, sitting at the top, unread.
And then, there are a bunch on other texts – all unread, that catch his eye. He never believes the hyungs when they say Jungkook is the worst texter, because Taehyung always receives replies on time. But looking at all these unread messages piled up, he feels a little special.
"You have a lot of unread messages." Taehyung says, slightly blushing. Jungkook just shrugs. "It's tedious, having to reply to every message." Taehyung feels just a little brave. "You always respond to me, though." Jungkook chuckles. "Yeah. You're my best friend. It's fun."
Taehyung feels warmth fill up his heart. "You're my best friend, too." And he doesn't want to ruin it between them. Sighing, he looks at the message, finger itching to open the chat and delete it.
But it feels so wrong. He's between a rock and a hard place. He doesn't want to confess, doesn't want to lie either. Even if he tells him that Jimin sent it, more questions are definitely going to arise.
He looks up at Jungkook, who is returning with both his hands full of food. "Do you want to sit on the rooftop and eat?" Jungkook suggests. Taehyung laughs. "We aren't allowed to go there." "That's never stopped any of us seven before." Jungkook chuckles too.
As they sneak up using an elevator, Jungkook just says random things and doesn't even ask for his phone back. Taehyung has been unable to bring himself to delete the message, so for the time being, he's just slipped it into his pocket.
The elevator stops at the top floor, and the door opens. Jungkook grabs Taehyung's hand, and pulls him out as he rushes towards the terrace, and Taehyung feels a rush of euphoria in his veins.
Jungkook settles upon a spot where there's a few old chairs all lying around, with a little bulb overhead. He finds a switch, lights it, and places all the food on one of the chairs. "Sit! We're going to have a picnic under the stars."
Taehyung smiles, as he finds a clean chair to sit down. "But why did you suddenly bring us here?" "Because." Jungkook smiles. "Nobody is going to annoy us here." Taehyung rolls his eyes. "They all know this spot." Jungkook just shrugs, smiling.
"What?" Taehyung asks, heart pounding in his chest because everything feels so nice under the night sky with Jungkook here. Jungkook sighs.."I figured that here, under the stars is a nicer place to talk than inside a bathroom stall."
[ A/N : Good night LOL, maybe I'll update this tomorrow if there's a lot of people reading by then! Please let me know your thoughts, and thank you for reading. Good night! Stay safe, take care! ]
Hello, will be updating this now! Minors DO NOT read or interact and DO NOT follow me. πŸ”žπŸ”ž The rest of you, I hope you enjoy reading! Please let me know your thoughts via the QRTs. I must also add that there's some angst incoming, so yeah. πŸ₯²πŸ₯²
Taehyung's eyes widen, and he feels his pulse quicken. His heart throbs louder in his chest as Jungkook's words sink in. Jungkook knows – he's read the text already.
Taehyung shifts uncomfortably in his seat, his mind and heart both a mess right now. Jungkook takes a spoonful of ice-cream and puts it into his mouth, eyes on Taehyung as he waits for him to respond.
"You..." Taehyung begins, unable to meet Jungkook's eyes. He only picks at the fabric of his sweatpants. "You read the text?" Jungkook smiles a little. "It's right there, sitting at the top. Your chat is pinned, so I never miss anything you send me."
Taehyung looks up, surprised – he hadn't noticed that. "Pinned? Oh, wow." Jungkook shrugs. "So. Why did you want to see me inside a bathroom stall? It sounds so strange to say out loud."
And that's when Taehyung panics, and blurts out the first thing he has to defend himself. "But Jungkookie... I d-didn't write that!" Taehyung says. "Jimin did. He sent you that so that you think that I sent it to you."
Jungkook frowns at that, dissatisfied upon learning this new piece of information. "That's...weird." Jungkook says, taking another bite of the ice-cream. "But, why would he want me to think that you want to see me in private?"
Taehyung grabs a cup of ramyeon that Jungkook had poured hot water into a few minutes ago, and just digs in with his chopsticks. He takes a bite, slurps and shrugs. He's about to say something, when Jungkook leans forward and cleans the corner of his mouth with his thumb.
Taehyung stills, the chewing stopping for a moment because the gesture is so intimate. It reminds him of what he wants, and how it's so close and yet, so far. He begins chewing again, and swallows. "I don't know, Jungkookie. Maybe to talk."
Jungkook chuckles. "We always talk. About what, though?" Taehyung puts more ramyeon into his mouth, looking into the distance because he has no courage to actually confess. Even though he's looking away, he can feel those huge eyes on himself.
Taehyung figures that he has no way out of this situation. So he takes a deep breath, swallows the ramyeon, and turns to look at Jungkook. "About my feelings." Taehyung says. "I like someone."
Jungkook nods at that, aggressively digging into his ice-cream, his tongue poking against the insides of his cheek. His jaw clenches, and he avoids eye contact. Taehyung feels his heart turn in his chest, because Jungkook looks really angry. "What? Why are you making that face?"
Jungkook keeps nodding as he looks up, and his spoon is in the air now. "It's great and all, that you like someone, and congratulations and I'm going to help you get that person, but–" Jungkook finally looks him in the eye. "Why wasn't I the first person to know? I'm hurt."
Taehyung sighs, digging his chopsticks aggressively into his noodles too. "Because I wasn't sure how you'd react." Taehyung answers. "What?" Jungkook asks. "Why?" "Because... It's you." Taehyung says, heart in his mouth. "I like you. A lot."
It takes Jungkook a few seconds to process, after which, he responds in a low voice. "Oh." And then, neither of them say anything for a while. The silence is deafening.
"Do you want..." Jungkook begins, the air suddenly awkward. "More of the noodles? I can–" "Jungkook." Taehyung sighs, head throbbing. "This is why I didn't say anything. Now it's awkward and strange and... Just, can you please forget what I said? It's nothing. I promise."
Jungkook sighs, putting his ice-cream tub back on one of the chairs. "Hyung. I hope you know that I love you and you mean a lot to me. You are special and our bond is too, but..." Jungkook's voice is a little shaky when he speaks. "I don't– I'm not sure if I feel the same way."
And Taehyung's heart, which was already broken, shatters into pieces, although he had always feared this possibility and was prepared for it. But nothing could have prepared him for just how much it hurts. However, Taehyung doesn't show it – just nods. "And I understand that."
Jungkook buries his face into his palms. "Hyung, I feel horrible. I don't know what to do." Taehyung shakes his head, trying to uncover his face again. "Hey, it's not your fault. You're not obligated to like me back. It's okay, really."
Jungkook shakes his head. "No, I have always wanted for you to have everything you want and this– I just. Hyung, I'm so sorry." "Stop apologising." Taehyung says, louder this time. "We're just going to forget this happened, okay?"
"Are you okay?" Jungkook asks. "I know you're not. I just– I'm going to do something to make you feel better, hyung–" "Stop panicking!" Taehyung scolds. "I just– I need some time. After this whole discussion. Okay?"
Jungkook nods. "Are you mad at me?" "No, Jungkook, I'm not mad at you. Why would I be?" Taehyung asks, a little annoyed by Jungkook's panicked rambling now. "I said I just need some time. Can you let me have that? I need to... get over you, I guess."
Jungkook nods. "Okay. Okay, I can do that. Take all the time you need. And if there's anything else I can do–" Taehyung shakes his head, and even though he feels horrible right now, he remains composed. "Jungkookie, calm down, please. I'll take some time off, and I'll be fine."
Jungkook nods again, hands in his lap, and even in the dim light, Taehyung can see his eyes glistening. There's the sound of sniffling, and Jungkook wipes the corner of his eye with the back of his hand. "Why are you crying?" Taehyung asks, his own eyes watering at the sight.
He had been trying to hold it in, but watching Jungkook crying coupled with the situation makes Taehyung teary-eyed too. "Because I'm hurting you." Jungkook says, head hung low. "Even without doing anything. I'm sorry, hyung."
Taehyung stands up, and offers an outstretched hand. Jungkook looks at it, uncertain for a while, but then takes it anyway. Taehyung pulls him into a hug, and whispers into his neck. "It's okay. Don't blame yourself. I'll be fine." He says. "Just give me some time."
Jungkook hugs him back just as tight, and lets himself cry a little. "Okay." "We should get back to the dorm soon." Taehyung says, pulling back. "We leave early tomorrow morning. Let's go."
[ A/N : How is it going so far? πŸ‘€ Posting the second part of this update in a few minutes! ]
Taehyung sits by the window, Jimin beside him, trying to explain something with hand gestures. Maybe, he's apologising for the text message. But there's no way for Jungkook to know for sure, because he's sitting far from them, on the back seat, only eyeing them from a distance.
It's a mini bus that the company hired for them. Not that he had been hoping to sit beside Taehyung after the previous night, but it still bothers Jungkook how it is between them right now. Taehyung has been quiet and avoiding him all morning, which sucks.
Hoseok already asked him once if they fought, but if the way he isn't curious anymore is anything to go by, he figures Jimin told him. The rest must have also heard, too, and Jungkook feels awful. He just wants to comfort Taehyung but he is, after all, the cause of his pain.
But what is he supposed to do? Taehyung certainly has a special place in his life and in his heart. What he has with Taehyung is unlike anything else, and he enjoys his company so much. But liking Taehyung? Jungkook isn't sure.
The thought is scary – how much things would change if Jungkook had the same feelings. He doesn't want to think about it, so he just plugs his earphones in and looks outside the window, crossing his arms. But he can't help but sneak a glance at Taehyung every now and then.
He wants to sit beside Taehyung, make dumb jokes, make him laugh. He wants to talk about anything and everything – like they always do. But Taehyung seems so out of reach right now, and Jungkook absolutely hates it. He hates how he can't do anything about it, but wait.
They get off a few meters away from Naksan beach, right by a resort. It has been booked for the group, and after greeting some staff, they are on their way inside. As Jungkook carries his bag, he can't help but look at Taehyung again. He sighs.
Once inside, the members all plop down on the sofas around the center table. They talk a lot, but nobody addresses the obvious elephant in the room. After a while, they're informed that they can all rest for the day, and that they only have a photoshoot the next day.
They start to decide rooms, and obviously, Taehyung chooses to room with someone else. It seems like he just chooses at random, and is just trying to avoid Jungkook. It hurts a little, but Jungkook doesn't say anything when Taehyung chooses Hoseok and Jimin.
Jungkook and Yoongi are supposed to share a room, as are Namjoon and Seokjin, right beside them. "I swear, if I hear you play loud music on those damn speakers tonight while I try to sleep–" Seokjin says, eyes wide.
Yoongi shakes his head, a small, lazy smirk on his lips. "You don't need to do anything, Jin hyung. I'm going to throw those speakers away myself." Jungkook smiles weakly. He's distracted by something else, and not really in the mood to argue back.
"Stop being mean." Taehyung says then, voice soft and deep. However, he keeps looking at his phone screen as he speaks. "He just likes sharing his music with all of us." Jungkook feels a lump in his throat, but he can't even bring himself to say a single word.
Slowly, everyone disperses from where they've gathered, and Jungkook watches as they leave one by one. He especially notices how Taehyung walks away with Hoseok and Jimin in tow, not even sparing him a single glance. He frowns, a pout forming on his lips.
Eventually, Jungkook just picks up his bag and leaves the room, too. He needs to nap a little before the beach gathering they've planned for the evening. Maybe there, he can observe Taehyung a little more and understand better what he's feeling.
It's a little after sunset, when all of them start setting up a makeshift cooking area by the beach. The plan is to cook together and hang out by a beach bonfire, watching the stars while the waves crash against the coast.
Jungkook is packing in a stick of lip balm into his mini bag, adjusting his bucket hat when he overhears a conversation. It's Taehyung's voice. "I don't feel well, I'll just rest here. Maybe I'll join you guys later, but don't wait for me."
Jungkook feels his heart drop to his stomach, but he doesn't think he has the freedom to react right now. Normally, he would be trying to convince Taehyung to come along or simply just staying back with him. But right now, all he can do is sulk.
Jungkook bites his lower lip, pretending that he doesn't care at all. Like he didn't hear anything, and just picks up a bag that contains meat. "Let's go." Namjoon says, counting if all the other members are present. "Taehyung-ah, try to come if you feel better, okay?"
Taehyung nods. "I will, maybe in a bit." Jungkook doesn't look at him, but he absorbs the words like a sponge. He holds onto them, hoping that Taehyung really shows up after a while. Because otherwise, Jungkook is going to feel even worse about the situation.
He's already been feeling guilty, and now, Taehyung is not even attending a group gathering just so he can get over Jungkook. It hurts to even think about. All he wants to do is help Taehyung through the pain, but Jungkook feels like he's hurting himself, as well.
Fifteen minutes pass at the beach. Then twenty, and then half an hour. A whole hour passes, the smell of meat filling up the air as all of them laugh and chatter, but Jungkook only keeps cooking and sneaking glances at the resort. Taehyung never comes out.
He feels his heart drop further and further down his chest, something heavy settling upon it. Everyone says that the food tastes amazing, but Jungkook doesn't enjoy it much. He already misses Taehyung's presence beside him – it feels like a vacuum inside his heart.
Jungkook takes one last look at the resort, and sighs when he still doesn't see Taehyung. He quickly grabs a bottle of soju, a plate of meat, and sits down, eating aggressively as he faces the ocean. He hates how he's feeling right now.
Back inside the resort, Taehyung sits by the window, and watches the rest of them on the beach. His eyes always find Jungkook, who seems to be working really hard. Taehyung smiles wistfully, wishing he could go and give him a hug. But he has to let himself heal first.
He wants to hang out with Jungkook and the members so bad, but he thinks he should probably interact less with Jungkook for a few days. If it means getting over him and saving their friendship in the long run, Taehyung is willing to do it. He loves Jungkook too much to lose him.
He pulls up their group chat window on his phone, and sends a message. β€˜Please bring me some food when you're all done. I'll just eat here. Thanks. Enjoy a lot!’
Sighing, he gets up from where he's sitting by the window, taking one last look at Jungkook. It's a little funny, the way he seems to be facing away from the rest of them and really concentrating on eating. Taehyung softly chuckles, eyes watering once again.
He drags himself away from the window, and onto the bed. He puts his blanket over him, and puts his phone aside. He tries not to shed any tears, but the thoughts of Jungkook don't let him. Taehyung ends up crying himself to sleep.
It's probably just half an hour, or maybe twenty minutes later. Taehyung can't tell, because he hadn't even fallen into deep sleep yet. A doorknob turning wakes him up, and he wonders which one of them came back.
Turning his head around to peak a little out of the comforter, Taehyung waits to see who it is. For some reason, he hadn't considered this possibility, but Jungkook is right there, coming to stand at the door, staring right into his eyes. It's the most Jungkook thing to do.
It's the first time since last night that they're facing each other, and Taehyung completely turns around in his bed. "What–" He sits up a little. "Jungkook... What are you doing here?"
Jungkook doesn't answer him. Instead, he takes painfully slow steps towards Taehyung's bed. Hands shoved in his pockets, he approaches him, and even though Jungkook looks a little distressed, Taehyung once again takes in how beautiful he is.
Jungkook keeps getting closer and closer, his eyes never leaving Taehyung's. Taehyung feels his heart beat faster, especially because he went all day trying not to look at Jungkook. And now, here he is, refusing to look away.
Taehyung feels his heart throb loudly against his chest when Jungkook sits down on the edge of the bed first, seeming a little uncertain. As if he's trying to calculate whatever he's about to say.
But then, Jungkook simply climbs into bed and slips inside the blanket, lying down and wrapping his arms around Taehyung's body. The warmth engulfs and comforts him all at once. "You don't get to sulk alone." Jungkook speaks near Taehyung's ear. "Let me be here for you."
[ A/N : That's it for this update! Let me know your thoughts, please! Thank you for reading. Good night! ]
Will be updating now. And yes, remember that they've been friends for years and are very used to and comfortable with physical affection. Please don't take any of my characters' actions in the wrong way. JK here has no bad intentions, he held him close to comfort TH+himself.
I am still a little upset, but I really wanted to update it tonight, so. Minors please DO NOT interact or read and DO NOT follow me. πŸ”žπŸ”ž The rest of you, happy reading!
Taehyung feels goosebumps erupt on his skin when Jungkook holds him. It's like electricity shooting through his entire body. He sighs. "Jungkookie..."
"Hyung." Jungkook whispers back. "I know you're hurting and I just... It sucks to see you like this. All of this, okay?" Taehyung bites hard on his lower lip, eyes stinging from the tears that threaten to fall out.
Jungkook's warmth – Taehyung had missed this. For two people who don't even fight a lot, an entire day of trying to stay away was too much. He leans into the hug, and puts his palm over Jungkook's. "You'll just make it harder for me like this, Jungkookie."
And then, Taehyung hears sniffling behind his back. He frowns, chest hurting because Jungkook is crying. "I hate this." Jungkook says, voice breaking. "We've always been like this, haven't we? How can I suddenly just... Not be? I missed you so much all day."
Taehyung sighs. "I'm sorry. I just don't know how else to stop feeling that way about you." Jungkook doesn't have an answer. Only feels his heart sink as he digs his head into Taehyung's shoulder. "I'm sorry, too. I don't know how to make you feel better, hyung."
"It's not your fault. My feelings are not your fault, Jungkook." Taehyung says, and then grunts. "Just you bring nice to me and so caring and protective... It just makes it worse." Jungkook sits up at that. "How can I stop caring about you? You're my best friend, hyung."
The sudden loss of warmth from around himself makes him pout and turn around, even though he should resist it. Jungkook's eyes are wet, and he looks so upset that Taehyung for a moment forgets about his own worries and focuses on his tears.
He turns around in bed, reaches out and curls his fingers around Jungkook's wrist. "This is all such a mess. I should... I shouldn't have told you." "No, no." Jungkook shakes his head. "Who would you have told if not me? We share everything, right?"
Taehyung uses his other hand to cover his eyes. He doesn't want to cry in front of Jungkook. But hiding it from him is pointless. "S-stop crying." Jungkook says, sounding helpless. "I– do you want to eat something? I'll make it for you, hyung. Just, please–"
"You say things like that..." Taehyung sniffles. "And you think people wouldn't be in love with you?" Jungkook sighs. "Hyung. What if I try to love you back in the same way? I can... I can try, right?"
At that, Taehyung removes his hands from over his eyes and looks at him. "Jungkook. You can't force feelings like that. And you should never have to. It's okay. You aren't obligated to feel the same way. Okay?" Jungkook nods, head handing low now.
"Go now." Taehyung says. "It'll be okay, I promise you. Let's just limit our time with each other for a days, and we can gradually go back to normal." Jungkook nods, still sniffing. "I hope you feel better soon."
"I hope so too." Taehyung says. "I'll try to distract myself a bit, maybe. Let's see." Jungkook nods, and is about to get off the bed, but Taehyung's fingers tighten around his wrist and he stops him. "Jungkookie, wait. Just... Just one moment."
Jungkook looks at him, confused and expectant. Taehyung just bites his lips, and looks at Jungkook longingly, tugging gently at his wrist. Jungkook crawls closer, and stares at him. Taehyung looks up, eyes watery.
He throws his hands out, and Jungkook immediately sinks down into his arms, full on crying now. Taehyung rubs circles into his back, and tries not to cry again. "It will be okay." Taehyung says, pressing a chaste, gentle kiss to the crown of Jungkook's head. "I promise you."
Jungkook nods into the hug, his weight heavy on Taehyung's body but the latter doesn't complain. He internally dreads that he has to let go a few seconds later, maybe. "I don't want to let go." Jungkook mumbles.
Taehyung tries to lighten the mood. "You sound more in love with me than I am." "Maybe someday I will be." Jungkook says, and Taehyung can almost hear him pout. "Get off." He chuckles, teasing. "You're too heavy for my body." Jungkook lets go, frowning. "I'm going, then."
Taehyung tugs at his wrist again, feeling like an idiot. He bites his lower lip, heart racing in his chest. He just wants to allow himself this for a few moments. "W-wait." Taehyung says, nervous. "Maybe two more minutes?"
It doesn't even take Jungkook a second to dive right back in, wrapping his arms around Taehyung again. "We talk less from now on, right?" Taehyung hums, as he wraps his own arms around Jungkook's frame. "I'm sorry, I just need to do this for myself."
They're having a moment – a really emotional, bittersweet and painful one at that. Holding each other, wearing their hearts out on their sleeve for each other. Just then, Hoseok walks in, eyes landing on them almost cuddling each other.
"Oh!" Hoseok exclaims, eyes widened, and turns around. "Sorry, didn't mean to interrupt." At that, Jimin immediately walks in, eyes widening as well as a smile on his lips. "Whoa."
Jungkook slowly gets up, fixes his hair and his jacket, and moves away from Taehyung. "I was just..." "We were just cuddling like we always do." Taehyung scolds. "Stop teasing."
The rest of the hyungs walk in, too. Seokjin looks unbothered, Namjoon just shakes his head fondly, and Yoongi smirks – it's a knowing smile on his lips.
Jungkook slowly gets off his bed, and slowly walks towards Yoongi. "Let's go to bed." He grabs Yoongi's arm, and pulls. "I'm sleepy."
[ A/N : Going okay so far? What do you think is going to happen next? ]
The next day, all they do is work. They're very busy but still find time to make jokes and goof around on set – except two members. Everyone notices how Jungkook and Taehyung are quieter than usual.
Everyone catches them stealing glances at each other except those two themselves. "I shouldn't have sent that text." Jimin sighs, leaning his head on Hoseok. "I feel bad looking at them being like this."
Hoseok pats his head. "They're going to be okay. I don't think they can without talking to each other for long. Haven't you seen what they are like?" Jimin nods. "But I'm still scared. I just want them to be normal again."
Jungkook and Taehyung only interact as much as they need to, and the day slowly draws to a close as they finish shooting. They have takeout in their respective rooms this time, too tired. Jungkook is gorging on some noodles, when Yoongi speaks from across the room.
He's sitting with his legs crossed, mask hanging down his chin and a baseball cap hiding his eyes. "Jungkook-ah." He says, voice deep and full of concern which he fails to hide. "You know that you can talk to me whenever you're having a hard time, right?"
And Jungkook is already pretty vulnerable, and he knows Yoongi is always willing to listen. He sighs, setting aside the bowl of takeout. "Hyung, there's something that's been bothering me."
Jungkook tells him everything that happened since the text and the confession. Yoongi listens calmly, wordlessly, just nodding along to show that he's still tuned in and wants to hear more.
"Okay." Yoongi says. "And how does all of that make you feel?" Jungkook looks down at his hands, and fiddles with the comforter. "Horrible. I just want to be able to hang out with him again. It hurts. And seeing him sad like that – I don't want to."
"You love him." Yoongi says. "Of course I do." Jungkook says. "I just don't know if I'm in love with him." "Are you confused about the second part? Is there a possibility?" Jungkook's cheeks turn red, and he looks down, confused. He sighs. "I don't know, hyung."
Yoongi nods, and he intertwines his fingers together over his knee. "You know, Jungkook, it's okay to not know sometimes. It's okay to be confused. It's all a process." "What should I do?" Jungkook asks, in despair.
"Observe yourself." Yoongi says. "Observe how you feel. Make a note of what your first reaction or emotion is towards the things Taehyung says or does." Jungkook nods, looking at his hands again. "I guess I could do that."
"Nobody can answer those questions better than yourself." Yoongi smiles. "Now, put that fucking speaker away because I'm going to sleep in a bit." Jungkook huffs, making a face. Then, he lies. "I-I wasn't even going to play songs on it tonight."
Around an hour later, when the whole house has gone silent, Jungkook lies wide awake in bed, and thinks. He tries to remember how he's been feeling since Taehyung confessed. Shocked, guilty, sad, helpless. Desperate – to make everything okay again.
There's also something else he feels. The urge to be around Taehyung – especially after he's been trying to make some space around himself. Jungkook doesn't know what that feeling is, but it's not a good one. Maybe it's only natural because Taehyung is so close to him.
He tosses and turns in bed, unable to fall alseep. They need to leave early the next morning, and he only has a few hours he can utilise for sleep. They planned to go to a beach again a week later when they're all free, and Jungkook really hopes that things are better by then.
He's dreading the next few days, unable to stop sulking knowing that he's going to have to reduce his interactions with Taehyung for a while. But it's okay. He wants Taehyung to stop hurting. And if this is the solution to it, then be it. Slowly, finally, Jungkook falls asleep.
[ A/N : Okay, it might get a little more interesting from here. Are you ready for some jealousy? πŸ‘€πŸ‘€ ]
Jungkook sits on the couch of their living room at the dorm, almost curled up into a ball. It's been a few days since they came back – and is almost time to go on a beach vacation again, as planned. He's frowning at his phone screen, concentrating.
He's taken Yoongi's advice pretty seriously, and has been using his time apart from Taehyung to evaluate his feelings. He's actually making a list on his phone. They've been busy with practice the last few days, and it's finally a free evening, so he's getting this done now.
Him and Taehyung have spoken less the last few days – only when they're working. But the awkwardness isn't really there. There's mutual acceptance, and a hope to feel better soon. Sometimes, they smile at each other or ask for help. But mostly, they've been sticking to the plan.
It still hurts, but Jungkook keeps telling himself that it's going to be okay. Right now, he's currently looking something up on Google. With a pout on hid face and a frown on his forehead, he types in 'How to know if I like someone?'
He clicks on an article, and tries to match up a few points with what he's feeling. Some, he doesn't know for sure. Some he thinks are things he is feeling. Others, he refuses to believe.
"Am I jealous?" He mutters to himself, the pout persistent on his lips. "I'm not– I'm not jealous. Why would I be jealous?" He adds the following to his list – A little sad in his absence. βœ”οΈ Happy when I'm with him. βœ”οΈ NOT jealous. ❌
The shuffling of feet makes him look up. Taehyung is all dressed up, looking handsome as always, and out of habit Jungkook almost blurts out the 'Hey, where are you going?' But he doesn't. He stops himself just in time.
He bites on his lip and looks down, back at his phone, heartbeat suddenly faster. He's so curious, but he doesn't want to pry. Maybe a few days later, he will have the right to, once more.
"Taehyung-ah." A sleepy Hoseok walks in, and asks him a question wordlessly, just with the jut of his chin. "I'm going out with my actor hyungs." Taehyung smiles, and there's a glow on his face that Jungkook witnesses after days.
He wishes he was the one that smile was for. And that's when he remembers another point in the article – longing. He looks down again, and notes it down.
"You're close to them, aren't you?" Hoseok asks with a smile. "Yeah, very." Taehyung says, fixing his hair. "This is a much needed break. I know I'm going to have a great time. I'll get going now, okay?"
Jungkook chews on his lower lip, staring at the list. "Have fun, okay?" Hoseok waves him off. "I will!" Taehyung responds. Jungkook sighs. He hopes Taehyung has fun, but he wishes he was hanging out with Jungkook instead.
Jungkook spends the next three hours intermittently on Instagram. He follows each of Taehyung's friend from his private account, and today is the day he can finally put it to use. He refreshes his feed every now and then, hoping to see a story with Taehyung in it.
A story, a post, a video. Anything. Jungkook can't stop thinking about it, as he lies on the couch and stuffs his mouth with chips. He's sulking again, and the urge to talk to Taehyung just keeps getting more and more intense.
Jungkook shuts his eyes, keeps his phone on his chest and thinks. Why does he feel this way? Why is everything he feels for Taehyung a little different from what he feels for the rest of them. Granted, Taehyung is the closest to him, but is that explanation enough?
The possibility scares him. It overwhelms him, and he groans. He's still not sure, but what if? What if he likes Taehyung too? In a more than friends kind of way? Jungkook sighs, frowning.
He looks at his phone screen again, and refreshes his feed. This time, there's a post from Park Seojoon, Taehyung's friend. Jungkook's heart jumps in his chest at once.
It's a carousel of pictures, and the first picture itself has a group selca. Taehyung is right there with his Hwarang hyungs, and for a moment Jungkook only focuses on his face. He looks happy, and it makes Jungkook relax a little.
But immediately after that, he feels something lightly crush his heart. There's all these people around him as he slides through the pictures, some unknown faces – and Jungkook feels...strange.
He's happy that Taehyung is happy. He deserves it. But it hurts him because it's not him who gets to hang out with Taehyung. It's not him who's making Taehyung smile, and that upsets him a little. He feels a little left out of Taehyung's life.
And Jungkook feels something simmering in his chest. What if Taehyung starts to hang out more and more with them and finds a new best friend? What if he replaces him? And as selfish as it is of him to think, what if Taehyung falls for someone else?
He mentally scolds himself for even having that thought, because that's the goal. He doesn't want Taehyung to suffer from unrequited love. But the thought of Taehyung's romantic feelings for him disappearing scares him, and he has no idea why. He shouldn't be thinking this way.
He feels envious of all these people that get to be, and– It suddenly hits Jungkook. He squeezes his eyes shut at the realisation, and buries his head in his hand. "Fuck."
Pulling up the notes app again, Jungkook changes one of the points. He presses backspace until the sentence is erased, and then makes a correction in his list – 'Okay, maybe I'm a little jealous. βœ”οΈ'
The door opens, and everyone else is asleep but Jungkook, and hence he's the one Taehyung sees as soon as he walks in. Jungkook's heart freezes in his chest. "Oh, Jungkook." Taehyung says, voice soft. "You're still up."
[ A/N : And if I stop here? Hehe. ]
Jungkook quickly locks his phone screen, and sits upright. He wasn't expecting Taehyung to speak to him directly right after he came home. But, Taehyung looks so happy and relaxed. "Y-yeah, I was just going to go sleep." Jungkook says, face flushed. "Um, did you have fun?"
Taehyung nods. "I had so much fun. I feel a lot better now, you know. And, Jungkook?" "Y-yeah?" Jungkook looks up, and gulps. It's so overwhelming. Everything is overwhelming. "Thanks for giving me space." Taehyung smiles.
Jungkook's eyes widen a little. "Oh, that. Yeah, it's totally cool." Taehyung nods. "You're okay, right?" Jungkook nods. "Yeah, we're good." Taehyung smiles, and scratches his nose. "Um, did you eat already?"
That brings Jungkook's attention to his stomach which has been rumbling. He was so busy stalking people's Instagram that he didn't eat proper dinner. "Uhm, not really." Taehyung pulls out a takeout bowl of his bag. "The restaurant had this dish, and I thought you would love it."
Jungkook feels his throat choke up, and his lips quiver a little. "For me?" Taehyung smiles, but Jungkook can see the pain he hides behind it. "It's okay, right?" Jungkook jumps up from where he is sitting, walks up to Taehyung and takes the bowl from his hand. "Of course."
Taehyung smiles, a little relieved. "I'm sorry about things were the last few days." "Me too. I don't like it at all." Jungkook says, unwrapping the box. "D-do you want to eat, too?"
"Are you sure?" Taehyung asks, biting on his lip. "You didn't have dinner, and I already ate–" "I'm sure." Jungkook says, certain. "Okay. But there's one set of chopsticks." "It's okay. We do share chopsticks, sometimes."
Both of them sit down on the couch, awkwardly looking at the bowl in Jungkook's hand. Instead of tasting it himself first, Jungkook picks up some rice, and stretches his hand towards Taehyung's mouth, first.
And Taehyung sees something in his eyes that makes his heart skip a beat. It's something familiar, and Taehyung doesn't know how to react. He stupidly opens his mouth, and lets Jungkook feed him, as he keeps looking at those huge, starry eyes and the emotion in them.
"Jungkookie..." Taehyung says, mouth full of rice. "Are you okay?" Jungkook sighs, nodding. "I've just... Been thinking." "About what?" Jungkook shakes his head. "Let's talk about you. Are you okay now?"
Taehyung's chest fills up with warmth. Jungkook has always been so sweet, and he never changes. "I'm a little better, I guess. Today helped." Taehyung says, and then teases. "Why? Miss me already?"
"Is it wrong to?" Jungkook asks, stuffing his mouth with rice so he doesn't have to answer Taehyung anymore. "I'm sorry that I took myself away from you, but maybe we can..." Taehyung shrugs. "Slowly start spending more time again? Maybe not all at once."
"Okay." Jungkook says, as relief and happiness flood through his chest. "Um, are you going to hang out with them again?" "Yeah, when we're all free. But it's hard for the whole group to meet up." Taehyung says. "Why?"
Jungkook shakes his head, just aggressively digging into the rice. "Wow, this is good stuff." "See?" Taehyung beams with happiness. "I knew you would like it." "We're uh, leaving for the beach again." "I know." Taehyung says. "I was one of the ones who suggested it."
Jungkook nods. "I see. I... I hope you're feeling even better by then, and don't miss out on any more group activities." "And you?" Taehyung asks, voice soft, eyes dripping with concern. His heart is beating so fast. "Don't cry this time, okay? Hyung will be fine."
The conversation goes better than either of them expected, and although they're not a hundred percent normal again, there is improvement. Both their chests feel a little lighter when they go to sleep a few minutes later.
The next few days, Jungkook notices Taehyung talking to him more and more. He smiles more, initiates conversation again, and doesn't shy away from being in the same room. But still, something is still missing. Jungkook still misses something, and he wants it back so bad.
With his new realisations about his true feelings, things have been a little more difficult for him. He doesn't know how to tell Taehyung after watching him suffer because apparently, he didn't feel the same way. But Jungkook wants to try. He just needs to be a little more sure.
This time when they travel to the beach, it's a car instead, and Taehyung is closer than the previous time. There's still Jimin sitting in between them, but Jungkook will take what he gets. At least he doesn't sulk like the last time, because Taehyung is opening up to him again.
When they reach their destination, everyone gets their own bags. Taehyung and Jungkook make eye contact when they try to retrieve their respective bags. Taehyung smiles at him, and Jungkook pulls his bag out for him so he doesn't have to. "Here."
Taehyung accepts it, a faint blush on his cheeks. He doesn't say anything after that. But Jungkook knows that he has to do something. Everyone starts to discuss their rooming plans.
"Let's just room like the last time." Namjoon suggests, and everyone agrees at once. Except Jungkook. He immediately feels that stupid jealousy in his chest again at the thought of other members getting to stay with Taehyung. He frowns.
Everyone makes a beeline for their rooms, and Jungkook feels the adrenaline rush inside his veins. He has to do something, and quick. And now that things with Taehyung are getting better, it gives him some confidence and hope, too.
Taehyung is looking around the house, when Jungkook gently grabs his wrist, and looks at him with his huge, soft eyes. Taehyung looks at him, confused, his heart picking up speed at the touch. "Jungkook?"
Jungkook gulps, but he doesn't let his voice shake even once as he voices out his request. "Hyung, can you switch rooms with Yoongi hyung?" Jungkook says, looking into his eyes. "Please stay in the same room with me this time."
[ A/N : I think that cliffhanger is good enough to end this update. Hope you enjoyed reading! It's late, and I should sleep now. Please let me know your thoughts, good night! ]
Hi, will be updating now. Minors DO NOT read or interact and DO NOT follow me. πŸ”žπŸ”ž The rest of you, happy reading. Hope you enjoy this update. Let's go!
Taehyung seems surprised at the words, his eyes widening a little. He doesn't refuse, though. Doesn't pull his wrist out of Jungkook's grip. "Oh." He says, looking at Jungkook, curious. "W-why?"
Jungkook licks his lips, nervous, but doesn't let go of Taehyung's wrist. "Reconnecting? We should...after the last week. I miss you." Taehyung seems to relax, and smiles. He nods. "Okay. Okay, I'll tell Yoongi hyung."
Jungkook heaves a sigh of relief, and his chest fills up with excitement at the mere thought of sharing a room with Taehyung. He's about to pick both their bags up, when Seokjin yells from the other room. "You can unpack later, come here and help me cook."
Leaving the bags where they are, Jungkook straightens up, and rubs his hands together. He looks at Taehyung, and they nod at each other before walking over to the kitchen.
"We literally just came here." Jungkook huffs. "Could have at least let us rest for a while." Seokjin points a spatula at him. "You're going to be the one finishing most of the food. Get to work, brat."
Jungkook mumbles something, before he grabs some vegetables and starts to peel them. Somehow, Taehyung ends up right beside him, and he instantly feels better – this always happens. And Jungkook wonders why he never realised it before.
But now that he does, it does entirely different, more enhanced things to him, too. Like his pulse quickening, or the feeling of giddiness that takes over him. He feels like he's floating on air.
"I can try and cut these vegetables up as Jungkookie peels them." Taehyung says from beside him. Jungkook side eyes Taehyung, and notices a knife in his hand.
Taehyung grabs one of the potatoes Jungkook just peeled, and tries to angle his knife in a way that makes it easy for him to cut through it. The angle doesn't quite look right to Jungkook, and he immediately panics.
"Hyung..." He says, hands automatically moving to grab Taehyung's wrist and hold them in place. "Not like that. Be careful." Taehyung turns to look at him, smiles, and gently flicks his chin. "Look at you, always acting like the hyung."
A faint blush creeps up Jungkook's cheeks at the words and the touch, and he just huffs out a nervous laugh, refusing to make eye contact. "I'm just–" Jungkook says. "You're just clumsy. That's what I meant."
Taehyung rolls his eyes. "I can handle cutting vegetables." Jungkook sighs. He can't help how the words leave his mouth. "Okay, be careful." And this is perhaps one of the reasons Taehyung is in love with him. Perhaps, one of the clues to him being gone for Taehyung as well.
Taehyung smiles, eyes still lowered. "We've got a long day ahead of us. We're going to cook, eat, hang out and then get to rest." Jungkook hums. "It's nice. All of us here. And this time, everybody's talking to each other."
Taehyung looks up at him. "It's not like we were fighting." Jungkook hums again. "Didn't make it any better. I missed you." "I know." "Please don't do that ever again."
Taehyung looks at him once more, sensing that shift again as he did that night he came back after meeting his actor friends. He doesn't know if he's thinking too much, and he doesn't want to complicate it. So, he shifts his attention to something else.
Picking up an egg that Jimin and Hoseok peeled and kept with several others in a bowl, he extends his hand out towards Jungkook's mouth. "Here, quick." He smiles, knowing Jungkook must already be hungry. "Before they find out."
And usually, Jungkook would grin and eat it at once. Right now, he looks Taehyung in the eye as he takes a bite, and doesn't let his gaze waver. Taehyung feels a chill run down his spine, and okay – there's definitely a shift.
He doesn't understand what's gotten into Jungkook. But Taehyung doesn't break eye contact either. He watches Jungkook finish the egg, bite by bite as he chews, until he's done. And then, there's a smirk on his face.
"What?" Taehyung asks, a little nervous if he's being honest. Jungkook just shakes his head. "I can't wait for us to be in the room together.", He says. Taehyung almost drops the spoon he's holding.
"Jungkook?" He asks, panicking a little now. "What?" "What?" Jungkook just shrugs. "We haven't properly talked in so long. I want to talk to you all night."
"Oh." Taehyung says, but Jungkook's tone leaves him feeling otherwise. And around half an hour later, when all of them sit down to eat, Taehyung feels that shift again. Instead of sitting next to him, Jungkook takes the seat right across from him.
They're usually always joined at the hip, sitting with no space in between them. But this – Jungkook right in front of him, not even trying to hide the fact that he's staring at Taehyung quite often – it's making Taehyung feel some kind of way. It reminds him why he's in love.
Taehyung pretends to not notice it, as he looks around and tries to engage in active conversation with each member as they eat and chat. But it's impossible to ignore the set of eyes that bore into his head – he constantly feels them on him and it makes heat pool in his stomach.
And finally, tired of acting like it's nothing, Taehyung gulps and looks in Jungkook's direction. Jungkook's eyes immediately find him. They soften, and Jungkook smiles, like they're the only two people in the room. He hasn't even said a word all this time.
Taehyung feels the heat creep up his neck, and he fails to hold back a smile. Nervous, excited and a little confused, he raises his brows, so as to ask Jungkook what's up. But Jungkook just smiles and shakes his head.
And just when Taehyung least expects it – when everyone's done eating and getting up, Jungkook comes and sits down on the couch beside him, no space in between them. Their thighs squish together, and the warmth travels to every end of his body immediately.
Jungkook uses chopsticks to pick up a piece of meat from his bowl, and holds it in front of Taehyung's mouth. "I cut these up for you earlier." Jungkook says, waiting for Taehyung to open his mouth. "Eat up."
Now, Jungkook has always done these little things for him. It's nothing new – these little gestures are one of the reasons Taehyung fell in love. But the way Jungkook is looking at him right now, or the way his voice is suddenly lower – it makes Taehyung's heart beat faster.
He opens his mouth regardless, and watches Jungkook feed him. And as he chews, Taehyung realises that while Jungkook helps everyone out, he only goes out of his way to do sweet, thoughtful things for him. Just him. Taehyung's stomach suddenly feels funny.
He's always known that they're each other's favorites. But right now, Taehyung wonders if he's getting ahead of himself because it looks like something way more than what he has been aware that Jungkook feels for him. His heartbeat quickens.
"Go unpack and take a shower!" Seokjin yells once again, and the members all move to their respective rooms. Jungkook takes his and Taehyung's bowls, keeps them in the sink and comes back quickly. "Let's go take a look at the room."
There's cheers erupting from one of the rooms, where Yoongi gets to have a separate bed. Seokjin on the other hand is yelling, because he has to share with Namjoon. "He's going to snore all night, I can't take this."
Jungkook and Taehyung chuckle on their way to their room. And neither of them is sure if they're nervous or excited when they see their own room. There's only one bed, and the room looks quite like a beautiful suite for couples.
Jungkook acts like it isn't affecting him in the slightest as he brings their bags into the room and sets them aside. He puts his hands on his waist, looking around. "Well. There's just one bed."
And Taehyung would have been cool with it, because they've shared a bed a million times before. But ever since all the recent developments he's been noticing all day, he's a little nervous. "Mhm hmm." He says. "It's fine, right?"
"Yeah!" Jungkook stresses on the last syllable. "I can sleep on the couch if you want." "No, that's okay." Taehyung immediately says, not wanting Jungkook to go through any trouble. "The bed is big enough, isn't it?"
"Yeah." Jungkook agrees. "It's going to fit both of us. We like to snuggle when we sleep anyway. And the weather is cold too." Taehyung just stands there, feeling like he's going to evaporate.
"I'm going to go shower first." Jungkook says, already unpacking some clothes and toiletries. Taehyung watches as he disappears into the bathroom. And then, he lets out the breath he's been holding. Is it just him, or is there suddenly too much sexual tension in the room?
Taehyung doesn't want to give himself hope for nothing. He doesn't want to let loose any feeling that he's been trying to suppress the last few days. But something about Jungkook is surely different – it's like he too knows that something shifted, and is acting on it, as well.
And all these thoughts and feelings are dangerous, because usually, Taehyung would just look at Jungkook and admire his body, maybe look away shyly whenever Jungkook would be shirtless. But now, as Jungkook walks out of the shower, Taehyung is completely losing his mind.
The little droplets of water dripping down his bare chest, or how his hair strands stick out while wet – the way his muscles move under his skin as he walks across the room. Taehyung has to sit in a funny way so as to not make the strain in his pants apparent.
Jungkook softly smiles to himself, satisfied, when Taehyung makes a beeline for the bathroom. There's probably still a good chance to save what they have, he thinks, and he's not going to let it go to waste.
[ A/N : How is it going so far? Also, please quote with your favorite pictures/videos of them staring at each other! ]
The evening is no different. As all of them sit around a bonfire by this beach location as well, this time, Taehyung joins them. And Jungkook has been glancing at him way too often, again. It's not helping Taehyung's case at all.
But as it keeps happening, Taehyung starts to accept it with whatever risk that's attached to it. He starts to return the glances more easily, and stares back in true Kim Taehyung fashion. He just wants to see if his instincts are right.
And they probably are, because it's not long before Jungkook is patting the empty seat next to him, and gesturing Taehyung to come over. Taehyung freezes in place for a moment. Again, it's not a new gesture, but the way Jungkook's eyes look is completely different than usual.
Taehyung looks around – everyone is busy laughing and sharing random stories. He slowly gets up, and walks around the fire to seat himself next to Jungkook. When he sits, Jungkook immediately turns to look at him.
"I'm sleepy." Jungkook says. "It's getting cold too. Shouldn't we all just head inside?" "But it's only been a while since we came out here." Taehyung says, heart rattling against his chest. "Y-you– do you want to sleep? Now?"
Jungkook looks at him again. His eyes roam all over Taehyung's face, land on his lips and then move back to his eyes. "No." He says, easily. "I'll go back inside when you do."
Taehyung gulps and nods, trying to keep his cool. He isn't going to force his feelings on Jungkook, ever. But if Jungkook starts to reciprocate, he will jump at the chance. And it seems like the chance might be here, finally. Maybe. He's so nervous.
Eventually, the members all start to get up and plan to head back inside since the air is starting to get chilly. Together, they walk back inside, and Jungkook rushes to his room. Before Taehyung can come in, he dives into bed, and settles inside the blanket. And then, he waits.
Taehyung seems to be busy talking to Jimin, as Jungkook can hear chatters from the hall as he waits. He sighs, impatient. He can't wait for Taehyung to be inside the room with him. He has no plans – he just knows he wants to be alone with Taehyung.
Finally, after what seems like an eternity, Taehyung enters the room and acknowledges him. He moves towards his bag at first, but Jungkook stops him. "Hyung." Jungkook says, nervous himself. "Aren't you going to lock the door?"
Taehyung freezes for a second, but then he nods, not wanting to seem fazed at all. He walks back to the door and locks it, screaming on the inside. He has no idea what's happening but it's exciting, and he hopes he doesn't come out of it disappointed.
Taehyung continues his skincare routine, and hears Jungkook sulk and complain in the background. "What?" He asks. "Nothing...just..." Jungkook says, loud enough for him to clearly hear. "Can you just come here already?"
Taehyung bites back a smile, feeling nervous and excited all at once. He washes his face, wipes it, and lets himself breathe. "Yeah? Why?" "Because I want to talk to you." Jungkook sighs. "And just.. come here. Talk to me and let me hold you. Please, hyung. I've missed you."
Taehyung almost drops his towel, his body suddenly feeling weak. This time, he can't even speak. So, he just sets his towel aside, turns off all the lights except the dim bedside lamp, and gets into bed, right by Jungkook's side.
They lie side by side, facing the ceiling in silence. And then, Taehyung speaks. "You...you want to hold me?" "Yes." "Why?" There's no answer from Jungkook.
But he doesn't have to answer, because he feels Taehyung's arms wrap around his waist and turn him towards himself. They're now face to face in the dark, their breathing the only sound in the quiet room.
Taehyung pulls him closer into a hug, throwing his arms around Jungkook's shoulder, and it doesn't even take Jungkook more than a second to return the hug. He holds Taehyung closer, just as tight. "When you were hurting–" Jungkook says, voice low. "It was hurting me too."
Taehyung takes the liberty to thread his fingers through Jungkook's hair, and pull his head closer. "I know, Jungkookie." "I don't want you to hurt anymore." Jungkook says, his breath fanning over Taehyung's neck. "I want you to be happy."
Taehyung sighs. Right now, with Jungkook in his arms, even if he's unsure what's going on – he feels happy. His heart feels a little lighter, because holding him close like this after a whole week of acting like strangers feels like a reward.
"Don't worry." Taehyung whispers. "Right now, I am happy." "You are?" Jungkook asks. Taehyung nods, caressing his hair. "Yeah." He says. "Because of you."
Jungkook seems to slowly get closer, breathing Taehyung in where his nose nuzzles into the crook of Taehyung's neck. Their bodies are practically entangled together, like they've been uncountable times before – but right now, everything is different.
And it's when they get really close that Taehyung feels it. A shy smile makes its way to his lips, and Taehyung wonders if it's okay to say it out loud.
"Jungkookie." He whispers. "I'm going to aak you something. It's funny and maybe a little embarrassing to admit, but it's just me. We're best friends. And you can choose to not answer, okay?" "Mhm hmm." Jungkook drawls, voice driving Taehyung crazy. "What is it?"
Heart in his mouth, Taehyung smiles. "Are you... Are you hard right now?" There's a pause before Jungkook shifts, and breathes into Taehyung's skin again. And maybe, he lets himself go a little. "Yeah." He says, voice sleepy. "Because of you."
[ A/N : Good night! Let me know if you liked this update, thanks for reading! ]
Hello, will be updating now! Minors DO NOT read or interact, and DO NOT follow me. πŸ”žπŸ”ž The rest of you, happy reading! Let's see how the story progresses.
"Fuck." Taehyung whispers, biting his lip and shutting his eyes. Taehyung was expecting Jungkook to shy away, groan or just go quiet. But answering, and with something like this? Heat immediately pools in the pit of Taehyung's stomach upon hearing it.
Taehyung breathes heavily into Jungkook's neck, and then, asks him. "W-why?" "What do you mean why?" Jungkook asks, and then shrugs. "Because it likes you."
Taehyung's lips twitch upwards at the words, body still feeling hot and heart beating faster by the second. "And..." Taehyung begins, thumb caressing Jungkook's skin.."Is that the only part of you that likes me?"
"What?" Jungkook pulls back at that, and sits up, eyes widening. "No, no. Of course not, hyung. Why would you think that?" "Then?" Taehyung asks. Jungkook sighs. "All of me." Jungkook says. "All of me likes you."
"Yeah?" Taehyung asks, heart pounding. "The normal like? Or like like?" Jungkook slowly lies back down, and wraps his arms around Taehyung's waist again. He breathes out on to Taehyung's neck, and speaks. "Which one does it seem like right now?"
Taehyung gulps, his body feeling like it's melting away in Jungkook's hold. "Really, Jungkookie?" "Mhm." Jungkook hums, pulling Taehyung closer until their bodies are pressed together. "Really."
"You're not playing with me, right?" Taehyung asks, unable to believe the words that he's hearing right away. "Why would I even do that, hyung?" Jungkook lets out a frustrated sigh. "Look. I've been... I've been trying to..."
"What?" Taehyung asks. Jungkook sighs. "The past week, I realised some things which I wasn't sure about before. And I realised that I, umm– I like you too. I'm not kidding. Please believe me."
"I might just pass out from how overwhelming this is." Taehyung whispers, and brings his arm up to wrap around Jungkook's neck. Then, he buries his face completely in his chest, and lets a tear slip out. But he feels euphoric. He wants this moment to last forever.
"For real, right?" Taehyung asks once again. "You mean all of it, right?" Jungkook rolls his eyes. "I will pick you up and throw you off the bed if you ask me that one more time."
Taehyung chuckles into Jungkook's neck, sniffing and wiping his tears. "I don't know if you've ever noticed this about me..." Taehyung begins. "But if you do that, it's going to turn me on."
"Aren't you turned on already, though?" Jungkook asks. "Your stuff has been poking into me for the past few minutes." Taehyung immediately pulls back from the hug, and looks at him, teasing. "I'm sorry, is your body the only body allowed to react to us lying together like this?"
Jungkook whines, and pulls him back to where he was, securing him with an arm around his waist. "Stop talking." He says. "Just hold me and let's fall asleep like this. Your body is so warm. I've missed you so much."
Taehyung readily wraps Jungkook in his arms, nuzzling his nose into the crook of his neck. "Jungkookie." He whispers. "Mhm?" "Want to sneak out to the beach with me?"
Jungkook nods, his own heart fluttering. "I'll do anything you ask of me." Jungkook says. "Unless you ask me to go another week without you or something. I don't think I can do that again."
Taehyung's heart melts in his chest. He slowly sits up, takes Jungkook's hand, and tugs. "Come. Let's go." "Romantic late night walks by the beach?" Jungkook says as he sits up as well. "I'm in."
Taehyung grins, and pulls Jungkook by the arm, walking to the door and dragging Jungkook with himself. "Wait!" Jungkook stops him, grabbing Taehyung's wrist with his hand. "Hold on."
Taehyung looks on as Jungkook pulls two of his hoodies out of his bag, and helps Taehyung into one first, before wearing the other one himself. "It's chilly outside." He says, looking into Taehyung's eyes. "Don't want you to catch a cold."
And while Jungkook has always been caring, right now, after his confession, this just feels so much more special. Taehyung kind of wants to kiss Jungkook right now – well, he has for a while, but in the present moment, the urge is immense. He smiles, and shakes the thought off.
"Let's go." Taehyung whispers, and puts a finger over his lips. "Let's try not to wake the others up, okay?" But just as they sneak out, a very sleepy Hoseok, out for some water, spots them. "Oh, where are you going? To the beach?"
Taehyung and Jungkook freeze in place, the color draining from their faces. They exchange looks, and then Taehyung is about to say something. But before he can, Hoseok rubs his eyes, turns around, and calls. "Jiminie, do you want to go to the beach?"
They disconnect their hands, not because the others would ever mind, but because they're still shy about it. This development between them is still pretty new. Jimin comes out too, eyes still shut. "I was half-asleep already, but okay."
"Where are you going?" Seokjin pokes his head out of the door. "Oh, we're just going to the beach for a late night stroll." Hoseok answers for all of them. "I can't fall asleep anyway." Yoongi's voice comes from inside his room. "Me neither." Namjoon yells.
Taehyung and Jungkook look at each other, and sigh, shoulders deflating a little. But it's okay. Withing two minutes, all seven of them are outside, ready to head to the beach.
"Wow. So romantic." Taehyung teases, whispering to Jungkook as they walk behind the other members. "Well, at least my boner is gone now." Jungkook replies.
It's almost midnight, and half of them had already been sleeping, but they're extremely chatty. Their group – it's loud. They're all loud, and endearingly so. Jungkook and Taehyung intentionally trail behind a little, building their own little bubble around themselves.
When nobody is looking, they try to link fingers together, and stay that way until one of the members turns around to make sure they're both still present. It's funny, but also thrilling.
At one point, Jimin just audibly says to Hoseok. "I think they want to make out." And while it makes their faces go red, Jungkook and Taehyung relax a little. The members wouldn't mind, right? They're already used to them being touchy all the time.
Taehyung suddenly notices that Jungkook isn't taking steps beside him anymore, only to have him come up from behind, and wrap his arms around Taehyung's waist. Taehyung feels goosebumps erupting all over his skin. "Jungkook..."
Jungkook hooks his chin onto his shoulder, body pressed to Taehyung's back. "Mhm." They walk like that – slow, awkward and wobbly steps – but it's so warm that it makes Taehyung's insides flutter. A faint blush makes its way up his cheeks.
Taehyung bites his lips, bringing his hands to rest over Jungkook's. "They'll see us." "Let them. It's okay. They won't mind." Jungkook rasps against his neck. "Hyung, I want to kiss you."
Taehyung feels like he's going to need to hold on to something to just keep standing, so he's glad there's Jungkook behind him. He would just collapse otherwise. "N-not now. Not here." He says, blushing." "Oh. So..." Jungkook answers. "We can do it later? Somewhere else, then?"
Taehyung doesn't have it in him to look Jungkook in the eye right now, so he just stares ahead, letting the heat in his belly intensify. "You really want to...?" Taehyung asks, mouth a little dry. "To kiss me?"
Jungkook chuckles a little against his neck, leaving tingles all over Taehyung's skin and ear. "I just said that I want to." Jungkook says. "And not just on the cheeks. I want to kiss you on the mouth."
Taehyung gulps. "Stop talking, Jungkookie. You're making me all..." "I've been wanting to for the past few days." Jungkook says. "Every time I look at your lips, I feel dizzy."
Taehyung almost falls back against Jungkook's chest – and wait, they aren't even walking anymore. They're just standing there, bodies pressed together, as Taehyung lets his mind be blown away by Jungkook's words and how his feelings have come to the surface.
"It's okay." Jungkook says, lips twitching as he picks up on Taehyung's weight shifting onto him. "You can lean on me." Taehyung immediately straightens his body up again. "Jungkookie, they're all far ahead of us–"
"Mhm." Jungkook whines, and his grip tightens on Taehyung's waist. "So what? We wanted to come here just by ourselves, didn't we?" And then, he turns Taehyung around, and pulls him closer again. "Sorry it took me so long, hyung. But I know now."
Taehyung is almost about to cup Jungkook's face, hands already reaching out, when Jimin's shrill voice makes his eyes go wide. "Look, I told you they want to make out!" Jimin squeals, and they all cheer and chuckle. "At least get inside your room!"
Jungkook groans again, pressing his forehead against Taehyung's in frustration. Taehyung just chuckles. "Why do they keep doing this?" Jungkook whispers to Taehyung first, and then yells back to the others. "You know what? I am going to get inside that room."
[ A/N : Okay I think it's fair for them to kiss now. ]
The others just crack up even more, whistles and cheers thrown in amidst all the chuckles. They head back too, and Jungkook and Taehyung follow them back inside. Not paying any heed to the members teasing them, they simply say goodnight and head to their room.
As they step inside, Jungkook shuts the door behind himself, and locks it. He turns around, and stares at Taehyung who is standing a few feet away from him. In the dim light and deafening silence of the room, the sound of their breathing is very audible.
Taehyung awkwardly puts his arms by his side, anticipating. "So." Jungkook says, taking a step forward. "Nobody else is here now."
Taehyung licks his lips. "Uh huh." Jungkook keeps inching forward, making Taehyung go crazy with how painfully slow it is. As if to ruin the mood, Taehyung's phone starts to ring inside the pocket of his sweatpants. Jungkook groans again. "Give me that."
Jungkook matches forward and fetches Taehyung's phone out of his pocket. "No. Nope." Jungkook says, ending the call and tossing Taehyung's phone aside on the bed. "Not him. And not right now."
Taehyung gasps, mouth wide open now, but he's more amused than offended. "Did you just– who was that?" "It was one of your actor friends." Jungkook says, and then turns around. "Never mind. I want to sleep now."
Jungkook turns on his heel, rushing towards the bed and Taehyung knows that he's sulking. He's going to call back whoever it was later. For now, he immediately follows Jungkook, grabs his wrist and turns him around before he can climb into bed.
"What?" Jungkook says, eyes trained on Taehyung's. Taehyung cups his face, and looks back into his eyes. "Where do you think you're going?"
"To sleep." Jungkook says, slightly grumpy. "You should go talk to your actor hyungs, shouldn't you?" Taehyung pushes Jungkook's body towards the bed until he falls back onto it. Then, he climbs into bed too, and hovers over Jungkook's frame, hands cupping his face again.
Jungkook doesn't resist at all, but instead, maintains eye contact like he's challenging Taehyung to give him an answer. And Taehyung does. Caressing Jungkook's face, he says. "Stop being a brat, and let hyung kiss you. That's what I should be doing right now."
And Taehyung half expects Jungkook to whine again, or maybe play a little harder to get. But Jungkook flips them around in the blink of an eye, pinning Taehyung down on the bed, and sinks his face to press his lips against Taehyung's.
The first few seconds, it's just lips against lips, until Jungkook fully grabs Taehyung's face, and parts his lips. Taehyung follows, and slots their lips together, and when Jungkook darts his tongue in, Taehyung readily allows it.
The kiss turns heated immediately, and before they know it, Jungkook is completely on top of Taehyung's body. Subconsciously, his hips roll against Taehyung's once, and Taehyung moans into his mouth.
"Holy shit." Jungkook drawls. "I want to hear you again." Taehyung lets a languid smile pull his lips upwards, as he looks at Jungkook through heavily lidded eyes. He points towards Jungkook's crotch. "Then, maybe do that again."
Jungkook's eyes darken, and he presses a kiss to the corner of Taehyung's mouth. "You're so beautiful." Taehyung whispers to him, eyes chasing after Jungkook's form as he shifts. "I can't believe we're actually doing this."
Jungkook's mouth moves along his jaw, and down his neck, leaving kisses along the way. He presses his body closer once more, and grinds his hip into Taehyung's for a second time. Taehyung lightly moans, and it makes Jungkook want to do it again.
And so, he does. He bucks his hips into. Taehyung's as they kiss again, and the friction drives them both up the wall, even though they're still fully clothed. Taehyung breaks the kiss, and looks in between them, only to see tents in both their pants.
Jungkook follows his eyes, and smiles, cheeks turning pink as he looks up at Taehyung again. "Oh no, Jungkookie." Taehyung says, a glint of mischief in his eyes, and a fond smile on his lips. "We're hard, both of us."
"Mhm." Jungkook hums, eyes scanning Taehyung's face. "And?" "And..." Taehyung bites his lower lip, hands traveling down Jungkook's chest to his stomach, stopping at his abs. "Maybe we could help each other out with it."

Jungkook drops his face into the nook of Taehyung's neck, and hums. "Hmm hmm. Do it, then." Taehyung feels his heart skip a beat at that, but he manages to keep the smile on his face because he is really, really happy. "Okay, let's do it, then. Now."
"You go first." Jungkook whispers, brushing his lips against Taehyung's ears. "I'm... I'm a little nervous. I've never done this before." "Not even to yourself?" "Hyung..." Jungkook blushes furiously. Taehyung softly chuckles, hands moving down Jungkook's body.
They stop when he finds the waistband of Jungkook's pants. He slowly slides his hand inside, and then into Jungkook's underwear – and there it is. It's surreal that this is even happening. Taehyung tries to catch his breath as he wraps shaky fingers around Jungkook's length.
Jungkook lets out a low groan into his neck, and Taehyung strokes once. "Look how perfectly it fits into my hand." "Told you." Jungkook presses a kiss to Taehyung's jaw. "It likes you."
"Stop!" Taehyung giggles. "I'm trying to give you a handjob!" "Okay." Jungkook says, hands coming up to work Taehyung's pants down. "I, umm... want to give you one too."
"Go ahead." Taehyung says, voice breathy. The moment Jungkook's hands are inside his pants, Taehyung throws his head back, biting his lips because even a mere touch feels so good when it's from Jungkook.
"You're..." Jungkook looks down between them, and uses his other hand to pull Taehyung's pants down. "Wow. I'm even more nervous now." "What?" Taehyung looks back at him. "Silly. You have nothing to be nervous about. It's... us."
Jungkook nods, looking into Taehyung's eyes. He finds warmth and comfort there, and his nervous expression turns into a small smile. "You're right." He says, leaning down to press another kiss to Taehyung's lips. "It's us."
Taehyung's smile returns too. "Do you want to sit up?" Jungkook shakes his head. "No, I like it like this." He grabs a pillow, and tucks it under Taehyung's head. "Better?" Jungkook asks, and Taehyung nods.
"Alright." Jungkook says. "Going to take these off." Taehyung lifts his hips a little, allowing Jungkook to easily slide his pants off his waist. Taehyung does the same to him, and they're both pressed close then, skin against skin.

πŸ”žπŸ”žπŸ”žπŸ”ž
"Sorry..." Jungkook whispers, feeling too spent to even get up. "What? Stop..." Taehyung says. "What are you sorry about? It's totally fine. Silly." "Really?" "Yeah, I... like it." Taehyung says, and both of them blush.
"Oh." Jungkook says. "I'll, umm. Keep that in mind." Then, he slowly flips them around again until he's hovering over Taehyung. He looks into Taehyung's eyes, cups his face, and says. "You're so beautiful, hyung. I'm sorry it took me so long to come around."
Jungkook falls into Taehyung's arms, pressing a kiss to his neck. "Thank you, hyung." Jungkook says. "Thank you?" Taehyung chuckles softly. "I love you." "Mhm." Jungkook says, calculating, and coming to a conclusion. "Me too, I think."
"You think?" Taehyung frowns. "I thought you said you loved me." "Of course I already love you." Jungkook says. "But what I mean with this is... I think I might be in love with you, too, hyung."
"Oh." Taehyung says, heart pounding in his chest. He doesn't have the words to describe what he feels right now. So he just pulls Jungkook closer into a hug, and holds him tightly. And maybe, Taehyung falls asleep in his arms just like that.
Taehyung wakes up to see the bed empty beside him, and himself all cleaned up. There's a blanket over his body, too. He wasn't even sleeping on this side of the bed. He was hugging Jungkook when he fell asleep, but Jungkook isn't even in the room, now that Taehyung's woken up.
A sudden fear washes over him – what if Jungkook regrets last night? What if he was just being impulsive? What if he's gone because he wishes things had never escalated between them? Taehyung feels something strange twist in his chest.
He kicks off the blanket weakly and gets off the bed. Scurrying into the dining area, Taehyung notices each member doing their own thing in different corners of the room. Some of them greet him, and Taehyung greets back.
But they're mostly unfazed, and Jungkook's nowhere to be seen. They probably know nothing, and Jungkook probably has been silent since the morning, thinking about what happened between them the previous night.
Taehyung chews on his lower lip anxiously, as he makes his way to the living area, but on his way, Jungkook catches his eye. He's inside the kitchen, in a corner, working on something. Taehyung gulps, heart freezing in his chest. He doesn't even know what to expect.
He takes slow steps towards him, arms wrapping around himself in despair and uncertainty. He stops when he reaches right behind Jungkook. His heart pounds in his chest, but he speaks up. "Jungkookie..."
Jungkook turns around over his shoulder to look, and his face breaks into a huge smile. "Oh, hyung, you're up!" Taehyung feels the weight in his chest getting lighter within a second. He heaves a sigh of relief – it's a good start.
"You..." Taehyung turns to see if the others are out of hearing range, and then inches closer, dropping his voice a little. "You remember what we did last night, don't you?" Jungkook looks at him like he's stupid. "Yes? Am I supposed to...forget it?"
"No!" Taehyung immediately looks up, clutching Jungkook's bicep subconsciously. "That's... that's not what I meant. I just thought, I don't know... I thought maybe you were regretting it." Jungkook sighs.
He then drapes a careful arm around Taehyung's waist, pulling him closer. Then, he presses a soft, gentle kiss to Taehyung's cheek. "Hyung, why would you say that?" Jungkook says. "It was unforgettable, and really special to me. What are you talking about?"
"Really?" Taehyung says, voice small and eyes teary. "I guess I just... It's so surreal. Can't believe this is happening." Jungkook cups his face, turns it to himself and leans in. He presses a quick kiss to Taehyung's lips. "Believe it now?"
A blush creeps up Taehyung's cheeks, while there's some cheering in the background from the members. Yoongi yells. "Can you be a little less disgusting, please? Get a room, you two."
Taehyung covers his face with his free hand, breaking into a low chuckle. "Look at them not even being surprised." And then, something occurs to Taehyung. What is Jungkook even doing in the kitchen? He removes his hands, and turns to Jungkook. "What are you making?"
It's Jungkook's turn to get shy. "Umm, I was making breakfast for everyone but then..." Jungkook pulls a plate out, and there's a small strawberry flavored pastry on it, garnished with little slices of the fruit itself. "This is for you. For umm– us."
"For us?" Taehyung stares at it, mouth watering and heart melting. "Yeah. A celebration of us getting together." Jungkook says. "It's nothing huge, but I–"
"Shhh." Taehyung presses a finger to Jungkook's lips, and frowns up at him. "Jungkook. These little things – you know they mean the world to me." Jungkook smiles. "Hyung. I'm so glad this..." He points to and fro between him and Taehyung. "Happened."
"Me, too." Taehyung says, as he uses a spoon to cut into the pastry. He picks up a bite, and holds it in front of Jungkook's mouth. "Eat up." Jungkook readily does, nose scrunching up. This time, he feeds Taehyung a bite. "How is it?"
"It's amazing." Taehyung nods. And then, he thinks if he should ask Jungkook about them being official. Nervously, he starts to speak. "Jungkookie–" "So do we start calling each other boyfriends already or...?" Jungkook asks.
And Taehyung heaves a sigh of relief, and feels a rush of euphoria at the same time. "Yes. Yes. We should." Taehyung says, turning to face Jungkook and burying his face into his neck. "We totally should."
"Good." Jungkook says. "Yeah?" Taehyung asks. Jungkook buries his nose into Taehyung's hair and takes the scent of his strawberry shampoo in. "Yeah." Jungkook says. "Let's face all the ups and downs that come our way together, okay?"
"Hey, we're here for you too, brats." Jimin yells, offended. "It's not just the two of you, it's all of us hyung with you, too, no matter what." The rest of them start agreeing and cursing at the two youngest members as well.
"Were you eavesdropping?" Jungkook asks, eyes narrowing. The members, embarrassed and caught off guard, mumble something and go back to doing whatever they were.
"So, boyfriend." Taehyung says, almost teary eyed, sniffling. "Wow... it feels great to call you that." Jungkook wraps his arms around him. "Good for you, because you get to call me that all the time now."
