🩰🚒| „What do you want to become when you grow up?“ Six-year-old Taehyung hears that question a lot lately- from his parents, aunts and uncles, his primary teacher. It seems to be a very important subject- so he decides to ask his best friend that question, too. #taekookau

Jungkook looks up from their LEGO castle they have started to built during one of their regular playdates. He wipes his running nose on his sleeve. „A fireman!“ he says with a wide smile- his chocolate brown, doe eyes twinkling at Taehyung.
"A fireman?" Taehyung scrunches his nose and cocks his head to one side, thinking hard. „Isn't that dangerous? I am not allowed to play with fire.“
Jungkook scratches his head and looks confused for a second before a small smile lifts one corner of his mouth. „It won't be dangerous! I will grow up and be a hero, saving other people. I can drive with the big red fire truck and climb the ladder. It will be so much fun."
Taehyung hums and glances down at their castle. He grabs one of the figures, makes it dance in the palm of his hand. „What do you want to become, Tete?“ Jungkook asks and nudges his best friend's arm to get his attention.
Taehyung looks up at Jungkook, then back at his figure, dressed in a knight's equipment. „A dancer,“ he replies softly, hesitantly. He raises his eyes to watch his friend, waits for his reaction. "A ballet dancer."
„Really? That's so cool! I will come and watch you dance then!“ Jungkook says with a beaming smile before he stands up, pulling Taehyung to his feet. „You will do pirouettes and jumps- and I will cheer for you.“ Jungkook clasps Taehyung's tiny hands, twirls him around.
They both start laughing when Jungkook stumbles against the edge of the couch, almost losing his balance. "You will be the best ballet dancer ever, Tete."

ᴏɴᴇ |👨🏻‍🚒🚒 Eight months had already passed since Jungkook had completed the fire academy, since he had finally become a professional fireworker at the young age of 23- fulfilling his childhood wish.  #taekookau
"Hey buddy, how are you doing?" Jimin enters the fire station and sits down beside him. "I am good." "Yeah? Man, I am fvcking tired. I had a long weekend- if you understand what I mean," his colleague and good friend adds with a wink. Jungkook chuckles in return. "I know."
"Yeah." "Who did you meet this time?" "A gorgeous girl. Long legs, nice hair- I think it could be serious this time," Jimin says and grabs his boots. He looks up at Jungkook. "How was your weekend? Did you hang out with your best friend Taeyong again?"
"It's Taehyung." "Right, right. Taehyung. What did you guys do?" Jungkook stands up and stretches his arms out with a yawn. "We did nothing. I worked on Saturday and yesterday, I was chilling at home- just sleeping. I will check the truck now. See you later, buddy."
Jungkook walks inside the garage and climbs into one of the fire trucks, checking the radio and monitor. He yawns. He feels tired- though he had done absolutely nothing the day before- only using his feet to walk from bed to sofa to bed.
Taehyung had been visiting his grandmother over the weekend, celebrating her 80th birthday. Jungkook had been invited as well, but he couldn't change his shift and stayed home. He feels his phone vibrating in his pocket and fishes it out to look at the screen. It's his friend.
"Hey. Is everything alright?" "Kookie, hi. Sorry for calling. I know you are at work," Taehyung mumbles before sneezing into the phone. "I just wanted to ask if you could come by to my place later?"
"Yes, sure. Is something wrong?" Taehyung sneezes again. "No- well, yes. My laptop isn't working. Nana asked me to send her the pictures I've taken at the birthday party, but that stupid thing doesn't want to cooperate."
Jungkook smiles. He doesn't know a lot of people who are as technically untalented as his best friend. "I will be at your place-" Taehyung sneezes. "-around seven. Hey, are you sick by any chance?" "What? No. No. Did you forget about Nana's cat?"
Jungkook sighs. "Did you pet her?" he asks, though he already knows the answer. Taehyung loves animals. But the big irony is that his best friend is allergic to them- primarily to cats. It's just a light allergy, but he still shouldn't get too cozy with cats anyway.
Taehyung doesn't respond, but sneezes again. "You did pet the cat, right? Yah! You know that you shouldn't do that! It is not good for your health!" Jungkook scolds his friend and rubs his forehead out of frustration. "Why are you like this?"
"But she's so fluffy and cute and- you should have seen her, Kookie. She was meowing at me with her big blue eyes, purring right next to my legs. She was really happy to see me. How could I stay away from her?" Taehyung whines and Jungkook knows that he's definitely pouting.
"Happy my ass. You are unbelievable," Jungkook mumbles and raises his head when he sees Jimin comes walking towards the truck. "Listen, we will talk later, okay? I need to hang up now." "Okay. Bye, Kookie. Please, be careful today."

| TW: mention of dementia
It was already after nine when Jungkook arrives at Taehyung's apartment. His best friend is living nearby- only a ten minutes walk from his own place. "Hey, there you are. I thought you wouldn't come anymore," Taehyung greets him and opens the door with a wide smile.
"Hey." "What took you so lo-" Taehyung trails off, his eyes turn on Jungkook's forehead. He frowns. "We had an emergency coming in pretty late- but I promised you to stop by, so here I am," Jungkook says and tousles his friend's hair gently before entering the apartment.
"I am fvcking tired. I need to rest a bit before I will take a look at your laptop, okay?" "Sure, no rush." Taehyung follows Jungkook into the living room, his eyes are still fixed on his forehead.
Jungkook sits on the sofa and looks up at his friend. Taehyung is wearing a yellow shirt, which is too big for him, giving him sweater paws. His hair is messy- as if he has just rolled out of bed. His friend's expression is worried though. "What's with that face?"
Taehyung sits next to him and reaches out- gently cupping Jungkook's face with both hands to take a better look at his forehead. "I hate your job."
Jungkook is aware of that. They have fought often enough about this subject. His best friend had never liked the idea of him, becoming a firefighter for real. Taehyung worries a lot- so does his mom. "It's nothing. Just a tiny scar."
Taehyung leans back and purses his lips- obviously resisting the urge to say something else. He is Jungkook's best friend since forever, and he knows Taehyung better than anyone else. He can read him like a book. "What? What is it? Say it."
"It doesn't look like nothing. What happened?" Jungkook nudges Taehyung's pouting lips with his finger. "Are you sure you want to know the details?" Taehyung pushes his hand away. He pouts. "I thought you have to wear a helmet at work?"
"I did. Maybe something malfunctioned because of the explo-" Jungkook trails off. His best friend should be the last person to hear stories about the dangerous cases, he has to deal with. "Explosion? I seriously hate your job."
"I know." Jungkook takes Taehyung's hand, touches each finger. "Why are you so cold though? Are you sure you are not getting sick?" "I am always cold, Kookie. You should know that by now," Taehyung says and pulls his hand away. He gets up. "Do you want a beer?"
"Yes, please! You know exactly what I need," Jungkook says and leans back, closes his eyes for a second. The day has been exhausting. Taehyung comes back with two bottles and sits next to him again. "Here you go." "Thank you." Jungkook opens his eyes. "How was the birthday?"
Taehyung takes a sip of his beer and puts it on the glass table in front of them. "It has been nice- after I needed to explain to Nana who I am." "Huh?" Jungkook snaps his head at his friend. "What do you mean? Haven't you seen her only half a year ago?"
"I did. But apparently, right after my last visit, she got dementia, and my mom forgot to tell me about it. It seems not to be important to mention that your grandma won't remember you anymore," Taehyung says sarcastically and looks down at his hands- clutched tightly together.
"Shit." Jungkook puts his beer down and places his hand on Taehyung's. "I am so sorry, Tete." "It's okay." Taehyung glances at Jungkook. His eyes tear up. He clears his throat- probably trying not to start crying. "I am okay."
"Nana seemed to be happy- almost happier than she had been before. She forgot some bullshit that had happened in the past few years," Taehyung murmurs with a smile, but Jungkook can see a touch of anxiety behind it.
It breaks his heart to see his friend like that. Jungkook knows how much he loves his grandmother. He leans in to hug him, but Taehyung pulls away. "Please, don't touch me right now- or I will only start crying again. And I don't want to. It's okay. I am fine." "You are not."
Jungkook feels bad for him. "I am so sorry, Tae. I would like to hug you right now, but I respect your-" Despite his words, Taehyung suddenly wraps his arms around Jungkook, presses his body firmly against his.
Jungkook wraps an arm around Taeyhung and pulls him closer, rubs his back with his hand until he can feel the tension draining out of his friend's body. "You should have told me right away, Tae. Why did you keep it to yourself?"
Taehyung nuzzles his face into Jungkook's neck, presses even closer to him. "You had a hard week at work, and I didn't want to bother you on your free day." Jungkook curses under his breath. "Stupid. You should tell me everything right away. You know I am here for you!"
"I know," Taehyung mumbles and pulls away. A smile spreads on his lips. "You know what's funny? Nana has no problem to recognize her cat though. It is like that animal is defying the dementia."
Jungkook chuckles and reaches out to wipe a stray tear from Taehyung's cheek. "And still- you shouldn't have touched that cat." "I stopped sneezing. I am good now. She is really cute though! It was totally worth it." Taehyung grins.
Jungkook scoffs, but smiles at him. "Why are you like this, huh?" Taehyung shows him his tongue. Jungkook yawns and glances at the clock on the wall. "Where is your laptop? I should take a look at it while I can still keep my eyes open."

ᖴᒪᗩᔕᕼᗷᗩᑕK 🩰 It's Halloween. Jungkook loves this day and like every other year, he is dressed up as a fireman because he will definitely be one as an adult. He is sure of that.
It is the first time that they are allowed to go trick- or treating on their own, without bringing their parents along. Jungkook is more than excited about it. He walks over to the Kim's and rings the doorbell- hopes that his best friend is ready to go.
Taehyung's mother opens the door. There's something sad in her expression. "Oh, hi dear. Look at you. What a fine fireman you are," she says and puts on a smile that doesn't reach her eyes. "Hello, Mrs. Kim." Jungkook tries to look around her. "Is Tae not ready yet?"
She steps to the side to make way. "He's in his room. You should get him yourself." "Okay." Jungkook rushes upstairs, whistles happily. He freezes and pulls off his helmet when he hears sobs coming from inside of his friend's room.
"Tete?" Jungkook enters the room without knocking and his good mood drops at the sight in front of him. Taehyung is sitting on the edge of his bed. He is wearing a cowboy outfit- is crying into a pillow.
Jungkook closes the door behind himself and walks towards his friend- sits next to him. "What's wrong?" Taehyung lets out a heartbreaking sob as tears are running down his chubby cheeks. Jungkook's heart feels heavy with sadness- even without knowing what has happened.
Taehyung sobs again. "Tae." Jungkook's eyes fall on the trash can in the corner of the room. He gapes when he spots Taehyung's costume in there. A blue tutu and the black ballet shoes, which his friend loves so much.
"Dad came back from work earlier, and when he saw me in my costume, he-" A sob makes its way to the surface "He started yelling at me, saying that I am a boy, and boys shouldn't wear things like these."
Jungkook rests his hand on Taehyung's thigh. He hates to see him cry. It's making him mad. No one is allowed to hurt his best friend- not even his dad. "You love dancing. And you will be a great dancer one day- it doesn't matter if your dad likes it or not"
Taehyung glances at him with teary eyes. He lets out a shaky breath. "I won't." Jungkook clenches his jaw and glares at the trash can. "You will!" he snaps and stands up to walk over. He grabs Taehyung's costume and the ballet shoes.
"What are you doing?" Taehyung asks and wipes his nose on his sleeve, watching him curiously. Jungkook opens his backpack and shoves the costume into it. "Stop crying, Tete. I have a good plan."
Taehyung has a dumbfounded look on his face when Jungkook approaches him, reaching for his hand. "Come on," he says and pulls his friend up, causing him to drop the pillow he has been crying into. "What? What are we doing?"
"You should dress up as whatever you like. Don't listen to your dad- at least not today." Jungkook takes his helmet and places it on his friend's head before putting on the backpack. Taehyung blinks at him- tears are bright on his lashes. "What now?"
Jungkook reaches out and wipes Taehyung's tearstained cheeks before taking his hand in his again. "I will tell you later. Let's get out of here first." They head downstairs, say bye to Taehyung's mother and leave the house.
"Where are we going?" Taehyung asks and holds onto Jungkook's hand tightly while they cross the street. "We are going to my house first and you can get dressed in the outfit you want. We will take a picture of us and then we will finally, go trick- or treating."
Taehyung stops walking. "B-but my dad-" Jungkook turns around to face him. He squeezes Taehyung's hand. "Did your dad plan to go trick- or treating tonight?" "No." "Did he plan to go outside tonight for some other reason?" "No, he is watching the sports channel."
"Great." Jungkook flashes his boyish grin at him and pulls Taehyung along. "Then you have nothing to worry about! He won't see you. But we should skip the houses close to yours- just to be safe."
[ First part is done. I will update this whenever I can. It's mostly fluff with bits of drama/angst. See you ✌ ]
Ͳաօ 🩰 Taehyung has been in the ballet studio for hours already, practicing jumps and leaps across the room. He is tired, his muscles are already sore and aching. It's getting late and he decides to pack his things and go home. #taekookau
Walking out of the building, Taehyung almost bumps into Siwon- another dancer from his company whose father owns the studio. "Hi." "Oh, hey. You are leaving as well? Let's walk together," Siwon says with a smile.
Taehyung is a male contemporary ballet dancer, hired by a professional company. He loves his profession, though it's hard and painful. It hurts a lot- his feet and toes aching constantly. He would still choose dancing again-without any hesitation.
Taehyung isn't in the mood for chit-chat. He just wants to go home and get into his bed- preferably not moving for the rest of the day. But he is a polite person. "Sure. Let's go together." They head down the stairs and start walking towards the main road.
"So, when will we finally start dancing as a pair?" Siwon asks casually- as if he hasn't been asking him that question almost every day. Taehyung resists the urge to roll his eyes. "I didn't change my mind. It's still the same answer as yesterday, which is, never. Sorry."
Siwon groans in return and wraps his arm around Taehyung's shoulder, makes him feel uncomfortable. They aren't very close and he wants it to stay like that. "Oh, come on, Kim. You know that we would look great together!"
"There's no we, so you should find yourself another dance partner if you want one," Taehyung replies and tears Siwon's hand away. He doesn't like other people stepping into his personal space or touching him excessively.
There are only a few exceptions and his best friend Jungkook is one of them. The latter had been telling Taehyung for weeks now that Siwon w is hitting on him, but Taehyung isn't so sure about that.
Taehyung assumes that Siwon just wants to get more famous in the ballet scene by becoming his partner since Taehyung is one of the best in the company. "You are playing hard to get, huh?" "No. I am a solo dancer, and I will always stay one."
They stop at the pedestrian light, wait for the walking man to turn green. Taehyung can hear sirens before a firetruck speeds down the road- lights flashing. Taehyung gets that weird feeling in his gut he always gets whenever seeing firetrucks passing by.
Taehyung is scared that his best friend will get himself k!lled sooner than necessary while trying to save someone else. That thought scares him more than anything else. "It's green. What are you waiting for?" Siwon pulls him out of his thoughts, starts crossing the street.
Taehyung hates Jungkook's job. It's not like he isn't happy for his friend, who had fulfilled his childhood wish- he is. But he is also fvcking worried about him. Jungkook is probably the most reckless firefighter out there, putting himself in danger without thinking twice.
Taehyung follows Siwon and tries to think about something else- though worrying about Jungkook has already become a habit. He can't turn it off. "Do you want me to accompany you to your place?" Siwon asks when they arrive at the intersection in front of the park.
Taehyung stops walking and faces him. "And why should you do that?" "I am a gentleman. It is already dark outside and late, so-" "No, thank you. I am not a little girl. I am capable of walking on my own. You can go back to your place."
"Whatever you say. See you tomorrow," Siwon says and walks away. Taehyung hopes he won't see him. He needs a break from Siwon's pushy personality. His lower back starts to hurt out of nowhere and Taehyung hisses, knowing that he hasn't stretched enough before dancing today.
🩰
After Taehyung has taken a shower and treated his toes, he plops down on the sofa and grabs a book- though he is way too tired to read anyway. Only a few minutes later, his phone starts vibrating and he smiles at the screen. "Hi, Kookie."
"Hey. How are you? What are you doing?" Taehyung yawns. "I just got out off the shower. And now I am trying not to fall asleep before nine," he says and glances at the clock. "Are you finished working for today?"
"No. I need to work a double shift- Jimin is sick. But I am on my break right now." Taehyung hums and closes his eyes. His friend's calm and soothing voice could always lull him to sleep. "How was your day?"
"Boring. We had training, a meeting- no big emergency. But an elder lady called us to save her cat, so it-" "Really?" Taehyung opens his eyes. "Is she alright, though?" "Who? The lady?"
"No- the cat. Is she doing fine?" "Why did I even ask," Jungkook mumbles with a chuckle. "Yes, Tae, the cat is healthy and happy. Don't worry." "That's good," Taehyung replies and yaws again. "Good job, Kookie."
"You should go to sleep. You sound very tired." "No. Practise was hard today, but I don't want to sleep yet. It's okay." Actually, Taehyung wants to sleep very bad by now, but talking to Jungkook is better "How are your toes?"
Taehyung yawns again, tears squeeze out from his eyes. "Fine. I treated them earlier." Jungkook hums. Taehyung changes his position and lays on his side with his head resting on the sofa cushion. "How long is your break?"
"Fifteen minutes are left. Why? Do you want to hang up?" "No!" Taehyung is happy that his friend has called because now he knows Jungkook is doing fine. "Can you tell me a story?" he asks, resisting the urge to yawn again.
There's a beat of silence. "A story?" "A good night story." Jungkook scoffs. "Yah, who do you think I am?" "You are my Kookie." His friend chuckles at the other end. "What do you want to hear about?" "Tell me something about the cat."
ᖴᒪᗩᔕᕼᗷᗩᑕK 🩰 Taehyung enters the classroom- rather limping inside. His toe is hurting like mad- feet killing him. He sits in the last row, tries not to think about the pain. He had overdone it at the audition the day before- now hating himself for that.
Jungkook is late like always and enters the room together with the teacher. He sits next to Taehyung, eyes him intensely. "Hi, what's the matter?" Taehyung knows that his friend can tell that something is wrong just by the look he is having on his face. "Nothing- just tired."
Jungkook hums, probably not believing him. "You look like you are in pain though. Are you going to tell me what's wrong, or should I start checking for myself?"
"Let's talk later," Taehyung replies without looking at him. Jungkook grabs his arm and forces Taehyung to face him. "You are in pain, and you look awfully pale," he mumbles, his eyes scanning Taehyung's face with a worried expression.
"Mr. Kim, Mr. Jeon. Is there something you want to share with the whole class?" their math teacher asks- causes some of the students to turn around, watching them curiously.
Taehyung pushes the chair back and stands up. "I feel sick," he says and turns around without waiting for a reply. He leaves the room- his toe feels like it will die any second. "Wait." Jungkook follows him outside and catches up with him. "You are worrying me. What's wrong?"
"Go back to class. You can't afford to miss math." Jungkook ignores his words and stands in Taehyung's way. "You are limping. Let me take a look at your foot," he says and squats down in front of him.
"No- don't." Taehyung flinches. He is scared that his friend will touch his toe and cause him even more pain. Jungkook glances up at him with his big doe eyes. His expression is serious. "Take your shoe off and let me see."
Taehyung sighs and looks down at him. He knows Jungkook. The latter won't let it drop. "It's nothing to worry about, though," Taehyung mumbles and cautiously slips his foot out of his sneaker, hissing in pain. "Just please don't touch anything."
"Fvck. Is it your toe? Look at the blood on your sock! Are you serious? Why didn't you say anything?" "It's from my last audition. I-" Taehyung trails off when Jungkook grabs his shoe and turns his back to him. "What are you doing?"
"Get on my back." "What?" Taehyung shakes his head, though Jungkook can't see it. "Why? No. I can walk. I told you to go back to the-" "Kim Taehyung! Don't make me mad! Get on my back. I will carry you to the school nurse."
Taehyung groans because of his stubborn friend. His toe is hurting like hell though, and he decides to listen to him. "Fine." He wraps his arms around Jungkook's neck and climbs on his back.
"I can't believe that you are just enduring the pain! Why didn't you tell anyone- going to school like it is nothing, huh? It must hurt like hell," Jungkook nags while he piggy-bags Taehyung to the nurse's office. "Stop making me worry all the time, please."
Taehyung rests his chin on Jungkook's shoulder, nuzzles his friend's cheek with his nose. "Don't be mad at me. It hurts so much," he whines. Jungkook sighs. "Of course, it hurts, stupid. Why do you love to suffer so much, huh?"
"I wanted to show my skills at the audition -looks like I have overdone it." Jungkook mutters something under his breath when they enter the school nurse's office. He helps Taehyung to sit on the lounger. "Wait here, I will get her."
Jungkook leaves and Taehyung pulls off his sock, yelping in pain. Looking at his foot makes him feel nauseous. His toe is swollen- black and blue all over. He grits his teeth together and clenches his eyes shut. He is 14 years old- he can't start crying like a baby.
Jungkook comes back seconds later- without the nurse. "I can't find her. Maybe she's outside, smoking or doing some other bullshit. Why isn't-" He stops talking when his eyes fall on Taehyung's toe. "Fvck!" He leans down to look more closely at Taehyung's foot.
"It's okay. I am feeling better," Taehyung lies, not wanting Jungkook to worry. "I'm happy that you do what you love, but- this is fvcked up, seriously. You have to look after yourself, or you will have no feet before you get the chance to become a professional dancer."
Taehyung smiles "My toes will get used to it, I guess." Jungkook takes Taehyung's hand in his, locking gazes with him. "Yeah- but I am not sure if I can get used to see you in pain every time," he whines with a pout. "You are cute." "Shut up."
Շђгєє 👨🏻‍🚒🚒 It's Jungkook's birthday. He has been working since early in the morning and is now taking a break, eating his poor sandwich. The past hours had been pretty uneventful- no emergency calls had come in. #taekookau
Jungkook looks forward to a free weekend. He didn't plan anything special- just go out for a drink with some friends and visit his parents, eating well. He hopes his mother will cook something nice for him.
Jimin enters the room and leans against the wall, smiling at him. "Your best friend is here." Jungkook puts his sandwich back on his plate. "Taehyung?" "Yes. He's waiting outside." Jimin crosses his arms in front of his chest. "You didn't tell me that he's cute as-"
"Don't even think about it," Jungkook mutters and stands up, wondering why his best friend has come here. Taehyung had never visited him at the fire station before. Jimin laughs. "Look at that. Is someone jealous?" He steps closer and pats Jungkook's shoulder.
"Don't worry, bro. I am into girls. But you shouldn't let your friend wander around by himself too often. Other guys will definitely make a move on him. He's very pretty." "That is none of your business." Jungkook scoffs. "Don't talk about him like that."
"Alright- whatever you say." Jungkook sighs and leaves the room. He walks out of the building and spots Taehyung on the bench- a picnic basket is next to his feet. He is wearing a fluffy blue cardigan and his hair is styled back. He looks pretty. "Hey."
"Kookie." A smile spreads on Taehyung's face and he gets up to rush towards him. He wraps his arms around Jungkook's neck and hugs him tightly. "Happy birthday."
Jungkook hugs him back and holds Taehyung close against his body. "Thank you. But- why are you here? Couldn't wait to see me later, huh?" he asks teasingly. Taehyung leans back, only to press a soft, quick kiss on Jungkook's cheek. "I wish you everything that makes you happy."
"Thank you." "I wanted to surprise you with a good lunch. I know that you don't eat balanced meals during work, so-" Taehyung trails off and walks back to get the basket. "I got you something for today- since it's your birthday."
"You did?" Jungkook watches Taehyung curiously- secretly loving the attention he is getting today. "This is not your present, though. You will get that one later," Taehyung mumbles and pulla off the blanket, which has been covering the contents of the basket.
There's food. A lot of food. Everything seems to be self-made. Jungkook's mouth starts to water just from staring at his favorite meals. "Wow. This looks and smells so good." He glances up at his friend skeptically- knowing well that Taehyung hates to cook. "Who made this?"
"I did, of course! How can you even ask that?" Taehyung says in mocked annoyance. "Well- I got a little help from mom, but I did the cooking. She was just telling me what to do," he admits with a smirk.
Jungkook stares the food, then looks back at his friend. "Thank you so much! I hope that it's tasty, though." Taehyung nudges his chest. "Yah! It's made with much love. If it's not tasty, you should at least act like it is- got it?"
A smirk crossed Jungkook's lips as he grabs the basket out of his friend's hands. "I am just messing with you. I will love it. My break is over in a bit, but I will put the food in the fridge and eat it during the next one."
Taehyung smiles and fumbles with the hem of his cardigan. "Good. But don't get used to it. This is a one-time thing. I still hate cooking." "Got it." Jungkook eyes fall on Taehyung's hair. "You made an effort to look good today. Why? Do you want to woo the other firemen?"
"What? No. Shut up!" Taehyung says and punches his shoulder playfully. "It's your birthday. I just wanted to look nice, for a change." Jungkook chuckles and resists the urge to ruffle his friend's hair. "You look good. You always do." "Stop."
"Yah- Jeon. It's time to come back to work," Jimin calls and approaches them. "Bye, Taehyung. It was nice to meet you after hearing so much about you." Jungkook rolls his eyes. "Bye," Taehyung says with a smile before looking back at Jungkook. "See you tonight?"
"See you tonight." "Be careful, okay?" Taehyung mumbles and walks away. Jungkook watches his friend cross the street and turns around to head back inside the fire station.
"Are you sure that you two are just friends? You look cute together," Jimin teases and follows him. "Shut up. We are close. He is family." His colleague chuckles and wraps an arm around Jungkook's shoulder. "Yeah, I could tell that you are very close. I have seen enough."
Jungkook groans and pushes him away from himself. Jimin isn't the first person to say that though. Friends and relatives keep commenting on how cute they would look as a couple. Jungkook had never talked with Taehyung about that. They had just gotten used to it.
🚒
A hazardous waste truck crash had caused a deadly fire in the afternoon. Jungkook's unit had been at the accident scene as fast as possible, but couldn't prevent two people from dying.
Jungkook packd his stuff after they had arrived back at the fire station. He isn't in the mood to go out tonight. He needs a hug and a shoulder to lean on- he needs his best friend. Jungkook glances at the clock. Taehyung is still in practice, so he decides to pick him up.
The ballet studio is fifteen minutes away from the fire station. Jungkook parks his car in front of the building and heads inside. He sits on a chair in the foyer and waits for his friend while scrolling through Instagram- trying not to think about work.
After a while, Jungkook hears footsteps on the stairs. He looks up and spots Taehyung with another guy. He shoves his phone back into his pocket and stands up. "Kookie?" Taehyung's eyes fall on him as soon as they arrive in the foyer. He smiles and rushes towards him. "Hi!"
"Hey." "I didn't know that you would come here to-" Taehyung trails off, probably noticing Jungkook's dull expression. "What's wrong?" "Hi, I am Siwon, Taehyung's dance partner," the other guy introduces himself and stands next to his friend. "And who are you?"
"You're not my dance partner," Taehyung says while looking at Jungkook with a worried expression. "Are you ok?" "Can we get out of here?" Jungkook takes his friend's hand and pulls him along- ignoring Siwon. He has already heard enough about him, and he doesn't like him.
"See you next week," Siwon yells as they head outside. "I don't like him." "Siwon is- Siwon. He is pretty annoying, but that's it. But let's not talk about him. What's wrong with you? Did something happen?"
Jungkook lets go of his hand and stops walking He faces Taehyung. The latter's hair is tousled from dancing, cheeks flushed from exhaustion. His curious eyes are searching Jungkook's face for an answer. "Can you hug me for a second, please?"
The edges of Taehyung's eyes soften as he steps closer without hesitation. "Of course," he whispers and wraps his arms around Jungkook waist tightly. "You are worrying me though. Are you sure you are alright? Something happened, right?"
Jungkook presses his best friend close against his body, smells his familiar scent. Taehyung's hugs has been always making him feel warm and at home. "I am okay. Don't worry. There was a horrible crash today, and I needed a moment to process it," he mumbles into his neck.
Taehyung starts rubbing his back soothingly. "Sorry to hear that," he replies before letting out a long breath. "I am glad that you are doing fine, though."
ᖴᒪᗩᔕᕼᗷᗩᑕK 🩰 Taehyung looks up at him with big, curious eyes. "What's in there?" "Just open it!" Jungkook says, almost bursting with impatience. He can't wait to see his best friend's reaction.
It's Taehyung's 13th birthday and Jungkook has been allowed to stay overnight. It's already midnight and his friend is about to open his present. They are wearing their pajamas- sitting on his bed.
Taehyung starts to pull off the ribbon- carefully and slowly, causing Jungkook to groan. "Yah, just rip it off, will you?" "Don't rush me! It is my birthday!" Taehyung replies with a pout- still fumbling with the ribbon.
Jungkook is nervous. He has been saving his pocket money for a while to buy his friend new ballet shoes. Good ones. With quality. His mother had helped him to find the perfect shoes on the internet. They are promising to conform well to the shape of the dancer's feet.
Taehyung's current ballet shoes are pretty plain. His father doesn't want to pay a lot of money for a temporary hobby as he would call it. But Jungkook is always noticing his friend's hurt feet and toes- and he is eager to change that.
Taehyung finally opens the box. "Wow," he whispers. His mouth gapes in awe at the black leather shoes, eyes glistening. "I- I have seen them somewhere before. This is-" He trails off and closes the box again, shoving it into Jungkook's hands- his expression evasive.
"What? Why? What is it? Don't you like them? Are they the wrong size?" Jungkook asks him baffled- not able to hide his disappointment because of his friend's poor reaction.
"Return them!" "Why? Don't you like the style?" "Kook, just give them back, okay?" "No! Tell me what's the matter! Is it the size? The form? The color? Why don't you like the shoes?"
"Just return them and get the money back," Taehyung mumbles and moves to get up, but Jungkook grabs his arm, keeps him in place. "Yah! What is wrong? Why are you saying that? If you don't like the color, we can-"
"Kookie, please." Jungkook pouts and looks down at the shoes with a sigh. "I am sorry that I didn't get you something better, then," he mumbles unhappy. He can feel Taehyung's fingers under his chin seconds later, lifting his face to look at him.
"They are perfect. Don't apologize." Jungkook blinks at him in surprise. "You are confusing me, Tae! They are perfect? But why should I return them then?" "They are very pretty and the material is very good, and they look comfy but- how much did you pay for them?"
"What?" Jungkook scoffs. "What are you asking? It is a present. I won't tell you the price!" "But they are expensive. Look at them. I don't want you to pay so much for-"
"Are you serious?" Jungkook understands why his friend is acting like that. He opens the box and pulls the shoes out, placing them on Taehyung's lap. "Put them on! It's a present and it's none of your business how much I have paid for them. Try them on and keep them if they fit!"
"But-" "No buts. Don't make me mad!" Taehyung looks at him, then back at the shoes before getting up from the bed with a sigh. He puts them on and his face lights up instantly. They seem to fit perfectly and soon Taehyung starts dancing through the room.
Jungkook watches him with a growing smile. "Looks like the shoes have been always yours. And they are perfect for your tiny ass feet." Taehyung stops moving around and gazes at him with fond eyes.
"They should prevent your toes from hurting too much, so you should try to-" Jungkook trails off when Taehyung rushes towards him all of a sudden- throwing his arms around his neck to hug him tightly.
"I love them. Thank you so much!" "Good." Jungkook lips curve up into a satisfied smirk as he hugs his friend back. "Couldn't you have reacted like that in the first place? You made me feel bad for a moment."
Taehyung leans away and places a peck on Jungkook's cheek. "I am sorry. And again- thank you so much! You are the best-est friend ever! I will take care of these shoes and keep them clean!" "Happy birthday, Tete."

ᖴOᑌᖇ 🚒👨🏻‍🚒 Some friends has came over to Jungkook's place a day later- celebrating his birthday with cocktails and beer. His apartment is not big, but has always room for a few people. #taekookau
The highlight is the planted terrace though, which has a beautiful view over the old town. Some of Jungkook's friends are drinking and chatting outside, making the living room less crowded.
Taehyung has been staying at his friend's place since the early afternoon. He has helped to decorate the livingroom with some colorful lights and mixed some drinks- preparing lots of alcohol and snacks.
The mood is good- people are dancing, laughing and drinking. Taehyung is happy that Jungkook has calmed down after the incident at work the day before. He always worries about him. Despite Jungkook's tough appearance, his friend has a soft heart after all.
"Hey, how are you doing?" Jin approaches Taehyung and leans against the bar-height counter, which is connecting the kitchen with the living area. Jin is Jungkook's cousin and four years older than them- always wearing the latest fashion from head to toe.
"I am good, how are you?" Taehyung turns around to face Jin. "I am glad you could make it today. Kookie misses you a lot," he adds and glances at his best friend before popping a nut in his mouth.
"Sure. I couldn't miss my favorite cousin's birthday," Jin replies with a smile. He lives two hours away, not visiting often because of work. Jin had often spent his summer breaks with Jungkook's family when they were kids- the three of them hanging out together a lot.
"Are you staying the night?" Jin takes a sip of his beer. "No, no, unfortunately, I can't. Actually, I need to head back in a bit. We have a big family brunch tomorrow, so- yeah."
Taehyung pouts. "Ah- that's too bad." He would have loved for Jin to stay longer, would have loved to talk about the good old days. "Yeah, believe me- I would rather stay here than go there, but- oh well. My family will get mad if I won't come," Jin says with a sigh.
"But you're staying the night, right? Jungkook will probably need someone to take care of his drunk ass later," Jin adds with a wink. Taehyung's eyes fall on his best friend who is explaining something to Jimin while laughing. Taehyung smiles. Jungkook seems to be happy.
"Yes, I am staying. Someone needs to help to clean up the mess tomorrow morning." Jin pats Taehyung's shoulder with a smile. "You are a good friend," he says and takes another sip of his beer. "Kook worries a lot about you- you know that, right?"
Taehyung eyes him curiously. "About me? Why? What do you mean?" "Every time we talk on the phone, Kook starts whining because of you sooner or later. About your hurt feet and toes, and that you are overdoing it- he is basically pretty worried about your health and your body."
Taehyung shakes his head, though a smile graces his lips. "Unbelievable. I am always worried that he will get burned alive during one of his reckless rescue operations and he worries about me?"
"The two of you haven't changed at all. Sometimes I even think that you care too much about each other. That could be-" "Jin, come over here. Jimin doesn't believe the sauna story," Jungkook yells, obviously drunk already. His cheeks are pink, eyes slightly droopy.
🚒
It's nearly 3 AM when the last friend has left. The table is covered with stains, dirty dishes and bottles are everywhere. The living room is a mess.  Taehyung yawns. He has not expected that the party would last until late in the night.
"Tete~" Jungkook is wasted. He sits on the carpet with his back leaned against the sofa. "Come here." Taehyung puts some dirty cups into the sink before walking towards his friend. He sits next to him.
"Are you okay?" Taehyung asks. He can tell that Jungkook has too much alcohol in his system. He has not been drinking tonight- knowing that he need to take care of the birthday kid. He couldn't afford to drink right before his next performance anyway.
"I had fun today. Thank you for helping me to arrange everything," Jungkook says in a slur before resting his head on Taehyung's shoulder. "And it was so nice to see Jin again, right?"
"It was. It's a pity that he couldn't stay the night," Taehyung mumbles, getting tired by the second. The warmth of his friend's body is making him drowsy. "So- how are you feeling?"
Jungkook chuckles with sudden amusement. "Drunk. Tired." He yawns. "But very happy." "That is the most important thing. But you should go to bed now. If you fall asleep like that, I won't be able to carry you in your room later. You are a heavy baby."
"I am not a baby." "You are. Let's go to bed now." "No~ Stay a little bit like that, please," Jungkook whines and nuzzles his head into the nape of Taehyung's neck. "Tae." "Hmm?"
"I don't like that Siwon guy." "Hmm?" Taehyung is surprised that Jungkook is thinking about Siwon right now. "His dad owns the studio. I need to be nice to him. You need to be nice to him."
"But he-" There's a pause as Jungkook seems to lose his train of thought. "Why didn't you tell me that he's your dance partner?" Taehyung curses under his breath because Siwon tells that everyone- annoying him a lot these days. "He is not. He is just annoying."
Jungkook clasps Taehyung's hand with a sigh and laces their fingers together, settling their hands in his lap. "So- he is still bothering you, then? Do you want me to have a serious talk with him, or should I punch him in the face right away?"
Taehyung smiles. Jungkook is a cute drunk- not losing his protective nature towards him. "You are a firefighter. You need a good reputation- in case you have forgotten that little detail already," he says, his thumb caressing Jungkook's skin absentmindedly.
There's an unhappy grumble. "I could wear a mask, so he won't recognize me when I beat him up," Jungkook suggests in a mumble.
"You are drunk," Taehyung says with a chuckle, but stills instantly when his friend presses a warm kiss on his neck, causing his skin to tingle. "You know that I would do everything for you, right?" Jungkook asks and tightens the grip on Taehyung's hand.
"I know- and that scares me sometimes," Taehyung whispers. He's not sure if Jungkook has heard him or not. He clears his throat. "You should really go to bed now. You are talking nonsense."
Jungkook whines, but raises his head, looks at him with puppy-like eyes. "I will only go to bed if you stay the night." "We are already in the middle of the night, Kookie." Taehyung gets up and pulls his friend to his feet while keeping his hand in his. "Come on, big baby."
"Will you stay?" "I already told you that I will sleep at your place. You forgot." "Together with me? In my bed?" Jungkook asks while Taehyung tries to maneuver him into his room without bumping into furniture or other stuff, which is in the way.
"Yes. We are both going to sleep in your bed." "Yay," Jungkook lets out happily and plops down onto his king-size bed as soon as they enter the room. "Don't you want to go into the bath-" Taehyung trails off, noticing his friend's half-closed eyes. "I think you don't want to."
"Mhh." "I will go wash up and be with you in a bit. You can sleep first." "No. I will wait," Jungkook replies with a pout and rolls onto his side to face him. "Hurry up."
Taehyung is sure that his friend will fall asleep as soon as he leaves the bedroom. He changes into his pajama, washes his face and brushes his teeth. Taehyung is glad that Jungkook does always keep an extra toothbrush- in case he stays the night.
Taehyung heads back into the room minutes later and halts when he gets greeted with his friend's muscular bare chest. He is impressed. Jungkook's body is well-toned and Taehyung knows that it's a result from his job as a firefighter. He looks very good.
Jungkook is still awake, scrolling through his phone. "Are you serious right now? Go to sleep! It is almost four, Kook." Startled, Jungkook drops the phone on his face. He groans and rubs his forehead with a hiss.
"I needed to keep myself awake somehow, or I would have fallen asleep before you come back. What took you so long anyway?" Jungkook whines and places his phone on the nightstand- scratching his chest sleepily.
"Long? I was gone for ten minutes max." Taehyung turns off the lights before climbing into bed. Though it had been a while- it still feels familiar to sleep in the same bed with Jungkook.
As soon as his back touches the mattress, Jungkook is already cuddling up against Taehyung- wrapping an arm and a leg around his body. "Now I am ready to sleep," he mumbles, breath fanning against Taehyung's ear. "I am so happy that you are here, Tete."
"Sleep tight, Kookie." Taehyung tries to turn around, but he can't move because of his friend's arm that is securely wrapped around him. Jungkook has pressed his body against him like a human blanket.
"Okay- so that's how we are going to sleep?" Taehyung whispers into the dark, trying to sound sarcastic- though he secretly loves it. The comfort of Jungkook's arm and the warmth of his body makes him feel safe and secure. Taehyung relaxes into his friend and closed his eyes.
ᖴᒪᗩᔕᕼᗷᗩᑕK 🩰 Jin is visiting Jungkook during the summer break, staying at the Jeon's residence for two weeks. It's hot outside and they decide to go for a swim at a secluded lake, which is in the middle of a forest- their secret place.
Taehyung has joined them, though he will never jump into the lake. He fears the open water. But he brought a book and watches both cousins almost drown each other while playing around.
Taehyung has brought a blanket along and is sitting at his favorite spot on the small cliff- having a good view on everything. "Ready or not- I am coming!" Jungkook yells and holds his nose before jumping into the water with a big splash.
"Are you sure you don't want to try it, too?" Jin asks and sits down next to Taehyung. "It is so cool." Jin is dripping wet after he has climbed out of the water only seconds ago.
"No. It's too scary," Taehyung says without looking up from his book. "Come on. You still should try it. We are with you. We can hold your hand and as soon as you want to- ouch."
"Stop trying to persuade him!" Jungkook is suddenly behind them, smacking his cousin's head with his palm. "Why? I just want him to try it. It is so much fun," Jin says and looks up at Jungkook with a pout- rubbing the hurtful spot.
"Hey." Taehyung reaches out to grab his best friend's hand. "Stop hitting your cousin, Kookie. He just wants me to have fun. That's okay. Don't get angry." "Bothering you is not fun."
Jin scoffs and gets up. "Whatever. You two are boring," he mumbles before jumping into the lake once again. "Shut up." Jungkook sits next to Taehyung and wraps his arms around his legs, shivering lightly.
"Kookie, don't be like that," Taehyung mumbles and nudges his friend's pouting cheek with a finger. "Jin doesn't mean it in a bad way." "I don't like it when he's pressuring you," Jungkook replies his eyes following his cousin, who is swimming to the other side of the lake.
Taehyung reaches out to remove a leaf, which is sticking to his friend's wet leg. "Jin didn't pressure me. Stop sulking and go play with him. You only see him once a year." Jungkook faces him with a sigh. "Why are you so reasonable? You are only ten."
Taehyung chuckles. "And you are too protective for your age." Jungkook grabs his book and puts it back on Taehyung's lap before standing up. "I will always be protective over you, my little ballet dancer."
ᖴIᐯE 🩰 Jungkook rushes to his car. He has finished work- later than expected after an emergency had come in shortly right before the end of his shift. He glances at the time and curses. Taehyung is going to perform in a bit and he had promised to come and watch. #taekookau
Jungkook arrives ten minutes too late and parks his car close to the theater, hopes he won't get a ticket. He jogs up the stairs and shows his visitor pass, Taehyung had given him. Jungkook heads inside, hopes that his friend hasn't started dancing his solo yet.
The theater is almost full. There are only few vacant seats. The lights are dimmed and since Jungkook is late, he has to find his seat in semi-darkness. Fortunately, he finds D 19 real quick and sinks into it gratefully.
Jungkook wipes his sweat from his forehead- it's warm inside. He takes a look around the audience. People are dressed elegantly and fancy- it makes him feel uncomfortable since he is wearing washed-out jeans and a plain white shirt. He is obviously underdressed.
The curtains open and Jungkook turns his eyes to the front- and gawks. "Beautiful." Taehyung has entered the stage, dressed in black tights and black ballet shoes, but bare-chested -looking too sexy if someone would ask Jungkook.
Jungkook stares at his friend in amazement- at his toned body with shiny glitter on his skin. Taehyung looks mesmerizing and Jungkook can't take his eyes off him. His body is graceful while dancing, delicate- almost ethereal.
Jungkook feels like a proud parent, resists the urge to tell the lady sitting next to him, that this amazing dancer on stage is no one other than his best friend.
But suddenly Jungkook doesn't want anyone else to see Taehyung like this. It's too intimate- his movements, his facial expression. A powerful sense of possessiveness overcomes Jungkook out of nowhere.
The curtains close after Taehyung has finished his solo performance and the audience applauds vigorously. "Wah, he is so handsome. Do you think he is still single?" a girl asks, sitting behind Jungkook.
"No way! Didn't you see him? He is definitely taken. Someone like him can't be single," another girl replies. "You are probably right. But he is so handsome! Did you see his body? He is hot."
Jungkook grimaces. He doesn't like the way they are talking about his best friend. Taehyung is not a sex object. He curses under his breath but resists the urge to turn around. He shouldn't make a scene in a theater.
The whole ballet performance is finished at ten. Jungkook doesn't wait long before heading backstage. He walks through a long corridor leading into a very large room. Dancers and stylists are bustling around- some of them looking more than tired.
Jungkook fears that he won't be able to find his friend in all that turmoil, but his eyes land on a familiar face- Taehyung's coach. He has met her several times before. She's training his friend for a few years already. "Mrs. Yang, hello."
The short woman turns around, her face lightens up as she seems to recognize him. "Jungkook? Wow- look at you. I haven't seen you in a long time. You grew up so well. You look handsome!"
"Thank you." Jungkook scratches his head. "I am pretty busy these days. I finally started working as a firefighter a few months ago." Mrs. Yang nods. "Yes, I am sure you are busy then. Taehyung told me about your job. Sounds like your childhood wish came true, huh?"
Jungkook smiles. "Yes, it did." He clears his throat. "Where can I find Taehyung, by the way?" "Oh, he is in the dressing room. It is the door over there," Ms. Yang replies and points behind herself. "You should probably knock first, though," she adds with a wink.
"Of course," Jungkook says with a smile. "It's nice to see you again," he adds before heading towards the dressing room. On any other day, Jungkook would just wait until Taehyung will be done changing, but today, he doesn't want to wait.
Jungkook is too thrilled- too proud after his best friend's performance. He wants to see him and tell him how great Taehyung has been. He knocks at the door and waits. A young blonde girl in a tutu opens and smiles up at him. "Hello?" "Oh, hi. I am looking for Taehyung."
"He's right here." Jungkook enters and the girl leads him behind a partition wall. Taehyung is sitting in front of a big mirror, wearing a wide shirt and some shorts while a female stylist is removing his make-up. "Thank you," Jungkook says to the girl. "Sure."
Taehyung has probably recognized his voice and stares at him through the mirror. His tired face lights up instantly and he pushes the stylist's arm away. "Kookie!" He gets up quickly and rushes towards Jungkook.
Jungkook opens his arms and Taehyung stumbles into them. He hugs his friend tightly and lifts him easily from the floor. "You were fantastic," he murmurs against Taehyung's ear before letting him down, keeping his arms wrapped around his tiny waist. "Stunning."
"Thank you!" Taehyung beams at him, eyes wide and crinkled while clutching the hem of Jungkook's shirt. "I am so happy that you made it." "I came too late, but I saw everything, I saw you. We had an emergency and I feared that I wouldn't make it on time- but here I am."
Taehyung looks at him with a fond smile. "You came. That's what counts." Jungkook steps back. "I am still excited. You were amazing out there!" he gushes before his eyes lower on his friend's bare feet. "Oh-fvck," he lets out with a frown and crouches down.
"It's nothing. My toes always look like that right after the performance. It will-" "Stop." Jungkook straightens up and grabs Taehyung's arm, forcing him to sit on the chair. "I'll take care of him," he says to the stylist, who is looking at him in confusion. "You can go."
Taehyung sighs softly. "Kookie, it's okay. You don't-" "Stay still." Jungkook crouches down again and gently lifts his friend's right foot, placing it on his knee. Taehyung has a blood blister on his toe. It looks painful. "How do you treat this? Where is the ointment?"
"Hey. Don't worry." Taehyung brushes his fingers through Jungkook's bangs. "I always treat my feet at home. I didn't bring ointments or band-aids here. It's okay."
"Are you serious?" Jungkook scoffs and raises his head to look up at Taehyung's face. "Why not? You should always have something with you after a performance. You know that your toes will hurt badly afterward," he whines with a pout.
"Don't be like that. I am okay, Kookie!" Taehyung says, probably trying to reassure him. Jungkook sighs, but straightens up. "I feel sorry for your poor feet. They don't deserve that." Taehyung chuckles and gets up from the chair. "You should do a charity event for them."
"Stop joking around. That's not even funny," Jungkook replies with another pout and reaches out, trying to remove some glitter from his friend's cheek. "But I'm very proud of you! Your performance was stunning. You did so well."
Taehyung's cheeks flush. "So- you didn't fall asleep while watching?" "Yah. I would never! I love to see you dance."
ᖴᒪᗩᔕᕼᗷᗩᑕK 🩰 Jungkook finds Taehyung on the playground, sitting on the swings- getting drenched in the rain. He has looked for him after school, but couldn't find him. Watching Taehyung sitting there, looking sad makes Jungkook's heart feel heavy.
Jungkook rushes over to the swings and holds the umbrella over his friend's head. "What are you doing? Do you want to get sick?" Taehyung doesn't look up at him. He just keeps staring at the ground.
"Let's go home. You can't catch a cold right before your first performance." "I don't care about it," Taehyung mumbles softly. "It doesn't matter." Jungkook almost doesn't hear him because of the heavy rain.
"What? What are you talking about?" Taehyung's first big performance in their hometown is coming up, and he has been pretty thrilled about it the past few days- practicing very hard.
Taehyung finally looks up at him. His expression is indifferent- water dripping from his hair and clothes. "He is not going to come." "What?" Jungkook is still worried that his friend will get sick, so he grabs Taehyung's arm and pulls him up. "Who is not going to come?"
"My dad." "Fvck him!" It's out before Jungkook can stop himself. But he is mad at Mr. Kim. How can he act towards his son like that- not supporting him, hurting him again and again? Jungkook has enough of that asshole of a father. Taehyung glances up at him with widened eyes.
"Sorry, I didn't want to-" Jungkook trails off- his emotions start to boil over. "But who does he think he is? You are 15 years old and probably already one of the best dancers in this whole fvcking country. What the fvck is his problem?!"
"Kookie-" "You are doing what you love and you are amazing, and he- he just tries to discourage you all the time, making you feel bad and- it hurts me to see you like this! You don't deserve this bullshit!"
Taehyung's expression changes from one second to the next- the distress replaced by mocking amusement. "What is it? Are you going to cry now?"
"Shut up!" Jungkook wants to push Taehyung away for teasing him, but he doesn't want his friend to get drenched even more. "I am serious though!" he mumbles and reaches for Taehyung's hand, hold it tightly.
"If he won't come to watch you dance- fvck him! You don't need his support! You are wonderful and you will be the best in the future! And I am proud of you, and I will support you and cheer you on until you stop dancing someday when you are old and grey. Got it?"
"You curse too much," Taehyung mumbles, but a smile escapes his lips. He leans in and wraps his arms around Jungkook's waist. "Thank you for being you," he whispers into his neck.
Jungkook feels his friend shivering against his body and hugs him back tightly, tries to give him some warmth. "Okay, okay- you can thank me later for being an amazing person, but let's get out of the rain for now."
[ This is too much fluff..even for me 😆 ] [ See you in the next part. ]
Ϛì× 🚒👨🏻‍🚒 Taehyung is in a good mood. It's the weekend and he has no appointments- just looking forward to relax. He hears some sirens in the distance, reminding him that Jungkook is going to work at the weekend and that they won't see each other. #taekookau
Taehyung takes a shower and gets dressed. Seconds after he has sat plopped on the sofa, his phone starts ringing. It's an unknown number and he considers to ignoring the call, but his curiosity is stronger. "Hello?"
"Taehyung?" "Yes, who is this?" "Hi, it's Jimin, Jungkook's colleague." Taehyung frowns, getting anxious. "W-why are you calling me? Is Kookie alright?"
"Look, it is nothing serious, okay? So- don't worry. Jungkook is in the hospital right now. He suffered a minor smoke inhalation. It is nothing- it is not too bad and he will be released in a few hours, but I wanted to let you know if you would like to visit him."
Taehyung is worried instantly. That doesn't sound like nothing. His friend wouldn't be in the hospital if it's nothing. He gets up from the sofa- ready to rush out of his apartment. "I am on my way. Is he at the St. Mary's hospital?"
"Yes. I am here, too, but I gotta leave for work in a bit. Jungkook asked me to tell you not to worry. He is doing fine!" "Thank you for letting me know. I will be there soon." Taehyung hangs up, his heart feels heavy.
Taehyung heads outside, almost knocking his neighbor's porcelain figure over. The hospital is ten minutes from his place, so he decides to take a taxi. Only then does he realize that he is still wearing his slippers. But he doesn't care. He just wants to see Jungkook.
The hospital is crowded. Taehyung hates hospitals. He hates the smell and the colorless rooms. And he hates the anxious feeling in his chest. "I am looking for Jeon Jungkook," he tells the young nurse at the information.
"He's in room 120 B, second floor," she replies after checking her computer. Taehyung thanks her before rushing towards the stairs. He is tired and his feet hurt- as always. He arrives in front of the room and takes a deep breath before knocking.
Not waiting for a reply, Taehyung enters and his eyes fall on an old man. The latter eyes him curiously. "Oh, I am so sorry. It seems that I have-" "Tae, I am here."
Jungkook. Taehyung looks at the other side and spotts another bed, which is next to the window. He shuts the door behind himself and smiles at the older patient while passing him. Jungkook looks fine and healthy- Taehyung breathes out a sigh in relief.
"How are you? Are you okay? I was so worried," Taehyung mumbles and sits on the chair beside the bed, eyes wandering over his Jungkook's body. "Hey. Don't worry. I am doing great. I don't even know, why I still have to be here. I should go back to work."
"You are in the hospital for a reason, so just wait until the doctor will say you are good to go." Taehyung studies Jungkook's face. "But what happened?" he asks in a whine, but feels relieved that his friend is doing okay.
Jungkook smiles softly and takes his hand. "Don't look at me like that! I am okay! I shouldn't even be here." "Tell me what happened," Taehyung says and tries to pull his hand away, but Jungkook tightens his grip.
"My breathing apparatus ran out of air during our rescue operation. Nothing too wild." Taehyung scoffs with a shake of his head. "Are you serious? That sounds very wild to me. But why was it defect?"
Jungkook lets go of his hand with a sigh, runs a hand through his tousled hair. "I stayed in the burning house for a bit too long and- come on, do I really need to tell you the details?"
"You are too reckless. It bothers me," Taehyung mutters and tries to keep his voice down, though he feels like yelling at his friend right now."Why is it always you, who stays the longest, goes the farthest and risks the most in your job? I hate it."
"I am saving people's lives. Are you getting mad at me because of that?" "Yes, no- I don't even know, okay? It is just- you make me worry." Jungkook's expression softens and he takes his hand once again. "I know you hate my job and I-"
"I do!" Taehyung agrees with a pout, starts to rub his friend's hand with his thumb absentmindedly. "I need to save children and women and men, no? Someone needs to do it."
"I know," Taehyung says with a pout. "It's not like I hate what you do. You know that I am proud of you! It is just- you are so damn reckless and stubborn, and you do dangerous things that others wouldn't do- risking your life."
Jungkook sighs, but his eyes are soft. "Jin says that we are too protective of each other. I guess he's right, hmm?" Taehyung lowers his eyes to their laced hands. "Just promise me not to be too reckless in the future. Take care of yourself. I need you."
"I will do whatever I need to do to save-" "Yah." Taehyung glares at him, ready to fight his friend. "But I will try to stop as soon as it will get too dangerous, okay? Stop pouting-" "You two are adorable. How long have you been together already?"
Taehyung snaps his head towards the elder patient behind him. He has already forgotten about him. Now he feels shy. "Oh, we are-" "We know each other since we're three," Jungkook replies with a smile.
"Ah, that must be nice. You look good together. And it is good to worry. If you worry, you care and if you care- that means that you love each other." Taehyung glances back at Jungkook, who winks at him with a smirk. "Yes, I guess that's right."
🚒
Jungkook left the hospital in the evening. Taehyung has gone to his place to check up on him. He had been excited to spend some time with his best friend, but the mood is weird.
"Tae, I told you I am doing fine. Can you please not follow me around?" Taehyung crosses his arms in front of his chest when his friend finally sits down on the sofa. Instead to rest, Jungkook has been wandering around the apartment, cleaning up and doing unimportant stuff.
"The doctor told you to rest. So please- just do that." Jungkook groans and looks up at him. "I can't rest if you keep nagging me." "Stay on the sofa and I will be quiet. What's so difficult about it? Take it slow for once. You don't need to clean the whole apartment right now"
"You-" Taehyung is tired. He keeps worrying about him, but Jungkook doesn't seem to care. "Please, just take care of your health. That's all I am asking for." "I am, Tae! It's not like you are taking better care of your health," Jungkook says- a hint of annoyance in his voice.
Taehyung hates to fight with Jungkook- especially since he's just worried about him. But he can't suppress the anger that is building inside him. "I am pretty sure that you can't compare dancing with being a firefighter and risking your life daily- can you?"
Jungkook scoffs. "I still worry as much as you do, alright? But you don't want to understand that." "Why are you even saying that? This is not about me right now." Taehyung feels frustrated. "I am just-"
"You should go home. I am tired- and I have a headache. I don't want to fight with you," Jungkook mumbles. He pulls out his phone. "Let's talk another time."
"Seriously?" Taehyung hates it the most when his friend ignores him. It hurts. "Fine. I will go. I'm sorry for bothering you so much." "You know it's not like that," Jungkook says with a sigh, but keeps staring at his phone. "I told you I don't want to fi-"
"Forget it." Taehyung turns around and leaves the room. Jungkook follows him. "Hey. Don't be mad." "I don't understand why you are acting like-" "I don't know. I just- I need a break." Taehyung snaps his head at Jungkook, stares at him in disbelief. "A break? From me?"
"What? No!" Jungkook places a hand on Taehyung's shoulder. "That's not what I meant. Just- today was a lot. And I don't want to fight because of this subject again. I- today I just, I am just too tired."
"I understand. I didn't know I am tiring you out." Taehyung turns around and opens the door. "You can call me whenever you are done taking a break from me," he mumbles offended and walks outside.
"Come on. Tae!" Jungkook calls, but keeps staying inside his apartment. Taehyung starts running. He knows that his best friend doesn't mean it in a bad way, but his words hurt him nonetheless. Tears gather in his eyes, but he blinks them away.
ᖴᒪᗩᔕᕼᗷᗩᑕK 👨🏻‍🚒 "Are you going to save me if I would be in a burning house one day?" 8-year-old Taehyung asks his best friend. Jungkook has been showing him his new firetruck, he had gotten for Christmas.
"Huh?" Jungkook looks up at Taehyung with big, innocent eyes. "Of course! I would drive the truck faster than everyone else, and run into every room to find you- no matter how much fire there is. You are my best friend. I will always save you. Why are you asking?"
Taehyung purses his lips and tilts his head with narrowed eyes. "But you could get burned if the fire is too strong. Aren't you scared of that? It sounds very scary to me," he mumbles in a pout.
Jungkook puts his truck down. His full attention is on his friend now. "No. I am not allowed to be scared. I will always save my Tete. I will wear a uniform and the fire won't hurt me. And you don't need to be scared of the fire, too. I will always be there when you need me."
"Okay," Taehyung mumbles, a smile spreads on his face. "And I will always save you a seat for my dance performances." Jungkook beama at him. "Seriously? I won't have to pay for a ticket? Like never ever?"
Taehyung reaches out and pokea Jungkook's tummy. "Of course not! You will always be my special guest!"
Sҽʋҽɳ 🚒👨🏻‍🚒 Jungkook feels bad. Real bad. He had acted like an asshole towards his best friend, though Taehyung had only been worried about him- wanting to take care of him. Jungkook hates himself. #taekookau
Two days are gone since Taehyung had left his apartment, probably feeling hurt because of what he had said to him. Jungkook had tried to call his friend afterward, but Taehyung hadn't picked up- hadn't reacted to his texts.
Jungkook had wanted to go to Taehyung's place, but he had to work two double shifts in a row. He really hates himself for being such an insensitive idiot. Taehyung was just worried about him as much as Jungkook is constantly worried about his friend.
"What's wrong? You look depressed. Are you alright?" Jimin aska with a mouthful of noodles during lunch break. Jungkook looks at him and sighs. "I am an asshole."
Jimin takes a sip of his water, not taking his eyes off Jungkook's face. He smirks. "Tell me something new, buddy. I could have told you that one before." "Fvck you." Jimin laughs. "I am just joking. What's wrong? What did you do?"
"I kind of fought with my best friend and now he won't answer my calls." "Taehyung? How could you fight with someone like him? He is like an angel. He looks so sweet and soft. He-" "Yah." Jungkook snaps his head at Jimin. "Don't you think I know that better than anyone else?"
"Hmm." Jungkook places his spoon on his plate, not feeling hungry anymore. "I am such an idiot. I had a bad headache after I had gotten back from the hospital. Taehyung was worried about me and- I kind of threw him out of my apartment."
Jimin scoffs and widens his eyes in disbelief. "You did what? What the fvck? You don't deserve him." "I know. Thank you for being so sympathetic, though," Jungkook mutters sarcastically. "God, I am such an idiot."
"I am just honest with you, Kook! And you are fvcking dense, by the way. Do you even realize how often you worry about Taehyung? I am listening to your stories about your friend's toes and his hard practice- like every fvcking day."
Jungkook puts his elbows on the table and his head in his hands. He rubs his eyes. "I want to k!ll myself." "Why are you not allowing Taehyung to worry about you?"
"Because I am an asshole," Jungkook replies lamely and puts his hands away to look at Jimin with a pout. "Well, at least you know that yourself. I don't even understand what you two are doing. Are you sure you both should just stay friends? It seems unhealthy to me."
"Please don't start with-" "No, seriously. You should think about it. I guess, you are already more than friends anyway- you are just fvcking dense." Jungkook throws his napkin at Jimin. "Shut up. I don't want to hear that. Why is everyone saying things like these?"
"Why? Because it is fvcking obvious and I only know you for a few months. Deep inside you, you probably know that I am right." Jimin stretches. "But whatever. It is your life. I need to go somewhere real quick. See you in a bit."
Jungkook sighs and pulls out his phone, stares at the screen. No new texts.
Jungkook sighs. He misses Taehyung so much. They would normally talk to each other daily. He decides to go to his friend's place the next day after work. He will just wait in front of his door until Taehyung will open it. It doesn't suit his friend to be resentful anyway.
Surprisingly, a text arrives only a few minutes later, almost startling Jungkook. He stares at his screen.
Jungkook breathes out a sigh in relief. It's a short text, but at least Taehyung has replied. It's a start. That's a good sign. Jungkook puts his phone away and stands up, walks out of the room. He is in a good mood now.
🚒
Shortly before the end of his shift, another emergency call arrives. Jungkook rushes towards the firetruck. "Seriously? It's the third time this week that we are getting a last minute emergency right before our shift ends," he hisses and fastens his seatbelt.
"What is it this time?" Jimin asks their team leader as they start driving off with sirens screaming and lights flashing. "There was a gas explosion in a ballet studio on the east side of town," Joon explains. "It doesn't look good."
Jungkook's heart drops to his stomach. It must be another studio. There must be more ballet studios in that area. He takes a shaky breath. "W-what's the address?" "Main street 12. We should be there in five minutes. They said that-"
Jungkook isn't listening to Joon anymore. He feels nauseous, feels like he will throw up in a bit. Panic rises in his mind, clouding his ability to think. He pulls out his phone with trembling hands, dials Taehyung's number. Nothing.
"Kook, is something wrong?" Jimin asks, looking concerned. "You are fvcking pale. Are you sick?" Cold sweat spreads from Jungkook's back to his hands as fear tears at his throat. His tongue feels heavy.
"Kook! What is wrong?" Jimin tugs at his arm to get his attention. "You are-" "I-it's Taehyung's ballet studio. And he is- he is there right now. H-he has a dance lesson." Jimin's eyes widen and his hand flies up to cover his mouth. "Oh my God. I am- I am so sorry, Kook."
Jungkook dials Taehyung's number once again. "Please, pick up. Please, be okay." 'The person you have called is temporary not available.' "Fvck."
"I can't reach him," Jungkook mumbles, his voice choking with emotions. He feels like crying, his throat is closing up. "Tae. Please, not." "I am very sorry, buddy," Jimin says again and places his hand on Jungkook's shoulder.
[ a/n: sorry, a little too late, but TW: panic attack ]
Jungkook eyes fall on the black smoke, engulfing the building as soon as they arrives at the studio. Flames are leaping high into the air. "Oh, fvck. That's a good explosion. I hope no one is inside," their team leader says as they start to get out of the truck.
Jungkook puts on his helmet and stares at the burning building anxiously. His heart is thudding in his ears. "I will get you," he says and starts to move- not caring how dangerous it could get. If Taehyung is still in there, he needs to go. He won't leave him alone. Never.
The fire is fierce, obviously too hot for anyone to go through the door. Jungkook knows that. He is an experienced firefighter. He still keeps rushing towards the entrance, ready to run inside. His team leader grabs his arm. "What are you doing? You can't go in there!"
"Let me go! My friend is in there," Jungkook snaps as memories of his best friend starts to run through his head. Five-year-old Taehyung in his tutu, ten-year-old Taehyung crying because of his father, thirteen-year-old Taehyung being drunk as fvck, telling him he loves him.
"Jungkook! No! There's not even a way inside. There are flames everywhere. This will be su!c!de." "Let me go! I don't care! I need to find him," Jungkook yells and tries to pull away. He is strong, but his team leader is stronger, keeping him in place.
"I am sorry. I can't let you run in there." Joon wrapa his other arm around Jungkook's shoulder, makes sure that he won't free himself. "I am very sorry that you know someone in there. But I can't let you go inside. I just can't. I am responsible for you."
Jungkook feels tears fill his eyes, flowing down his cheeks. He can't breathe. Guilt weighs heavily on his heart. He is a firefighter and can't save the person he loves the most? That can't not be true. That can't be happening.
Jungkook watches his colleagues, who has started to fight the fire. He tries to pull away from his team leader once again, but to no avail. "Let me go," he cries out. "Please! If Tae is in there, I want to be in there, too. I don't care about what will happen to me. Please."
"Kook, what are you even saying? Calm down." "I don't want to live without him. I can't-" Jungkook's voice breaks as a sob escapes his throats, shaking his shoulders. His team leader rubs his back. "I am sorry, Kook."

Taehyung is standing behind the barrier tape, which is keeping the onlookers back. He's bewildered, staring at the flames, at the smoke, at his dance studio- or what's left of it. The sight hurts his chest. It hurts like a knife cut inside his chest.
Taehyung has probably escaped de@th- this realization hits him so sudden that it feels like a rush of blood in his brain. He could have d!ed in the fire today, but it seems that he has a guardian angel.
Taehyung trembles. He is not able to take his eyes away from the burning building. Ms. Yang had gotten an urgent call and they had ended the lesson earlier today. Taehyung had left the studio and only two minutes later, he had heard a loud explosion behind himself.
"Please move to the back a little bit," a firefighter instructs the people, who stand behind the barrier tape. "It's dangerous. The building could collapse for all we know."
Taehyung steps away and stares the guy in uniform. He knows him. That's Jimin. Only now does he realize that Jungkook could be here as well. "Kookie." Taehyung gasps, remembering that he has texted his friend he would be in the dance studio today.
"Jimin!" Jungkook's collegue turned around and looks at Taehyung. He opens his mouth in shock and approaches him. "Taehyung! You are alright? Fvck." "Yes, why? What is it?"
"Shit. Jungkook is freaking out because he can't reach you. He is a mess-" "Where is he?" Taehyung asks and takes a look around. His eyes fall on two firefighter. One of them seems to hold the other firefighter back from running into the building. "Kookie."
Jimin follows his eyes and sighs. "Wait here," he says before rushing to Jungkook. Taehyung's heartbeat starts to race. He feels bad for ignoring Jungkook for the past two days. He had needed some time to calm down. But now he feels very bad.
Jungkook suddenly turns his head and stares in Taehyung's direction. He pulls off his helmet and rushes towards him. "Kookie." As Jungkook gets closer, Taehyung can see the tears streaming down his face and suddenly everything else doesn't matter anymore. "Kookie," he whines.
Taehyung's eyes are fixed on Jungkook's flushed face, reddened eyes and tear-stained cheeks. He wants nothing else than to hug him. "Kookie," he mumbles again and spreads his arms impatiently.
Jungkook isn't a crier. Looking at his tears breaks Taehyung's heart.  "Tae," Jungkook breathes between sobs before he finally closes the distance between them. He cups Taehyung's cheeks and presses a firm, soft kiss on his lips.
"Tae." Jungkook wraps his arms around his body, lifts him of his feet. Taehyung is overwhelmed. His senseweare reeling from the surprising kiss- skin is tingling everywhere. He can feel Jungkook shaking against him. It makes him sad.
Taehyung wraps his legs around his friend's hips, caresses his back with one hand. "Kookie." "I thought you are inside. They didn't let me go in-" Jungkook's voice breaks and he presses a kiss on Taehyung's neck. "I thought I have lost you."
Taehyung feel wetness on his skin and shivers. Jungkook has thought that he's still inside the building and he has wanted to run inside- though the leaping flames are still blocking the entrance. "I am okay, Kookie. I am alright."
Jungkook sobs and puts Taehyung back on the ground, hugs him tightly. "Are you sure?" "I wasn't inside when the studio caught fire." "I was so fvcking scared. I couldn't reach you, and I was sure you were in there," Jungkook mumbles and leans away with tears in his eyes.
"I am sorry for making you worry. My battery died," Taehyung whines and feels like crying as well. "Sorry." It makes his heart sad to see Jungkook like this and he feels even worse for acting like a sulking idiot the past two days.
Taehyung reaches out and wipes Jungkook's cheeks. "Don't cry. You are breaking my heart. I am sorry. And I am so sorry for ignoring you-" Jungkook silences Taehyung with a bone-crushing hug.
"No. No. I am the one who is sorry. I have been an asshole towards you. I am so fvcking sorry. I didn't want you to leave that day. I need you around me- always. I don't even know what had gotten into me," Jungkook whines inbetween sobs. "You are everything to me."
Taehyung feels his eyes burning and he tries hard to stop the tears as he rubs his friend's back soothingly. "It is okay. Everything is okay. Calm down. I am alright. We are both alright, Kookie."
Warm lips presses to Taehyung's neck again and Jungkook hums against his skin. "You texted me you have a lesson, and after I heard that your studio is burning- and I couldn't reach you. I was so fvcking scared." Jungkook whispers the last part, his voice is choking.
Taehyung pulls back and wipes his friend's tears away once again. "I am sorry." He lets out a shaky breath. "I am sorry, Kookie. Mrs. Yang got an urgent call and we left earlier- actually just a few minutes before all of this has happened."
Jungkook lets his eyes wander over Taehyung's face. He leans in. "Thank God. I don't know what I would have done if you were inside." "I know. I can't believe that I-" Taehyung trails off, a tear escapes his eyes after all.
Taehyung is too overwhelmed by the whole situation. He is happy that everything is good, but at the same time feels shaken because of what could have happened. Jungkook kisses his tear away, causes Taehyung's skin to tingle. "You are okay. You are here with me."
Taehyung smiles, though he feels like balling his eyes out. "Did you really want to run into the burning building because you thought that I was inside?" Jungkook planta a sweet, lingering kiss on his forehead. "I told you that I will always come and save you. No matter what."
"But you could have die-" "Jeon. Back to work!" A male voice interrupts them. Jungkook's expression gets serious before he turns his head to the left. "Yes, sir. I am coming," he replies before facing Taehyung again.
"I need to do my job," Jungkook says with a hesitant smile- though he looks like he would rather stay with him. Taehyung clutches the front of his uniform, not wanting to let him go. He feels the urge to cuddle and comfort Jungkook for a while. "You do?"
"Yes." Taehyung hums. He won't make a fuss. They have attracted enough attention in front of the onlookers. "Be careful, please." Jungkook's eyes soften and he leans in, placing another kiss on Taehyung's cheek- dangerously close to his lips. "I will."
"Okay." Jungkook pulls away, takea the warmth with him. "My shift will be finished after we are done here. I am fvcking tired, but I want to stay with you tonight, okay?" Taehyung's heart warms at his words. "Okay. I'll wait for you."
🚒
They are in Jungkook's livingroom, sitting on the sofa. His friend's arm is wrapped around Taehyung as he is cuddling into him. Jungkook hasn't let go of him since they had arrived at his place a few hours ago. "Are you alright now? Have you calmed down?"
Jungkook nods- his head is resting on top of Taehyung's. "I am. Are you alright?" Taehyung purses his lips and lets out a slow breath. "I'm still shocked about what happened, and sad that the studio is gone. But I'm happy that no one got hurt. That is the most important thing."
Jungkook pulls Taehyung closer against his body. "I am so happy that you didn't get hurt." He pauses, seems to think about something. "I was crying like a baby back there, was I? How embarrassing."
"You surely did cry like a baby." Taehyung agrees with a smile and places his hand on his friend's thigh. "But it's okay. Everyone would understand in that kind of situation." "You don't know my colleagues." Jungkook sighs. "They will probably tease me about this for a while."
Jungkook lifts his head. "My heart was bleeding. I really thought I had lost you." Taehyung faces him. "Let's stop talking about it, okay? I don't want to be sad anymore. We should be happy." "We should. I guess you are right."
Taehyung's eyes fall on Jungkook's lips. His friend had kissed him. It had surely been in the heat of the moment, but still- his best friend had kissed him on the lips. And it has felt nice. Taehyung turned his face away, suddenly feeling a blush coming to his cheeks.
"What is it?" "Uh- nothing." Jungkook yawns and reaches out, cups his chin- forcing Taehyung to face him. "What is it? Why are you so red?"
"I said it's nothing." Taehyung clears his throat. "Are you hungry?" he asks, trying to change the subject. "No, I actually just want to sleep for the next twenty hours. Will you stay the night?"
Taehyung studies his face. He would love to stay, but Jungkook had worked two double shifts in a row, and he needed a good, long sleep without interruptions. "No. I want you to have a good rest." Jungkook pouts and takes his hand. "But I can also rest with you by my side."
"Yeah, but still- you should sleep by yourself. You must be very tired," Taehyung replies and stands up. Jungkook doesn't let go of his hand though, threading his fingers with his. "I am so sorry about what I had said to you two days ago. I had an awful headache and-"
"Stop." Taehyung places his other hand on top of Jungkook's head- plays with his soft hair. "I already told you that it is okay. I am not even thinking about it anymore. Don't apologize."
"Okay." Jungkook closes his eyes, clearly enjoying the touch. "Mhh, that feels good." "Yeah?" Taehyung watches his friend. He knows everything about his face. The texture of his skin. The tiny scar on his left cheek. He's familiar with every smile line, with every wrinkle.
Jungkook is handsome. Taehyung knows that as well- he isn't blind. And after his friend had kissed him today, he is even more aware of it. "Okay, I guess you should go to bed now," he mumbles shyly and pulls his hand away.
"Can I get a goodnight kiss?" Jungkook asks and stands up with a yawn. Taehyung smiles at his friend. He looks soft and innocent in his tired state. "Sure, little baby," he saya in an affectionate tone before placing a quick kiss on his cheek.

ᖴᒪᗩᔕᕼᗷᗩᑕK 👨🏻‍🚒 "Why did you do that?" "Huh? I gave you a kiss." "But, why?" Jungkook shrugs. "You hurt your knee, and I wanted to make the pain go away."
Taehyung glances at him with a raised eyebrow. "But shouldn't you kiss my hurt knee, then? Why my cheek?" "Just because." "Kookie." "Hmm?"
"I am 15 years old. Do you really think that was necessary?" Jungkook smirks. "Of course. I don't care how old you are." He wraps his arm around Taehyung's shoulder. "Why would you try and play soccer anyway? I told you that's not for you. You will only get hurt."
"I just wanted to try it," Taehyung says before bopping Jungkook's nose. "You kissed me in front of our whole class. Aren't you embarrassed?" "No! My affection can't wait. If I want to kiss you, I will just do it. It doesn't matter where or when."
EIGᕼT 🩰 Jungkook has a day off and decides to visit Taehyung. After the studio had burned down, they use a gym for the time being. It's accessible for the public and Jungkook feels the need to check on his best friend. #taekookau
Jungkook hasn't told Taehyung about it, but after the horrible incident, he is still having nightmares. And they are always the same. Every time his best friend would end up in the middle of the flames, causing Jungkook to wake up with a scream, drenched in sweat.
The gym is a few blocks away from Jungkook's place, so he walks over there. He wanders through the long corridor before arriving at the last hall, hearing slow music coming from inside. He enters and sits on the steps, eyes searching for his best friend.
Taehyung is jumping and twirling around the hall, wearing red shorts and a wide shirt. He look focused but happy. Siwon is there as well, lingering close at his best friend's side, watching him- saying something to him from time to time.
Their closeness bothers Jungkook. Taehyung seems not to care about Siwon's penetrating eyes on him. He is probably used to it by now. As he does another turn, his eyes fall on Jungkook. He stops moving.
Taehyung rushes towards him- a happy smile is on his face. Jungkook stands up and walks down the steps to greet him. "Hey, there." Taehyung wipes the sweat off his forehead. "Kookie. What are you doing here?"
"I came to watch you dance," Jungkook says and resists the urge to place a kiss on his friend's flushed cheek. He has no idea why he feels the sudden need to kiss Taehyung at all.
"Actually, you are not allowed to be here," Taehyung says with a smile, pulling Jungkook out of his thoughts. "You know that I am a professional dancer and people pay money to see me."
"The gym is open for the public, so you can't throw me out. But nice try." Jungkook's eyes fall on Siwon, who is watching them not so subtly. "Didn't you tell me that he is not your dance partner?"
"He isn't. Siwon just- he likes to hang around me, I don't even know why." Jungkook doesn't like it. Not at all. He glances at Siwon. The latter isn't even pretending to do something else and keeps staring in their direction shamelessly. "Do you want me to talk to him?"
"What?" Taehyung frowns. "No, of course not, Kookie. He is not dangerous or anything like that- just a little annoying." He poked Jungkook's belly with his finger. "Hey, stop glaring at him like that. Be nice."
"I am always nice." Jungkook looks back at Taehyung with a sigh. "When will you be off?" Taehyung glances at the clock on the wall. "In 15-20 minutes, I guess. Why?" "Let's go eat something afterward. I am very hungry."
Taehyung smiles with a shake of his head. "When are you not hungry? But sure, let's do this. Just, please- behave and don't mess with Siwon until I am done, okay? He is the son of the owner of the academy after all. Don't forget that."
"Yeah, yeah, I know. You have already told me that." Jungkook reaches out and plucks a hair off his friend's shirt. "I won't touch him. But he should stop bothering you. It annoys me." Taehyung pulls away with a smile. "Just watch something on your phone, then."
"No. I came to watch you." Jungkook sis down again, his eyes following Taehyung's every move. He is impressed by his friend's high jumps, but at the same time, he feels bad for Taehyung's poor toes- knowing how much they will hurt him afterward.
Siwon watches Taehyung as well. He is not dancing at all, seems to be infatuated by his best friend- definitely not only because of his dance skills. "Annoying shit." Jungkook scoffs and pulls his phone out to check his texts for a moment.
There's a sudden thud and a groan. Jungkook snaps his eyes up and curses. His friend is sitting on the floor, clutching his foot. "What the fvck!" Siwon squats down in front of Taehyung, places a hand on his shoulder. "Are you okay? I am sorry for bumping into you."
Jungkook rushes towards Taehyung as the latter is trying to get up on his own. He grabs his friend's arm to help him. "Are you hurt? What happened? I looked away for one second and you hurt yourself. Are you serious?"
"I am fine," Taehyung says quietly, but his expression shows that he's in pain as he tries to step on his left foot. "You can't continue dancing like this. You need a break," Siwon utters and reaches for his other arm. "Let me help you to take Taehyung to the changing room."
"I got it. Don't touch him!" Jungkook hisses at Siwon and wraps an arm around Taehyung's waist to support him. "You have done enough anyway." "Kookie, I am fine. You don't have to be mad at him. It was an accident."
"You are not fine. Your ankle looks already swollen. You need some ice and you need to rest. Lean on me and don't put too much weight on your left foot," Jungkook says, but scoffs as Siwon wraps an arm around his best friend as well.
They end up helping Taehyung to the changing room together, help him sit on the bench. Jungkook squats down in front of his friend, slowly pulling off his shoes. "I will go get some ice," Siwon mumbles and leaves the room.
"That is the least what he can do," Jungkook hisses absentmindedly while inspecting Taehyung's swollen ankle. "Can you move your foot?"
"Yes. I guess it is slightly sprained. Maybe even not that. Don't worry. It will be okay in two days." Taehyung tugs at Jungkook's shirt so he would look up at him. "Don't be mad at Siwon. It was an accident."
Jungkook grimaces. "I didn't see it, but he bumped into you and you fell because of that. I hate him for that," he reasons childishly. Taehyung smiles softly and reaches out to bop his nose before brushing his thumb along Jungkook's forehead. "You worry too much."
Jungkook scoffs and takes Taehyung's hand, places a gentle kiss on his palm. "Then stop giving me so many reasons to worry." Taehyung widens his eyes, probably surprised by that gesture. His cheeks color. "W-why did you kiss my hand all of a sudden?"
"I don't know. You are hurt and- I felt like it." "You are weird," Taehyung mumbles, though he is obviously flustered. "Since when do you blush because of me?" Jungkook asks and tilts his head, smiles sheepishly.
Taehyung raises an eyebrow and purses his lips. "I'm not blushing. You started to show a lot of affection lately" "So?" Jungkook's eyes lower to his friend's lips and he licks his own absentmindedly. He has not been able to forget the sweet taste of Taehyung's lips anymore.
"I found a cool-pack," Siwon says and enters the room again. "Give it to me." Jungkook takes the cool-pack out of his hand and places it gently against Taehyung's ankle. "You can go now," he mutters without looking up at Siwon.
"Kookie-" "No, it is okay. It was my fault. I am sorry again. I can see that you are in good hands for now, Taehyung," Siwon utters and turns around to leave the changing room.
Jungkook can feel Taehyung's eyes on him, but he keeps staring at his swollen ankle. "I hope it is nothing serious." "I know my body. It is not," Taehyung replies before letting out a long breath. "Kookie, look at me."
Jungkook glances up at him. "What is it?" "Why did you kiss me on the lips last week?" Jungkook almost drops the cool-pack out of his hand. He would have never expected Taehyung to start talking about it.
"Oh, that- well, I was so happy that you weren't in the burning building- obviously. And- it just happened," Jungkook says and tries to act nonchalant though his heart is pounding against his ribcage. "Why? Does it bother you?"
Something sparkles in Taehyung's eyes. Then it's gone. "No, no. Just- I don't know. You are a lot touchier after what had happened- giving me a lot of kisses these days."
Jungkook can see the blush on his friend's cheeks. He smiles. "So, the kiss didn't bother you?" "No. I just wanted to, you know, ask if something has- changed between us?"
"I am happy that you are alive, and I like to be affectionate towards you. I don't think that this is something new though." "Okay." Taehyung pauses, probably trying to organize his thoughts. "But would you have kissed Jimin if he had been in that situation?"
"What? Ew." Jungkook turns the cool-pack around before pressing it against his friend's ankle once again. "Of course not. What are you even asking?" The very thought of it makes him cringe.
Taehyung shrugs. "I am trying to understand why you did that. I am just curious." "It was in the heat of the moment." Taehyung hums with a sigh. He is definitely not satisfied with the answer.
"It seems to bother you after all- since you have started to talk about it." "It is not bothering me. I just keep thinking about it whenever I see you."
Jungkook smirks. "So- you have to think about it whenever you see my kissable lips?" Taehyung widens his eyes and turns his head away- his blush deepens. "What are you saying? Just forget about it."
"You started talking about the kiss." Taehyung looks back at Jungkook- eyebrows knit. "And now I am asking you to forget it." He leans down and reaches for the cool-pack. "Let me hold it myself."
"Why? All of a sudden?" Jungkook asks with a laugh. "Are you being snippy right now?" "No, I am not. Let me hold it myself," his friend repeats with a pout. He is definitely snippy.
Jungkook lets go of the cool-pack and wraps his hand around Taehyung's nape, pulls his head down to his. "I would do it again if you want me to," he says teasingly and forms a kissing mouth before standing up. "Let's go back to your place and order something to eat."

"Tae! No! No, please not!!" Taehyung wakes up startled and disoriented when he hears someone calling his name. He snaps his eyes open, remembers that he has stayed at Jungkook's place overnight. "Tae! Nooo." "Huh? What- what is it?"
Taehyung sits up and switches on the night lamp. He glances down at his friend, who is tossing around- tears are streaming down his face."No! God. No!" Taehyung starts shaking Jungkook's shoulders in an attempt to wake him. "Kookie. Wake up! You are dreaming."
"Please. No!" "Wake up, Kookie!" Taehyung shakes him harder. "Kook!" Jungkook finally rips his eyes open, lets out a shaky breath. He seems to be in shock and glances around- looking scared.
"You are okay. It was a nightmare," Taehyung says and reaches out to wipe the sweaty hair out of his friend's face. Jungkook's eyes fall on him- a dawning realization is on his face. He lunge forward and wraps his arms around Taehyung's waist, burrows his face into his shirt.
"It's alright. Calm down," Taehyung tries to soothe his best friend, brushes his fingers through his hair. "Was the dream that bad? "Yes," Jungkook mumbles into his shirt. "Horrible." "It's okay now. You are here with me. You are safe."
Jungkook pulls away and lays back on the mattress, places his head on the pillow to look at the ceiling. "I can't believe I dreamed about it again." Taehyung reaches out and wipes his friend's tear-stained cheeks with one hand. "Again? What do you mean?"
Jungkook looks up at him and takes Taehyung's hand, lacing their fingers together. "What were you dreaming about? You were calling my name. Was the dream about me?" Taehyung asks, though he already knows the answer.
Jungkook grimaces and tightens the hold on his hand. "It's always the same. You're in the burning building and I am too late." He lets out a shaky breath. "It is horrible." Taehyung brushes a lock of hair from his friend's forehead. "Why haven't you told me about it before?"
Jungkook pouts. "I didn't expect the dreams to continue. Why won't it stop?" he whines and glances up at him with sad puppy-like eyes. Taehyung's heart hurts to see his friend suffer. His own ankle is hurting like hell, but he doesn't care about that right now.
"I don't know. But I am here, okay? You know that I wasn't inside, so everything is good. I am not hurt," Taehyung mumbles, not knowing what else to say. Jungkook snuggles against him. "I know. The dreams still won't stop."
"Do you still think about the incident during the day?" "Not so often. But maybe I am scared that something like that could happen again." Taehyung circles his thumb over Jungkook's fingers. "Why? No wonder you dream about it. Stop worrying! Everything is alright!"
"I know. I am not doing it on purpose." Taehyung places their joined hands in his lap. "You make me worry. Don't be like that." Jungkook snuggles even closer against him, his head rests on Taehyung's chest. "Can I sleep like that? Maybe it will help to hear your heart."
"Just close your eyes. I am here. Please, stop worrying. You are making me sad," Taehyung mumbles and turns off the light. "I don't want to make you sad. I am sorry," Jungkook whispers in a drowsy voice.
Taehyung sighs softly. It's surely not healthy how much they care about each other. But there's no way to change that. He keeps circling his thumb over Jungkook's fingers- forgotten is the throbbing pain in his ankle. "Tae." "Hmm?"
"I love you." Taehyung has his eyes closed. A smile spreads on his lips. Jungkook would always say things like these whenever he's drunk or tired as hell. But Taehyung loves hearing him say it- feeling cherished.
"Tae." "Hmm?" "Do you love me, too?" Taehyung's smile widenes and he squeezes his friend's hand. "Of course, I do. Very much. Sleep now."
🩰
Taehyung wakes up 2hrn he feels someone stirring beside him. "Mhh. What is it?" He whines. "Oh shit. Sorry for waking you. Go back to sleep. I need to get ready for work," Jungkook says in a drowsy, deep voice- his arm which has been wrapped around Taehyung starts to pull away.
Raising his head, Taehyung blinks his eyes open as Jungkook is taking the warmth with him. He grabs for his friend's arm, pulls him back against him. "No~ don't go." Jungkook chuckles and reaches up, lightly pinching Taehyung's cheek. "Why are you so cute in the morning?"
"I am always cute," Taehyung says with a yawn. "Don't go. Stay here." Jungkook pecks his forehead. "And who is going to work for me?" Taehyung tightens the hold on his friend's arm. "I don't care. It will be cold if you leave. Let Jimin do your shift."
"I don't think that he can work for two, though." Jungkook places his hand on Taehyung's, pulls it off his arm. "Go back to sleep. And stay at my place. I will be back in a bit. There is enough food in the fridge, okay?"
"No, it's not okay. Don't leave the bed," Taehyung whines, but Jungkook lets out a laugh and gets up, leaving him alone in the king-size bed. "I hate you." "You love me."
Taehyung grabs a pillow and throws it in his friend's direction, but misses him. "Brat." Jungkook laughs and pulls his shirt over his head, stripping naked in front of Taehyung.
Taehyung had seen Jungkook undressing often enough, but suddenly it's making him nervous. He closes his eyes, heart hammers in his chest. "How is your ankle?" Jungkook asks a moment later and pulls Taehyung's blanket away.
"Don't. It's cold. What are you doing?" Jungkook clicks his tongue, gently touching Taehyung's ankle with his thumb. "It is still swollen. Don't forget to put some cool balm on it," he utters, before covering his feet again.
"I will," Taehyung replies with a yawn he is still tired. After waking up in the middle of the night to comfort Jungkook, he hasn't been able to fall asleep for a long time afterward- feeling bad for his friend. "Be careful at work." "I will. See you later."
[ See you soon 💋] [ Me to them:
ᖴᒪᗩᔕᕼᗷᗩᑕK 👨🏻‍🚒 Taehyung and Jungkook want to spend some time in their treehouse, which they had built a few weeks ago, with the help of Jungkook's father. They have taken their bikes and rode towards the woods.
It starts to drizzle as soon as they arrive. They lean their bikes against the tree. "Let's hurry up or we will get drenched," Jungkook says when the rain is getting harder by the second. "Okay." Taehyung follows him up the slippery wooden stairs.
They close the door and sit on the carpet. Jungkook glances at Taehyung, whose wet clothes are already sticking to his body, causing him to shiver. "Are you cold?"
Taehyung snuggles against him. "I will be warm in a bit." Jungkook wraps an arm around his friend. "Do you want to see it now?" "Yes! That's why we are here, right?"
Jungkook nods and pulls out his new red pocket knife. "Here it is. It is so cool. And we can finally carve something into the wood." Taehyung glances at the knife in his hand. "Wow, I want one, too. This looks really cool."
"I am 12. It was time for me to get one." Jungkook pulls his arm off Taehyung's shoulder. "Shall we carve something now?" "Yes. Can I do it first?" Jungkook nods and hands him the knive. "But be careful. Don't cut yourself."
"I am not a baby," Taehyung says and turns around to carve into the wall of their tree house. Jungkook can't see what his friend is doing since he's covering it with his other hand. He sighs and looks up, hopes that the roof will withstand the heavy rain.
"I am done," Taehyung says after a moment and pulls away from the wall. Jungkook turns his head and looks at the carving, which shows two figures holding hands. One of them is holding a heart balloon in his hand.
"This is us. Aren't we cute?" Jungkook chuckles and glances at his friend. "Very cute." He takes the knife out of Taehyung's hand. "Why is one figur holding a heart balloon though?" Taehyung shrugs with a sweet smile. "Just- because."
"Is the heart for me?" "Maybe." Jungkook smiles and bops his friend's nose. "You are cute." "I am not," Taehyung mumbles. He flinches when a thunder cracks right over their tree house.
Jungkook frowns. "We should go back. It is dangerous to stay here during a thunderstorm." Taehyung pouts. "But we just came." "I know." Jungkook puts the knife back into his pocket. "But it is safer to go back," he says and grabs his friend's hand to pull him up. "Come on."
It's raining dogs and cats when they start to climb down the wooden stairs. Jungkook jumps down first. He hears a yell and then his best friend falls right on top of him- makes them both fall onto the wet ground. "Ouch."
"Oh my- Kookie. Shit. I am so sorry. Are you alright?" Taehyung asks, hovering over him, brushing a wet leave off his cheek. Jungkook groans. He is glad that his friend has fallen on top of him and didn't get hurt. "I am okay. Thank God, you don't weight anything."
"I am still sorry. I slipped and-" "It's okay." Jungkook glances up at his friend's dripping hair- eyes widen in worry. "Don't feel bad. I am really okay." Taehyung grimaces and leans down to press a kiss on his cheek. "Thank you for saving me," he mumbles with a smile.
"I didn't do anything. You just fell on top of me- but you are welcome," Jungkook jokes while they stand up. He knocks the dirt of his pants. "We need to hurry up and go home or you will get sick." "You could get sick as well. Please, worry about yourself, too, Kookie."
"But I worry more about you, my little ballet dancer." Taehyung grabs his bike and glances at him with a shy smile. "That's why you have my heart."
Nιɳҽ 🚒👨🏻‍🚒 Jungkook is heading back home after his shift has finally ended. It had been tiring today. The weather is awful and his unit had been called to three car accidents. He has a nasty bruise on his arm after trying to get a woman out of the car. #taekookau
Jungkook has worked longer than expected. He assumes that Taehyung has already gone home by now. But when he enters the apartment, his best friend is still there, cooking something nice-smelling in the kitchen. "I am back," he mutters tired and pulls off his coat.
"Hey, you are late. I thought you would be back one hour ago," Taehyung says and walks towards him. He looks cute wearing his apron. "It was horrible today. So many accidents because of the storm. We-" Taehyung gasps, his eyes are fixed on the bloodstain on his ripped shirt.
"What happened?" his friend asks and pulls off his kitchen gloves. "It's just a small bruise. Don't worry." "Sure." Taehyung takes Jungkook's hand and drags him towards the bathroom. "Pull off your shirt. Let me see."
Jungkook sighs and sits on the closed toilet lid. He pulls off his shirt with a groan. "How is your ankle?" he asks and lowers his eyes to Taehyung's foot. "Why are you asking about my ankle? That is not important right now. Look at your bruise. It is huge."
Jungkook glances at his arm while Taehyung grabs for the first aid kit. He steps in between Jungkook's legs. "It was shattered glass." "How can it pierce through your firefighting uniform?" Taehyung asks in a whine, opening the antiseptic.
"It happens sometimes," Jungkook mumbles and looks at Taehyung's serious and worried expression. His friend cares too much about him. When he had woken up at night, drenched in sweat because of another bad dream, Taehyung had comforted him and cuddled him the rest of the night.
Taehyung wraps Jungkook's arm with a cloth. His tongue is out in concentration. "You should treat your wound right after you get hurt. It could get infected. Please take care of yourself." Jungkook places a hand on Taehyung's hip, pulls him closer between his legs. "Okay."
"W-what are you doing?" Jungkook looks up at Taehyung's flustered self. His eyes fall on his friend's full lips and linger on them. He suddenly wants to kiss Taehyung. Very bad. He's barely able to hold back. "Nothing, I am just holding you."
Taehyung's cheeks reddened and he bites his bottom lip. "Why are you staring at me like that?" "You are pretty." Taehyung's blush deepens. "What are you saying? Did you get a blow to your head?"
"No." Jungkook smiles, his thumb start to caress Taehyung's waist absentmindedly. "But you are very pretty. Have I ever told you that before?" Jungkook swallows. "And you are the prettiest when you care about me."
Taehyung locks eyes with him, stares back intently. "Tell that to yourself," he whispers and wraps his arms around Jungkook's neck. And just like that it finally hits Jungkook. They are too close for friends. Too affectionate. Too caring. Jungkook would literally k!ll for him.
"What are you thinking about?" Taehyung asks, plays with the hair on Jungkook's nape. "About us." "And?" "You tell me. What's happening?" Taehyung tilts his head. "I don't know. But I can't stop thinking about the kiss and how it made me feel. Is that weird?" he whispers.
Jungkook can't believe that his best friend is this straightforward all of a sudden. He blinks at him in surprise. "I don't think that it is weird." "No?" Taehyung leans in until their noses touch. "No."
"Can you, can do it again, then?" "What?" Jungkook asks in a whisper- though he knows exactly what Taehyung is talking about. It makes him excited and nervous. "You are such a meanie. Don't make-" Jungkook silences Taehyung with a soft but firm kiss.
Taehyung's breath hitches audibly, but then he kisses him back- causes Jungkook's poor heart to pound violently against his ribcage. The kiss is everything Taehyung is. Sweet, soft loving and gentle. It makes Jungkook lose his mind. He is already addicted.
Jungkook tightens his arms around Taehyung's waist, deepens the kiss. It should feel wrong to do this with his childhood best friend. But it doesn't. It feels more than right. Taehyung leans back with widened eyes- a shocked expression is on his face. "I, I should-"
"You should kiss me again." Jungkook cups Taehyung's chin and captures his sweet lips. He really likes the taste of them. Enticing.
Taehyung leans away and looks at him with his beautiful large eyes, lips slightly swollen. "Doesn't it feel- weird to kiss me?" Jungkook shakes his head with a smile. "No, not at all. It is actually the best feeling ever."
Taehyung hides his face behind his hands, probably blushing furiously. Jungkook chuckles at his cute reaction. "What?" "Nothing," Taehyung mumbles into his hands. Jungkook smiles and grabbed his friend's wrists, pulls his hands off his face. "What is it? Are you shy now?"
Taehyung is a blushing mess, but his eyes glints with delight. "We kissed and it's a new experience for me- for us. "I enjoy this experience. And you are fvcking cute." Jungkook leans in and kisses his friend again, with a need that has grown even more intense.
"I, I cooked something," Taehyung mumbles against his lips. Jungkook smirks. "I thought cooking was a one time thing for my birthday-" "Shut up," Taehyung mumbles and pecks his lips. "Mhh, I like it when you silence me with your lips. Do it more often from now on."
🚒
They ate Taehyung's delicious pasta and started to clean up the kitchen when Jungkook's phone vibrates in his pocket. It's a text from his team leader. "Shit. It's work," Jungkook mutters with a groan.
"What is it?" "Fvck." Taehyung turns around and faces him. "Don't tell me you need to leave." "There is a big fire in the woods close to the highway. It's an emergency," Jungkook says with a sigh. He is tired and he just wants to spend the night cuddling and kissing Taehyung.
"No." Taehyung pouts. Jungkook wraps his arms around him, smells his strawberry shampoo. "I want to stay here with you." "Then stay- you just came back. Don't go," Taehyung whines and throws his arms around Jungkook's neck, hugs him back tightly. "I am not letting you go."
"I need to help. They are calling every firefighter in the area. He texted me that it's a huge fire." Taehyung plants a kiss on Jungkook's neck and leans away to look at him. "But you seem really tired already. I will worry about you." He pouts cutely.
Jungkook wants to eat him. He kisses Taehyung. He needs to remind himself that this is real, and that he can kiss his friend whenever he wants to from now on. "I will be okay. Don't worry your pretty head. You don't want the woods to burn down to ashes, right?"
"No." Taehyung sighs, looking adorable when he sticks his lip out. "Of course not" Jungkook gives him a soft peck. He really wants to stay home, hates being a firefighter for the first time. "You can stay the night again if you want to. I don't know when I will be back, though."
"I will clean the kitchen and wait for you. Please, call me later to let me know that everything is alright." "I will." Taehyung cups Jungkook's face in his palms and kisses him. Softly at first, then more deeply. It feels like he can't get enough of him as well.
"Yah! Don't make it so hard for me to leave," Jungkook murmurs against his lips, feels the urge to call in sick. No one would believe him though, and he can't turn his colleagues down. Taehyung pouts with puppy-like eyes. "You make it hard for me to let you go."
Jungkook smiles and reaches out to ruffle Taehyung's hair. "We are fvcking cheesy. I love it. But- I seriously need to go now." Jungkook kisses him one last time before turning around to leave the apartment.
ᖴᒪᗩᔕᕼᗷᗩᑕK 🩰 "How dare you talk to an adult like that?!" "You don't deserve being treated otherwise. How can you act to your own son like that?" Jungkook is furious. He's standing in front of Taehyung's father- ready to fight that man for good.
"It is none of your fvcking business! I won't talk about this with a twelve year old." "I am 15." "I don't care. Stop meddling with my business! He is my son, and if I don't want him to dance, then I am allowed to say that."
Jungkook is getting madder by the second. "You don't deserve a son like Tae. He is always nice to you- even though you make him feel like he's worthless. You don't support him at all, and-" Taehyung's father grabs Jungkook's arm in a painful grip. "Shut up!"
"Or what? You want to beat up a child?" "I will if you keep-" "Dad! Let go of him!" Taehyung yells and rushes towards them. He's out of breath, has been probably running all the way here. "Let go!" He grabs his father's wrist and tries to pull his hand off of Jungkook's arm.
"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at your girly dance practice, ballerina?" Mr. Kim asks his son mockingly, but lets go of Jungkook's arm. "Shut the fvck up!" Jungkook hisses, ready to throw a punch.
"Kookie, let's go," Taehyung mumbles and ignores his father. He places his hand on Jungkook's chest and pushes him to create more distance. "Come on! It's okay."
They walk off the Kim's property. Taehyung lets go off Jungkook's arm. He is mad- Jungkook can tell by his posture. "Tae, is everything alright-"
"Why did you confront him?" Taehyung stops walking and turns around to glare at him. His face is flushed. Jungkook sighs softly. "I am sorry. I didn't plan to. He was just there and started to-" "I told you that my dad is like that. I don't care- so you shouldn't either."
"But I care! I care if he talks bullshit about you." Taehyung runs a hand through his hair. "I know. Still- it won't change a thing." He takes Jungkook's hand and pulls him closer to inspect his arm. "Does it hurt? It will probably bruise. You made him really mad." "Good."
Jungkook leans in and pecks Taehyung's forehead. He feels a warmth spread through him he can't explain. "I don't give a shit if he is mad. I will protect what is mine." Taehyung sighs, but smiles at him with a tiny blush. "But- am I yours?" "Yes."
[ See you soon. ✌ ] [ Two chapters are left 👀 ]
Tҽɳ 🩰 Taehyung is back to dance practice one week later. Another big event is coming up and he's excited because it's the first time that his whole family will come to watch him dance on stage- even his father. #taekookau
Taehyung is trying to focus on his steps, but his mind keeps wandering and he keeps thinking about Jungkook all the time. They had kissed and made out, and now he can't forget his friend's lips, his arms, his body- Jungkook's intent eyes looking at him with want.
Every feeling, every sensation is new, but it's making Taehyung excited- and makes him lose his sanity. He had not seen Jungkook for the past two days because his friend had to work a lot. Taehyung misses him like crazy. „Hey, watch out!“
Taehyung halts in his steps as he almost bumps into Siwon- being too lost in thoughts. „I am sorry. I wasn't paying attention.“ Siwon puts an arm around his waist, pulls Taehyung against his body. „No problem. But what is wrong with you anyway? You seem pretty absentminded.“
Taehyung pulls away. Siwon is sweaty. "Nothing. I was just in thoughts. I will pay more attention from now on." Siwon nods, but keeps staring at him with a smirk. "What? What is it?"
"I don´t know. You just seem different. You are- glowing." Taehyung blushes and turns his face away. Siwon sighs with a chuckle. "I would love to be the reason for your flustered self- but I am sure that it is him."
"Who?" Taehyung follows Siwon's eyes to the left. He is surprised to see Jungkook sitting on the steps. "Oh." Taehyung walks towards him- not able to resist a smile. "Hey, shouldn't you be at work right now?" he asks and steps in front of his friend. He is happy too see him.
Instead of answering, Jungkook reaches out and grabs Taehyung's hips, pulls him on his lap. "Hi, pretty. I am on my break, and I felt the need to see you," Jungkook says before placing a soft kiss on Taehyung's lips. "Am I allowed to do this here?"
Taehyung feels butterflies in his stomach when Jungkook starts to lean in to kiss him again. "It's okay, but we are in public. Behave," Taehyung murmurs and gets up, suddenly feeling shy to show affection in front of others.
"What is it? I am bevaving. Believe me," Jungkook says with an easygoing smile, looking too sexy for his own good. Taehyung takes a look around, but no one of the other dancers seems to pay attention to them.
"Are you feeling uncomfortable?" Jungkook asks, studying his face. Taehyung faces him again. He smiles. "No!" "Okay. Because you were flirting with Siwon right in front of my eyes- and it seems alright to-" "I didn´t," Taehyung says with a frown. "Don't say that."
Jungkook smirks. He is obviously teasing him. "But you did. How could you do that to me? You are hurting my feelings, and you make me jealous," he utters with a playful pout. Taehyung crosses his arms in front of his chest. "Did you come here to mock me?"
"No." Jungkook's expression turns serious. "I came here to see you. I missed you. My break is only thirty minutes long. I needed ten minutes to come here- so I only can stay for another ten, but it is worth it," he says and reaches for Taehyung's hand, intertwining their fingers.
Taehyung's heart warms at his words and he is sure he's blushing. "Why are you so cheesy?" "You like it though, right?" Taehyung wants to kiss that smirk off Jungkook's handsome face, but he is too shy to do that in front of the other dancers. "I do," he admits in a whisper.
Jungkook stands up and leans in, places a sweet kiss on Taehyung's earlobe. "You look really hot while dancing, by the way. I have never noticed it before." Taehyung shivers at the sensation running through his body. He pushes Jungkook away. His blush deepens. "Stop it."
"And you are cute as fvck." "I told you to stop." Jungkook laughs and snakes his arms around Taehyung's waist, pulls him close. He gazes at him for a long moment before his expression gets serious. "Why can't I stay away from you anymore, huh? I feel like an addict."
Taehyung rests his forehead against Jungkook's- feeling as if he will combust very soon. "You are embarrassing me in front of the others- but I still like it." Jungkook chuckles and tightens the hold around his waist. "I want them to know that you are mine."
Taehyung raises his head and smiles at him. "Aren't you too possessive right now?" Jungkook shrugs. "I guess, I am." He places a kiss on Taehyung's forehead. "Are you excited because your family is coming to watch you perform next week?"
"I am nervous." "Don't be. You are amazing. They will see that- even your stupid father. " Taehyung brushes his thumb over Jungkook's cheekbone. "Don't fight him, okay?" "I will try."
🩰🩰
It's the day of his big performance. Taehyung has already spotted his family sitting in the first row. They are making him more than nervous. He feels a little sick and he is in pain after practising a lot in the past few days- but he needs to ignore that.
Taehyung peeks behind the curtain again and sees Jungkook being there as well. He is talking to his brother. A warmth of calmness spreads through Taehyung's chest in an instant. Everything will be alright.
Taehyung was wrong. He starts with his dance performance and after a short moment, he stumbles over a thick cable which is laying in the farthest corner of the stage. No one had seemed to notice it. No one had put it away before the beginning of the show.
Taehyung makes a turn and a jump and lands right on top of the cable, which sends him reeling backward- causes him to fall off the stage. The sharp pain in his arm makes him cry out. Taehyung feels nauseous, but he doesn't care about that right now. He failed.
He has failed his big performance in front of his whole family. Taehyung feels like crying. The music stops playing. It's suddenly very quiet. "Baby!"
Taehyung turns his head and stares up at Jungkook. The latter is hovering over him. He cups his face in his warm hands. There's a panicked expression on his face. "Don't touch him! He could have broken something," an unfamiliar voice says in the background.
"I am fine," Taehyung mumbles. "It's just my arm," he adds, but he suddenly starts to feel very drowsy. That's weird. He has a hard time to keep his eyes open. "Kookie, what's going on-"
Something is not right. Jungkook's expression is horrified by now- his eyes showing a lot of concern. "Don't move, baby. You are going to be alright. You are going to be fine. I am here."
Taehyung frowns. "Why shouldn't it be fine?" He is sure that he's doing alright, but he starts to feel weaker by the second. Something seems to be wrong after all. He looks at Jungkook's handsome face once again before closing his eyes. He smells blood.
🩰
Jungkook is walking back and forth. He's in the waiting room, fvcking scared and worried. Remembering the blood around Taehyung's head makes him shudder. He feels the urge to cry, but he need to keep his composure in front of his friend's family.
"Honey, don't worry. The doctor said he is going to be alright," Ms. Kim says and pats his back. Jungkook nods mutely. She should be even more worried as a mother. He turns his head to glance at the empty seat next to Taehyung's brother. "Where is Mr. Kim?"
"He will be here very soon. He- he needs to check something first." "Sure." Jungkook scoffs, not believing a word she is saying. But he's not in the mood to think about that asshole of a father right now.
Jungkook continues to walk back and forth. He runs a hand through his hair. He can't get the horrible image of Taehyung's accident out of his head. When he had noticed his friend stumbling, he had jumped out of his seat and rushed towards the stage, but he had been too late.
"Are you really alright, honey? You look awfully pale." Taehyung's mother approaches him again. "You should sit down. You can cry if you-" "Shouldn't you be the one crying-" Jungkook trails off and scratches his neck. "I'm sorry. I am just very tensed and worried right now."
Taehyung's mother nods with a soft sigh. "It is okay. I know how much you like him." "He is my-" The doors to the ER opens and the doctor enters the waiting room. "Family Kim?"
Jungkook turns around and faces the doctor, feeling impatient. "How is he?" "Taehyung is doing fine. It was just a blessur and fortunately, he didn't have inner bleedings. He needs to wear a cast on his arm for a few weeks though- but his head is alright."
"Thank God," Ms. Kim says and places a hand on her chest. Jungkook almost starts balling his eyes out in relief. He's so fvcking happy- the fear subsiding slowly. "He is already awake and he wants to see someone named Jungkook."
Taehyung's mother faces him with a small smile. "That's always the first person my son wants to see." "I am Jungkook. That's me." "You can go inside." Jungkook walks through the doors. His heart is still trying to calm down after all the horrible things that had happened.
As soon as Jungkook enters the room, Taehyung stumbles in his direction. "What the fvck are you doing? You need to stay in-" Taehyung crashes into him, silences him with his lips. The force of the kiss surprises Jungkook, but he wraps an arm around him, kisses Taehyung back.
Jungkook knows his friend should probably be in bed right now, but he's too overwhelmed by the feeling of Taehyung's lips. He can't push him away. He is a weak man, has missed him a lot. "I wanted to do this for days. I missed your lips," Taehyung breathes against his mouth.
"Hey, baby. You are still under drugs, and you need to lie down again, okay? Come on," Jungkook mumbles and guides Taehyung back towards the bed, helps him to sit on the mattress.
Taehyung clutches the hem of Jungkook's shirt, not letting go. A pout forms on his face. "Stay with me, please." "You don't have to ask me that. I am not going anywhere, baby." Jungkook sits next to him and places a hand on his Taehyung's knee.
Taehyung sighs and rubs his eye. "I messed up the performance, didn't I?" Jungkook scoffs. He knows ballet os important to him, but his performance is the least of Jungkook's concerns right now. He bops Taehyung's nose. "You messed up my heart."
"I didn't want you to worry," Taehyung mumbles apologetically and takes Jungkook's hand to intertwine their fingers. "Sorry." "It wasn't your fault, baby. They didn't check the stage beforehand. I will probably k!ll the person who is responsible for the safety."
Taehyung chuckles and squeezes his hand. "You won't. You are a firefighter. You don't hurt other people, remember?" Jungkook sighs and turns his head, presses a soft kiss on Taehyung's forehead. "I don't. But I will start hurting others if they let you get in danger."
"I know. That's just how you are, hmm?" Taehyung raises their joined hands to his lips, places two kisses on Jungkook's knuckles. "Is my mom and my brother outside?" "Yes, of course. They are here. You want me to get them?" Jungkook asks and moves to stand up.
Taehyung doesn't let go of his hand. "No, not yet. You are the only one I want to see right now." He pauses and smiles. "You called me baby." Jungkook smirks. "I did. Do you hate it?" Taehyung snuggled into him, rests his head on his shoulder. "I don't. I love it."
"Good." Jungkook turns his face and presses a kiss on Taehyung's forehead. "Because I want to call you boyfriend from now on, too. Is this okay?" "Yes." Taehyung nods and squeezes his hand. "Finally" "I love you. Don't scare me like this anymore" "I love you, too- boyfriend."
