Our democracy is in danger. On January 6, 2021, for the first time in American history, the peaceful transition of power was interrupted. The January 6th coup failed, but its architects are already planning the next one.

The insurrectionists have not been defeated; with no accountability, they have become emboldened. In the hours after the attack on the Capitol, the vast majority of Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives voted against certifying the 2020 election results.

In the U.S. Senate, Republicans continue to filibuster voting rights bills and pro-democracy legislation. In state legislatures across the country, Republicans are pushing through voter suppression and voter subversion laws.
