[ Taehyung's father gets his son a bodyguard. Taehyung hates it -or maybe not? ] #taekookau

ONE 🔘 Taehyung hated it. He hated his life. He had everything he needed, but he still hated it. His parents were rich- Taehyung didn't have to worry about money. He had even started studying at a famous elite university not long ago. And still- Taehyung hated his life.
Taehyung's father was a politician, candidating for the next government election. Everyone knew him. Everyone knew his only son. That fact was making Taehyung's life a living hell.
Some people had tried to befriend him, hoping to gain something from his popularity. Others hated him because they despised Taehyung's father and the ideas and viewpoint he was representing. There was no inbetween.
In one form or another Taehyung had coped with everything pretty well over the past few months. No one had prepared Taehyung what was to come though. He hadn't been prepared for /him/.
Taehyung's father had called him into his office one month before the winner of the election would be known. „Tae. I need to tell you something.“ Mr. Kim sat in his leather chair- a lot of papers on the table in front of him. His office was full of reports and monographs.
„What is it, dad? I still need to study." Taehyung sat down on the wooden chair, facing his father. He was tired. He had studied a lot these past days. The first semester would end in two weeks and he needed to pass his exams with good grades.
Mr. Kim adjusted his glasses and chuckled. „Fine. Then I will just say it." He cleared his throat. "I got you a bodyguard.“ Huh? Taehyung had expected a lot- just not this. What did his father just say?  A bodyguard? Was he serious? „What? What are you talking about?“
Mr. Kim took a sip of his coffee and kept his expression neutral. „We're getting more and more threats. Many of them are directed to you as well. People know who you are and where you study. It is getting dangerous for you. Your mother and I need to know that you are safe.“
Taehyung shook his head in confusion. That couldn't be true. „But- what? No. I don't want a babysitter! I am 21 for fuck's sake. I can take care of myself.“ „Language! And it's not a question. It's already settled- at least until the election is over. Then we can talk again.“
Taehyung stood up and stomped his foot on the carpet. He felt treated like a child. „Dad! How do you think the other students will react if I would walk around with a fucking bodyguard in tow? It is already hard as it is. Do you want to destroy my life for good?"
"Taehyung, stop cursing!" Mr. Kim sighed. „He is your age. And he won't wear suspicious clothes. No one has to know that he's a bodyguard.“ My age?  Taehyung scoffed. „He is as old as me? Is it a rookie? Not even a professional? Why do I need someone like that?“
Mr. Kim sighed again. He was probably already tired of their discussion. „He is young, yes. But he is a professional bodyguard. He comes from a bodyguard family. He will do a great job and protect you if needed. It is just for your safety.“
"I don't fucking care. I don't need one.“ „Language! Jungkook should be here any second and you will get to know him. He is nice. Your mother and I have already decided anyway. That's it. If you don't cooperate, we will have to take you out of university.“ Seriously?
Taehyung felt betrayed. „You are blackmailing me? Your own son?“ „No. We are protecting you. The world is not as peaceful as you think. There are a lot of bad people out there who don't want me to win the election and they would do everything to-"
"Just drop it, dad." Taehyung scoffed and turned around, heading towards the door. „I heard enough. Whatever. If that is everything you wanted to say- I need to study now." Taehyung hurried outside, almost bumping into a person in the process.
Taehyung tripped back a step and looked up. The first thing he saw was a chest. A broad, firm looking chest. Taehyung let his eyes wander and almost started drooling. Fuck.
Almost six-foot-something of tall, muscular and handsome was standing before him. He had short black hair and big brown eyes that examined Taehyung with curiosity. Who the hell was that?
„Hi. You must be Taehyung. I am Jungkook and I will be your-" Hell, no. Jungkook? Taehyung frowned as he realized who that guy was. He was his bodyguard- admittedly, a pretty hot one, but Taehyung still didn't want it. „I don't give a fuck.“
"Okay." Taehyung left Jungkook standing there and headed towards his room. He was mad. He wanted a normal life. But it didn't look like he would get one any time soon. Not with a fucking bodyguard in tow.
✭・.・✫ Taehyung woke up next morning- thirsty and in a bad mood. His father had gotten him a fucking bodyguard. Nightmare. Getting out of bed, Taehyung stumbled down the stairs. He walked into the kitchen like a zombie in a half-asleep state and opened the refrigerator.
"Nice pajama. Did you buy it in the kids' section?" What the- Startled, Taehyung almost dropped the water bottle out of his hand. He closed the refrigerator and turned around, widening his eyes in surprise. "You?"
Jungkook- his fucking bodyguard, was sitting at their kitchen table, eating /his/ cereals. The nerve he had. Or was Taehyung still dreaming? And if he was- why was he dreaming about that guy?
"What the fuck are you doing here?" Taehyung put the bottle on the counter before he would do something stupid and throw it at that guy. "I am working. I am your bodyguard," Jungkook replied nonchalantly and stood up, facing him with a smile. "Don't smile at me."
"Okay." "What are you doing here?" "As I said, I am your bodyguard. I would have loved to introduce myself better, but you didn't give me the chance, so- here we are." Jungkook looked at him with another small, enigmatic smile playing around the corners of his mouth.
Taehyung crossed his arms in front of his chest, suddenly aware that he was wearing his superman pajamas today of all days. It had been a gift from his grandmother. He didn't give a shit about his clothes in bed. Normally no one else would see them- apart from his parents.
Taehyung wasn't even a fan of superman. He felt awkward and cleared his throat. "My father hired you to accompany me when I am in college. You don't have to pick me up from home."
Jungkook scratched his head with a shrug. "I am not picking you up. I actually slept here. I was hired for 24/7 protection." No fucking way.
"You- what?" Taehyung couldn't believe his ears. His father had not even informed him about that.  24/7? Taehyung took the bottle and opened it. "You know what? I don't care what my father told you. I don't need your protection. Do whatever you want. I don't give a shit."
"That's not how it works though." After taking a big sip, Taehyung put the bottle back on the counter before stepping closer to Jungkook. He tried not to be intimidated by the width of his shoulders or the muscles playing under his shirt.
"Look, I don't care how it normally works, okay? Don't follow me around. I don't need you!" Jungkook sighed, rolling his eyes at him. "You have no other choice. Your parents will make you drop out of university if you-"
"I know that, alright? And don't fucking roll your eyes at me." Taehyung grabbed a bowl and poured some cereals into it. He tried to ignore Jungkook as much as possible, but that was not easy since that guy was fucking broad, standing right in front of him.
Taehyung poured himself some milk and sat down. He shoved a spoonful in his mouth, chewing on it fiercely, feeling annoyed. Then he glanced up at Jungkook who was still standing there, watching him. "What? What do you want?" "Nothing."
Taehyung let his spoon sink into his bowl. "How old are you anyway? You look fucking young." "I am 23- which makes me older than you." "Whatever." Taehyung peeked at him from beneath his bangs. "And how long do you already work as a bodyguard?"
Jungkook finally moved and sat down at the other side of the table. "I am working for my family's company. I started at 17. Every one of us was or is a bodyguard. Even the women in our family."
Taehyung shoved another spoonful of cereals into his mouth, trying not to show too much interest. But he was curious. "And what happened to the last person you have been protecting?" "He died."
Taehyung choked on his cereals and started coughing- hand covering his mouth. "What?"
"Relax. He died because of his age. He was 86 when I started working for him. A rich retiree, living in a villa. He had won the lottery and had a lot of enemies. He lived a good life. He did everything he wanted to. Women, traveling. He died a year ago- peacefully in his sleep"
"And why didn't you get another job after that?" Jungkook smirked as he replied, "It's interesting. You ask a lot of questions for someone who seems not to care."
Taehyung scoffed and stood up, putting his bowl into the sink. "I don't care. I just want to know a little more about the guy who apparently is going to live in our house." He turned, eying Jungkook curiously. "So- what did you do after he died?"
"I helped with the organization in our company. 'Jeon's Protection Squad' hired some new bodyguards in the past three years and there were a lot of things to do." Wait.
"JPS? You are a Jeon?" Taehyung had already heard of the company. They were famous for having the best bodyguards in the southern part of the country. Not a rookie after all. Taehyung cursed inwardly. "Why didn't your father send someone else then? Why you?"
Jungkook stood up and put his bowl into the sink as well. He then turned around and glanced at him. "Your father wants only the best for you. That's why." Taehyung scoffed again.  Arrogant bastard.  "The best? Why are you here then and not someone else?"
"Not bad. You can be funny, huh?" Jungkook chuckled. "You wouldn't want a man twice your age to hang around you, right?" Taehyung grimaced in annoyance. Jungkook was probably very good. He hated him already.
"So, what are you going to do today?" "It is none of your fucking business. Leave me alone." Taehyung knew that he sounded like a huffy teenager, but he had the right to. He had never asked for a bodyguard in the first place.
Jungkook shrugged. He seemed not to be affected by his attitude. "I want to know what to wear. But I can also go in this." Taehyung eyed him. He was wearing black sweatpants and a plain white shirt. He would probably look good in anything and that fact bothered Taehyung.
"I don't have any lectures today. I will just head to the library and will be back in a bit. No need to accompany me." "I will come with you anyway. If you want it or not." Taehyung shook his head. "No, you won't."
Jungkook seemed to enjoy their bickering- judging by the sheepish grin plastered on his face. "Yes. Yes, I will. Either we go together or I will follow you in secret. It is called 24 hours of protection for a reason. And I am the best. I can handle you."
Handling him?  "Fuck you." Taehyung glared at him. "And what should I tell my friends if they see me with you? Who are you? A new student? My new neighbor or-" "I heard you don't have friends."
"I am sorry, what? Of course, I have friends. What are you even saying?" Taehyung was getting really annoyed because of his fucking bodyguard. Who did he even think he was? "You don't know me, okay? Stop making assumptions."
Jungkook crossed his arms in front of his chest. The casual pose tightened his shirt,  showing off his biceps. "Yeah- if you say so. People who are using you are no friends though. But you can tell them that I am your cousin if you want to."
Taehyung groaned out of frustration. He wanted to punch something. This whole situation was making him mad. This guy was making him mad. He turned around and started hitting his forehead against the cupboard- at first lightly then harder.
"What did I even do to deserve this?" Taehyung muttered under his breath. Suddenly he felt a warm hand against his forehead- his skin tingling from the touch. Taehyung turned his eyes slowly on his bodyguard.
Jungkook pulled his hand away- his expression softer than before. "Since I am here to protect you, I would appreciate it if you wouldn't hurt yourself," he said, eyes boring into Taehyung's.
"Don't- don't touch me." Taehyung stepped away with a sigh though feeling flustered by Jungkook's sudden closeness. "I will take a shower now. Or do you want to accompany me into the bathroom as well?"
"If you need protection while showering- I can do that," Jungkook replied serious, but smiled a bit. "Protection my ass," Taehyung muttered under his breath and showed him the middle finger before leaving the kitchen. He hated that guy so much.
✭・.・✫ Taehyung was heading to the library on campus- with Jungkook in tow. He had accepted the fact that there was no way to make his bodyguard stay at home. Jungkook was taking his duties fucking serious. Annoying as fuck.
Taehyung stopped walking and faced Jungkook, causing his bodyguard almost to bump into him. "What are you doing? Why are you walking behind me?" "I got your back?" Jungkook replied with a shrug, winking at him.
"Funny. Very funny. Did you learn your lame jokes at the bodyguard academy?" Taehyung hissed and grabbed Jungkook's arm, pulling him next to himself. "Just walk beside me. We are almost on campus and I don't want others to get suspicious."
Jungkook chuckled. "Others? Do you mean your /friends/?" "Shut up!" They continued walking and Taehyung didn't miss the stares from other students, walking past them. He was used to be stared at because of his father. And Taehyung knew that he wasn't bad looking either.
But Jungkook was like a spectacle on campus right now. He was new and handsome. Taehyung glared in his direction, his eyes turning on Jungkook's white shirt. "What are you even wearing? You should act like a student. Why did you dress so formal?"
Jungkook scanned their surrounding like they were walking on military ground. Then he faced him. "I can't hide my gun inside some sweatpants, can I?" Taehyung stopped in his tracks, gawking at him. Was this guy telling the truth? "You brought a gun-"
Jungkook quickly put his hand on Taehyung's mouth. "Seriously? Do you want everyone to know about it? Lower your voice!" Taehyung pushed Jungkook away, getting nervous because of their closeness once again.
"Why did you bring one? Are you crazy?" Taehyung whispered in a hiss. He had never seen a real gun before, though he was sure his father had one, hiding it somewhere in his office. But this situation was just crazy.
"I am a bodyguard. How do you expect me to protect you? With my fists only?" "But- are you even allowed to have one. Is it legal? Do you even know how to shoot?" Taehyung asked, whispering the last part.
Jungkook rolled his eyes with a scoff. "Are you serious? I work in a professional company as a professional /bodyguard/. What are you even asking?" "How should I know? I have never been in such a situation before. So- shut up!" Taehyung turned around and kept walking.
Jungkook caught up with him and started smiling at random students. "Stop doing that! And- don't shoot me by accident. I can't believe dad hired a bodyguard. This is so fucked up," Taehyung muttered under his breath, hating every second of this day.
They arrived in front of the library and Taehyung turned around to face Jungkook. "Just wait here. I will be right back." "Good morning," the female student greeted Taehyung as he entered the building. She looked like a bookworm, wearing thick, horn-rimmed glasses.
"Morning." "Hey. How are you?" No way. Taehyung stopped walking as soon as he heard his voice. He turned around and glared at Jungkook who had followed him inside. "I told you to wait for me, didn't I?"
Jungkook walked past him, not even pretending to listen. "I haven't been in a library in years. Let me take a look." Taehyung groaned. That guy was making him crazy. But he didn't have time for his stupid games. He turned around and headed towards the stairs.
It was still pretty early and not a lot of students were around. Thank God. Taehyung hated crowded libraries the most. He walked towards the economy section and started looking for two books. "Hey, Tae."
Taehyung turned around, facing Hawon. He was a student from his class with a thin, pointy face and small eyes, wearing the same hoodie as always. They had never talked with each other before. Hawon was a bit creepy. Taehyung had caught him staring at him from time to time.
"Hi, Hawon." "Good to see you. What are you looking for? Maybe I can help you." Taehyung shook his head and smiled at him politely. "Oh- no, don't worry. I know where to find it. Thank you."
Taehyung turned around, but could still feel Hawon's presence behind him. He didn't like how the other was invading his personal space. "I don't mind helping a classmate. I already found my books. I have time," Hawon said, placing a hand on Taehyung's waist all of a sudden.
Taehyung spun around. That guy was definitely up to something. "Hey, can you give me some space, please?" Taehyung's father had told him not to make a fuss if not needed- since every situation could affect the election.
"Why are you like this? I am just trying to help you," Hawon said with a pout. Then a slow and fairly creepy smile spread over his face as he let his hand wander down to Taehyung's hip, moving lower. What the fuck was happening?
Taehyung wanted to kick his balls. Was that asshole making a move on him right now? "Hey, stop touching me!" "Come on." Hawon pressed his body against his, causing the shelf to dig into Taehyung's back. "I haven't even started yet."
Before Taehyung could push him away, Jungkook appeared behind his classmate. He seemed furious as he grabbed Hawon's arm, twisting it behind his back. It looked painful. Hawon let out a howl. "What? W-who are you? You are hurting me," he let out, squirming to get away.
"It hurts? Good," Jungkook hissed, the veins on his neck standing out as he tightened his grip. Taehyung was impressed because of his bodyguard's skills. Jungkook was definitely not a rookie. And he looked hot doing his job.
Hawon started to groan out of pain. Taehyung knew that he had to interfere before Jungkook would do something dumb and pull out his gun. "Hey, calm down," he mumbled and rested his hand on his bodyguard's shoulder. He leaned in and whispered, "Let go of him, idiot!"
Jungkook grimaced and looked from Taehyung to Hawon and back to Taehyung. He waited another ten full seconds before loosening his grip. Hawon straightened up and turned around. He looked startled. "Who-who are /you/? Why did you do this to me? That hurt like hell."
"It was supposed to hurt." Taehyung stepped inbetween them and pushed Jungkook aside. He faked a laugh and scratched his head. "Hey, Hawon. I have to apologize for my cousin here. He has a /minor/ aggression problem. He probably thought that I am in danger and-"
"That asshole was sexually assaulting you. You /were/ in danger." Taehyung shot a glare at his bodyguard, motioning him to shut up. Then he looked back at Hawon who was rubbing his arm with a painful expression on his face. It would definitely leave a bruise.
"I am sure this was just a big misunderstanding, right? No need to make a big fuss." "Yeah, man- I was just messing with you. I-I wasn't trying to do something weird- really," Hawon mumbled, peeking at Jungkook- probably scared as shit because of him.
"Leave," Jungkook said, his expression cold. "Never get close to my cousin again." "No- I mean, yes. I won't." Hawon bowed to him before rushing away. What the-
Jungkook's serious face turned into a sudden smile that created laugh lines around his eyes and lips. "I am not sure, but I think he pissed his pants a little bit."
Taehyung let out a sigh, relieved that the situation had not escalated. Then he stepped closer to Jungkook, jabbing his finger into his chest. "Yah! What the fuck was that? Are you for real? You can't attack other students like that!"
"Why? I just saw you getting pressed against the shelf by some dick. I am your bodyguard. I don't care who he is," Jungkook replied while adjusting his shirt. "You can call yourself lucky that I didn't pull out my gun."
Taehyung huffed and tried to push him away, but Jungkook didn't budge. "Leave me alone. Didn't you want to take a look at the library? Give me some space." Jungkook leaned his back against the shelf. He yawned and stared at Taehyung blankly.
"There's nothing to see around here. Libraries are no fun. I will just wait here." Taehyung groaned, getting more and more annoyed because of him. He squeezed past Jungkook with a scoff. "Fine. Wait here. I will go back downstairs." Jungkook followed him seconds later.
TWO 🔘 It was already late. Taehyung had been studying for the past three hours, glad that Jungkook had not insisted to stay in his room. He was getting on his nerves a lot. Three days had passed since his bodyguard had started living in their house. #taekookau
Taehyung would see Jungkook every time as soon as he stepped out of his room. His bodyguard was in the hallway, in the living room, watching TV, eating in the kitchen or just walking around the house like he had nothing better to do. Annoying as fuck.
Taehyung stretched and stood up. He was tired. He grabbed his towel and left the room, heading towards the bathroom. When he placed his hand on the handle, the door opened from the other side. Taehyung jumped back, startled- his jaw dropping at the sight in front of him.
Jungkook walked out of the bathroom, half naked- his wet hair dripping on his bare shoulder. His skin was glistening after taking a shower. Jungkook looked stunning. His body was a work of art. Chest, arms, abs. He was perfect.
Taehyung tried to calm his pounding heart. He was attracted to Jungkook- there was no reason to deny it. But he was only attracted to his bodyguard's face and body. That's it. Taehyung cleared his throat, averting his eyes.
"Do you want to use the bathroom? I just took a hot shower. You should wait for a moment." Taehyung turned his eyes back at him, a single drop of water sliding down Jungkook's cheek was distracting him. He gulped. "Yah- why didn't you use the guest bathroom as you should?"
Jungkook ran a hand through his wet hair, his face flushed. "The hot water wasn't running." "And you just use our  bathroom?" Jungkook chuckled, leaning against the wall. "Is there a problem? Your dad told me I can use everything in the house. He told me to feel at home."
Taehyung groaned. His father was the worst, only caring about his election. Nothing else. His eyes turned on Jungkook's chest without realizing it.  Fuck him and his muscular body.  "Whatever. Can you move aside now?"
"Why? Don't you like what you see?" Jungkook asked in a teasing voice. Seriously? Taehyung scoffed. He couldn't stand his bodyguard's arrogant ass. "No one wants to see that, alright? You are not as hot as you think you are."
Jungkook stepped closer, dipping his head. "So- you think I am hot?" "No!" Taehyung said, voice getting higher. "But you are the one who thinks that- judging by your behavior," he added quickly, trying not to blush because of the slip of his tongue. Why did he just say that?
"Sure," Jungkook mumbled with a smirk, obviously not believing him. He started walking away. "Don't fall for me." What? With a scoff, Taehyung turned around, flapping a hand in dismissal. He trudged after Jungkook, glaring at his muscular back.
"Why would I ever fall for you? I can't stand your ass. And I don't need your protection! I am perfectly fine without you. Stay the fuck away from me." "Why are you yelling inside the house, Tae?" Mr. Kim stormed out of his office, looking like he hadn't slept in days.
"I am sitting at my speech. Could you please lower your voice? What's wrong here?" "What's wrong? You ask what is wrong, dad? You got me a fucking /bodyguard/! That is wrong!" Taehyung yelled before heading inside the sticky bathroom, shutting the door with a thud.
✭・.・✫ Taehyung walked back to his room after he had brushed his teeth. He was surprised to see Jungkook leaning against his door. Fortunately, he was dressed now, but his expression was sour.
"Listen to me. You can't change the fact that your dad hired me as your bodyguard, okay? And I will stay- if you like it or not. I don't care. So- spare yourself some energy and trouble and just accept it."
Taehyung stopped in front of him, crossing his arms in front of his chest. Did Jungkook get scolded by his dad or why was he suddenly behaving like this? "Are you even allowed to speak to me like that?"
Jungkook sighed with a mixture of frustration and tiredness. "I was hired for your protection- not for sugar talking. Some bodyguards would love to kill such annoying, fucking noisy clients like you. But it's their job to keep their asses safe and alive, unfortunately."
Taehyung scoffed, not believing that Jungkook was talking to him like that. "Did you just say that you want to kill me? Was this a threat?" "No. I'm saying that I don't give a shit about you. I'm just doing my job. Deal with it" Jungkook said and turned around, walking away.
"Yah!" Taehyung followed him. "Did you wait for me to get out of the bathroom just to tell me that?" In his rage, Taehyung stumbled over the carpet edge on his way to the foyer, nearly falling on his face.
Jungkook turned around and looked down at him as if to make sure that he was okay. Then he let out a deep breath and walked away. "Fuck you," Taehyung yelled behind him. "You want to mess with me, asshole? I will make you quit this job before the election is over."
THREE 🔘 He climbed out the window. Like a fucking teenager Taehyung was sneaking out the house. He only wanted to go to the university without his annoying bodyguard accompanying him. #taekookau
Taehyung was determined to make Jungkook quit the bodyguard job on his own. He managed to get outside, but not without scraping his arm in the process. It bled a little but it was worth it. Taehyung could finally leave the house without that pain in the ass in tow.
But he wasn't lucky. Taehyung could hear steps behind himself and a familiar chuckle a moment later.  Please, not. "You really thought I wouldn't notice?" Jungkook asked, his voice showing amusement. Fuck you.
Taehyung slowly turned around, hating to admit that Jungkook was smarter than he had thought. He glared at him. Jungkook was smiling. He seemed to be in a better mood than the night before- wearing jeans and a black plain shirt. "How did you notice?"
Jungkook chuckled again and stepped closer. "First of all, there are security cameras in your backyard -in case you haven't known that yet. I happen to take a look at them while walking past the office."  "Great."
Jungkook's eyes turned on Taehyung's arm and he grabbed his wrist gently, examining the cut with a frown. "Also- if you jump out of the window of your room, you land right next to the the big window in your hallway," Jungkook added before letting go of his wrist.
"I hate you," Taehyung muttered as he locked eyes with him for a long moment. "I really do." "I know. I am aware. But I already told you that I am one of the best bodyguards- and you shouldn't waste your energy by trying to trick me."
"Cocky bastard." Taehyung scoffed and turned around to continue walking- his skin still tingling from Jungkook's touch. His body was betraying him like so often. "Just shut up and don't bother me anymore."
They arrived at campus a moment later. Taehyung was walking with quick steps, letting Jungkook know that he didn't want him around. He needed to make him mad somehow. He needed to provoke his bodyguard so that he would quit. It was naive thinking, but he still wanted to try.
Taehyung's eyes turned on his classmate Wohu. He was one of the guys Taehyung would call a friend, though he was sure that the other just wanted to gain something from his father's popularity. But right now, Wohu should be a good means to an end. "Hey, how are you doing?"
Wohu turned to him and smiled. "Hi. Long time no see. Studying really takes up all my time." "It sure does." Taehyung wrapped an arm around his shoulder, trying to prove Jungkook that he /had/ friends. "Let's go inside."
"How is your dad doing?" Wohu asked as they entered the building. Here we go. Although Taehyung had realized long ago that his classmates were just using him- it still hurt. No one cared about him as a person. "He is pretty busy preparing his speeches."
Wohu hummed. "Ah, really? So- are you going to be there, for his speech? Will you say something as well?" he asked as they entered the lecture hall. Taehyung looked over his shoulder, but couldn't spot Jungkook. He had probably stayed outside. He faced Wohu again.
"No, I won't be there. I am not into my father's politics. I have no impact on his speeches or whatsoever." Wohu hummed again. "I see." He paused, scratching his head. "Well, okay. I am going to sit over there, joining my friends. See you around."
"Yeah, sure," Taehyung mumbled before sitting in the second row by himself. Resting his elbow on the table with his hand tucked under his chin, he stared out the window.  What a fucked up life.
It would probably always be like that. People weren't interested in him. They didn't even want to get to know him. Everything was about his father. It was frustrating. And sad. Taehyung sighed, trying to focus on the professor.
✭・.・✫ Taehyung spotted Jungkook outside after the lecture was done. Three girls were standing around his bodyguard, drooling over him.  Of course.  Taehyung rolled his eyes and walked past them, hoping that Jungkook wouldn't see him. But he wasn't that lucky.
"Okay, there's my cousin. I need to go. Bye girls," Jungkook said before catching up with him. Taehyung ignored his bodyguard. He wasn't in the mood. It was one of those days where he felt like everything was bad and the whole universe didn't care about him.
"What's with that face? Did you get a bad grade?" "Shut up." Jungkook chuckled and kept walking beside him. "Those girls were fucking clingy, man. It is tough to be as good looking as me. But I guess you-"
"Shut up! I don't give a fuck, okay?" Taehyung snapped, not looking in his direction. His mood was getting worse by the second. "Wow. Was that grade that bad?" Jungkook joked, jabbing an elbow into his side.
Taehyung pulled away and ignored him. His life was messed up. He didn't have any friends. He didn't feel well prepared for the exams. He was mad at his dad and as if all of that wasn't enough- there was that annoying bodyguard, following his every move.
Even his mother had disappointed Taehyung. She was never home, working as a stewardess- flying around the world. Taehyung couldn't even remember the last time he had seen her. "Hey- careful!"
"Huh-" Jungkook reached out and grabbed Taehyung's arm, yanking him back- causing him to crash against his bodyguard's chest. "What are you doing? Do you want to die?"
A truck honked as it was passing them, kicking up a cloud of dust. Taehyung had been so deep in thoughts that he had not even realized that the pedestrian light was red.  "Oh."
"Oh?" Jungkook's arm was wrapped around his waist and the half-hug was giving Taehyung some comfort and warmth he didn't know he needed. Still, Taehyung pulled away from Jungkook and turned around with a pout- his heart hammering in his chest.
"What is wrong with you, seriously?!" Jungkook hissed, his hand still holding onto Taehyung's arm- not letting go until the lights turned green again. "Nothing."
They crossed the street and continued walking side by side. "Nothing? You look like the most depressed person right now. Are you jealous because I talked to those girls?"
Taehyung knew Jungkook was just joking, but something snapped in him. He stopped walking and turned around, glaring at his bodyguard. "You know what? Not everything is about you, okay? I have a life besides my father's fucked up election and besides you. So- shut the fuck up."
Jungkook whistled through his teeth. "And you told that horny dude in the library, that I am the one with the aggression problem." "Shut up." Taehyung slammed his fist against Jungkook's chest. "This isn't funny! I hate you." He was getting emotional, feeling like crying.
Jungkook cupped Taehyung's fist in his hand, looking concerned. "Hey, what's wrong with you?" Taehyung pulled away and turned around. He wouldn't break down in front of his stupid bodyguard. "Just leave me alone," he whispered in a choked voice before starting to run.
"What? Hey- wait." Jungkook followed Taehyung and caught up with him real quick. He grabbed Taehyung's arm, turning him around. "What is wrong? Are you okay?" The sincerity and concern behind Jungkook's question was evident in the strained tone of his voice.
Taehyung kept staring at the ground. He felt too tired to fight with him and he also didn't want to talk about his problems. "Just let go of my arm, please." "No. You are not safe right now."
"What are you talking about? Let go!" Taehyung hissed and raised his head to face Jungkook. He was surprised to see a soft look in his bodyguard's eyes. It was confusing him.
"Listen, I have no idea what happened, but you are in an emotional distraught right now. You have been almost run over by a car. I can't leave you alone in such a state. Let me accompany you home. I'll keep my mouth shut, I promise. Just don't run away, okay?"
"Okay," Taehyung mumbled before continuing to walk. It was not making sense to run away from him anyway. Jungkook was too fast. There was a beat of silence, then Jungkook cleared his throat. "I am sorry for joking around. I didn't know that you were dealing with something."
FOUR 🔘 Two weeks had passed since Jungkook had started working for the Kims. His relationship with Taehyung had slightly shifted in another direction. They were still bickering with each other all the time, but the hate had toned down a bit. #taekookau
Taehyung had accepted the fact that Jungkook would be around him 24/7 for the next few weeks. He had also understood that his bodyguard didn't want to annoy him on purpose- that he was actually just doing his job. And he was doing a good job.
Mr. Kim seemed to be in a bad mood as he came into the kitchen with quick steps, sighing annoyed. "Hi, dad," Taehyung greeted him while eating his cereals. His father took a look into the dining area before turning his eyes on his son. "Where is Jungkook?"
Taehyung shrugged. He didn't really care. It always felt like a break when his bodyguard wasn't around for a change. "I don't know. Maybe he is still asleep." Mr. Kim grimaced and glanced at his watch. "It's 10 in the morning. He has to work. How can he still be asleep?"
Taehyung rolled his eyes, sinking his spoon into the bowl. "I don't know, dad. I am not planning to go anywhere today, so it's fine, I guess." Why couldn't he just eat his cereals in peace? "Go check on him."
"What? No. Why should I? I am enjoying my peaceful morning." Mr. Kim stepped behind Taehyung, placing his hand on his son's shoulder. "Go and wake him up. Now. I will not ask again."
Taehyung groaned, but stood up. He knew his father would bother him until he would do whatever he wanted him to. It was the same strategy he would use with politicians. "I am fucking 21. Why are you still talking to me as if I am a kid?"
"Language!" "Language my ass," Taehyung mumbled with a scoff before leaving the kitchen, heading towards the stairs. He arrived in front of the guest room, knocking at the door. There was no reply.
"Jungkook?" Taehyung knocked again. No reply, nothing. Brat. "Okay, listen, I don't care about you- but my dad wants me to get you, so I am coming inside now," Taehyung said through the closed door, hoping that Jungkook was not naked.
Taehyung entered slowly. The room was still dark. "Jungkook, are you serious? You are still asleep? My dad is in a pretty bad mood today and if you don't want to get in trouble, you better-" Taehyung trailed off after switching the light on, staring at the bed.
Jungkook was laying on his back, his cheeks flushed. His face was pale, sweat was glistening on his forehead. "What's wrong?" Taehyung asked, feeling something like worry surge in his chest. He stepped closer, studying his bodyguard's face. "Jungkook. Are you sick?"
"No- just, just give me a second. I will be right with you," Jungkook mumbled weakly, his eyes still closed. Taehyung leaned in and placed his hand on his forehead. "You have a fever. You /are/ sick."
It felt weird to see Jungkook in that state. He had been always acting as the tough bodyguard. He seemed like a little boy now- looking vulnerable. And he needed medicine. "I will be back in a second," Taehyung said, but Jungkook grabbed his hand before he could pull away.
"No. Don't go, please," Jungkook whined in a lower voice. Taehyung assumed that his bodyguard was having a fever dream. His skin was heated- Taehyung could even feel it through his clothes. "Just wait here. I will get you something to reduce your fever, okay?"
"Nooo," Jungkook whined again, clutching Taehyung's arm with his other hand. "Don't go." "Jungkook I will be right back. Let go of my-" "Stay with me. I don't want to be alone," his oh-so-tough bodyguard whimpered in a childlike voice.
Cute. The endearing sight of Jungkook made Taehyung's heart swell in his chest. He almost wanted to coo at him. He sighed. "Alright, alright. I am staying with you. Calm down."
Jungkook hummed satisfied and let go of his arm, eyes still closed. Taehyung used the chance to get up, heading towards the door. He could hear Jungkook's whining as he hurried into the bathroom, opening their cabinet. He took a thermometer and some medicine.
Taehyung walked back into the guest room and almost bumped into Jungkook, who was standing right in front of him. "Hey, what the fuck are you doing? Go back into bed." "But you left me," Jungkook whined with a pout. "You tricked me."
Taehyung threw the stuff on the mattress before wrapping an arm around Jungkook's waist, steadying him. "I came back, didn't I? Go back to bed." Jungkook clutched the hem of his shirt instantly, probably scared that Taehyung will leave again. "Don't go away again."
"You are a clingy sick person, seriously. I don't want to be around when you are drunk," Taehyung mumbled and helped his bodyguard to lay down again, sitting next to him. He held the pill in front of Jungkook's lips. "Take this."
Jungkook swallowed the pill before laying down on his side, resting his head on the pillow. His hand was still clutching Taehyung's shirt tightly. "Where did you get sick, huh? What did you do last night?"
Jungkook mumbled something incoherent. He seemed to be drifting back to sleep. Taehyung reached out and brushed Jungkook's bangs off his sweaty forehead. Then he stilled, realizing what he was doing. What the fuck? Why was he taking care of him? What was wrong with him?
Taehyung turned his eyes back on Jungkook's sleeping face. "If you only wouldn't be that handsome," he whispered, admiring his bodyguard's features.
FIVE 🔘 Taehyung was walking home after his last lecture had ended. It was already late and dark. He was alone. Jungkook was feeling better, but Mr. Kim had given him two days off. Taehyung was happy, enjoying his freedom for once. #taekookau
Taehyung turned left to take a short cut through the park. He heard some footsteps after a while. Taehyung looked back to see a dark figure walking behind him. The person was wearing all black with a cap on his or her head.
Taehyung started to walk faster. "Don't be paranoid," he mumbled to himself. He turned around a corner, hoping that the person would walk the other way, but he could still hear the footsteps following him. Should he start running? Should he turn around and confront the person?
Taehyung cursed. Why was Jungkook not around when he could need him for real? Maybe he was just overreacting though. Taehyung slowed his pace, hoping the person would pass him. But he or she didn't. Taehyung started panicking, feeling scared. He quickened his steps again.
In his panic, Taehyung pulled out his phone, dialing Jungkook's number. "Hey. What do you want? I am not working today, so-" "Someone is following me." There was a beat of silence. "What? Are you sure? Where are you?"
Taehyung rolled his eyes, almost stumbling over some garbage plastered on the ground. "Yes, I am sure, Jungkook! I am in the park. What should I do now? Call the cops?"
There was some rustling at the other end of the line. "Why the fuck would you walk through the park in the middle of the night?" Taehyung scoffed. "Is that important right now?" He glanced back. The person was still following him. "You should rather tell me what to do."
"The cops will take too long. I am already on my way. Get out of that fucking park and walk along the main road, got it? I will meet you there." "Don't talk to me like that." "Taehyung! Do what I told you!"
Why did he even call Jungkook? That brat was just- "Yah! Did you hear what I just said?" "Yes. Hurry up." Taehyung shoved his phone back into his pocket and started to jog. He didn't notice a branch hanging low, slapping him across his face painfully. "Fuck."
The dark figure started to walk faster and Taehyung decided to get out of the fucking park right now. He turned to his left and fought his way through the trees before climbing over the fence.
Taehyung reached the main street and spotted Jungkook's car at the bus stop. A surge of relieve washed through him. The door opened and his bodyguard got out, walking towards him with quick steps.
A frown was on Jungkook's face as his eyes were scanning their surroundings. Taehyung turned his head back, but the person was gone. He faced Jungkook who closed the distance, studying his features.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" Taehyung was still out of breath and on the verge of crying. He had been scared as hell. He smacked his fist against Jungkook's chest. "Where have you been, huh?"
Jungkook looked behind Taehyung, probably making sure that there was no one following him. Then he turned his eyes back on Taehyung. "What do you mean? I came as fast as-"
Taehyung smacked his fist against Jungkook's chest again, letting his anger out on him- though it wasn't even his fault. "You are my /bodyguard/. You should protect me 24/7! Why weren't you here when I needed you? I was scared."
"Hey, calm down. Everything is alright. Who followed you? I don't see anyone." "I don't know. I climbed over the fucking fence. Maybe the person stayed in the park." Taehyung took a shaky breath, glaring at Jungkook. "It is all your fault. If you would have been here, then-"
Jungkook cupped Taehyung's face, brushing his thumb along his cheek. "You have a bruise here. What happened?" Taehyung's skin tingled from his touch- his anger slowly turning into defeat. He sighed softly and pouted. "I ran into a branch."
"You ran into a branch," Jungkook repeated with a chuckle, locking eyes with Taehyung. "But you are not hurt, right? Get in the car and wait for me." What?
"Wait for you? Why? Do you need to pee?" Jungkook rolled his eyes before stepping away. "How did that person look like?" "I think it was a guy. He was wearing black with a cap on his head. I didn't see his face though, I was busy getting away from him, but- why?"
"Go in the car." No. Taehyung clutched Jungkook's arm, balling up the sleeve of his shirt in his fist. "No! What are you planning to do?" "I will go check if that asshole is still around."
Taehyung tightened his grip on his shirt. He didn't like that. "No, no- let's just leave, okay? Don't go there. It is dark and-" "Yah." Jungkook pried Taehyung's hand off his shirt. "What are you saying? I am a bodyguard. I am not scared. I can handle him."
"Don't." Taehyung didn't want that. He just wanted to go back home. And he wanted Jungkook to come back with him right now. He clutched his bodyguard's arm once again. "Please, don't leave me alone."
Jungkook glanced at his hand before turning his eyes on Taehyung's face. "What is wrong with you? Are you in shock?" "No, but- let's just go to the car and leave, okay? I am sure that guy has already left anyway."
Jungkook groaned, prying Taehyung's hand away one more time. "Let me go see real quick, okay? I will be with you in a minute-" "No! Why are you so stubborn?" Taehyung felt desperate, frustrated and overwhelmed. And then all these feelings combined turned into heated tears.
Jungkook's face fell into a worried grimace. "Hey- what's wrong? Why are you crying? Are you hurt somewhere?" he asked, letting his eyes wander down his body. "No." Taehyung shook his head vigorously, tears flying off his cheek. He felt ashamed.
"You are confusing me. What is it?" Jungkook pressed- his voice more gentle now. "Just don't leave. Please." Jungkook cupped Taehyung's face, wiping his tears with the pad of his thumb. "Stupid, is that the reason why you are crying? Are you that scared to stay alone?"
Taehyung sniffed and pouted. His face felt warm from Jungkook's sudden touch- creating little sparks throughout his body. "I am not stupid."
Jungkook smiled, his eyes sparkling warmly at him. "Then stop crying. Why don't you want me to go and check if that asshole is still there?" "I will worry, okay? I will worry because of you," Taehyung replied- the words coming out of him before he could stop them.
SIX 🔘 Mr. Kim came into the living room while Taehyung was watching TV. Jungkook was in the kitchen, cooking ramyun. As it turned out, his bodyguard was a great cook and he loved doing that from time to time. #taekookau
"Son, we need to talk." Taehyung resisted the urge to pull a grimace. There was never coming something good after his father would tell him that they need to talk. "What is it?"
"Your mom and I decided that you will join me tonight, for my speech." Taehyung faced him with widened eyes. "What? No! Why?" he asked while Jungkook entered the living room, wearing an apron.
"The other's candidate's family is always with him, supporting him through the whole process. Why shouldn't you- at least for once?" Taehyung cursed under his breath. He didn't choose to be the son of a politician. But what could he reply to that?
"When will we need to be there?" Jungkook asked, untying his apron. Mr. Kim looked at him. "You don't need to accompany us. You can take the evening off. My two bodyguards should be enough."
Jungkook grimaced, shifting from one foot to the other. "I's prefer to join you." Why would he? Taehyung glared at Jungkook. "No way. The media will be there. I don't want my classmates to see you. They don't know that you are my bodyguard- in case you've forgotten."
Jungkook ignored him. "Let me join you, sir. I'll stay in the back." Mr. Kim nodded with a shrug. "If you want to work tonight by all means- who am I to stop you? We are leaving at 6." He faced Taehyung again. "Be ready and wear a suit," he added before leaving the room.
Taehyung felt betrayed. Why was everyone ignoring him in this house? "Yah! Didn't you hear me?" Taehyung snapped at Jungkook. "I said no. You are not coming with us."
"Look- your dad's bodyguards are hired to protect /him/. Even if there are two of them, their main focus is on your dad's safety. If something happens, they'll maybe try to protect you as well- but their first priority will still be your dad. Believe me, I know the ropes."
Taehyung stood up and crossed his arms in front of his chest, eyeing Jungkook. "Oh please. It is not like someone is going to attack me tonight. My father is not that  important." "Did you forget the guy from the park yesterday? You never know who will be there tonight."
Taehyung didn't forget. And he also didn't forget what he had said to Jungkook in his vulnerable state. He had been embarassing as fuck. But why would his bodyguard want to work tonight if he didn't even need to? Taehyung was too scared to ask.
Jungkook came closer and raised his hand, lightly flicking his forehead. "What are you thinking so hard about?" Taehyung slid his hands up between them and pressed against Jungkook's chest, pushing him away. "None of your business. And don't get into my personal space."
Jungkook chuckled, biting his lip. "But I am your /personal/ bodyguard." "Shut up," Taehyung hissed and walked past him to get ready for the evening.
✭・.・✫ Some podest had been build on a small stage in the middle of the marketplace. Taehyung felt uncomfortable. His father had forced him to wear a suit without a coat. It was fucking cold outside and he tried hard not to shiver in front of the people.
His mother hadn't come. Again, she needed to jump in for a sick colleague. Taehyung wasn't sure if she was telling the truth, slowly assuming that she was having an affair. His mother had promised them that she would quit her job soon, but Taehyung doubted that as well.
Taehyung let his eyes wander around the crowd. He couldn't spot Jungkook. His bodyguard was keeping his word, staying somewhere in the back. Taehyung turned his head, eyeing his father's bodyguards. They seemed to be the total opposite of Jungkook.
Apart from the fact that they were at least 15 years older, his father's bodyguards looked deadpan serious. Those two were probably no fun to be around. Taehyung furrowed his brows as the realization hit him. Did he like having Jungkook around?
Mr. Kim started his boring speech a moment later. Taehyung didn't care what he was saying- he wasn't even listening to him. He wanted to go home and do something else. Everything would be better than standing here. Actually, he should rather study for his exam.
Some journalists started asking questions after a while. Taehyung was fucking bored, resisting the urge to pull out his phone and play something on it. He would never come to something like that ever again. That was definitely a one-time thing.
"Can I ask your son a question?" Taehyung looked up, widening his eyes. Why would they want to ask him? He was just decoration. Mr. Kim looked at Taehyung with a fake smile on his face before turning back to the journalist. "Of course, you can. That's why he is here."
Seriously?! Taehyung wanted to jump off the stage and run away. Why was his father betraying him like that? "Mr. Kim junior, as we can see, you are supporting your father. Do you share the same opinion on everything?"
Well, fuck. How should he answer that if he didn't even know what his father was representing? Taehyung cleared his throat, stepping in front of the microphone. "He is my father. I support him in everything that he is doing."
"What do you think about his idea to shut down old factories?" Taehyung started sweating. All eyes were on him. He had no idea what to say. Should he just tell them the truth, revealing that he didn't give a shit about his father's election?
Mr. Kim started laughing. "My son is not used to talk in front of so many people yet." Taehyung stepped back, feeling embarrassed. And awkward. He would never get used to talk in front of the media because he wasn't planning to do it again. He hated his father right now.
After a few more questions the torture ended and everyone started leaving. Taehyung was mad. He rushed down the stage- just wanting to leave this fucked up place. Someone grabbed his arm in the process, holding him back. "Where are you going?"
"Leave me alone, Jungkook. I'm not in the mood." Taehyung freed his arm, heading to the fountain. He sat down and leaned against it, hiding his face in his hands. Jungkook sat next to him. "I told you to leave me alone. You're not even working tonight. You're free to go."
"Why are you so upset? Everything was fine. You-" "Shut up, Jungkook. Everything was /not/ fine!" Taehyung pulled his hands away, glaring at him. "I was standing on that stage, looking like a fool- not knowing what to say. Everyone thinks I am a loser."
"No one thinks that. Your father is a public person. Journalists love to bother the family of the candidates. Don't take it to heart. You were doing alright. You were supporting your dad with your presence. You were looking handsome in your suit. People liked that."
Did he just compliment him? Taehyung didn't want to think about that right now. "Thanks for the lecture. Can you leave me alone now?" "I don't want to."
Taehyung groaned. He Was not in the mood to fight with him. "Why not?" "Because you are upset." "So?" Jungkook looked at him, his eyes revealing nothing of what might be going through his head right now. "So- I don't like to see you upset. I care about you."
✭・.・✫ Taehyung couldn't sleep. He was turning and tossing from one side to the other. He couldn't forget Jungkook's words. Why did he say that? He cares about him? Was he messing with him? Did he say it out of pity?
Taehyung turned on his stomach, groaning into his pillow. As soon as Jungkook had said that, his father had called them, so Taehyung hadn't the chance to ask. He glanced at the time. It was already after midnight. Taehyung decided to get some fresh air.
The balcony was on the other side of the hallway. It was dark outside and there were no lights. Taehyung opened the door and almost screamed. Jungkook was standing outside, smoking. "What the fuck are you doing here? You scared the shit out of me!"
Jungkook didn't seem surprised to see Taehyung- giving him a tired smile. "I could ask you the same question." Taehyung wrapped his arms around himself. It was cold. "I couldn't sleep." Jungkook blew out the smoke through his nostrils. "Me neither."
Taehyung hummed and pretended to look at the trees while watching Jungkook out of the corner of his eye. "I didn't know you smoke." "Normally I don't."
Taehyung faced him, tilting his head curiously. "But you are doing it right now." Jungkook glanced at him. "Yes, I do," he mumbled and took another drag. "I only smoke when I am stressed." Taehyung supported his hands on the railing. "Why are you stressed?"
"Because of you." Huh? Taehyung scoffed. "Why? Is the job too hard for you? Are you already tired to handle me?" Jungkook chuckled with a shake of his head. "Yeah- something like that."
Taehyung hmphed. "I am not that easy to handle- I told you." Jungkook snipped his cigarette away before stepping closer, eyeing him up and down. "Why are you awake? Why can't you sleep?"
Taehyung shrugged, looking away. He definitely wouldn't tell Jungkook that he couldn't fall asleep because he kept thinking about his words. "Just- because. I don't even know."
Jungkook hummed, still staring at him intently. Taehyung started to feel uncomfortable- being sure that a blush was rising to his cheeks. "What is it?" "What?" "Why are you looking at me like that?"
Something flickered in Jungkook's eyes. "Do you know the number one rule for bodyguards?" Taehyung was surprised by the sudden change of subject, but decided to play along. "Well, it could be something like- protect your client at all costs?"
Jungkook shook his head slowly, eyes fixed on Taehyung's face. "No. That is not a rule- that is our job." He paused, softly poking a finger into Taehyung's chest. "The number one rule is: never fall in love with the client."
Taehyung's heart started to beat faster without any plausible reason. How did they end up talking about something like that? "W-what? Are you kidding?" Jungkook shifted closer, his eyes holding Taehyung's. "No, it's the truth."
"That's crazy. Why would anyone fall in love with his client?" Jungkook smirked with a mischievous glint in his big doe eyes.  "Yeah- why would anyone do that?"
Taehyung looked everywhere but at Jungkook, feeling his face growing warm. He could give no logical explanation why the air between them suddenly became electrically charged. "But why are you telling me this out of nowhere?"
Jungkook leaned back with a long sigh. "I want you to know." He paused, his eyes boring into Taehyung's. "So- don't make me fall for you," he added before moving towards the door. "Good night, Taehyung." Then Jungkook left. Just like that.
What? Taehyung kept looking at the closed balcony door, dumbfounded. What the fuck was that? What did Jungkook mean by that? Taehyung was confused. But his bodyguard's words had made his heart do an odd little skip, causing his pulse to race.
SEVEN 🔘 Taehyung had finished his exam. He was tired since he had studied the whole night before, but it was worth it. He walked out of the building, spotting Jungkook outside, leaning against a tree, looking at his phone. Taehyung bumped into him on purpose. #taekookau
Jungkook looked up, startled, almost dropping his phone out of his hand. "What the- Don't scare me like that! Fuck." Taehyung smirked. "You are a bodyguard. How can you be scared so easily? And shouldn't you rather pay attention than staring at your phone?"
"Shut up. Let's go. What's with the good mood anyway? I am not used to it," Jungkook said as they started walking back home. "My exam is over. And I guess I did good. So- let me be happy for a second."
They crossed the street and Taehyung sighed. "I am so tired. I need to sleep for the-" He trailed off, noticing Jungkook's serious face. He was looking around, acting suspicious. "What is it?" Jungkook faced him briefly. "Huh? What? Nothing. Why?"
"You're acting weird all of a sudden. Is something wrong?" Taehyung asked, scratching his head. "Is my good mood bothering you? Beca-" Jungkook grabbed his arm without a warning, pulling him closer to himself as they continued walking. "What are you doing? You startled me!"
"Someone is following us." "What?" Taehyung turned around, not seeing anyone. "Who? There is no one." Jungkook stopped walking and scanned his surrounding- still keeping Taehyung close to himself.
"There was a guy. He just walked into the other direction. I have already seen him earlier on campus. He looked like he was waiting for someone, but then he started following us. Maybe it's the one from the park." Jungkook let go of Taehyung's arm. "Wait here. I go find him."
What? Before Taehyung had the chance to grab for his arm, Jungkook was already running away. "Seriously? What the fuck!" Taehyung was frustrated. And worried. What if that guy had a knife? Jungkook could be in danger. Taehyung hissed and started to follow his bodyguard.
He got closer to the park, hoping that he had run into the right direction. Taehyung's eyes fell on Jungkook a moment later and he let out a sigh of relief. "Yah! Don't do this again!" His bodyguard was walking towards him, but something was different. Taehyung gasped.
There was a cut on Jungkook's forehead just above his brow. A small line of dried blood had found its way around his eye and down his cheek. Taehyung hurried towards him. "Oh my god, what happened? Did he hit you?"
Seeing Jungkook like that did something to Taehyung's heart. Something that he couldn't explain. The cut didn't look even serious, but Taehyung still didn't like it. Jungkook groaned, rolling his eyes. "Don't ask."
Taehyung pulled a tissue out of his pocket. "What do you mean? Tell me what happened! What did he do? Where did he go?" he asked, reaching out to cup Jungkook's face.
"It wasn't him." Jungkook grimaced when Taehyung started to dab his wound gently. "I couldn't find him anymore." "What?" Taehyung locked eyes with him. "What do you mean? But where did you-" "I ran into a sign while rushing to get him, okay? And now- let's just go."
"You did- what?" Taehyung couldn't help and started laughing. And here he thought something bad had happened to his bodyguard. "Forget it." Jungkook cursed under his breath and pulled away, but Taehyung grabbed his arm. "Wait, wait. Let me finish cleaning your face."
Jungkook pouted but waited patiently until Taehyung was done. "You are making fun of me? I was trying to protect your-" Taehyung's hands came up to frame Jungkook's face again, holding him still. "I am sorry for laughing. But it's funny." He lowered his arms. "Don't be mad."
"I am not mad at you. I am mad because I didn't catch that asshole," Jungkook muttered, not taking his eyes off Taehyung's. "I wanted to beat him up for following you. For scaring you. Who knows what he's planning to do to you. Hurting you or-"
Taehyung silenced him by putting his finger on Jungkook's lips. He didn't miss the soft feeling of them, causing his stomach to flutter. "Don't fall in love with me." Taehyung meant it as a joke, but it came out more serious than intended.
Jungkook opened his mouth and closed it again. Something flickered in his eyes for an instant before it was gone. Then he turned his head, clearing his throat. "We should go now. At least now I know how this asshole looks like."
EIGHT 🔘 It was late on a Friday night. Taehyung was in his room, studying for his last exam. The first semester would end soon. A sudden knock on his door startled Taehyung. He glanced at the time- it was long after midnight. #taekookau
The person on the other side opened the door without waiting for Taehyung's response. "Hello~ it's me-me," Jungkook announced, stumbling into his room, being drunk as fuck.
Taehyung dropped his pen, staring at him dumbfounded. Then he got up from his chair, walking towards the door to close it. "What the fuck are you doing here?" Jungkook turned around, almost losing his balance. "I am- I am visiting you. Hello."
"You are drunk as fuck!" Taehyung hissed and crossed his arms in front of his chest. He could already smell a whiff of alcohol coming from Jungkook. "So-o? I am not working tonight- I can do whatever I want."
Taehyung clasped Jungkook's arm, steadying him before his bodyguard would lose his balance. "Still- you can't come to our house, drunk like that! If my dad sees you, he wi-" Jungkook silenced him by pressing two fingers on Taehyung's lips. "Don't worry. I won't tell him."
Taehyung groaned and pushed his hand away. "You need to go to your room, in your bed- like right now." "I want to stay in /your/ room. I like it here," Jungkook replied before taking a look around. "Wah, look at this- so many books." He staggered towards one of the shelves.
Taehyung followed him with a sigh. How should he handle drunk Jungkook? He had no idea. His bodyguard was adorable and annoying at the same time- making Taehyung question his own sanity.
Jungkook grabbed a book, causing two others to fall from the shelf. "Whoops- I am really sorry." Taehyung cursed under his breath. "Seriously, you need to go to bed. Now." He grabbed the economy book out of Jungkook's hands, putting it back on the shelf.
"Okay," Jungkook mumbled and moved to Taehyung's bed. "Yah! What are you doing?" "Going to sleep," Jungkook replied and sat down, looking up at Taehyung with a questioning look- as if it was normal for him to sleep in /his/ bed.
"Yah, I meant you should go to your bed! Not mine!" Jungkook ignored him, laying down comfortably. "Don't be selfish. I am protecting your ass all the time. Let me sleep in your bed at least once." Seriously?
"Yah! Get up!" Taehyung cursed and tugged at Jungkook's arm, but there was no chance to move his bodyguard if he didn't want to move. Jungkook was strong and heavy. "Seriously? Go away! You can't just sleep in my-"
Jungkook suddenly grabbed the front of Taehyung's shirt and pulled him towards him, causing Taehyung to end up hovering over him. "Don't be noisy. I am getting a headache because of you."
Taehyung stopped breathing- his heart was making summersaults. They were too close. He could smell Jungkook's perfume. And the alcohol. Taehyung stared at his pretty eyes and glanced at his soft lips. Everything about his bodyguard was driving Taehyung insane.
Fuck. Taehyung had to summon every inch of willpower he possessed not to kiss him right now. Fuck. "Why are you looking at me like that?" Jungkook asked in a murmur, licking his lower lip. Fuck.
Jungkook's eyes turned on his lips. "No." He gently pushed Taehyung off himself. "I can't." "W-what are you talking about?" Taehyung asked, now laying next to him- his heart threatening to jump out of his chest. Jungkook turned his head and eyed him intently. He didn't reply.
Taehyung felt things he shouldn't feel right now- his eyes falling on Jungkook's lips once again and he cursed inwardly. He needed to get a grip on himself. "Y-you are drunk. You should get up and go to your-" "I want to kiss you."
No. No. No. The sound of Jungkook's voice and his words sent goosebumps travelling across Taehyung's skin. He didn't dare to speak- half anxious, half excited about what was coming next. The sudden pull between them was undeniable. Taehyung felt like being drunk, too.
"But I can't. I am not allowed to." Taehyung gulped and turned his head away, facing the ceiling. "Who said that I would let you kiss me anyway?" He scoffed, trying to overplay the fact that Jungkook and his lips were making him fucking nervous. A lot.
Jungkook hummed. "If I break rule number one, I have to leave, you know?" He reached out and clumsily cupped the back of Taehyung's head, pulling his face to his. "And I can't leave you. Because I don't trust anyone else with your life."
"Jungkook, you are really drunk. You are talking nonsense. You should go to sleep now," Taehyung replied softly though the fierce protectiveness in his bodyguard's words made him shiver deep inside. Taehyung was getting scared of his feelings and thoughts.
"I still want to kiss you, though," Jungkook murmured with a pout, his eyes getting smaller. Don't say that. Taehyung grabbed the hand that was still cupping his head, pulling it away. Then he leaned in, placing a soft kiss on Jungkook's forehead.
"That should be enough, right? Go to sleep now," Taehyung mumbled before standing up, his heart beating wildly. He needed to leave. He needed to get away. His bodyguard was fucking dangerous. Why did he kiss his forehead? What was happening?
Taehyung looked down at Jungkook whose eyes were already closed. "Stay here. I will go sleep in the guest room." Taehyung knew that he hadn't a chance to force his bodyguard out of his bed. And he didn't trust himself to stay with him. He headed for the door.
"Thank you. Just- don't tell your dad that I want to kiss you," Jungkook murmured, his eyes still closed- cheeks flushed. Taehyung smiled at the cute sight. Actually, his bodyguard was too cute to be a bodyguard. "I won't tell him," he replied and left the room.
NINE 🔘 "Why are bodyguards not allowed to fall in love with their clients?" They were walking back from university. It had been three days since Jungkook had barged in Taehyung's room, drunk as fuck. They had never talked about that night again. #taekookau
Jungkook glanced at him, looking surprised. "Why are you asking all of a sudden?" "I am just curious. You told me about that number one rule, but I never asked why it exists," Taehyung replied, hoping that Jungkook wouldn't get suspicious.
Jungkook chuckled and shook his head. "You are weird." Taehyung was sure that his bodyguard couldn't remember anything from the night in his room. He had been wasted and had surely forgotten everything he had said to him in bed. "Tell me. I want to know."
Jungkook sighed and stopped walking, facing him. "Okay- listen. Protecting his annoying, stubborn client is the first priority of a bodyguard, alright? That is his main focus." Jungkook bopped Taehyung's nose.
"But the eyes of a bodyguard should always be on his surroundings- on the things around them. So- although I am looking at you, I can still see the car behind you or the couple, crossing the street. I notice what is happening around my client to prevent a dangerous situation."
Taehyung nodded. "Yeah, yeah, I understand that. Don't talk to me like I am a-" Jungkook stepped closer, bringing his face only inches away from Taehyung's. "If a bodyguard falls in love with a client, the focus shifts," he whispered, eyes drilling into his.
"His focus and his eyes are /only/ on that person. Everything else is out of his vision, everything else is not interesting anymore. In such a case, I wouldn't notice any potential harm because I keep looking at your face and your eyes and your lips."
Jungkook let out a deep breath. "If a bodyguard is too infatuated by his client- how can he notice anything else around him? That's why it's rule number one." Taehyung's cheeks felt hot. Jungkook was too close. It was making him nervous.
"Is your question answered now?" Jungkook asked and stepped away. Taehyung breathed deeply and tried to calm his heart, which seemed to be attempting to beat its way out through his chest very often lately. "Yeah- yeah it is."
They continued walking in silence. Taehyung couldn't stop thinking about that night and about Jungkook's words. Did he really want to kiss him? Or was he just talking nonsense in his drunken state?
"What is wrong?" Jungkook asked as they were waiting at the red pedestrian light. "Something seems to bother you." Taehyung faced him and shrugged. "It's nothing. I am just thinking."
"About what? Are you still worrying about your last exam? I am pretty sure you did good and-" "No, I am not thinking about university right now," Taehyung said and kept walking as the lights turned green again.
Jungkook grabbed his arm after they had crossed the street. "What is it then? Talk to me." Taehyung turned around and glared at him. He was mad. Why was he the only one, dealing with his feelings after Jungkook had said things in his drunken state- making him crazy.
"What's in your head-" "You! I am thinking about you!" Taehyung cleared his throat after an awkward silence. "I am thinking about the words you said to me." Jungkook frowned, his eyes scanning Taehyung's face. "What do you mean? What did I say to you?"
"Three days ago you came into my room, drunk as fuck. Don't you remember that? You even slept in my bed!" "Of course I remember waking up in your room," Jungkook replied, scratching his head. "But what did I say to you? Was it something offensive? I am sorry if-"
"No. No, you didn't offend me. You-" Taehyung trailed off. He was frustrated. How could he just say that? How could he tell Jungkook that he had wanted to kiss him? Taehyung sighed. "Forget it. It's nothing. Let's go."
Jungkook was still holding his arm, not letting go. He even pulled Taehyung closer so they were chest to chest. "I said something that is obviously bothering you- so just tell me about it. Don't make me feel bad."
Taehyung's hands were flat against Jungkook's chest and he could feel the warmth coming from his body. He resisted the urge to cuddle into his bodyguard. It was cold outside and he was freezing and it would be nice to get some warmth. But it wouldn't be appropriate.
"If you can't remember- then it didn't seem to be important. You were probably just rambling in your drunken state. So- forget about it." "Taehyung~ just tell me," Jungkook whined with a pout. "I will apologize and then we can continue living in peace."
"Peace my ass." Taehyung scoffed and stepped away, regretting that he had started talking about that subject at all. "Did I tell you that I want to kiss you?" "What? What did you just say?"
Jungkook smirked apologetically. "Oh god, I did, didn't I?" He let out a long sigh. "Don't worry- I want to kiss everyone after getting drunk. So, don't take it serious." What?
Taehyung was getting mad. "Are you for real? You looked at me with lovey-dovey eyes, saying you want to kiss me- and you tell that everyone?" He pushed Jungkook away. "You are playing with my feelings, telling me things you don't even mean? And then I need to deal with it?"
"But I was drunk." Jungkook tilted his head in confusion. "Why are you so worked up about all of this?" "Because of you, okay? You make me- argh! I hate you! I hated you from the beginning. And I should have never changed my feelings for you. So- just get out of my face!"
Taehyung turned around and started running away. Again. It was childish, but he didn't care. He was mad and frustrated. Jungkook caught up with him though and wrapped an arm around his waist, pulling Taehyung against his body.
"You- you confuse me so much. You really do. I don't have any idea what is going on in that pretty head of yours. I don't know what you want me to say." Taehyung scoffed, trying to create some distance between them, but Jungkook didn't let go. "I'll tell you what is going-"
"I am not done talking!" Jungkook stared at him intently, eyes darkening. "You know that I can't, right? I just- I can't."  "What do you mean?"
"Of course, I remember what I said to you that night. I wasn't even that drunk, but- I can't. I told you why. It is not like I don't want to and I am pretty sure you want it too, but- I can't lose this job. You are too important." Huh? "Jungkook, please, stop confusing me eve-"
"I want to kiss you, okay? I want to kiss you all the time." Jungkook pulled away and sighed. "Now, since we cleared that up, can we just forget about everything and go back home? It's cold."
Hearing those words made Taehyung happy. In a weird way it made him happy. If he was honest to himself, he wanted Jungkook to kiss him. But it was not allowed. And they shouldn't. But here he was- unable to change his feelings. "Does that mean- do you like me?"
"Taehyung, don't go there. We won't talk about this anymore. Got it?" Jungkook said and started moving, but Taehyung grabbed his arm, forcing his bodyguard to face him again.
"Let go of me." Taehyung studied Jungkook's handsome features- his eyes falling on those irresistible, pouty lips. He was a weak man, having a fat crush on his annoying but sexy and irresistible bodyguard. "Stop looking at me like that, Taehyung. I can't-"
Fuck it. Taehyung knew it was stupid. And it will probably lead to nothing good. But he couldn't hold back. "You can't- but I can." "No, don't-" Taehyung reached out and dived his hands into Jungkook's soft hair. Then he pressed his lips on his. Slowly. Carefully.
"Idiot. Why did you do that?" Jungkook whispered against his mouth. But despite his words, Jungkook wrapped an arm around Taehyung's waist, hauling him close to his body like he was weighing nothing. "Now that I know how your lips taste, how can I resist you any longer?"
✭・.・✫ "Listen, it was a mistake, okay? We-we really shouldn't have kissed each other," Jungkook mumbled after he had come into Taehyung's room next morning, looking like he hadn't slept the whole night.
"Huh? What?" Taehyung had just woken up a few minutes ago, staring at him with widened eyes. Jungkook ran a hand through his messy hair. "I am your bodyguard and if your dad finds out that we made out, he-"
"Shut up." Taehyung closed the distance. He studied Jungkook's face, knowing that he was struggling with himself. "You don't have to tell my dad about us, making out- right?" "But he could find out anyway."
Taehyung cupped Jungkook's cheek, leaning in. "He won't." "Tae-" "But I respect your choice. If you don't want me- I will keep my distance," Taehyung mumbled and started to pull away. He was bluffing, hoping that Jungkook would stop him.
"Fuck, no." Jungkook grabbed Taehyung by his waist, pulling him back. "You are a menace. And a distraction. Why are you doing this to me? I am a professional. I am not allowed to."
"Tell me something new." Taehyung rolled his eyes, but wrapped his arms around Jungkook's neck. "Why am I so irresistible? Why do I need to be such a hot, sexy bodyguard?" Jungkook mumbled with a teasing smile.
"Cocky bastard," Taehyung said, hands playing with the hair on Jungkook's nape. "I am. Too bad that my client is the most alluring person with the most addictive lips. I lost. You wrecked me."
"Good." Jungkook cupped Taehyung's chin and brushed his mouth over his. "You will get me in so much trouble-" Taehyung silenced him with a kiss. A long kiss that distracted them both.
The door opened and they sprang apart like guilty teenagers as Mr. Kim entered the room without a warning. "Son, we have to- oh, Jungkook. What are /you/ doing here?" He glanced at his golden watch. "It is still very early."
Taehung cursed inwardly, running a hand through his hair out of nervousness. "Dad, how about knocking before entering my room?" "I forgot. Why is your bodyguard in your room?" Jungkook cleared his throat. "I asked Taehyung about his plans today- so that I can get ready."
"It's Saturday." Mr. Kim raised his eyebrow in a question, but shrugged. "Whatever. Tae, I need you to accompany me again tomorrow night. It is the last time before the announcement of the winner. "
Taehyung groaned. "I don't want to," he replied with a pout, but felt relieved that his father hadn't seen them kissing. "This was not a question. Dress formal," Mr. Kim said before glancing at Jungkook. "You will join us." "Yes sir."
Mr. Kim eyed them curiously, scratching his neck. "Why are you two acting so weird? Did something happen?" "No," they replied simultaneously.
Taehyung's father grimaced. "Okay, if you say so," he muttered before leaving the room with a shake of his head. Jungkook breathed out a sigh of relief after they were alone again. "Fuck that was close. That's why I told you we shouldn't-"
Taehyung cupped his face and pressed a kiss on Jungkook's lips. He was addicted. "You are crazy. Your father almost caught us and the first thing you do is kissing me again?" "Why? You don't want me to?" Taehyung asked, batting his eyelashes at his bodyguard.
Jungkook wrapped his arms around his waist and pecked Taehyung's lips. "Little shit." Taehyung chuckled, but then he sighed. "I don't want to accompany my dad again." "You will get used to it. Don't worry."
"I don't want to get used to it. I hope he won't win." It was the first time Taehyung said it to someone else. "It's not like I don't want my dad to be happy. It's just that I-" "It's okay." Jungkook brushed Taehyung's bangs out of his eyes. "I know what you mean."
Taehyung smiled at him. "But I like the fact that you will join us." "Yah, don't think about getting in my pants during that event! I am a professional bodyguard. I will not allow it!"
Taehyung giggled before kissing the mole under Jungkook's lips. "We will see about that." "Brat." Jungkook dipped his head and captured Taehyung's mouth in a deep kiss.
TEN 🔘 Taehyung was tired. Two hours had already passed- two hours of a boring event where it had been his only task to be on stage, smiling and nodding in agreement. Taehyung seriously hated being the son of a politician. #taekookau
He kept looking back to catch a glimpse of Jungkook, but his bodyguard was partly hidden behind a curtain, and it was impossible to see him without stretching his neck in an obvious way. Taehung cursed inwardly. He missed him already. Missed his hands. His lips.
Scanning the room, Taehyung's eyes stopped on a ponytailed guy who seemed to be a reporter- judging by the camera hanging around his neck. But that man didn't seem to be interested in his father's speech. His focus was rather on Taehyung as he kept staring at him intently.
What the fuck? Taehyung wondered if that reporter was hired to check out the candidate's son- analyzing his every move. Taehyung felt uncomfortable and stepped back absentmindedly, bumping against the chair behind him.
Taehyung would love to sit down, but his father wouldn't like that. He smiled and tried to ignore the intrusive stares of the reporter. Taehyung didn't know why, but that guy was making him nervous. He tried not to look in his direction- deciding to ignore him.
Suddenly a murmur went through the crowd and before Taehyung could realize what was happening, Jungkook leaped onto the stage out of nowhere, wrapping his arm around his waist, dragging him behind the curtain. "What the-"
"Are you okay?" Taehyung bumped with his back against a table while clutching his bodyguard's arm. What was happening? Jungkook was breathing heavily, his expression fierce. "Hey- are you okay?" he asked again- eyes scanning Taehyung's face.
"I am fine," Taehyung mumbled softly, still not grasping what was going on. "What-" "You need to stay here. Don't come to the front!" Jungkook let go of Taehyung's waist and pulled away before rushing back towards the stage.
No. Taehyung's heart pounded against his chest. Was he in danger? Was his father in danger? Taehyung heard another murmur through the curtain- someone was yelling loudly. He felt scared and worried all of a sudden. What if Jungkook was in danger?
A moment later his father joined him backstage, accompanied by his bodyguard Denny. He looked startled. "Dad!" Mr. Kim turned around and rushed towards Taehyung, grabbing his arms. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
"I am fine. But- what happened?" Mr. Kim let out a long sigh and let go of Taehyung, scratching his neck. He seemed shaken. "Dad! Talk to me." "Thank God Jungkook was here," his father mumbled absentminded.
"What do you mean?" Taehyung asked, still waiting for an explanation. "There was this man. He-he was sitting in the first row, looking like a reporter. He pulled out a knife and ran on stage. He was heading in your direction." Huh?
His words made Taehyung's stomach turn. His weird feeling hadn't fooled him after all. "I saw that guy." "I don't even know how Jungkook was able to react that fast. Not even my bodyguard had reacted as quickly as him," Mr. Kim explained, glaring at Denny for a second.
Taehyung felt a warmth spreading inside him- realizing that Jungkook had protected him. He wanted to see him right now- real bad. Why wasn't he here with him yet? "Thank God, they caught that asshole."
Taehyung nodded, staring at the closed curtain, hoping Jungkook would come back very soon. Mr. Kim followed his eyes. "He's waiting for the police to talk to them." Taehyung glanced at his father, feeling caught. "Who?" he asked, playing dumb.
Mr. Kim sighed with a shake of his head. "Your bodyguard. Son, I know he's handsome and nice, but do me a favor and don't fall in love with him." What? Taehyung cleared his throat and grimaced. "Are you serious? What are you talking about, dad?"
"I saw you gawking at Jungkook. Don't act innocent." Taehyung scoffed, trying to keep cool. "Don't worry. I'm not a weak teenager, falling in love with someone- just because his good-looking," he replied snippily, hoping his father wouldn't notice the act.
"Okay. If you say so. I warned you though. But-" "Sir, everything is clear. There is no danger anymore. People has left the building. We can go back," Denny interrupted him after receiving a call from his colleague.
Taehyung rushed back on stage, his eyes frantically searching for Jungkook. His bodyguard was talking to a policeman. Taehyung resisted the urge to approach him and wrap his arms around Jungkook's neck. He wanted to kiss him without thinking about the consequences.
Taehyung headed to the table to get a glass of water, suddenly being very thirsty. He felt someone stepping behind him a few seconds later. "Hey." A warm hand was placed on Taehyung's waist, causing goosebumps to rise all over his body.
"Hi." "Are you okay?" Jungkook whispered into his ear- breath tickling his skin. Taehyung almost dropped the glass, hitting his knee at the table as he turned around- his heart beating up into his throat. Jungkook was making him want something he couldn't have right now.
Jungkook stepped closer, but Taehyung shook his head, glancing at his father. Luckily, he was engrossed in a conversation and didn't seem to pay attention to them. "Keep your distance. Let's talk later," Taehyung whispered before raising his glass, taking a sip of water.
Jungkook seemed to understand. "But are you alright?" he asked with concern in his voice. "Yes. Thanks to you," Taehyung replied with a shy smile before averting his eyes. It was hard to resist Jungkook- especially when his bodyguard was looking fucking hot in his black suit.
✭・.・✫ Mr. Kim had stayed in the theater, still dealing with the incident while Jungkook and Taehyung had driven back home. As soon as they had entered the house, Taehyung had jumped his bodyguard with both legs locked around his waist. They had barely made it upstairs.
"What's gotten into you?" Jungkook asked with a chuckle while Taehyung was busy trailing kisses along his neck. "Mhh- I like the fact that my fucking hot bodyguard saved my life today," Taehyung said while turning his face just enough for his lips to meet Jungkook's.
Jungkook was trailing his fingers down Taehyung's chest. "You know that this is my job, right?" Taehyung raised his head, glaring at him playfully. "But it is not your /job/ to look that good while doing it."
Jungkook chuckled and pecked his lips. Then he got serious. "I was scared up there for a moment. I wasn't sure if I would get to you on time." "But you did," Taehyung replied before kissing him back. Then he remembered the conversation with his father and sighed.
"What is it? Why are you frowning?" "My dad- he is suspicious. He asked me if I am into you." "What?" Jungkook asked with panic in his voice, leaning away to support himself on his elbow. "Why would he think something like this? Did he see us?"
"No." Taehyung brushed the bangs out of his face. "Don't worry. He said that he can see it in my eyes- the way I look at you or something like that." Taehyung paused, locking his eyes with Jungkook's. "But I snapped at him for thinking like that and- I guess he believed me."
Jungkook sighed. "We have to be more careful," he murmured, caressing Taehyung's cheek with the back of his hand. "I need to stay by your side and protect you." Taehyung's heart fluttered. "My father knows that you are the best bodyguard ever. He would never let you go."
Jungkook turned on his back, looking up at the ceiling. "He would. If he finds out about us, he would kick me out of your house. Believe me. It doesn't matter how fast I reacted today."
Taehyung cupped his face, forcing his bodyguard to look at him. "He won't find out. I promise." Jungkook chuckled. "Then stop looking at me with lovey-dovey eyes."
Taehyung was sure he was blushing by now. "I am not looking at you like that." "Well- you obviously do." "I am not." Jungkook leaned in, hovering over him once again. "You do." He pressed a lingering kiss on Taehyung's lips. "And I like it." He kissed him again.
Taehyung whined as Jungkook started to lean away. He had not gotten enough affection for today. He curved his hand around his bodyguard's nape, pulling him closer. "Then show me how much you like it."
Jungkook chuckled in a sexy way. "Why? Aren't we needy today?" "Shut up and kiss me."
ELEVEN 🔘 The winner of the election would be announced today. Mr. Kim seemed very nervous, pacing back and forth inside the house. Taehyung didn't care. He didn't want him to win, didn't want to attend more events where people could attack them. #taekookau
"Did they say something about the election on TV?" Mr. Kim asked, entering the kitchen. "You are not candidating for president, dad. It's not that important. Why would they broadcast something about it?" Taehyung said before shoving a spoon of cereals in his mouth.
Jungkook softly kicked him under the table. Taehyung glared at him playfully. What? he mouthed, acting innocent. They both started grinning, looking away from each other.
"I am very happy to get such great support from my son. Thank you for that," Mr. Kim said sarcastically before taking a sip of his coffee. Taehyung rolled his eyes. "I have accompanied you to your events, almost getting stabbed for that. It's enough support for now."
Mr. Kim sighed. "Whatever. I need to make a call," he muttered before leaving the kitchen. Jungkook shook his head. "You're unbelievable. Don't you feel bad talking to your dad like that?"
"Like what?" "Like a brat." Taehyung smirked. "You kissed that brat after waking up today." "Because that brat's lips are very addictive."
Taehyung smiled. Then he sighed. "You know, I'm just being honest with my dad. Why should I fake enthusiasm like my mother, who is miles away from here and doesn't give a damn, only texting him encouraging things? She's probably screwing the pilot right now."
Jungkook grimaced. "Stop. I am eating." "I'm just telling the truth." "Okay." Taehyung watched his bodyguard closely. His bed hair and sleepy expression made him look even more attractive than usual. He let his foot slide up Jungkook's calf, not able to control himself.
"Yah." Jungkook glanced at him with a raised eyebrow. "What do you think you are you doing right now?" Taehyung lifted his spoon to his mouth, acting innocent. "I am eating my cereals. Why? What is it?"
Mr. Kim entered the kitchen, causing Taehyung to pull his foot away- hitting his knee against the table in the process. Jungkook grinned and stiffled a laugh. "I'm going to the city hall now. At least pretend that you're happy for me if I win, okay?" Mr. Kim said to his son.
Taehyung looked up, rubbing his knee with one hand. "Of course, dad. I'll be thrilled and dance around the house." Mr. Kim sighed and looked at Jungkook. "Do me a favor and don't leave my son's side today. Who knows what the outcome will do to my family."
Jungkook looked up at him, some milk was in the corner of his mouth, making him look like a baby. "Yes, sir." "Good. See you guys later," Mr. Kim said before leaving the room.
"There is something on your face." Taehyung stood up and leaned down to Jungkook. "Let me get that for you," he murmured before licking the milk off his bodyguard's lips.
Jungkook seemed to be taken aback, but he smiled, leaning back to lock his eyes with Taehyung's. "You are trying to seduce me a lot these days, huh?"
Taehyung shrugged and straightened up. "At least one of us, right? I am getting the idea that you are not that interested in me or my affection though," Taehyung mumbled, acting offended. He grabbed his empty bowl and walked up to the sink.
Jungkook stepped behind him- unnecessary close, wrapping his arms around Taehyung's waist. Then he placed a kiss behind his left ear and breathed, "You have no fucking idea."
Taehyung felt goosebumps spreading over his body because of Jungkook's warm breath on his skin. He leaned against his bodyguard's chest with a shiver, closing his eyes. That felt nice. Very nice.
"I am just scared to lose my job. Scared to leave you. Otherwise-" Jungkook trailed off, one of his hand sliding under Taehyung's shirt. "Otherwise what?"
Jungkook placed another kiss on Taehyung's sensitive skin before nibbling at his lobe, causing him to moan. "Otherwise I wouldn't let you out off my arms anymore. I would kiss you everywhere. In front of everyone, not giving a shit about anything."
Taehyung chuckled, happy that Jungkook wanted this as much as he did. "Wow, that was fucking cheesy," he replied, turning around in his arms. "Well- it is the truth, pretty," Jungkook whispered against his lips before kissing them softly, pulling Taehyung closer.
Taehyung wrapped his arms around his neck, deepening the kiss- blood roaring through his veins. "I like it when you call me that." "Pretty," Jungkook breathed against his mouth. "Mhh." Taehyung captured his mouth, pressing into him. "I forgot my ke- what are you doing?!?"
"Dad-" "You are fired, Jungkook!" No. Mr. Kim was boiling with rage, veins popping on his neck. "I can't believe it! I thought that you are one of the best bodyguards! What are you doing with my son?!"
Taehyung approached his father, his gut felt hollow inside. "Dad, listen. It's my fault. I kissed him and I was the one who seduced him-" Mr. Kim silenced his son with a sudden slap across his face. He had never raised his hand against him before. "I am not talking to you!"
Jungkook stepped in between them, shielding Taehyung with his body. "Don't hit him!" he hissed through gritted teeth. "I am his bodyguard and if you touch him again, I will do everything to protect him! Everything!" "Shut up! He is /my/ son!"
"I don't give a shit! Besides- Taehyung did nothing wrong. /I/ broke the rule. Be mad at me!" Mr. Kim groaned, his face red with fury. "Stop taking each other's blame. You are making me very mad right now! Taehyung! I warned you, didn't I? You told me there's nothing going on!"
"It just happened," Taehyung mumbled and tugged at the hem of Jungkook's shirt, feeling awful. He was still hidden behind his bodyguard. Mr. Kim sighed. "You know what? Whatever. I don't even want to hear your excuses. You are fired. You can leave right now- for all I care."
No. Taehyung felt like crying. He stepped next to Jungkook, fighting with his tears. "Dad, he is one of the best. You know that. You saw him in action. I feel safe around him. Don't fire him, please. I will keep my dista-"
"No! It's too late." Mr. Kim turned his eyes on Jungkook. "You are fired. I am disappointed in you. Leave my house until tomorrow. I need to go now. I am already late," he muttered before turning around to walk out of the kitchen.
Taehyung felt like someone had knocked the air out of his lungs. He crouched down, hiding his face in his hands. "I am so sorry. It is all my fault. I wasn't careful-"
"Stop it." Jungkook crouched down in front of him. He placed a hand on Taehyung's head, patting it lightly. "I wanted it, too. It's not your fault- It's okay. Don't be upset."
"It is fucking /not/ okay," Taehyung murmured into his hands, feeling tears stinging his eyes. He didn't want to cry. Jungkook brushed his fingers through Taehyung's hair, probably trying to calm him. "We can't change it now. I shouldn't have fa-"
"Don't say it." Taehyung pulled his hands away, glaring at Jungkook. "You shouldn't have what, huh? Shouldn't have kissed me? I regret nothing! I- I like you," he mumbled, not able to hold back the tears anymore.
Jungkook leaned in and placed a kiss on Taehyung's forehead, wiping his cheek with his thumb. "Don't cry. Please. And don't like me."
"Why? Why, huh? My father can fire you, but he can't make me stop liking you." He stood up. "But it seems that I am the only one who is sad because of all this mess." Taehyung felt horrible, irritated and vulnerable. He had never felt like that before because of another person.
Jungkook stood up as well and reached out, cupping his face before Taehyung had the chance to turn away. "Why are you making it so hard for me? It was way easier when you hated me to the core." "Maybe I should hate you again," Taehyung said with a pout.
"Maybe you should. It would be smarter." Jungkook cursed and dipped his head, kissing Taehyung's pout away. "I like you, too, you stupid fool." Jungkook kissed him again, letting his lips linger for several seconds. "You have no idea what you are doing to me, pretty."
Taehyung rested his forehead against Jungkook's. "I am sorry that you will lose your job because of me." "Bullshit." Jungkook shook his head. "Don't be. I don't care about that anyway. I can get a job again very soon. My reputation is very good and my dad is my boss."
"Right, you are-" "I am just scared." Jungkook paused and sighed, caressing Taehyung's cheek with a fond look. "I am so scared to leave you on your own. I don't trust anyone else to protect you. I- I need to make sure that you are doing fine. Not knowing will kill me."
"I can protect myself," Taehyung replied with a pout while staring at his bodyguard's face- scared that he will see it for the last time today. "You are so fucking cute." Jungkook chuckled with a sad smile. "And no, no you can't protect yourself."
"I can-" The door opened, causing Jungkook to pull away from him. Mr. Kim entered the kitchen again, his expression still angry. "I thought you were already late." "Jungkook, come to my office. Now," Taehyung's father said, ignoring his son's remark.
Taehyung grabbed Jungkook's hand, scared to let him go. He needed him. He couldn't remember how life was before him. "It's okay. I will be right back," Jungkook murmured and leaned in to peck Taehyung's forehead, ignoring Mr. Kim's glare on them.
Taehyung sighed after they had left the kitchen. He didn't know what to do. The situation was horrible. He didn't care about his own safety. He was scared to lose the one who had been around him 24/7. He had gotten used to Jungkook. Taehyung ruffled his hair out of frustration
Taehyung sat on the sofa, rubbing his eyes. His father wouldn't hurt Jungkook, would he? No. Taehyung shook his head. His bodyguard had protected him very well.
A long moment later, Jungkook entered the room and closed the door behind himself. He sat next to Taehyung, taking his hand in his. Jungkook seemed calm- too calm for Taehyung's liking.
"Your dad is furious. He already called my company. I have to leave today. Looks like he can't stand too see me around you anymore. He already gave me a notice." Taehyung hated his father right now. His chin started wobbling, but he tried hard to keep the tears from falling.
"I don't want you to leave." Jungkook squeezed Taehyung's hand and sighed but kept silent. "W-what will you do next?" "I need to talk to my dad. Maybe he has another job for me. Then I will know where I will have to go for the next months or years. Years?
Taehyung didn't like that at all. It hurt his heart. "What do you mean? Could your dad send you to another city far away?" "It depends. If there is no job nearby, then yes, probably," Jungkook replied in a sad voice.
"I don't want you to go. I will miss you," Taehyung whispered and looked at his bodyguard with tears in his eyes. Jungkook sighed and raised Taehyung's hand to his lips, kissing it softly. It felt like a goodbye kiss.
"I don't want to leave. But I have to. There is no other way. We can't change it." Jungkook let go of Taehyung's hand and got up with a sigh. "We should end this- the sooner the better."
Taehyung got up as well, feeling like someone kicked him in the guts. "Wait. What do you mean by that?" Jungkook frowned, facing Taehyung with his back. "We aren't dating or something like that- so whatever this is, let's end it."
Seriously? "What? What are you talking about? This has nothing to do with da-" Jungkook turned around, but didn't look at him. "It is over, Taehyung. This /thing/ between us- There is no future, so let's end it before the feelings are too deep." Something was weird.
"What did my dad said to you? Are you sure those aren't his words?" Jungkook scoffed and glanced at him. Something flickered in his eyes. "I am just realistic." "Realistic. Are you serious? Fuck you! Is it that easy for you? Or are you lying? Did he threaten you?"
"It is the reasonable thing to do," Jungkook replied, his face showing no emotion. "And those are /my/ words." "Liar." Taehyung glared at him. "You told me that you like me just half an hour ago. And now you are- you know what? Just go. Just go fuck yourself,"
"Tae-" "Shut up." Taehyung turned around and ran out of the room. Tears were streaming down his face as he ran into the garden. He started to cry so hard- sobs were racking his body. But suddenly Taehyung heard a click behind himself. A click of a gun.
"Be quiet or I will shoot you right here."
✭・.・✫ Taehyung was in the back of a van, his hands tied together with a cord- a duct tape was around his mouth. Opposite him was a man who was wearing a mask, cursing nonstop.
How could these criminals kidnap him in broad daylight without anyone seeing them? Taehyung was in a state of emotional vulnerability. He was fucking scared, but at the same time, sad and angry because of Jungkook. But the tears had ebbed by now.
"We'll take a picture for your father now. We want him to withdraw as a candidate before the winner of the election will be known. If he listens to us, you'll be free and don't have to worry about your safety."
Taehyung ignored him and tried to look outside, but the windows were darkened, so he couldn't see where they were. His wrists were hurting. The criminal had tied his hands too tight. The cord would leave marks on his skin for sure.
"Are you ready for the photo? Please, smile," the thug said humorless, holding a phone in front of his face. "Fuck you." Taehyung closed his eyes as the flash went off.
"Well, I think you look better in real life, but that picture will probably be enough for your father. I'll be right back," the man muttered before getting outside.
Taehyung had seen at least two thugs when they had pushed him into the van. He sighed and looked around. There seemed nothing in there to free himself with.
Taehyung was kept hostage. He should yell and attract attention, trying to get help. But today was just the worst day to get kidnapped. Taehyung was feeling down and heartbroken. He didn't even care that he was a hostage right now.
Minutes had passed and Taehyung wondered why the criminal wasn't back by now. Should he try to escape after all? Was it dumb to stay motionless and not try anything to get out? Taehyung stood up and turned around, trying to move the handle of the sliding door.
It was locked. Of course. What was he expecting? Taehyung was about to look for something to cut the cord with when he heard sudden noises outside the van. He leaned his ear against the door, trying to listen what was going on.
Someone was screaming and suddenly a shot was fired outside the van. Taehyung flinched, stepping away. Then it was suddenly quiet. Too quiet. Taehyung waited and waited, but he could not hear anything else.
Were the thugs fighting with each other? Taehyung sat back on the seat. Tears filled his eyes again and a lump filled his throat. Would they shoot him? Would his father withdraw his candidacy for him? Or would he go all the way and risk his son's life by calling the cops?
Taehyung was tired. He had never asked to be the son of a politician and now he was not only deeply hurt because of Jungkook, but his life was in danger as well. He hated his miserable existence.
"Taehyung! Tae? Are you in there?" There was a bang at the door of the van, startling him. No way. Jungkook? Taehyung would recognize his voice everywhere. "Taehyung?"
"Mhh mhhh." Taehyung cursed inwardly. He couldn't speak with the tape covering his mouth. He stood up, bumping his leg against the door of the van to give Jungkook a sign that he was trapped inside.
"Let me find the key for the van. I will be right with you." Jungkook's voice sounded hectic and worried. "Don't be scared. I will get you out of there. I promise."
I believe you. How did Jungkook even find him? Taehyung couldn't believe that he was there. Despite everything that had happened before, he just wanted to hug Jungkook. He wanted to feel safe again- even if it would be their last moment together.
The van beeped two times and the door opened a second later, startling Taehyung. He blinked his eyes several times before fixing them on Jungkook. I love you. Tears were spilling down Taehyung's cheeks at the sight of those big doe eyes looking at him with worry.
"Hey, hey- I am here. You are safe now. Don't cry," Jungkook mumbled and reached out his hand towards him. "Let me get this for you." He pulled the tape off with one quick motion. It hurt but Taehyung didn't care. He started sobbing uncontrollably.
"Fuck- Are you alright? Did they hurt you? Come here." Jungkook grabbed Taehyung's arm, helping him to climb out of the van. He stared at him intently, his expression concerned. "Are you hurt somewhere? Please, don't cry. Talk to me."
Taehyung glimpsed at the thug on the ground, bleeding from his forehead. Then he turned his eyes at Jungkook. Only now did he spotted a bad bruise on his cheekbone. Taehyung frowned, trying to cup Jungkook's face, but his hands were still tied.
"My hands-" "Wait. I have a knife. Let me cut that cord off," Jungkook mumbled and pulled his knife out of his pocket. He seemed to be shaken as well. "Are you okay? Please. I know that you are mad at me, but tell me that they didn't hurt-"
Taehyung collapsed into Jungkook's arms after his hands were untied. He started to cry shamelessly, the adrenaline leaving his body in a rush. "Baby." Jungkook hugged him back tight- causing him to feel safe and warm. For a moment, he forgot everything that had happened today.
"Please, tell me that you are okay," Jungkook mumbled, placing a kiss on Taehyung's neck. "I- fuck, I was so fucking worried about you. I almost died- like seriously."
The kiss triggered something in Taehyung. He pulled away, glaring at Jungkook. "Don't do this! You- you pushed me away, so- don't show me any affection just because of what happened. Don't give me hope," Taehyung managed to get out between sobs. "You are making things worse."
"Tae-" "You can't kiss me and look at me with those soft eyes of yours. It makes me want to keep you. But you are leaving me. And it hurts. So, please- don't." Taehyung started to pull away, but Jungkok grabbed his arm, pulling him back against his chest. "Tae-"
"Please, let me go. It hurts to be close to you." Taehyung took a shaky breath, averting his eyes. "Thank you for saving me- regardless how you managed to do that- but you can let go of me now. I am fine. You should just leave."
Jungkook didn't leave. "You are not fine," he mumbled and cupped Taehyung's chin, forcing him to look him in the eyes. Jungkook wiped the tears off his cheeks. "You stupid, stupid fool."
"Why are you insulting me-" "I love you so fucking much." Jungkook leaned in. "When I saw those assholes taking you away, I felt like I was dying inside. I was worried as hell. I love you. Do you hear me? I love you, you stupid, pretty, irresistible fool!" What?
Taehyung's feelings were all over the place. He didn't understand what was going on. "But- but what are you saying? You- you told me that we should end this before-" "I lied. I am a fucking idiot. You were right. Your father forced me to say this. He wanted me to-"
Taehyung covered Jungkook's mouth with his hand to stop him from babbling. He only now realized what Jungkook had said to him. "Wait- you, you love me?"
Jungkook nodded before pushing Taehyung's hand away. "I love you. I told you that I wouldn't let you out of my arms anymore if that was possible. I am sorry for realizing it too late. I am sorry that you needed to be kidnapped for me to-"
"Just shut up," Taehyung mumbled before closing the distance, placing a quick but firm kiss on Jungkook's lips. "I hate you for messing with my heart." Taehyung kissed him again, feeling Jungkook's arms around his body seconds later- warmth radiating from him.
"I am so fucking in love with you, too. I can't even stay angry at you." "Lucky me." "Lucky you." With a groan, Jungkook pressed Taehyung even closer into him, capturing his mouth in a fierce kiss.
"I am so sorry, baby. I regretted listening to your father the moment you ran out of the room," Jungkook whispered against Taehyung's lips. "But are you okay? Did they hurt you? Let me take a look at you."
"I am fine. They didn't touch me." Taehyung leaned away, gently brushing his fingers over the bruise on Jungkook's jaw. "Are /you/ okay, though? How did you even find me?"
"Remember your security cameras? I headed into the office to see where you ran off to. I was late, so I could only catch a glimpse of how they pushed you inside the van. I memorized the number plate and then I rushed outside. The rest is history."
"Did you ran all the way here?" Taehyung asked, looking around. He had no idea where they were. There was a lake closeby. Jungkook smiled with a shake of his head. "No. I took the car and I was lucky that those assholes weren't driving too fast."
"Thabk God." Taehyung sighed and ran a hand through his hair. Jungkook froze and grabbed his arm. "Your wrist." "Huh? Ah- it's fine. They tied my hands too tightly." "It's not fine," Jungkook whispered and lowered his head, peppering kisses across Taehyung's wrist.
"Do you really love me?" "Yes. Yes, I do," Jungkook replied before chuckling. He looked at Taehyung. "Why are you asking again? Don't you believe me?"
"Just making sure. And I like hearing it." "I love you," Jungkook breathed before capturing Taehyung's lips again. He kissed him with an intensity that made Taehyung lightheaded. He melted against Jungkook's body.
The sound of approaching sirens caused them to pull apart. Jungkook pecked Taehyung's lips one last time before stepping away. "I need to talk to the cops and I want you to get yourself checked. Let them take a look at your wrists."
Taehyung grabbed Jungkook's arm before he could pull away. "Just, just stay close, please." "I won't leave you, baby. Don't worry. My eyes are always on you."
✭・.・✫ Mr. Kim arrived at the scene half an hour later. Taehyung had already talked to the police. He was tired. He felt like going straight back to bed.
"Are you okay?" Taehyung's father asked with worry in his voice, reaching for his arms. "Yeah, I'm fine, dad. Nothing bad happened to me. Jungkook was in time. He saved me." Mr. Kim sighed. "Thank God. I heard what happened. Jungkook took both men down, huh?" "He did."
"That's good." "He did it though you fired him. He is the best." Mr. Kim sighed, rubbing his forehead. "I never questioned his abilities as a bodyguard. I know he is the best. That's not the point and you know it." "Dad, he-"
"Mr. Kim, can I talk to you for a minute?" A policeman came up to them, interrupting their conversation. "Yes, of course," Taehyung's father replied and followed him to the car.
Taehyung looked after him and sighed. Would his father change his mind about Jungkook? Would he keep him as a bodyguard? "Hey, are you okay?" Jungkook came up to Taehyung, his eyes still looking worried.
Taehyung's heart melted as he looked at him. His feelings for Jungkook had tripled by now. Taehyung grabbed the hem of his shirt, pulling Jungkook closer, not able to hold back. "I am good. Don't worry," he whispered before placing a kiss on his cheek.
Jungkook's ears flushed as he leaned away. "Hey, what are you doing? Your father's here." Taehyung shrugged and pressed a kiss on his lips. "I don't give a shit about that. I'm not letting you go anymore. Even if you move out of our house- I will just move in with you."
It was a joke and Jungkook chuckled. He wrapped his arms around Taehyung's waist, bringing him closer. "Don't you think that would be a little bit too fast?" Taehyung smiled at him. "You like the idea though, don't you?"
"You have no idea." Jungkook dipped his head and placed a lingering kiss on Taehyung's forehead. "I love the idea. And I love yo-" "Jungkook! Come over here," Mr. Kim called him all of a sudden. "I will be right back, baby." "Promise." "I promise."
Jungkook walked away and Taehyung sighed. He didn't care what his father would tell him. He would move out and follow Jungkook everywhere. That was for sure. And Taehyung didn't care if his father would win the election or not.
Jungkook came back a few minutes later. He reached for Taehyung's hand, his expression was unreadable. "Let's talk somewhere in private."
"What did my father say?" Taehyung asked as they turned into an alley, which was sheltered by a hedge. "Jungkook? Tell me!" he demanded as the other kept silent. That wasn't a good sign. "Hey, listen- No matter what my father said, I don't care and we will find a way to-"
Jungkook pushed him against the hedge, pressing his lips on Taehyung's in a fierce kiss. What the- Taehyung moaned into his mouth. He would never get used to Jungkook's lips. But he still pulled away. He needed to know. "Yah, are you trying to distract me? What did he say?"
Jungkook pecked his lips. "He thanked me for saving you today." He kissed Taehyung's cheek. "Thanked me for doing it so promptly. Now he can focus on his big day." Taehyung scoffed. "Yeah. I guess winning the election is far more important than his son's well-being."
Jungkook kissed his nose with a smile. "Then he said that normally, he would never go back on his word, but since I proved to be one of the best bodyguards once again-"
Taehyung kissed him. He knew what Jungkook was going to say and he couldn't wait to hear it. But he also couldn't wait to kiss him senseless. It was a dilema. "I can stay, baby. I can stay and take care of you. And even if he won't win, he still wants me to stay for a while."
Taehyung hugged Jungkook, pressing his lips against his neck. That were the best news in a long time. "I am so fucking happy." "Me too." Jungkook rubbed his back gently. "But your dad also told me that if I won't focus, he would overthink his decision."
"You are always focussed, right? Mingyu chuckled. "Yeah- on you. On your pretty face. On your curves. On your sexy ass-" "Stop." Taehyung pulled away and smacked Jungkook's chest before placing a kiss on his chin. "I love you."
"You do?" "Yeah." Jungkook kissed him. "Good. Because I love you, too." Taehyung hugged him again, finally relaxing after the past hours of shock and terror. ✭・.・✫ Mr. Kim didn't win the election. But Jungkook stayed.
