[ Soulmate AU ]
Taehyung is sure he has a chronic illness. As soon as he had turned 18, he started to deal with unbearable headaches- relieved by strong medications only. The pain's never fully gone though.
He meets Jungkook and feels pain-free for the first time in years.
Taehyung is running late for his appointment. Again. He has promised Jimin to be on time.
Taehyung has just made a quick stop at the mall and is already ten minutes late. He sighs as he waits for the elevator to arrive.
Taehyung taps his feet impatiently, thinking about an excuse to tell his friend later. His headache starts to get worse again. It's time for another pill, but he left the package in the car.
Finally, the elevator door opens with a ding.
Taehyung gets inside the empty elevator and presses the button for the underground parking lot. He leans against the wall and sighs.
The door starts closing, but someone stops it with his foot.
Taehyung resists the urge to curse. He is late and he has a bad headache.
Why couldn't that person just wait for the other elevator?
Taehyung forgets everything when his eyes turn on the stranger in front of him.
The guy is probably his age. He's fucking handome. He has a model face and thick black hair. His rolled up sleeves reveal some tattoos Taehyung can't help but stare at.
"Hey, sorry for making you wait lon-"
The hot stranger trails off and stares at him with doe-like eyes. Taehyung feels like the guy is checking him out- as if he's a piece of art.
"Fuck, you are so pretty."
Taehyung's breath hitches in his throat. He hides a smile and averts his eyes, feeling a blush creep into his cheeks. This guy is hot. Hot and straightforward.
"Thank you, I guess."
The elevator closes again and Taehyung dares to glance at the stranger who is still staring at him shamelessly- making him feel flustered.
Taehyung bites his lower lip. It is a habit when he gets nervous.
"Seriously- how can a person look so fucking fine with blue hair?"
Taehyung holds on to the railing when the elevator starts moving. He lowers his eyes. He can't believe that this hot stranger is flirting with him. He makes him speechless.
"Ah, shit- sorry. I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable. It's just- sometimes I don't have a filter for my mouth. But you are very gorgeous. That's it. I will be quiet now."
Taehyung looks at him and smiles. The hot stranger is also very cute.
"Are you always this straightforward?"
"No. Only when I see someone as beauti-"
The lights suddenly disappear and the elevator stops sharply. Taehyung shrieks startled and tightens his grip on the rail.
Taehyung isn't claustrophobic, but he is scared of the dark. He holds his breath and feels panic rise in his chest.
"Shit, shit, shit-"
"Hey, are you alright? Are you hurt?"
Taehyung is not alright. He feels dizzy. "I am okay, I- I am just scared of the dark," he whines, not even trying to sound calm.
"Sorry, my phone died a few minutes ago. I can't turn on the flashlight."
Taehyung closes his eyes and whimpers.
"And I left my phone in the car. Fuck. I- I am really scared right now," he whispers, feeling his heart race. He had developed the fear of darkness as a child and it never left him.
"Shit, okay- stay where you are. I am coming to you, okay?"
As soon as he is within reach, Taehyung could feel the guy's body heat. His fingers find Taehyung's arm in the dark and grip his arm gently. The simple touch sends sparks straight to his core.
"Just try to breath slowly, okay? Everything will be fine."
Taehyung nods though the stranger can't see it in the dark. He reaches out and places his hand on his. For whatever reason his closeness immediately calms Taehyung down.
"I am Jungkook, by the way. Who are you?"
Taehyung feels his warm breath on his cheek. The hot stranger seems to stand very close in front of him. The scent of his cologne makes Taehyung feel light-headed.
Taehyung tenses. Something is different. Something has changed.
His headache. It's gone. Actually, it seems to be gone for the past few seconds already.
What is happening here? Is his fear of the dark distracting him so much or-
"Hey, are you still with me?"
"That's good. What's your name?"
"I am Taehyung."
Jungkook squeezes his arm gently.
"Taehyung? Nice. It suits you. A pretty face with a pretty name."
Taehyung scoffs playfully and pulls his hand off Jungkook's.
"We are stuck in an elevator. How can you still fli-"
The lights turn on again and Taehyung blinks to adjust his eyes.
Taehyung gapes at him. Jungkook is close and he is seriously so fucking handsome. And he is staring right into his soul.
Taehyung's heart skips a beat and he feels butterflies in his tummy.
[ I need to
[ Should I continue with this AU? ]
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
Taehyung is sitting on the floor, head leaning against the elevator wall.
The lights are back on, but the elevator is still not moving. A male voice over the intercom has told them not to panic and promised that help is on the way.
"I am just thinking. Something is weird. I am actually dealing with lung problems for years. I have an inhalor which is very helpful, but I always feel an annoying pressure on my chest. The moment I entered the elevator though- it's gone. It must be your beauty."
Taehyung chuckles shyly. He plucks at a loose thread on his pants. Jungkook is such a flirt. But he likes it.
"Is this a new pick-up line? It's pretty dramatic- don't you think?"
Jungkook smiles, but then narrows his eyes.
"No, I am serious. It's confusing because I feel very good right now, healthy, pain-free. I feel like running a marathon. Weird."
Taehyung scratches his head and then he freezes.
His headache. It's still gone.
Taehyung doesn't remember the last time he has been pain free. It's somehow scary, but also very nice. And the headache has stopped with Jungkook's appearance.
Could it be that- no.
"What are you thinking so hard about?"
Taehyung looks up and stares at Jungkook. He is still standing, leaning against the elevator wall- hands shoved into his pants pockets.
He looks effortlessly sexy and this fact bothers Taehyung.
"Do you believe in soulmates?"
Jungkook's eyes widens for a second and he clenches his jaw.
"No. I mean- I know that soulmates or something like that exist, but I don't believe in the meaning of it, you know?"
Taehyung hums and keeps plucking at the thread.
"Why?" Jungkook asks, his voice sounds amused. "Are you implying that you are my soulmate?"
Taehyung snaps his head up and looks at Jungkook, feeling flustered once again.
"What? No! I didn't say that."
"But you are thinking it because I am here with you and my pain is suddenly gone, right?" Jungkook asks before a mischievous grin appears on his face.
"No. I- I am just making conversation."
Jungkook is silent for a moment. Then he sighs.
"My parents are soulmates."
"How do they know it?"
"They have the same birthmark," Jungkook says and reaches out, touching his elbow. "Right here."
"A lot of people have birthmarks on their-"
"It's big and looks like a clown doing a handstand."
Taehyung starts laughing and shakes his head.
"Don't mess with me."
"I swear it's true. Have you ever seen a birthmark looling like that? I haven't. You've got a very pretty laugh, by the way."
Taehyung averts his eyes and rubs his neck, feeling a blush creeping up slowly. Jungkook is good at this.
"Anyway, my parents got a divorce when I was nine. They were fighting 24/7, my father cheated and my mother hated- still hates him to the core. So- soulmates exist, yes, but I don't believe that they love each other all the time no matter what. It's bullshit. It's not for me."
Taehyung sighs. He has never thought about the possibility of having a soulmate. But he is a romantic. The idea of having someone who is going to be with him for the rest of his life, being crazy about him, feels really good.
"Tell me, Taehyung- do you have someone in your life?"
"Are you seeing someone?"
Taehyung shakes his head slowly, just barely.
Jungkook widens his eyes. He looks taken aback.
"Wait, seriously? You are so- why? How could that even be? Don't tell me you are waiting for your soulmate?"
Taehyung shakes his head. Jungkook is a stranger. Why are they even talking about something like this?
"I am not in the mood to date right now. All guys are the same. They just want to get laid- that's it."
Jungkook nods and runs a hand through his hair. His jaw stiffens as he suppresses a yawn.
"We live in a throw-away society, Taehyung. People see something they like, they want it and after they get it- they get bored. And then they see someone more attractive and it starts-"
"Are you talking about yourself?"
Jungkook smirks and tilts his head in a flirtatious way.
"Why? Are you interested in me, Taehyung? I am sorry- but I don't do relationships."
"Yah, I- you are-"
The intercom buzzes, saving Taehyung from an awkward moment.
"The elevator is working again. It will start moving in a second. Don't get startled."
Taehyung gets up and pats his butt. The floor is dusty. He looks at Jungkook who is still staring at him with intensity.
"Thank you," Taehyung mumbles and steps closer. He smiles at him.
The elevator starts moving with a little jolt.
"Thank you for comforting me after the lights got out."
Jungkook studies Taehyung's face for a long moment, brown eyes revealing nothing of his thoughts. He opens his mouth, but the elevator door opens with a ding.
"Take care of yourself, Taehyung. I couldn't think of a better person to be stuck in an elevator with."
Taehyung bites his lip and smiles shyly. He doesn't say it back, but he feels the same. Jungkook is different- he is remarkable.
"After you," Jungkook says with a smirk and motions him to exit.
Taehyung has a feeling that Jungkook just wants to check out his butt. But he is okay with that. He has a nice butt. He is proud of it.
"Bye, Jungkook," Taehyung says and turns his head to look at him for the last time. He doesn't want to go.
"Bye, Taehyung. Don't waste your time waiting for a soulmate who doesn't deserve you. You are too precious for that," Jungkook says and walks in the other direction.
Taehyung rushes towards his car. He feels weird. It feels like something
is missing. Something achingly big.
Taehyung gets inside the car and pulls out his phone.
Five missed calls from Jimin.
Taehyung doesn't care. He can't stop thinking about Jungkook.
"What was that?"
Taehyung can't believe he has met the most gorgeous guy in an elevator and that he has flirted with him. No one could ruin the rest of his day anymore.
Taehyung doesn't notice the pain of his throbbing head coming back full force. Stronger than before.
Jungkook feels like shit. The pressure on his chest feels stronger than ever these days- his lungs are burning.
What the fuck is going on?
Jungkook takes his inhaler from his pocket- sucking in the medicine. He hates it.
"Hey, bro- are you alright?"
Jungkook nods and closes his eyes for a second, waiting for the pain in his chest to ebb away.
Hobi tilts his head. He looks worried.
"You don't look fine, Kook. You seem in pain. You shouldn't work today-"
"I am always in pain, Hobi. Let's just start."
"We can't. The new make up artist isn't here yet."
Jungkook groans. He works as a photographer for a famous magazine. The former make up artist has gotten pregnant and left the company two weeks ago.
Jungkook knows nothing about her replacement. But he hates unpunctuality.
"And where is the model?"
Hobi points to his left. A blonde woman is sitting on a chair, flipping through a magazine. She seems bored.
Jungkook has never worked with her before, but he has seen her in some ads. She is known to be difficult, a diva.
The door to the room opens with a soft squeak.
"I am so, so sorry for being late. I have the worst migraine ever and wanted to call in sick, but since it's my first-"
Taehyung trails off when their eyes meet. His blue hair is tousled and wild, cheeks flushed from rushing about to be on time. His eyes are puffy- as if he hasn't slept for days. But he is still the most gorgeous person Jungkook has ever seen. And he has seen a lot of celebrities.
"What are you doing here?" Jungkook asks in bewilderment and approaches Taehyung.
"Jungkook, what are you saying? Don't be impolite. He is our new make-up artist," Hobi says behind him.
Jungkook ignores him and stops right in front of Taehyung. He seems also shocked to see him. His eyes are widened, mouth parted slightly.
Jungkook is mesmerised by Taehyung's beauty once again. He wants to tell that blonde model to fuck off because he has found a better one.
"I-I have a, a terrible headache," Taehyung stutters, not taking his eyes off Jungkook. "But, now it's just- gone," he adds slowly and curls his lips, looking surprised himself for a moment.
"/You/ are the new make-up artist?"
"Yes." Taehyung nods, still looking startled- but he smiles shyly. "And you are the- model?"
Jungkook chuckles and thinks it's a joke, but Taehyung seems serious.
"No. I am the photographer."
"What a waste."
"What?" Jungkook asks with a raised eyebrow.
"Guys, if you are done eye fūcking each other- can we finally start as long as our model is still here? You are not getting paid for /this/. Whatever this is," Hobi mutters and grabs Jungkook's arm, pulling him away from Taehyung.
Jungkook can't believe that Taehyung is here.
What a coincidence. What a /beautiful/ coincidence.
One week ago they have been stuck in an elevator together and Jungkook has been thinking a lot about him these days. His face, his curves. He is fucking unreal, breathtaking-
Jungkook takes two deep breaths. The pressure on his chest is gone. He is pain-free all of a sudden.
What the fuck?!
Jungkook snaps his eyes in Taehyung's direction. The latter is already starting with the make-up, happily chatting with the model.
Jungkook shakes his head.
No. It's just a coincidence. There is no connection between Taehyung and his lung problems. Taehyung is not his soul-
"Kook, what's wrong with you? Stop staring at our make-up artist. You will scare him away on his first day-"
"I know him."
"Please, don't tell me you two have fu-"
"Remember I told you about that guy from the elevator?"
"No way! That's him?"
"Yes. That's the beautiful blue haired boy I thought I would never see again."
Hobi pats Jungkook's shoulder. He chuckles in amusement.
"You know the rules. Never fūck the company."
Jungkook scoffs and averts his eyes from Taehyung to look at his friend and colleague.
"Same goes for you. I will keep my eyes on you, dude."
Hobi laughs and tilts his head in confusion.
"What are you talking about? I am into girls."
"Yeah, you are. But that guy over there is different-" Jungkook turns his eyes back on Taehyung who is sticking his tongue out in concentration. "Everyone would want him."
"Whatever. Just focus on your job. You look better, by the way. Is the pain gone?"
"Yes," Jungkook says with his eyes still fixed on Taehyung.
"That's good. The new inhaler must be better then."
"Sure. It must be the new inhaler."
[ I am not very familiar with soulmate AUs, so this will be just me, improvising ]
"Wait, my face is sweating. I need some powder."
Jungkook lowers the camera and forces himself not to snap at the model. They have started shooting one hour ago and she doesn't like any of the pictures.
It's frustrating. And annoying.
Jungkook wants to tell the blonde girl that this is her face and she just has to deal with it. But he obviously can't do that. He can't risk the reputation of the magazine.
Taehyung hurries towards the model and starts powdering her face.
Jungkook watches him- notices his long, delicate fingers. Pretty.
Is there even something not pretty about him?
Jungkook sighs. He resists the urge to snap some pictures of Taehyung right now.
"How do I look? Am I beautiful?" the girl asks Taehyung after he has lowered his brush, examining her face.
"You are good to go," Taehyung says in a professional tone and turns around, walking to the back.
"Okay. We don't have a lot of time left. Let's finish this up. Two, three more shots," Jungkook says. Actually, they do have more time, but his patience runs low. He wants her gone.
"I will be right back," Taehyung mumbles and leaves the room.
Jungkook takes another picture before lowering his camera with a hiss as his lungs start burning again.
Fuck. It hurts.
"Hey, are you okay?" the girl asks as Jungkook places a hand over his heart with a grimace.
"I am fine. We are done for today."
Jungkook is not fine. Not at all. This not a coincidence anymore.
Hobi walks to the girl and Jungkook rushes out of the room. The pressure on his chest is almost unbearable. He needs fresh air.
Jungkook rushes into the hallway and almost bumps into Taehyung. He stops in his tracks and stares at him.
Jungkook takes a long deep breath. He is fine. He feels pain-free once again.
Taehyung looks at him with big, curious eyes.
"What's wrong? Did something happen? Are you alri-"
"You are my fucking soulmate."
Taehyung widens his eyes for a second, but then he sighs- his shoulders slumping.
"You know. You- what?"
"You told me about your lungs. I am dealing with the same issue- only with headaches. After we have separated in the parking garage that day- my head almost exploded. I hadn't felt any pain in the elevator. And today- as soon as I entered the room, I was pain-free again."
Jungkook runs a hand through his hair and curses.
"I can't- fuck, I can't believe this! Why must this be happening to me?! I don't want to deal with this bullshit."
Taehyung bites his lower lip and averts his eyes. He looks hurt.
"Hey, don't, don't get me wrong. This is not about you! You are- I have never seen someone as beautiful as you, okay? I mean it. But I despise this whole soulmate thing! I told you in the elevator-"
"No, seriously. I have a trauma because of what happened with my parents. I- I don't, I can't. I am very sorry that I am your soulmate. Everyone else would be fucking happy to get you- but I can't be that guy for you. I am sorry."
Taehyung keeps looking at his shoes and Jungkook feels very bad.
Why is it him? Why can't his soulmate be some old, ugly dude? It would be so much easier to dump him.
But Taehyung- he deserves better. Why him? Jungkook's feels very sorry.
"You don't need to apologize. I don't expect anything from you," Taehyung says and looks up. Something like disappointment flickers over his pretty eyes.
"But- I don't understand why my pain is stronger now. It was more bearable before meeting you."
"My headache worsened, too"
"That sucks. There must be something to-"
"I talked to my aunt two days ago. She knows a lot about soulmates and their bond," Taehyung says and fiddles with his hands. He looks nervous. He is cute.
"Okay. Did she tell you something helpful?"
"We suffer more pain now because we have met and touched each other. It's, it's not good for soulmates to be apart. So, the pain was more bearable back then because we haven't known each other yet."
Jungkook sighs and rubs his forehead. "I should have taken another elevator, huh?" he jokes. He looks at Taehyung's unhappy face and feels bad again.
"Yeah, probably," Taehyung mumbles, but he doesn't really sound like he means it.
"What else did your aunt say? Is there a way to- stop this?"
Taehyung bites his lower lip once again. It is already plump and red, making Jungkook crazy.
"This. The bond. You don't want to live in pain for the rest of your life, right?"
"There is a solution that may work. One of us needs to fall in love with someone else. Not faking it- with real feelings. That could break our- the bond, and the pain should vanish forever."
"Hey, that sounds good, right? Do it. Find someone and lets get this over with."
"What? No!" Taehyung scoffs and purses his lips stubbornly. He still looks cute- even when he is pissed. "Why me? /You/ do it."
"Are you kidding me? I told you that I don't do relationships. I don't fall in love. If I could- I would choose you in a heartbeat. Why should I need someone else? But I am not the type for /this/. And you look like you are very romantic. Just find someone and-"
Taehyung blushes prettily but glares at Jungkook.
"I can't just find someone and fall in love. It's not that easy. And I don't want to. I'm not in the mood."
"You're not in the mood? Do you want us to live in pain?" Jungkook snaps- instantly feeling bad for rising his voice.
Taehyung crosses his arms in front of his chest. He looks hurt and angry.
"Why do I get the feeling you think that all of this is /my/ fault? It is not like I wanted this! I didn't choose to be your soulmate! Don't be angry at me!"
Jungkook takes a deep breath. He studies Taehyung's pretty features.
"You are right. I am sorry. But- we need to do /something/, right? We will see each other at work, so we have a pain-free time slot. And the pain is still bearable, so we just need to find you someone."
"Did your aunt tell you more? Do we need to pay attention to something else?"
Taehyung's face falls. He hesitates.
"Yes. The more physical we get with each other, the more pain we will feel when being apart- so, we shouldn't touch each other anymore."
Jungkook tries hard not to show his disappointment. Taehyung is -alluring. Not touching him at all will be tough.
"Okay. That should be easy, right? Then let's focus on you. Tell me what kind of guys you like and I will help you to find someone-"
"I still think it is pretty unfair that I have to do this."
Taehyung pouts and Jungkook melts. His pouting lips made him want a taste. A taste he will never have.
But Jungkook knows this is the right decision. He will set Taehyung free from himself. He will be happy.
Five days are gone since Taehyung has started working as a make-up artist for a famous magazine. It's fun and he loves his job.
Taehyung also savors the moments where he is pain-free, where his headache isn't killing him for a change.
There's one thing that bothers Taehyung though. Jungkook is very serious in trying to find him a potential partner. He is playing matchmaker for Taehyung and almost every model that enters the studio.
It's annoying as hell.
Taehyung knows that trying to find him a partner won't work anyway. His heart is already attracted to Jungkook. Taehyung would never tell him that, but that's the truth.
Jungkook is his soulmate. They have already formed a bond- even if it's unintentionally.
How can Taehyung fight against it?
Besides that- Jungkook is his type. Taehyung loves his smile. He loves how his muscular arms handle the camera. Taehyung is highly attracted to him.
Their next appointment, a male model, enters the studio.
Taehyung recognizes him. It's Yugyeom. He has seen him on television before.
"Hi, I am Kim Taehyung. Please, sit here. I will get you ready for the-"
"Wow. You- what a sexy make-up artist you are. You should rather be a model. And the blue hair fits you perfectly," Yugyeom says and sits down, ogling Taehyung with lecherous eyes.
Taehyung gives him a small smile. He doesn't feel comfortable- almost like a prey. He prepares the make-up trey, feeling Yugyeom's piercing eyes on him. It annoys him.
"Can I have your number?"
Taehyung wants to scoff. Celebrities suck. They think they can have anyone just because they are famous.
"No, sorry. I am not interested."
Yugyeom grabs Taehyung's arm and looks up at him with a flirtatious smile.
"Why not? Let's have some fun. Don't you like me?"
Taehyung pulls his arm out of Yugyeom's grasp and reaches for the brush.
"I don't know you. Let's just keep this professional."
"Oh, please. You can get to know me very quickly. I can arrange that."
Taehyung ignores that and starts to make Yugyeom up.
The model keeps stil for a few minutes, but then he reaches out a hand, placing it on Taehyung's butt.
Taehyung backs away and bumps against the table behind him- causing a can of hairspray to fall down with a clanking noise.
"What are you doing? Don't touch me!"
"Why? Come on- I am a handsome.model. You must be interested. Don't be shy."
Jungkook, who has been busy preparing the tripod and the camera, turns his head and looks in their direction. "Is everything alright?" he calls over- his eyes fixed on Taehyung.
"Yes, we are almost done."
"What? We are amost done? What a pity," Yugyeom says with a wink.
Taehyung wants to punch him in the face. He grabs for the lipstick and approaches him again, painting the model's lips.
Yugyeom places his hand on Taehyung's hips this time and leans closer.
"Yah, dude! Hands off! Where the fuck are you touching?" Jungkook yells and puts his camera away. He looks mad as he walks towards them.
"What? What's wrong?" Yugyeom asks and looks up at him with an innocent smile.
"I have a problem with you sexually harassing our make-up artist," Jungkook hisses in a low voice, glaring down at him.
"What are you talking about? We are just flirting with each other."
Jungkook locks his jaw so tight that a vein pops out of his neck.
Taehyung steps away and puts the lipstick on the table. He couldn't stop himself from thinking that Jungkook looks very sexy when he's angry.
"Why are you still standing here? Are you a make-up artist now?" Yugyeom asks Jungkook in a bored voice and averts his eyes to look at himself in the mirror.
"I can't stand your arrogant ass. It's not the first time you are harassing an employee."
Yugyeom scoffs and stands up, glaring back at Jungkook.
"Don't get on my nerves, Jeon- or I will leave right now. And you can't afford that, right? You need me. So-"
"I don't need shit. You can go fu-"
"Jungkook!" Hobi rushes towards them and grabs Jungkook's arm while turning his eyes on Yugyeom. "I am so sorry. Excuse him. Our photographer is in a bad mood today. We can start with the shoot in a bit."
Hobi drags Jungkook away and Taehyung turns around to leave the room. He doesn't want to be alone with Yugyeom. He's scary.
Taehyung walks into the restroom. He splashes some water on his face and takes some deep breaths. His lower back hurts from bumping into the table earlier.
The door opens a moment later and Taehyung flinches, fearing that Yugyeom has followed him in here. He turns his head and sighs in relief.
Jungkook looks pissed- but as soon as their eyes meet, his gaze softens. He closes the door behind himself and steps closer.
"Are you okay?"
Taehyung wipes his face with the paper towel and nods.
"I am fine."
"You have- there's something black on your forehead," Jungkook says and reaches out, but Taehyung backs away.
"Don't. We shouldn't touch each other- remember?" Taehyung mumbles and looks in the mirror to wipe the smudge off.
"Right. I forgot." Jungkook scratches his head. "Are you really okay?"
"Yes. Why are you asking me that again?" Taehyung asks and turns his eyes back on him.
Jungkook makes another step towards him, getting closer. So close, Taehyung catches the scent of his cologne.
"I am sorry. I should have warned you of Yugyeom. He is an aşşhole and very touchy. You-"
"It's okay. I could have handled him." Taehyung averts his eyes. Jungkook seems to care about him. It bothers him. "Why did you interfere?"
Jungkook widens his eyes.
"Why did you interfere? You want me to find someone to love, right? What if it's hi-"
"Yah! You will not fall in love with Yugyeom! Are you kidding me?" Jungkook snaps with a pout. He crosses his arms in front of his chest.
Taehyung gets distracted by that movement. Jungkook obviously works out. He looks strong enough to lift him effortlessly.
"Why? You tried to make me fall in love with every person who entered the studio these past days-"
"Yes. But I don't want you to fall in love with a perverted asshole like /him/."
"It's my life though. It's my choice and my heart which is going to decide. Not you," Taehyung says- not mentioning the sad fact that his heart has already chosen Jungkook.
Fate has made them soulmates. It's not his fault.
Taehyung feels heartbroken all of a sudden.
Jungkook is everything he wants. Sexy, handsome, sweet and protective. He is like the hot bad boy who is only good to his loved one. And he is his fucking soulmate. But Taehyung can't have him.
Life sucks big-time.
Something flickers in Jungkook's eyes and he shakes his head like the thought alone bothers him.
"Please, don't tell me you like Yugyeom?"
"No, Jungkook. Of course, I don't. But I don't need a permission from you if I would like him."
"We should go back inside and-" Taehyung hisses in pain when he bumps against the basin.
"What is it? Are you hurt?"
"I am fine," Taehyung murmures and rubs the painful spot on his back with a grimace.
"You don't look fine. What is it?"
Taehyung sighs. Jungkook is handsome, but he can be annoying, too.
"I bumped against the table earlier and hurt my back. It's nothing-"
"Lift your shirt and show me."
Jungkook frowns and steps closer. An inch closer and they would touch.
"Taehyung, I would rip your shirt off your back and look for myself- but I don't like to endure even more pain when you are not around. So- just show me!"
"I want to leave now."
Taehyung moves but Jungkook stands in front of him, blocking the door.
"Jungkook, are you serious?"
"Show me your back."
Taehyung stomps his foot like a child and Jungkook's features soften into a smile.
"You are cute."
Taehyung stills and looks at him. He doesn't want to hear that. He huffs and turns around wordlessly, lifting his shirt up in the back.
"It's probably nothing. I bruise very easi-"
"Fuck! Your skin is angry and it's already purple. Fucķing Yugyeom!" Jungkook hisses in a low voice, standing right behind Taehyung. Very close.
"It's fine. Just don't touch me."
"I won't. Don't worry," Jungkook mumbles.
Taehyung can feel his warm breath on his nape. He hides a shiver and whips around, pulling his shirt down.
"I will kick Yugyeom's ass."
Taehyung studies Jungkook's face, questions his anger.
"No, you will not. He is your client. And why are you so worked up about it anyway? He touched me, not you."
Jungkook huffs and tilts his head. He pouts again.
"But we are friends."
Taehyung smiles sadly and shakes his head.
"Friends? We can't be friends, Jungkook! We are- soulmates," he says, whispering the last part. "How do you- I mean, friends bicker and touch each other, cuddle and hug- We can't do that."
The look of realization crosses Jungkook's face.
"Okay- then we need to find you a partner real quick, right? Afterward, we can be friends."
Taehyung grimaces and averts his eyes. He doesn't want a partner. He doesn't want anyone else.
Jungkook raises an eyebrow.
"Why do you want to be friends with me?"
"You are pretty."
Taehyung scoffs. He wants to slap Jungkook's chest, but he can't.
"Is that all? You want to befriend me because I am pretty?"
Jungkook nods with a teasing glint in his big, beautiful eyes.
"I like to look at you. That's why you need to become my friend- so you will be around me often."
Taehyung laughs at that and crosses his arms in front of his chest.
"What if I don't want to be friends with you?"
Jungkook runs a hand through his hair. He looks serious all of a sudden.
"This bond between us- it exists anyway. So, I guess, staying friends is a good thing."
Taehyung opens his mouth in shock.
Jungkook feels and acknowledges the bond after all?
"Let's go back."
Jungkook leaves the studio late. Around nine.
Everybody else is already gone.
Jungkook's lungs are burning and feel heavy. He didn't bring his inhaler since Taehyung is usually around during work.
Jungkook reaches his car and yawns. He is tired. He just wants to go home and do nothing for the rest of the night.
His phone starts to ring as Jungkook climbs inside the car. He pulls it out of his pocket and thumbs it on without looking at the screen.
Jungkook pulls the phone away from his ear and glances at the screen.
"Taehyung? Hello? I can't hear you, or are you messing with-"
The sniff on the other end sends a pang of worry straight through Jungkook's chest.
"Taehyung? What's wrong?"
"The- the electricity went out in the building, in my a-apartment."
Jungkook is tired. He doesn't understand why Taehyung is crying.
"It's dark. Too dark." Taehyung sniffs again. "My head feels like it will e-explode any second and I am so scared. The darkness-"
Right. Taehyung is scared of the dark. Jungkook finally remembers.
"Get some candles and-"
"I, I don't have candles. And- I am too scared to move around."
Jungkook curses inwardly and runs a hand through his hair.
"Okay. What about the flashlight on your phone?"
"I have only five percent battery left," Taehyung trails off and sobs. "I can't, I can't endure this any longer, it- it's so scary. It is getting hard to, to breathe."
Jungkook starts worrying. Taehyung sounds very panicked.
"Tell me your adress. I am coming to your place."
Jungkook doesn't know why Taehyung has called him out of all people. And he doesn't know why he is offering to drive to his place.
Maybe it's the soulmate bond. Jungkook doesn't know. But he needs to see Taehyung right now.
"You, you don't need to come just because I, I am cry-"
"Taehyung, tell me your address before your phone dies!"
"Rowlingstreet 22. Second floor."
"Okay. I'm already in the car. I will be with you in a bit. Just try to calm down, okay? Breathe."
Jungkook arrives fifteen minutes later. The building is totally dark.
Jungkook is nervous. He hopes that Taehyung is doing fine. He feels very worried as he rushes out of the car.
The main door downstairs is open.
Jungkook runs up to the second floor, using his phone as a flashlight.
Jungkook gasps for air and needs to stop and catch his breath for a moment. His lungs are threatening to burst any second.
Jungkook arrives in front of Taehyung's apartment and rings the doorbell. Once. Twice.
"Taehyung, it's me. Open the door."
Jungkook coughs and knocks again.
The door finally opens slowly and Jungkook gasps. He inhales and his lungs fill with air. He feels pain-free in a second.
But Jungkook's heart breaks at the sight in front of him as he points his phone's flashlight into the apartment.
Taehyung is a sobbing mess. His eyes are puffy and his hair is out of place. He wraps his arms around himself as he shivers.
Taehyung looks scared as hell and Jungkook feels the sudden urge to hug him tightly. He can't though.
"Jungkook. You came."
Jungkook enters and puts his phone on the shelf to his right. He turns his eyes back on Taehyung, studies his face.
Taehyung takes a shaky breath.
"It will probably be more painful later on- but, but I need a hug. Real bad."
Jungkook stares at him. Stares at Taehyung's begging eyes. He feels his heart beat up to his throat.
Jungkook knows he will regret it later, they both will- but he doesn't care right now. He reaches out and puts one hand on the back of Taehyung's head, pulling him close.
Taehyung collapses against his chest and Jungkook takes a deep breath, hugging him tight.
Something is different. Jungkook lungs seem better than ever before. He feels complete, whole. He takes a deep breath and hugs him tighter.
Taehyung sniffs and shudders in his arms.
"Don't cry. Everything is fine."
Taehyung seems to relax and calm down quickly. He snuggles his face into Jungkook's neck, lips touching his skin.
Jungkook shivers at the touch.
"I, I am sorry for bothering you- I, my friend is out of town and I didn't know who to call since I moved here only a month ago."
Jungkook feels Taehyung's arms tightening around him.
"It's okay. Don't worry. Are you feeling better now?"
"My headache is gone," Taehyung murmurs into Jungkook's neck, making him smile.
Jungkook pulls away reluctantly. He looks at Taehyung's flushed, tear-stained face.
"Is it better with the flashlight?
Taehyung wipes his cheek with the back of his hand and shakes his head. He pouts adorably.
"No. But I feel better- because you are here now."
They look at each other for a few seconds. Jungkook feels the urge to reach out and cup Taehyung's face. But he holds back.
Jungkook doesn't know if the pain will worsen with every new touch. He has no idea how this fucked up soulmate bond thing works.
Taehyung clears his throat and averts his eyes. He is not shaking anymore. He looks back to his normal self.
"Do you, do you want something to drink?"
"Yes, sure. A water would be great." Jungkook takes the phone and motions Taehyung to walk. "I will light the way."
Jungkook wants to ask why Taehyung is so scared of the dark, but he doesn't do it. It's probably not the right timing and also not his business.
They get two water bottles from the kitchen before heading into the living room- sitting on the sofa with a lot of space between them.
"I feel bad. I am sure that your lungs will hurt worse after our hug," Taehyung says and bites his lower lip, staring at his bottle.
"It's okay. I will survive."
Jungkook takes a deep breath. He feels good right now. He should savor this moment. "Are you feeling okay now?"
"Yes. Thank you for coming. But you don't need to ask me that again. I am good."
"Good. I will probably ask again though. I don't like to see you cry. It hurts my heart."
Taehyung turns his head to stare at Jungkook in surprise. He blinks.
"Don't say that."
It is suddenly awkward between them.
Jungkook looks at Taehyung. He adores his face. Even after he has balled his eyes out. Even with his red nose and the tired expression. He is still beautiful. Perfect.
Jungkook has been going out again, has met some guys. No one else comes close to Taehyung. He's special.
Jungkook curses. He would love to spend a night or two with him. Maybe more. But he can't accept the soulmate thing. It destroyed his parents. He won't make the same mistake.
"What are you thinking about?" Taehyung asks, noticing that Jungkook is spacing out.
"Have you met someone in the past two weeks? A potential partner?"
Taehyung takes his bottle. He looks offended. He doesn't reply, but takes a big sip of his water instead.
"Why aren't you answering?"
"Is that all you can think about these days?" Taehyung finally replies. He seems annoyed. His voice sounds tense.
"I want us to be free. Free of the pain. Free of this- Don't you want that, too?"
"Of course, I want to get rid of those awful headaches. I want to live my life in peace. Falling in love with some random dude just for the sake of it- it will not free me. On the contrary- it is stressing me out, Jungkook."
"But you will feel good when you are in love. It's-"
"Stop it!" Taehyung groans and glares at him. "What if I fall in love and it won't work out? You would still be my soulmate. What then? Will the pain just come back?"
Jungkook widens his eyes in shock. He hasn't thought so far ahead yet.
"I don't know, Taehyung. Ask your aunt- maybe you just need to find someone who has- I don't even know. Fuck! This whole soulmate bullshit is seriously frustrating. You can fall-"
"I will not fall in love, Jungkook! I will not!" Taehyung almost yells and stands up.
The lights turn on again all of a sudden and Jungkook blinks to get used to the brightness. He takes his phone and turns off the flashlight before looking up at Taehyung once again.
"What are you saying? I thought we had a deal?"
"No, Jungkook. You made that deal with yourself. You are my soulmate. There's a connection between us, a bond that is very strong-"
"And I am sorry if you choose to ignore that. But I can't! Even thinking about getting close to another guy who is not you-"
Jungkook stands up as well. He doesn't like where this is going.
"Taehyung, what are you doing right now?"
"I'm telling the truth!" Taehyung runs a hair through his already tousled hair. He sighs. "You don't want to deal with me and the fact that I am your soulmate? Fine. But-"
"Let me finish! You can ignore it and do whatever you want- but you can't expect me to do the same. I can't fall in love with someone else because my heart is already committed. I am not able to fall in love with someone else. Sorry to disappoint you."
The realization of Taehyung's words hit Jungkook like a ton of bricks. He opens his mouth and closes it again.
No. Please, not.
"Taehyung, you know that I can't be that guy for you-"
"Taehyung, I rushed to your place to help you and you are throwing me out? Just like that?"
"Yes. I am tired. I am a burden to you. I am your fucking soulmate who will probably haunt you for the rest of your life. That's what you think, right? Then- leave."
Jungkook is taken aback. He has never seen Taehyung that angry, that cold towards him. His eyes has lost the sparkle
"You are being unfair right now."
Something flickers in Taehyung's eyes. Something frightening and dark.
"Thank you for coming. Now- leave."
"Taehyung, what the fuck? Why are you so mad at me all of a sudden? I am just trying to find a solution."
"Please, go." Taehyung starts moving and heads towards the hallway. "I will make sure to find someone in the next days and fall in love so you can finally get rid of me."
Jungkook follows him, starts to feels angry himself. At Taehyung. At fate. At the universe. At whoever invented soulmates.
"That's not what I want! Don't turn my words around!"
"Go! Just go!"
Taehyung opens the door and waits for Jungkook to leave. He doesn't look at him.
"Alright. As you wish." Jungkook glares at Taehyung one more time before walking out of the door. "Fuck this!"
Jungkook rushes towards the stairs and by the time he reaches his car, his lungs feel like they are on fire. He sits inside and tries to slow his breathing.
Jungkook hits the steering wheel with his fist and screams.
Jungkook shouldn't have hugged Taehyung. It feels like the pain has doubled. And his heart starts to ache, too.
[ I am scared to write the next part
They are like two stubborn kids, both refuse to apologize. They keep bumping into each other, elbowing each other out of the way at work.
It's stupid and dangerous. Every new touch could cause them to suffer even more pain later on. But Taehyung is huffy. He doesn't care.
"Just don't use too much blush, please."
Taehyung is pulled out of his thoughts and looks at the female model in front of him.
"Sure. You don't need it anyway. You already have a natural blush," Taehyung says and forces himself to focus on work.
Taehyung's headaches has worsened after he had kicked Jungkook out of his apartment three days ago.
Taehyung knows it's his own fault. He should just ignore the soulmate bond, too. Should be indifferent about it- like Jungkook. But he can't.
Jungkook is still in his heart, imprinted on Taehyung's soul. Even if he wants to hate and despise him- it's not working.
Taehyung curses under his breath and picks up the mascara.
"Are you done with the make-up?" Hobi asks and approaches them.
"Five more minutes," Taehyung says and throws him a quick glance.
"Are you alright?"
Hobi hums and crosses his arms in front of his chest, watching Taehyung work.
"You don't seem very focused these days."
Taehyung notices Jungkook glancing in their direction, listening to them. He ignores him.
"Sorry. I have a hot date tonight and I am very excited," Taehyung says and looks at Hobi with a smile, acting happy.
A loud clang causes them to turn their heads in Jungkook's direction. The latter bends down and picks up an empty soda can, cursing.
"What? What is it?" Jungkook hisses at them before throwing the can into the trash.
"God- whatever happened between you two, it sucks. Just fūck it out already or something. The tension is unbearable," Hobi says loud enough for everyone to hear.
"What are you saying?" Taehyung mumbles and averts his eyes. He hopes that he isn't blushing.
The female model looks up at him with curious eyes. She smiles.
"Shut up, Hobi, seriously!" Jungkook calls over annoyed. He is definitely in a bad mood.
Taehyung regrets everything. He regrets hugging Jungkook a few days ago, regrets touching him today at work- just to annoy him.
Right now Taehyung feels so much pain that he wants to cry. His throbbing head hurts, threatening to explode any second.
Taehyung feels horrible and he can't think about anything else than the pain. It even feels like the pain is getting stronger by the minute.
How is that even possible?
"Hey, are you okay? You look absentminded. And a little pale."
Taehyung turns his eyes on his date.
Jun seems nice and he is good-looking. But that's it. Jun is not Jungkook.
Taehyung is not attracted to him. Not even a tiny little bit.
"Sorry, I'm fine. I just have a bad headache."
Jun's face falls and he leans back in his chair.
"That's not good. It could be because of the weather. The radio moderator said a thunderstorm is on the way."
Taehyung wants to laugh out loud.
"Yes, it's probably the weather."
Another wave of pain hits and Taehyung grimaces. He wants to scream. Something doesn't seem right. It hurts too much.
"So- Jimin said that you are interested in arts?" Jun asks, trying to keep the conversation going.
"Ah, yes. I love going to museums and I paint in my free time."
Jun nods and takes his wine glass.
Taehyung curses inwardly. He wants to go home and hide under his blanket. He is in so much pain that he starts to feel dizzy.
"I am into architecture and-"
"Listen, I am so sorry, but I feel very unwell right now. I- I need to go home."
"Oh my- shit, you look very pale, Taehyung. Maybe you shouldn't stand up right now."
"No, I am fine. I just need some fresh air," Taehyung says and gets up. Immediately, a bolt of pain shoots across his forehead.
Jun stands up and grabs Taehyung's arm to steady him.
"Let me help you outside and then I come back and pay for the drinks."
Taehyung isn't listening to him anymore. He fights hard not to faint. He feels tears welling up in his eyes because of the pain.
They head outside and Taehyung leans against a tree, trying to take deep breaths.
"Hey, you look awful. Let me call an ambulance."
Taehyung slides down the tree until he is sitting on the cold ground. The first raindrops start to fall.
"No, the hospital can't help me."
Jungkook is driving too fast, has even speeded through a red light already. But he doesn't care. All he cares about is getting to Taehyung.
Jungkook gulps. Taehyung is probably in danger and it's his fault.
"Please, be okay. I'm coming."
[ two hours ago..]
Jungkook stands in front of the old, shabby-looking house and rings the doorbell.
An elder woman opens the door with a smile.
"Jungkook? Hello! I was already waiting for you. Please, come inside."
"I was surprised when you called me. It must be urgent."
Jungkook follows the women into the living room.
"My mom told me that you are a walking encyclopedia of soulmates and their bonds."
Ana laughs and sits down on the grey sofa. She pats the spot next to him.
"Yes, you can say that, darling. After my sister met her soulmate many years ago, I started to read a lot about this subject. It is fascinating me. There are so many different kinds of soulmates- you wouldn't believe it. So many things to discover."
Jungkook scratches his head and sighs.
"Yeah, actually, I am not into this whole soulmate thing. But- I met mine and-"
"How do you know that?"
"It hurts when we are apart. A lot. That's why I came to talk to you. The pain is getting unbearable."
Anas face falls. She looks sad.
"Oh- that means you both don't accept each other as soulmates then?"
Jungkook grimaces and rubs his forehead.
"It's me. I am the one who doesn't accept it. And it's not like I can't stand him. God, Taehyung- he is beautiful. But- it's just that I am not into that soulmate thing. I can't do this. I have my reasons."
Ana nods but sighs softly. She seems genuinely sad.
"Poor soul. He must hurt a lot because you-"
"I told Taehyung right away that I won't be his soulmate. I can't give him what he want. I can't be that person. So-"
"I am not talking about heartbreak, Jungkook. I am talking about real pain. He must be in so much physical pain."
Jungkook raises an eyebrow. He shrugs.
"Yes, of course. We both are. As I said- it's unbearable by now and the medication doesn't help anymore. I need to know-"
"Jungkook. Wait. Don't tell me you don't know about it."
"What are you talking about?"
"If soulmates meet and fall in love, then they won't feel any pain- even when being apart from each other. If they both don't accept each other as soulmates, then they will be in pain-"
"Yes, I know."
Ana rests her hand on his lap. He looks worried. About him? About Taehyung?
"Jungkook. If only one soulmate doesn't accept the bond and the other does- it's, he is hurting a lot. Much more than you. It doubles the pain since you don't want him as your soulmate."
Jungkook freezes. His heart starts beating faster.
It doubles the pain?
It is already unbearable for him right now. They had touched too often at work. His lungs are burning- even after using the inhaler.
"But-but that means Taehyung must-"
"Jungkook, what kind of pain does Taehyung have? Where?"
"It's, it's his head. Headaches," Jungkook mumbles absentmindedly, placing his hand on his forehead.
Ana gasps and grabs Jungkook's arm. She stands up, pulling him along.
"Where is your soulmate right now?"
"I, I don't know. He is on a date."
Jungkook feels panic rise inside his chest. He starts to realize the full extent of the situation.
"Where? How far away is he right now?"
"I don't know. You live out of town. I drove for almost one hour to come to your place."
"Oh my God! Don't you know that too much distance makes it even worse?" Ana almost yells. She sounds panicked and starts pushing Jungkook towards the hallway.
"No. Fuck, no I didn't know. How could I? Fuck! Taehyung."
Fear engulfs Jungkook like a tidal wave. He wants to scream, wants to cry. He hates himself so much.
"Your soulmate is in danger, Jungkook! Headaches- It could harm his brain. He could fall into a coma if the pain is too much-"
"I need to go. I need to leave. Taehyung."
Jungkook runs. He runs as fast as he can. As fast as his lungs allow him. He had called Hobi while driving, forcing his friend to tell him where Taehyung is.
Jungkook had to park his car at a random street. The restaurant is in a car-free area.
Please, be okay.
Jungkook feels tears well up in his eyes. He can't imagine how much pain Taehyung must have to endure right now. Jungkook hopes that he is alright. Hopes that he is still in the restaurant.
Jungkook had tried to call Taehyung from the car, but to no avail.
Jungkook rounds a corner and stops in his tracks. There is a guy, hovering over a person- right next to the restaurant.
Jungkook approaches closer and his heart almost stops beating at the sight in front of him.
Taehyung lays on the ground next to a tree. His eyes are closed and his face is flushed. Rain is dripping down on him.
Jungkook closes the distance and pushes the other guy away.
"Yah, who are you? Don't touch him. He is-"
"Fuck off! He is my soulmate!" Jungkook hisses while crouching down next to Taehyung. He looks fragile, his breathing seems shallow.
Jungkook needs to do something. Now. He leans down and presses his lips on Taehyung's.
The kiss fills Jungkook's lungs with air. But he doesn't care about himself right now. He reaches out and places a hand on Taehyung's head -as if trying to take the pain away.
"I'm here. You are okay. Open your eyes," Jungkook whisperes before kissing him again, hoping it helps.
Taehyung's breath hitches and he starts to kiss back with closed eyes. Slowly. Brushing his lips over Jungkook's once, twice.
"Taehyung. Hey, look at me," Jungkook whispers and lifts his head to stare at him. He wipes the raindrops of his pale face.
Taehyung hums and flutters his eyes open. He looks up at him and smiles softly.
"Yes, it's me. Are you feeling better? Is the pain gone?" Jungkook asks worriedly and places his hand on Taehyung's forehead once again. "Please, tell me that you are okay."
"It still hurts. But-but I am better now."
Jungkook leans down and drops a few light kisses on Taehyung's head. He wants the pain gone. Right now.
"He needs to go to the hospital. Let me carry him," the guy, who is probably Taehyung's date, says.
Jungkook glares up at him for a second. "I told you to fuck off! He is not available. And he doesn't need a hospital. He needs me. Leave us alone," he snaps before glancing down at Taehyung again, his eyes softening.
"Jungkook, you are crying," Taehyung mumbles and reaches out, his fingertips touching Jungkook's cheek.
"I am not. That's the rain."
Taehyung chuckles softly. He seems to get better by the second.
Jungkook leans down and kisses his pretty smile.
Taehyung suddenly frowns with a pout.
"What are you doing? You will k!ll me. If you just came here to save me for now- it doesn't change anything. I will d!e after you leave me again. I can't endure any more pain and you kissed me. It will worsen-"
Jungkook kisses him again and let his lips linger on Taehyung's. He doesn't want to pull away anymore.
Taehyung's lips taste like strawberries. They are as addictive as Taehyung himself.
"I won't leave you."
Jungkook cups his chin, forces Taehyung to look at him.
"Tell me the truth. Did you know that your pain is so much stronger than mine since I- since I didn't accept you as my soulmate?"
Taehyung tries to look away, but Jungkook doesn't loosen the grip on his chin.
"I knew it. My aunt told me back then."
Jungkook puts his hand away and leans down, resting his head on Taehyung's chest.
"Why? Why didn't you tell me? Why- are you crazy?"
Taehyung takes a deep, shaky breath and buries his hand in Jungkook's hair. It feels nice.
"I didn't want you to- I didn't want my pain to influence you or your decision. I didn't want to burden you. I still don't want to. You don't need to this just because-"
Jungkook lifts his head and stares at Taehyung's beautiful, soft eyes.
God, how could he have been so stupid? So blind?
"I will help you to get up right now. And then I will go into the restaurant and bring you a glass of water. And you won't feel any pain while I am away."
Taehyung widens his eyes. He is obviously scared to get the horrible headache again. He grabs Jungkook's arm as he starts to pull away.
"What are you talking about? Don't go. I don't want the pain to come back right now. Don't leave-"
Jungkook silences him with his lips. He wants Taehyung to understand it without words.
"Get up. You will get sick."
"I don't need water. Please, stay with me. Just for a while. I am not ready to get the-"
Jungkook pulls Taehyung up effortlessly and cups his face.
"Do you know that soulmates who accept their bond don't feel any pain when they are apart from each other?"
Taehyung pouts. He is still not realizing what Jungkook is talking about.
"Yes. But why-"
"Tae, I am sorry for being such a fucking idiot. I am sorry for making you hurt so much. I- I want you. I- fuck, I thought I will lose you. I thought I would never see your smile or your eyes again. I feared that I've lost you before realizing it. Before admitting it."
Jungkook rests his forehead against Taehyung's.
"I feared that I could repeat my parents mistakes. That this soulmate thing would destroy me and my future." Jungkook kisses Taehyung's nose, his cheek. "When I stepped into that elevator- I felt it. I felt it already."
Tears well up in Taehyung's eyes.
"I love you. I am not scared anymore. I am not my parents. I am me and I want you. It's pretty easy. You are my soulmate. And I am a happy motherfūcker because my soulmate is the most handsome, cute, sexy, sweet-"
Taehyung kisses him. He kisses Jungkook with so much force that they stumble back.
"I love you, too, you stupid idiot. And I want you. This date didn't mean anything to me. I was only thinking about you."
[ I will post one last part. It will be fluff, fluff, fluff and eventually more
[ Choose: ]
Taehyung is in bed. He is sick and feels feverish. Him laying on the cold, wet ground in front of the restaurant two days ago had not been the best idea.
Taehyung is still in a good mood though. He is happy- feels butterflies in his tummy. He can't stop smiling. He is in love.
Jungkook is in the kitchen, making him a soup.
Jungkook. His soulmate.
Taehyung pulls the blanket over his head and squeals.
He couldn't believe it at first. Couldn't believe that Jungkook feels the same. But the pain, the headaches are gone.
Taehyung feels pain-free -whenever Jungkook's around and whenever they are apart.
"Baby, what are you doing? Are you hiding from me?"
Taehyung pulls the blanket away and looks at Jungkook.
Taehyung almost starts drooling at the sight of his sexy soulmate.
Jungkook is bare-chested -only wearing an apron.
Taehyung licks his lips and stares. Shamelessly. He wants to do so many things with his soulmate, but the latter doesn't allow it. Not yet.
Jungkook wants him to get healthy first. It's cute but frustrating at the same time.
"I was waiting for you, patiently."
"Under the blanket?" Jungkook asks with a chuckle and places the tray with the soup on his bed. He then leans in and presses a sweet kiss on Taehyung's lips. "My pretty baby."
"I am not. I look sick and ugly. Give me another kiss," Taehyung whines as Jungkook is already pulling away.
"You are still the prettiest! Don't you dare to think anything else about yourself," Jungkook says and kisses Taehyung again. Once, twice. "And you taste like heaven."
"You are so cheesy," Taehyung mumbles against Jungkook's mouth- demanding another kiss.
"And you are so greedy for my lips, baby. I am not complaining though."
Taehyung clutches Jungkook's apron and keeps him in place, deepening the kiss with a greedy moan.
"Baby, you are cruel. Do you want me to get sick, too?" Jungkook mumbles and smiles against Taehyung's lips.
"You're a hypocrite. Who attacked me with his lips right after entering my apartment?" Taehyung asks teasingly.
Jungkook kisses him.
"How could I resist? I was counting the minutes until I could finally leave the studio. I wasn't focussing, almost dropped the camera once."
Taehyung leans back and widens his eyes.
"Hobi will k!ll you. The camera looks very expensive. What was distracting you?"
"Yeah, I bet you want to know that. Eat your soup, baby."
"Tell me," Taehyung whines as Jungkook pulls away.
"Later. Eat your soup as long as it is still warm."
Taehyung pouts but takes the spoon. He glances at Jungkook.
"Will you stay the night?"
"I couldn't wait to come see you. And I need to take care of your sick ass. Why should I leave? I am not stupid."
Taehyung smiles happily, satisfied with the answer. He looks down at the
bowl. The soup smells delicious.
"You look very sexy wearing my apron by the way. The little bears holding their honey suits you," Taehyung teases before starting to eat the soup.
Jungkook chuckles and straightens up. He sighs dramatically and unties the apron strings, revealing his bare chest in all its glory.
Taehyung almost drops the spoon. His mouth goes dry at the sight of Jungkook's muscles, his abs.
"What are you doing?"
"You are making fun of me, so I am getting rid of the apron. Though I really do like the bears. They remind me of you."
Taehyung scoffs and averts his eyes, tries to hide his blush- though he is sure it's showing.
"Why are you even naked?"
"I told you that I don't want to get my white shirt dirty while cooking."
"Yeah, sure. Show off."
Jungkook smirks and crawls into bed beside Taehyung, pressing a kiss on his neck.
"Why? Don't you like what you see, baby?"
Taehyung tries not to be affected by the kiss. He looks at Jungkook and lowers his eyes to his chest.
"I love it. But since I am not allowed to touch- it's no fun."
Jungkook chuckles and pressed another light kiss on Taehyung's neck.
"You've no idea what I want to do to you."
Taehyung slaps Jungkook's arm and coughs.
"Yah! Don't say something like that when nothing is going to happen."
"Baby, you know that we wouldn't be able to stop and I want you to get strong and healthy first."
Taehyung takes the spoon but starts coughing again.
Jungkook reaches out and pats his head in a tender way.
"Oh, my poor baby got sick. I need to take care of my pretty, soft baby."
Taehyung glares at him.
"Shut up," he says, knowing that Jungkook is making fun of him.
"Baby, be nice. Or your soulmate is going to leave again," Jungkook mumbles with a wink and keeps patting Taehyung's head.
"My /soulmate/ got me into this mess in the first place."
Jungkook ignores that but pulls his hand away. He smiles. He seems very happy.
"I love you."
Jungkook looks surprised for a second. He stares at Taehyung intently, his eyes are wide.
"Baby, I am trying very hard to hold back while you are sick. Don't make me grab you and-"
"Maybe I want you to grab me," Taehyung mumbles and tilts his head seductively.
Taehyung grabs the tray and puts it on the bedside table. He turns to face Jungkook and slowly reaches out to trace his fingertips down his chest, teasing him.
"What are you doing?"
Taehyung draws his finger down Jungkook's abdomen.
"Tell me- why did you almost drop the camera at work today? What distracted you so much?"
Jungkook catches Taehyung's hand and holds him back from moving lower.
"You know exactly what's distracting me all the damn time. If you are around, then it's you. If you are not around- then it is still you. Just in my head. I think about your beautiful face and how I want to pepper kisses all over it. I think about your pretty smile that makes me+
want to kiss you senseless. I think about you and how you make me feel and that I am a lucky bastard to get you as my soulmate."
Taehyung wants him so bad. Right now. He wraps his arms around Jungkook and sits on his lap, straddling him.
"Is that all?"
"Tae, don't tease me, you menace," Jungkook says but places his hands on Taehyung's thighs, squeezing them.
"I love you."
"I love you, too. And we will still not do anything tonight. You are still sick, remember?"
Taehyung rolls his eyes and leans in, his lips
close to Jungkook's ears.
"It's like- since you've accepted the bond, I feel like I am very, very hòrny for you."
