Jungkook smirks. "That's their problem, then."

Jungkook feels annoyed.
He's been feeling extremely annoyed all the time these days, actually. It's been a whole year since he returned to the palace after finishing his degree like a normal person, but life here keeps reminding him that he's born into royalty.
Currently, the reason behind Jungkook's annoyance is his parents' stubborn wish to get him engaged.
Jungkook doesn't want to. Especially not to a woman he hasn't even met in his entire life. All this just so his bride is a royal? Jungkook thinks it's ridiculous.
He isn't going to lie – being a royal and enjoying the lush life is definitely a plus point; He likes it. But sometimes, he wants some semblance to normalcy in his life.
The palace refuses to give him that. With all their rules set in stone, Jungkook feels suffocated sometimes.
But he's had his fair share of breaking those rules while he was away for university.
Only get involved with royals? Do not have sex before marriage? Yeah right. Jungkook has broken those rules. Frequently, multiple times. And he doesn't regret it one bit.
Tonight, specifically, he's annoyed because he's supposed to meet this omega who is to become his bride.
Jungkook doesn't really have a choice – he tried to be a rebel, but his parents are hell bent on getting him to at least meet the woman.
He's getting ready for their meeting, and he doesn't know what to wear. He doesn't want to look too good, but doesn't want to look shabby either.
Usually, he chooses his outfits, then maids iron and lay them out for him to wear. Today, he doesn't even care enough to choose.
Jungkook stands in front of the mirror, checking himself out. He is shirtless, residual water drops from his shower trickling down his chiseled form.
Jungkook sighs, checking out his form in the mirror. He runs a hand over his tattoo sleeve, thinks he should color some parts in.
It's getting late, and he still doesn't know what to wear. It's annoying him. Nobody has even laid anything out, even though he's already asked them to get his clothes ready.
The clock is ticking, and he just wants to get it done with.
Jungkook also owns a software company of his own – he can't possibly spend his life just sitting in the palace premises.
And because of this arrangement, Jungkook has to delay some of his work for today. He hates it. It all feels like a big waste of time.
"Can I please have my outfits?" Jungkook says, voice quite loud. He hopes the first maid who hears it, brings his clothes in.
There's no answer. Jungkook's brows draw closer together in exasperation.
"Can some of you please learn to respect time?" Jungkook says again, loud enough for them to hear.
This time, there's still no sound, but Jungkook suddenly smells a new, very specific scent. It's an omega.
His eyes snap up abruptly towards the mirror, meeting with his own reflection as he thinks.
They usually hire all beta maids. Who is it, then? Jungkook sure as hell hopes it's not the omega he's supposed to meet.
And then, Jungkook hears the shuffling of feet outside.
He turns to look over his shoulder, and keeps his eye on the door, waiting for some more movement. "Did you get my clothes yet?"
"Yes, your highness." A voice answers. Jungkook recognises it. It's one of the maids who take care of stuff for him.
Why then, does Jungkook smell an unfamiliar omega here? He looks at the door through the mirror, suspicious. "And? Do I need to invite you to come in?"
"I apologise, your highness." The maid says. "Your clothes are being sent in right now."
Jungkook hums, and waits. He hears hushed whispers, and it sounds like the maids are having a conversation outside, at the expense of Jungkook's time. He feels his temper rising again.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" He almost yells, and turns around, brows drawn together and jaw clenched. "I've been waiting for–"
The door is suddenly pushed open, and someone seems to have been pushed inside along with it as well. Jungkook doesn't continue his sentence.
There it is. The source of the smell. Strawberries and roses, something sweet. The scent is stronger now that the person is inside his room.
Jungkook is pleasantly surprised. It's a man.
[ A/N : What if I stop here? LMAO.
I'm kidding. How is it going so far? ]
There's never really been male servants within the palace, and whenever there have, they've been much older. Just butlers, who don't take care of the small stuff.
This person looks like he's around Jungkook's age. Jungkook has never, ever met a male omega.
And the other thing that Jungkook finds striking is how exceptionally beautiful he is. Could pass for royalty, Jungkook thinks, as he eyes the man up and down.
The man doesn't look at Jungkook, but does stand straight and tall.
Then, the man finally says something. "Your highness, your clothes."
His voice isn't too shaky, and it's low pitched and soothing. Jungkook hadn't been expecting it to be so deep, and feels instantly intrigued by everything he sees and hears.
Jungkook's brows draw close together again, and he narrows his eyes. "And you are...?"
"I just joined today, your highness." The man answers. His voice is steady, but there's a hint of timidness in it. "I've been appointed to help you with your day to day life. Personally."
Jungkook quirks a brow, face inexpressive otherwise, and turns his body around fully now. "Omega?"
There's a pause on the other end, followed by a clearing of the throat, and a nod of the head. "Yes, your highness."
"I've never met a male omega before." Jungkook crosses his arms, and leans against the wooden frame of his dresser.
"Oh..I see." The man answers politely, eyes only on the clothes in his hand. "Where shall I lay these down, your highness?"
"Put them on the bed." Jungkook says, unable to take his eyes off the man's face. "What's your name?"
"Kim Taehyung, your highness." He answers, as he lays down Jungkook's expensive clothes on the bed carefully.
"Taehyung–ssi." Jungkook says the name out loud, mostly to himself. He's unable to take his eyes off of Taehyung's face.
Taehyung is dressed in a white frilly shirt paired with a black waistcoat and black dress pants that accentuate his curves. Jungkook notices.
Obviously, Jungkook notices. He has a thing for pretty. He doesn't say anything, though. Just takes in everything with his eyes.
"Is there anything else I can help you with?" Taehyung asks, looking at the clothes he just put on the bed.
Jungkook hums, and Taehyung bites his lips. He's visibly a little nervous, although he's trying to not let it show.
"For starters." Jungkook crosses his arms, expression as unreadable as ever. "You could look at me when I'm talking to you."
Taehyung's eyes immediately snap to Jungkook then, and he politely bows, followed by a nod. "I'm sorry, your highness. I'm just a little–"
"Nervous?" Jungkook tilts his head, eyeing him from head to toe. "First day and everything?"
Taehyung nods. "Precisely, your highness."
Jungkook turns around again, and places both his hands on the dresser, on either side of the mirror, and shifts his weight onto them. He then looks at Taehyung through the mirror.
Taehyung makes eye contact for just a moment before looking away again. Jungkook's gaze is way too intense to keep up with.
"Well." Jungkook keeps looking at Taehyung's eyes regardless. "The clothes aren't going to put themselves on me, are they?"
Taehyung's eyes go wide for a fraction of a second, because he wasn't told about this part of the job. His cheeks flush red, and he can't look at Jungkook anymore.
Neither does he have an option – he can't disobey Jungkook. He's the prince for crying out loud.
He wonders for a moment why a fully grown, fully functional and completely self-sufficient man needs someone else to put on his clothes, out of all things.
Especially when he already has almost every other chore done for him.
But then again, maybe that's how royalty functions.
Taehyung takes a step forward, and feels his hands go a little cold. He lifts the shirt up, first, and starts to walk towards where the prince is standing, shirtless.
Jungkook never looks away from Taehyung, eyes following him through the mirror as he approaches.
Taehyung stops when he's right behind Jungkook, their faces at level with each other.
Taehyung takes in the expanse of skin across Jungkook's bare back, and can't help but stare at the ink beautifully wrapped around his right arm.
He would stare at Jungkook's face too, but he's so intimidating that Taehyung can't find it in himself to.
Jungkook is rather handsome, though, he thinks. He looks every bit a prince, even without the expensive royal clothes or makeup.
Jungkook's scent is very lucrative, too. Earthy, reminds Taehyung of rain and of the forest. Everything about him makes Taehyung feel intimidated.
Taehyung's hands shake a little as he tries to figure out how to go about it. He then holds the shirt up, the opening of the sleeve near Jungkook's shoulder.
Jungkook slides his arm into it, eyes still on Taehyung. Then, he slides his other arm into the shirt.
Taehyung pauses for a moment then, wondering what to do next.
Jungkook fixes the collar of his shirt, eyes shifting to his own reflection now. Then, he says. "What about the buttons, Taehyung-ssi?"
Taehyung shifts his gaze to look at Jungkook's eyes, and that's the exact moment the prince chooses to make eye contact through the mirror again.
Taehyung feels like he burns under the gaze, as he slowly takes steps towards the spot in front of Jungkook.
Their eyes are now at level with each other, as they stand face to face, but Taehyung can't hold the gaze for long this time either. He quickly looks down at Jungkook's chest, but the sight just makes him blush again.
Jungkook's chest is very toned, very prominent.
With trembling fingers, Taehyung holds one end and a button, careful not to touch Jungkook's skin. He pulls the parts closer together, and tries to push the first button in through the hole to secure the shirt.
It's immediately tight against Jungkook's chest, taut with creases.
"Am I going to go out like this?" Jungkook asks, voice relaxed and low. "With just one button done?"
"I'm sorry, your highness." Taehyung says, and immediately starts to bring his hands up again, his breath held.
Taehyung is just about to do the other buttons, when Jungkook grabs both of his wrists with his hands and stops him. Taehyung looks into his eyes, a little confused and a little terrified.
"Yes, your highness?" Taehyung asks, eyes wide.
Jungkook is very calm and relaxed, and his eyes are lidded, a little dark as they focus on several parts of Taehyung's face closely. "What would she think of it?"
"Sorry, your highness?" Taehyung asks. He's confused.
The proximity is wreaking havoc on Taehyung's heart, which buzzes violently in his chest. Taehyung is terrified, and doesn't know where this is going.
Jungkook's strong, attractive scent isn't helping either. If only Taehyung could get his omega to calm down.
"Do you think she'll like this outfit on me?" Jungkook asks, but he couldn't give one flying fuck about her.
"Your date?" Taehyung swallows the lump in his throat, and tries to control his heart that's going crazy in his chest.
"Yeah." Jungkook simply says. "Would she like it if I left a few buttons undone?"
Taehyung's brain almost short circuits at the question. And Taehyung is terrified, because Jungkook doesn't even have a readable expression on his face.
"I'm not... sure. I'm sorry, your highness." Taehyung starts to ramble. "Not that you look bad– Actually, I–"
"Shh." Jungkook says then, eyes narrowed, and Taehyung goes quiet. Licks his lips because he's feeling really nervous under Jungkook's sultry gaze.
And perhaps Jungkook's alpha is taking Taehyung's scent up way too well, because Jungkook doesn't really have a reason to do this, and yet he keeps talking.
"And you?" Jungkook asks then, because it's thrilling. "Would you like it if I left the buttons undone?"

"Sorry, your highness?" Taehyung merely manages to whisper, heart lodging in his throat.
"You heard me." Jungkook simply says, voice low and raspy, expression unmoved.
"B-but my opinion doesn't matter." Taehyung answers, feeling like he's going to combust under Jungkook's constant stare.
"Shh. Only answer as much as you're asked." Jungkook says, a slight frown on his forehead now.
"Sorry, your highness." Taehyung whispers, suddenly scared.
Jungkook keeps looking into his eyes for a few seconds straight, but it feels like an eternity. Then, he suddenly steps back, but his eyes don't leave Taehyung's for even a single second.
"Relax." Jungkook says, and looks past Taehyung into the mirror. "I was kidding about the buttons."
Taehyung, sweating, looks at him with a confused expression. Jungkook isn't smiling one bit, so he doesn't understand the joke.
"Sorry?" He asks again, and his voice comes out rather weak. He winces when he hears how he sounds.
Jungkook doesn't answer him. Just eyes him up and down again, shamelessly, and Taehyung once again feels like he's going to explode under Jungkook's gaze.
Then, Jungkook gestures him to move to the side, and so he does.
Jungkook continues to stare at his own reflection as he works his way up his buttons quickly. He doesn't answer Taehyung further, doesn't ask for anything else.
"C-Can I do anything else for you?" Taehyung asks him then, from where he is standing at Jungkook's side.
Jungkook quirks his pierced brow. "I can put my trousers on myself, if you'd like to give me some privacy?"
Taehyung bows, feeling more and more mortified by the second. He starts to take long steps towards the door, and is quick to step out and shut it behind himself.
As soon as he's outside, and the prince can't see him anymore, he leans against the door and breathes out in relief.
And these are just the first few minutes of working for Jungkook. Taehyung has no idea how it's going to be from now on.
But for now, he can breathe in peace until the prince returns from his date.
There's just one thing on Jungkook's mind as he waits for the woman to arrive.
The new male omega in the palace – he's... something. Jungkook can't forget his pretty eyes, his lush lips, the beautiful curves on his body.
If his interest in meeting this woman was zero before, it has dipped down into the negative now. He hasn't stopped thinking about Taehyung since he laid eyes on him.
He's never seen a man with a more beautiful face. How is Taehyung not some omega prince himself?
Sinful thoughts have crossed his mind several times too, since he saw Taehyung a few hours ago. He fiddles with the rings on his fingers, as he thinks about him.
Taehyung would look good under–
"Hi, you must be prince Jungkook?" A shrill, annoying voice cuts off his thoughts. "I'm princess Miyeol!"
Jungkook feels instant annoyance bubble up, and just wants to leave, but he knows he has to keep it civil. He stands, smiles, and bows.
But his smile doesn't reach his eyes once throughout the entire dinner. He's bored out of his wits, especially because he doesn't even want to focus on her in the first place.
Her face is right in front of his eyes, but his mind paints a vivid picture of someone else.
Miyeol rambles on and about her European vacation and the amount of money she's spent in this week alone, and Jungkook just zones out.
He's physically present at this table, but his mind keeps drifting to Taehyung. There's something about him that has Jungkook hooked on already.
This is the guy who's going to be there to personally do Jungkook's chores for him? If he's going to be around all the time, Jungkook is kind of looking forward to it.
Jungkook can't wait to get out of this fucking joke of a date.
Maybe he's going to go back and give Taehyung another task that's not even his job.
He bites his lips when he remembers. This was the first time since he's been functional that he asked someone else to put his clothes on for him – Couldn't help it. Doesn't know why he did it.
Jungkook manages to cut the date short somehow, and thinks about Taehyung the entire way back.
He feels heat pool in his stomach as several ideas cross his mind, and he can't believe that for the first time in so long, he isn't dreading the idea of stepping back into the palace.
Jungkook takes long strides when he reaches, hands in his pockets and the usual inscrutable expression on his face.
He heads into his favorite part of the palace. He likes to sit here and stare at the lawn and the giant fountain in the center of it. It gives him peace of mind.
But just a few moments after he settles down, he hears the sound of chattering in the distance.
Jungkook thinks it sounds like someone talking on the phone. And the longer he hears, he realises that the voice is familiar – It's the one he discovered just a few hours ago.
Jungkook realises that the phone is on speaker, and he hears some parts of the conversation clearly.
It's not his fault that Taehyung is wandering into his personal spot, so he doesn't budge. It's not like he came here intending to overhear or something.
[ A/N : Okay, the fun part is about to start!
Are you liking the story so far? ]
"What's the prince like?" The voice on the other end asks.
"Oh. He's dreamy." Taehyung answers, sounding shy.
Jungkook's eyes flit to the direction of the sound, and his fingers come up to rest on his lips. He suddenly feels extremely amused.
Did Taehyung really just say that?
Not that Jungkook is surprised. He does know that he's very attractive. But hearing the words come out of Taehyung's mouth makes him feel satisfied. It makes him feel victorious, in a way.
Now, he knows that Taehyung finds him attractive too. It gives him an advantage.
"Ooh. Dreamy? Tell me more, Tae!"
"He's super intimidating, though. I felt like I would stop breathing. He's kind of intense."
"That sounds hot."
"Shut up, Jimin... But yeah. He is hot. Face, body, everything."
Jungkook tunes in more and more into the conversation by the second, and finds that he's really entertained by the idea of Taehyung thinking and saying these things about him.
He wonders if he's going to hear something he doesn't like, as well.
"But...dreamy, huh? And you get to spend all day with him."
"Shut up, he's supposed to get engaged. I'm content with just formal interactions."
Jungkook rolls his eyes.
This supposed engagement probably won't even happen anymore.
"So what? At least you have eye candy 24*7 now, Tae."
"Honestly? He's so sexy. I saw him shirtless. I felt like I would get a boner, I was losing my mind."
Suddenly, Jungkook is more intrigued than ever.
A small smirk finds its way to his lips.
"Tae... You sound like you're planning to jerk off to thoughts of him."
Jungkook waits eagerly to hear Taehyung's answer, but there's a pause before he hears a hesitant "N-no, of course not, are you crazy?"
"Oh my God. You're totally planning on it aren't you?"
"Jimin, stop it!" Taehyung sounds completely flustered. Upon hearing the words, Jungkook bites the inside of his cheek in amusement, and to hold back his smile.
Jungkook lets out a long breath, leaning back into his chair. He wonders how Taehyung would feel if he knew Jungkook's heard this conversation.
Kind of wishes to find out. The thought is thrilling. Riling Taehyung up is fun, too, like he just discovered a few hours ago.
Jungkook gets up, both hands shoved in his pockets and eyes lidded, a smug look on his face. He starts taking steps towards where he can hear Taehyung talking on the phone.
Once he gets close enough, he can see Taehyung too.
Taehyung is leaning against the railing, wearing a tank top and shorts. Firstly, Jungkook notices his beautiful side profile, and the way his curls frame his face.
Then, he notices how Taehyung's body is manly and yet, there's a softness to it that probably comes with his rank.
He loves the scent that immediately fills up his senses. And then, Jungkook's eyes snap to Taehyung's bare legs.
His bare, smooth, endless legs. Jungkook wonders what else lies beneath the clothes as his eyes roam all over Taehyung's body again.
Jungkook leans against the wall, crossing his arms and letting out a heavy sigh.
And his scent must be strong or his presence must be really palpable even from afar, because Taehyung immediately turns around, and their eyes lock.
Taehyung's eyes widen, and his grip on the phone loosens. The phone slides down the side of his face and through his hand and falls onto the ground.
Taehyung stands there, frozen, unable to speak. What if Jungkook heard the conversation? Wasn't he on a date? Why is he even here?
He scrambles for words to defend himself even before Jungkook says anything. "Your highness, I–"
Jungkook quirks a brow. "You dropped your phone. Your jaw too, actually."
Taehyung picks up his phone, panicking and sweating again, and rushes forward, almost about to cry. "Your highness, did you...did you hear anything?"
Jungkook just tilts his head, face blank.
"How much did you hear, your highness?" Taehyung tries.
"Hmm, am I answerable to you?" Jungkook frowns, but he's still calm and collected, no reaction coming out of him.
Taehyung shakes his head. "No, your highness, of course not! That's...not...what I meant."
Jungkook keeps staring, like he's thinking something but isn't going to share it with Taehyung, no matter what.
And then, Taehyung bows repeatedly. "Please forgive me, I wasn't...I don't know what I was saying. Are you mad at me? Are you going to fire me? Please don't fire me."
He's totally expecting Jungkook to.
"I'm tired." Jungkook straightens his body, and starts walking ahead. "Follow me into my room."
Taehyung stares at his back, confused. "Huh?"
Jungkook stops in his tracks, turns to look over his shoulder, and stares.
Then, he turns his whole body around, and has an expression on his face which says that it should be obvious to Taehyung. "Who's going to take my shirt off for me?"
Taehyung gulps, and his throat hurts from holding in all these crazy emotions. "Yes, of course your highness."
And he follows Jungkook, still wearing his tank top and shorts, completely unaware that he's wearing them in front of Jungkook.
When Taehyung enters the room, Jungkook sits down on the bed, puts his palms on the bed behind himself and juts his chin towards the door. "Lock it."
Taehyung turns around, and then looks at Jungkook. "The door?"
Jungkook narrows his eyes. "What else?"
"Sorry." Taehyung mutters under his breath, and hurries to follow the order. It's then that he feels the cool air conditioning hit the bare skin of his legs, and he remembers.
He freezes in place for a second, brain short circuiting. He did not just wear his skimpiest nightwear in front of Jungkook.
"That's what you wear to sleep?" Jungkook suddenly asks then, and Taehyung wants to sink into the ground.
"Actually, your highness." Taehyung begins to explain. "It's a warm day, so I thought–"
Jungkook cuts him off. "I prefer sleeping shirtless. Usually just have my underwear on. You should try it. It's comfortable."
And Taehyung can only take so much. He feels the pit of his stomach twist with warmth, and can't help but imagine the visuals that Jungkook's words spark in his mind.
He looks down, blushing, as if on reflex.
"Did you think I was serious about needing help taking off my shirt?" Jungkook asks, as he slowly starts to unbutton it. "Or with putting it on in the first place?"
Taehyung looks up, unsure of the answer because Jungkook is super unpredictable.
"Weren't you?" Taehyung asks, genuinely confused.
"Was I?" Jungkook tilts his head, and undoes the last of his buttons, shirt falling apart and exposing his chiseled torso again.
"I don't know, your highness." Taehyung says, squeezing his eyes shut and bowing.
"Was that your friend you were talking to?" Jungkook asks then, peeling his shirt off his body, and looking into Taehyung's eyes as he does.
Taehyung would like to vanish right about now. "Yes, your highness."
"I'm not as intimidating as you described, am I?" Jungkook casually asks.
Taehyung gulps, the huge room becoming tinier and tinier and closing in on him. "I'm sorry, your highness. I shouldn't have said those things."
"Sorry? You didn't say anything offensive." Jungkook simply states.
"I didn't?" Taehyung asks, relieved. He thinks Jungkook probably didn't hear that last bit. "I mean yeah, I did not, for sure."
Jungkook hums, expression still unreadable. "And you think I'm dreamy too? That's sweet of you."
Taehyung nervously chuckles. Wants the ground to really open up and swallow him whole this time.
And Taehyung thinks this is bad, until Jungkook opens his mouth to speak again.
"And is your friend right?" Jungkook asks.
Taehyung's heart is so, so loud in his chest, that he thinks his ribs are going to fall apart "About what, your highness?"
Jungkook leans backwards again, shifting hus weight onto his palms behind himself, as his eyes turn dark.
In a low voice, with his eyes locked onto Taehyung's, he speaks. "About you planning to jerk off to thoughts of me?"

The ground seems to slide from underneath Taehyung's feet as he hears the words, and his heart throbs against his chest violently. His lips go dry as he scrambles for words and struggles to come up with an explanation.
"Your highness, I..." He begins.
"Yes? Or no?" Jungkook's expression is unchanged, eyes focused on Taehyung's face.
And Taehyung is about to have a mental breakdown, sweat beads forming on his forehead and hands going cold.
"I'm sorry." Taehyung speaks again, eyes watering. "If you want to fire me, it's okay, but please don't tell anyone, I wasn't serious. I was just–"
"You weren't serious?" Jungkook asks then. "That's disappointing."
Taehyung looks up through the tears, confused as hell. "I'm sorry?"
Jungkook just nods, then focuses his eyes on Taehyung again, and tilts his head. "I thought you weren't kidding."
"But you–" Taehyung starts, and then pauses, looking for the right words. "Why are you disappointed?"
Jungkook lets out a sigh. "If someone finds me attractive, wouldn't that be flattering?"
"No no, I mean I was serious but–" Taehyung starts, but is cut off.
"So you were serious, then." Jungkook asks, a small smirk on his lips. It's the first time Taehyung sees something close to a smile on his face.
"This is so embarassing." Taehyung hangs his head. "Can we please not talk about this, your highness?"
"Ah, is the prince the one supposed to take orders now?" Jungkook asks, and the smirk turns into a subtle, but sure smile.
Taehyung's head snaps up in horror, eyes going big and wide and hands coming up in front of him. "No, your highness, I didn't imply that at all!"
And then, Jungkook chuckles once, teeth on full display.
Taehyung stares for a bit, because Jungkook is so beautiful like this, all smiles. It makes his face a lot more softer and Taehyung's heart melts a little.
He doesn't know if it's his omega, but Jungkook is even more attractive like this, if that's even possible.
Jungkook then points his chin towards the empty chair in front of him, gesturing Taehyung to come sit in front of him.
Taehyung's limbs freeze at that, and he shudders at the thought of sitting face to face with Jungkook.
"Come on." Jungkook says. "Sit. I don't have all night."
Taehyung hurries then, and seats himself right opposite to Jungkook. Jungkook's scent is even stronger up close, and Taehyung feels overwhelmed.
"So, where were we?" Jungkook asks, brows drawn close. "Ah, yes. Jerking off."
Taehyung looks down at his hands clasped together on his thighs, face red. "Your highness, I'm really sorry but can we please... please forget about it?"
"No way." Jungkook protests. "We're not going to forget about it. We're going to talk about it, because I'm very interested in knowing what else you think about me."
"Is this a punishment, your highness?" Taehyung looks up, lips trembling.
And at that, Jungkook's alpha probably softens a little for the omega. Jungkook sighs, and decides that maybe that's enough teasing for today.
"Jungkook." Jungkook simply states.
Taehyung looks at him for a while, trying to understand what he means, but then gives up. "What?"
Jungkook leans forward, and joins his hands together. "You can call me Jungkook when it's just the two of us."
Taehyung nearly gasps, and shakes his head. "I can't do that. I was told that I'm never supposed to address you by your name."
"Your highness." Jungkook mocks. "Isn't it a bit too much?"
"But it feels wrong..." Taehyung says, voice trailing off.
"Do you want me to go back to the previous topic of discussion?"
"Sorry, your highness."
Taehyung lets out a deep sigh, hangs his head again. He's petrified. What if Jungkook is testing him? He can't risk it. "I can't say it."
Jungkook rolls his eyes. "It's just a name."
"But I could be fired for this." Taehyung reasons.
"And who'd fire you? I wouldn't let that happen." Jungkook says, eyes lidded. "Besides, I kind of want to hear what my name sounds like rolling off your tongue."
Taehyung bites his lips in nervousness at the words, but he knows he doesn't have an option. "You're not going to tell anybody, right?"
Jungkook smiles. "It's between you and me. Private. Nobody else will or has to know."
Taehyung sighs, because he's giving up. "Jung... Jungkook..."
Jungkook bites back the smile that tries to break through his lips. "Hmm. Your voice is sexy."
And Taehyung doesn't even look up because his mind is going blank. Why is the prince flirting with him?
Taehyung doesn't know how he's supposed to respond, so he just presses his lips together and keeps looking down at his hands.
And with Jungkook's skin showing and his scent filling up the air around Taehyung, Taehyung finds it so hard to stay calm and focused anyway.
Jungkook makes it hard to think about anything but him, and he seems to know it too.
"You know, I think I'd like to see." Jungkook says then. "If you allow me to, of course."
"How can I allow or not allow you anything? You're the prince." Taehyung says, still looking at his hands. "You can do whatever you want. But what is it that you'd like to see?"
Jungkook smiles, because there's no way what he meant bounced tangentially off of Taehyung's head. Taehyung is so cute, he thinks.
"Are you sure?" Jungkook asks, the smirk on his lips growing. "Because, I really would love to watch. You."
Taehyung's body tenses up again. "Me? Watch me?"
Jungkook nods. "Wouldn't it be easier for you? You wouldn't have to imagine anymore because I'd be right in front of you when you do....it."
And then, it finally dawns upon Taehyung and he feels like he's either going to collapse or combust. Quite obviously, he can't get any words out, and just sits there, eyes wide and lips parted in shock.
Did Jungkook really just imply that?
But then, Jungkook decides that he isn't going to give Taehyung any more of a hard time tonight.
"You can go now." Jungkook says, a satisfied smile sitting on his lips. "I'll see you tomorrow morning?"
Taehyung nods, pretending that the previous conversation just didn't happen. "Of course, I'll see you tomorrow morning, your highness."
Taehyung just nods again, but doesn't say a word. He's eager to get up and leave the room.
"Good night, Taehyung-ssi."
Taehyung gets up, and bows. "Good night, your– uhh. I'm sorry."
Jungkook huffs out another laugh, and Taehyung bolts out of the room at the speed of light. As he does, he wonders if Jungkook was serious or joking, because Jungkook isn't easy to read at all.
[ A/N : Just wanted to check in mid-update to ask, how is it going so far?
Taehyung nervously waits outside Jungkook's door in the morning, knowing that it's now his job to take care of anything he needs before heading out for work.
He checks his watch and sighs, nervous and impatient. He doesn't know what to expect after the previous night.
The door opens, and Jungkook steps out looking dapper in an all black three piece-suit ensemble, hair gelled back to reveal his forehead.
Taehyung feels his heart thud in his chest. Jungkook looks every bit a prince. It's in the way he carries himself.
It's the first time their eyes meet since the previous night, and Jungkook looks at him with an express Taehyung just can't decipher. "Good morning, Taehyung-ssi. Slept well?"
Taehyung didn't, thanks to Jungkook, but he nods anyway. "D-do you need anything? Now?"
Jungkook just starts to walk ahead, and Taehyung starts to follow him, because what else is he supposed to do?
But then, Jungkook speaks. Makes an absurd request. "Not much. Just need you to to be present by my side at the table when I eat."
Taehyung isn't even sure if it's allowed, but he has no choice. He needs to keep this job for at least a few months until he finds a better one.
He follows Jungkook to the dining area, and Jungkook greets his parents and explains that he wants Taehyung to just stand there.
Jungkook takes a seat at the table, the king and queen already seated and waiting for him.
Their food is served and Jungkook is just about to start eating, when his parents bring up the topic of Miyeol again.
"You should give her another chance, Jungkook-ah." His mother says.
"I don't want to." Jungkook simply says, punctuates it with his tone. He sounds serious again, no sign of the sides he's shown Taehyung in the previous day alone.
Jungkook's parents exchange a look. "We've already booked a–"
Jungkook sighs, and drops his chopsticks onto the plate. The ceramic of the plate clinks when the chopsticks hit it, and Jungkook pushes his chair backwards with his body weight.
He speaks politely, but Taehyung can tell that he's angry. "Eomma. Appa. Didn't you for once consider asking me first?"
His parents try to reason with him, throwing in some good old emotional blackmailing, and Jungkook eventually has no choice.
"Fine. I'll go just this one time, but I'm not going to pretend to be interested in her. Okay?" Jungkook says.
Taehyung feels really awkward standing there, witnessing things that should be kept within the family.
"But, I need him to accompany me." Jungkook says, tilting his head towards Taehyung. "I'm not spending another minute with her alone."
Taehyung is losing count of how many times Jungkook makes his heart leap out of his chest.
"But he..." Jungkook's mother looks at Taehyung and then back at Jungkook. "He can't accompany you on a date, Jungkook."
"He has a name." Jungkook says. "And he absolutely can, we're friends now."
"We are?" Taehyung asks, because when did that happen?
Jungkook glares at him, and Taehyung immediately shuts up. Jungkook then wipes his mouth with a napkin, then gracefully gets up, smoothening out the lapels of his suit.
He starts walking away without another word, and only stops to turn around and stare at Taehyung, quirking a brow when the latter doesn't move.
Taehyung gets the hint, and hurries behind him as he mutters an apology which he isn't sure Jungkook even hears.
When they're completely out of the dining area, Taehyung finally catches up to Jungkook, and they walk in silence for a bit.
They reach the door of Jungkook's bedroom when it happens.
Jungkook suddenly grabs Taehyung's wrist, and stops him in his tracks.
"Yes, your highness?" Taehyung asks, twisting his wrist in Jungkook's gentle hold as his heart beats very fast in his chest. "Is...is something the matter?"
Jungkook frowns and pouts a little then, bringing up Taehyung's wrist and pressing it to his chest. "Is that what I asked you to call me, hmm? Nobody else is here."
Taehyung almost loses his mind from the touch and because he just doesn't understand what Jungkook wants.
"Sorry." Taehyung says. "J-Jungkook-ssi."
"Too formal." Jungkook shakes his head in disapproval. "Just Jungkook."
"You always call me Taehyung-ssi."
"Do you want me to call you hyung instead, then, hmm? Drop all the formalities?"
"Why are you doing this, your highness?" Taehyung asks, genuinely curious. "I don't understand... You have Miyeol.. I don't want to third wheel on your date."
"Oh, please!" Jungkook rolls his eyes. "If anyone's going to third wheel, it's her."
Taehyung can feel his heartbeat skyrocket at the words, as Jungkook stares into his eyes. "What...what is that supposed to mean?"
"Well, let's just say you're the one I'm taking out on the date." Jungkook says. "Pretty sure my eyes are going to be on you the entire time anyway."
"You're the prince." Taehyung tries to free his hand, but doesn't put in much effort. "I'm just a normal guy...this is not...please understand what I'm trying to say."
"Oh, I understand it all too well." Jungkook suddenly comes closer, and his breath fans over Taehyung's ear.
"If the king and queen find out, I'm done for." Taehyung says, sweating buckets. "Please don't."
"I'm an alpha, you're an omega." Jungkook says. "You've caught my eye, and those are already solid reasons. I'm going to look at you all I want. I'm free to at least look, aren't I?"
Taehyung bites on his lips, the words sending chills down his spine. He looks around, worried that someone might see them. "Please..."
"Come on." Jungkook breathes against Taehyung's jaw. He's dangerously close. "You know you want me, too."
Taehyung gulps. He just wants to change the topic. "They want you to get engaged to someone else."
Jungkook smirks, taking in the omega's sweet scent. "That's their problem, then."
Taehyung is completely out of words now, so he just gives up and sighs. "Can I go now, please?"
Jungkook lets go of his wrist then, gently, but immediately plants his palm on the wall beside Taehyung's face, almost caging him in.
"Oh wait! One more thing." Jungkook whispers, the voice sending shivers down Taehyung's spine.
Taehyung clears his throat, shocked that he hasn't collapsed yet. "Y-yes?"
Jungkook's scent is driving Taehyung crazy, in an already heart-stopping moment. He wants Jungkook to stop talking because it's making his mind and heart both go haywire.
But a part of him is not at all opposed to the proximity. Jungkook is hot.
Jungkook gets even closer, until his nose almost brushes against Taehyung's cheek. Taehyung holds his breath. Doesn't know how to function.
Then, Jungkook whispers. "Since I'm going to be looking only at you tonight, make sure to dress pretty for me, okay?"
Taehyung closes his eyes, because how is he supposed to answer that? He's still processing the last sentence when Jungkook drops another bomb.
"And if I have your permission." Jungkook says. "May I kiss the blush off your cheeks?"

The words, combined with Jungkook's low voice and how close he is, do it for Taehyung.
He lets out an almost moan that he had been holding in, and his eyes flutter shut because his body is reacting to everything – he can't control his omega.
And the moment the sound escapes his mouth, Jungkook smiles, satisfied.
Actually, he thinks it's rather hot. He gets even closer to Taehyung, and whispers. "Looks like you want me to."
Taehyung's mind is malfunctioning but his body knows that he indeed wants Jungkook to do more than just whisper against his skin.
Still, Taehyung retains some control over his actions. He shakes his head. "Somebody might see us, your highness."
Jungkook looks even more amused at that, his smirk growing.
"Oh. That's the problem?" He says, not even bothering to hide how satisfied he feels. "So the kiss isn't what you're actually against."
Taehyung's eyes go wide again, and he's about to shake his head again.
But Jungkook is sliding his hands down the wall, and right when they're on either side of Taehyung's waist, he asks. "I'm going to grab your waist now, if you don't ask me to stop."
At that, Taehyung just can't take it anymore. He lets out a gasp, and his eyes flutter shut. Jungkook probably takes it as a sign.
'Even if someone sees us." He whispers, his hot breath blazing the skin of Taehyung's jaw. "I'll make sure they keep it to themselves."
And Taehyung wants to beg Jungkook to stop, but the state they're in is too hot for him to even protest. He'd be lying if he says this doesn't turn him on in the best way possible.
Jungkook's breathing gets closer and closer, and Taehyung feels his nose brush his cheek again.
He prepares himself for the kiss that's about to land on his cheek, and his hands automatically fly to Jungkook's shoulder, latching onto them gently.
But instead of a kiss, he feels a soft, low chuckle sound somewhere around his ear.
And then, Jungkook gently glides his hands over Taehyung's wrist, caressing the inner sides of them with his thumbs.
He brings his face in front of Taehyung again, and whispers. "How adorable."
Taehyung snaps his eyes open, as the void of the expected kiss sets in. He's confused, and it must show on his face because he looks at Jungkook like he was expecting something.
Jungkook just shrugs. "Well, you didn't say yes."
And Taehyung feels a bit of disappointment twist in his chest, and gulps. He slips his wrists out of Jungkook's hold, and looks down again.
He wants to tell Jungkook that he didn't say no either, but he doesn't have the guts to verbalise those feelings.
Jungkook steps backward, smile persistent on his face, as he continues into his bedroom.
"6 o'clock." He says, before he finally shuts the door to his room. "Dress pretty."
Taehyung fidgets with the outfit he has laid out over his thighs as he contemplates if he should really dress pretty.
He can't disobey the prince, but what if it makes him think that Taehyung is interested in him? Which he is, but he can't let it show.
Sighing, he picks up his phone to text Jimin, unable to hold it in any longer.
– Jimin, you won't believe what happened.
He's about to press send, but then, he thinks about it again.
This is the crown prince he's about to speak about to his best friend. Should he reveal so much? What if the prince finds out? Hurriedly, Taehyung presses backspace repeatedly.
He stands up, walks to the mirror, and holds the shirt up with the hanger still in close to his chest. It's one of his favorite, most expensive pieces in his closet.
A cream colored shirt with wide collars. It would look amazing with black dress pants.
It's five thirty already, and Jungkook may arrive anytime. Taehyung takes a quick shower and puts on the outfit, the pants enhancing how small his waist is.
He blushes for a moment when he thinks of what Jungkook would think.
Taehyung is nervous, and paces back and forth in his room until Jungkook arrives.
His tantalizing words resound in Taehyung's head. How he said it's Taehyung he's taking out on a date. The flirting. Asking permission to kiss him. Taehyung feels hot.
His heart feels like it's going to jump out of his chest at any given moment now. He thinks about what he's going to do.
What would Miyeol think? Taehyung is very worried about how Jungkook would treat him in front of her.
What if Jungkook is only using him as a device to get rid of Miyeol? There's no way to know.
If it's true, Taehyung would be really upset. But then again, right now, there's no other option than to listen to Jungkook. It's what he gets paid for, after all.
There's a loud knock on the door, and Taehyung is startled. He sighs out in relief when he realises it's just the door, and puts a hand over his chest.
He walks to the door and opens it. He's expecting the head maid or butler.
It's neither of them. Standing there, dressed in a different striped black suit, is Jungkook himself.
Taehyung feels his cheeks flush as Jungkook shamelessly eyes him up and down, eyes stopping only when they're back up, looking into Taehyung's own eyes.
"I'm... I'm ready. Your highness." Taehyung says, unable to maintain eye contact.
"You look nice." Jungkook says with a small jut of his chin. "How am I going to even pretend to look at her?"
Taehyung gulps, doesn't answer the question. Instead, he asks. "Are we supposed to leave now?"
Jungkook nods, eyes never leaving Taehyung. "I'm afraid so. But if you ask me, I'd rather step inside, lock the door, and then, we'll see about the rest.
Taehyung looks up at that. He doesn't know what kind of game the prince is playing. It's scaring and exciting him at the same time.
"It's okay though." Jungkook says, as he starts to step away. "I'll make up for it in the car."
Taehyung, who starts to follow him, almost trips as he hears the words, but he guesses this is just how the prince is. Maybe he just likes teasing him. So, he keeps walking.
But when Jungkook holds the car door open for him, his heart jumps in his chest.
He's surprised to see that Jungkook doesn't take a driver with him. Taehyung sits in the passenger seat and Jungkook settles down beside him, taking control of the car.
He rolls the windows up, and turns on the air conditioning.
Then, Jungkook turns on some soft, really romantic music, and starts the engine. When he drives for around a minute, he turns towards Taehyung.
Taehyung gulps when he can make it out in his peripheral vision.
"Is the temperature okay?" Jungkook asks, voice gentle and tone serious. "And the song? Do you like it?"
Taehyung nods, clasping his hands together in his lap. "Yes, they're okay, your–"
Jungkook clicks his tongue, and cuts Taehyung off.
"No. Just Jungkook." He says. "Call me Jungkook. I want to hear you call me that all the time."
Taehyung sinks into the seat just to anchor himself. "It feels strange."
Jungkook smiles. "How am I going to take you out on a date if you keep calling me 'your highness' instead of my name?"
"It's not our date." Taehyung says, after gathering a lot of courage. "It's yours, and Miyeol's."
"Oh, shut up." Jungkook chuckles. "I'm probably never going to see her again. I don't know why my parents keep setting me up with people I have no interest in."
"Shouldn't you tell her that?" Taehyung asks.
"I never led her on in the first place. My parents, though, whole other story." Jungkook explains. "And little do they know, I have my eyes set on another omega."
Taehyung refuses to look at him, because every word Jungkook says gets harder to process than the last.
Jungkook then stretches a hand out towards Taehyung, and keeps his palm open in front of him, as if expecting something.
"Wh-what?" Taehyung asks, looking at the hand and then at Jungkook. "What am I supposed to do with this?"
"Take my hand." Jungkook simply says.
Taehyung's heart is beating really fast in his chest, but he knows there's no other way out. Hesitantly, he slowly reaches his own hand out too.
He glides his fingers over Jungkook's palm slowly, as if he's walking on thin ice.
Jungkook tightens his fingers around Taehyung's palm, and holds it up in front of his face.
"Does it seem like Miyeol is the one I'm interested in going on a date with?" He asks, caressing the back of Taehyung's hand with his thumb.
Taehyung obviously can't speak, just stares and tries not to combust in the passenger seat of Jungkook's car.
"You look so good." Jungkook says, lowering their hands onto his thigh. "The pants are pretty around your waist."
"Thank you." Taehyung says, looking out of the window as his cheeks flush hot.
And then, Jungkook looks at him again. "You're blushing again. Should I repeat my question from earlier today? Will you let me kiss you this time?"
Taehyung lets out another gasp and bites on his lower lip, eyes lowering because he feels so shy. The small, closed space of the car isn't helping at all, either.
Then, he manages to answer. "I... don't know."
Jungkook chuckles at that.
He looks at Taehyung. "You're so cute."
Taehyung slowly turns his head to look at Jungkook. "You're... Making me really nervous." He admits.
Jungkook's lips stretch into a smirk. "Yeah, I get that a lot."
"You should focus on...on Miyeol." Taehyung says.
"Oh? Giving me orders again, Taehyung-ssi?" Jungkook asks, gently tugging on their joined hands and pulling it towards himself.
At that, Taehyung is hauled forward towards Jungkook, and their faces are much closer now, all of a sudden.
Taehyung's heart lodges in his throat, and his mouth runs dry at the proximity.
He licks his lips and tries to keep his calm. Wonders what it would feel like to kiss Jungkook when he sees him up close.
"Am I allowed to touch you?" Jungkook asks, and then looks at their joined hands. "In places other than where we're touching right now?"
Taehyung's eyes pop out of their sockets, and he looks at the prince. "Are you messing with me, your highness?"
Jungkook frowns. "First, if you call me that again when it's just us, there will be consequences."
Taehyung is about to have a mental breakdown. "I'm sorry."
"Secondly." Jungkook tells him. "I'm not messing with you. Do I look like I have time to mess around with people?"
Taehyung gulps. "Okay. My bad."
"And I overheard your conversation with your friend. Sounds like we're on the same page." Jungkook says then. It's why he doesn't hesitate to pursue Taehyung. Jungkook knows.
But still, Jungkook speaks again.
"You can say no, if you want to. I won't push. Don't worry." He tells Taehyung. "And it won't affect your job either. So please be honest with me, and with yourself."
Taehyung sighs, resigning. It's not like Jungkook is wrong. His heart rattling against his chest seems to drown out the soft music too. How is he so weak when he's attracted to someone?
Just one day with the prince and he's breaking down Taehyung's walls already.
"Okay." Taehyung says, and laughs at himself in his mind. Maybe there were no fucking walls to begin with.
Jungkook smiles, turning his attention back on the road. "Just okay? Aw. Say the whole thing out loud."
Taehyung takes in a deep breath, can't believe he's doing this, or that this is actually happening. He can't trust the prince yet, but a part of Taehyung refuses to let him ask Jungkook to stop this whole game, or whatever it is. His omega wants this too.
So, Taehyung says it.
"You can...." Taehyung bites his lips before he says the rest of it. "Touch me. In other...other places. Too."
Jungkook lets out a sigh of satisfaction, the smirk never leaving his face. "Okay. And I hope you know that it goes both ways."
[ A/N : Oh no.
What have you done Taetae?
Taehyung looks at his lap, tangling his fingers just to have something to do because he absolutely can't look at Jungkook.
But then, Jungkook teases him again. "What if I forbid you from looking away when I'm talking to you?"
Taehyung immediately turns to look at him, eyes big and nervous, and so, so pretty.
Jungkook pulls up to the side, even though they haven't reached the venue yet. "And...what about the kisses?"
"I don't know, your–" Taehyung stops himself, and tries to say it. "Jungkook."
At that, Jungkook leans back in his seat. "Yeah, just like that."
"Why aren't you driving?" Taehyung asks, looking away again.
Jungkook rests his head on his fist. "You didn't answer me."
"Which question?" Taehyung asks.
Jungkook, with the newly granted permission, brings his hand up and brushes his thumb against Taehyung's lower lip, gently pushing it downwards.
Taehyung feels his heart thud at the touch, every sense in his body tingling. He can't help but stare at Jungkook as he parts his mouth with this thumb.
"About my kisses." Jungkook says, dragging his thumb down as he feels Taehyung's plush lips.
Taehyung huffs out a very nervous laugh. "You're very persistent."
"Extremely." Jungkook says. "But only because I know you want it just as much. You're just not as expressive about it as I am."
As Jungkook says it, he leans in, closer and closer until their noses are almost brushing against each other.
"Taehyung-ssi." Jungkook whispers against his lips. "I haven't stopped thinking about you since yesterday. When I first saw you."
"But we just met." Taehyung reasons, more to himself than to Jungkook.
"That's exactly why I want to get to know you better." Jungkook says, and then chuckles. "We're even going on a first date, and everything."
"And you want to start off with kisses?" Taehyung says, tone just slightly teasing.
"If you let me." Jungkook says. "I've been wondering what your lips taste like for hours now."
"It's not even our date." Taehyung begins. "It's –"
Jungkook sighs, and suddenly withdraws to his seat. "Alright, then."
And then, as if on reflex, Taehyung's body angles towards Jungkook and his hand stretches out, fingers curling around Jungkook's wrist. As if he's losing something that's his.
"Wait!" Taehyung says, and only realises it after he does.
Jungkook immediately snaps his head at Taehyung, eyes lidded, and a satisfied expression on his face.
He shrugs Taehyung's hand off his wrist and interlaces their fingers together instead. "See? Don't fight your heart."
Taehyung just looks down at their hands, face pink. And then, Jungkook is pulling their hands into his lap, onto his upper thigh.
"Okay." Jungkook tightens his hold on Taehyung's hand. "Next question for you."
And by now, Taehyung knows it's not going to be a normal question.
Jungkook turns his whole body, face and attention to Taehyung, and takes a look at his watch. "Actually, I'm supposed to meet her at 8. So we still have a little under two hours."
"That's...not a question." Taehyung says, uncertain.
Jungkook just observes every corner of Taehyung's face with his huge eyes. "We have some time to spend together. So, my question is, where do you want me to kiss you first?"

Hello, I managed to write a little, so I'll be updating now. Looking forward to your thoughts about this update as I post. Enjoy reading.
And as usual, minors DO NOT read or interact and DO NOT follow me.
Taehyung presses his lips together, and bites on his lower lip just to conceal whatever expression might break through. His heart rate just keeps accelerating.
He shakes his head. "I don't know."
Jungkook frowns. "I'm going to have to decide myself, then."
And then, he leans even closer, and his breath is warm against Taehyung's neck, and makes goosebumps erupt all over his skin.
"What are you doing?" Taehyung asks, voice merely a whisper and eyes almost shutting from the way his omega is reacting to Jungkook's scent and closeness.
"Um." Jungkook looks up and quirks a brow. "Trying to kiss my omega?"
Taehyung gets startled, eyes widening. "Your what? Whose omega?" He chuckles nervously. "But I'm not– I don't think... I'm not your omega."
"Shh." Jungkook cups his cheek. "You will be. Soon."
Jungkook then finally leans in and presses a kiss to Taehyung's neck, leaving him breathless. He then looks back up, and whispers. "When these kisses turns into a mark on your neck."
Taehyung almost curses, but he stops himself in time. He can still feel Jungkook's lips on his neck, and his hands fly up to where he received the kiss.
Taehyung feels warmth form between his legs as he tries to control his breathing. He is nervous, and it must show on his face.
"My heart is beating so fast." He says.
"Aw." Jungkook tilts his head. "I'll be your alpha too, won't I? Protect you. Take care of you."
"You're a prince." Taehyung bites his lip, brows downturned. "I'm a commoner."
"Wrong." Jungkook corrects him. "A commoner who is the most beautiful omega I've set my eyes on."
"We should really go now." Taehyung reminds him. "Miyeol must be waiting."
Jungkook rolls his eyes. Slides his hand around Taehyung's jaw and brushes his thumb over the skin. "Come here, let me give you another kiss first."
Taehyung is nervous, but finds that he really wants it. He leans forward, as if his body is on auto–pilot.
"What if your parents find out?" Taehyung asks, eyes shutting when Jungkook comes close.
"Then they deal with it." Jungkook says in a low voice.
Taehyung's brows shoot up at that. "They're going to be so mad at me."
And then, as Jungkook's lips get closer to his skin, Taehyung's eyes shut again.
Jungkook presses a kiss to his jaw. "I'm going to handle it."
"What if you lose interest in me by then?" Taehyung blurts out, and immediately regrets it.
Jungkook smiles against his skin. "Are you scared of me losing interest in you?"
Taehyung bites his tongue. "No, that's not..."
"We're only getting started." Jungkook moves back to face Taehyung. "But I think I'm going to like you even more as time goes by."
"And what if you don't?" Taehyung asks.
Jungkook sighs. "Didn't I already tell you you're going to be my omega?"
"How can I be sure?"
Jungkook snaps his head towards Taehyung. "You're just going to have to trust me."
[ A/N : How is the update going so far? Please let me know via the QRTs! I hope you're liking it so far!
And it gets even more interesting after this! ]
Around fifteen minutes later, they arrive at the site of the supposed 'date'.
Jungkook looks extremely bored, and Taehyung hopes he changes his facial expression soon. He wonders if Miyeol will know, or if she'll smell Jungkook on him.
Interlocking his trembling fingers together, he follows Jungkook inside.
In one far corner of the room, he spots a pretty woman sitting, sipping on some wine, nails blood red and long around the glass. And indeed, it's her that Jungkook walks up to.
Her scent is sweet – so sweet that Taehyung can't stand it. But he tries to keep a straight face, nevertheless.
"Hi." Jungkook greets Miyeol, who is already seated comfortably and brushing back her hair with her fingers.
Jungkook gently grabs Taehyung by the sleeve of his shirt then, and nudges him to the side so that Miyeol can see him.
She had been smiling at first, but her eyes widen a little when she spots Taehyung coming out from behind Jungkook.
"This is Taehyung-ssi." Jungkook simply says, as he draws out a chair for him.
Miyeol's eyes widen further when she sees Jungkook do what he hasn't even done for her yet.
Taehyung thinks he wants to be anywhere but here, when he sees the expression on Miyeol's face. "Uhh, I'm his personal help."
Miyeol stares. First at Taehyung and then at Jungkook, and back.
"And he brought you along on a date?" Miyeon looks to Jungkook, a very fake smile plastered across her face.
"Consider him my friend." Jungkook says, and places a gentle hand on the small of Taehyung's back. Another touch.
Taehyung sits, and only then does Jungkook take his own seat as well. Miyeol looks at the whole interaction, confused, but soon she gets back on track.
"You look very handsome today." She compliments Jungkook, leaning forward in her seat.
"Thank you." Jungkook says, and smiles. "Shall we order now?"
Taehyung is shocked that Jungkook doesn't ask her to drop the formalities. Doesn't even compliment her back. He must be serious about not leading her on.
Miyeol looks a little bewildered at that, brows furrowing together. She looks at Taehyung once, and Taehyung sees something ugly in her eyes.
His fingers tighten over each other. And somehow, Jungkook must sense it. He's an alpha, after all.
He immediately looks at Taehyung, eyes searching his face, and asks. "Is everything okay?"
Taehyung nods. "I think you should order now, your highness."
He obviously doesn't call Jungkook by his name in front of Miyeol, and he shyly looks up to meet Jungkook's eye after he addresses him formally.
Jungkook looks a little annoyed, but doesn't say anything. Just takes longer to tear his eyes away from Taehyung towards the menu.
Jungkook orders, and then Miyeol tries to strike up a conversation. Jungkook answers everything, but doesn't ask questions. His lack of interest is painfully obvious.
The total opposite of what Taehyung has witnessed in the past day.
Jungkook made sure Taehyung sits right by his side, and Miyeol keeps throwing glances Taehyung's way. It must be awkward for her. It sure as hell is for him.
But then, it just gets worse. As Taehyung drinks some water, he suddenly feels pointy heels riding up his ankles.
He looks up in front of him, and Miyeol is eyeing Jungkook seductively. Jungkook, oblivious of it, is stealing glances at Taehyung.
Taehyung feels so embarrassed, and wonders how to stop it, when the shoe suddenly slides up to his thigh.
He almost chokes on the water he's drinking, and sets the glass down on the table abruptly.
"That's...my leg." Taehyung says, clearing his throat, absolutely discomfited.
That's how Miyeol finds out that she got the wrong leg, and she doesn't make eye contact with Taehyung anymore, both their faces red.
Jungkook has another unreadable expression on his face, suddenly distracted.
Taehyung feels a foot against his leg again, but this time, it's a bulky leather shoe, and it's pulling Taehyung's leg towards itself possessively.
Taehyung coughs again, and grabs his glass of water because he doesn't know what else to do.
Miyeol looks up, confused again. "What is with you?"
"I think he has sensitive feet, like we just found out." Jungkook answers instead, and Taehyung almost chokes on his water.
Miyeol excuses herself then, probably out of embarrassment or maybe to plot her next move. And then, Taehyung is left alone at the table with Jungkook.
His heart rate accelerates, and he doesn't even know what to expect next.
Jungkook turns his body towards Taehyung, and this time, Taehyung feels a hand slide over the inside of his thigh.
Jungkook leans in, way too close now that Miyeol's not here, and squeezes Taehyung's thigh gently. "I have your permission now, remember?"
Taehyung panics, swiveling his head around to check if Miyeol is back. He swats on Jungkook's hand.
"Please, Jungkook!" The name feels easier to say now that he's worried about other things. "She's going to see us!"
Jungkook looks down first, a little surprised and suppressing a laugh. He's amused, to say the least.
He removes his hand then, biting back a huge smile. "Did you just hit the crown prince, Taehyung-ssi?"
Taehyung sighs, because he's about to have a mental breakdown. He just doesn't know how to deal with Jungkook without going absolutely insane.
He hangs his head, squeezes his eyes shut, and says. "I'm going to cry."
And immediately, something shifts. Taehyung feels something shift in the air, he can sense that Jungkook's scent intensifies a little.
And sure enough, when he looks at Jungkook, his eyes are turning red. Taehyung's own eyes widen too, wondering if he's angered the alpha.
"I'm sorry. I overstepped my boundaries, didn't I?" Taehyung asks, scared, expecting Jungkook to lash out at him any moment now.
But to his utter shock, Jungkook shakes his head. "No, don't be. I'm sorry."
"What?" Taehyung asks. Because, what?
And then, unexpectedly, Jungkook gently holds Taehyung's hand in his own, brings it up, and presses a kiss to its back. "I teased the pretty omega a lot, didn't I?"
"No, I just–" Taehyung begins, cheeks flushed and hot, but is unable to continue because Jungkook is suddenly looking at him so fondly.
"Don't cry." Jungkook instructs him. "Okay? Because then, it's going to upset me too."
Taehyung blinks, brows furrowed in confusion. "What are you saying?"
"I don't want to see tears on that pretty face. Am I clear?" Jungkook says, and he sounds so serious, that Taehyung feels compelled to nod.
"Now sit here patiently until I try and get us out of this place." Jungkook says.
"Already?" Taehyung asks. "But why? What about her?"
"Hmm." Jungkook says. "Let's just say, I'd rather spend all this time with you."
Taehyung's face goes red, and he looks away. "But I'm already always available at the palace."
Jungkook shakes his head. "I want to go back in my car, and take you on a drive. Wouldn't you like that?"
And Taehyung can't bring himself to lie. He nods. "I would."
Jungkook smiles, as Miyeol comes back out and approaches them.
She's only trying to sit back down with a forced smile, when Jungkook stands up. "Miyeol, you're lovely and I hope you had a great time so far."
"What?" Miyeol smiles, confused.
"I just don't like you in that way." Jungkook says. "I don't want to lead you on. I hope you find the person you're looking for."
Taehyung looks at him, shocked. He wonders how Jungkook just said all of that so easily. He could never.
He feels bad for Miyeol, because she looks even more mortified and seems even more humiliated than she did a moment ago.
Taehyung looks down, not wanting to see Miyeol's face because it's getting so awkward here.
The next thing he knows is Jungkook calling for him, and he just stands up, bows to Miyeol without looking at her, and follows Jungkook outside.
"What do you want to do?" Jungkook asks, hands in his pockets, as they walk back to his car.
"Anything you want to do is fine." Taehyung says.
"I want to do a lot of things that you wouldn't be fine with here in the open."
Heat rises in Taehyung's cheeks. "Are we going back in the car?"
"Aw." Jungkook says. "That eager, huh?"
Taehyung looks at him, head shaking in protest.
"Relax, I'm kidding." Jungkook says, and slips one hand out of his pocket to intertwine his fingers with Taehyung's.
Taehyung looks down at their hands, whole body tingling from the sensation. "If someone sees us–"
Jungkook clicks his tongue. "You're one annoying, overthinking omega."
Taehyung frowns. "But you're still so keen on getting to know me better."
Jungkook smiles. Taehyung hasn't even tried to remove his hand, not even a bit. "Looks like you don't mind, actually."
Taehyung doesn't deny it, because Jungkook is right. He doesn't mind how giddy he feels inside right now, and how warm Jungkook's palm is against his own.
Jungkook leads them to his car, and then suddenly stops in front of Taehyung, facing him.
"Tell me what I should do." Jungkook suddenly asks, eyes locking onto Taehyung's.
"About my heart. About my alpha, too." Jungkook says.
Taehyung's own heart beats in his chest. "What...what about them?"
"Can't stop thinking about you." Jungkook crosses his arm, as he leans against his car. "Didn't have to be so beautiful."
"Oh." Taehyung says. "Sorry for the face I had no control over, I guess."
Jungkook chuckles. "Hey."
"I like you." Jungkook says, eyes fixed on Taehyung.
"Thank you." Taehyung dumbly says, because his brain is malfunctioning at the verbal manifestation of the prince's actions so far.
"Go out with me." Jungkook says.
"I am." Taehyung says. "Out. With you."
Jungkook tilts his head further, and his smile grows.
"A proper date. No Miyeol." Jungkook says. "Just you and me."
"But–" Taehyung begins to voice his fears, but his words are cut off as Jungkook leans in and presses a slow, lingering kiss to the corner of his lips.
"They won't find out." Jungkook whispers against Taehyung's mouth. "Can you trust me?"
Taehyung just stares, still nervous. But eventually, he nods.
"And when they do, it'll be because I'll tell them myself." Jungkook talks against the shell of Taehyung's ear. "That is, if you end up being my...you know. Mate."
Taehyung's throat runs dry at the word. "Mate? Me?"
Jungkook nods. "Yes. Will you go out on a date with me and let me get to know you better?"
Taehyung nods. He can't fight his heart.
Jungkook smiles, satisfied, and presses another kiss, this time to Taehyung's cheek.
And then, he slides his hands around Taehyung's waist and whispers something that makes heat pool in Taehyung's stomach instantly.
"Oh, am I allowed to visit your room yet?" Jungkook asks. "When do I get to watch you touch yourself?"
[ A/N : Let me know your thoughts.
Good night, hope you enjoyed reading! Writing today distracted me a little from whatever had upset me, I hope it made you happy too! Stay safe and take care! ]
Hello, going to update this now! As usual, minors DO NOT read or interact and DO NOT follow me. And please don't lie about your age just to read 18+ stuff.
The rest of you, I hope you like today's update! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
"Aren't you going to let it go?"
Jungkook shakes his head. "Do I look like I am?"
Taehyung sighs. "Why?"
"Say, you enjoy the date." Jungkook begins. "We become a thing. Maybe you fall for me. Wouldn't you want me to see you like that?"
Taehyung's cheeks turn crimson as he averts his eyes. "If. At all. We date. And I start liking you."
Jungkook smiles and tilts his head, hooking his thumb under Taehyung's chin to turn his face back towards himself.
Taehyung gulps at the touch, and tries to look into Jungkook's eyes.
Jungkook then looks into his eyes too, and says. "Are we going to ignore the fact that I heard you talking on the phone to your friend and telling him what you think of me?"
"You're annoying." Taehyung says, and then realises what he just said. His eyes go wide. "I meant me. I'm annoying. Aren't I? Haha."
Jungkook chuckles, lets it slide.
Then, he whispers really close to Taehyung's lips. "Very annoying. You keep delaying my kisses."
"I did let you kiss me." Taehyung says.
"Let me do it again, then." Jungkook says, just a little whiny as he leans closer, hands caging Taehyung from both sides against the car.
Taehyung looks to both sides, nervous. "What if someone sees us–"
As the words leave his mouth, Jungkook presses a very soft, tender kiss to Taehyung's temple. "You smell so good."
Taehyung's heartbeat increases exponentially at that, not at all expecting him to kiss him there. It opens a very dangerous door in his heart. "Oh..."
"Can I hold you?" Jungkook whispers against the shell of his ears then. "You look so cuddly."
And Taehyung is really confused, because Jungkook is acting like he cares. He gulps, but decides to give Jungkook what he's asking for anyway.
Slowly, hesitatingly, he wraps his arms around Jungkook's shoulders, and pulls him in as slowly as possible. He's suddenly engulfed in Jungkook's rich, earthy scent, and it's like his insides come alive at once.
Jungkook is surprised when Taehyung does it, too.
He immediately wraps his arms around Taehyung's waist, and loves how snugly it fits into his arms. They're the same height, so he conveniently hooks his chin onto Taehyung's shoulder.
"Nice belt you've got there." He whispers into Taehyung's ears, tightening his arms.
"Oh my God." Taehyung whispers to himself.
He bites back a smile too, because Jungkook is ridiculously good with his words. He is driving him crazy and Taehyung doesn't know how to keep going with a steady breath.
"Can't believe I'm hugging you in the middle of the street and risking my job and probably my life." Taehyung says, heart beating fast because of nerves and because of Jungkook.
Jungkook nuzzles his nose into Taehyung's neck. "How dare you?"
"Wh-what?" Taehyung asks, and his heartbeat picks up as he wonders if he said something wrong.
Jungkook tightens his arms around Taehyung's waist. "When I already said I like you and asked you out, how dare you think I wouldn't do everything I can to protect you?"
Taehyung feels his heart turn into mush, but his mind questions if Jungkook is just sugarcoating his words. If he's just lusting after Taehyung. "You mean it, right?"
Jungkook sighs once more, tracing shapes on Taehyung's waist. "How do I prove it to you? Tell me."
At Jungkook's willingness to convince him, Taehyung relaxes a little. And then, he decides to change the topic. "By the way, you keep pestering me about kisses, but you...umm. You haven't kissed me on the lips yet."
Jungkook smiles against his neck. "Do you want me to? Already?"
"You're not....messing with me, right?" Taehyung asks, expecting Jungkook to snap. "Sorry. I'm just... I'm scared."
Jungkook sighs. Doesn't snap this time. "No. I'm not messing with you. I'm a hundred percent serious about wanting to get to know you."
"Okay." Taehyung says, and gently rests his chin on Jungkook's shoulders too. "I'm going to trust you."
"I'm going to kiss you on the lips." Jungkook says. "After you're convinced that my intentions are genuine, and when you ask for it."
"Relax a little around me." Jungkook whispers then. "You don't always have to remember that I'm a prince."
"Okay." Jungkook says, and pulls back. "Are you hungry?"
Taehyung nods. "A little."
Jungkook then spots, and leads Taehyung towards a vendor selling corn dogs, and he looks at Taehyung with huge, excited eyes. "Do you want some?"
Taehyung looks at the corn dogs, a little surprised. "Are you even allowed to eat these?"
Jungkook gives him a look. "What do you mean allowed? These are corn dogs, not poison sent by an enemy nation or something."
"Sorry..." Taehyung apologizes, but Jungkook is already buying a bunch of them, making his payment and tugging Taehyung away towards the car again.
When they reach it, Jungkook prompts Taehyung to hold the corn dogs.
Taehyung does, and then his eyes go comically wide when Jungkook lifts him in his arms, and settles him down on the hood of his car.
Then, he climbs on top of it himself, and sits right next to Taehyung, the sides of their bodies touching.
He grabs one corndog out of the bunch, and instructs Taehyung. "Come on, eat up. Have your fill. If you want more, I'll get us some more."
Taehyung stares at him, shocked, and then says. "There's like twenty corn dogs in here."
Jungkook clears his throat, flustered. It's nothing for him, but Taehyung doesn't have to know that. "I know that. I thought you might be very fond of eating."
"Are you sure you're not talking about yourself here?" Taehyung teases.
Jungkook frowns. "Fine. I am very fond of eating. Is that a problem?"
Taehyung shakes his head. "Not at all, your highness."
Jungkook snaps his head to look at him. "What did you say?"
"Jungkook." Taehyung's smile vanishes. "I said Jungkook."
Then, Jungkook gorges on the corn dogs, and Taehyung is surprised to see him so relaxed as opposed to when he was eating at the palace this morning. It's nice seeing him laid-back.
He turns to Taehyung, and frowns. "Why aren't you eating? Do I have to feed them to you?"
At that, Taehyung immediately bites into the corn dog in his hand without even a second of delay. "Mmh, this is good."
And then, his eyes fall on the large glass box across the street, full of stuffed toys and plushies, and his excitement shows on his face.
Jungkook follows his eyes and looks where he's looking, and spots the object of Taehyung's interest.
He turns to look at Taehyung, and asks. "Oh, I see. Tell me, which one do you want?"
Taehyung looks at him, surprised. "You really don't have to!"
"Only answer as much as you're asked." Jungkook clicks his tongue.
Taehyung walks closer to the box, and examines all the options. "The red heart shaped one with a face on it. And the pink bunny."
Jungkook chuckles, amused, and pushes Taehyung aside. "Make way for me."
Taehyung looks at him, annoyed, but excited to see if he can fetch the toys he wants. Jungkook hands over his corn dogs to Taehyung, and rubs his palms together to warm up.
He places his hands on the controls, and focuses his eyes onto the metal claws hanging above the heap of toys. He tries his best to grip the heart plushie, but it slips.
"Fuck. That was so close." He curses. "Maybe I need some energy. Feed me a corndog."
Taehyung turns to look at him. "What? Why me?"
"Isn't that your job?" Jungkook asks, eyes focused on the claws again. "To listen to what I say?"
Taehyung huffs, and extends his hand out to feed it to Jungkook, who readily takes a bite.
On his second try, it slips again. Jungkook gets frustrated.
Taehyung tries his best not to laugh.
"Maybe corn dogs aren't cutting it." Jungkook says, sounding completely serious. "Maybe I need a kiss."
Taehyung feels stronger palpitations in his chest with every second that passes. He looks all around them, and when he makes sure the streets are mostly empty, he quickly gives Jungkook a peck on the cheeks.
That alone burns his lips. "That's all you get. Don't ask for more."
Jungkook bites back a smile, basking in the kiss. "I'm going to need you to do that again."
"Whatever, one was enough to power me up." Jungkook replies. "Watch me."
And sure enough, he picks up the exact two plushies Taehyung wanted in quick succession, not failing or faltering even once. It's almost like he pretended to be bad at it.
And then, it hits Taehyung. He gasps. "You dropped the toys at first on purpose!"
Jungkook chuckles out loud, the corners of his eyes crinkling, and lies. "No, absolutely not!"
Taehyung snatches the plushies from Jungkook's hands, and holds them close to his chest possessively. "Give me those."
"Of course." Jungkook says. "They are for you, after all."
"Thank you." Taehyung slightly smiles them, but it gets hidden when he dips his face into the plushies. "Nice to meet you, Tata and Cooky."
Jungkook stares at him, puzzled. "Who and who?"
Taehyung looks back up, brows knit together. "Those are their names."
"And why do you get to decide when I was the one who got them?"
"But you got them for me!"
"Fine, give me a kiss then, and I'll let it slide."
"Oh my God, this guy is unbelievable."
There's the sound of thunder then, and the sky lights up in patches. Out of nowhere, it starts to drizzle and they hurry back towards Jungkook's car, their little banter forgotten.
Jungkook makes sure Taehyung sits comfortably before he gets into the driver's seat.
The drive back is mostly silent, but comfortable. Taehyung sits in the passenger seat, clutching Cooky and Tata in his arms.
Jungkook drives, eyes on the road, but glancing at Taehyung every now and then. The rain never stops. Not once.
"Um, I kind of had fun." Taehyung says a few minutes in, breaking the silence. Means it.
"I'm glad." Is all Jungkook says. There's a content smile on his face, and they don't say anything for the rest of the ride.
Jungkook pulls up when they reach the palace, and it's well past his parents' bedtime. He knows they aren't going to ask anything, but will want to know how it went with Miyeol when they wake up.
He gets out, walks around the car, and holds the door open for Taehyung.
Taehyung stares at him with the plushies clutched to his chest. "This feels so wrong. You're the prince and you're holding the door open for me."
Jungkook rolls his eyes. "Would you mind me doing this if I were your alpha?"
Taehyung steps out, blushing. He doesn't meet Jungkook's eyes. "But you aren't..."
"Yet." Jungkook teases. "Believe me when I say I will be, very soon."
"Will your parents ask me questions?" Taehyung asks, dodging the topic and following Jungkook's steps as he heads inside.
Jungkook shakes his head. "Not if you stand by my side when we meet them. I'll handle everything. Don't worry."
They walk without making much noise, through the corridors and never ending pathways inside the palace. They reach Jungkook's bedroom door, and both of them stop.
"So..." Taehyung begins, itching to go back to his bedroom and scream. "Good night."
"Hm, are you going to bed right away?" Jungkook asks, leaning against his door, and Taehyung tries his hardest not to look when he brushes back his slightly wet hair.
"I guess." Taehyung nods. "I have to get up early and bring you breakfast, too."
"You can be my breakfast." Jungkook says, shamelessly.
Taehyung looks around, panicking, and whispers. "Stop, please! Someone is going to hear you."
"I don't really care." Jungkook smiles.
"I'm leaving! Good night, see you tomorrow!"
Taehyung turns on his heels and is about to walk away, when Jungkook catches hold of his wrist, and stops him in his tracks.
"Wait." Jungkook says, voice soft and low, and his hold gentle against Taehyung's skin. "Can you stay back in my room with me tonight?"

The rest of you, I hope you like today's update and I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
Taehyung's skin blazes where Jungkook touches it, and he looks around, as if on instinct – he doesn't want to be caught.
"Stay?" He asks Jungkook, hesitant. "Why?"
Jungkook shrugs, gently brushing the pad of his thumb across the inner surface of Taehyung's wrist.
"I don't know." He says, eyes piercing Taehyung's soul. "Just feel like it. Maybe I could use a friend tonight."
"You should decide first." Taehyung teases, although he's still nervous. "What you actually want me to be."
"Why can't you be all of those things?" Jungkook smirks, and gently tugs on his hand. "Stay. Please?"
Taehyung bites on his lower lip, looks around one more time, and sighs. He takes one step forward. "Fine."
And the moment the word leaves his mouth, he's being pulled forward, and the force makes him fall right into Jungkook's arms, chests colliding.
"Fuck!" Taehyung curses, but realises that he's being held gently, and nobody hurt themselves.
Jungkook uses his free hand to lock the door, and with their faces so close together, he whispers with a smile. "Hi there. You smell amazing tonight."
"M-my scent?" Taehyung stutters. "It's only because we're– you're an alpha. I'm an omega. Maybe that's why."
Jungkook frowns. "Um, no? I just like yours. Why do you find it so hard to believe that I'm attracted to you? In more ways than one."
"Sorry." Taehyung mutters, eyes shying away from meeting Jungkook's.
"Want to make you mine so bad." Jungkook nuzzles his nose against Taehyung's cheeks, and whispers in his ear. "Want to be yours."
And if Taehyung is being honest, he loves how Jungkook feels pressed up against him and how his voice sounds whispered into his ear.
His hands automatically wrap around Jungkook's shoulders, and his eyes shut at the words. He can't really bring himself to talk.
He's only revelling in the warmth of Jungkook's body and the scorching heat of his words, when there's a sudden, loud knock on the door.
Taehyung flings himself backwards, apart from Jungkook, and his hands fly to his mouth, eyes wide.
"Oh no!" He whispers, eyes looking like they'll pop out of his skull at any moment now. "They're going to throw me out. I'm going to be fired."
Jungkook just grabs his wrist, unbothered, and pulls him to one side of the door. Then, he asks. "Who is it at this hour?"
Jungkook looks extremely annoyed after their moment has been disrupted, as he awaits an answer.
"Son?" The king speaks from the other end of the door, sounding a little nervous, which surprises Taehyung. "How did it go with Miyeol?"
Jungkook rolls his eyes, and sighs. He unlocks the door and starts to pull it open, and Taehyung stares from where he's standing behind the door.
He wants to ask what the fuck he's doing, but he has no other option than to stand still and not make a single noise.
"I told her that I'm not interested." Jungkook simply says. "Politely, of course. I'm not going to see her again."
And as Jungkook says the words, his thumb caresses the skin of Taehyung's wrist. Taehyung bites down on his lip to stop himself from gasping.
"Ah. But you see–" Taehyung hears the queen speak this time. "We invited their family to the party."
"What party?" Jungkook asks, sounding a little annoyed.
"Just a small gathering." The king says.
Jungkook sighs. "I'm sick and tired of these so called small gatherings."
"Be nice to her, regardless." The queen says. "And please, please at least settle on one person to marry."
Jungkook stays quiet for a moment, and then speaks. "I'll let you know when it's the right time."
As he says the words, his fingers gently travel down Taehyung's wrist, until he interlaces their fingers together. It sends tingles through Taehyung's entire body.
"Can I go back to sleep, now?" Jungkook asks his parents. "You should sleep too. It's late."
It seems like they agree, because then Jungkook is shutting the door, and locking it again. When he's done, he tugs on Taehyung's hand again.
"Sorry for the interruption." He pulls Taehyung back close to himself, and wraps his other arm around his waist. "Where were we?"
"It seems like they really want Miyeol and you to get along." Taehyung says, fingers fiddling nervously with Jungkook's collar. "They won't like it if they find out about us."
"Us." Jungkook smiles. "Doesn't it sound wonderful? Us. You and me."
"And what if there's no possibility of us?" Taehyung asks, looking straight at Jungkook through thick lashes.
"Do you want there to be a possibility of us?" Jungkook asks right back, without hesitation. "Be honest. Come on."
And Taehyung once again curses the time he decided to talk to Jimin so loudly, putting him on speaker. Hates how Jungkook knows it already.
Hates how he can't deny it himself. Still, Taehyung wants to stay on the safe side. "Maybe."
Jungkook narrows his eyes at him. "I said be honest."
Taehyung sighs. "Fine. Yeah. Why would I not? You're hot, a prince, such a smooth talker, your scent is amazing, why would I not want you?"
Jungkook's smile grows, as he leans in, nuzzling into Taehyung's neck this time. "I'm also a software engineer. Many people find that attractive, but you missed that."
"You're making me really nervous." Taehyung squeezes his eyes shut, fingers digging into Jungkook's shoulder.
"So, you want me?" Jungkook teases, lips grazing Taehyung's ears, and arms tightening around his waist.
"Sh-shouldn't you get changed?" Taehyung asks.
"Sure, do you want to take my clothes off for me?"
"Okay, yes." Taehyung sighs. He's breathless. "Yes. I want you."
Jungkook chuckles. "Do you hate taking my clothes off that much?"
Taehyung just stays silent, cheeks burning hot.
"Okay, I'm sorry." Jungkook says. "I didn't mean to make you nervous."
He cups Taehyung's face in his hands, and turns his face towards himself.
"Do you want to watch a movie?" Jungkook asks, eyes searching Taehyung's face, and he sounds a little nervous. "With me? I have a huge collection."
Taehyung looks into his eyes. "Here?"
"Yeah." Jungkook says. "On my bed. Do you mind?"
"What movie?" Taehyung asks.
[ A/N : Movie suggestions in the quotes quick!!
Also, what do you think of this update so far?
"Whatever you want." Jungkook whispers, his own eyes shutting as he takes in Taehyung's scent. It really, really does something to his alpha. Jungkook's been feeling it since the moment they met.
"I'm very indecisive." Taehyung says. "I'm fine with whatever you choose."
Jungkook is about to speak, when Taehyung starts to talk again. "There's this movie I've been wanting to watch for a while. It's on Netflix, I think."
"Sure, I have Netlfix!" Jungkook perks up. "What movie is it?"
"It's called the tale of the Gakwon-do mansion." Taehyung says. "It's a horror movie. If you're fine with it."
Jungkook's smile falters for a second, but then he chuckles. "Of c-course. I'm totally fine. With it. With the horror movie. Haha."
Taehyung smiles, and Jungkook's heart melts seeing him genuinely happy. They're still pressed up against each other, and it suddenly hits Taehyung. He immediately blushes, and tries to get out of Jungkook's hold.
"Should I get you some snacks from the kitchen?" He asks Jungkook.
Jungkook shakes his head, letting go of Taehyung's waist. "I have a whole cupboard full of snacks in my movie room."
"You have a movie room?!" Taehyung asks.
"Yeah. We can watch there too, if you want." Jungkook says, pointing to a door near his cupboard.
"I'd prefer the bed, though." Jungkook says.
Jungkook is silent for a bit, but then he shoves his hands in his pockets, licks his lips and clears his throat.
"The movie room has separate chairs." Jungkook says.
Taehyung prefers the bed too, in that case, and his cheeks are tinted red at the thought. He doesn't show it, though. "Okay. The bed. If you insist, I mean."
Jungkook knowingly smiles. "Sure. Wait here, okay? I'll get some snacks and you can use the remote to turn on the TV."
Taehyung does as he's told, switching to Netflix on Jungkook's giant smart TV. He takes a look at the sound system fixed on either side of it, and is in complete awe of it.
Jungkook returns just a minute later, hands full of packed food.
He hands two of the packs over to Taehyung. "Here. For you."
Taehyung stares at the ridiculous amount of packs still in his arms. "Who's going to eat all that?"
"Me, that's who." Jungkook frowns. "You got a problem?"
"I want more snacks." Taehyung frowns too.
Jungkook smirks. "Only if you promise to be my snack."
Taehyung can't help the smile that takes over his lips. "Can we start the movie already?"
"Did you just try to order me around?" Jungkook asks, smiling.
Taehyung sighs. "Why are you like this?"
Taehyung then quickly searches for the movie and plays it. They settle down in the center of Jungkook's bed, and Taehyung is astonished to see him push all the food to his side in favor of sitting close to him.
The movie starts off fine, and they start to eat.
But five minutes in, there's the first jumpscare, and Taehyung feels Jungkook jolt behind him.
Worried, he looks around, to find Jungkook stuffing chips into his mouth, eyes wide in horror. "What the fuck was that?"
It's so funny that Taehyung has to stifle a laugh. "Are you scared, your highness?"
Jungkook frowns, and leans forward to stuff some chips into Taehyung's mouth. "I. Am not scared. Okay? I just think this movie–"
There's a screeching sound next, and Jungkook gets a jumpscare again, spilling some of his chips onto the bed. "What the fuck is this movie? Th-they can't just do that."
"That's the whole point of this genre!" Taehyung says. "If you're afraid–"
"I'm not–" Jungkook begins, but changes course of his words midway, a smirk forming on his lips. "Finished. Yet. I'm very scared, yes."
Taehyung stares at him in confusion. Jungkook grabs his wrist, and pulls him towards himself again. "So, I need you to hold me."
Taehyung chuckles. "You don't let one chance slide, do you?"
"Are you going to hold me, or no?" Jungkook asks. "Protecting me is your job."
"I'm not your bodyguard!" Taehyung chuckles again.
"Shh, let me hold you." He wraps his arms around Taehyung's waist. "I'll feel better."
Taehyung lets him. He even leans back into the touch, and lets Jungkook gently leave kisses across his neck.
And then, there's another jumpscare, and Jungkook curses into Taehyung's neck. His voice is soft, so gentle. "Fuck, turn it off please, hyung."
The term builds warmth in Taehyung's chest as well as his stomach. "Let's watch something else."
"Yes, please." Jungkook says, pressing a kiss to his shoulder. "Can we watch something sexy?"
Jungkook smiles against his skin. "Like that thing you promised me?"
"I never promised it!" Taehyung says, eyes going wide in horror.
"Wouldn't you, though?" Jungkook teases. "Never. I mean, I'd say we're progressing at a good pace."
"Jungkook..." Taehyung whines. "Please."
"Jungkook please what?" He asks, pulling Taehyung in even closer.
"Stop!" Taehyung gently swats his hand away. "Stop teasing me!"
Jungkook smiles into his skin, eyes shooting upwards towards the wall. "Sorry. I'm kidding. I just wanted your company tonight."
And they talk. Taehyung finds out that Jungkook likes animals, enjoys boxing, and that his tattoos each have a story behind them. He learns that Jungkook doesn't have too many friends, because most people only want something from him.
In a way, he feels bad for Jungkook, too.
In return, Taehyung opens up too, telling Jungkook about his degree and how he's looking for a job. Tells him where he grew up, and what his favorite colors are.
Tells Jungkook that he likes lying down under the clear sky and just staring at it.
"Me too." Jungkook says, arms still holding Taehyung close to himself. "Want to do it sometime with you."
Taehyung smiles, tingles all over his body. "Sure. I'd like that."
Their conversation keeps flowing, and Taehyung loses track of time. Also loses a part of himself in Jungkook's eyes.
Until he catches a glimpse of the huge clock on Jungkook's wall, and sees what time it is.
"Shit!" Taehyung practically jumps out of the bed and of Jungkook's hold. "It's two am! I need to go to bed!"
Jungkook sighs, but he doesn't push any further. "Okay. Do you want me to walk you to your room?"
Taehyung laughs, like Jungkook just said something ridiculous. "You, the prince, will walk me to my room?"
Jungkook rolls his eyes, getting off his bed and heading towards his wardrobe. "About that party."
"Yeah?" Taehyung asks, nervous because Jungkook is so unpredictable. So random.
Jungkook pulls out a very expensive looking shirt, and walks back to where Taehyung is standing. "Wear this."
Taehyung's eyes go wide. "That's yours! It must be so expensive. I can't."
Jungkook holds his wrists together to make him stop talking. "It's going to look good on you. Wear it."
Taehyung takes it, hesitating. It feels wrong to even touch the piece of clothing. "Why do you want me to wear it?"
"Just want to see you in my clothes." Jungkook looks at him with dark eyes, shrugging. "Before I slowly take them off of you afterwards."

Taehyung's eyes immediately fall down to the shirt in his hands, unable to look at Jungkook anymore. "I should... probably go."
Jungkook lets out a huge sigh. "Honestly, I don't even want to let you go."
Taehyung bites on his lips, heart melting when Jungkook's huge, doe eyes drill holes into his own. "But it's very late already."
"So what?" Jungkook drawls, voice lazy. "The thoughts I've been having about you are better suited to this time, anyway."
"I'm going!" Taehyung says, biting back a huge smile and trying not to feel giddy.
Jungkook smiles, leaning against the door, crossing his arms. The muscles flex, and Taehyung tries hard not to stare. "Can't wait to see you in my clothes tomorrow."
"Good night, your–" Taehyung begins, but then corrects himself. "Uhh. J-Jungkook."
"Good night." Jungkook says, eyes trained on Taehyung's face. "Please go before I pull you back inside."
Taehyung has a thought, then – and he hesitates at first. But he thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent with the prince, and has aslo liked him since the moment they met.
So, despite the hesitation, he steps forward.
Taehyung then cups Jungkook's face with one hand, and leans in.
And then, he presses a soft kiss to Jungkook's cheek, and feels the way it stretches against his lips when Jungkook smiles. "Good night, your highness."
Jungkook grabs his wrist, and wraps an arm around his waist. "Told you to leave before I change my mind."
And then, he gently presses his lips to the base of his neck, eliciting a gasp out of the omega.
"I should really go now." Taehyung says.
"Will I see you tomorrow?" Jungkook whispers in his ears. "Here? After the party?"
Taehyung nods. "We-we could hang out, sure."
Jungkook chuckles as he kisses him on the shoulder, and then lets go of him. "Good night, hyung."
Jungkook is very tired as he drives back to the palace from work. His parents had insisted he take a day off today.
Jungkook had insisted that he'd rather not. He wouldn't want work to pile up.
A party is the last thing he wants right now, but the thoughts of seeing Taehyung all dressed up act as an incentive.
He drives faster, wants to reach the palace as soon as possible.
When he reaches the palace, he quickly walks inside, hoping to bump into Taehyung.
But all he sees are domestic workers scurrying from one end of the enormous hall to the other. No signs of Taehyung.
Jungkook clears his throat, tossing in a question. "Where's Taehyung?"
All of the helpers just stop, and give him their full attention. Jungkook just commands it without even asking.
One of them finally speaks, sounding a little nervous. "Your highness, he said he's getting ready."
Jungkook feels his heart skip a beat. He checks his watch, and there's just half an hour to go for the party. He clears his throat again. "I'd like to see him. Where is his room?"
"I'll show you, your highness." One of the maids comes forward. "Please come with me."
Jungkook nods, and follows.
"His is that one, on the far left." She points to a door when they reach the quarters where all the helpers live.
Jungkook nods, and starts walking, but stops when he realises that she's still walking with him.
"Are you going to follow me into his room?" Jungkook asks, hands in his pockets and eyes fixed on her.
The maid nervously shakes her head before she bows. "I'm sorry, your highness. I'll be going."
When she's gone, Jungkook heads towards Taehyung's room, and stops when he's at the door.
He lets out a breath, and gently knocks on the door.
Taehyung, who is currently trying to dry his hair, rolls his eyes. "Now which one of you is knocking when I already said do not disturb me when I'm getting dressed?"
Jungkook bites back a smile.
He looks around to make sure nobody hears him before he says it, gentle as ever. "Hyung...?"
Taehyung drops his comb. He whispers, but it's rushed and loud. "Fuck, Jung– your highness?"
"Relax, it's just me. Nobody else." Jungkook assures him. "Come on, let me in."
Taehyung's eyes go wide at the other end of the door. His room is a mess, his hair is a mess, his heart is definitely a mess right now. "I– I can't."
"Why not?" Jungkook whines this time. "I want to see you."
"But you will see me."
"Now. I want to see you now."
Taehyung sighs, dragging his hand across the surface of the door. "Don't you have to get dressed too?"
It's Jungkook's turn to sigh, feeling a little disappointed. He hasn't seen Taehyung all day, and really wants to, but he isn't going to push. "Yeah, alright. I'll get going."
Taehyung heaves a sigh of relief. "Okay. I'll see you outside in a bit, then?"
But there's no answer – Jungkook's already left.
And Taehyung immediately feels guilty. Maybe even a little worried, wondering if Jungkook is mad at him.
When it's time for the party and the guests start to arrive, Jungkook is called for by his parents.
Reluctantly, and with his mood already a little sour, he walks down the stairs, mentally preparing himself for an evening of talking to people he doesn't really care about.
And when he takes a look at the people who have arrived, he has to resist the urge to roll his eyes.
He already spots Miyeol, and other omegas with their parents – all probably waiting for a chance with him. Jungkook knows, because it happens often.
"Son!" The king exclaims before Jungkook even completely descends down the stairs. "Come here, meet the Baek family!"
Jungkook puts on a practiced smile, and against his wishes, listens to the king.
He listens, and responds when necessary. Nods, smiles, and pretends to be interested in the conversation.
Somehow, he convinces them that he is. Jungkook is good at this, just like he is at most things he does.
The process has to be repeated a few times as Jungkook is made to talk to people new and old. He's done this so many times before, but can never get used to how much he hates it.
And as if it isn't enough torture, he sees Miyeol and her parents walking towards them.
"Prince Jungkook!" Her father greets, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Miyeol refuses to tell me how the last meeting with you went. Why don't yoy elaborate?"
Jungkook's parents exchange looks, awkward smiles on their faces.
But Jungkook is unfazed, doesn't even have too many fucks to give. Just smiles.
He tilts his head at Miyeol, and then looks back at her father. "I'd rather not. It wasn't anything memorable."
He can tell that Miyeol is probably murdering him in her mind from the absolutely fake smile she offers.
"Oh, isn't he funny?" She fake laughs. "We had fun hanging out. But I think I'm really busy these days–"
"Will you excuse me for a moment?" Jungkook says, cutting her off, and leaves.
There's so many omegas in here, and all their scents are getting too overwhelming for him. Especially when he's yearning for a very specific one.
But even then, he constantly keeps being bothered by omegas who 'accidentally' happen to just spot him, and try to chat him up.
Jungkook doesn't want to be rude, especially when it's at a party his family threw, so he politely talks to them despite knowing each of their motives.
And it begins to drain his energy.
What's worse is that he hasn't seen Taehyung yet. His heart feels so restless. The mixture of scents also makes him a little dizzy.
And then, Jungkook feels like he's imagining it, because Taehyung's scent seems to cut through all of the others.
It stuns him, because this isn't supposed to happen.
The vast majority of the population have to choose their own mates. Some don't mind it, like the freedom. While others like the idea of a pre-decided mate.
Jungkook – he hadn't really cared about it. But right now, he does.
Because there are always a lucky few, who have pre-destined mates.
And this – only being able to smell your mate even in a crowd full of others of their rank, happens to be one of the biggest giveaways. And by now, Jungkook knows for sure that it's Taehyung's scent.
He zones out of the conversation, only Taehyung's scent and the implication behind this scenario on his mind now.
His heart is pounding, but also filling with warmth and excitement at the idea. What are the odds?
[ A/N : How is it going so far? I hope nobody saw the mate thing coming in this update.
Let me know your thoughts via the QRTs! I'll be right back in a few minutes.
Jungkook's heart is beating so fast, and he's barely able to hold it in right now – he hadn't expected to be one of the few lucky ones.
He follows the scent, and looks in the direction he thinks it's coming from. And of course, there he is. Their eyes meet.
Standing inconspicuously behind pillars and curtains, is Taehyung.
But even if nobody else can see him, Jungkook does. Very clearly. His heart lodges in his throat at how beautiful Taehyung looks.
Jungkook's shirt is a little loose on him, and it's almost like he left the first few buttons open to torture Jungkook – his collarbones are out.
Clenched at the waist with his well fitted pants, the shirt looks so good on him.
Taehyung looks just like royalty. He would fit in with all these elite people. And even if he doesn't, Jungkook doesn't really care.
All he cares about is all these meters and people between them right now.
He can't get out a single word. Can't even smile. The other omegas keep talking, but Jungkook only has eyes for Taehyung. He can't even smile – just stands there in awe. In disbelief. It's surreal.
Everything is, right now.
But Taehyung must take his expression for something else, because he frowns, nervous.
Thinks Jungkook must still be mad at him. Looks at all the other omegas around him, and feels his chest twist in jealousy. Doesn't even admit it to himself, though.
He suddenly feels horrible and overwhelmed, and takes a few steps backward.
Maybe Jungkook doesn't even want to see him right now, from the way he's blankly looking at him from across the hall right now.
And of course, he's got so many better options throwing themselves at him right now.
Silly, silly Taehyung, for thinking that this could really amount to something. For thinking that he could actually hold the prince's affection. He feels his heart drop.
He really wishes he could, though. He takes in Jungkook's appearance, and lets out a sigh. He looks every bit a prince in his white, frilly shirt and black suit jacket.
Taehyung feels stupid standing here, wearing his shirt – doesn't even want to be seen by anyone else anymore.
So he retreats, taking slow steps backwards.
And as Jungkook watches him walking away, he frowns in confusion. His whole body urges him to move forward and to do something – to stop him.
But there's these women and men in front of him who keep trying to talk to him. More come and join, and it gets harder for Jungkook to break out of this mini crowd.
He easily could, but he's sure he's going to say something that wouldn't sound very polite.
That is, until he notices a group of alphas curiously eyeing him.
It's not a surprise, because Taehyung looks stunning. But Jungkook feels the urge to walk up to them and ask them to back off.
He still stays put, but then he overhears one of them.
"I'm going to talk to him and see if he agrees to go on a date." One of them says. "Why have we never seen him before?"
And that is Jungkook's last straw. The text he receives from Taehyung only adds fuel to the fire.
– You're obviously busy with your good friends, and there's a few alphas smiling at me dumbly, so I'm just going to go and get changed into my uniform like the rest of the helpers.
Then, he notices the alpha planning to ask Taehyung out on a date hopefully move towards where Taehyung was – but Taehyung isn't there anymore.
"Excuse me." He cuts the others off. "Nice talk, but I've got something important to do, so."
Taehyung isn't really in the mood to talk to anyone right now, so he makes sure he hides himself well before the eager alpha is able to find him.
He doesn't care, when the alpha he actually wants is so busy with other people.
He walks down the empty corridors – what with everyone else down in the hall taking care of or attending the party.
He sighs, his heart feeling really heavy. He peeks once to see if Jungkook has moved, but he's still saying something to his little group of stupid omegas.
Instead, there's the other alpha who seems to be looking for him, and Taehyung groans and rolls his eyes in annoyance. He does not need this now.
He spots an open door a few meters away, so he tries to get there before he's seen.
But before Taehyung can cross over, he feels someone grip his wrist and pull him the opposite direction.
Caught off guard, Taehyung's body yields to the force and he lets himself be dragged before it registers and he is about to throw hands.
But suddenly everything goes dark, because he's in a room where there are no lights.
He doesn't even know how to react, and then, he's being pinned to a wall, wrists on either side of his head.
But Taehyung's body relaxes, because he recognises the gentle touches, the scent. The sound of his voice.
"Baby." Jungkook whispers against his ear, breath hot. "Are you mad at me?"

Taehyung is torn between breathing heavily and frowning. He manages a whine regardless.
"I thought..." He begins, voice merely a whisper. "I thought you were mad at me because I didn't...let you in."
"Me?" Jungkook asks, eyes a little wider and hand tightening around Taehyung's waist. "Mad at you?"
Taehyung looks on, chest heaving up and down, and then, Jungkook comes even closer and whispers. "That can never happen."
Taehyung rolls his eyes, a weak laugh escaping his lips. "You're so cheesy."
"What?" Jungkook feigns being offended. "I mean it, okay?"
"Are we going to keep standing like this?"
"Or." Jungkook begins, and looks up.
Taehyung knows he's going to say something extreme again, and starts to anticipate it.
"Or?" He asks.
Jungkook looks back at him. "Or. You can just let me into your room now that you're not busy getting dressed anymore."
Taehyung's lips twitch, as he lightly slaps Jungkook's chest, and immediately regrets taking the liberty to do so. "Oh, oh no. S-sorry. I just–"
"Shh, it's okay." Jungkook says. "How can we become boyfriends if I don't let you act like one?"
Taehyung's cheeks turn red, and he's worried Jungkook will notice even in the dim light. "Okay. You can come to my room."
"Are you sure?" Jungkook smiles. "I mean, I don't want you regretting it later."
Taehyung just nods, fingers fiddling with Jungkook's shirt. "I'm sure. W-why would I regret it? What do you have planned?"
Jungkook huffs. "Find out yourself." He takes a step back, and extends a hand. "After you."
Taehyung shyly takes a few steps forward, and looks over his shoulder to make sure Jungkook is following. "This way."
"I know." Jungkook teases. "I tried going there earlier, but someone brutally turned me down."
Taehyung just suppresses his giggles and continues walking, Jungkook following close by.
Jungkook's presence behind him is so palpable that Taehyung feels like he's going to wrap his arms around him anytime.
And when they reach the door of Taehyung's room, Taehyung looks around to make sure nobody sees them even accidentally.
"Hurry up." Jungkook whines, as Taehyung unlocks the door. "I want to see your room."
Taehyung's fingers suddenly stop. "You have high expectations, it seems. Let me warn you, my room is very messy."
"It's fine." Jungkook dismisses it off. "As long as it's your mess."
Taehyung unlocks the door then, and pushes it open. He steps in first, turning around to welcome Jungkook.
As soon as Jungkook steps it, he's greeted with Taehyung's scent, but ten times the normal amount.
"Oh wow." Jungkook says. "Your room smells amazing."
Taehyung nervously chuckles. "It just smells like me."
"Exactly." He says.
Jungkook starts to look around, and takes in every little detail. The shirts scattered over the bed, the mess of cables on his nightstand, and the perfume bottles on his dresser.
Jungkook walks up to it, picks one up, and says. "You don't even need these, just saying."
"Now that's a little too much." Taehyung smiles, as he carefully locks his door from inside.
At that, Jungkook turns around fully, crosses his arms and leans against the wall. "Ooo, locking the door now, are we? What do you have in mind, hmm?"
"Oh I don't have anything in mind." Taehyung answers. "But knowing you, I think closed doors are the way to go."
"Damn right they are." Jungkook starts to walk towards him. "Come here."
Taehyung feels shy, but gives in. He takes slow steps until he's in front of the mirror. "What do you think of my room?"
Jungkook walks up behind him, digs his nose into Taehyung's neck, and wraps his arms around his waist. "Mhm, I like it. It's very you."
Taehyung chuckles, even though Jungkook is making him nervous. "The mess is very me?"
"Who was bothering you back there?" Jungkook asks out of the blue, tracing a line along Taehyung's shoulder with his nose, as if taking in his scent. "I saw someone try to hit on you."
"Oh did you?" Taehyung teases this time. "Were you jealous?"
"Yeah, obviously." Jungkook looks up at him through the mirror, and Taehyung's smile vanishes. "What did they smell like?"
"Hmm." Taehyung says, trying to remember, and then chuckles. "Wait, it's kind of funny. Even with that stupid alpha and his alpha friends around, you know what was the most prominent scent? Yours."
Jungkook's lips stretch in a smile against the skin of Taehyung's shoulder.
"And why is that?" Jungkook asks. "Why do you think my scent is prominent even in a crowd of alphas?"
Taehyung looks at him like he's said something stupid. "What? What do you m–" And then, his smile suddenly drops. "Oh. Oh? Oh."
"Is it because...." Taehyung looks into Jungkook's eyes through the mirror, almost panicking. "Because you're– we... we're–"
"Easy there." Jungkook presses a kiss to Taehyung's cheeks, and then makes eye contact through the mirror again. "Are you unhappy about it?"
"No!" Taehyung is quick to respond, but then sinks back down into Jungkook's arms. "It's just that... It's so rare for anyone to have a... A mate. And me? I never thought– People who have mates are special."
Jungkook frowns at that. "Well, you are special, too. I think so."
"So... Did you also find my scent to overpower everyone else's?" Taehyung asks, careful with his words. "Or is this one sided or something?"
Jungkook rests his chin on Taehyung's shoulder. "Why do you think I asked you in the first place?"
Taehyung chuckles dryly. "Man. What are the odds?"
"Whatever they are, they're in our favor." Jungkook says, pressing another kiss to Taehyung's cheeks.
"Are we going to keep standing here?" Taehyung asks.
"No, we're going to get down to business now." Jungkook replies.
Taehyung's smile disappears again. Head already buzzing with the new piece of information about them being mates, he thinks he can't take this anymore. "W-what business? I didn't mean–"
But Jungkook is already stepping back, walking to his bed and picking up Taehyung's shirts.
He picks up his clothes one by one, and turns around. "Where do I put these?"
Taehyung rushes towards him and tries to take the clothes from his hand. "Your highness, that's not your job. Please, let me–"
Jungkook immediately pulls the clothes to himself. "What did you call me?"
Taehyung's hands fly up to cover his mouth. "Sorry, it just slipped out."
But Jungkook breaks into a laugh again, and puts the clothes into a laundry bin by the bed.
"It's so much fun teasing you."
"The bed is clear now." Jungkook says, and sits down on its edge. He taps the space next to him, and looks at Taehyung. "Grace me by sitting next to me, good sir."
Taehyung bites on his lower lips, and obliges, heat pooling in his stomach.
Jungkook presses into the mattress with his fingers. "Hmm, I can work with this."
Taehyung looks at his hands, and then up at him, eyes wide. "What do you mean?"
But Jungkook doesn't answer. He just fully climbs into bed, and crawls until he's able to rest his head on the pillow. Taehyung stares, until Jungkook stares right back.
"You." Jungkook says to him. "Do you want to lie down next to me?"
And Taehyung wants to. He does want to lie down next to Jungkook and whisper sweet nothings and make love to him. But he's not sure if he'll be able to handle it.
But he doesn't want to say no. He wants to feel Jungkook's warmth around himself again, so he nods.
He crawls until he's near Jungkook, and slowly lies down, shivering as he feels Jungkook's eyes trace his whole body.
He nestles his head into the pillow, and adjusts himself in bed, until they're both on their sides, facing each other. Taehyung doesn't know what to expect.
Jungkook's eyes then shift to his neck. "So I guess, we don't need that mating mark anymore."
Taehyung bites his lips, and decides to speak his mind. "You can still mark me. If you want to."
"Oh?" Jungkook's smile grows. "Is the idea of us being mates growing on you?"
"Maybe." Taehyung says.
"I guess we don't have a way out now." Jungkook says. "We have to date now."
Taehyung hides half his face into the pillow. "Go to sleep."
"Sleep?" Jungkook chuckles. "Is that what you think we're going to do?"
Taehyung's smile falters. "No?"
"No." Jungkook says. "I'm alone.with you, in bed, and you think I'm just going to go to sleep?"
Taehyung feels goosebumps erupting on his skin.
"Dim the lights." Jungkook says. "I think darkness goes best with intimacy. Don't you?"
And Taehyung, he's at a loss for words. With trembling fingers, he turns and dims the lamp, anticipation building up inside him.
"What kind of intimacy?" Taehyung asks, trying to be sure.
He feels Jungkook's fingers curl around his wrist and tug, the sweet sound of his whisper following. "Come closer. How am I going to do it if you're so far apart?"
Taehyung scoots closer, until their chests are almost touching. Jungkook's breath is warm on his lips, and his muscular arms are heavy where they now rest on his hips.
"Turn around." Jungkook says, nose brushing against Taehyung's.
And Taehyung's mind goes blank at the words. "T-turn around? Already?"
"And I prefer a comforter." Jungkook kicks around until his legs land on it. "Oh, there it is."
Taehyung's heart beats loudly in his chest as he waits, and Jungkook pulls it over both their bodies.
"Jungkook." Taehyung says the name with much difficulty. What are you trying to do? Is it what I think it is?"
Jungkook's arm snakes around Taehyung's waist, and his palm slides inside Taehyung's shirt, making it hike up.
"Uhh, trying to cuddle you?" He says in response.
Taehyung feels his heart slip back into place, body relaxing with relief. "Oh. Oh, that."
"Can I keep my hands like this?" Jungkook asks. "You're warm."
Taehyung nods. "Yes. Yes you can."
"Thanks." Jungkook kisses his neck. "You thought I was trying to fuck you, didn't you?"
"What? No!" Taehyung fakes a laugh nervously. "No I didn't."
"Yes you did." Jungkook pulls him closer. "And you still went along with it. I'll keep that in mind, hyung."
"Also." Jungkook says. "Be my boyfriend. Now. Please."
The words make Taehyung feel all fuzzy and warm inside. He thinks it would be fun to tease Jungkook. "Well, it's not like I have a choice now."
"Well, I'll step back this instant if you don't want–"
"No!" Taehyung stops him, and pulls on his arm. "I was kidding."
"Okay." Jungkook presses a kiss to his cheek this time. "So, starting this instant, we're boyfriends."
Taehyung nods. "Boyfriends."
"You're my omega." Jungkook hugs him even tighter. "And I'm your alpha. Although technically, now I know, we've always been each other's."
It feels surreal to Taehyung, and he just wants to bask in this feeling. He wishes he could bottle it up and lock it away safely somewhere. It feels amazing.
"I really like you." He says. "You've never treated me like I'm beneath you. You're a prince, and yet–"
"Okay, but I lost my heart to you the moment I saw you." Jungkook says. "Beat that."
"You eavesdropped on my conversation with Jimin–" Taehyung begins.
"Overheard." Jungkook corrects.
"So, you should know that it was the same for me."
"See? We're so meant to be." Jungkook says, turning Taehyung around to face him. "Thank you for agreeing to be with me. I'll treat you the best I can, and I'll take care of you."
Taehyung smiles. "I'll take care of you too, your h– Jungkook."
And then, Jungkook lowers his face, Taehyung's scent intoxicating him more and more as the seconds go by. "Can I kiss you now?"
Taehyung doesn't give him an answer. He pushes himself up, cups Jungkook's face, and closes the distance between their lips.
The kiss is magical.
If Taehyung had been feeling butterflies in his stomach till now, he feels like there's a whole explosion inside him now. Jungkook's lips move against his like they've been doing this for years – like this is what they're meant to do.
And when they break the kiss, Jungkook finishes with a soft tight lipped peck on Taehyung's lips.
"I'm going to sleep here tonight." He whispers. "With you. Is that okay?"
"It won't be a problem, right?" Taehyung asks, still scared.
"Who's going to find out?" Jungkook tries to bite back a smile. "We're not doing anything that would make noise tonight."
"Stop!" Taehyung's face turns red. "Okay. Yeah, of course. You can sleep anywhere you want. But... In the morning...?"
Jungkook presses another gentle kiss to his lips. "I'll sneak out before anyone can see. Don't you worry."
"Okay." Taehyung smiles, feeling content, and turns around in Jungkook's arms.
Jungkook nuzzles his nose in the dip of Taehyung's shoulders. "Good night. I hope you sleep well in my arms. Might want to do this everyday."
Sleep finds them soon. Snuggled up together, bodies pressed against each other, the two fall into a deep sleep.
Probably the deepest sleep either of them has had in a while. It's just so comfortable and so natural.
That is, until Jungkook stirs awake because of a noise.
He looks at Taehyung, who is still fast asleep, and grabs his phone to check the time. It's almost dawn. But Jungkook's eyes fall on the message sitting on his screen, and he clicks on it.
It's a message from Miyeol, and Jungkook's brows draw together as he sees the contents.
It's a picture of him and Taehyung cozying up earlier at the party, followed by a text message. 'Agree to marry me, or this picture will be out for everyone to see.'
[ A/N : I was finally able to update this AU! I hope you enjoyed reading. Please let me know your thoughts via the QRTs!
Thank you for reading, good night! ]
Hi! I will be updating now!
As always, minors DO NOT read or interact and DO NOT follow me!
The rest of you, happy reading! This is the last update, let's see if I can finish it tonight!
Jungkook blinks at the message a few times, scratches the back of his head, and shifts closer to Taehyung on instinct, and that's when his phone vibrates again. Another text.
– I'll give you a month's time. Think about it.
Jungkook is sleepy, but that doesn't stop him from rolling his eyes. She must be waiting with the chat window open – Miyeol reeks of desperation.
Jungkook is amused, because how did she even think she could outsmart him?
Can I see the picture first?
He presses send and waits. Miyeol immediately replies, thinking that Jungkook is only checking if she really has it – which he is, but he also really wants to see it. Jungkook and Taehyung, cosying up.
The picture is dark and grainy, but he can see the two of them.
It was snapped when Jungkook caught Taehyung in the dark, and asked him if he was mad. His lips twitch upwards in a smile, and his heart fills up with warmth. He turns to look at Taehyung, who is fast asleep.
"You're so beautiful." He whispers, and then looks at his phone. "And this one– she's just such a bitch. How dare she sneak up on us when I was enjoying private time with my baby.
He pouts, but he doesn't really care if the picture gets out – would love that, actually.
