National Emblem from Ashoka’s Lion Capital. Navo walo kai alag lage chhe. Maybe the camera angle or maybe we have a new adaptation.

Quite possibly could be design/manufacturing flaw. From original Sarnath & Constitution-Lions’ heads at same level & angle, eyes & jaw rounded. New -heads don’t appear (camera angle?) in line & seem to be at different angles, aggressive eyes & pointed jaw Ashoka - 1 Modern tech - 0
All those who have replied/tagged saying old was pacifist & new is powerful - yawn 🥱 1- I didn’t make any such comparison 2- Now that you have -a Lion is a Lion - majestic powerful hunter killer. Kehte hai ki sote huey sher ko nahi jagana chahiye. Baat karte hai Pacifist ki 😂😂
India’s “pacifist” image is a well cultivated narrative. At appropriate times, we have used hard measures when our interests demanded. Quite like the Lions that rests for long periods & then ferocious in hunting when hungry. We used the pacifist image to our advantage

1947-48 war for Kashmir. Operations for Hyderabad, Junagadh, Goa, splitting Pakistan, intervention in Sri Lanka (notwithstanding its outcome), Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles. Arming Northern Alliance in Afghanistan against Taliban.

Hope they make the Ram Mandir well and worthy, although IMO we are incapable of matching the class of our ancestors. I know many ppl will disagree, but it must be promoted for attracting tourists.
Ancestors had skill, aesthetic sense, imagination, passion. State patronage helped. I don’t think any of what they did can be replicated. We can’t even make furniture that our ppl made just 50-100 yrs ago.
Wonder if the gvt : 1- can set up centres oriented towards learning & skilling our ppl to the level of craftsmen of our ancient architecture 2- undertake projects to create new structures 3- make sure all public buildings reflect on our architectural heritage, blending old & new

Camera angles do make a difference. But IMO it looks different from original Sarnath & what’s in the Constitution. Wonder if there is a scale model?
Those who have argued this is new variant with a more “muscular” look, well you can’t change National Emblem just like that. And as I’ve argued in earlier tweets, a Lion’s nature doesn’t change with its pose and neither has India been pacifist, but used the pacifist image well
