IIT Kanpur has been involved in many projects related to rural empowerment as part of Institute Social responsibility. I along with Divisional Commissioner, Dr. Raj Shekhar inaugurated the Smart Class at Shri Ram Janki Inter College, Bithoor. @Raj Shekhar IAS

Volunteers would be teaching from @IIT Kanpur & children sitting in the smart class can have continuous interaction with teachers. The classroom is set with such a technique that it enables the children to see the teacher(s) and the board through a projector, and vice versa.

To standardize the system, an educational app by Schooglink Pvt Ltd has also been deployed to record the blackboard notes and lectures. This method will help us to enhance our reach and replicability.

Ranjit Singh Rozi Shiksha Kendra (RSK) was built with the generous donation of our beloved alumnus, late Dr. Ranjit Singh (BT/MME/1965), and his wife, Ms. Martha Carreno, and focuses on #education and livelihood for #rural youth.

RSK in association with #UnnatBharatAbhiyan has setup a pilot Smart Class for online rural education. We will be collaborating with Kanpur administration to scale this project in villages of Kanpur.
