There are five Disney Star Wars projects that I feel did the best job of making Star Wars feel new and fresh:
-Rebels
-The Last Jedi
-Resistance
-The Mandalorian Season 1
-Andor
*Honorable mention to Visions, whose entire purpose was a new and fresh take on Star Wars. +
I’m not discounting the other shows and films, or disregarding publishing (I’m not deep enough into those stories to have an opinion), but the ones listed above were most successful at showing that Star Wars still has new tricks up its sleeve.
YES I WILL CONTINUE READING THE HIGH REPUBLIC AT SOME POINT. 
For me, Solo sits just outside that list, because it’s a fun, fresh take on existing characters. I want more stories with them.
Just not if they’re lit like that.
