#ad It’s officially fall. You had an amazing summer and you have the post inflammatory hyperpigmentation to show for it. You’re already planning out your Thanksgiving outfit and you want the skin to match. I’m partnering with @Bolden Skincare for your ultimate skin shopping guide ✨

#ad I heard about Bolden from you guys over 3 years ago! (so much skincare, so little time) I was able to test out some staples and a new addition over the last 8 weeks. I’m so happy to share my experience in hopes you’ll find something for you on your next trip to Wally World
A major pillar in addressing all skincare concerns is hydration and the first hater of hydration is a stripping cleanser that leaves your skin feeling tight after rinsing. Over time this exacerbates dryness and sets you up for irritation especially when paired with other actives.
Consider the @Bolden Skincare Hydrating Cleanser if you have normal to dry skin, are starting a retinoid or if you used too many viral Tik Tok actives and ruined your skin barrier. As a chronically dry princess, I’ve enjoyed this calming and creamy consistency for my 2x a day cleanse.
Maybe you’re happy with your current cleanser (love that for you). Maybe you’re picky over consistency and you hate layering toners + serums but you clearly need SOMETHING to get your skin to the next level. I’ll raise you a lightweight, calming and short-contact hydrating mask:
#ad Consider this if you suffer from breakouts, dryness and early signs of aging. Centella asiatica is one of my favorite ingredients for soothing inflammatory acne and supporting wound healing. If you want to get elite, I recommend using a thin layer underneath an LED panel OR
#ad COLD ROLL sweetie. You can use glass cold globes, stainless steel facial wands or just a piece of ice inside a disinfected zip lock bag. Use the slip of the mask and *lightly* massage affected areas to bring down the temperature of your skin and alleviate inflammation.
#ad The 2nd pillar in treating all skincare concerns is correction. This is where things get tedious. Identifying what type of breakouts + hyperpigmentation you have and what triggers both helps you determine your plan of action and selection of ingredients needed to correct.
#ad Consider the Skin Brightening Toner if you have concerns of enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation and black or white heads. Frequency will vary person to person (I use 2-3x a week). Fellas, I know y’all oily and have ingrowns. I can tell. This is a one stop shop for a lot of you!
#ad Other ways to repurpose this toner are using it under your arms as an alternative to aluminum deodorant AND to manage dandruff on the scalp. Contrary to Tik Tok belief, glycolic acid is suitable for Black skin. It’s an amazing alpha hydroxy acid when not overused and abused.
#ad I don’t consider myself a hypebeast when doing product reviews but it’s hard to be calm about the last 2 products I’m going to talk about. They’ve been amazing additions to my core routine and I can’t stress enough the last pillar of addressing skincare concerns, prevention!
#ad Some causes of hyperpigmentation are pregnancy, acne, meds, ultraviolet radiation and even old cells that have forgotten how to function. These contribute to excessive amounts of melanin produced once melanogenesis is triggered. This is where tyrosinase inhibitors become key.
#ad The *NEW* @Bolden Skincare Dark Spot Fix contains mutiple ingredients that interfere with the formation of pigment which helps foster a more even skin tone and decrease the appearance of new hyperpigmentation: niacinamide + alpha arbutin with kojic, azelaic, and tranexamic acids 🫢🏾
This product is not only corrective but it also has humectants to keep hydration at optimal levels. It’s recommended to incorporate this into your regimen twice a day to manage the formation of new pigment and clearance of old ones. The clarity of my skin has been AMAZING!
Last but absolutely not the least, my favorite. A product category that has seen more scandal than a certain NBA locker room! SUNSCREEN. The preventative cornerstone to any routine but it’s hard to find the one and testing new ones is always fun. However, we’re locked in for now.
#ad You see the dent cause it’s been USED. Consider the Brightening Moisturizer SPF 30 if you have a face and you love to give it nice things. If you want to skip having a separate vitamin c serum. If you want to boost the efficacy of your entire routine and prevent new damage 🫢🏾
#ad Since the start of my online skincare days, I’ve always made sure to highlight Black owned brands with sophisticated formulas and @Bolden Skincare is no exception! They’re now available in Walmart so you can grab your holiday spread and holiday glow in one swoop. #BoldenxWalmart
