Most Nigerians don’t appreciate hip hop or rap music but somehow listen to foreign musicians. I think they do it better or what’s the reason hip hop is not trending in Nigeria?

I mean why’s 9ja rappers and MC’s not many in the industry anymore? Record labels are only looking for that hot banger .. there’s not enough room for songs from the soul anymore, we just want to dance!

This is also limitation on the artist imo. Unfortunately, in the 9ja music industry of today, you have to keep adapting to trends to remain relevant. That’s tiring and it’s making even A-list artists sounding amateur bcus of what? Trend?

Honestly, some labels are trying but there’s just not much done yet. I believe if the same energy put into promotion of Afropop is given to all other genres of music, then we can get a fair share of the industry gains going to several many more talents and music geniuses..
