Introducing Meepo – a smarter search engine for @Superbalist.com (leading South African fashion and homeware store πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦) I have no affiliation with Superbalist. I just thought this was something that needed to exist! Let me explain... meepo.shop

I built Meepo out of frustration with existing search engines For example, I searched "fork" and got 4 results, none of which resemble a fork at all! It turns out, you have to search "cutlery" instead
I don't mean to single out Superbalist – I'm a fan of theirs. This is unfortunately just how most search engines work today On the other hand, here are the first few results with Meepo. So many forks!
Not only can you find forks, you can also use colors, textures, patterns, and more! For example, here is the top search result for "fluffy striped salmon pillow" 🀯🀯🀯
Anyway, please do check it out, and let me know if you have any feedback πŸ˜„
By the way, Meepo is possible thanks to an amazing technique called CLIP, which I recently learned about in @fast.ai's wonderful course Practical Deep Learning for Coders: Part 2 It only requires a few steps to build your own CLIP search engine
Here's the stack powering Meepo: β€’ Deployed on a VPS w/ docker β€’ SQLite + object storage β€’ CLIP + faiss index β€’ Django serving HTML/Tailwind+daisyUI β€’ Cron β€’ Developed in notebooks w/ nbdev I tried to keep it as simple as possible. It now runs seamlessly without my input
