"Why are you still here?" Taehyung asks. He thought he was the only one working late hours, although his reason is to avoid home and his wife. "Oh, Mr. Kim." The man stands up, nervous, his eyes huge. "I... I'm new here and just trying to catch up." #taekookau πŸ”ž [Minors DNI.]

Or, an au where CEO Taehyung is just trying to cope with the stress of an unhappy marriage and an impending divorce by slaving away his hours in his office cabin. One day, he realises that there's someone else in the building too, still working, and it changes his life.
– CEO TH x Office worker JK. – Married TH, trapped in a bad marriage. – Strangers to lovers. – Might be NSFW, minors DO NOT read or interact and DO NOT follow me! πŸ”žπŸ”ž
"Fucking. Hell." Taehyung breathes out, fingers stroking his temples, trying to soothe the pain. It's past eleven thirty, just minutes away from midnight, and he's still working.
He takes a drag of the cigarette and considers going back home for the night, but a second later, he dreads it. He'd rather just sleep in his cabin than go back to another fight, another yelling match with that woman.
Once again, he curses the moment he agreed to marry her. 'This will be great for our business!' His parents had said. Taehyung dryly laughs, and then scoffs at the memory. His company would have succeeded either way.
All he's gained from this marriage is stress. He feels like he's already wasted the entirety of his twenties, and there's absolutely no more hope for romantic love in his life. He just doesn't have it in him anymore, maybe.
But at least he took over the position of the CEO in his late twenties, which is great work wise. At least he's always shone in his work and career – but now, the stress is really getting to him, affecting his efficiency at work as well.
Taehyung is twenty nine now, and has been married for four years. That's four whole years of hell. He can't wait for the divorce – it's just a matter of time.
Taehyung and Eunhee are very different people. Their outlook on life is so different, that it often leads to clashes. There's no understanding, no communication, and no love between them. Taehyung sighs once again, and takes another drag of the cigarette.
Taehyung even suspects that Eunhee has been cheating on him for a while. But he feels nothing. He doesn't feel bothered, or betrayed, or upset. He couldn't care less, honestly. He's just counting down the days until they don't have to be together anymore.
The past few days, staying at home has become unbearable. So, he just stays back at office, working to keep himself busy. He doesn't like this way of life – but he doesn't want to go home to her. The less they speak, the better.
He stretches a little, body aching from sitting in the same position for too long. Taehyung puts out his cigarette and disposes it into the ashtray, and stands up and stretches some more. Maybe he should go down the street and grab some snacks.
He puts his suit jacket back on, because the November air is quite chilly, more so at night. Grabbing his phone, wallet and keys, Taehyung hears out for a brief walk down the block.
But just as he's passing by a row of desks, he notices something unusual. There's some illumination in one corner, some lighting on a particular desk. Taehyung's eyes widen for a moment when he realises – someone is still working.
Taehyung stops in his tracks, a little shocked, and makes his way towards the desk. "Hi?" He says, trying to look at the face of the person. "Why are you still here?"
There's the sound of a chair screeching against the floor, tearing through the silence. The guy stands up, and turns on another light, before he faces Taehyung. The first thing Taehyung notices is how handsome he is.
He hasn't seen this guy around before. It makes Taehyung a little curious. "Oh, Mr. Kim." The man stands up, nervous, his eyes huge. "I... I'm new here and just trying to catch up."
Cute. Very cute. The corners of Taehyung's lips slightly twitch, but he keeps it together and bites the smile back perfectly in favor of a poker face. "What's your name?"
"Jeon Jungkook, sir." He says. His eyes are big and round and glittery, and they impart an innocence to his face that tugs at Taehyung's heart. He looks really stressed and tired, though, and Taehyung feels a little bad.
"Don't work until too late, 'kay?" Taehyung says, and turns on his heel before heading towards the elevator. When the door shuts, Taehyung wonders if there's another reason keeping Jungkook here at this hour.
"Jeon Jungkook." He whispers it out loud, and likes the way the name sounds. He rotates the wedding band around his finger – it seems more like a shackle than a ring at this point, and Taehyung sighs.
Eventually, he is outside, strolling down the street until he reaches the nearest food joint. He usually eats at fine dining restaurants, but the only stores open at this hour are fast food centers. Taehyung enters one that sells ramyeon.
"Hi, one cup of ramyeon and a bottle of soju, please." He says, and patiently waits. But then, on second thought, he calls out the person taking orders once more. "Actually, make that two. Two of each."
Taehyung pays for the food, and heads back to the office immediately. When he's back on his floor, Jungkook is still working, so Taehyung quickly walks up to where he's sitting, and places one cup of ramyeon and one bottle of soju on his table.
Jungkook looks at the food, and then up at Taehyung in surprise that he doesn't mask very well. "Mr. Kim– Sir..." "There should be a glass in the common room somewhere." Taehyung says, already walking away. "Have a good meal, and go home as soon as you're done with work."
Saying that, Taehyung walks away with his own share into his cabin, and shuts the door behind him. But Jungkook sits there, staring at his retreating figure, his heart throbbing loudly in his chest. Did the boss really just do that for him?
And Jungkook had only seen pictures until now, but wow – Kim Taehyung looks even better in person. So handsome that it's almost intimidating. Jungkook sits there, clutching his heart, wondering how to repay Taehyung for his kindness.
And Taehyung is already extremely attractive. But when someone is nice to you, your heart starts to act funny and multiplies the attraction several fold. And Jungkook thinks his heart just did something funny, too.
Jungkook removes the lid of the ramyeon cup, and digs in with the chopsticks that came with it. He didn't realise how hungry he was. As he eats, he wonders if he should go and thank Taehyung – the latter didn't even stand there long enough for Jungkook to do so.
Slurping the noodles quickly, Jungkook keeps the bottle of soju aside and disposes the cup of ramyeon off. And then, he washes his face before he heads towards Taehyung's office.
He's about to knock, when he spots Taehyung through the transparent squares in the otherwise frosted glass door. He's sitting and rubbing his temples, looking extremely sleep deprived and stressed. Jungkook doesn't knock, and his hand slowly comes down to hang by his side.
He feels bad at the sight, so he takes a step back. Maybe now is not the time. Feeling tired and sleepy himself, he heads back to his desk, gathers his stuff, and leaves the office.
It's almost two am by the time Taehyung reaches home. Eunhee is asleep, and he quickly slips into bed in his own, separate room. He has to be up before she wakes up, and that leaves him with only a few hours of sleep. That's how he's been functioning the last few days.
With only three hours of sleep, he wakes up and gets ready in the morning. He's a little late today, and skips breakfast. It's unhealthy, but there's nobody at home he intends to sit and eat his meals with. He's just going to grab a bite outside.
Taehyung feels drowsy even when he drives, and his head feels like it's going to explode. Maybe he should rent out a hotel room, take two days off and sleep the whole time on those days. Maybe he should just move to a new house, actually.
Sighing, he parks his car when he reaches his office. Head throbbing and body fatigued, Taehyung still makes his way upstairs, determined not to compromise on the quality of his work.
He enters his cabin, and shuts the door behind himself before moving towards his table and setting his stuff down on it. And then, he sees it.
Arranged neatly on the table, there's a strip of analgesics, a paper bag that smells like hotteok, and a note. Taehyung pulls it out, and reads. β€˜Thanks for last night. I didn't get a chance to thank you, so please accept this. Take care of your health, too. Fighting!’
This time, since he's alone, Taehyung doesn't bite back the smile. It's so wholesome, that it makes warmth bloom in Taehyung's chest. He stares at the note for a long time, and re-reads it with a smile as he takes a seat – he hadn't smiled properly in so long.
"Hyung, I met the boss when I was working last night." Jungkook tells Hoseok, the only friend he's made till now at office. "He's so handsome. Better than the pictures." Hoseok snorts. "You do know that he's married, right?"
Jungkook is shocked to hear that – of course he didn't know. "Oh my God." He says. He needs to get that note out of his office before Taehyung sees it.
Jungkook stands up without another words, but the door to Taehyung's cabin is locked, which means he's already inside. Jungkook sighs, and sits down. "He's totally going to get the impression that I'm interested in him now."
"Are you?" Hoseok asks. "I was just trying to be nice." Jungkook sighs. "So you aren't interested in him?" "I... didn't say that."
"What did you put in there?" Hoseok asks, a glint in his eyes. "It doesn't matter." Jungkook slumps back in his chair. "He's already seen it. I wasn't trying to show my interest, though. Just... ugh, now I'm going to be anxious. What would he think?"
And so, Jungkook sits there for the next few hours, eyes glued to the computer screen in front of him. But there's this uneasy feeling at the back of his mind constantly. Until Taehyung doesn't give him some sort of a reaction, he's going to be anxious.
It's almost lunch time, and most employees are out of their chairs. The floor seems emptier, and Hoseok nags Jungkook to go grab a bite with him. Jungkook goes, but he doesn't have the appetite.
"I don't feel too well." Jungkook says, voice a little low. "I'm going to head back in." Hoseok whines a little, but agrees. Jungkook is glad, because he can now go into Taehyung's office, and explain why he did that. It was just a way of thanking Taehyung, and nothing else.
He takes the elevator, and when he steps out, he immediately makes a beeline for his desk. He has already set up this tiny mirror on his desk, and he's only going to check if he looks presentable. Because, that's his boss.
But when he reaches his desk, his heart thuds in his chest, and starts to beat really fast. There's a tray of corn dogs and a glass of coke, and a note right beside it, that reads – β€˜Thank you, the hotteok was great. Don't overwork yourself. KTH.’
[ A/N : Good night, that's it for now! I'll continue it if I'm satisfied with the response by the morning. Otherwise, I'll put this up for commission! Thanks for reading. Let me know your thoughts! ]
Updating now! Would like to add that there might be some flirting in this update. Saying this because TH's character is still married; please read at your own discretion! Minors DO NOT read or interact and DO NOT follow me! πŸ”žπŸ”ž The rest of you, happy reading & please interact!
Jungkook bites on his lip, dimples appearing on both his cheeks, accompanied by a faint blush. Taehyung is just being nice – that's all. He's married, after all. Jungkook cannot think of this gesture as anything more than just politeness.
But his fingers tremble and his heart races as he touches the paper tray. He can't help but let whatever he was feeling grow just a little more. He shouldn't be feeling this way about a married man. Jungkook sighs, and thinks about what he should do next.
Should he keep this food exchange going? He doesn't want Taehyung to think that he has the wrong idea. But if he doesn't respond with more food, wouldn't it be rude? Taehyung must have bought him food for a second time for a reason.
Jungkook presses his palms flat against his desk, leaning his weight onto it and sighs, his shoulders slumped. He is in such a fix right now. But there's all these butterflies dancing around his stomach from Taehyung's gesture, and he doesn't think he can control them.
"Hey Jungkookie!" Hoseok chimes from the other end of the room. "I'm back!" Jungkook panics, hurriedly grabbing the note and folding it into half before shoving it into his back pocket.
"I thought you were going to be–" Hoseok says, and then his eyes shift to the food on Jungkook's desk. "When did you get this?" "I-I ordered it." Jungkook lies, hand coming to rest on his hip. "Online?" Hoseok narrows his eyes. "But we were just at the cafeteria." He says.
Jungkook falters, feeling like he's been caught red handed. "Well, I... Umm, I didn't really like any item on the menu there." Hoseok's expression twists a little. "Their best selling item is literally corn dogs, Jungkook. Do you have a secret admirer?" He wiggles his brows.
Jungkook scoffs. "Yeah, right." Then, he rolls his eyes for added effect. "I just have this place I really like, and I wanted to eat their corn dogs specifically? So..." Hoseok seems satisfied with that answer, and doesn't push any further.
The next few hours pass painfully slow. There's so much going on in Jungkook's head. He doesn't want to compromise on the quality of his work, especially since he's new, so he tries really hard to focus. But then, Hoseok mentions their boss, and Jungkook is distracted again.
"...and all his clothes are so expensive. He's easily the most stylish person in this building. But then again, money has a lot to do with it too. Also, he's gorgeous. Did you see him today? He looked stunning...." Jungkook gulps, zoning out everything else.
He bites on his lips anxiously, hands fiddling with the mouse and it's as if he's looking right through the screen instead of at it. He had been planning to stay back late today as well, and he wonders if Taehyung is going to be there too. He feels his heart thud at the thought.
And then, he starts to get a little nervous. What would happen if they meet again at night? Will Taehyung tell him not to get the wrong idea? That would be embarassing. Would he be able to tell that Jungkook has been crushing a little on him? Jungkook sighs.
Should Jungkook stay back at the office? Or should he panic and leave?
But curiousity gets the best of him – he wants to know what buying him food again means to Taehyung. He promises himself that he isn't going to do anything that would be crossing any lines. He's going to keep it professional and polite.
And so, when everyone else starts leaving one by one, Jungkook stays back under the pretext of work. And yes, he does have extra work he wants to finish tonight, but it's not his main reason tonight. He feels something funny inside his chest as he thinks about Taehyung.
An hour passes. Two. Two and a half. Nothing. Taehyung hasn't come out of his office even once, yet. Jungkook checks his watch. It's almost 10 pm. At least the lights in his cabin are turned on, and he's still inside, Jungkook tells himself.
And while he is lost in his thoughts, he hears a doorknob turn. The door is pulled open and shut in quick succession, and then, Jungkook hears footsteps approaching. Taehyung is walking towards him. Jungkook's heart pounds in his chest.
The footsteps slow down gradually as they come nearer and nearer, but Jungkook's heartbeat just keeps going faster and faster. His heart totally freezes in his chest, when he hears the honey deep voice once again. "Jeon?"
Jungkook stands up again, and faces Taehyung, and wow. He really does look stunning today, wearing all black with his hair brushed away from his forehead, just a little messed up from working all day. "Yes, Mr. Kim?" Jungkook replies, voice a little shaky.
"Working late today as well?" Taehyung's face shows no expression, but he turns his body towards Jungkook completely. Jungkook nods. Taehyung hums. He doesn't mention the corn dogs. "Do you smoke, Jeon?" He asks instead.
"No..." Jungkook naturally says. Not even a second later, he adds, fumbling. "B-but I have friends who do, and I've often been in groups where people smoke. So I don't mind accompanying people..when they smoke, I mean. Just, I myself don't. Umm, smoke."
Taehyung nods at that. "I'm going down the block to grab some food and a smoke, probably." Jungkook nods vehemently, as if he's understood Taehyung's words. Then, he just keeps standing there.
Taehyung stands there too, and Jungkook just doesn't know what he should say or do next. Taehyung makes it easier for him, as he tilts his head towards the door, eyes moving to point towards it as well, gesturing Jungkook to follow after him.
Then, he walks out without as much as a smile, and as intimidating it is, Jungkook also thinks it's really hot. When Taehyung is out of sight, Jungkook allows himself a moment to breathe out and collect himself, before he puts on his suit jacket and follows Taehyung out.
Jungkook practically runs, so that he doesn't lose track of Taehyung because there's no way Taehyung is going to wait. But he sees him standing right by the elevator door so that it doesn't shut – waiting for Jungkook. Jungkook really doesn't know what to think of it.
He gets inside, and bows to Taehyung, thanking him. The elevator door shuts, and then there's just the two of them again, but this time in a closed space. Suddenly, Jungkook thinks that wearing his suit jacket before coming here was a bad idea.
He pulls on his collar to loosen it up a little, heat making his skin beneath itch. "So." Taehyung suddenly asks. "Do you like it around here?"
Jungkook nods. "Y-yes, I found some good colleagues today. The work environment is nice." "Hmm." Taehyung hums, throwing his head from side to side. The door opens. "Let's go."
Jungkook follows after him, and Taehyung asks again. "Where did you work before this?" And Jungkook tells him that it was another business firm, and then Taehyung shoots a few more generic questions at him until they reach their destination.
Taehyung asks for a smoke, and lights it up before using his fingers to flick it to a different position, and take a drag. Jungkook watches, in awe, as he blows out the smoke. It looks like a scene right out of a movie. Taehyung is very, very attractive.
"What do you want to eat?" Taehyung asks, blowing out some more smoke. "Not that there's a lot of places open around here at this time, but still." Jungkook feels his heart race again. Taehyung is going to buy him food again?!
It's all very confusing to Jungkook. First, he can't cross any lines because Taehyung is taken. But what is Taehyung trying to do here? He just wants to know. "Mr. Kim– Sir, I..." He begins, nervous. "Why are you buying me food?"
Taehyung distances the cigarette from his mouth, and angles his face to look at Jungkook. His eyes narrow and his brows draw closer together in a frown. "You're the only one still working." Taehyung says, eyeing Jungkook up and down. "Aren't you hungry?"
"R-right!" Jungkook immediately says, feeling stupid. Of course. What was he even thinking? "Yes, I am. I'm very hungry. I actually love eating, I'm not picky, so anything is fine, really. Haha." Taehyung puts his cigarette back to his lips, eyes locked onto Jungkook's. "Okay."
"Although, if you're uncomfortable, you can say so." Taehyung adds. "I don't mind and it's absolutely okay. I'm used to eating by myself, so you can be honest." Jungkook feels a little confused upon hearing that, but he shakes his head. "No, Mr. Kim, I don't mind. Really."
Taehyung nods. "Do you want to eat inside the office?" "Anything is fine, sir." Jungkook says. His only concern is how he's going to keep it together in front of Taehyung while they eat. "Alright then." Taehyung says. "Let's eat inside my cabin."
Jungkook chokes on thin air at that, clearing his throat and coughing out once. The thought of being in another closed space with Taehyung makes him feel hot, even though it's chilly outside. "You said you were okay with smoking." Taehyung says. "Should I put it out?"
And is Taehyung even allowed to be so hot and make Jungkook's crush more and more intense even without trying? "No, I just– I'm okay." Jungkook says. "Okay, Jeon." Taehyung hums. "I'm going to get us some pizza." "Sounds good, sir." Jungkook says. "And, if you don't mind..."
Taehyung turns his face to look at him, raising his brows slightly, as if waiting for Jungkook to continue. "If you don't mind, of course." Jungkook says. "You can call me just Jungkook."
And as soon as the words leave his mouth, Jungkook worries if Taehyung is going to think that he's trying to be too friendly. It's just that Jeon feels way too formal, and while he knows they're just two professionals, he prefers being addressed by his first name, not surname.
But Taehyung's lips twitch upwards, and it's the first time Jungkook sees something close to a smile on his face. Taehyung takes another drag of his cigarette, eyes fixed on Jungkook's. "Why? Is Jeon too formal for you?"
And Jungkook thinks that his neutral expression was probably safer, because he feels like the almost smile is a lot for him to take in. Jungkook can't even look him in the eye, and just looks down, hands in his pockets. "I don't know, Mr. Kim. I just like Jungkook better."
"Alright." Taehyung says. "Jungkook." Jungkook nods, only beginning to relax a little, when Taehyung speaks again. "Jungkook. Hmm, that sounds nice rolling off my tongue."
And this time, Jungkook's sure. Taehyung is flirting with him, but he just doesn't understand why. He looks for the wedding band on his fingers, and it's very much real and very much present there. Jungkook bites his lips nervously.
Taehyung starts to walk, and Jungkook subconsciously follows him, but still doesn't know how to respond to that. Thankfully, Taehyung breaks the silence again. "I'm going to order, give me a moment." He says, and turns around to go inside the little pizza shop.
He comes out a few minutes later with two large boxes in his hands, and just starts to walk towards the office without prompting Jungkook. Jungkook follows, and takes the boxes from his hand. There's minimal conversation as they get back inside.
Taehyung marches over to his office when they're on their floor, and Jungkook wordlessly follows him inside. Taehyung locks the door behind himself, while Jungkook places the boxes on a table. He breathes out, anticipating the next few minutes.
"Sit, Jungkook." Taehyung commands, and his voice is so deep and authoritative that Jungkook immediately nods and finds himself a chair. But Taehyung settles in his own chair, and frowns. "Sit here, opposite to me."
Jungkook stands up, and with a racing heart, obeys. He sits down in the chair across the table from Taehyung, and opens his box of pizza. "This way, I can have a conversation with you." Taehyung says, eyes on Jungkook's. "I like seeing people's faces when I'm talking to them."
And Jungkook, once again, lets his curiosity get the best of him. "Mr. Kim, please forgive me if I'm overstepping." He begins, pressing his lips together. "Why...why are you used to eating alone? I heard that you're married. You can choose to not answer. I'm sorry."
Taehyung pulls a slice of pizza up, and takes a bite out of it. Wordlessly, he chews and chews and then swallows. Then, he looks at Jungkook. "Because I don't like eating with my wife. I haven't liked it for years, now, actually."
Jungkook feels a little shocked upon learning that, and feels really bad for Taehyung. He had no idea. "I'm going to file for divorce, actually." Taehyung adds, then. "I'm tired of being unable to go back to my own home as and when I please. I'm so tired of it all."
And as soon as Jungkook hears the word divorce, his ears perk up. Of course, he feels bad for Taehyung's situation, but it's like he sees some hope. It's like the door has been kept just slightly open – like there's still a chance.
And it explains a lot – Taehyung's flirty tone, even if it lasted two sentences. Him staying back at the office so late. "Is that why you work at these hours?" Jungkook asks.
Taehyung nods. "I go back really late and come back here really early so I don't have to interact with her. It's gotten really bad these days. I actually haven't slept properly in a week." Jungkook's heart breaks for him.
"I don't remember the last time I had a wholesome, home cooked meal." Taehyung nonchalantly says, but Jungkook can tell that there's pain behind those words. Then, Taehyung looks up at him. "If you talk about this to anyone, I'm going to fire you."
Jungkook feels a blush creep up his cheeks, and shakes his head. "Don't worry, Mr. Kim. I'm great at keeping secrets. Also, I'm so sorry that that's happening to you. I hope you get that divorce soon." The corners of Taehyung's lips twitch upwards again. "Oh. Do you, now?*
And this time, Jungkook allows himself a nervous chuckle. "Nobody deserves to stay in an unhappy relationship." Jungkook says. "Even if it's a marriage. You should be able to walk out, and I hope you find your happiness soon."
Taehyung looks at Jungkook, gaze piercing through him. "You're very sweet, thank you." And Jungkook's insides turn all gooey, as he thinks of something a little insane.
He ponders over it as they eat pizza, and maybe it's too much, but he really wants to offer. "Mr. Kim, if it's okay with you, for a few days..." Jungkook begins. "If you're unable to sleep comfortably in your home, y-you can sleep at mine instead."
[ A/N : Good night! Thank you for reading! Please let me know your thoughts! I hope you enjoyed reading this update. ]
Hi, will be updating now! I hope there are readers here for the live updates! πŸ‘€ Minors DO NOT read or interact and DO NOT follow me. πŸ”žπŸ”ž The rest of you, I hope you like this update! Please let me know your thoughts via the QRTs as you read! Let's go!
Taehyung is about to take another bite of the pizza slice, but he stops. He pauses, hand freezing mid-air as it holds the slice, and he looks right into Jungkook's eyes. There's no expression on Taehyung's face, and Jungkook begins to panic.
He doesn't want Taehyung to think that he has some sort of ulterior motive with the offer. He genuinely wants to help in some way because Taehyung looks and seems really stressed, and Jungkook feels bad for him. So, to clear it out, Jungkook starts to talk.
"Only if you're comfortable, I mean. Just– I know you can rent a hotel too, but I just want to help." Jungkook starts to blabber, heart beating loudly. "And I absolutely don't mean it in the wrong way." Taehyung still stares, eyes locked onto Jungkook's face.
"Feel free to say no, I would totally understand." Jungkook adds, sweating buckets underneath his shirt. "And nobody has to know, I promise. Anything you'd comfortable with, sir." Taehyung finally lets out a breath, eyes falling to the pizza slice in his hand.
"Please say something." Jungkook says, his own eyes lowering. "I was just trying to help out. I didn't mean to offend you. I really didn't have any hidden intentions–" "Shh." Taehyung says, setting down his pizza slice on the flap of the box. "How far from here do you live?"
Jungkook looks up, the air seeming to finally rush back into his lungs. "Just... It's twenty minutes away. It's–it's a small apartment. It's close to Hongdae." Taehyung nods. "And are you sure? About this?"
"Yeah..." Jungkook says. "I mean, I was the one who offered it. You've been kind to me, and... And if I could help you out, that would be an honor, Mr. Kim." Taehyung nods. "Okay, then. Thank you, that's very considerate of you."
"O-okay." Jungkook says, looking down and taking a large bite of his pizza, nodding vehemently because it's making him a little giddy. Just the thought of Taehyung being at his place, even though it's for nothing but to be able to sleep, gives him goosebumps.
"How do you get back home?" Taehyung asks, then, making eye contact. "Usually?" Jungkook chews fast, and swallows, so that he can answer. "I just take a cab or bus usually." He shrugs.
"Hmm." Taehyung says. "I'll drive us, then. You tell me the way." "Will do, Mr. Kim." Jungkook fights the smile that threatens to break out on his lips. "Thanks for the meal. And for the corn dogs earlier today, too. I– I really appreciate it."
Taehyung doesn't say anything, but he looks at Jungkook once, and Jungkook thinks he catches a hint of something that might be a smile. He's not sure. Jungkook stuffs his mouth with more pizza, trying to keep his blushing in check. He really hopes Taehyung gets the divorce soon.
It's around twenty minutes later that they leave the office, wrapping work up for the night. Jungkook leaves first, and waits at a spot Taehyung asks him to, and then Taehyung follows a while later so that the guard doesn't see them together and start some kind of rumor.
When Jungkook sees Taehyung approaching, his pulse quickens and he crosses his arms just so he has something to do with his hands. Taehyung walks past him, and gestures to a car in the distance. Jungkook takes the hint, and follows.
He watches Taehyung open the door to a black Audi, and hold it that way until Jungkook walks up to it. It's an expensive car, and Jungkook is very careful as he steps in and settles down. Taehyung shuts the door, walks around the car to get in the driver's seat.
As soon as Taehyung shuts the car door and starts the engine, it hits Jungkook that they're in a closed space again, together, alone. His heartbeat skyrockets, and he nervously fiddles with his fingers in his lap. He looks around the car, impressed.
Taehyung starts driving, and Jungkook sneaks glances at his side profile – which is also perfect like his face at any other angle. Jungkook's breathing turns heavy – Taehyung's presence is quite something. Maybe Taehyung senses that he's nervous, and so, he breaks the silence.
"Music?" He asks. "The aux cord is right there. Play anything you want." Jungkook smiles at that, relaxing a bit. He nods, and plugs the cord into his phone, and plays a song off his playlist.
It sets the mood, soft and romantic, which is worse, because now Jungkook starts to blush even more. Taehyung turns his head to Jungkook. "Are you nervous, for some reason?"
Jungkook squeezes his eyes shut, and then opens them again. "I am, I guess. A little." He nervously chuckles. "You're pretty intimidating to be around." "Yeah?" Taehyung asks, lips twitching slightly upwards. "What about me is intimidating?"
Jungkook covers his mouth with the back of his fist. "For starters, you're my boss." "Your boss, who's going to be sleeping in your bed." Taehyung adds. "Hmm?"
Jungkook has to look out of the window to control the blush that spreads across his face rapidly. "To-to the left from here." Taehyung allows himself a small smile, as he follows Jungkook's directions. In ten more minutes, they reach his apartment.
[ A/N : Enjoying the AU so far? πŸ‘€ ]
Taehyung parks the car, and Jungkook excitedly leads him up the stairs. He keys in the door and unlocks it, pushing it open to step in and allow Taehyung to do the same. Then, Jungkook turns on the lights, and Taehyung is able to see what the apartment looks like.
"It's obviously not the most luxurious apartment and you must be used to luxury but my place is pretty cosy." Jungkook says, smiling. "And homely. And my bed is very comfortable. You'll sleep very well." Taehyung, hands in his pockets, looks around with his tired eyes.
"That's my bedroom." Jungkook says, as Taehyung steps into one of the rooms. Taehyung turns on the light himself, and takes a look – it is extremely different from his bedroom, but it looks lived in and cosy. Taehyung is tempted.
The sheets are all solid neutral colors, and so is most of the decor. Taehyung likes it. But there's just one bed in the entire house, it seems. It could fit two people with some discomfort. There's no spare mattress anywhere in sight either, so he frowns.
"And you're going to sleep...?" Taehyung begins. Jungkook points to the sofa. "That, is my bed for tonight." Taehyung frowns once more. "Jungkook." He says. "I don't want you to sleep on a couch while I sleep comfortably on your bed."
"No, no!" Jungkook immediately shakes his head. "It's fine, this couch is very comfortable. Trust me. Please, Mr. Kim, I brought you here so you could sleep peacefully. Please...please listen to me." Taehyung sighs, and looks down. He nods. "Okay."
"Mr. Kim, you can't sleep in that." Jungkook says, walking past him. "Let me get you something comfortable to wear." Taehyung's heart tells him to follow Jungkook, so he does. And that's how they end up standing in front of Jungkook's closet.
"Here are my t-shirts. If you're okay with wearing them, obviously." Jungkook nervously chuckles as he looks through them. "Pick whatever you like–" "Jungkook." Taehyung curls his fingers around Jungkook's biceps, which makes the latter freeze in place.
"You don't have to do all of this for me, you know." Taehyung says, his low, gentle voice right next to Jungkook's ears. "I-I know. And I'm not doing this for anything in return." Jungkook says.
"I didn't say you were." Taehyung says. "Just that... How do I accept so much from you?" "Please don't worry about it, Mr. Kim." Jungkook shakes it off. "I'm doing it because I intended to help. I really want to do it, trust me. P-please make yourself at home."
Taehyung nods then, and lets Jungkook continue looking for clothes for him. But he doesn't remove his hand from Jungkook's biceps yet. "This one..." Jungkook nervously says, picking out a black t-shirt, arm sizzling where Taehyung touches it. "Do you want to wear it?"
"Anything is fine." Taehyung says, taking it from Jungkook, and examining it. Then, he looks at Jungkook, into his eyes. Their faces are close, and Taehyung's hand is still on Jungkook's bicep. "We're almost the same size, it seems."
Jungkook nervously chuckles, his breath catching in his throat from the proximity. He has no idea what's going on here, between them. "Y-yeah?" "Hmm." Taehyung says, dragging his gaze down Jungkook's neck, shoulder, arms. "But you– you're more muscular. You work out, don't you?"
"Well, yeah." Jungkook says, trying his best to stay calm. "You-you'd need some comfy sweatpants too, hold on." Jungkook picks out a pair, and hands it over. Taehyung lets go of his arm, and excuses himself to go change.
When he comes back, Jungkook has already changed into something more comfortable too, and is making the bed ready for Taehyung. Taehyung's heart melts at the sight. He wordlessly stands there by the door, watching.
Jungkook turns around and is caught off guard by Taehyung standing there. "Oh, Mr. Kim. Umm... The bed." He says, pointing to it. "You can go to sleep now."
"You're going to be fine there, right?" Taehyung asks. "It's already considerate enough of you to bring me here. I don't mind sleeping on the couch, seriously." Jungkook crosses his arms, pouts, and shakes his head. "You're sleeping on the bed, Mr. Kim. Please. You need sleep."
Taehyung sighs, as he walks in with the suit he just took off in his hands, and places it on the chair by the bed. He sits on the edge, and Jungkook just stands there. Getting inside the blanket, Taehyung teases. "Are you waiting to tuck me into bed?"
"Ah haha." Jungkook breaks into a nervous fit of laughter. "No, no I was just– I was going. Good night. Sleep well, okay? I'm right in the other room if you need anything." Taehyung lies down, eyes following Jungkook as he walks away. "Good night, Jungkook."
And Taehyung remembers looking at Jungkook until he's convinced that the latter is comfortably tucked into his sleeping place for the night – the sofa. Taehyung is so tired that his eyes slowly shut after that, and the bed is so comfortable, that it's very easy to fall asleep.
Taehyung's eyes open a little later than usual. As soon as they do, he realises that he overslept. And he feels so refreshed. He hasn't slept this well or for so long in days. He slowly sits up in bed, rubbing his eyes.
"Mr. Kim, you're up!" Jungkook walks in with a mug in his hands. "Here! Coffee?" Taehyung accepts it. "What time is it?" "We need to leave for the office in half an hour, but I think it's best if we go separately. Isn't it?" Taehyung nods.
Taehyung allows himself to shamelessly stare at Jungkook's face for a bit. Like this, in the morning, he somehow looks even more beautiful. Taehyung gulps, and looks down at his hands. "I should probably change into the extra suit I got from office."
"Oh yeah, sure." Jungkook says. "Feel free to use the bathroom first. Because even if I'm running late, my boss won't be mad. R-right?" Taehyung chuckles a little at that, getting out of bed. He walks past Jungkook, and looks at him. "Your boss says thanks. He slept well."
Jungkook bites down on his lip, allowing himself to process the reaction. Kim Taehyung is in his house, and he slept well. Jungkook feels glad. Taehyung is already handsome, but after a good night's sleep, he looks radiant, too.
Jungkook really, really, really wishes they could do this again. Seeing Taehyung well rested makes him happy. And Taehyung is still married – so Jungkook knows better than to cross any lines. But he really wants to spend more time with Taehyung.
So, after around half an hour, he watches Taehyung leave, and lets out a sigh. He gets dressed, and leaves for office as well. Work is so much more fun when it also has someone you want to shower with all your affection.
The day goes by like the previous two days – nothing extraordinary happens during the working hours. Jungkook doesn't see Taehyung during the day – who's busy in his cabin, working. But when the office hours draw to a close, Jungkook starts to feel excited again.
Jungkook watches people leaving, including Hoseok and some new friends he made. He waits until the last employee is out. And as soon as they are, he waits for around fifteen more minutes, before he gets up, and starts to walk over to Taehyung's cabin.
Jungkook reasons with himself that it's okay – firstly, he doesn't intend on doing anything with Taehyung that would be immoral, given the fact that he's married. Jungkook just wants to be around him. And secondly, Taehyung doesn't love his wife, and is getting a divorce soon.
But after Taehyung gets that divorce, Jungkook does plan on making a move, maybe. If only Taehyung reciprocates those feelings, that is. Jungkook is still curious, and he wants to find things out. He tells himself that as long as he doesn't cross any lines, it's okay.
Fingers trembling, Jungkook knocks on the door. "Come in." Taehyung immediately says, and something tells Jungkook that Taehyung knows it's him. It's almost like Taehyung had been expecting him.
Jungkook pushes the door open, and just stands there. He shoves both his hands into his pockets and gulps, biting on his lips and searching for the right words to say. "I... My family members say that I make the best kimchi fried rice ever." Jungkook says.
It catches Taehyung's attention. He looks up at Jungkook, brows a little raised, as if waiting for a follow-up sentence. Jungkook licks his lips nervously. "And umm, I'm making kimchi fried rice tonight."
Taehyung keeps staring at Jungkook without saying much. The corners of his lips twitch slightly, but he controls it. "Yeah?" "I was wondering if you..." Jungkook traces shapes on the floor with his shoe, looking down. "If you'd like to... I mean–"
Taehyung looks down at the files he has been working on, and flips a page, before setting it aside. He looks back up at Jungkook, leaning forward on the table. "Do you want me to come over again? Stay the night?"
Jungkook goes wide-eyed at that, lips parting a little to allow a small gasp. He should probably get used to this – Taehyung is pretty unpredictable. "Y-yes, I mean, only if you want to." Jungkook says.
Taehyung keeps looking at Jungkook, eyes softening a little. "I felt awful about you not getting to sleep on your own bed, though." "But that's not an issue. I don't mind!" Jungkook immediately says. "And besides, I– think of it as an invitation, Mr. Kim. Dinner invitation."
Taehyung lets out a long sigh, closing the files. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't waiting for Jungkook to ask again. He would never cross lines while he's still married, but Taehyung feels some sort of pull towards him. He would love to go again, if he's being honest.
He hasn't stopped thinking about last night, and Jungkook asking him makes him feel a little relieved and happy. He slept so well, felt so comfortable. He's so grateful to Jungkook, and he's hoping to get to know him a little better, at least.
Taehyung nods. "Okay. I'm almost done with work." Jungkook tries his best to hide the big smile on his lips. He bites on his lower one, and nods. "Me too, actually. I'll go pack my stuff up into my bag?"
Taehyung softly smiles at him, and for a second, Jungkook is a little stunned, because Taehyung doesn't do that often. He bows on his way out, shuts the door, and as soon as he's out, Jungkook kneels down and puts a hand on his chest, relieved. He lets out a sigh, and smiles.
It's not much different than last time, except this time when Jungkook gets in the car and looks around in awe, a little more comfortable than the previous day, Taehyung turns to look at him. "Do you want to drive it?" He asks, tone gentle, a small smile on his face.
"Whoa, can I?" Jungkook asks, eyes wide. Taehyung nods, smiling just a little, already getting out of his seat. They exchange places, and this time, it's Jungkook driving them to his place – very carefully, but having a lot of fun. He loves the adrenaline rush.
Taehyung feels warmth bloom in his chest as he looks at Jungkook and the smile on his face throughout the ride. He's missed looking at someone else being happy and feeling happy because of that. To be honest, he's never really experienced that with Eunhee.
Jungkook is such a sweet guy, and if Taehyung was single, he'd probably have made a move right about now. But he can't really do much, because while there's no love in his marriage, he wants to be true to himself. He sighs, turning the ring around his finger once more.
Soon, they reach his apartment, and Jungkook is still pretty happy about having been able to drive. "I'm going to cook you the best dinner ever." Jungkook says, as he unlocks the door. His voice buzzes with excitement, and it makes Taehyung smile a little.
Taehyung nods, even though Jungkook can't see it. "Thank you." "No, thank you, Mr. Kim." Jungkook says, putting his keys on the table and locking the door from inside. "Thanks for letting me drive, and for coming here."
"Shouldn't I be the one thanking you?" Taehyung says it with a straight face and no smile, but he says it in a teasing tone. "It's not like... I don't enjoy your company." Jungkook says, heart beating really fast, and he follows it up with an awkward chuckle.
Taehyung nods. "Alright, then. Good to know." "Anyway, Mr. Kim..." Jungkook smiles. He turns around, starting to walk away. "I'm going to go start preparing dinner, and you can change into something more comfortable."
But Taehyung grabs his wrist, and stops him. Jungkook's breath catches in his throat, and he turns around to look. "You can drop the 'Mr. Kim' when we're alone." Taehyung says, inching closer and looking into his eyes. "When it's just the two of us, how about you call me hyung?"

Hello, I'll be updating now! Minors DO NOT read or interact and DO NOT follow me. πŸ”žπŸ”ž The rest of you, happy reading! Please interact via the QRTs, thank you!
Jungkook stares a little at first, not at all expecting Taehyung to say those words. It's so sudden, so surprising. Jungkook's limbs even freeze for a second. "Oh." He nods, eyes wide but lowering soon after, and his lips parted. "W-would you like that?"
"Yeah." Taehyung nods, unfazed, smiling only slightly. "I would like that. Would you not?" Jungkook's face flushes pink again, his cheeks rising a little when he smiles too. "Ahh, I guess." He says. "It would... It would make us feel..." "Closer?" Taehyung asks.
Jungkook feels his smile falter, and his throat dry up. Then, his hand comes up to scratch the back of his neck. He nods, but can't bring himself to look into Taehyung's eyes. "You're blushing again." Taehyung simply comments. "Your face is...pink."
"Oh. Ahh." Jungkook cups his face. "This?! It's uhh, j-just the natural color of my cheeks." Taehyung raises a brow, lips twitching. "Your cheeks?" And then, Jungkook has a belated realisation. "I-I should go." He panics, pointing to the kitchen. "The food."
Taehyung bites the insides of his cheeks to keep himself from smiling. Jungkook is so nervous, it only adds to his cuteness. Taehyung feels endeared. He watches Jungkook waddle to the kitchen, and speak as he does. "You might want to get changed. You know where my wardrobe is."
Taehyung feels something flutter in his chest at that – Jungkook is just going to let him go look into his closet? "It's your closet." Taehyung says, hands in his pockets. "How can I, practically a stranger, go into your room and look through it?"
Jungkook is sorting vegetables when Taehyung says that, and his fingers still. He doesn't look at Taehyung, because it's easier to say when they aren't facing each other. "I don't think you're a stranger. Not anymore, at least." Jungkook says, voice soft, and then adds. "Hyung."
"Yeah?" Taehyung asks, expecting that answer. He's happy with it. "Yeah." "Don't let actual strangers into your house, though." Taehyung comments, walking into Jungkook's room. "Which shirt should I wear?" "Anything you like." Jungkook shrugs.
So, Taehyung picks a grey t-shirt at random. It would be a little loose on his body, and he can't help but imagine how it would look on Jungkook – taut against his probably toned body. Taehyung shakes off the thought, gets changed, and heads to the kitchen again.
"Can I help?" He asks, walking up behind Jungkook. "No, I've got this." Jungkook nervously chuckles, his fingers suddenly a little shaky. Taehyung takes a step closer, looking down Jungkook's shoulder, and then at his face. "I can prepare the rice for you." Taehyung insists.
His words hit the skin of Jungkook's shoulders as a warm breath, and make goosebumps erupt on his body. He immediately pushes the rice cooker towards Taehyung, feeling like he's going to evaporate. "Okay." He says.
Jungkook starts cutting the vegetables. He does it meticulously, careful with each movement of the knife. He seems like a pro in the kitchen. Taehyung watches him carefully, feeling impressed. "You're quite the chef, aren't you?"
Jungkook smiles. "Nah. I just enjoy cooking." "What else do you enjoy?" "Hmm. Drawing? Singing. Photography. I have several hobbies, but no time." Taehyung listens carefully, and then nods.
"What about you, hyung?" Jungkook asks. The hyung sounds so sweet when he says it, Taehyung thinks, smiling to himself. "Not as many as you, but I like golfing. I also enjoy listening to music."
"Someday, we should sit down and I should make some music, then." Jungkook chuckles. "I'd write some songs. You could listen and approve." "Yeah?" Taehyung says. "And who would be the subject of that song? Me?"
Jungkook's hand slips over the handle of the knife at the words, and the carrot in his grip goes flying off the counter. "Fuck." He whispers, voice so low that only he can hear it. Taehyung is making him feel things with his words alone.
Taehyung's eyes follow the vegetable, and he tilts his head, amused. "You okay there, Jungkook-ah? Want hyung to take over?" Jungkook holds up his hand, index finger and thumb joined in a circle to indicate that he's fine. He's not – his heart is pounding against his chest.
"Let's get to know each other. Now." Taehyung says. "Okay?" "Okay." "Hometown?" "Busan." "Ah. I love Busan." "Do..." Jungkook tries. Just goes for it. "You want to go with me someday?"
The corner of Taehyung's lips twitch upwards yet again, and he looks at Jungkook. "I'll take you someday." He says, eyes back on the rice cooker. "Maybe."
"Where did you study, Jungkook?" He asks, eyes tracing the curves and lines down Jungkook's head, going down to his neck and dipping into his collarbone, which peeks through his t-shirt. "Yonsei, hyung." "Hmm. Is your family back in Busan?" Jungkook nods.
"Do you like living alone? Here in Seoul?" Jungkook stops to think about it. He sighs, and turns to face Taehyung, eyes wandering off a little. "It's... It can get a little lonely sometimes."
Taehyung smiles, understanding how Jungkook feels. He's been lonely for four years, even with another person at home. "I understand." Taehyung says, taking another step in Jungkook's direction, and they're face to face now, so close. "And... do you feel lonely now? Right now?"
Jungkook allows himself a smile, but he shies away from meeting Taehyung's gaze. "No, I don't. It's nice having you here." "Hmm? Me?" Taehyung teases, certain what he had meant when he asked Jungkook that question. It was intentional, after all. "We were talking about me?!"
Jungkook bites his lower lip, trying to contain his smile and the blush that spreads on his face. "...No." And Taehyung breaks into a hearty laugh. It's the first time Jungkook actually hears him laugh out loud. The sound, the person, the sight – everything is so beautiful.
Jungkook stares in awe as Taehyung stops laughing – he just smiles now, and gets back to working on the rice. "You're rather handsome, Jungkook." Taehyung glances at him briefly, and says, so easily. But it sounds genuine. "Very pretty to look at."
Jungkook stops cutting the vegetables again, his hand pausing automatically as he hears the words. Neither can he process it, nor does he know how to respond. But he collects himself, and calms his heart down. This shouldn't be hard – he just has to thank Taehyung.
"Thank you, hyung." Jungkook says, the words almost stuck in his throat. "You... You too, are really handsome. Like, really handsome." He nervously chuckles. "Yeah?" Taehyung asks, attention fully on Jungkook, who is biting on his lower lip. "Do you think I'm attractive?"
"You're making me really nervous, hyung." Jungkook blurts out, softly, pouting. Taehyung chuckles to himself, fond. He doesn't tease Jungkook any further. And after that, little topics here and there come up, and the conversation flows quite well.
And you see, the thing with conversations is that they can be powerful. If you enjoy talking to someone you like just a little, there's a good chance your feelings will intensify. Jungkook is already pretty attracted to Taehyung, and Taehyung is very good with his words.
By the time they set the table and start to eat, they've already talked about all the basics one should learn about someone they're trying to know. Taehyung tells him little tidbits of his life, too. Even though he's a little guarded at first.
"It's great." Taehyung says, putting a spoonful into his mouth. "You're skilled." Jungkook blushes, but doesn't say anything. He smiles, and nods in acknowledgement. "Also, like I said, you were quite the sight back there while cooking." Jungkook starts coughing.
Taehyung says it very casually, and Jungkook wonders how he can say things like that without being fazed in the least. Regardless, he maintains his composure and looks at Taehyung, who seems to be enjoying this development between them a lot.
And then, Jungkook suddenly wants to ask Taehyung something that's been on his mind. "Hyung..." Jungkook begins, nervous. "Umm, I'm sorry if I'm overstepping but... if you want to share. Why did you marry? Were you in love?"
"It was an arranged marriage." Taehyung says, and he seems comfortable sharing it with Jungkook. "I thought, maybe we'd eventually love each other. But no. It just got worse." Jungkook bites on his lower lip, feeling sorry.
"Oh, umm. And you want to divorce her." Jungkook says, trying hard to make it sound nonchalant, but he fails. "R-right?" Taehyung seems amused though. He leans forward, and searches Jungkook's face with his eyes. "Once again, you seem pretty eager for my divorce."
Jungkook feigns a laugh, but it sounds so fake, that he gives up on trying to play it cool. He sighs, shoulders slumping. He looks up at Taehyung, and says. "Is it bad that maybe... I am?"
Taehyung lifts his chin then, eyes locking with Jungkook's. He looks at him for a few seconds, before answering. "No, it's not." Taehyung says, gaze piercing through Jungkook's. "It's a good thing, actually."
"It is?" Jungkook looks away, down at his plate because he feels shy under Taehyung's gaze. "Why?" "It's a good thing in general, if you think about it." Taehyung says, his eyes never leaving Jungkook. "I get to be free. Do as I please. See whom I want to."
"Oh." Jungkook says. "You can still meet people, though. That's not wrong, I guess. Friends. Or... other people you like spending time with. Especially if you're going to end the marriage anyway." "I know." Taehyung says. "I'm here with you, am I not?"
Jungkook feels electricity shooting through his entire body. He fiddles with the spoon, still unable to look into Taehyung's eyes. "Oh. So we're... Like, friends, now?" Taehyung thinks about it. "Maybe you're also the second category. Other people I like spending time with."
Jungkook's face turns redder by the second, and he shifts in his seat, trying to contain all the feelings knocking against his ribcage. "Hyung..." He says, trying to change the topic. "What do you feel about the divorce?"
Taehyung uses his chopsticks to pick up a piece of meat, but before eating himself, he holds it in front of Jungkook's mouth, and feeds him. Jungkook is taken aback. And as he eats it, Taehyung smiles. "I can't wait to get divorced, Jungkook-ah."
[ A/N : It's going okay until now, right? 🫠🫠 There's more left to update tonight, I'll be right back in a few minutes! ]
After they've had dinner, both of them clean up after themselves, working quietly in sync, and it makes Taehyung think. This is what he would expect out of a relationship – the domesticity, the comfortable silence. He never found that in his marriage.
And when he's done, he takes a look at Jungkook. He happily goes around his house, doing his chores like a normal person. He makes the house he lives in seem like home. It's so warm and comfortable here, that Taehyung wishes he could stay forever.
"I'm going to go make the bed. You can grab some water from the kitchen if you'd like." Jungkook says and walks over to the bedroom. That breaks Taehyung out of his thoughts. He nods, and heads towards the kitchen with a silly lingering smile on his face.
But on his way to fetch water, Taehyung takes a good look at the couch. It's neither too wide, nor too long, and a pillow is squished up against one of the armrests. There's no way a full grown adult as tall as Taehyung would be able to comfortably sleep on that couch.
He glances in Jungkook's direction, and sees that he's busy making the bed for Taehyung. Taehyung takes in a long breath. He wasn't happy about Jungkook having to sleep on the couch but now, after really observing how uncomfortable it looks, he can't allow that to happen.
Jungkook should take the bed. Taehyung is the guest, and he should be the one adjusting. "The couch looks good, you know. Tempting." Taehyung says, loud enough for Jungkook to hear. "I think I might just sleep here tonight."
"What? No!" Jungkook chuckles. "I'm fine, hyung. You're going to sleep here." Taehyung lets out a sigh, before he grabs a bottle of water from the kitchen and marches back to Jungkook's room. He knows that Jungkook isn't going to listen.
"There!" Jungkook says, pleased with what he's done. "The bed is ready for you to sleep. Feel free to hop right in!" "And?" Taehyung places the bottle onto the nightstand, and teases Jungkook. "Are you going to linger around again so you can tuck me into bed?"
Jungkook's face turns pink again, and he bashfully laughs. "No, hyung, I'm going–" "Wait." Taehyung says, as soon as Jungkook takes a step in the direction of the door. And before Jungkook can leave the room, Taehyung is walking around the bed, towards him.
He only stops when he's just inches away from Jungkook. Any closer, and their chests would probably collide. Jungkook realises that, and his breath catches in his throat. He barely manages to look into Taehyung's eyes, when Taehyung gently wraps his fingers around his wrist.
He tugs Jungkook towards the bed, urging him to sit, and he does. When Jungkook is on the edge of the bed, Taehyung gently pushes him backwards by the shoulders until he's lying down. He even pulls up the comforter, right upto Jungkook's chest.
Jungkook doesn't question it. Just watches, heart throbbing in his chest. He's too stunned to respond, anyway. His arms and legs are buzzing with excitement, but also really cold right now.
Taehyung walks back around the bed to the other side, knee dipping onto the edge of the mattress. Jungkook's eyes follow him. "Jungkook-ah." Taehyung says, voice low and so gentle. His eyes are fixed onto Jungkook's. "Is it okay if hyung sleeps in the same bed with you tonight?"
[ A/N : We all knew this was coming. Hope you enjoyed reading! Let me know your thoughts. Good night! ]
Hello, I'll be updating now! Minors DO NOT read or interact and DO NOT follow me. πŸ”žπŸ”ž The rest of you, happy reading!
Jungkook stills at the words, eyes bulging out for a moment. His heart starts to beat really fast, the words sinking in. He doesn't think he can speak out, so he just nods, puts up a thumb in approval, and hums. There's a nervous, awkward smile on his face.
Taehyung quirks a brow, biting back a smile. "You sure?" "Yeah-huh." Jungkook nervously laughs out, turning his head to look at the ceiling because he can't bring himself to maintain eye contact anymore. Then, he pats on the empty pillow beside the one he has his own head on.
An amused smile on his face, Taehyung climbs into bed carefully. Slowly, he lies down, and gets inside the comforter too, careful so that their bodies do not touch. He sinks into the pillow, groaning out in comfort. Jungkook shuts his eyes when he does, blushing.
"Hmm." Taehyung says, turning to look at Jungkook. "G-good night." Jungkook says, when he senses Taehyung's eyes on him. "Hyung." Taehyung looks back up at the ceiling. "Do you ever stop blushing, Jungkook?" Taehyung asks.
Jungkook tries to act nonchalant, like it doesn't affect him at all. "Haha, no hyung." Jungkook says. "I told you my skin is naturally pink, remember? Haha."
Taehyung smiles fondly at him when Jungkook isn't looking, the warmth expanding further in his chest. He extends his arm out to turn out the bedside lamp, and shuts his eyes. "Good night, Jungkook. I hope you sleep well."
Taehyung's eyes open exactly at the same time as every other morning. He feels well rested, just like the previous two times at Jungkook's house, and he stretches in bed a little. That's when he feels the heavy weight settled on thighs.
He lifts the comforter a little, squinting to look. One of Jungkook's thighs has ended up on top of his own, and Jungkook's arm is thrown across Taehyung's chest. Taehyung hasn't moved around much in his sleep, but he can't say the same about Jungkook.
Taehyung takes a look at his face, the plump, pink parted lips as Jungkook's chest heaves up and down in deep sleep. Taehyung gulps, and looks away. The fluttering inside his chest just won't go away. "Fuck."
Taehyung is very careful as he tries to get out of bed, so that he doesn't disturb Jungkook while he sleeps, but as soon as he tries to move away, Jungkook's head snaps up from where he's lying, hair sticking out in all directions. "Hyung?" He asks, pouting, eyes half-shut.
"Jungkook?" Taehyung freezes in place. "You're up." "Where are you going?" Jungkook asks, voice groggy. He lies back down, but keeps talking. "It's a Sunday. No office. Get more sleep."
"Ah." Taehyung says, realising it. How did he forget. "Right. I'll make a quick run to the bathroom." "Okay." Jungkook mumbles in his sleep. "I'll be up in a bit and make you some breakfast."
Taehyung stares at him, and there's this strange feeling in his chest. Taehyung immediately grabs his phone, checks notifications and sends out some texts that he needs to, and rushes to the bathroom. When he comes back, all fresh, he sits on the edge of the bed.
"Jungkook?" Taehyung says, voice low and gentle. "Mhm. Five more minutes, hyung." Jungkook says. Taehyung's heart melts again. "No, sleep as much as you want to." Taehyung smiles. "When you wake up, I'm taking you out to eat."
Jungkook's head perks up again. "Out for breakfast? Really?" "Yeah." Taehyung nods. "Or lunch. Depending on how much you want to sleep." Jungkook smiles. "Thanks, hyung. You don't have to, but still." "Oh no, I have to. And I want to."
"Why do you have to?" Jungkook whines. "I can't keep taking and taking and taking, Jungkook." Taehyung smiles, controlling the urge to run his fingers through Jungkook's fluffy hair. "I want to give, too."
Jungkook looks at him for a bit, before smiling and shutting his eyes again. "I want to sleep some more, hyung." Taehyung nods, and lets him. When Jungkook keeps sleeping for another hour, Taehyung walks out of the apartment by himself.
He comes back fifteen minutes later, hands full of paper carry bags containing food. "Jungkook." He says, voice low. "Since you're still sleepy, I brought breakfast to you."
Jungkook stirs, half opening his eyes to look. His eyes widen when he sees Taehyung carrying the food bags. Jungkook sits up in bed. "You got so much food for me?"
"Well, for both of us." Taehyung says. "You should–" Jungkook is already getting out of bed, hurrying towards the bathroom. "I'm going to brush my teeth and use the bathroom! Be right back. Don't start without me, hyung."
And Taehyung doesn't. He smiles to himself like an idiot while Jungkook is in the bathroom, and he waits for him to come back. Jungkook peeks through the door a while later, and asks Taehyung to come out to the dining area. Taehyung immediately does.
Jungkook sets down plates and bowls for the two of them, while Taehyung serves the food. There's gilgeori toast, kimchi stew and some egg rice, as well. "So much food." Jungkook says as they sit down. "But I can eat it all, don't worry."
Taehyung smiles, lips pressed tightly together as he eats, and his eyes turn into crescents. When he swallows his food, he takes a sip of water, and sets his glass down before speaking. "You're so, so cute." Jungkook accidentally stuffs his mouth with more food than intended.
He chews aggressively, brows drawn together as he tries to gulp down the food. He has to drink some water to calm himself down. Taehyung keeps staring, amused. "Waiting for your face to turn pink, once again."
Jungkook looks at Taehyung, no expression on his face. "Do you like it when I blush or something? Because you seem to be doing it on purpose, hyung." He complains. "Yes, I like it. A lot. It makes me want to–" Taehyung stops. He doesn't say the next words that come to his mind.
Jungkook's eyes widen, and his hold on his chopsticks loosens. "Hmm?" He asks, heart beating fast in his chest. Taehyung snaps out of it, looking down at his bowl. He pokes his chopsticks into his food, fiddling with it. "It makes me want to tease you. That's what I meant."
"Oh. You're a meanie." Jungkook teases back. "So, what are you going to do after this?" "I told you we'd go out." Jungkook looks surprised. "Even after you brought me all this food?"
"Yes. I was thinking we'd have lunch at one of my favorite restaurants." Taehyung says. "Haneul. It's an open terrace fine dining restaurant in Gangnam." Jungkook gasps. "We don't need to go to an expensive place, hyung, it's okay!"
"It's fine. I like the food there." Taehyung says. "And I think, and hope, that you will too." "Okay." Jungkook smiles shyly, finishing off the rest of his food. "Should I wear a nice suit, then?"
Taehyung smiles up at him. "I have some extra at the office. I always keep a few there. Do you want me to bring you one?" "Ah, no, hyung." Jungkook starts to blush. "I'll j-just wear a nice shirt. I was kidding."
"No, it's not a big deal." Taehyung already grabs his phone, and starts to look through something. "I can also get a new one delivered here. Hold on. I think all black would look great on you." "Hyung..." Jungkook says, hearta fluttering, liquid mess. "It's really okay."
"Jungkook." Taehyung says with a tone of finality, and keeps his phone on the table, screen down. He leans forward, and speaks. "You've made my life, which was quite the living hell, a little more bearable over the past few days. I haven't smiled this much in months."
Jungkook listens, cheeks turning more and more pink by the second. "I was so stressed and not being able to sleep was just making everything worse. You solved that, too. You don't understand how much you're helping me cope. So please, let me do this for you."
Jungkook nods, then, his body tingling with warmth. "Wow. I'm... I'm glad I could help, hyung." "Thanks." Taehyung smiles, and he grabs his phone again. He wants to dress Jungkook up, although he's so handsome that he doesn't need anything extra to enhance it.
An hour later, they're both back in Taehyung's car. But this time, Jungkook is dressed in an extremely well-fitted, premium black suit with a black shirt underneath, nervously fiddling with his outfit beside Taehyung.
"Hyung. Does this even look good on me?" Jungkook asks finally, the thought eating him up from inside. "I don't really wear suits too often." Taehyung steals a glance at Jungkook as he drives. "Will you stop worrying? You look very handsome. Don't you trust my words?"
Jungkook turns away to look outside the window, trying to bite back a smile. "Thanks hyung. Uhm, you too." Taehyung smiles in response, even though Jungkook can't see it.
They arrive at the restaurant, and at first, Jungkook hates how everyone is way too quiet. There's already a table reserved for them, and a staff leads them to it. They sit down, and Jungkook is glad that Taehyung orders, because what even are those dishes on the menu card?
The food arrives, and it kind of annoys him how the amount doesn't look nearly enough. When the staff moves away, he whispers to Taehyung. "How can they charge those prices for... this?!"
Taehyung lets out a hearty chuckle, heart aching from how Jungkook and every little thing about him makes him feel. "Taste this." Taehyung places a spoonful of a strange looking chicken dish on Jungkook's plate. "You're going to like this one."
And Jungkook eats the little piece of meat on his plate in one go, and chews, contemplating. A few seconds later, he nods. "Mhm. It's good. But you know what's better, hyung?"
Taehyung shoots a questioning glance at him. "Will you come with me?" Jungkook asks. Taehyung smiles, putting some more meat on Jungkook's plate. It's so satisfying to watch him eat. "I'll go anywhere with you."
So, after they're done eating, Taehyung lets Jungkook drive. He stops just outside Lotte World, and even though they might bump into someone they know from the office, Taehyung feels like taking it easy.
"You should have told me in advance." Taehyung says as they walk around inside the massive amusement park. "I would have worn something a little more... fun." "It doesn't matter." Jungkook says. "We're still going to have fun on those rides."
Taehyung looks at him, throat going a little dry. "I'm actually a little scared of heights. And rides like these in general." "You've... You've never been on one?" Jungkook asks. Taehyung shakes his head. Disappointed, Jungkook nods. "Okay, we can look for something else."
And Taehyung doesn't like the way Jungkook's face falls. "You really want to get on that ride? Wearing a suit? With me?" Jungkook chuckles. "Yeah. But it's okay." "Let's do it."
"Are you sure, hyung?" Jungkook asks. "We really don't have to–" But Taehyung is already advancing towards the ticket counter, and Jungkook runs after him, stopping him. He takes out his wallet, and grabs Taehyung's wrist. "It's okay, hyung. It's on me."
Taehyung swats his hand away. "Nonsense. I'm the hyung. Shh, stay back and get in line." Jungkook chuckles. "After you, then. Don't be scared, okay? I'll... umm. Hold your hand. If you want."
Taehyung looks up at him as he slides the money towards the person at the counter. "Are you sure? What if you turn all pink again, hmm?" Jungkook frowns. "Hyung?! Can you be a little quiet?"
"A little quiet?" Taehyung teases. "Yeah?" Jungkook says, as if it should be obvious. Taehyung nods, taking the tickets, bowing at and thanking the person at the counter, and turning around to walk towards the line. "Yeah?" He asks. "Feels like our little secret, doesn't it?"
Jungkook obviously isn't able to answer, standing behind Taehyung. Chewing on his bottom lip, he's a blushing mess. They aren't really doing anything wrong or crossing lines, but it feels like it's forbidden. And yet, Jungkook doesn't want this to stop.
When they get on the ride, Jungkook holds his palm out for Taehyung to hold. "Here. Hold on tight, and don't let go." Taehyung doesn't even hesitate before taking Jungkook's hand. "Alright. I'll just close my eyes."
The ride starts to move. Taehyung's grip on Jungkook's hand tightens, but he doesn't look too scared. Just a little nervous, chest heaving up and down a little faster than usual. At first, the ride moves upwards, and he's fine.
But when it starts to move downwards, Jungkook begins to see some reactions. "Fuck, I can't." Taehyung whispers, squeezing his eyes shut. "I can't even look."
Jungkook's heart beats just as fast, but not because of the ride. Maybe the adrenaline rush makes him a little braver, as he gently presses his thumb deeper into Taehyung's hand. Taehyung looks at him, and then, Jungkook says. "Hyung, look at me."
Taehyung stares into his eyes, as they move up and down the roller coaster. His heart is a mess right now, but there's something peaceful about just looking at Jungkook, or even just into his eyes. It's better than keeping his eyes shut, to be honest.
"Imagine that this rollercoaster is your marriage. Your lack of sleep." Jungkook says. "And this?" He points at their hands. "Is my little bed at my apartment." Taehyung chuckles even though he's shit scared right now, at a height he doesn't even want to look down from.
And he makes it out safe, but he tells Jungkook that he is never stepping on another ride. They walk around a lot, talk a lot, and laugh a lot. And of course, with their shared love for food, they eat a lot, too.
As the sky keeps getting darker, Taehyung drives them to the Han river. They stand by the railing for a long time, just talking about random stuff. It feels nice, and the atmosphere just makes Taehyung feel warmer, even in December.
The sky is crimson overhead, and Jungkook is right beside him, staring over the river. The sun is about to set, but it leaves its glow on the contours of Jungkook's face. Taehyung can't bring himself to look away.
"Jungkook..." He blurts out, as if his heart is totally in control of him. "I had such a great time with you today." Jungkook turns at him, and smiles. "Me too, hyung." Taehyung's heart aches, in the best way possible. "I always... have a great time with you, Jungkook."
Jungkook's cheeks and ears turn almost the same color as the sky. "Uhm... To be honest, so do I. Every single time." "You do?" Taehyung steps closer, a faint, playful smirk on his lips. "You like spending time with hyung, hmm?"
"Yeah." Jungkook looks down at his hands. "You?" "What do you think? I just told you." Taehyung steps even closer. "Even if I hadn't said it. Can't you tell?"
Jungkook looks back at him, eyes big and starry and Taehyung lets out a longing sigh. He's so, so fond of Jungkook. "Jungkook." He leans in, and whispers. "Here's one more secret. Just between us."
Jungkook feels his skin heating up, especially where Taehyung's warm beath hits him when he speaks. "Yeah, hyung?" "I don't know if it should be said." Taehyung teases. "But I really, really like you. And if I wasn't married, I'd show you just how much, if you'd let me."

Jungkook's breath hitches, the words sinking in. They settle on his skin like electricity, and he has to take a moment before he can respond. "Hyung..." Jungkook says. "Do I have to say it, too? Or is it obvious already?"
"Want me to tell you the truth?" Taehyung asks. Jungkook nods, biting his lip nervously and looking down at the river. Taehyung brushes a stray strand away from Jungkook's forehead, fond smile on his face. "You don't hide your feelings very well, Jungkook."
Jungkook can't stop the blush from spreading all over his cheeks. "Oh. Is that so?" Taehyung nods. "I think it's adorable." Jungkook can't take it anymore, so he changes the topic. "D-do you want to sleep over at mine today as well?"
"Of course." Taehyung teases. "Where else would I go?" Jungkook nods, heart fluttering in his chest at the words. "Okay. Let's go, then."
Jungkook feels elated. It's the first time they've openly talked about their feelings, albeit it was only just a few sentences. As Taehyung drives them back, Jungkook steals glances at him. And when he's doing so, at one points, he notices Taehyung's phone buzz.
Jungkook watches as Taehyung fishes it out and looks at it, and he watches how Taehyung's expression immediately changes. His jaw clenches, and his brows draw together. Jungkook wonders what's wrong.
Taehyung looks pissed off, and lowkey scary as he shoves the phone back into his pocket. He keeps driving, without saying a word about it. Jungkook looks away a few seconds later, unsure if he should ask. But something feels strange and unsettling.
When they reach his apartment, Taehyung talks to him, but he seems a little distracted, and Jungkook is sure something is off. "Hyung." Jungkook asks when they're already under the sheets. "Are you okay? You seem a little worried."
Taehyung sighs, loud enough for Jungkook to hear. "Just some stuff I need to figure out." Taehyung says, voice heavy with something Jungkook can't put a finger on.
"Oh." Jungkook says, feeling lost and worried, but he doesn't want to interfere because it seems personal. "Good luck to you, hyung. Fighting!" Taehyung turns to look at him and smiles, but his heart aches as he looks at Jungkook.
And even when Jungkook falls asleep, Taehyung isn't able to, and only keeps staring at his sleeping form with that persistent ache in his heart. Why did they have to meet while Taehyung was in such a tricky situation? Why couldn't he have met Jungkook first?
He sighs, chest feeling heavy with a weight he wishes he didn't have to carry. He feels sorry, but he doesn't know if he should put that weight on Jungkook yet. He doesn't want to burden him.
Taehyung manages to get around an hour and a half of sleep, eyes puffy when he wakes in the morning. He gets ready first, and Jungkook looks at him through half open eyes and smiles. Taehyung smiles back, but it only makes everything hurt more.
He leaves first, but doesn't forget to ruffle Jungkook's hair after he has fallen asleep again. When Jungkook wakes up, he finds a bag of takeout ready on his nightstand. His heart feels so full.
He reaches office a little later than usual, because he spent way too much time trying to make himself look good for Taehyung. When he reaches office, though, to his surprise, Taehyung isn't there yet.
He sits down at his desk and gets to work. It bothers him because it is very unlikely for Taehyung to be late, but he tries to focus on work. "Why that big pout?" Hoseok asks him, and that's when he snaps out of his thoughts.
Jungkook only then realises that he had been pouting. "Uhh, just... A little tired." "Why? Were you up all night?" Hoseok wiggles his brows. "Did you get some action?"
Jungkook lets out a chuckle. "I wish it was that easy." "Why not?" Hoseok says. "You're a handsome, intelligent young man. Come with me to the club tonight, I'll introduce you to some people. See if you–" "Hyung." Jungkook stops him. "It's okay, really." Hoseok frowns.
Hoseok shrugs, and moves on to another topic, and Jungkook tries to listen, but his heart really isn't in it. When they have their lunch break, Jungkook tells Hoseok he's going to stay back. And when everyone moves out of the floor, Jungkook hurries to Taehyung's cabin.
Much to his disappointment, Taehyung isn't in his cabin. The realisation that he hasn't come at all today settles upon Jungkook. And it leaves him with a question. Several, actually. Why didn't Taehyung tell him he wasn't going to be here?
What if he had planned to come, but something came up? And what if that something is related to the way his face tensed up the previous day? Jungkook feels like shit just imagining all of it, and he really hopes that Taehyung is okay.
Feeling helpless, he fishes his phone out of his pocket. They had exchanged numbers, but they've never texted or called each other. All of Jungkook's communication with Taehyung has either been face to face, or via notes and food.
He clicks on Taehyung's contact, and a chat window comes up. Jungkook's fingers hover over the keypad, and he thinks. Would he seem too clingy if he texted? Jungkook sighs, and clicks the back button. Maybe he should wait and be a little patient.
Somehow, he finishes work and goes home. But even then, he feels restless. He keeps hoping that Taehyung is going to show up. Glances out his window from where he can see the street. Looks into the peephole on his door several times. Taehyung doesn't come.
Jungkook doesn't even have the appetite for anything once it's midnight. There's no use waiting anymore, so he just eats a little and goes to sleep. He hopes he'll get his answers tomorrow, at the office.
Jungkook doesn't. Taehyung doesn't show up for the second day in a row, and Jungkook is starting to feel really helpless. He works with his shoulders slouched the whole day, only Taehyung on his mind all day.
[ A/N : Is the angst angsting? ]
And back at his apartment, Jungkook spends his time watching sad movies, downing a whole bucket of ice-cream and eating way too much. He feels slightly better, but not enough to make him forget about Taehyung. His apartment suddenly feels so empty.
Looking at his bed, at his dining area or even just the door reminds him of the times Taehyung would visit. Jungkook feels so sad, head thrown back against the back of his couch, that he further drowns himself in his thoughts until a tear slips out of the corner of his eye.
Taehyung doesn't show up the next day, or the day after that, or that whole week. Sulking and pining and longing, Jungkook feels emotionally exhausted at the end of the week. So, he finally decides to listen to Hoseok and go to the club with him.
Jungkook only wants to go to get his mind off of Taehyung. He doesn't want to find someone new, and he knows that he isn't going to like anyone when he's so into Taehyung. And even though they aren't official yet, it feels wrong to to seek someone else.
Going from the apartment to the office and back, when both of those remind him so much of Taehyung is taking a toll on him, and he thinks he needs a breath of fresh air. Maybe, the club will provide him that.
He finishes work, and is ready to pack his stuff and join Hoseok, when Jungkook's phone buzzes. It's a text from Taehyung, after five days of silence. Jungkook's heart jumps in his chest. But when he reads the text, he doesn't know what to feel.
Jungkook, I'm okay. Don't worry about me, just take care of yourself. Jungkook reads the text a million times over. It has a tone of finality to it that Jungkook doesn't like. He's relieved to hear from Taehyung, but the text seems so ambiguous.
Somehow, the text just makes everything worse. Even when he's at the club, trying to forget everything, he only looks at his phone screen, eyes glued to that one text he cannot quite decipher.
Hoseok introduces Jungkook to his friends Yoongi, Namjoon and Seokjin. They're welcoming and funny, and Jungkook enjoys talking to them. It momentarily makes him forget. All of them get up to dance, and insist on Jungkook coming with them, but he politely shakes his head.
Instead, he takes a seat by the bar, and just watches. There's so many good looking people around his age, but he doesn't even feel interested enough to let his eyes linger. They don't hold a candle to Taehyung, anyway.
When a guy comes up to him and offers to buy him a drink, Jungkook can't help but compare. This guy is cute, but he doesn't have that charm. He doesn't speak as gently. Neither do his eyes pierce through Jungkook's soul. Jungkook sighs, and politely says that he has to leave.
He waves goodbye to Hoseok and his friends, and heads straight back home. The club scene isn't for him, really. He prefers cozy nights indoors, with the person he likes. And he had it, and suddenly, he doesn't anymore.
It's hard to fall asleep when all Jungkook does is stare at the text. His fingers itch to text back, but for some reason, it feels like his message wouldn't be too welcome. He wonders if Taehyung's wife is giving him a hard time. Jungkook cries himself to sleep once again.
There's a lot of talk going around the office in the next few days. People start to speculate a lot of things, and each time information is passed on, there's a new layer added to it. Jungkook hates hearing it. All of it.
"Where do you think boss is now?" Hoseok says, when they're working at the office a few days later. Jungkook's heart starts to beat faster, and panicking, he snaps at Hoseok. "How would I know? I'm not his assistant."
Hoseok is stunned when Jungkook speaks a little rudely, but immediately, Jungkook realises it and feels horrible. "Hyung, I'm so sorry." He pinches the bridge of his nose. "I'm just... I'm a little tired." Hoseok pats him. "It's okay, man. But you need to rest." Jungkook nods.
His final breaking point comes when he overhears some employees talking at lunch. He's only trying to eat in peace, but the words plant seeds of doubt in his head, and he just can't unhear them.
"Where do you think boss is right now?" One of them says. "Someone says he's flown off to a foreign location to take time off work." "Really?" The other says. "I heard someone say that maybe he's vacationing with his wife."
Jungkook grips his sandwich so hard, that the filling oozes out onto his plate. Suddenly, he doesn't feel like eating. His chest clenches at the thoughts. What if it's true? Jungkook wouldn't be able to bear it.
His eyes sting and he tries to hold back his tears. He doesn't want to cry in public. Stuffing the rest of his lunch into his mouth, Jungkook gets up and leaves. He doesn't want to hear any more of it.
He gets off early, and heads straight to the banks of the Han river. It's probably a bad idea, a reminder of how they confessed to each other, but Jungkook just thinks he needs a good cry.
There's not a lot of people, so Jungkook relaxes a bit. He finds the exact spot he had been at with Taehyung, and goes and stands there. He touches the railing where Taehyung had leaned against it, and lets himself cry a little. It's painful.
When he looks here and there, he spots several couples. Technically, Taehyung and him were never a couple, but it had started to feel like it. Jungkook just didn't think it would only last for a very short period of time.
And then, it's the same as always. He heads back home, and hopes for Taehyung to return. Even if they're not meant to be, Jungkook feels like he deserves closure.
It's dark when he gets back, and he feels drained physically and emotionally as he ascends the stairs to his apartment. Jungkook is startled when he notices a figure leaning against his door, perhaps waiting for him.
Jungkook stops in his tracks, eyes going wide. But as the initial shock fades away, his steps get quicker because even in the dark, the shape and presence of him is unmistakable.
Jungkook walks up to where he's standing, and wordlessly stares. "Jungkook-ah." The voice feels soothing, familiar. "Can I come in, too?"
Jungkook feels way too shocked and overwhelmed to speak right now. He wordlessly unlocks his apartment door, heart beating like crazy in his chest. He holds the door open until Taehyung walks in. Jungkook then shuts it to turn around and face him.
Jungkook crosses his arms as they face each other, determined to not soften. He can't look Taehyung in the eye, though. He keeps looking down, waiting for an explanation. Taehyung takes a step forward. "I'm sorry about being away for a while."
At that, Jungkook looks up. Taehyung's eyes are bloodshot, his hair is messed up and his eyes have dark circles around them. He looks spent, exhausted. Jungkook instantly feels worried, but doesn't voice it out loud. Instead, he stares at Taehyung's face in question.
"Why are you sorry?" Jungkook says, sounding bitter. "It's not like we're together or something." "But I want us to be." Taehyung says, stepping even closer.
Jungkook looks him in the eye this time. "You know that's not possible right now." "It is." Taehyung says, caging Jungkook against the door with his arms on either side of Jungkook's body. "Jungkook-ah. I got the divorce."
[ A/N : Good night. I hope you liked reading, would love to hear your thoughts, thank you! ]
Hello, last update! Minors DO NOT read or interact and DO NOT follow me! πŸ”žπŸ”ž The rest of you, happy reading!
Jungkook takes a moment to process the words – a divorce. Taehyung said he got a divorce. Jungkook crosses his arms, curling in on himself, but his eyes widen in question as he keeps staring at Taehyung. Jungkook feels a little out of breath.
"Yes." Taehyung says, taking a step towards Jungkook carefully, as if Jungkook might run away from him any moment. "I got a divorce. I'm... free now, Jungkook-ah." Jungkook's eyes still keep staring at his face, and he doesn't know what to say in response.
"My best friend Jimin... he's my lawyer." Taehyung continues when Jungkook doesn't speak. "Jimin found evidence of Eunhee cheating on me." Jungkook looks down. "Oh..."
"And... Jimin and I used some connections to speed up the process. Otherwise, it would have taken at least a month. The evidence helped, too." Taehyung continues. Jungkook listens, and after a few seconds, speaks again. "You could have told me. Maybe."
Taehyung sighs. "Jungkook... I was basically spending the better part of my day at court. All the back and forth, the trials, the endless hours of stress. I didn't want to drag you into all of that. It was my mess." Maybe, Jungkook understands his reasons a little better now.
"Hyung." Jungkook says. "I don't know if you've noticed, but I... I don't mind being a part of... your mess." Taehyung steps closer, and their bodies are almost touching now. "I'm sorry. I just... I was tired. I'm sorry I filled you with worry and doubt. It won't happen again."
Without responding verbally, Jungkook throws his arms around Taehyung, and pulls him into a hug. Taehyung is startled at first, but his hands automatically wrap around Jungkook's waist, and he buries his nose into Jungkook's neck, taking in how good he smells.
And maybe Taehyung's eyes are a little wet, and maybe he sniffs a little. Jungkook immediately notices, fighting tears himself. "Hyung... Are you crying?" Taehyung holds him closer, and a little tighter in response. "I haven't been held like this is years."
Jungkook tightens his arms around Taehyung's shoulders, letting it sink in that they're actually locked in an embrace. It feels surreal. "Hyung." Jungkook manages, a blush creeping up his cheeks, as his heart pounds in his chest. "I'll hold you whenever you want. You can, too."
Taehyung nods. "Okay. Are we good now?" Jungkook nods. Sniffles. "We're good, hyung." "Okay." Taehyung says. "I'll make it up to you for the last two weeks. Okay?" "Okay." Jungkook says, his heart feeling infinitely lighter.
Jungkook cooks in the kitchen, feeling like a dark cloud has suddenly been lifted from over his head. All tha pain he felt in the past few days seems to slowly drain away. Taehyung is back here, and Jungkook feels so relieved.
He's stir frying vegetables with a lot of concentration, when suddenly, he's faced with a distraction. He feels Taehyung drape his arms around his waist, and hook his chin on Jungkook's shoulder. "Am I allowed to do more than just hold you, hm?"
First, Jungkook stills at the touch and warmth, and then at the words. The wooden spatula shakes in his hands, as he stands there frozen. "H-hyung." "Yeah, baby?" Taehyung answers, and Jungkook huffs out an awkward, nervous laugh because he doesn't know what to do.
"I...I..." Jungkook begins, but he is unable to find the words. His body sizzles wherever Taehyung touches him, and he keeps circling the spatula on the surface of the frying pan. And wait, is Taehyung shirtless? Jungkook almost drops the spatula into the vegetables.
"How?" Taehyung whispers near his neck, tightening his arms around Jungkook's torso. "Are you allowed to be this adorable?" And Jungkook starts to awkwardly chuckle, but then there's a charring sound coming from the frying pan. "Oh shit, the vegetables!"
Jungkook panics and tries to take control of the situation, but Taehyung grabs his wrist, and shushes him. "Easy. Relax." He lowers the flame, and guides Jungkook's hand, while still being pressed close against his back. Jungkook wonders if he's dreaming.
The vegetables have all smoked a little, but aren't fully destroyed. Taehyung turns the flame off, and then walks backwards, pulling Jungkook with him. Jungkook feels his heart flip inside his chest, but he also loves the fluttering inside his chest.
Taehyung turns him around in his arms, and gently cups his face. Jungkook's arms fly up to touch his chest, but as soon as they land on his bare nipples, Jungkook removes his hands, blushing furiously. "S-sorry, hyung." Jungkook says, looking down. "I don't know where to touch."
Taehyung smiles, endeared with him. He gently turns Jungkook's face towards himself, until Jungkook is looking into his eyes. "Anywhere you want to touch me is fine." Taehyung tells him. "Everywhere is fine, too."
And Jungkook just can't take it anymore, so he shuts his eyes and hangs his head low. "Hyung, you know I'm shy and yet, you keep teasing me–" "No, baby." Taehyung chuckles, and pulls him closer into a hug. "Come here. Not trying to tease you. Only trying to get you to kiss me."
Taehyung feels Jungkook's sharp breath against his skin, and that only makes him chuckle more. "Look at me." Jungkook shakes his head. "I can't, I might evaporate into thin air if I do."
"Are you sure?" Taehyung teases. "Alright. This is enough for me now. Getting to hold you like this. I had been waiting." At that, Jungkook looks up slowly, until they're facing each other. "Me too. This is even nicer than I thought."
Taehyung fondly smiles at him, eyes softening as he caresses Jungkook's cheeks with his thumb. He then steps back, shoving his hands into the pockets of the sweatpants he's wearing. "I'm going to go put something on. It's cold now that I'm not holding you anymore."
Jungkook immediately turns around to hide his blushing face. He starts to fiddle with some utensils just to have something to do with your hands. "You can hold me at night." Jungkook blurts out. "In b-bed. When we sleep."
Jungkook hears Taehyung chuckle behind him as he walks away. And then, he hears the words. "I'm divorced and freshly single and very much into you." Taehyung says from where he's looking for a t-shirt to put on. "I'd like to ask for permission to do more, if you're comfortable."
Jungkook feels his dick twitch at the words. Pressing his knuckles into the kitchen counter, he mutters a curse under his breath. "Fuck." He whispers. Then, in a louder voice, he answers Taehyung. "Okay. Maybe."
It's how Jungkook ends up staring at the ceiling after dinner, limbs all cold as he lies down straight on the bed, waiting for Taehyung. Jungkook wants to do a lot of things, too, of course. He's been waiting, too. But he just isn't as bold as Taehyung.
The door to the bathroom opens and shuts, which means Taehyung is heading to bed. Jungkook feels his toes curl. He quickly pulls the comforter over himself, completely covering his face as well.
And then, he hears the footsteps get closer, sees the room turn dark, and then feels the mattress dip right beside him. Taehyung gets into bed, and the sheets rustle as he adjusts the comforter over himself as well.
But Jungkook doesn't say anything because his heart is ready to break out at any given moment now. And so, Taehyung doesn't say anything either. Jungkook waits, but there's not a single word. Eventually, Jungkook peeks out. "Hyung?" He whispers, a little whiny.
"Yeah?" Taehyung's voice is low, sleepy, gentle. A little tired. Taehyung is facing the other way, and Jungkook can only see the back of his head. "Are you going to go straight to sleep?" Jungkook asks. "We met after... like, two weeks."
Taehyung partially turns around, and says in a teasing tone. "I thought someone wanted to go straight to sleep, seeing that he hid his face and all." Jungkook sighs. "Stop being mean. I was just– you make me nervous, okay?"
Taehyung fully turns around at that, the charming smile in place. "Come here." He throws out an arm. This time, Jungkook listens, and scoots closer, until they're lying just inches apart and face to face. Jungkook thinks they could even kiss like this, if they only leaned in.
"I wish I had met you earlier." Taehyung says, eyes fixed on Jungkook's. "We would have been the ones married instead." Jungkook bites his lips. The dim light makes him a little braver, somehow. "And there wouldn't even be a question of us divorcing, right?"
Taehyung shoots a brow up in amusement. Jungkook's sudden boldness is surprising, and much welcome. "Never. I'd keep you forever." Jungkook moves closer again, and places shaking fingers on Taehyung's cheeks. "Hyung, I l-like you so much."
Taehyung just smiles, and looks into his eyes. And then, Jungkook shifts closer, putting his palm against Taehyung's chest and leaning in. Nervous, he looks into Taehyung's eyes. When Taehyung cups his face too, Jungkook presses his lips against Taehyung's.
It's a soft, gentle kiss, and Taehyung immediately kisses back, but it's short lived. Jungkook pulls away slowly, and crawls back into his initial position. His heart is beating so loudly that he thinks Taehyung might hear it too.
He stares at the ceiling, in disbelief. Did he really just kiss his boss? And was it good? Did Taehyung think it was okay? Taehyung extends his arm and caresses Jungkook's hair. "Come back here, baby. I'm not done yet."
Jungkook gathers all of his courage, before he's sitting up and crawling over towards Taehyung, only to climb over him. Settling his legs on either side of Taehyung's waist, he straddles his boss, palms on Taehyung's chest. He lowers his face, and kisses Taehyung again.
And this time, the kiss is deeper and sloppier. Their lips move against each other, and when Taehyung inserts his tongue into Jungkook's mouth, Jungkook feels his dick throb again. Taehyung's hands gently move up his ass to settle on his waist.
He gently moves his hands up Jungkook's torso, taking his shirt upwards too, which makes Jungkook squirm and push back until his ass hits Taehyung's crotch. And then, he suddenly sits up, eyes wide. "Hyung... I can feel that you're umm, h-hard, as well."
Taehyung grabs both of his wrists in one hand, and smiles up at him, caressing his face with the other. "It would be weird if I wasn't, with you on top of me like that." Taehyung says.

Taehyung looks up at Jungkook. "Baby. You should have waited for me to..." "No, you were already tired." Jungkook shakes his head, panting, and crawling up to cuddle with Taehyung again. "I wanted to do this for you. I'm– I should clean up."
"Shh." Taehyung frowns, scolding him. "Sit right here. Let me do it." He holds Jungkook by the waist, presses a quick kiss to his lips and smiles, before getting up and heading to the bathroom.
Jungkook watches in awe and with an accelerated heartbeat as Taehyung cleans his thighs up, and offers him a change of clothes after having changed himself. Maybe this is where he completely falls for his boss, he thinks.
Taehyung comes back to bed, lying down beside him and pulling him closer so that Jungkook is pressed against his chest, face buried in Taehyung's neck. "Thank you, Jungkook. That was amazing, and very relaxing." Taehyung whispers. "You're good at it. Do you want to sleep now?"
Jungkook shakes his head. "I want to keep talking to you. And I want to k-keep holding you. I don't even want to let you go back to the office. I wish we could just cuddle like this all the time and–" "Will you date me, Jungkook?" Taehyung asks, cutting him off.
Jungkook quite literally just shuts his mouth as he hears the words, once again, his heart feeling like it's going to jump out of his chest. "Oh, wow." Of course, he wants to. "Yeah." Taehyung asks again. "Let's do this every day, without fail, from now on."
"Oh. The blowjob?" Jungkook asks, feeling shy. "Was it that good?" "Yes, it was that good." Taehyung chuckles. "But I mean, this. Us. Sleeping in each other's arms. Everyday. I would like it very much."
"Me too." Jungkook says, burying his face deeper into Taehyung's neck. "Thank you for coming into my life." Taehyung caresses his hair. "You've been the light at the end of the darkest tunnel of my life."
"Okay." Jungkook says. "Let's date, hyung. But let's not tell anyone at the office yet." "You don't want to?" Taehyung asks, threading his fingers through Jungkook's hair.
Jungkook shakes his head. "I don't want them thinking I'm doing well at work when I do, just because I'm your boyfriend." "Alright, baby." Taehyung presses a kiss to the crown of his head. "If you say so. And don't worry, at work, I'm still your boss. And I am a strict boss."
Jungkook's head perks up at that, and he presses his lips together. "Well, will a blowjob under your table work, then?" "Nope." Taehyung presses a quick kiss to his lips. "But some food accompanied with a cute note might."
And, they lived happily ever after, and got married six months later. The end!
