It’s almost been a month since Jungkook has found a Sugar Daddy for himself, he hasn’t really told his friends his name because he thinks Taehyung would appreciate it if he keeps his identity to himself.

Texting with Taehyugn has become a routine now, every morning he sends off a good morning text to the elder and a picture of himself along with it He can’t help but blush when Taehyung praises him and it’s mostly because he imagines V praising him, they have the same name after

all. Jungkook never imagined himself getting so attached to the elder but as they kept talking, Jungkook automatically started feeling this weird pull, which he hasn’t in years, to keep texting the elder.

Everything got worse when he realised that Taehyung was actually a good guy, not one of those perverted sugar daddies and had struggles of his own. When Taehyung first told him of his situation, Jungkook wasn’t sure how to react.

Surely, Taehyung had friends but he’d also said they weren’t always free like him. Jungkook understood that perfectly. His friends were always there for him but they didn’t know what it felt like to have 3 jobs at once.

So, he started talking to Taehyung about it and he’d genuinely be so happy if Taehyung found something he’d like to pursue. Today, Jungkook was going about his day as usual, he finished his morning lectures, went to waiter at the restaurant in the afternoon and came back

to uni but what Jungkook saw had him seeing red. Jungkook likes taking long routes to get to his classes. While going through this route, he passes by the volleyball court where he saw Yoongi passed out near the entrance and seven guys circling Namjoon.

The contents of Namjoon’s laptop bag were spilled on the ground and Namjoon already had a cut on his lips. Jungkook quickly called one of the faculty and told them to come to the volleyball court before quietly nearing the bushes that surrounded the wire fenced playground.

Jungkook was angry, not stupid. He knew he would get beaten up too if he were to rush in.

Once he got a clear view of the people that were surrounding Namjoon, he unlocked his phone and opened his camera. He snapped a few pictures and moved around in the bushes so that he could get all of their faces on the camera.

Right when one of the guys— Yoonbae— was about to throw a punch at Namjoon, a shout by the vice principal had them stopped in their tracks. Namjoon looked immensely relieved once he saw their vice principal and quickly escaped to go by Yoongi’s side.

Jungkook had come out of his hiding too now and raced towards his hyung. “H-Hyung what happened?” He asked Namjoon, who only sighed. “I will tell you later. Thank you for this,” the elder thanked him and Jungkook shook his head. He was going to kill those fuckers.

The vice principal comes their way after addressing those motherfucking thugs like students. “Jeon Jungkook, I would like to thank you for calling the faculty rather than taking matters into your own hands.” She says with a tight smile and then looks at Namjoon and Yoongi

on the ground. “Kim Namjoon, you will have to come with me to my office. I assume your friend can take Yoongi-sshi to the infirmary,” she says and Namjoon nods after giving Jungkoook a look.

A look that said “don’t do anything reckless until I’m back”. Did Jungkook respect Namjoon? Yes. Will he disobey this? Absolutely.

Jungkook looks back at those guys and makes eye contact with Minjae and mouths, “you’re dead” before scooping up Yoongi in his arms and going towards the infirmary. Jungkook has been told that Yoongi is perfectly fine other than a slight concussion that he might face after

waking up. His head was probably smashed against something to make him pass out but not hard enough to draw blood. The vein on Jungkook’s head is freaking sticking out like a pipe. He’s going to end that mother fucker.

He flashes a smile to the nurse and thanks her for treating Yoongi and then leaves the infirmary. Once he’s out he pulls his phone out of his pocket and gets to know where the gang was being punished.

Word travels really fast on twitter so of course Jungkook was going to use it for his benefit.

He jogs to the destination and sees the seven guys standing with an apology letter handing off their necks. Jungkook knew none of those shits meant it so he steps towards Minjae “Fucking asshole” he spits in his face and watches how his brows furrow and looks downright angry.

“Listen, you other piece of shits. If anyone gets to know about this I’m going to beat the hell out of you lot too. So, keep your mouth fucking shut.” Jungkook fumes as he makes eye contact with each of them.

He pins his gaze back to Minjae who now has a cocky smile on his face, “You don’t know what you’re doing Jung–” his words come to a halt when a fist collides with his jaw, pushing him back a step or two.

“What the fuck?” Minjae yelled, his hand coming up to touch the spot where he had been punched. It hurt. “Now, tell me why you did this. Why the fuck are you troubling Namjoon. WHY THE FUCK?” Jungkook yells.

“He’s lucky that the teacher is in the washroom right now,” Jungkook hears one of the guys say. “I’m not telling—” another punch. Minjae raises his hand to hit Jungkook but before he’s able to do so, Jungkook grips his hand and twists it. He’s holding Minjae against a wall now.

“What the actual fuck is wrong with you?” Minjae chokes out. Jungkook releases his hand at the statement, watches Minjae caress his injured hand with his other hand and turns back towards him.

“Neither Namjoon nor Yoongi care about those fucking fake apology letters you have hung around your neck, but know know that I will fucking choke you to death if you come near them one more time. Don’t fucking mess with my friends, Minjae or it will be bad for you.”

For good measure Jungkook plants a sturdy punch on the guy's stomach before leaving. He’s not sure whether he hears correctly or not but he thinks he heard a few people “ooh-ing” and whistling as he left.

When Jungkook walks into his college today, he finds people looking at him. That's unusual. He did wear his tank top today, which showed off all his tattoos but Jungkook didn't think everyone would be looking at him because of it. They didn't before.

Anyway, not paying much attention to others Jungkook continued walking to get to the locker room, when he got there he heard some people talking but seal their mouths as soon as he came in. Well, that was weird. What's going on? Does he have something on his face?

Jungkook pays no heed to them as well and just opens his lockers. He takes the necessary stuff, looks at himself in the mirror and closes his locker.

Jungkook's heart rate accelerates when he feels someone pull him out of the class again. It was Junghun, his deskmate. Jungkook is confused but follows his deskmate to the janitors closet.

"Jungkook have you heard what's going on?" Junghun asks, concern enveloping his face. He and Junghun have always been on good terms but Jungkook wouldn't call him a 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥, more of an acquaintance. "No." Is what Jungkook replies with.

Junghun shakes his head and a pinches the bridge of his nose. Now 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 is starting to worry Jungkook. Is he the poor goat this time?? "Just tell me, why are you building up this suspense?" Jungkook whines when Junghun is silent for a moment.

"Look, Jungkook, I just want to say that I respect you and whatever you do outside the school is not my business and I don't even know if it's true or if it's all made up–" "Oh god, just tell me!"

"There's a rumor going around that says that since you're broke you make money by being a camboy and offering "services" to whoever needs it." Jungkook's mouth is open in shock.

"Thank you, really," he tells his friend and dashes out of the closet. A hand comes up to his face to quickly wipe down his tears. He leaves college. He cannot do this today.

Jungkook sits on his motorcycle and leaves. He does not want to be the talk of the school. He doesn't want to be known as someone who gives up their body for money. He doesn't want those rumors to reach V...

A twenty minute ride takes Jungkook to his safe space. To the place he comes whenever he's feeling small or depressed. Whenever he feels too much his going on and he needs to take a break from life.

There is this beautiful lake which is surrounded by greenery all over. This place is hidden behind the high risers of Seoul and Jungkook is really glad he's found this place.

After parking his motorcycle, Jungkook lies on the grass and takes a deep breath. He tells himself rumors last for a week maximum and that too if other things don't come up in between.

"It will be okay, Jungkook." He tells himself and keeps his eyes closed. "We will find the fucker who started the rumor and we'll have a talk with him, for why they would say such a thing about us," Jungkook says to no one.

Jungkook's mouth is wide open when he sees V standing behind him, looking right at him. He even has his phone in his hands. This can’t be, right? V can not be his sugar daddy, right? But then why couldn’t he be. His name actually was Taehyung, and he did come from a rich family.

Jungkook remembers how V had posted a picture of him with a drawing recently. It all made sense.

V was Taehyung. V was his sugar daddy. V was the one who started a rumor about him. Did he know Jungkook all along? Did he just want to play with his feelings for fun?

Jungkook is confused and infuriated at the same time. What did any of this mean?

Jungkook takes a step back when V takes a step towards him. Jungkook thinks about the time they were on a call and how Taehyung had said comforting things to him, Jungkook’s face twists in disgust. How could someone be so two-faced?

He feels disgusted even at the thought that he took money from this guy. “Jungkook,” Taehyung calls out, pocketing his phone as he reads the last message Jungkook has sent him. His face shows that he’s confused, but that just enrages Jungkook even more.

How does he have the audacity to act like nothing happened? That just a week ago he was being called a cunt and a slut by most of his classmates.

Jungkook raises his hand as if to say “stop” and says, “do not follow me,” in the most serious voice ever and then turns on his heels and runs away from there, leaving a dumbfounded Taehyung behind.

Jungkook ran towards the cafeteria with all his might. His backpack was bumping against his back as he ran, but Jungkook didn’t care about any of that. He just kept running until he reached the cafeteria.

Once he was there, he saw Namjoon and Yoongi sitting on one of the tables, munching on a few biscuits and coffee.

Jungkook didn’t want to disturb them and he also didn’t want to tell them about the V thing right now so Jungkook leaves the cafeteria. He needs to go to his comfort place in this uni. The rooftop.

It’s prohibited for students to go there but Jungkook likes to break rules sometimes.

While walking towards one of the buildings, Jungkook can’t seem to wrap his head around this whole thing. V was Taehyung, his sugar daddy, and he told everyone that Jungkook is a camboy and offers people his “services” for money.

It was a nasty rumor. Jungkook doesn’t understand why he’d do such a thing. Taehyung complimented Jungkook every time they talked. He even sent him extra money.

Jungkook just doesn’t understand /why. Even after he helped the elder one find his passion, then WHY?

He opens his phone as he walks the flight of stairs and opens Taehyung’s chat. He scrolls up till he reaches their first text and then starts re-reading their conversation.

Finding out that V spread that rumour was hard enough on Jungkook but getting to know V is Taehyung? That hit him so much more brutally. It almost felt like a punch to his gut.

Jungkook shifts his attention back to his surroundings when he realises he’s reached the top floor. He pockets his phone and walks towards the door of the rooftop, and opens it to get inside. Jungkook breathes out in relief once he sees that the rooftop is empty.

He walks in and feels the cool air hit his face for a moment, trying to understand where it all went wrong.

When he couldn’t think of anything, Jungkook sighed and lies down on one corner on the rooftop, he’s glad that the place gets cleaned regularly. Jungkook looks at the sky for a moment. He sees clouds moving ever so slowly. He sees birds flying around, and he finds peace in that.

Jungkook has always found peace in nature.

Jungkook takes his phone out of his pocket when he feels it vibrating. Taehyung’s calling him. Jungkook declines the call and goes back to reading their chat from where he had left before.

He reads and reads, they’ve talked a lot in these past two months. They’ve talked about Taehyung, they’ve talked about him, they’ve talked hours at night talking about the most random things.

Jungkook just doesn’t understand why Taehyung would do such a thing. He is shaken out of his thoughts when someone opens the door of the rooftop, it makes a screeching noise like it always does, and Jungkook is surprised to see him. Taehyung.

Jungkook was going to yell at him and tell him that he clearly told the elder not to follow him, but he observed Taehyung’s wide eyes and understood he couldn’t possibly know that the younger was here.

“I-I didn’t know,” Taehyung says hurriedly, his eyes darting from one place to another but not looking at Jungkook. Jungkook found that weird.

“I do have something to tell you though,” he says when Jungkook doesn’t say anything. Something has change and, Taehyung doesn’t look confused like before anymore.

“We don’t have anything left to talk about.” Jungkook says firmly and sits up. “Now that you know I’m here, can you leave?” He asks the elder who simply nods his head.

Taehyung looks utterly dejected when he says, “I hope you can hear me out someday, Jungkook.” Taehyung’s look lingers on Jungkook’s face a little bit before he turns his back towards the younger and leaves the rooftop.

Jungkook found this even more weird. But why would he listen to someone who spread such a nasty rumor about him? He shouldn’t.

He wants to because of the emotions he sees in Taehyung’s eyes, but Jungkook has learned that he should take care of himself before giving others a chance. So he’s going to do just that. He’s going to focus on himself.

Jungkook thought that this would be the last time they would talk, but he couldn’t be any more wrong. Little did he know Taehyung was going to become a very big part of his life, starting now.

Taehyung is peacefully sleeping when a few knocks disturb his sleep. He curses under his breath before getting up from his bed and trudging towards the door. He finds a smiling Seokjin on the other side when he opens the door.

“Taehyung-ah, I have some good news,” Seokjin announces as he invites himself inside Taehyung’s dorm. Taehyung lazily follows his hyung to the small kitchen he has in his dorm.

“What is it, hyung?” Taehyung asks after yawning as he lightly scratches his nape. Seokjin is now taking containers out of a packet, which Taehyung hadn’t noticed before, on the container. He's still sleepy.

“I made a few extra dishes at home so thought of giving you a few so that you eat something other than ramen and kimbap for once,” Seokjin says and continues doing what he was doing.

“But hyung, I asked about the good news, not the food,” Taehyung mutters as he opens one of the containers and takes a piece of fried chicken in his hands. He was hungry, too. He had skipped lunch and stayed in his dorm since he was just not feeling like it.

Seokjin’s lips turn ‘o’ shaped before he starts speaking, “Right. I was here to tell you that I’ll be hosting a few culinary classes in SNU as a guest teacher.”

It takes a minute for Taehyung to register what Seokjin says, but when he does, Taehyung pulls Seokjin into a tight hug, his sleep all gone now. “Oh my god, congratulations hyung! I know how long you’ve been wanting to do this.”

Taehyung chirps, his smile mirroring the one Seokjin has plastered on his face. “I’m so happy today. I got the call this morning, and I’ve been dying to tell you guys, "Oh, and I’ve called Jiminie and Hobi too. They must be on their way here.” Seokjin tells him.

“Where do you keep your plates and other stuff?” He asks Taehyung, who walks towards a drawer and pulls out four sets of bowls and plates along with chopsticks. “Here.”

Taehyung smiles genuinely after a while and thinks Seokjin didn’t even know about his situation. Taehyung didn’t know whether he should tell the elder or just let it be. Taehyung decides on the latter when Jimin and Hobi come in bearing smiles and even more food in their hands.

He will tell Seokjin, but some other day. He didn’t want to make today about him, too, when Hobi and Jimin had already tried to comfort him the other day.

Taehyung regrets his decision when he enters the culinary class and sees Jungkook trying to wear an apron. What in hell was Jungkook doing here?

Oh, right. Jungkook was Seokjin’s friend too and Taehyung really should’ve told Seokjin about his fucking situation so this wouldn’t happen. Taehyung can feel Hobi and Jimin freeze by his side. He quickly turns on his heels and drags his friends outside the class.

“Listen, I know you guys want to talk to Jungkook about this whole situation, but it’s too early. It hasn’t even been a week yet,” Taehyung says. He can already see the disapproval in his friends eyes, but he continues speaking, “I think I should give him some time.

He’s probably too overwhelmed right now and can’t make sense of what’s right and wrong.”

It’s silent for a minute as Hobi and Jimin think, but it’s Jimin who breaks the silence. “Fine. One week is all I’m giving him, but if he still doesn’t text you first, Taehyung, I’m telling you I will take your phone and text him. Do you get me?”

Taehyung nods wordlessly. “Taehyung-ah, I really think you should talk to him before he starts thinking that you’re actually the one who spread that rumor.” Hobi says, and Jimin nods his head, muttering a soft “yeah right”.

“I wanted to, hyung. Of course I wanted to, but he won’t even let me speak. What am I supposed to do in this situation?” Taehyung felt tears forming, but as soon as he felt them, he tipped his head upwards so they wouldn't fall. He didn’t want to cry right now.

“You can text him.” Jimin says, and Taehyung sighs. “You really think he wouldn’t have blocked me by now?” The chuckle that leaves Taehyung’s mouth doesn’t have the same cheerful sound in it like it usually does, and Taehyung feels pathetic.

It’s just been two months since he and Jungkook started talking. He doesn’t know why he’s feeling so helpless and just… heartbroken.

Many people have come to his life and left as per their own wishes, sometimes after using Taehyung for his money, sometimes for his status and sometimes after playing with his feelings, but Taehyung knows better now. Taehyung knows not to let people get too close.

Then how and when did Jungkook get so close to him that it hurt his heart so much at the thought that the younger one might never talk to him again?

“So that means you haven’t tried texting him?” Hobi asks, completely missing Taehyung’s point. “I haven’t,” Taehyung replies with a sigh and tries to push his thoughts to the back of his mind.

“Then, you’re gonna do it, Taehyung-ah. Today after this class." Hobi says, and Taehyung has to nod. "Fine, let's go in now?" Taehyung asks and gets simultaneous nods by both of his friends.

Jungkook thinks he is a little stupid. He doesn't know why he accepted to come to this class when he already knew Seokjin was friends with Taehyung.

Actually, he does know why. He wanted to support his hyung. But he never thought it would end up with him being in the same room with the person who started such a nasty rumour about him.

Jungkook notices the way Taehyung drags his friends out of the class to talk to them about something, and he feels something twist in his stomach. He doesn't know why.

"Hey, if you don't want to do this, you can tell Seokjin hyung, and I'm sure he'll let us go," Namjoon whispers into his ear, and Jungkook sighs. "It's not like I can avoid him forever. It's fine, hyung," Jungkook tells him, trying to keep his calm.

Jungkook knows he's not letting his true emotions show but his brain is working 24/7, thinking about those tweets he came across, the faint whispers he heard and still hears in the corridors sometimes.

He knows he shouldn't care what people think of him, but how can he not care when people are thinking wrongly of him? When people are thinking of him, which he is actually the opposite of?

Is this the punishment that God is giving him for accepting money from a stranger?

Jungkook is shook out of his thoughts when Taehyung strides back inside the class with Jimin and Hoseok in tow.

Jungkook's mind tells him to put on a smile, to not let things get awkward and to behave because today is not about him, it's about Seokjin hyung but Jungkook’s hurting heart conflicts those thoughts as Jungkook's lips remain shut in a thin line.

"Hi everyone, I'm Kim Seokjin, and I'm going to take your culinary class for today. Since you have signed up for this class, you will need to attend two more classes for this mini course to end," Seokjin says with an enthusiastic smile that warms up Jungkook's heart.

"Let's do an introduction session for the first 10 minutes so that we're all comfortable with each other?" Seokjin asks once everyone is done clapping their hands at his introduction.

Jungkook feels like laughing. None of them are going to get along and get comfortable with each other, but he can't say that to Seokjin.

"I'll start!" Jungkook turns his head to look at Hoseok, who has his hand raised up in the air, as if asking for permission to speak any further. "We aren't in school anymore hobi hyung," Jimin deadpans, which made Taehyung, Seokjin, and Hoseok laugh.

Jungkook finds none of it funny, and from the looks of it, neither do Namjoon and Yoongi. Seokjin has a confused look plastered on his face when he turns to look at Jungkook.

"Who spat on your cereal today?" He asks, and Jungkook just shrugs. "Didn't get proper sleep, sorry, hyung," he says. "Anyway, moving forward, you please introduce yourself," Seokjin says as he points at Hoseok.

"Hello everyone," Hoseok starts, facing Jungkook and his friends, "My name is Jung Hoseok, and I am from the Humanities department and doing my majors in dancing! People like to call me Hobi!"

He looks nothing but excited about this whole thing and Jungkook actually envies him for that.

Jungkook gives the elder a curt bow and a smile. So do Yoongi and Namjoon. They go on like that, after Hobi, Jimin introduces himself and then Taehyung to which Jungkook can’t help but roll his eyes.

When it’s his own turn, all Jungkook does is say his name. Namjoon and Yoongi give a good introduction, probably to charm Seokjin.

“Alright, I will divide you guys in two teams since working and learning like that would be easier,” Seokjin says before he goes behind the counter to pull out a glass bowl with chits in it. Jungkook feels like groaning, but he goes forward and picks a chit when Seokjin tells him

to. The universe must hate him, Jungkook thinks, because he is paired with Taehyung and Jimin. They’re in team A, and Yoongi and Namjoon are in a team with Hobi in team B.

“So, there will not be much of actual cooking today because this is going to be a basics class. I will first teach you guys how to hold a knife properly and do other simple things like making an omelet and stuff. Both teams have to show teamwork and help each other out when

needed." Jungkook contemplates faking an upset stomach and running the hell out of here, but he endures it. This class will only last for an hour and a half anyway. Jungkook will be free then.

With those thoughts, he goes and shakes hands with Jimin and gives him a tight smile. “Let’s do well,” he says to him but does not greet Taehyung. Taehyung doesn’t reach out to him as well.

Ten minutes into the class and everyone hears a scream coming from Team A. Jungkook’s eyes go wide when he sees a little blood come out from the side of Taehyung’s finger.

“What the fuck,” he curses out loud before rushing to the elders side and grabbing his wrist to drag him to the wash basin. He quickly turns the water on and puts Taehyung’s injured finger under the steady stream of water.

It’s when he looks into Taehyung’s teary eyes that he realises what he’s doing. He lets go of his hand the next moment.

“Why did you come here if you don’t even know how to cut a fucking onion?” Jungkook spat at the elder before going back to his place and resuming his work.

Little did Jungkook know the reason behind Taehyung’s teary eyes.

After that, Jungkook only made snide remarks whenever Taehyung did something wrong. But Taehyung was okay with it. Taehyung had hope to cling onto now. Taehyung knew Jungkook cared.

Taehyung was unsure about texting the younger one at first, but now he was definitely going to do it. He knew that Jungkook might not listen to him again or that he might have already blocked him like he thought, but Taehyung had hope now, so won’t back off.

“Shit ass, can’t you peel a potato properly?” Jungkook’s voice brings him back to reality, and he sees he’s peeled the potato much more than needed. Jungkook’s insult has no bite in it, and regardless of how rude it sounds, it puts a smile on Taehyung’s face.

“I’m sorry, I’ll do it properly,” Taehyung says and takes another potato and starts peeling it nicely. When he hears a satisfied grunt from Jungkook, he can’t stop the sides of his lips curving upwards.

“Hey Tae, isn’t he being too rude?” Jimin asks him when Jungkook goes to the other side to wash a few utensils. Taehyung takes in the concerned and slightly angry expression, which covers his best friend’s face.

“Don’t worry, Jiminie, he doesn’t mean it. I know him that much,” Taehyung tries to reassure him, but Jimin is not buying it, his face still adorning the frown he had before.

Taehyung leaves the potato and the peeler on the counter and cups Jimin’s cheeks, “Trust me on this, chim?” He asks. Jimin takes a moment but finally nods his head. “I just don’t want you getting hurt, Taehyungie,” he says, his voice low, but Taehyung

knows because they’ve shared several such moments together. Being each other’s comfort. “I know, I won’t get hurt, trust me,” Taehyung says with a smile but flinches when someone taps on his back.

“This isn’t the time to make out with your boyfriend, V-sshi. We still have to finish making the potato wedges.” It’s Jungkook. And his face is kind of red. Taehyung likes it.

Jungkook sighs as he deletes Twitter from his phone. He was currently going to his art history class, and another sigh leaves his mouth when he realises it’s the class which he shares with Taehyung, aka V.

Another reason why Jungkook didn’t like this whole situation was how could Taehyung not know Jungkook when they literally shared a class? Or, did Taehyung know that, too? Ugh, Jungkook physically can’t stop overthinking. He hates himself for it.

When Jungkook enters the class, he sees Taehyung sitting at the very last bench, he is wearing a beige coloured dress coat over a white shirt and his face is covered till his nose with a white mask.

Their eyes meet for a second, and Jungkook realises the other’s eyes look a little swollen. Jungkook wants to ask him if everything is alright, but his self-respect makes him scoff and sit as far from Taehyung as possible.

Ten minutes into the lecture, Jungkook traces his tattoos as he tries to pay attention to his lecture, but his mind keeps going towards Taehyung’s swollen eyes. He has always liked Taehyung’s eyes.

They looked so imperfectly perfect, Jungkook used to wonder what it would be like to have Taehyung’s eyes on him.

Jungkook turns his head to take a peek at Taehyung but finds the elder already looking at him. He raises his eyebrows as if to ask “what do you want”, Taehyung just flashes him a soft smile and shakes his head.

Jungkook finds it weird. Very weird. He turns his head towards the projector again. Why was Taehyung looking at him? Why was Taehyung giving him attention? Why isn’t Taehyung targeting his next dupe? Something is fishy.

Jungkook remembers how Taehyung had wanted to talk to him about something. Jungkook also remembers being so aggravated that he didn’t want an explanation at all.

He is still furious, he is still beyond hurt, and he still doesn’t know what to do with his life, but Jungkook wants an explanation now. He wants to know if there was /anything/ he did to deserve this. He thinks about Taehyung’s swollen eyes again.

Was Taehyung crying? Why was Taehyung crying?

Jungkook shakes his head. He had just promised himself he was going to look after himself for once. So, he’s going to do just that. Taehyung has friends who worry about him. They’ll take care of him. He doesn’t need to worry.

He shouldn’t worry about Taehyung anyway.

"What do you think they're gonna say?" Namjoon asks Yoongi as they wait for Jimin and Hobi inside the decided cafe.

Yoongi shrugs, "I don't know. To be honest, I don't even know what to believe at this point, Jimin said that V didn't spread that rumor but everyone else is saying otherwise."

Namjoon sighs, "I just want all of this to be over. Jungkook doesn’t deserve one bit of it." "He doesn't."

A few minutes pass by with idle talks between the couple before Jimin and Hobi finally enter the cafe.

They take a seat in front of the couple, and Jimin starts without wasting any more time, "I will get to the point directly."

"Taehyung isn't the one who spread that rumor about Jungkook. We did not approach Jungkook because Taehyung told us he will give Jungkook a week to calm down and realize this on his ow—" "Jimin–" "Let me speak first, please." "Fine."

"Yeah, so we tried to actually find out who spread those rumors, and now we know who. So, we thought it would be best to let the two of you know so that you can tell Jungkook about it."

"Taehyung is a person who doesn't trust people easily, and over these two months, he has come to trust Jungkook incredibly, so Jungkook treating him this was is affecting him a lot."

"And I know that jungkook is probably hurting more than Taehyung because of the rumor and because he thinks Taehyung broke his trust but he's mistaken about that and telling him that will make both of them feel better."

Jimin knows that the mood is very tense, but he still thinks that not letting anyone speak before he's done speaking would be the best, so he continues. He takes out his phone and opens minjae's chat before speaking again.

"Here's texts between me and Minjae. It was Junghun who spread that rumor about Jungkook." He hears Yoongi gasp.

"What? Why would he do that—" Namjoon asks, his face showing his confusion. Jimin opens his text thread with Hana and gives his phone to the couple. "Fuck." Yoongi says.

"What?" Namjoon asks Yoongi when he sees the expression on his boyfriend’s face. "I'll tell you about it later, Joon." Yoongi sighs and gives the phone back to Jimin.

"So, this is basically all because of me," Yoongi concludes and a frown takes over Namjoon's face.

"Hey, I don't know why that asshole Minjae was after you guy's ass but Yoongi-ssi, it's not your fault," Hobi says. "It /is/ my fault, but you wouldn't know." Yoongi says and gets up from his seat.

"Thank you for showing us this. We'll talk to Jungkook." Yoongi says and starts to leave, not before tugging at Namjoon's arm, who still looks confused.

"You're telling me that Taehyung isn't the one who spread the rumor," Jungkook asks in disbelief after listening to what Yoongi and Namjoon had to tell him.

Yoongi nods, but there's this expression on his face, which Jungkook can't quite decipher. Namjoon looks a little confused about something as well. "And you're saying that Junghun was the one who did this?"

Wow. Jungkook had thought that Junghun was a decent person, but the world isn't black and white, he realises. People can be nice to him on his face but betray him behind his back. A chuckle leaves his lips.

All of it hits Jungkook like a brick. Heavy and crushing his soul. He tormented Taehyung so much over nothing.

"And I, I just said all of those mean things to Taehyung without him having any part in all of this bullshit," Jungkook's voice is starting to break a little now.

"Jungkook, it's not your fault," Namjoon tried, but his mouth didn't open when Jungkook looked at him with teary eyes. "He told me to hear him out, you know?" Tears are falling down his cheeks now.

"But you know what I did? I told him to go away, and then I blocked him. I disrespected him in the cooking class too, I am such a bad person," he says in between hiccups.

"I treated him like shit when he didn't deserve it." Both Namjoon and Yoongi can't do anything but listen to their friend. Once Jungkook has calmed down, they both give him a tight hug and tell him once again that it wasn't his fault.

How could he know? "I don't know. He deserves so much better in life, especially after telling me, trusting me with his private things, and I do this to him." Jungkook keeps going on for an hour like that.

"Jungkook, you can still make things right, you can apologize to him and you can make it up to him. I'm sure he wants that too," Yoongi speaks up when Jungkook finally stops crying.

"I don't deserve him, hyung. I don't deserve his forgiveness." "That's not your choice." Namjoon states sternly, remembering how Jimin told them about Taehyung hurting because of all this.

"Don't you think you owe him an apology regardless of everything else?" Yoongi asks. Jungkook is silent for a moment, contemplating.

Then he stands up from the chair he was sitting on and walks towards the dining table.

"All I will do is apologize to him. I don't deserve to be anything more to him." He says as he unlocks his phone and unblocks Taehyung’s contact before sending him a "hi".

“Jungkook, are you listening?” Yoongi questions, and Jungkook hurriedly locks his phone and keeps it at the table, turning all his attention to Yoongi.

“Like I told Namjoon today, in front of Jimin and Hobi, I am at fault for all of this and I am dumb to not realise this soon enough,” Yoongi says, his gaze pinned down to the floor and Jungkook is all sorts of confused. By the looks of it, Namjoon is too.

“I don’t understand, hyung. What do you mean by that?” Yoongi looks at him and then at Namjoon, after which he sighs. “Well, you know how the person who spread that rumor is Junghun?” “Yeah? What about him?” Namjoon asks.

“In the first year of uni, when I hadn’t met Namjoonie, that Junghun guy used to follow me around,” Yoongi explains, “Wait, isn’t Junghun in my grade though?” Jungkook asks, interrupting the elder.

“He failed three times, that’s why he’s just reached your class,” Yoongi says, and both Namjoon and Jungkook’s mouths form an ‘o’ shape. “He’s actually a year older than me, but since his dad is the headmaster, he doesn’t give shit about things, and he’s actually very well off.”

“But what does that have to do with all of this?” Namjoon asks, confusion still present on his face.

“So, as I just said, he used to follow me around. Now, you guys know I don’t open up easily, so one day I told him that I needed some space, that I wasn’t feeling quite comfortable with how he was behind every step of mine.

But instead of respecting my wishes, he went ahead and told me that he liked me.” Yoongi’s face twisted with disgust as he prepared to say the next words.

“I rejected him quite politely, but that fucker just said that he knew I’d fall for him eventually and kept following me around. I think a better word for that would be stalking.

Anyway, complained to the staff and he stopped, at least I thought so, but I’m sure he was doing that shit to Joonie because of me and since you got in a fight with one of his guys, you got roped in too.” Yoongi’s voice was wavering now. His eyes were glossy.

“It is not your fault hyung, not at all and I’m so fucking mad right now I could kill that motherfucker, pretended to be my friend and shit, oh god, I’m so disgusted right now,” The vein that has popped up in Jungkook forehead shows how angry he actually is.

Jungkook sees the way Namjoon just envelops Yoongi in a hug, without uttering a word, usually he would make gagging noises but today Jungkook understands the seriousness of the situation and lets them be.

“Hyung, you did nothing wrong. It’s not your fault. I love you, okay? And I going to get that fucking Junghun transferred the fuck out of this university.” Namjoon whispers but it’s loud enough that Jungkook can hear it too and it really warms his heart.

“It was just, it was in the past, so I never bothered telling you guys, now I think I should’ve. I feel really bad,” Yoongi mutters. “You didn’t know this would happen, hyung. It’s ok. None of us blame you. Especially me” Jungkook says and takes Yoongi’s hands in his own.

He knows how much Yoongi likes holding hands. “What about V? What did he say?” Yoongi says, trying to blink his tears away. Jungkook sighs.
