Jungkook runs without knowing where he is going. It's like his feet are on their own and is taking directions on its own. He just knows that it hurts. Even after two years, it just hurts the same way as it did the first time.

That face, the moles, those eyes, nothing but hurt wrapped in beauty. The invitation to Jungkook’s pain, which never left him in the first place. He wipes his eyes when his eyes start to get blurry, cursing himself for not being strong enough. But it wasn’t his fault.

Nobody ever taught him how to hate. All he ever did was love. Love without wanting anything in return. Love so selflessly. Love that seeks good in everything and everyone.

So, now it all hurts. It hurts because for Jᴜɴɢᴋᴏᴏᴋ, love is Tᴀᴇʜʏᴜɴɢ and Tᴀᴇʜʏᴜɴɢ hurts. The thought of Tᴀᴇʜʏᴜɴɢ hurts. The knowledge that Tᴀᴇʜʏᴜɴɢ will never be his, hurts. The realisation that Tᴀᴇʜʏᴜɴɢ will never want him the same way, hurts.

He almost takes another step towards an unknown direction, before someone’s arms holds his wrist and stops him in his tracks. “Gukkie plea-” “Don't dare to touch me!!!” Jᴜɴɢᴋᴏᴏᴋ thunders.

He doesn’t turn to look at Taehyung, hoping that Taehyung will back out. And also because he doesn’t trust his own face. He doesn’t want Taehyung to know how much power the latter still has on him.

Taehyung rounds him and looks at his face. Jungkook’s eyes are downcast and he still doesn’t dare to look at Taehyung’s face.

“Jungkook please…” Taehyung says, voice coming out choked. It hurts Jungkook everywhere. “Just-” Taehyung tries to form his words but they somehow fail him. He desperately moves on his feet, not knowing what to say and how to say it. “I-”

“Leave me alone!” Jungkook says, firmly but somehow his resolve starts breaking. He dreads a conversation and the need to sleep overpowers his senses. Somehow, there is a feeling inside him that all that is happening is just some nightmare-

-and everything will go back to how it was when he wakes up the next morning. After all, Taehyung is a dream that Jungkook dreamt long enough for it to turn into his nightmare.

“Jungkook, I- please…” Taehyung wipes his own tears. He doesn’t know why he is crying. Is it because he saw the latter after two whole years or because he wonders if it is all just something he made in his mind and it will end.

He will never see Jungkook again. So real so real it scares him. “I need to go…” Jungkook tries to move past Tae but Tae once again stops him. He holds Jungkook’s arms as if his life depends on it.

“I want you back… Jungkook I lo-” Taehyung stops when Jungkook looks at him, eyes blood red.

“Do not. Do not dare to say what you are about to say, Taehyung.” He says in a warning tone. “Besides that-” Jungkook looks around them and then his eyes are back on Taehyung. “I don’t think a big actor like you should be seen with a stranger at such an hour. Go back before-

-anyone spots you and you adore the front pages of those gossip magazines.” “You are not just a stranger…” Taehyung says, voice low and Jungkook wouldn’t have heard his next words if he and Tae weren’t standing so close. “I don’t care about them…”

Jungkook snorts the response. At the insecurity in those words. They were said so cautiously like it was meant to be a secret or something. It once again reminded Jungkook that he was just Taehyung’s secret and nothing else.

“We are just strangers, Taehyung.” Jungkook says, forcing Taehyung to look at him. ‘You are not the man I fell in love with… You are not my Taehyung… You are just the one who left me broken…’

“I have nothing to do with you and I would like it if it is kept that way only. I don’t want to wake up tomorrow morning and have cameras shoved over my face just because I was seen with someone famous! Or worse, addressed as your one night stand. So,

just save your time and mine and leave me alone!” If Jungkook wanted those words to have an impact on Taehyung then it did. If he wanted to create a wound then he created a scar in Taehyung.

A scar that Taehyung hid for so long that he himself wonders if it’s still there. The one that bleeds every single night even after days have passed.

Taehyung stares at Jungkook, memorising his face because he doesn’t know what he can say to the younger. He doesn’t know how he can stop Jungkook from leaving his life again or if there is something for him to say that can prove his point because-

-he himself doesn’t know what he wants. Because everything is the same. It will still affect Taehyung’s image if he is seen with Jungkook. It will still be him not being able to give his hundred percent to their relationship. Everything is the same as it was 2 years ago.

Taehyung didn’t stop Jungkook from leaving his life then, then how can he do it now when it is still the same. So, he lets go of Jungkook’s arm and takes a step back creating a distance between them.

Taehyung’s eyes are not on Jungkook when he says, “I’m sorry… I shouldn’t have said that. You-” He takes a deep breath before saying, “I will leave you alone. Sorry, for wasting your time…” He doesn’t wait for Jungkook’s answer before he leaves.

Jungkook looks at the leaving figure, his body suddenly letting go of all the warmth and the feeling of sleepiness giving way to freezing cold. He looked at the man who gave him the sense of warmth and then packed his bags and left with it.

Jungkook sees his comfort walking away from him. He turns around and leaves, wiping the fresh set of tears rolling down from his cheeks. Taehyung sobs loudly through his way to the parking lot, doing nothing to hide his crying face.

It was not right when Taehyung said everything was the same. For it changed in a way that if earlier it was Jungkook who walked out of the relationship they both shared. Now, it was Taehyung who locked the already closed doors.
