Senior Lieutenant at Russian FSB Counterintelligence defected to Europe. Emran #Navruzbekbekov was sent to Turkey & Syria for an operation against Russian citizens wanted by Putin. Instead, he used the opportunity to flee to Europe with receipts & asked for political asylum.
The liquor store bombings in Makhachkala were all executed by the FSB, to be blamed on Muslims. The FSB used such terror attacks to extort protection money from business owners. Reporting at the time completely fell for this, blaming "Islamic insurgents."

Emran says the 2nd Service of the FSB essentially controls all criminal activities in Dagestan and Chechnya.
The FSB kidnaps, tortures, & extorts successful businessmen & others who can pay a ransom. The FSB has their own torture chambers across the region for this purpose.
How the FSB executes "suicide bomber" terror attacks which are then blamed on "Islamic militants":
Emran's boss in the 2nd Service of the FSB, Aman Ibrahimov and also Artur Isayev would kidnap locals and plant bombs in their cars unbeknownst to the kidnapped person.
The FSB would then release the person and detonate the car bombs at the time of their choosing with the released occupant in the car - this is the system of "suicide terror bombings" in Dagestan.

Emran's boss Omar Ibrahimov, was the FSB chief for the territory of the city of #Kaspiysk in Dagestan, right next to the capital Makhachkala, as well as the of deputy in the Antiterrorism Committee in the city. Isayev was in the military counterintelligence of the FSB.
FSB terrorism against the Caucuses is highly profitable first and foremost to the Kremlin and the central apparatus of the FSB according to Emran.
Every crime committed resulted in big money.
FSB to this day sends agents to the Caucuses, usually big buff muscular men with beards - paid hourly. They recruit the youth into their "movements" against the government. Then at the last moment, the bearded agents disappear and the recruited youth are all murdered by the FSB.
Magomed #Vagabov's FSB identification showed the rank of Lt. Colonel. Emran was also separately assured that Vagabov worked for the FSB.
Vagabov went on to plan the 2010 Moscow Metro Bombing attacks, which killed 40 people and injured 100+.

After the March 2010 Moscow Metro Bombing, FSB Lt. Colonel Magomed Vagabov outlived his usefulness for the Kremlin, and the FSB assassinated him in Dagestan several months later in August 2010.

FSB to this day sends agents to the Caucuses, usually big buff muscular men with beards - paid hourly. They recruit the youth into their "movements" against the government. Then at the last moment, the bearded agents disappear and the recruited youth are all murdered by the FSB.
The bearded FSB muscle would recruit the youth, drug them, and stick them in basements until their beards would grow out. Then distribute the "Islamic extremist" recruits into various lodgings which were then raided by the authorities.
In this FSB scheme of recruiting Dagestani youth to then murder them as part of "Anti-Terrorist Operations," law enforcement investigators had even found the same exact machine gun at multiple scenes, as it was reused and placed there by the FSB.
When the prepared lodgings of the recruited & drugged Dagestani youths are raided by the FSB, sappers first detonate bombs and grenades to kill these planted "extremists," then the FSB orchestrates a shootout into the lodging for the arriving media and local law enforcement.
In 2013 in Kaspiysk, on FSB's orders, two different law enforcement officers planted drugs to incriminate Zyava, a Moscow thief-in-law. Zyava lived in Moscow at the time but came to visit his ill mother in Dagestan. Released in 2017. Then imprisoned again from 2019.
Emran personally saw and spoke with Zyava upon his initial arrest in his cell. Emran says he felt bad for Zyava, but was totally powerless to do anything. The drugs were planted on Zyava right at the police department after he was arrested on the FSB's orders.
Apparently Zyava was from the old generation of thiefs-in-law and acted according to some principles. Someone from Moscow called the FSB in Kaspiysk knowing that Zyava is there and asked to take care of him, so the local FSB complied.
Emran says the FSB is structured based on "everyone for himself." When he was given the assignment to go to Syria the first time and refused, his superior suggested to Emran that some grenades may get found in his home if he doesn't go. That was December 21st, 2016.
Emran has been active in his counterintelligence role in Syria and Turkey through the years. This time in 2022 when he was being sent abroad again, he opted to escape to Europe instead. He was sent with his partner, who did make it to Syria, but is unaware of the current status.
Emran says that planting of drugs and weapons in order to arrest innocent people in Russia is extremely common. Not just FSB, but even at the level local police and traffic police.
BODIES OF DECEASED FOR MONEY SCHEME:
Dagestan's Deputy Interior Minister, Vasily #Salyutin & Deputy Head of Investigative Committee for the North Caucasus, Col. Igor #Sobol charged the relatives of those murdered by the FSB 1 million rubles to recover the bodies for funerals.
In Makhachkala, there's a morgue attached to a hospital near the OMON-1 base. OMON is riot police. The bodies of people like the FSB-recruited & FSB-murdered "extremist" youths would be sent to this morgue and OMON were put in charge of security of the morgue.
Salyutin & Sobol then used the FSB to transport the bodies of the deceased to the relatives for the price of 1 million rubles. For reference, in 2010, 1 million rubles was ~$33,000 USD.
The Russian government mafia first recruited Dagestani youth via FSB to play the role of "extremists," drugged them and grew out their beards over months in basements, then executed and blew them up as part of "anti-terrorist operation," then charged relatives $33k for bodies.
Emran was to be first sent to #Turkey and infiltrate a group of Russians on the wanted list. Once he was successful in making contact, he was to report back to HQ. The "wanted" Russians were those recruited by the FSB to commit "extremist" terror attacks in #Syria.
Usually, such brain-washed recruits do not survive for long in Syria. However, some who survive tend to escape abroad, such as to Turkey. They are a liability for the FSB, so the FSB then sends assassins to get rid of them in other countries.
Emran instead chose to flee to Europe and ask for political asylum because
1) He did not want to participate in such a mission
2) He understood he may not be able to come out of the FSB alive afterward.
3) People like him will never be allowed to "retire" from the FSB.
Prior to fleeing to Europe, Emran was a counterintelligence officer in the FSB with a rank of Senior Lieutenant.
Emran understands that his life is at risk as a result of going public now, but says "those who do not risk do not get to drink Champagne."
Emran is against the Russian war in #Ukraine.
CORRECTION: Emran appears to have fled to Europe prior to 2018.
Thereafter, he was contacted by Russian security services including the FSB and SVR and they attempted to recruit him back while he was already living in Europe, suggesting that they somehow knew that he did not disclose any state secrets during his debriefing when he defected.
In 2018, Emran received a call, while already in Europe, & asked to meet at the Russian Embassy. He refused to meet at the embassy but did agree to meet elsewhere. He was told he is to meet with Maxim Yevgenevich Gubernov, an alleged FSB officer.
But it turned out that Gubernov was a Colonel in the SVR (Foreign Intel Service) undercover in the Russian Embassy. Vladimir Vladimirovich Vesnin from the Embassy was also present as well as Butkov - assistant to the military attaché.
Emran recorded all of his interactions with the Russian security services and the Russian Embassy in the European country. They attempted pretty extensively to recruit him back and setup a method of communications.
Emran was to call the Russian Embassy after the completion of each assignment and say "Does Magomedov work here?" to which he will receive a response that "No, he does not." And 10 minutes later he would receive a call from Maxim Gubernov, the SVR Colonel.
Instead of completing the assignments from the SVR, Emran would feed Gubernov disinformation. He claims to have recorded all interactions and was doing this with the knowledge of the European intelligence service where he holds the status of political asylum.
SVR attempted to verify that Emran is not a double-agent but he was successful at feeding them ironclad disinformation that was swallowed whole.
Vympel special forces are in the 3rd Department of the 4th Directorate of the Special Purpose Center of the FSB.
Emran understood that by attempting to recruit him to commit criminal acts in Europe, SVR would then be able to use that to discredit him with his host country and force deportation back to Russia.
Emran played along as the Russian Embassy was playing nice in the deception while feeding intel to the European host nation's intel services and feeding disinformation to his Russian security service handlers.
Given that Emran has gone public for the first time today, I imagine the situation may change drastically. However, he does appear prepared and versed in these spy games.
