11:11 #taekookau [a/b/o] Taehyung watches Namjoon, his brother, and his friends play in the backyard. Their shouts reaching him in his room. With curious eyes, he grasps onto the curtain, peeking to see that one friend. Jeon Jungkook. Taehyung's crush since high school.

Jin is the eldest (24) Namjoon, Yoongi, Hoseok, Jungkook are same age (23) Taehyung and Jimin are the youngest (20)
=== “I can't believe I lost,” Jungkook slams Namjoon with the ball, “it's all your fault, man! I was blocking Hobi, but you still couldn't get the basket!” “Yoongi was hard to dodge, okay?” Namjoon pouts, looking at his boyfriend, “babe, you saw, right?” Jin smiles, “I did.”
Jungkook rolls his eyes, sitting down on the couch. Namjoon sits beside him. “Tae!” Jimin walks in, hollering, “where are you? We need to leave before-” the omega goes quiet when he walks into the living room and sees Namjoon's friends, “oh.” Namjoon smiles, “Mimi, come in.”
Jimin fidgets, “uhhh, can you call Tae?” he looks at the staircase helplessly, “we need to leave.” Namjoon frowns, “where are you two going? It's just afternoon.” Jimin grasps the strap of his bag, “movies? We have plans for the movies. I just got the ticket.”
“The theatre showing cartoons now?” Yoongi quips from where he sits, sipping his beer, “damn, this town.” Jungkook bites back a laugh while Jimin gracefully ignores the jab. Namjoon gives Yoongi a pointed glare before walking towards the stairs, “Tae! Mimi is here!”
Taehyung swallows, making sure he is looking good before he walks down the stairs. With his eyes fixed on Jimin, smiles. He can feel eyes on him, making his face heat up. “When's the movie starting?” Jin asks, “you all can stay for lunch before leaving. No?” Taehyung winces.
Jimin shares a look with him before they both are turning to Jin. “No,” Taehyung coughs, “the movie will start-” “In an hour,” Jungkook answers for him, getting up from his seat to walk up to Taehyung, “I think the Townhill's schedule never changed. No?”
Taehyung refuses to look at the alpha. He refuses to turn and face the man in fear that Jungkook might notice the effect he has on Taehyung. Taehyung tries his hard to never interact with the man. Does his best to keep a distance. He turns to Jin instead. “We really need to le-”
A palm coming to rest on his lower hip makes Taehyung jump. “Sit and have some lunch,” Jungkook's voice is rough, “don't be a brat.” Taehyung bites down on his lower lip, finally looking at the alpha, “this is my house. Who are you to order me? I can come and go as I please.”
Nails dig in his hips, Jungkook arches a brow. There is something teasing in those eyes. “I am your brother's friend,” Jungkook leans in, voice an octave lower, “why? Would you want me to be something else to you?” Taehyung swiftly moves away, “we can have some quick lunch.”
Jimin helplessly looks at him, expression desperate. Taehyung shakes his head, making a face. “I will wait outside,” Jimin points over his shoulder, “just come out when you are ready.” “Now, was that pun intended?” Yoongi asks, “because, it sounded like it.” Hoseok swats him.
Taehyung looks at Jimin with pleading eyes, “come on. Sit with me!” Jimin looks like he would rather get run over by a truck than walk in and spend time among these alphas. Taehyung walks up to him, “you are coming in,” he hisses. Jimin curses, “I hate your brother's friends!”
Taehyung drags Jimin over to the stool, “hyung, give us something quick.” Jin is staying over because Taehyung and Namjoon's parents went on a trip for the holiday. When they come back, the vacation will be way over anyway. Jin holds out two plates for Jimin and Taehyung.
Taehyung hurries to eat, shoving more than he can chew in his mouth. Jungkook waltzes inside the kitchen, getting a beer from the fridge as if he lives here. Taehyung glares at the alpha and when Jungkook catches his eyes, the alpha smirks. Jungkook loves teasing Taehyung.
Since childhood, their dynamic never changed. Taehyung grew up interested in the alpha, and it made him do everything to keep his distance from Jungkook. On the other hand, Jungkook always saw him as his friend's shy brother who grew up to be the prettiest omega he has ever seen.
Jungkook comes to stand beside Taehyung, leaning against the counter. Jin is busy making lunch for the others. Namjoon, Hoseok and Yoongi are discussing about a fest. Jimin is busy in his phone. Taehyung eats silently. “Where are you going?” Jungkook murmurs, “don't lie.”
Taehyung swallows the food and shrugs, “movies.” Jungkook's eyes trail over him, “I told you not to lie.” Taehyung grips the fork, his eyes snapping to Jungkook, “and, I always told you to mind your business. Did I not?” Jungkook's lips twitch, “I am doing just that.”
The alpha leans in, “you are my business, no?” his voice dips, “what would Namjoon think if something happens to you? I have to make sure you are fine.” Taehyung hates how his heart speeds up, beating against his ribcage. He looks down at the plate. Not entertaining the alpha.
After they are done, Taehyung and Jimin stand up, wiping their mouths. “When are you coming back?” Namjoon asks, “we were planning-” “I am not coming back,” Taehyung waves his hand dismissively, “I will stay with mimi.” Jimin nods, hurrying, “bye, hyung. Thanks, Jin hyung!”
As soon as they are in Jimin's car, they both let out a deep breath. “We are finally free!” Jimin curses, looking at Taehyung with a giddy smile, “now, movies and then clubs! We are finally of age, can buy drinks and have fun!” Taehyung giggles, “now, hurry up!”
Taehyung feels his heart skip beats in excitement and a little anxiety of the unknown. The club they are in line for is popular in the town. He looks at Jimin and smiles when Jimin grins at him. Taehyung breathes out, scolding himself for worrying too much for no reason.
The club is crowded. Taehyung grips Jimin's hand as they walk inside. His eyes roam over the dance floor. Dimly lit. People are crowding there, pressed against each other. The booths are filled to the brim with groups of people. Too many scents in the closed place.
“Shots?” Jimin asks, shouts over the music, “I don't know the names of many drinks. I have heard shots!” “What is the shot made of?” Taehyung wonders, following Jimin nonetheless. Jimin gives him a look, “you idiot, shot is the serving! You can have any shot.”
Taehyung takes the shot glass in his hand and curiously sniffs it. Jimin makes a face at it too, dipping the tip of his tongue in the liquid and winching. “Yeah, it's disgusting,” Jimin nods, “just quickly get it over with!” Taehyung does and coughs, eyes burning, “eww!”
Jimin slaps his thigh, shaking his head, “why does everyone like this?! It burns!” Taehyung agrees, blinking back tears, “can we have something sweet?!” Jimin blinks at him, “I don't know any drink or their names or which ones are sweet, Tae!” They both stare at each other.
Taehyung laughs when Jimin pulls out his phone, “can't believe we are goggling drinks!” Jimin snorts, searching already, “you gotta do what you gotta do!” They both loom over the screen with fascination.
“I will have a cosmopolitan,” Taehyung decides. Jimin nods, “Piña colada for me.” They both let out a sigh of relief when the drinks come, and they somewhat like it. Jimin is looking over at the dance floor, the straw bitten between his teeth. Taehyung is looking around too.
“Shall we dance?” Jimin wonders, looking at the floor with longing clear in his eyes. Taehyung hums, tongue rolling around the straw, “you go ahead. I will just sit for a bit.” Jimin gets up at once, “if you can't find me, call me. Phone is on vibration. I will get it.”
Taehyung sits there for quite some time. His eyes finding Jimin once in a while. The omega is dancing on his own, but Taehyung can clearly see a few looking over. Some are crowding closer to Jimin. Taehyung arches a brow when Jimin loops his arms around one, leaning in to talk.
“Sir?” the bartender's voice breaks Taehyung's trance, and he is looking over, “a drink for you.” Taehyung looks down at the orange liquid and back at the bartender. “I didn't order,” he shakes his head, curious. The bartender jerks his head towards someone, “that sir did.”
Taehyung almost chokes on his own drink when he looks over and sees Jungkook. The alpha is leaning against the counter, face impassive. He is sipping his own drink, eyes glued on Taehyung. Colour drains from Taehyung's face, he sits up straighter while Jungkook strolls over.
“I wonder how this movie ends,” Jungkook tilts his head, standing tall in front of Taehyung, “with me telling your brother about your little stunt or-” “How about it ends with you shoving the drink up your ass and leaving me alone?” Taehyung arches a brow, “I am an adult now!”
Jungkook arches a brow, “are you now? If you are, then why did you lie?” Taehyung glares at the alpha, “because, I knew he would react like a protective big brother and cancel my plans!” “For good,” Jungkook sighs, “you shouldn't be here on your own. You are an unmated omega.”
“Are you seriously giving me a lecture right now?” Taehyung looks away, sipping his drink, “I can handle myself.” Jungkook does not move, “fine. If you say so. We all are in that booth, by the way,” he points at the booth, “Namjoon is there too. Come, say hi.”
Taehyung freezes, his eyes moving over to the booth to see a few people sitting around. He looks at Jungkook and Jungkook is smirking at him. “Don't tell hyung I am here!” Taehyung reaches for Jungkook's wrist in desperation, “he will lose his shit and tell eomma and appa!”
Jungkook leans in, face to face with Taehyung, “why, peach?” his lips curl up with a teasing smirk, “I thought you were an adult now.” Taehyung flushes, “don't call me that! Also, they always treat me like I am a baby!” Jungkook snorts, “and you are not? Are you sure?”
Taehyung glares at the alpha, “just get out of my face and take your drink with you!” “Have it,” Jungkook's eyes slowly drag over Taehyung, “do you know what it's called?” Taehyung shrugs. Jungkook's lips curve, he leans in to whisper in Taehyung's ear, “sex on the beach.”
“No worries, the irony is,” Jungkook bites back a wide grin, “it's virgin.” Taehyung huffs, rolling his eyes, “that's an Oxymoron, you moron.” Jungkook lets out a deep breath, “god, you suck at this and you are a nerd. I will go.” Taehyung shrugs, “kept hoping you would.”
Jungkook steps closer, hand coming to rest on Taehyung's thigh. Taehyung's breath hitches when Jungkook squeezes his thigh. “Don't do something stupid,” Jungkook's voice is rough, “peach. Don't make me come down here again.” Taehyung swallows, “never asked you to!”
Jungkook is impossibly close to him now. Taehyung inhales the earthy scent of the alpha. Jungkook hums, thumb caressing Taehyung's bare thigh, right under the hem of his shorts. “You don't have to ask me to,” Jungkook murmurs, “my eyes are always on you.” He turns and leaves.
Yoongi watches Jungkook come up to sit beside him. His eyes flicker from Jungkook to Taehyung at the other side of the room. Still on the stool. He cannot see the omega's expression, but he can see the smirk on Jungkook's and he sighs. “When will you stop?” he asks Jungkook.
Jungkook lights a cigarette, blowing out the smoke on Yoongi's face. “Stop what?” Yoongi rolls his eyes, “Namjoon will kill you if you do something to his brother.” Jungkook looks at where Taehyung is, “a one-night stand won't kill him. Namjoon doesn't have to know.”
Yoongi glances at where Nmajoon is before looking at Jungkook. “You know Tae has a crush on you, right?” Jungkook snorts, nodding, “it's clear as day. Come on. I am not dumb.” Yoongi winces, “don't do something to break his heart, pal. That's all I am saying.”
Jungkook looks at Taehyung, eyes roaming over the omega's figure. “He is an adult now,” he smirks at Yoongi, “if he decides to sleep with me, it will just be that. A night of sex. I don't know why it will break his heart?” Yoongi rolls his eyes, “don't play dumb with me.”
“You have a reputation in college,” Yoongi looks over at the dance floor and back at Jungkook, “you have slept through all the omegas of our batch and more. You are a cliché bad boy, kook. I am just saying, don't ruin our years old friendship by fucking Namjoon's brother.”
“It's not that deep,” Jungkook waves his hand, “also, I am not jumping him. My god,” he sighs, “I am just saying, if something is to happen, it's fine. One-night stands are okay. It's not like I am forcing him.” Yoongi hums, “but, still. I think you shouldn't get involved.”
Jungkook gives Yoongi a long look, “I am not advancing on him or anything. But, if he wants it, I am not going to back away because Namjoon might have a say in it. Come on.” Yoongi chuckles, “Tae wants you more than a hookup, though. You clearly never cared about relationships.”
Jungkook waves his hand, “I don't like you when you try to reason.” Yoongi laughs, patting Jungkook's back, “just trying to make you understand, Kook. If something happens between you two, then you will move past it. Tae clearly won't. Imagine the strain it will cost our group.”
Jungkook risks a glance at Taehyung. Yoongi catches the glance. He frowns. There is something in that look. Jungkook looks down at his hand where he holds the cigarette next, quietly smoking. Yoongi stares, “is there something more to it?” Jungkook looks at him, “huh?”
Yoongi turns to Jungkook, “is there something more to it than you finding entertainment in him and trying to play around?” Jungkook breathes out a laugh, “can you stop trying to read me? There's nothing more to it. I think he is attractive. That's all.” Yoongi arches a brow.
“It's nothing,” Jungkook gets up, “my god, hobi,” he waves at Hoseok, “let's go and dance.” Hoseok gets up, looking at Yoongi, “joining us?” Yoongi shakes his head, “nope. I am better here.” He watches Jungkook walk down to the dance floor with Hoseok.
🍀🍀🍀
Taehyung watches Jungkook dance. His eyes roaming over the alpha. Jungkook is on his own, eyes closed, a drink in hand, swaying with the music. Taehyung notices the crowd around him. Some are already turning to him. There are people eyeing him. He rolls his eyes, looking away.
Jungkook does not look at him though. The alpha looks down at a guy who is now clinging to him. Taehyung arches a brow, noticing how Jungkook smirks at the person, leaning in to say something. He stares at the omega who nods eagerly. They leave the dance floor.
Taehyung blinks at the alpha's retreating back and back at the dance floor. There is something ugly that coils in his stomach. Something twisting and turning in him. Taehyung takes a long gulp of the drink and curses when he sees Yoongi walking up to the bar. “Not you too!”
Yoongi laughs, “you are on your own, kid. Not here to lecture you. Did you see Jungkook, though?” Taehyung shrugs, carelessly pointing towards the door that leads to the back alley, “went there with a guy.” Yoongi blinks, looking at the alley, “oh?” he looks confused, “I see.”
Taehyung watches the alpha order a drink. He looks over to Jimin who is still dancing and now Hoseok joined him. They are dancing together, grinning at each other, arms around each other. “Does he do that a lot?” Taehyung murmurs, eyes on Jimin. Yoongi looks at him, “huh?”
Taehyung shrugs, “sleeping around... you know,” he risks a glance at the elder, cheeks heating up to discuss this with Yoongi, “having sex with strangers.” Yoongi is looking at him then. As if contemplating his words. Then the alpha nods. “Yes, he does,” Yoongi looks away.
Yoongi lets out a deep breath, shoulders hunching, “Tae,” he looks like he is in discomfort, choosing his words carefully, “growing up, we have a lot of crushes. But, they are just that, crushes,” the alpha looks at Taehyung pointedly, “sometimes it's better to let it end there.”
“Why would you tell me this?” Taehyung's eyes search Yoongi's face. Yoongi has a soft smile on his lips, he squeezes Taehyung's hand in his. “Because, you are like my little one,” he chuckles, “like Namjoon, I care about you too. Just...” he shrugs, “don't end up hurting. Yes?”
“You...” Taehyung swallows, “you know?” Yoongi hums, looking back at the drink the bartender serves him, “we all do. Somewhat.” Taehyung feels his heart drop to his stomach, “and, he?” Yoongi's eyes snap closed for a second, he shrugs, “he is not a fool. If anything.”
“It's just a crush,” Taehyung murmurs, not able to match Yoongi's eyes, “I will move past it.” Yoongi does not say anything. Taehyung knows what the alpha is thinking. It has been ages. Years. “You will,” Yoongi takes the glass, “I mean,” he smirks, “it's just a crush. No?”
“How cliché would it be if I said this?” Yoongi fakes a sombre expression, “we are not good people, Taehyung. You should find someone better.” Taehyung's lips twitch, then he is smiling, “are you counting yourself too?” Yoongi smiles, “maybe? Why? Are you interested in me?”
Taehyung takes a long and suggestive look at Yoongi and Yoongi fakes gagging. “Never answer that,” Yoongi holds up his drink, “never, ever answer that with that look. I will have nightmares and jump off a cliff. Never!” Taehyung laughs, watching the man scurry away.
=== Jungkook looks at the omega sleeping beside him. The motel's dim light gleaming on his sweaty skin. Jungkook gets up, finding his jeans and wearing it. The discomfort never leaves the pit of his stomach. It's there since Taehyung turned 20. The imprint of a soul bond.
Jungkook feels it course through him. There is something churning in his veins as he feels it inside. He lights a cigarette, walking to the jammed window of the motel, looking outside at the snowfall. The imprint burns, sizzles, every time Jungkook is with another omega.
Jungkook rebels against it. He doesn't believe in soul bonds. He doesn't believe in giving in to that primal urge of his animalistic side. He looks at the omega on the bed and thinks of Taehyung. The thought of him thinking of Taehyung makes unease churn in him. He shouldn't.
He knows Yoongi is right. He knows it in his heart. 'The imprint is an omega's way of choosing their alpha,' the doctor had said, 'it can only be broken if the omega rejects you.' The omega does not realize it until they are mated. The omegas have one mercy from the universe.
Jungkook is pretty sure Taehyung would never. So, he wants to put Taehyung in a situation where Taehyung starts to abhor him. He knows he would not be able to sleep with Taehyung, but he wants the omega to hate him. Free him somehow. He wants to knowingly break Taehyung's heart.
'What if another omega imprints on me?' Jungkook had asked the doctor. The doctor had smiled at him with sympathy clear on his face, 'it is kind of a soulmate bond, sir. Only that one person's feelings take form. It works for that one person only.' Jungkook knew he was fucked.
He shrugs on the coat, walks up to the sleeping omega and leans in. “I am leaving,” he murmurs, trying to smile when the omega looks up at him, sleepy eyes finding him, “would you want me to drop you off, or?” The omega shrugs, “no, I will sleep for now.” Jungkook leaves.
Jungkook gets on his bike. His head full of thoughts. 'Would I feel it if he sleeps with someone else?' 'No,' the doctor shook his head, 'but, if he mates someone else, it will over for you. You will be free. It's not that bad, really.' Jungkook wanted to strangle the doctor.
He wishes he can tell someone. If he tells Namjoon, the alpha will strangle him and free him from this world. If he tells Hoseok, he will blurt it out to Namjoon. Jin will freak out and Jungkook would rather not. Yoongi... he wants to tell Yoongi, but he never got the courage.
“Just find someone and move on,” Jungkook murmurs, his bike tearing through the empty streets, “move on and free me. I am not interested in you that way. I am not interested in mating. I am clearly not your match. Just move on, Taehyung.”
Jungkook stops the bike when his phone rings. He looks down at it to see Yoongi calling. He frowns, “hello?” “So, something happened,” Yoongi's voice is high-pitched, “remember when I said, you should stay away from Tae?” Jungkook arches a brow, “like… a few hours ago? Yeah!”
“I told the same to him,” Yoongi curses, “and, I think, that idiot when somewhere with an alpha.” Jungkook blinks, eyes on the crossroad in front of him, “what...” his voice is thin, “what do you mean he went somewhere with an alpha?” Yoongi curses, “how can I be more clear?!”
Jungkook grips the handle of the bike, “wasn't he drunk?!” Yoongi hums, “yeah! Joon is freaking out! We are all at his house! Jimin too. Can you come over?” Jungkook tilts his head up at the sky, closing his eyes, “how is me being there going to help anything, Yoongi?”

☁️❄☁️
“Just moral support, Kook,” Yoongi sounds tired, “Joon is really going crazy here!” Jungkook starts his bike, “yeah, fine. Coming.” It doesn't take long to reach the Kims resident. Jungkook parks the bike and gets inside to see Namjoon questioning Jimin, the omega looks sick.
“What if he called you, and you didn't get it?” Namjoon tries again, “what if-” “I would have the notifications, no?” Jimin gives Namjoon a pointed glare, “he just left! Hyung, if he did tell me, why would I hide it?” “Because of loyalty or shit!” Namjoon throws his hands up.
Jimin slams his hands on the couch beside him, “for god's sake! He is missing! I am not stupid to hide information right now, hyung!” “How about we go to the police?” Namjoon looks at Jin next, eyes wide, “they would know what to do!” Jin looks troubled, “we can, but-”
“Police won't do anything until it's twenty-four hours,” Jin rubs Namjoon's back, “babe, please, try to calm down. Spiralling is not going to help.” Jungkook walks up to sit beside Yoongi, nodding when Yoongi looks at him. “We have to do something!” Namjoon stands up.
The door of the house opens. They look over to see Taehyung walking in. Taehyung looks forward and freezes when he sees everyone gathered around the living room. Jungkook watches the alpha beside Taehyung. Kim Baekhyun. “There you are!” Namjoon thunders, “where have you been?”
Taehyung blinks, a little startled and awkward, “why…” his eyes skim over everyone, “is everyone gathered here?” Namjoon arches a brow, “what do you mean, why?! We were worried sick for you! You just disappeared!” Taehyung winces, “I just went on a walk with Baekhyun hyung.”
“For three hours?!” Jin demands, “if you round the entire town, even then it won't take three hours, Tae!” Namjoon walks up to Baekhyun, glare fixed on the alpha, “he was drunk! Did you do something to him?! If you-” Jungkook snorts, “you think they had sex for three hours?”
Namjoon glares at Jungkook, “clearly missing the point, I see!” “Hyung, can you calm down?” Taehyung presses a hand over Namjoon's chest, his cheeks heating up, “you are embarrassing me. You know Baekhyun hyung. You used to be friends before he moved away. I just saw him and-”
“Oh, my god! You were drunk!” Namjoon's eyes widen, “did you have your first time while you were drunk?! Did he treat you right?! Oh, my god, did he manipulate you-” Jungkook hides his face in his palms. Yoongi leans in, “now you understand what I meant?” Jungkook scoffs.
Jungkook snorts, “that Namjoon is crazy? I know.” Taehyung looks mortified, “hyung, shut the f'ck up! For god's sake, you are embarrassing me!” Jimin gets up from the couch, “let him talk, hyung. You are totally going down the wrong lane,” he looks at Taehyung, “right?”
“Yeah,” Taehyung nods, “we just went around. Had some ice-cream and went to the park.” Namjoon stares, face sporting a deadpanned expression, “in the middle of the night, you went to the park with Baekhyun,” his voice drips with sarcasm, “for no reason at all?! Really?”
Baekhyun steps forward, “nothing happened, Namjoon. He was not feeling good in the club. I just took him out for some fresh air. That's all.” Namjoon looks at Taehyung and back at Baekhyun, “why did you bring him here?” Taehyung shrugs, “to meet you? You are friends?!”
Namjoon glares at Baekhyun, “stay away from my brother though,” he pulls Taehyung to his side, “he is too young for you!” “I am just three years younger than him!” Taehyung pulls away from Namjoon, “stop embarrassing me!” Baekhyun laughs, “chill, dude. It was nothing, really.”
“Next time just send a message or something,” Jungkook gets up, ready to leave, “so, others know you are not dead.” Taehyung glares at him, there's something fierce in those eyes, “sorry if I ruined your night. You shouldn't have bothered coming here!” Jungkook stares, “right.”
“Jungkook, damn, I didn't recognize you!” Baekhyun steps forward, eyes a little wide, curious, “hi!” Jungkook lets out a sigh, turning to Baekhyun with a small smile, “hey, dude.” Baekhyun pulls him in a side hug, “it has been so long.” Jungkook hums, “yeah. A few years.”
Taehyung ignores the alphas and reaches for Jimin before pulling him towards the stairs. Jin stands in front of it, eyes fixed on Taehyung, “next time you will call or message us before pulling a stunt like this. Am I clear?” Taehyung swallows, nodding, “yes, hyung.” Jin nods.
Jin pats his shoulder, “now go and rest. I will handle your brother.” Taehyung gives a curt nod and drags Jimin upstairs with himself. “What were you thinking?” Jimin asks as soon as the door closes, “he could have done something, Tae! You were supposed to call me!”
“He asked me on a date,” Taehyung whispers, eyes a little large, “like real date!” Jimin gapes, “so… what did you do? Tonight?” “Nothing,” Taehyung paces the room, biting his nail, “we just talked. He was flirting and I kind of,” he shrugs, “I didn't realize it was this late!”
“Did you agree?” Jimin asks, going to sit beside Taehyung, “what will you do when we go back to Seoul for the semester?” Taehyung stares at Jimin in exasperation, “why do you run that far? Just a date, mimi. I am not starting a relationship with him!”
Jimin nods, blinking, “okay, okay,” his lips stretch on a smile, “do you like him?” Taehyung shrugs, sitting down beside Jimin, “he is not... bad?” he makes a face, “I mean, I think it's high time I start loosening up, no?” he smiles at Jimin, “what do I have to lose, anyway?”
Jimin shrugs, “you have nothing to lose anyway.” Taehyung hears the starting of an engine, he winces, looking at the window behind his bed. Jungkook is starting his bike, wearing his helmet after he shakes his hair out of his face. Taehyung watches the alpha ride away.
Another bike roars to life and Jimin curses, “can he not put silencer in his bike?” he peeks over Taehyung's shoulder, “show off! Disturbing everyone!” Taehyung watches Yoongi's orange hair glow under the lamps before he wears the helmet. Yoongi drives off after Jungkook.
Taehyung smiles at Yoongi's retreating bike, looking back at Jimin. “He told me to move on,” Taehyung sighs, looking down at his hands, “it's just a crush. I think,” he looks at Jimin with hopeful eyes, “he is right. No?” Jimin winces, “don't make me agree with that asshole.”
Taehyung flops down on the bed, eyes on the ceiling, “it will all be good. I know.” Jimin lies down beside him, curling up against Taehyung, “yeah. It's just a crush. It will be fine.” Taehyung closes his eyes, he is not sure what 'fine,' means, but he hopes it gets better.
---- “Holy shit, what are you doing?!” Taehyung jumps, a hand over his chest, “why are you here this early?!” Jungkook shrugs, not turning to face him, “my parents left for their vacation. Apparently you don't have constant supplies of milk unless you buy it yourself.”
Taehyung turns to face the alpha's back, arches a brow, “are you serious? You came here for milk?” Jungkook shrugs, “and, coffee. And, bread. And, butter. And,” he looks over his shoulder at Taehyung with a pout, “apparently, nothing stocks up on its own. Can you imagine?”
Taehyung watches the way Jungkook smiles at him. The boyish, carefree tilt of those lips. The early morning sun hitting his face, his pale skin glowing. Those eyes glisten with mischief. Taehyung feels his heart skip a beat. He always wanted to feel that smile against his lips.
He blinks, fast, scowling at the alpha, “I came here for breakfast! Where is hyung?” Jungkook points over the door of Namjoon's room, putting a spoonful of sugar in his mouth. “By the noises, they are having sex.” Taehyung winces, “oh, god, just say they are sleeping!”
“It's like knowing your parents are having sex,” Taehyung rounds Jungkook to reach for the teabags on the shelf and drop one in his cup. Jungkook arches a brow at him, “they did have sex. That's how you are here.” Taehyung cringes, “I don't need to see or hear it though!”
Jungkook speaks around the spoon in his mouth, “I once walked in on them having sex-” “My parents?!” Taehyung whirls around, eyes wide. Jungkook stares at him, face blank, “no. Obviously not! Mine,” he pours milk in his coffee, “makes up for a therapy session, I tell you.”
Taehyung bites back a laugh, “you poor thing.” Jungkook winces, stirring his mug, “can't believe you made me remember that.” Taehyung pours some hot water in his cup, bobbing the tea-bag in it, “sorry?” Jungkook shrugs, sipping his coffee and eyeing Taehyung, “up early?”
“How do you know?” Taehyung arches a brow. The alpha smirks, “let's just say, this is not the first time I sneaked in and got breakfast for free from your household.” Taehyung freezes, eyes wide, “wha-” Jungkook laughs, “relax. Joon knows.” Taehyung rolls his eyes, “right.”
Taehyung sips his tea, “no, I just have a date today.” Jungkook picks up a plate, putting in the breads from the toaster, “with Baekhyun?” Taehyung nods, “he asked me out.” Jungkook chuckles, shaking his head, “damn, I am a little hurt, Taehyung.” Taehyung pauses, “why?”
“The downgrading of your taste,” he wails dramatically, sniffling, “from me to that nerd. What did you see in him, peach?” Taehyung breathes out, turning away, “shut up! He is a nice guy.” Jungkook laughs, “you don't date nice guys. You friendzone them. That's a universal law.”
“Just as it's the universal rule that,” Jungkook comes up to Taehyung, right behind him to whisper in his ear, “you date jerks. Emotionally unavailable bad boys. That makes you a main character. Come on, Tae. You are ruining it.” Taehyung elbows him, “shut up, Jungkook!”
Jungkook steps closer, hand resting on Taehyung's hip, “come on, what will the readers think? Who read your biography? You settled for a boring guy and got a boring life. Where is the vibe, peach?” Taehyung's eyes snap closed, “are you making fun of me right now?”
“Is,” he looks over his shoulder at Jungkook, eyes burning, “is the thought of your friend's younger brother having feelings for you makes you laugh?” Jungkook's smile dims, “Tae-” Taehyung chuckles, tired, “do you make fun of it behind my back? Do you laugh at me for it?”
Taehyung turns to face the alpha, “that's my worst fear, you know?” his voice clogs up, “that you make fun of me behind my back. That you point at me and tell your cool friends how I have a stupid crush on you.” Jungkook's eyes are unreadable, “I would never. You know it.”
“Do I?” Taehyung snorts, “I don't. Shit, Jungkook, I am still here, telling you I have a date. I am telling you in hope that it will make you feel something,” he looks away, grasping the edge of the counter behind his back, “like those main characters, I want you to be jealous.”
“Yoongi hyung told me it's just a crush,” Taehyung tries hard not to let his voice waver, “that, I will move on. I should move on. I am trying. Okay?” he looks at Jungkook, “let me. Be a jerk. Let me hate you. I think, if I hate you, I will move on from whatever I feel for you.”
Taehyung curses, “I see you everywhere. In this town. In the university. You are everywhere. I don't know what can I possibly do for my feelings to just,” he waves his hands, “go away. I know you don't owe me the reciprocation of them. You don't. But, you keep adding to it.”
Jungkook watches the omega, “would it help you to move on if I said, I planned on bedding you?” he nods when Taehyung's eyes snap to his, “I thought of taking advantage of your feelings. It would be so easy. I wanted to. I would have, if you didn't disappear with him last night.”
“Wh-what are you talking about?” Taehyung leans back, away from the alpha. Jungkook breathes out a soft laugh, “yeah. I wanted to. For a night, of course. I am not into relationships and all that. I,” he shrugs, “you are not my type either. But, sex is good. No?”
Jungkook leans in, “that alpha ruined the pla-” “I saw you leave with that omega,” Taehyung breathes out, “what are you talking about?” he frowns, “I left after you. Whatever you are playing at, you are not succeeding. What is it?” Jungkook blinks, “you saw us?” Taehyung nods.
Jungkook looks away, “well-” “What are you hiding?” Taehyung reaches to grasp at Jungkook's T-shirt. “Nothing,” Jungkook pulls away, “I am playing at nothing.” “Also, if that's what you wanted, you could have told me,” Taehyung folds his arms over his chest, “I would agree.”
Jungkook frowns, confused, “what?” Taehyung shrugs, careless, “I agree. I mean, it's just sex,” he looks at the alpha with a small twist of his lips, “I won't make a deal out of it. As they say, we can fuck and that way I can fuck my feelings out of my system.” Jungkook blinks.
Taehyung gives Jungkook a laugh, “why do you look so bewildered? I am just twenty. You didn't think I was trying to settle down or something, did you?” Jungkook combs his hair back, eyes glued on Taehyung, “well...” Taehyung rolls his eyes, “I am not that clingy. I swear.”
Taehyung bites down on his lower lip, “come on, alpha,” his voice is nothing but a whisper, “let us make a deal.” Jungkook raises a brow, not uttering a word. “If you want, because I do,” Taehyung waves his hand, “we can have sex. Once. Get it over with. I am in.”
Taehyung takes his cup from the counter, looks at Jungkook with a small smile. “When we go back to the university, this will be just a memory and down the road, we will forget about it. Both of us.” Jungkook doesn't utter a word. Taehyung shrugs, “think about it.” He leaves.
==== It takes Jungkook a week. Taehyung doesn't see the alpha around the house. Namjoon speaks about the alpha going on a road trip on his own. Taehyung is not expecting the message when it comes. 'If you are still in for that plan,' Jungkook's message reads, 'come out.'
Taehyung looks at the clock. It's past midnight. He bites his lower lip and peeks through the curtains of his bedroom window. Jungkook is with his bike, waiting right outside the boundary of their house. Taehyung tip toes out of the room and down the stairs.
He walks out to the alpha who is looking at him now. “Are you sure about this?” Jungkook asks, eyes snapping to the house, “if not, just go back inside.” Taehyung climbs on Jungkook's bike, “where are we going?” Jungkook curses, “a motel.” Taehyung hums, “no. Not a motel.”
Jungkook looks over his shoulder at Taehyung, “what do you mean?” Taehyung's arms go around Jungkook's waist, chin coming to rest on Jungkook's shoulder. “I am not having sex for the first time in a motel. Take me to your house.” Jungkook blinks, “are you serious?”
Taehyung frowns, “yes. I want it to-” “You never had sex?” Jungkook curses, turning away, “shit, Tae," he rubs his forehead, “get inside! I am not going to-” “Why not?” Taehyung frowns, “it's just sex!” “No, I don't want to!” Jungkook hisses, “I am not about to be your first!”
“Since when you hold first times to that value?!” Taehyung throws his hands up, exasperated, “so what? Someone has to be my first-” “Get off of my bike and get inside!” Jungkook points, “I am not going to. No!” The lamp in front of the house lights up and they both flinch.
“Okay, that's Namjoon,” Taehyung squirms closer to Jungkook, arms tightening around the alpha, “you better start moving before he walks out and sees us. If he does,” he glares at Jungkook, “I will just say you were dropping me off after we had sex.” Jungkook starts the bike.
“I am not having sex with you!” Jungkook frowns, “where are we even going?” Taehyung hums, closing his eyes, “if we are not having sex, then... just take me for a long drive.” Jungkook looks at the omega from the corner of his eyes, “you are such a brat!” Taehyung shrugs.
🌷🌷🌷
“How does it taste?” Taehyung asks, “good, right?” Jungkook eyes the tub of strawberry ice-cream and gives Taehyung a deadpanned look. “I know how strawberry ice-cream tastes, peach,” he rolls his eyes, “basic.” Taehyung swats him, “your vanilla is the most basic though!”
They are sitting at the parking lot of the supermarket in their town. Two tubs of ice-creams between them. Taehyung straddling the bike, the tub on the seat. While Jungkook leans against it. “The seat is all wet,” Jungkook sighs, “pick the tub up, peach.” Taehyung ignores him.
Taehyung has a spoonful of ice-cream in his mouth, eyeing Jungkook's tub with a quizzical but cringe face. Jungkook rolls his eyes, holding out his tub. “Thanks,” Taehyung scoops some vanilla ice-cream up and feeds himself, “would you like some of mine?” Jungkook waves him off.
Jungkook wonders how would Taehyung feel if he said about the imprint thing. He wonders what would Taehyung think of it. He can't show any proof. The feeling is in him. The searing pain or soothing peace, it's all very internal. He wonders if Taehyung will ever know.
He will never tell Taehyung that right now he feels the most peaceful. His alpha inside him curls up, sated, satisfied, as it watches Taehyung, their omega, happily shove ice-cream in his mouth. Safe and sound. It's surreal. Jungkook wonders if Taehyung's omega feels the same.
He watches how Taehyung looks. Clad in his cotton pajama bottoms and a brown, puffy hoodie that swallows him up all the way. Those sweater-paws grasping the tub to himself. The yellowish street-lamps basking a soft glow on him. Jungkook likes how cosy and intimate Taehyung looks.
Taehyung looks at him, catches Jungkook staring and arches a quizzical brow. Jungkook shrugs, going back to his ice-cream. “It's not safe to stay at a damn car park this late,” Jungkook looks at his watch, “it's almost three. Let's go.” “I don't want to go home yet, Jungkook.”
Jungkook looks at the omega, “tough. I don't need to listen to your whims.” Taehyung reaches out, grasping Jungkook's wrist, when the alpha goes to snatch the tub out of Taehyung's hand. “Please,” Taehyung's lower lip juts out, “I am not sleepy.” Jungkook stares at him.
Taehyung's eyes are larger, pleading, “I like it here.” 'With you.' Taehyung doesn't say it. Jungkook hears it anyway. It's there, right there between them. They like it here. Jungkook feels terrified that he likes it here. He takes the tub from Taehyung, getting on the bike.
“Can't we watch a movie?” Taehyung wonders, squirming closer to Jungkook while Jungkook puts the ice-cream tubs in a bag, “please?” Jungkook starts the bike, “you think the Townhill is open at this hour?” Taehyung leans his head on Jungkook's shoulder, “maybe at your house?”
Jungkook doesn't say anything. He turns the bike and drives up to the road of his house. Taehyung has been in his house too many times with Namjoon. Jungkook still remembers meeting the omega for the first time. Taehyung was just two years old and Jungkook was five.
He remembers Namjoon showing him off. His little brother. Jungkook remembers staring, awestruck at someone so tiny. He had doubted when Namjoon said it was okay to pick Taehyung up. Jungkook had thought he would break the baby's neck or something if he was careless.
So, he didn't. He sat by the crib where Taehyung was left by his parents for Jungkook's mother to babysit. 'Come on, let's go and play!' Namjoon had said, 'he will be fine.' Jungkook didn't leave. He waves Namjoon off. How can that tiny thing be fine on its own, he wondered.
So, he sat in the living room, kneeling by the crib while Taehyung crawled around. Not a fan of walking. Time to time, the baby would grasp the railing and stand up. Grin at Jungkook when Jungkook would reach instinctively, so Taehyung doesn't fall on his ass.
He had seen Taehyung grow up in front of him. Seen Namjoon bring him to the school for the first time. He stayed to watch Taehyung cry, while Namjoon cried harder to leave the baby alone in a class full of toddlers. He had seen another baby reach out, wiping Taehyung's tears.
He had seen that baby squirm closer to Taehyung. Taehyung's large eyes on that one who had pulled him into his small arms. 'See, he already made a friend,' Hoseok had said, 'he will be fine.' Jungkook chuckles at the thought. “I can drop you off at Jimin's house?”
Taehyung hums, “mimi will be fast asleep. I don't want to disturb him.” “He will never be disturbed by you, remember how he stood up to Yoongi hyung when he thought he was disturbing you?” Jungkook snickers at the memory. Taehyung smiles, wide, “he was terrified, though.”
“Yoongi hyung was teasing me,” Taehyung smiles at the thought, “it was my first day at kindergarten, and he was teasing me-” “To distract you because you kept crying,” Jungkook huffs, “he wasn't going to eat your strawberry.” “Mimi bit him,” Taehyung giggles, “I remember.”
Jungkook laughs, “I still remember the expression on Yoongi's face when Jimin bit his arm.” Taehyung sighs, “it feels like forever.” “Yeah,” Jungkook hums, taking the turn towards his house, “it is. I know you since you were in diaper. That's why it's cringe.”
“What's cringe?” Taehyung wonders, “the thought of fcking me?” Jungkook curses, loud, “yeah, you don't have to explicitly say it like that!” Taehyung rolls his eyes, nails digging in Jungkook's thigh, “you understand I am all grown up now, right? I want this.”
“Also, you thought of it,” Taehyung looks at the alpha. Jungkook shrugs, “as a plan. As a plan I have thought of buying land on the moon too. You don't see me actually doing it.” “You are broke,” Taehyung rolls his eyes, “you can't. This one, you can, though.” Jungkook curses.
He kills the engine in front of his house and leads Taehyung to the door. As Jungkook opens the door, Taehyung looks around. “The garden is dying,” Taehyung murmurs, eyeing the plants. “Yeah, I am hoping to bring Namjoon over tomorrow and let him see it,” Jungkook shrugs.
“Why does he need to see it?” Taehyung steps inside. Jungkook closes the door, “because, that's how I get my work done. The plants are dying? Let Namjoon see it. He will take care of it. I am dying? Let Jin hyung see it, he will make something for me to eat.” Taehyung stares.
“I am dying from boredom, let Hobi see it,” he walks up to drop the keys in the bowl, “we will do something fun. I am dying from inside? Let Yoongi see it. We will have some good talk. That's how I function.” “By making others take care of you?” Taehyung deadpans.
Jungkook shrugs, “responsibilities scare me,” he looks at Taehyung at last, there is something in those eyes Taehyung can't comprehend, “I am too careless to look after myself. Imagine if I have to do it for others? I will suffocate and die, or that person will. For sure.”
“I get bored of the things that were interesting to me a week or so ago,” Jungkook shrugs, “I can't carry out a routine for too long before breaking down and changing it. I abhor steady and smooth going shit. I am not made for it. Not made for settling down. It scares me.”
“I have grown up seeing my parents madly in love,” Jungkook shoves his hands in his pockets, “I don't know what went wrong in me that I can't stand the thought of settling down. I don't want to think of my life as my parents did. Every day the same. No matter how good it is.”
“How does anyone just think like that is beyond me,” Jungkook combs his hair back, “imagine being born in the same town and dying right there?” he shivers, “among the faces you grew up with. Choosing one of them and never taking the risk in any shape or form? I can't.”
“What do you think you will do?” Taehyung wonders, “in a few years...” “I don't,” Jungkook turns away, “because, I know, logically, I don't have enough support to do something groundbreaking, but I refuse to fall into this boring routine of life and die one day. I can't, Tae.”
“I don't know why I am telling you all this,” Jungkook swallows, “maybe, so you can just realize how I am not the person you should waste your time on. But, I am not. I am not saying this like those cliché bad boys, I am saying this because I know. You deserve better.”
Taehyung looks away, “I am not thinking of settling down, Jungkook. I am not thinking of that far either. Can't we just try-” “I don't want to see you slowly dying because of my ignorance like those plants, God damn it, Taehyung,” Jungkook roars, “try and understand it!”
“I will try to shove you off to another person then, like I did to them with Namjoon. To take better care because I can't,” Jungkook looks frustrated, “I am emotionally never available. I am too busy in my own head. Too bitter of what life is for me. I am not made for this shit!”
“I know those are my responsibilities, and it hurts to see I am failing my parents because they left them in my supervision. They expect the least from me and I suck at it too. But, some days I don't take care of myself, how can I take care of everything else? It's all too much.”
“How about,” Taehyung waves his hand, “we watch the damn movie, and you stop running to the last day of your life?” he steps up to Jungkook, “how about we just watch the movie?” Jungkook arches a brow, a sardonic smile on his lips, “I overthink, sir. I will always overthink.”
“I am overthinking right now, about how many ways I can fuck you up,” he steps back, “how many ways I can break you and in the process break Namjoon and my friendship. Then, with him, all my other friends. How things can go south, and I am now living my life completely alone.”
Jungkook gives a short laugh, “in my head, I am dying and no one is there because throughout my life I pushed everyone away with my words and now I am a loser while my friends are all happy and successful in their lives, sett-” Taehyung grasps Jungkook's wrist, “come back here.”
Taehyung steps close to the alpha, eyes boring into Jungkook's, “how about you take a deep breath and calm down?” he pulls Jungkook in a hug, “how about you just be here. I am here, you are here. We can think of the last day when it comes. For now, take a deep breath.”
Jungook does, inhales deeply and snaps his eyes closed. Something burns in them. He cracks inside when he feels how solid and grounding Taehyung is against him. He breaks when his mind tells him one day Taehyung will leave, and he shouldn't get emotionally dependant.
He refuses to hug Taehyung back. He refuses to invest when he knows it won't last. He will fuck it up somehow. He stands there, rigid, knowing that while doing it, he is breaking it himself, but he can't bring himself to act differently.
He loves too fiercely and when they still leave, it hits him right back. He stumbles and falls on his knees, and no one comes to pick him up. So, he would rather not. But, Taehyung is taking a hold of his hands and wrapping them around himself. Jungkook feels his chest hurt.
“Watch the movie with me?” Taehyung murmurs, pulling back a little to match those eyes, “I really want to.” Jungkook nods, coughs, embarrassed of his own breakdown, “I am sorry. I must have sounded like a freak.” “You didn't,” Taehyung is fast in his assurance, “not at all.”
Jungkook's eyes are hard on Taehyung, “don't show me sympathy, peach,” his voice is gravelly, “I am not a case study and I don't need to be treated with caution. Don't change because I opened up a little. I will chuck you out, I swear.” Taehyung smiles, “good. Movie?”
He goes to sit on the couch, bouncing on it experimentally. “Make me some popcorn,” Taehyung oders, “not spicy.” Jungkook stares, rolls his eyes and throws the remote at Taehyung, “brat.” He goes to make the popcorn, thankful for those few minutes alone to collect himself.
When he comes back, Taehyung has opened Stranger Things. Jungkook curses out loud. “I will die right here! This is not a movie!” He goes to sit beside Taehyung, “and, it won't end in a night!” Taehyung shrugs, pushing the remote under his thighs, “good. We can come back to it!”
Jungkook leans back on the couch, eyes on the screen, “this will take forever to finish.” He goes rigid when Taehyung wraps his arms around his elbow and rests his head on top of his shoulder. “That's okay,” Taehyung murmurs, “we have time in our hands.” Jungkook breathes out.
“Okay, Steve is really handsome,” Taehyung sighs, “but an ass.” Jungkook hums, “Jonathan is a creep. Why would you click those photos, bro?” Taehyung nods, munching the popcorns, “right? I don't blame Steve for being pissed.” Jungkook nudges Taehyung, “you just like bad boys.”
Taehyung gives him a pointed look, “he is not really a bad boy though. Is he?” Jungkook chuckles, “the way the show is portraying him up until now, he is shown as one.” Taehyung sighs, cuddling closer, “he is not. Too good-looking to be bad.” Jungkook laughs, “idiot.”
There is a lull at the moment. Taehyung tilts his head up with a smile, and Jungkook looks down with a grin. Their expressions freeze on their faces when their eyes meet. Jungkook's eyes trail over Taehyung's face, pausing on those moles. Taehyung looks like he is frozen.
Taehyung licks his lower lip, eyes never leaving Jungkook's face. There is something desperate in his eyes, something pleading. Jungkook sees it. He feels it in his guts. The same desperation. His insides churn with the urge to just lean in. Capture those lips with his.
He curls his fingers in fists, turning away from those parted lips. Taehyung sucks in a breath. The rejection making him recoil. Jungkook feels the way the omega curls in on himself. His scent heavy in the air. Sour. He glares at the screen, trying not to let it affect him.
Taehyung swallows audibly, “maybe I should go home.” Jungkook hears the void in that tone, he nods, “yeah. I will drop you off.” Taehyung nods mutely, “I can go on my own too. If hyung sees-” “It's too late,” Jungkook gets up, pausing the screen, “I am dropping you off.”
Taehyung walks out of the house, his arms wrapped around himself, head bowed. Jungkook hates how the omega looks. He hates knowing he caused that, and that's what proves his point. He watches Taehyung and thinks this is what he will look like forever if he is with Jungkook.
Taehyung doesn't match his eyes when Jungkook gives him the helmet. The darkness is fading near the horizon. It's almost five in the morning. The sun is about to be up. Jungkook looks at the fading blue of the sky as he starts the bike. Taehyung holding his shoulders.
They are running towards the sunrise. Jungkook sees the soft orange rays tearing cross the darkness, spreading over the clouds as he takes Taehyung home. Taehyung is quiet behind him, keeping as much distance as he can between them. Jungkook feels hollow. The lights hurt his eyes
The streets are still empty. Everyone is still asleep. Jungkook parks the bike in front of Taehyung's house and shrugs out of his helmet. Taehyung is off his bike right away, coming forward to hand the helmet over to him silently before he turns away from Jungkook.
Jungkook curses, reaches for the omega's wrist from where he sits on the bike. He drags Taehyung back to him, startling the omega. “Wha-” Taehyung stops, breath caught in his chest. Jungkook captures those lips in a kiss, one arm around Taehyung, the other cupping his face.
“Is this,” Jungkook murmurs against Taehyung's lips, “your first kiss?” Taehyung's arms are tightly holding onto Jungkook's jacket. He nods, breathless. Jungkook curses, “shit,” he pulls the omega closer, kissing him breathless, “shit, shit.”
Taehyung's lips curl up hesitantly, “are you freaking out?” Jungkook squeezes the omega's hips as a warning, “would you have fun if I am freaking out?” Taehyung's fingers clutch at his hair, the omega tentatively initiating another kiss, “hmm, I am, alpha.” Jungkook curses.
“No worries,” Taehyung pulls back a little, his lips raw and plump from the kiss, there is a teasing glint in those eyes, “I have no one to compare you with, so I will always remember this as the best first kiss.” Jungkook arches a brow, a laugh bubbling out of his lips, “brat!”
“Are you groping my brother?!” They both freeze, eyes on each other. “Yeah,” Taehyung whispers, “that ought to seal the deal.” Jungkook bites down on his lower lip, “yeah, the memory will go down in my life as a horror one, though.” They both turn to see Namjoon by the door.
“I think you should run,” Taehyung looks at Jungkook with an apologetic smile, “he will kill you otherwise.” Jungkook watches Namjoon rush down the lawn to the fence, “yeah, he will find me eventually. Let's face it here itself. Hi, Namjoon. What's up, bro?” Taehyung winces.
“Were you groping-” “We heard the word and you don't need to repeat it,” Taehyung turns to face his brother, “he was not groping me!” “Oh, you know nothing!” Namjoon pulls Taehyung to himself, glaring at Jungkook, “what the f'ck, man?!” Jungkook winces, “I was not groping-”
“Your hands were on his ass!” Namjoon cringes, “oh, god, even thinking about it is making my skin crawl!” Jungkook makes a face, “then, stop thinking about it! I was not groping him. It was a kiss-” “That's worse!” Namjoon thunders, “why are you kissing my little bother?!”
Taehyung elbows Namjoon, “I am not little! Come on, hyung! I am twenty!” Namjoon ignores him, eyes fixed on Jungkook, “since when are you eyeing him?!” Jungkook curses, “okay, stop being so cringe! I am not eyeing-” “Oh, so this was spontaneous?!” Namjoon roars, “it's worse!”
“How is that worse?” Jungkook whines, “come on, man. You are overreacting. It was just a kiss-” “Because, he has feelings for you when you clearly don't,” Namjoon's voice thunders and quiets them all down with the obvious fact. The silence of the dawn settles around them.
They didn't notice Jin, who has silently walked up to stand beside Namjoon. Who reaches to place a hand on Namjoon's back. “Babe,” Jin sighs, “it's too early. You are going to wake everyone up. How about we get inside?” Namjoon stares at Jungkook, “he is not invited inside.”
Namjoon nods at Jungkook's bewildered expression, “I know you, Jungkook. I know how you are. You are not going to hurt Tae, I won't let it happen. He won't hurt because of your whims, your recklessness. He is young and naive. He doesn-” “Let him choose his life,” Jin interrupts.
Namjoon's eyes snap to Jin, “what are you talking about?” Jin nods, “Tae can choose his own fights. He is not naive. You are making him sound like a toddler or a stupid omega. He is not,” Jin looks at Jungkook, “also, Jungkook here... you didn't let him explain his side.”
“He is a lot of things, but,” Jin's voice is warm when he looks over at Jungkook, “he is not the alpha you are making him out to be. Come on, Joon. He is your friend.” “Friends don't grope their friends' siblings!” Namjoon glares at Jungkook, “that's like... the first rule!”
“Can we get inside?” Taehyung says, “you are creating a scene for no reason.” “I'm not getting inside,” Jungkook shakes his head, “what?” he stares when three pairs of eyes turn to him, “Joon is pissed. No one saw me coming here. If he kills me and buries me, no one would know.”
“Can you for once be serious?” Jin sighs, rubbing his temple, “Jungkookah, I swear-” Jungkook looks at Taehyung, “just tell him I was not groping you!” Taehyung glares, “you think I didn't?! You heard me say it!” Jungkook looks at Namjoon, “it was just a kiss, joon. Come on!”
“So, it was a mistake?” Namjoon arches a brow. Taehyung looks at Jungkook, his chest tightening. Jin looks at Jungkook too, his eyes never wavering. Jungkook grips the handles of the bike, squeezing them, “no,” he looks away, “it wasn't. I wanted to kiss him, so I did.”
Namjoon watches him, clearly taken aback. Taehyung lets out a deep breath, looks at Namjoon and back at Jungkook. “But, that's all it is,” Jungkook looks at Taehyung, ignoring Namjoon, “a kiss. It's not more than that. It will never be more than that. Right?”
Taehyung looks away, nodding silently. Namjoon's arm comes around his shoulder, and Taehyung holds back the whimper that surges up to his throat. There is something heartbreaking about comfort. It gives a false sense of security. Taehyung pulls out of Namjoon's grasp.
“I am tired,” he speaks to no one in particular, “I will go and sleep. Don't disturb me.” He rushes inside, eyes on his steps. Namjoon watches him go and then looks back at Jungkook, “you wanted to kiss him, you did. Now I want to punch you, shall I?” Jin sighs, “Joon.”
“No, Jin, you don't get it,” Namjoon steps away from Jin, “Tae always had feelings for Jungkook. He was never tactful enough to be able to hide it. I have feared for this day, Jin. I have feared for the day Jungkook handles the matter exactly how he did! He hurt Tae! You saw!”
“I won't be a prude and stand in his way if he was serious about it, if he wanted to date Tae,” Namjoon waves his hands, “but, he doesn't. If they dated and then broke up, I would not be mad! He just kissed Tae and decided what he wanted without asking Tae's point! You saw it!”
“I won't let him be one of your one-night stands, Jungkook,” Namjoon points a finger at Jungkook's face, “keep that in mind! He is my brother and I refuse to let him walk down this path, knowing you are fucked up to ever want what he always wanted.” The alpha storms inside.
Jungkook watches him go and lets out a chuckle, shaking his head. “I guess, I will go-” Jin walks up to him, “you know how protective he is of Tae. Give him some time.” Jungkook shrugs, “it's over. He will never talk to me-” Jin places a hand on Jungkook's shoulder, “stop.”
He nods when Jungkook looks at him, “stop overthinking it,” the omega gives him a knowing, small smile, “give him time to cool down. It was a shock to him. Seeing you two. He worries, okay? He will come around.” Jungkook swallows, looking ahead at the empty road, “right.”
Jin pats Jungkook's cheek, “now, don't go back to your empty house,” he shakes his head, “you will sit around, alone, and make up stupid scenarios and then run off. Just go to Yoongi's. I will call him.” Jungkook waves his hand, “stop being worried. I can take care of myself.”
Jin grips his hair playfully, earning a wince from Jungkook. “If you don't want me to worry, don't worry me,” Jin gives him a smile, “it's that simple. If you don't show up to Yoongi's, you will worry me. Now, you decide.” Jin walks back inside and Jungkook starts the bike.
Jin leaves Yoongi a message as soon as he is inside the house. 'If kookie shows up, don't be a brat to him. Namjoon just lost his temper on him for kissing Tae. Call me if he shows up. Better call me, Yoongi, I swear!' Jin goes to the kitchen, making himself some coffee.
When the phone rings, Jin snatches it from the counter, “hello?” Yoongi drawls, “I haven't slept the entire night, and now I am babysitting?” Jin's lips twitch, “you are. Is he there?” Yoongi hums, “he is. But, there is a problem.” Jin frowns, “what's the problem?”
“Jimin is crashing here,” Yoongi murmurs. Jin nods, “oh, that's fin-” he blinks, eyes widening, “wait, what?!” Yoongi winces, “shit, it's five thirty, Jin. Lower your voice.” “Wait, why is Jimin crashing at yours?!” Jin demands, “what is going on, Yoongi?! Don't tell me-”
“Oh, my god, you haven't slept the entire night,” Jin freaks out, “don't tell me-” “Please stop connecting the dots to create my worst nightmare,” Yoongi sighs, “he imprinted Hoba. He was freaking out when he realized, so I brought him to my house. That's all.” Jin goes quiet.
Jin grips the edge of the counter, “how are you?” when silence greets him, Jin curses under his breath, “shit, Yoongi. I am sorry. I shouldn't have asked Jungkook to be there. You are clearly not doing okay-” “I am fine,” Yoongi sighs, “it's good that Jungkook is here.”
“It's a good distraction,” Yoongi hums, “I will talk to you later.” Jin rubs his temple, “hobi and he discussed it, yeah?” Yoongi is quiet, “yeah. They did. They are thinking about mating.” Jin winces, “Yoongi, are you sure you can-” “I will talk later, Jin,” Yoongi hangs up.
A/N - There are some confused souls about the imprint thing. ONLY the omegas can leave an imprint. Pre-mating bond type. Alphas can't. Only the omegas have that power. I hope it was clear. 💗

Taehyung doesn't talk to Namjoon for the next three days. Namjoon does not invade his privacy, either. In those three days, he doesn't see Jungkook. The alpha does not come over. He does not come for the matches on their backyard. On the fourth day, Namjoon breaks his resolve.
He comes to Taehyung's room and sits on the small couch while Taehyung gets ready for the day. When the silence stretches, Namjoon lets out a deep breath and leans forward with his elbows on his knees. “I am sorry. I overreacted. You can handle yourself, I know.”
“You are completely capable of taking care of yourself and do what's right for you,” the alpha looks down at his hands, remorse clear in his voice, “I also messed up by acting so rashly with Jungkook. I went to meet him and apologized for my behaviour. It was uncalled for.”
“Tonight, we all are meeting at the club again,” Namjoon nods when Taehyung looks at him through the mirror, “all of us. For the last time, before we all leave for uni. He is coming. If you want, you can come too,” Namjoon holds up his hands, “I will totally ignore you two.”
“Are you capable of that?” Taehyung arches a brow. Namjoon breathes out a soft laugh, dimples prominent on his cheeks, “I will bite my hand until I bleed probably, but I won't say shit.” Taehyung's lips twitch, “no worries. Nothing will happen between us. It was just a kiss.”
“There's nothing more,” Taehyung shrugs, his eyes fixed on himself in the mirror, “there never will be.” Namjoon swallows, a little hesitant, “do you... um... wanna talk about it?” Taehyung shakes his head, “no. It's whatever. It was just a crush. Kissed him and now I am done.”
Namjoon lets out a deep breath, “he didn't call you in these past three days, did he?” Taehyung stays silent. Namjoon gets up, coming up behind Taehyung to squeeze his shoulders, “he was, for once, being reasonable,” he chuckles, “he was giving you space and me too. I guess.”
“I don't want to discuss him with you, hyung,” Taehyung looks at Namjoon, “it doesn't make me feel comfortable. I will do what I prefer and you,” his lips quirk up, “my 'soon-going-to-be-lawyer,' brother have to hold himself back from suing me for that.” Namjoon nods, “fine.”
==== Taehyung goes to the club with Jimin. They awkwardly walk up to the booth where the others are. Taehyung keeps his eyes from wandering and sits down beside Jimin at the edge of the round booth. His eyes skim over the booth to see Jungkook is not present. So is Yoongi.
“Yoongi have a date,” Jin holds out a shot glass for Jimin and one for Taehyung, “Jungkook might show up, but he's late. Let's start.” Taehyung gulps down the shot. From the corner of his eyes, he sees Hoseok and Jimin leaning in to talk among themselves. He smirks.
“We will go and dance,” Hoseok gets up, “anyone wants to join?” he shakes his head before anyone can answer, “no one? Okay, then. Mimi, let's go.” He almost drags Jimin out of the booth. “Oh, great,” Taehyung sighs, “now, it's just us and awkward.” Jin hums, “where is kookie?”
“Sorry, we are late.” Taehyung looks over to see Jungkook and Yoongi come towards the booth. Both hurry to sit and let out a long breath. Jungkook waves his hand, “Yoongi ditched his date, I had to go and pick him up.” Yoongi makes a face, “he is too boring.”
Taehyung looks down at his empty shot glass while Yoongi fills them up on the details. When he looks up, Jungkook is staring at him. As soon as their eyes meet, the alpha looks away. Taehyung sits there, watching them all talk and feeling like the odd one. It's not his group.
This is his brother's friends and he is sitting at the edge of the booth and watching them talk about people he doesn't know or share inside jokes he is not a part of. He looks over at the dance floor and frowns when he doesn't see Hoseok or Jimin. “Where did they go?”
Yoongi looks over at him and frowns, “who?” Taehyung points at the dance floor, “Hobi hyung and Jiminie? They went to dance.” Yoongi risks a glance at the floor and shrugs, looking back at Taehyung, “probably went to the washroom or back alley to makeout.” Taehyung chokes.
Taehyung gets up, “I will go and check.” Namjoon winces, “why are you being a bone between them? Let them bone in peace.” Namjoon and Taehyung laugh, while Jin's eyes find Yoongi. Jungkook sits rigid. “I will go,” Jungkook gets up, “and buy some drinks. Anyone wants anything?”
Taehyung follows Jungkook down to the dance floor and finds no one there. “Where are you going?” Jungkook stops him when Taehyung turns towards the small corridor that leads to the back alley, “if they are, indeed, boning, you want to see it or what?” Taehyung ignores him.
When Jungkook follows him to the corridor, Taehyung snaps and looks over his shoulder at the alpha. “Ignore me just as you ignored me for the past three days, really,” he crosses his arms over his chest, “why are you coming after me?” Jungkook lets out a curse, “really?”
“What was I supposed to call you for?” he crowds Taehyung against the wall of the corridor when others pass by them, ignoring them in their hurry, “it's not like we were chat buddies. We barely ever talked.” Taehyung arches a brow, “right. Then, ignore me now, too. Fuck off.”
He walks out to the alley, the cold gush of wind making him shiver. Taehyung looks around and finds a few people milling around. Some are leaning against the wall, smoking. Some are making out. He looks at each one of them and frowns. None of them are Hoseok or Jimin.
“Where did they go?” Taehyung stomps his foot on the pavement, “mimi won't leave without telling me.” “There is a motel down the road,” Jungkook points with his chin, “cheap and handy.” Taehyung turns his glare towards Jungkook, “I think they would have more class than that!”
“Also, unlike you, everyone is not thinking about sex all the time!” he jabs a finger on Jungkook's chest, “like, seriously. Shut up!” Jungkook grasps Taehyung's hand in his, pulling him closer, “first of all, he introduced that place to me,” he arches a brow, “and, second...”
“Everyone is not holding everything to class like you,” his eyes roam over Taehyung's face, “you could have called too. It was your damn brother who told me to leave you alone. What do you expect me to do,” his eyes roam over Taehyung's face, “peach?” Taehyung glares.
“So, I was supposed to call?” he snorts, “just to hear you laugh at my face? Tell me off?” Jungkook pulls Taehyung closer, “I would not.” “You would,” Taehyung's voice waver, “you decided for the both of us that it was just a one time thing. That kiss. You would laugh at me.”
“My god, Taehyung,” Jungkook curses out loud, ignoring those wandering and startled eyes, “stop whining! I didn't call because I was giving you space! Also, what the f'ck were we supposed to talk about?! What's there to talk about?!” “Nothing!” Taehyung wrenches his wrist free.
“Fuck you, really!” Taehyung shouts on Jungkook's face, “I am whining, right?! Go and find someone who won't! Stop coming after me like a lost puppy! I didn't ask you to follow me. F'ck off, yeah?!” “F'ck this!” Jungkook curses, “you want to talk, let's talk! How was the kiss?!”
“Did you like it?!” Jungkook laughs, “was it up to your damn class?! Was it too messy?! Was I good? Did I grope you?!” Taehyung feels his face heat up, can feel eyes on them, “you are pathetic!” Jungkook snorts, “oh, I wasn't when you were sulking because I didn't kiss you!”
Taehyung balls his hands in fists, “I was not sulking!” Jungkook gives him a disbelieving laugh, “oh, are you sure? If I remember correctly, you were all upset and whiny about that too!” Taehyung shrugs, “well, maybe I regret that! It wasn't even worth it! The kiss was stupid!”
Jungkook steps up to Taehyung, his hand reaching out to hold Taehyung by his nape and pull him closer. “Just say you want me to kiss you again,” Jungkook whispers against Taehyung, “don't be a damn coward and whine about it. I know I am a good kisser. No questions asked, peach.”
Jungkook steps back, “I kissed you once, stood up to your damn brother for it. I am not going to do that again,” he shoves his hands in his pockets, takes several steps back, “so, stop whining and trying to rile me up, peach.” Taehyung fumes while Jungkook goes inside the club.
Taehyung storms inside to watch the alpha walk up to the booth where he sits across from Namjoon and Jin. Yoongi is not there. Taehyung doesn't let himself stop and think. He walks up to the booth, and Jungkook turns to look at him with a confused furrow of his brows.
It wipes right off his face when Taehyung grabs his face in both of his hands and captures the alpha's lips. Namjoon chokes on his drink. Eyes wide. Jungkook's eyes are wider, the alpha sits there, motionless. Then he groans, reaching out to pull Taehyung on his lap.
Taehyung bites Jungkook's lower lip, gritting his words out right against the alpha's lips. “Never, ever, ever think I need to whine for what I want,” he pulls back to glare at Jungkook, “also, I don't need you to stand up to my brother. I can take care of myself!”
Namjoon wheezes, choking on his words, “okay, I said I will turn a blind eye, but this is right in front of my eyes! What are you two doing?!” Jin winces, “why are you pushing it, Tae?” Taehyung stares at Jungkook, straddling his thigh still, “would you sleep with me?”
Jungkook's eyes flicker over to Namjoon for once, and then he is looking back at Taehyung. “He is literally staring,” Jungkook whispers, “like, both of them.” Taehyung shrugs, “you can ignore them. I would like to see him try to meddle.” Jungkook winces, “right. I see.”
Jungkook shakes his head, “I am kind of,” he hesitates, looking at Namjoon and back at Taehyung, “got kind of hard.” Taehyung arches a brow, “you... normally don't? If yes, we got a problem, buddy.” Jungkook curses, “how the f'ck am I to stand up and do the walk of shame?!”
Taehyung looks over at Namjoon, “we will leave.” Namjoon looks red in the face, he nods vigorously, “please, do! Just use protection,” he cringes, “just get out before I throw up. Oh, my god!” Taehyung gets off of Jungkook's lap and stares at the alpha. Jungkook stands up too.
“So,” Jungkook points over his shoulder, “we will just go...” he tries to smile at Namjoon who is glaring at him, “I will drop him off when we are done-” “Just go,” Namjoon waves, “oh, you are bad at this!” Jungkook rushes, grabbing Taehyung's hand and pulling him with him.
Taehyung startles, a breath caught in his chest when Jungkook throws the door of the club open and pushes him up against the wall outside. “Shit, you are going to kill me!” Jungkook curses, pulling Taehyung in a bruising kiss. Taehyung smiles, arms looping around his neck.
The alpha growls into the kiss, hands squeezing Taehyung's hips. Taehyung moans, already breathless. They pull back with a smacking sound of their lips and stare at each other. “Pull a stunt like that again, you will either lose him or me,” Jungkook pants, “one will die!”
“The only thing you are killing right now is time and my boner,” Taehyung shrugs, “are we going to have sex or not?” Jungkook curses, “come on, after that stunt?” he pulls Taehyung towards the parking, “hell, yeah!” Taehyung laughs, giddy, “good!”

“Are you sure about this?” Jungkook asks, kissing Taehyung while his hands work on Taehyung's clothes. The omega nods, eager hands pushing Jungkook's shirt off his figure. He stares at the inks on Jungkook, eyes trailing over the tattoos, then his fingertips running over them.
They are in Jungkook's house. In the alpha's bedroom. Taehyung feels the courage drain him when Jungkook unbuckles his shorts and let it drop to the floor. Taehyung doesn't match those eyes, staring intently at Jungkook's chest. Jungkook holds him by his hips, “peach? Sure?”
Jungkook asks him the same thing while he fingers lies Taehyung down on the bed. He asks again while his fingers start working to open up the omega. Taehyung grips Jungkook's shoulders, eyes focused on Jungkook's face. “You will tell me if you are not sure,” Jungkook murmurs.
Taehyung swallows, feeling those fingers in him, squirming, “it's a little uncomfortable,” he whines when Jungkook stops right away, “no, in the sense, like...” he looks away, face flushed, “no one ever,” he shrugs, “you know.” Jungkook's scent is heavy in the air, he hums.
Jungkook leans in to kiss Taehyung, “we can stop. You don't have to. You can just ask me to stop, and we will.” Taehyung breathes out, shaking his head, “no,” his arms loop around Jungkook's bare shoulder, “I want it to be you.” Jungkook's eyes are heavy on him, “right.”
Taehyung bites back a moan while Jungkook starts again. Slowly opening Taehyung up on his three fingers. Jungkook kisses him, peppers kisses all over Taehyung's face. “Doing so well for me, peach,” Jungkook murmurs, mesmerized eyes fixed on Taehyung, “looking so pretty for me.”
Taehyung watches Jungkook pull his hand away, reaching for the condom. He watches the alpha come up to position himself over him. Their eyes meeting again. “Sure, peach?” Jungkook whispers. Taehyung nods, legs parting more to let the alpha settle between them, “I am.”
Taehyung lets out a soft cry when Jungkook pushes in. The alpha groans when Taehyung's nails dig onto his back, leaving half-moon shaped imprints there. A few scratches as he slowly bottoms out. They both pant, looking at each other. Jungkook arches a brow at Taehyung.
“What?” Taehyung wonders, “what is it?” “Still okay?” Jungkook asks, not moving, “still fine?” Taehyung gives the alpha a small smile, teasing, “would you stop if I say I am not okay? You are in me.” Jungkook nods, determined, “I will. Whenever. If you don't want it, we stop.”
Jungkook leans in to capture Taehyung's lips in a gentle kiss, “I don't care how far we go, how far I am gone, you utter a word of discomfort, and we stop.” Taehyung's eyes fill with tears, his arms tightening around the alpha, “just move. I am fine. I promise.” Jungkook nods.
Jungkook starts to move, picking up speed but never getting rough. His eyes stay trained on Taehyung's face. Taehyung cannot match those eyes. He feels too much. It is all so overwhelming to him. But, he is not scared. He feels comforted because, when he looks up, it's Jungkook.
When Jungkook kisses him, Taehyung whimpers, tears rolling out of his eyes. Jungkook kisses them away, nuzzles closer to Taehyung's neck, face buried there. It doesn't take long for Taehyung's orgasm to hit him. Jungkook cums right after, finishing in the condom.
The alpha pulls away after giving Taehyung a small kiss on his lips. Taehyung watches Jungkook go to the washroom and he feels cold. Suddenly he is alone and cold. He looks at the bathroom and the reality settles in. What now? Is he supposed to get up and leave?
He is about to panic when Jungkook comes back, a wet towel in his hand. He silently cleans Taehyung up, pulling the duvet over him. “Rest,” the alpha murmurs, leaving a gentle kiss on Taehyung's forehead, “I will clean myself up and join you. Yeah?” Taehyung's chest hurts.
=== End of 🔞 ===
Jungkook goes back to the washroom and Taehyung curls in on himself. His face buried in Jungkook's pillow. The entire room smells of the alpha, and the pillows are soaked in his scent. Taehyung feels tears gather in his eyes, there is something nagging him. Something restless.
Unknown to him, Jungkook feels the same. The alpha stands under the lukewarm spray of the shower and stares at the tiles. His insides churn. The imprint burns inside him, his alpha clawing him to go and mark the omega up as theirs. He curses, tilting his face up at the spray.
Jungkook swallows the curses that hang on the tip of his tongue. He leans against the tiles, feeling the water cascade down. The knock on the door startles him. He looks over and frowns. “Yeah?” Taehyung peeks inside, “I feel alone.” Jungkook stares, blinking, “huh?”
Taehyung shrugs, “can I join you?” Jungkook stares some more. No one has ever requested to join him in the shower after sex. He blinks. Taehyung looks like he is restless, “I feel cold.” Jungkook breathes out a chuckle, “you are so demanding,” he shrugs, “come in.”
He reaches his hand out and takes Taehyung's hand in his. The shower stall is small. They stand face to face. Jungkook hums when Taehyung loops his arms around Jungkook's neck and leans in for a kiss. “So, next time just cuddle me for a bit,” Taehyung murmurs, “before leaving.”
Jungkook eyes him, “next time?” he echoes the words, “there will be a next time?” Taehyung looks at him, shrugs, “I mean, you tell me. You are kind of obsessed with my peach. So...” he makes a face. Jungkook breathes out a startled laugh, “well, that... yeah, I am.”
Jungkook hums, “okay. Next time, we will cuddle, and I will ignore all the body fluids sticking on us. No hygiene guidelines will be maintained. Got it!” Taehyung bites back a laugh, “who's going to complain? Not me!” Jungkook steals a kiss, “I won't, either.”
🌷🌷🌷
“Are you fine?” Jungkook asks when he drops Taehyung off in front of his house the next morning, “you look tired.” Taehyung rolls his eyes, cheeks tinted, well, we didn't really sleep last night. Did we?” The tips of Jungkook's ears are red too, he makes a face, “sorry?”
Jungkook glances at the house behind Taehyung and back at the omega. Taehyung is fidgeting where he stands, rolling the hem of his sleeve around his fingers. Jungkook reaches out with his left hand, going easily to wrap around Taehyung's nape.
With that gentle hold, he pulls the omega to himself. Taehyung grasps at Jungkook's thigh, leaning down to let the alpha kiss him. “I will see you later, peach,” Jungkook pulls back, eyes roaming over Taehyung's face, “yeah?” Taehyung nods, sporting a small smile, “yeah.”
====
“What's going on between you two?” Yoongi asks Jungkook, waiting on his bike while the others load up Jin's car, “you and Taehyung.” Jungkook watches Taehyung walk out of the house with Jimin, “nothing...?” he looks at Yoongi, shrugs, “I mean, we slept together.”
Yoongi nods, “is that going to continue in uni too? Or, was it a one-time thing?” Jungkook looks at the alpha, “we haven't talked about it. I mean,” he looks at Namjoon and back at Yoongi, “I am not really big on relationship and all. You know it.” Yoongi chuckles, “yeah.”
Jungkook watches Jimin walk over to Hoseok and looks at Yoongi. “Did you tell Jimin how you feel?” Yoongi chokes on thin air, coughing, “are you crazy?” he gives Jungkook a warning glare, “no, and I am never going to. Keep it to yourself, will you?” Jungkook stares, “sure.”
“Can I ride with you?” Jungkook looks at the side where Taehyung is standing, eyes on him. Jungkook arches a brow. “You are not going with Jimin?” Taehyung shakes his head, “he is going with Hobi hyung on his bike.” Jungkook risks a glance at Yoongi and nods, “sure.”
“Everyone got everything?” Jin calls, “I am dropping the keys off at my parents' house. If you need anything, just get it now! I am not turning my car back!” Yoongi snorts, “yeah, he is not turning back until he reaches the end of the world.” That earns him a glare from Jin.
----- Jungkook doesn't see Taehyung for a few days. Busy with the new semester and his classes back to back. Taehyung is the same. His building is far away from Jungkook's too, on the different side of the campus. So, Jungkook was not expecting the omega to show up to his dorm.
“What's wrong?” Jungkook asks, closing the door behind himself after he invites Taehyung inside. Taehyung looks at him, “Jimin told me he saw you with Minjoon yesterday.” Jungkook's brows furrow in confusion, “Uhh. Okay…?” Taehyung stares, “you know about the rumours, right?”
“That I am sleeping with him?” Jungkook nods, “yeah,” he shrugs when Taehyung blinks, “we did. Couple of times. Why?” Taehyung is quiet for a few seconds before he looks away, “last night...” Jungkook sighs, combing his hair back, “Taehyung, I didn't, but if I did, so what?”
“We are not in a relationship, Tae,” Jungkook shakes his head, “we are not dating. Are we?” Taehyung looks down at his hands, “no,” his voice is thin, “no, we are not.” Jungkook nods, walking up to Taehyung to hold his hands, “you told me it was a one-time thing between us.”
Taehyung swallows, grasping Jungkook's hands in his, “so, it's okay, if I go sleeping around too?” Jungkook watches the omega, “you don't need permission from me, Tae. It's your life. You don't need anyone's permission to do what pleases you.” There is silence, too heavy.
Then Taehyung pulls away, retreats his hands from Jungkook's hold. “Right,” he rubs his hands on his jeans, nodding to himself, “right, no, because,” he gives Jungkook a garbled laugh, “Seojoon hyung asked me out. I just,” he waves his hand, “thought you should know.”
Jungkook nods, “he is a nice guy.” Taehyung's lips curl, he snickers, “yeah. A nice guy. I know,” he steps away from Jungkook, “I will go now,” he looks at the door, “let me not keep you from your work and,” those eyes find Jungkook again, “people.” The omega storms out.
---- Taehyung shows up the next day in the cafeteria with Seojoon. Jungkook moves, along with the others, to make some space for them. “So, I heard you went on a date?” Hoseok asks, smiling at the two of them, “how was it?” Seojoon chuckles, “it was good. It was just dinner.”
Jungkook focuses on the food in front of him. Eating the fried chicken while he listens to the others talk. “Ah, I see,” Hoseok nods, “next time, we can do a double date.” The entire table turns to Hoseok and Hoseok nods. “Me and Jimin are dating,” the alpha grins at them.
Jungkook watches how Jimin turns red, everyone's eyes on them. Taehyung gapes at Jimin, his eyes wide, “wh-” he frowns, “what?” Hoseok looks at Jin and Namjoon, “or, you two can join in too. It will be nice!” Jungkook risks a glance at Yoongi who is too focused in his food.
Seojoon looks over at Namjoon, “yeah, I mean,” he looks at Taehyung, “we can surely do that if Tae agrees to go on another date with me.” Taehyung looks at the alpha and back at Jimin. Jungkook notices their eyes meet and something transfer between the two omegas.
“How about we all go for clubbing?” Taehyung wonders, “now that me and mimi can join you all. How does that sound?” Jungkook looks at Yoongi, kicking him under the table. The alpha winces, jolting upright. Everyone's eyes turn to him, and Yoongi is glaring at Jungkook.
Yoongi waves his hand, “me and Jungkook have plans.” The table goes quiet. Hoseok arches a brow, “what plan?” Jungkook coughs in his hand, “we two are kind of going for a bike race,” he winces when everyone gasps, “this is the reason we didn't tell you all. Stop panicking!”
“It's kind of a bet,” Yoongi sips his Americano, “the loser will tattoo a middle finger on them.” Jungkook's lips twitch, “you mean, you.” Yoongi rolls his eyes, “keep dreaming-” “But, isn't it illegal?” Namjoon frowns, “racing?” Jungkook sighs, “yes, lawyer Joon. It is.”
“What are you going to do?” Yoongi chuckles, getting up, “sue me?” Jungkook gets up too, slinging the backpack on his shoulder, “right.” “You two are the most irresponsible guys I have ever met,” Seojoon's quip makes them both stop, the alpha smiles, “and, you never changed.”
Jungkook watches Seojoon's hand land casually on Taehyung's jean-clad thigh. The alpha holds there, so casually. His eyes flicker over to Taehyung, who is looking at him already. For a second, Jungkook just watches Taehyung, and then he smiles at Seojoon. Shrugs, and walks away.
==== Jungkook feels the yearning. There is something draining about the way the day carries on. Jungkook bunks the last two classes to go and crash at Yoongi's room. Yoongi is sitting by the window, cracked open, so he can smoke there in peace. Jungkook just lies on his bed.
“Can I tell you something?” Jungkook stares at the ceiling, “something between us?” Yoongi hums, eyes cast out, “sure.” “Taehyung imprinted me,” Jungkook blurts out, waits for the outburst. When nothing comes, he looks at Yoongi. Yoongi is still looking outside.
“What? Too shocked to say anything?” Jungkook tries to laugh. Yoongi shakes his head, gives him a glance and looks out again. “You two being soulmates makes the most sense,” Yoongi lets out a ring of smoke, “why would I be shocked?” Jungkook blinks, sitting up, “what?”
Yoongi gives Jungkook a tender look, “what? We all know, it's just about time before you two settle,” his lips twitch, “like, puzzle pieces, going around from one to another until they find the perfect match and settle.” Jungkook's throat feels tight, “we are not puzzle pieces.”
“I am not made for-” Jungkook gets up, waving his hands frantically, “whatever he wants. I am not-” “You are,” Yoongi closes his eyes, “you are just not there yet,” he drops the cigarette in the ashtray, “you will be. Just, take your time to realize on your own.”
Jungkook watches Yoongi, “you talk like you have it all figured out.” Yoongi laughs, looking at him, “that's how soul bond works, Kook,” he arches a brow, “Jin found Namjoon. Jimin found Hoba. Tae,” he shrugs, “found you. Soulmates are made for each other. They find a way.”
“That's the point, is it not?” Jungkook sits down in front of Yoongi, on the windowsill, “what if,” he closes his eyes, balling his fists, “what if whatever he feels for me is nothing but the soul bond? What if it's just the universe f'cking up and not really in his hands?”
Yoongi looks at him, “that is a thing. Yeah.” Jungkook leans back against the window, “his imprint worked, out of everyone else who probably wanted me, because he is my soulmate. Kind of. No? What if he was made to feel how he feels?” Yoongi doesn't say anything.
“What if it's not really him feeling it at all?” he looks down at his hands, “it's the damn universe twisting and manipulating us into a fit as it sees? You know how many relationships turn sour after mating, no?” Yoongi nods, “take my parents for example.”
Jungkook agrees eagerly, “yeah! Take your parents for example. I have never seen them happy.” Yoongi laughs, “happy? Appa manipulated my papa to marry him because of the soul bond and after mating, he went back to his lifestyle of bedding whoever he wants. It sucks.”
“The soulbond forces you two together,” Jungkook closes his eyes, “it never guarantees a happily ever after. It doesn't care about feelings. As long as it's physically consummated, the bond doesn't go beyond it.”
Yoongi chuckles, “it doesn't care if the puzzle pieces make a happy picture or a sad one. It just cares that it's a picture.” Jungkook snorts, “and, I know, our picture will be the gloomiest one out there. I just know it.” Yoongi squeezes his knee, saying nothing.
“I'll go,” Jungkook gets up, “also, there is no race. What are we doing tonight?” Yoongi makes a face, “we can just go on a long drive. Or, crash a party in the campus. Who cares? I just don't,” he gulps, “I just don't want to go where they are.” Jungkook hates how he gets it.
---- Taehyung feels those hands on his hips. He smiles up at the man, swaying side to side. His eyes flicker over to where Jimin is, dancing with Hoseok. They are smiling, enjoying themselves. “You look handsome tonight,” Seojoon says, “I like the red shirt.” Taehyung smiles.
He feels the alpha's hands tighten around him for a fraction of a second. Those eyes glancing at his lips and then looking back up at him. Taehyung knows he would never. He knows he would never be able to kiss Seojoon. So, he pulls away. “I will get a drink,” he murmurs.
He looks over at where Jimin is and Jimin is looking at him too. Taehyung starts walking towards the bar and Jimin follows after saying something to Hoseok. Taehyung orders Virgin Mojitos for the two of them, sitting and stirring the straw aimlessly. Jimin takes the next seat.
“Why am I doing this?” Taehyung wonders, “who am I trying to show that I am not a lost puppy with a crush? I shouldn't care, right? I can be single and mind my business and not think I look like a loser? No?” Jimin's throat bobs, “you surely can. Not like he is your soulmate.”
Taehyung frowns, “what do you mean by that?” Jimin jerks his shoulders, sipping from his cup, “you know. If he is your soulmate, then you have to make it work. The universe chose them for you. There must be a reason.” Taehyung blinks, “umm…” he thinks, “I don't know.”
Jimin reaches out to squeeze Taehyung's hand in his, “how about you wait, Tae? When you find your soulmate, it will be the best, yeah?” Taehyung looks at Jimin with curious eyes, “is it?” he wonders, “the best?” Jimin looks at where Hoseok is, “I mean, yeah? He is so good?”
“I have always had a crush on him,” Jimin blushes, “it makes sense now. You know?” Taehyung lets out a soft smile, “I am happy for you two. I really didn't think it will be you two for each other. But, I am glad that you are happy.” Jimin nods, “he makes me happy.”
“Your soulmate will feel better, Tae,” Jimin watches Hoseok, “he will make you the happiest. You will be a perfect match. Like, rail lines, side by side, taking the same path. It will be the best-” Taehyung looks over Jimin's shoulder to see Jungkook walk in through the door.
He goes rigid, watching the alpha look around until he sees Namjoon in the booth and walks over. Taehyung watches how Namjoon frowns, turning to Jin, and they get up. Jin goes to the dance floor to get Hoseok and Seojoon while Namjoon comes towards the bar. “We have to leave.”
“What happened?” Taehyung frowns, getting off the stool already. “There was an accident,” Jungkook murmurs, “Yoongi's bike was hit by a car. The damn driver was drunk.” Taehyung feels the swoop in his stomach, “where is he?” “He is fine,” Jungkook nods, “in the hospital.”
“You all won't pick up my calls,” Jungkook rubs his temple, “after the doctors said he is fine, I came to inform.” Namjoon nods, “I'll go with you,” he looks over at Jin, “babe, get them back, yeah?” Jin stares, face pale, “yeah, I will.” Taehyung reaches for Jungkook, “wait.”
Taehyung frowns, stepping closer, “you are bleeding too,” he looks at Jungkook's jacket, “it's torn.” The alpha's jacket is torn around the elbow, angry skin oozing blood. “His bike slid across and hit mine,” Jungkook shrugs, “I really am fine. It's not even a few cuts.”
Taehyung grips the alpha's hand, “I will go with you.” Jungkook hesitates, looking over his shoulder at Seojoon who just joined them and back at Taehyung. “I am fine, Tae,” he tries to assure, “the doctor checked me too. Trust me. It's all good.”
Taehyung still refuses to let go, his panic clear in his eyes. “Tae, you take Jungkook home,” Jimin quips, holding out his keys, “I will go with them to the hospital.” Taehyung looks at Jimin, “are you sure?” Jimin nods, “I can come back on Hobi hyung's bike. Go.”
Taehyung looks at Seojoon, “I will see you, yeah?” Seojoon looks a little confused, out of the place, he nods, “sure. I will call.” Taehyung doesn't wait for more, he pulls Jungkook with himself to the car and gets in after the alpha. Jungkook sighs, “you really didn't have-”
Taehyung starts the car, speeding up. His heart races, the thought of anything going wrong still making his skin crawl. Jungkook takes a few glances at him, but doesn't utter a word throughout the journey. Maybe because he can smell the omega's stress and he is tired himself.
When they are finally in the dorm, Jungkook limps over to his bed. Sitting down with a curse. “Thank-” “Why can't you stop hurting yourself?” Taehyung demands, interrupting Jungkook, “why can't you stop being so pessimist and try to sabotage everything that's going right?!”
“What if the car was a truck?!” Taehyung stomps his foot on the ground, “what if you both crashed against it?! What if hyung's bike hit you somewhere sensitive?!” Jungkook winces, “Well, my legs were crossed as soon as the crash happened.” Taehyung looks murderous, “shut up!”
“Is this a joke to you?!” Taehyung's voice rises, “how the hell are you making jokes right now, when-” Jungkook watches Taehyung's eyes pool with tears. He sits there, immobile, and watches Taehyung's face contort with sheer worry. For him. Jungkook feels the crash now.
The way his breath gets knocked out of him as soon as a teardrop roll out of those eyes is immaculate. Jungkook reaches instinctively, pulling Taehyung to himself. Making the omega sit on his lap. “Hey,” he tries, voice an octave lower, “peach, I am fine.” Taehyung sniffles.
He refuses to match Jungkook's eyes, “something could have happened,” his voice tremble, “it could have killed you,” those eyes flutter closed, “what if it killed you?” Jungkook feels the adrenaline settle, the thought of dying never crossed his mind. He watches Taehyung.
“Death never really,” Jungkook thinks, “it never really scares me because, it's kind of freeing?” he frowns at his own wording, “I mean, I will just-” Taehyung glares at him, “finish it, I dare you.” Jungkook gives a soft smile, “okay,” his arms loop around Taehyung, “got it.”
Taehyung's eyes are wandering all over his face, and Jungkook lets the omega look. He sits and lets the omega stare at him before Taehyung shifts a little to hug him. Those arms going around Jungkook in a tight grip. Jungkook thinks he might start to fear death now.
His arms loop around Taehyung's waist when he feels those silent tears against the crook of his neck. Jungkook rubs a hand down Taehyung's back, lips pressing on Taehyung's shoulder. “I am fine,” he whispers against Taehyung's ear, “I am absolutely fine, peach. Trust me.”
When Taehyung pulls back a little, his eyes settling on Jungkook, the alpha gives a small smile. “Perfectly fine, see?” Taehyung's eyes are unsure, wandering over Jungkook's face. They linger on Jungkook's lips, and Jungkook feels the churning in his guts again. That pull.
“How is Seojoon?” Jungkook asks, distracting himself, “how is-” “Mimi said I should wait for my soulmate” Taehyung whispers, voice thin, eyes glistening, “I think…” his lips wobble, “if my soulmate shows up some day, I would reject him for you…” Jungkook swallows.
Jungkook feels the searing pain again. The utter load of the truth he carries with him starts to push him down on his knees. He holds the omega's eyes and lets the worries go. If he is to crash, he will take it. “I am your soulmate,” Jungkook whispers back, “your chosen one.”
Taehyung goes rigid on Jungkook's lap. Jungkook feels the way his own muscles tighten up. “Wh-what?” Taehyung whispers. Jungkook nods, “you chose me. On your twentieth birthday,” he looks away, “I first felt the imprint.” Taehyung squirms back a little, “how did you feel it?”
Jungkook's eyes are anywhere but on him, “it sizzles in my veins. Like fire. It's not visible, but an alpha feels it.” “How do you know it's me?” Taehyung wonders, confused, “how-” Jungkook chuckles, “when you touch me, when you are near, the pain intensifies in me.”
“It's like getting a tattoo,” Jungkook tries to explain, “the needles penetrate my veins everywhere you touch.” Taehyung looks at where their hands are touching, “right now...?” Jungkook nods, “I feel it.” Taehyung's eyes water, “that night?” Jungkook nods, “I felt it.”
Taehyung pulls back, flinches, “why is it a special bond if it hurts?” Jungkook chuckles, “because, there is a sense of urgency. I am not accepting the bond,” he looks at where Taehyung's hand is, “if I gave in, if we mate, it will subdue.” Taehyung swallows, “oh.”
“Is this why Hobi hyung and Jiminie thinking of mating so soon?” Jungkook nods, “that's why. It's like, keeping two parts of magnets away from each other. It pulls. It tries to link back together. When there is resistance, it hurts.” Taehyung sits there, taking it all in.
Taehyung bites his lower lip, “I have heard the mated couple gets a tattoo.” Jungkook hums, “of the time the universe granted the omega's wish to be with the alpha.” Taehyung looks at Jungkook, eyes searching, “you think you are my one wish granted?” Jungkook laughs, “yeah?”
🍑🍑🍑
“If you are,” Taehyung swallows, “then...” he looks down between them, shoulders slumping, “why can't you accept me?” The question throws Jungkook off-guard. He watches the omega on his lap and tries to gather his scattered thoughts enough to answer. Taehyung beats him to it.
“I am demanding too much, am I not?” Taehyung lets out a deep breath, nodding to himself, “I will go, but, first,” he gets up from Jungkook's lap, “let me settle you in the bed.” Jungkook tries to say something, but Taehyung is already helping him get out of his jacket.
“So,” Taehyung carefully places the jacket on the chair next to the bed, eyes resolutely on his own hands, “how does this bond break? I have heard the omega can reject it?” Jungkook nods, looking on, while Taehyung goes to his small wardrobe to pull out his night clothes.
“Yeah,” Jungkook gets up, taking the towel from the omega's hand, limping towards the bathroom, “the omega needs to reject the alpha.” “So, I just have to say that I reject you?” Taehyung wonders, “is that it?” Jungkook shakes his head, “you have to mean it.”
Taehyung looks at him. Jungkook is already looking at the omega. The silence between them feels thick. Jungkook watches, the omega fidget, troubled. He inhales the omega's stressed scent, and then Taehyung's lips twitch. He looks utterly broken.
“How do I do that?” Taehyung wonders, trying to make it light, but his eyes gleam, “I didn't want to fall for you,” his voice waver, “now how do I know how to get over you.” Jungkook looks away, grasping the towel in his hands. Taehyung wipes his eyes, “that's the reason, huh?”
“That's the reason you were so excited about my date with Seojoon hyung,” Taehyung chuckles to himself, “you were probably so happy?” He takes a step back, “and, here I was,” he waves his hand, “kept comparing him to you. Kept thinking, like a fool, what can I possibly do to-”
“make you look at me and feel something,” Taehyung shakes his head, face crumbling, “I hope,” he looks up at Jungkook then, tears swimming in those eyes, “the bond breaks, and you get the freedom you always wished for.” Jungkook stands there, motionless. His muscles taut.
Taehyung inhales deeply, hugging himself, “I don't know how it works or how I am supposed to feel, but I hope the bond breaks. Because,” Taehyung shakes his head, tears spilling out of his eyes, “I can't put shackles around you and I refuse to beg for you to want me.”
“Tae-” Jungkook reaches out a hand, but Taehyung flinches, stepping back. “I love you, you know?” Taehyung's voice rings in Jungkook's ears, “enough to let you go.” The omega bites down on his lower lip, almost speeding out of the room, leaving Jungkook alone.
Something snaps inside Jungkook. He doubles over, grasping the chair, as he feels the raging fire course through him. He looks down at his hands, as if he will see the skin tearing apart and blood coming out. Nothing. But, it feels like his insides are tearing apart.
His alpha howls in him, the pain shooting through him. It feels like someone is chopping off a part of him, a part of his soul. “𝐼 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑒𝑛𝑜𝑢𝑔𝘩 𝑡𝑜 𝑙𝑒𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑔𝑜.” Jungkook drops on his knees, panting. The blinding fear of loss starts to consume him.
'When the bond breaks, the pain is crucial for a few seconds,' his doctor had said, 'but, after that, you will be free. That constant buzz of needle piercing through you, that pain, it all will be gone.' Jungkook blinks back tears, eyes wide, when the buzz suddenly stops.
He looks down at himself, checking his arms and looking down at himself. Nothing. That constant companion of months, that nagging pain of pins pricking his skin, it's all gone. Jungkook holds his breath, flexing his muscles and trying to feel that pain again.
“𝐼 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑒𝑛𝑜𝑢𝑔𝘩 𝑡𝑜 𝑙𝑒𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑔𝑜.” Jungkook blinks back tears, his head buzzing. “𝐼 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑒𝑛𝑜𝑢𝑔𝘩 𝑡𝑜 𝑙𝑒𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑔𝑜.” He slowly gets up by supporting himself on the chair and sits on it. Breathless. He feels like himself again.
“𝐼 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢.” Jungkook chokes on a dry sob, “what…” he swallows, “what do you mean, you… you love me?” He looks at the window, the darkness greets him. “What do you mean you love me?” Jungkook tries to breathe, his eyes watering, “it was just a crush. Tae…”
Jungkook stands up too quickly, falling on his hands and knees before he is standing up again and running for the door. His ankle protests, still hurt from the accident. He feels the cold wind against himself as he dashes down the stairs of his dorm. It's snowing outside.
He looks at the streets and shivers in his thin T-shirt and no jacket. With a curse, he starts towards Taehyung's dorm. Hoping, begging, wishing for Taehyung to be in his dorm. He ignores the throbbing pain of his ankle while he runs to the omega's dorm and up the stairs.
Jungkook pants, chest heaving, when he finally reaches Taehyung's floor and he stops. Motionless. At the end of the corridor is Taehyung's room. The dim lights of the corridor showers over the two people who stand there. Seojoon. With his arms wrapped around Taehyung.
Taehyung is sobbing, grasping onto Seojoon. Seojoon on the other hand, his holding him protectively. His lips pressed against Taehyung's hair. The omega short enough to fit under his chin. They make a nice pair. Jungkook stumbles, holding the railing, as he watches them.
Jungkook thinks how he is a little shorter than Taehyung himself. How he would never be able to comfort Taehyung like Seojoon is doing, he would never know those kind words that Seojoon is murmuring to him. Taehyung buries his face in Seojoon's chest and Jungkook steps back.
He watches Seojoon cup Taehyung's face, tilting the omega's face up to look down at him. Taehyung's tears roll out from the corners of his eyes. Seojoon leans in to press his lips against Taehyung's forehead, saying something. Jungkook watches, breathless.
Seojoon's lips touch Taehyung's eyelids next, and Jungkook takes another step back. He did that to Taehyung. He watches how the omega sobs, his whole body trembling with the force of it. He did that to Taehyung. He broke Taehyung. Just as he knew he will. Jungkook snorts.
He watches how Taehyung's hands grasp at Seojoon for dear life. How the omega looks at the alpha with so much trust in those eyes. Seojoon's eyes flicker to Taehyung's lips, and Jungkook turns on his heels. He climbs the steps two at a time and leaves the building in a rush.
Jungkook wipes his eyes furiously. Angry at himself that he is feeling so suffocated. He looks at the empty streets and starts walking back to his dorm. But he cannot. Not when his ankle is protesting so much. He grasps a lamp-post and stands. Looking around for a cab.
When the cab comes, Jungkook gives the address for the hospital. He would much rather be there than alone in his room. === Jungkook gets out of the lift to the floor where Yoongi's cabin is and walks up to it. He opens the door and pauses, eyes on the two people inside.
Jimin is sitting on the edge of the bed, his back to Jungkook. He is crying, the way his shoulders tremble, it's clear he is sobbing. Yoongi looks troubled, his shoulder bandaged. He is to not move his arm. The other hand is grasped in Jimin's clutch. Jungkook blinks.
Yoongi notices him first, his eyes widening. “Jungkook.” Jimin flinches, springing away from Yoongi. He looks over his shoulder at Jungkook, and Jungkook startles when he sees those red-rimmed eyes, blotchy cheeks. Jimin stands up, wiping his face, “I will be outside.”
“What...” Jungkook watches Jimin rush out and turn to Yoongi, “what happened there?” Yoongi looks as clueless as Jungkook feels. “He was here when I woke up,” Yoongi shrugs, “started screaming at me about me being reckless. I got pissed and told him it's not his business.”
“Asked him even if I die, why does he care,” Yoongi shrugs, “well,” the alpha looks lost, “after that, it's all a blur. He burst out crying, I got all shocked... I don't know.” Jungkook takes Jimin's place, resting his elbows on his thighs and hiding his face in his palms.
“I told Tae what the soulmate imprint is,” Jungkook murmurs, looking down at the floor, “he broke it all off.” The silence greets him. He waits. Yoongi groans at last, “I am injured, I am not meant to have these confused situations thrown at my face right now, you realize?!”
“Why are you upset? You wanted this?” Yoongi combs his hair back, frustrated, “or, you just need some alone time-” “I went after him,” Jungkook murmurs, “to find him. He was in front of his dorm. Hugging Seojoon.” Yoongi watches him, “Seojoon hyung.” Jungkook rolls his eyes.
“Since when you care about formalities?” Jungkook wonders. Yoongi snorts, “since forever. Hello, I am not a brut.” Jungkook reaches out to help Yoongi when the alpha tries to lie down. Yoongi looks up at the ceiling, “if you wanted this, then don't go after him, Jungkook.”
“You owe him the space,” Yoongi looks at Jungkook with a small smile, “you owe yourself that space. Don't go after him when the thought of settling down scares you. It's not worth it.” Jungkook kicks his shoes off, ignores Yoongi's protests, and lies down beside him.
“The bed is not big enough for us, or sturdy enough for us,” Yoongi curses out loud when Jungkook throws a leg over his waist, “and, the nurse will have a heart attack if she sees us like thi-” “I don't want to be alone,” Jungkook murmurs, “tonight. Please.” Yoongi quiets down.
“I will sound like a hypocrite,” Jungkook buries his face against Yoongi's neck, voice tight, “and, you will still answer me honestly and promise me that you will forget about it tomorrow morning.” Yoongi hums, his arm going around Jungkook, “I promise, bub. What is it?”
“You think they kissed?” Jungkook wonders, grasps at Yoongi. Yoongi is quiet for a moment, and then he lets out a long breath. “If he kisses an omega who is clearly crying for another alpha, that speaks volume of him. Seojoon hyung isn't like that. Also, Tae would never.”
Jungkook buries closer to Yoongi, “we will forget this tomorrow.” Yoongi rubs Jungkook's back, hums, “just as all those breakdowns of ours we forgot as the sun rose? Sure.” Jungkook closes his eyes, exhausted. He falls asleep listening to Yoongi's heartbeat.
Jimin walks inside a few minutes later. His face blank and washed. “Hobi hyung said he got the meds the doctors didn't have here,” Jimin watches Jungkook in Yoongi's arms, “he will be back soon.” Yoongi nods, throat bobbing, “you should go home. Kook is here. I am fine.”
Jimin's eyes are heavy on him, “why can't you stop?” Yoongi looks at the omega, frowning, “stop what?” Jimin shrugs, looking away, “being so dysfunctional. So,” his throat bobs, “destructive.” Yoongi is quiet for a moment, his eyes boring on Jimin's face. Then he chuckles.
“Again,” Yoongi arches a brow, “none of your business, Jimin. If you would,” he gestures towards the door, “do me the honour. Leave.” Jimin watches him for a few seconds. Yoongi closes his eyes, arms tightening around Jungkook. Jimin leaves, closing the door behind himself.
==== Taehyung pulls back from Seojoon and the alpha visibly breaks out of the trance. Coughing awkwardly as he steps back from Taehyung. Taehyung hugs himself, looking anywhere but at Seojoon's face. “I don't want to lead you on, hyung,” he speaks, “I can't do this anymore.”
“I can't jump on you to try and forget Jungkook,” Taehyung wipes his eyes, “you are too good to be a rebound.” Seojoon smiles, “we can still be friends, Tae. You know that, right?” Taehyung looks at the alpha, “are you sure?” Seojoon nods, “of course. We can be friends.”
“Call me anytime,” Seojoon squeezes Taehyung's hand, stepping back, “and, I will be here.” Taehyung is grateful for that. With Yoongi's accident, everyone is busy. He doesn't want to disturb anyone. A friend of his own sounds good to him. He nods. “I will call you.”
🌷🌷🌷
Taehyung doesn't get out of the bed the next day. He replies to the group chat saying he is a little tired and would like for them to leave him alone. Jimin comes over to force him to eat something before the omega climbs on his bed and wraps Taehyung in a tight hug.
Taehyung buries his face against Jimin's neck, silent tears rolling out of his eyes. “I am so glad your soulmate loves you too, Mimi,” Taehyung murmurs, “so glad it worked out for you.” Jimin is quiet. His heartbeat stutters and he hugs Taehyung tighter. “Sleep, Tae.”
Taehyung wipes his eyes, looking up at the omega, “don't let him go. It's hard to find a soulmate as good as Hobi hyung. You know?” Jimin's eyes are stuck on the ceiling, he nods, “I know. I like him so much. He is everything nice.” Taehyung squirms closer, “good. That's good.”
“It will pass, right?” Taehyung wonders, “this pain,” his lips wobble, “I will get over it?” “Yes,” Jimin sounds sure, his eyes finally find Taehyung and there are tears there, “apparently, you can. You can move on without even realizing it. It will be fine.” Taehyung stares.
Jimin nods, wiping Taehyung's eyes with a tender smile. “You'll find someone without that soul imprint and fall in love,” Jimin's eyes are on Taehyung but they look like Jimin is not really looking at him, “and, you will be fine. You already broke the bond. You won't be guilty.”
“Just,” he pulls Taehyung to himself, letting the omega bury closer to his chest, “for now, sleep. Okay?” Taehyung buries his face in Jimin's chest, inhaling the omega's calming scent. He hopes Jimin is right. Because, there is no way he will ever run after Jungkook again.
==== Taehyung starts to spend more time with Seojoon. He assures Namjoon that he is okay and everything is fine. But, every time he refuses to join them for those cafeteria or club gatherings, Namjoon worries. Taehyung knows. He sees it affect Namjoon and Jungkook's friendship.
He can't really bring himself to care. He likes spending time with Seojoon. The alpha is very mature for his age and a somewhat grounding force. Taehyung meets Seojoon's friends. Hyung Sik, Woo Shik and Sung-hwan. They treat him like their youngest one. Care for him immensely.
“There is this road trip we are going on,” Hyung Sik tells him, the beta looks excited, “do you want to come?” Taehyung looks at the beta, thinking, “well, it's weekend,” he mulls the idea over, “why not?” Hyung Sik grins, “that's great! We will be back before Monday!”
“Hyung has a bike,” Woo Shik looks at Seojoon, “you can join hyung-” “No,” Taehyung tries to smile, “I am not really a bike person,” he looks at Seojoon, “I feel scared.” “We can take a car,” Seojoon's arm goes around Taehyung's shoulder, “that's better, really.”
Taehyung nods, “I will go now,” he looks at the message Namjoon sent him, about meeting the alpha, “see you later.” He walks by the campus, reading the next message that says Namjoon will be at the basket ball court. Taehyung sighs, taking the route.
Taehyung freezes when he is near the court and looks up at the court. Namjoon is sitting on the bench, beside Yoongi. While Hosesok gives Yoongi a head massage. Jin and Jungkook are playing basketball. Jungkook is wearing a red jacket over his black attire. His smile teasing.
It's a different type of pain to see the person who is the reason of his heartbreak, is smiling. Looking so carefree and, Taehyung lets out a breath, free. Jungkook looks free. Taehyung chuckles to himself, thinking how the alpha wanted just that. To be free from Taehyung.
Taehyung schools his features before he walks inside the court. He ignores how Jin and Jungkook stop playing as soon as they see him. He keeps his eyes on Namjoon while he walks up to the alpha. “You wanted to meet,” Taehyung says when Namjoon meets him halfway, “what is it?”
Namjoon arches a brow, “I need a reason to meet my own brother?” Taehyung sighs, “come on, hyung. You can drop by my dorm any time. Why did you ask me to be here?” Namjoon nods, “well, we are planning a trip this weekend,” he jerks his head towards the others, “all of us.”
“I have a plan,” Taehyung says, cherishes the moment while saying it, “me and my friends are going away for the weekend.” It feels good to finally have a few friends of his own. Who are just his circle.
Feels good to know they chose him. They don't just tolerate him or got used to him because he is Namjoon's little brother. Taehyung gives Namjoon a small smile, “I'm sorry.” Namjoon is a little flabbergasted, “a weekend away. Are you sure?” Taehyung nods, “yeah. I trust them.”
“Are there any alphas in the circle?” Namjoon wonders, “who-” “It's Seojoon hyung and a few more,” Taehyung waves his hand, “I will be fine.” Namjoon breathes out, “oh, yeah. I trust Seojoon hyung,” he hesitates, eyes skimming over Jungkook and back at Taehyung, “are you okay?”
Taehyung follows Namjoon's eyes to see Jin coming over to them while Jungkook still plays. Taehyung watches the alpha dribble the ball alone, going for the basket over and over again. He looks back at Namjoon with a small smile. “I am perfectly alright. Don't worry.”
“If that's all, can I go?” Jin comes over, “we are going to the restaurant we all wanted to try out-” “No, hyung,” Taehyung sighs, “I already ate. I will see you guys around.” He waves at Yoongi and Hoseok, blinking as he watches Hoseok back hug Yoongi, swaying side by side.
Yoongi grimaces, waving at Taehyung, “ignore him, he got extra clingy since my accident.” Taehyung breathes out a soft chuckle, turning to leave. “Call me,” Namjoon speaks after him, “when you leave for the trip.” Taehyung nods, “I will.”
Taehyung didn't notice the ball as it comes to hit him behind his knees. The force is light, but the shock makes him stumble, almost trip. “Shit! Careful.” Taehyung sucks in a breath when an arm loops around his waist, easily steadying him. Taehyung keeps his eyes ahead.
He pushes that arm off of him, chuckling, “I am trying to be careful, trust me,” he looks over his shoulder at the alpha, “but, it's hard when it feels like hurting me is like your nature by now.” Taehyung watches how Jungkook goes stiff, those eyes sharp on his face.
Then the alpha breathes out a small smile, “what can I say,” he combs his hair back, sweat glistening on his forehead, “you are always in my way.” Taehyung stops, eyes taking the alpha in. Jungkook doesn't move either. Behind them, the others are busy talking among themselves.
Taehyung feels the heartache start anew, he hates how his inside twists the more he looks at the alpha. “If it was up to me,” Taehyung murmurs, “I would never see your face again. Trust me.” He steps up to the alpha, a finger jabbing on Jungkook's chest. Jungkook doesn't move.
“You were right,” Taehyung swallows, “now that I am out of that damn spell of the soul imprint, I am realizing how I deserve better.” His lips curl down in distaste, “and, I am glad to tell you, I think I found them.” Jungkook's hand wraps around Taehyung's, easily engulfing it.
“I am glad you did,” Jungkook's thumb rubs over Taehyung's pulse under his wrist, “I am happy for you.” He drops Taehyung's hand and leans down to pick up the ball. Taehyung stands there, watching the alpha while Jungkook walk away. He turns away when his vision starts to blur.
==== “Sit at the front,” Wooshik says, “hyung will drive.” Taehyung ignores the smile Sunghwan and Wooshik share. There is something suggestive in the way they keep making Taehyung stay closer to Seojoon. Taehyung doesn't mind. He likes how comfortable Seojoon makes him feel.
Taehyung looks at the alpha who is driving and smiles when Seojoon reaches to ruffle his hair. Taehyung sighs, “I am bored.” Seojoon chuckles, eyes on the road, “what can I do to entertain you, my prince? I would do anything to make you happy.” Taehyung's smile dims.
He looks out of the window, eyes tracing the barren fields they are crossing. Snow piled up there, reflecting the sun. Taehyung closes his eyes, “I wish I knew what would make me happy.” Seojoon's hand comes up to rest on his knee, “tell me when you figure it out. I'll do it.”
Taehyung doesn't reply. His hand slowly reaches to rest on his thigh and as the journey continues, Seojoon's hand comes to rest on his. Taehyung burns, it would be so easy to just turn his palm up and let the alpha hold his hand. He closes his eyes, inhaling deeply.
Behind his eyelids, he sees that tattooed hand. Fingers lacing with his own. Both of them cuddled on the alpha's bed. Taehyung lying on Jungkook's bare chest and the alpha playing with his fingers, kissing each one before intertwining them with his own. Taehyung still feels it.
He pulls his hand away, blinking back the moisture that gathers in his eyes. He turns fully to the window. Eyes on the same view of snow. He refuses to see Seojoon's face. He refuses to see the most kind alpha he has ever meet and still compare him to Jungkook.
His phone buzzes. Taehyung opens it to see Namjoon's message. 'We are leaving for the trip. When you reach, let us know.' He sends back a thumbs up and, after hesitating for a second, opens Instagram to check Hoseok's profile. The alpha posts frequently.
Taehyung is right. The app loads and he sees Hoseok's post. Right at the top. Hoseok posted the group photo. They are taking Jin's car. Everyone looks out from the window, Jimin standing and waving through the sunroof. Taehyung smiles at Jimin, his eyes taking in every face.
His thumb hover over the heart when he sees the bike beside the car. Jungkook is on it. Yet to put on the helmet. Behind him is another guy. Taehyung stares, ignores how the voice in his head screams at him to just close the app, and zooms on the two of them.
The guy's hands are on Jungkook's thighs, chin resting on Jungkook's shoulder. Jungkook is giving a small smile to the camera. Taehyung swallows. There is a sense of nausea. He blinks. He chose to not go. He is glad.
But, the more he stares at the picture, the more it feels like the group never needed him. That they don't miss him, they are fine and probably better off without him. The thought is so unreasonable. Taehyung knows Namjoon, Jin, Hoseok, Jimin, Yooongi adore him to his bones.
Taehyung doesn't leave a like. He doesn't want to let them think that he is checking his phone on the trip. He knows no one would think so, probably, but he doesn't want to come off as he has nothing better to do. He closes the app and turns his phone to silent mode.
=== “We just reached,” Taehyung receives Namjoon's call when his phone buzzes for the fourth time, “sorry, I was busy.” Namjoon hums, “that's okay. We are still on the road. Can't believe we are almost on two different direction right now.” Taehyung smiles, “right.”
“Listen, tomorrow afternoon,” Namjoon starts, “we will cross the Yangdong Folk village. You all will cross it at the same time too, right?” Taehyung blinks, nodding, “uhh, yeah. Around the same time. Why?” Namjoon smiles, “we can meet for the tour there? Then go our ways?”
Taehyung groans, “no. I don't want to see your face for this trip. Leave me alone, hyung.” Namjoon chokes, “hey! What did my face do to you?! Everyone here is saying how much they miss you. Yoongi pointed out we can catch each other for a few hours on our way. Come on!”
“Come on, Tae,” it's Jimin now, “I miss you so much. Just for a few hours. We will take the tour of the village and then you can leave with your own gang. We are crossing paths there. Just for a few hours. Please? For me?” Taehyung looks at Seojoon, “let me talk to hyung first.”
“That's totally fine,” Seojoon agrees right away, “the village is popular for its historical background, and it will take some time to cover. We all can meet and enjoy the tour together. Surely.” Taehyung's shoulders slump, he hates it, “yeah, okay, then.” He cuts the call.
=== When they reach Yangdong Folk Village, the sun is over their heads. They will leave around evening. Taehyung watches the car pull up beside Jin's car. The others waiting around it. Taehyung gets out of the car, Seojoon parking it while the others get out after Taehyung.
Jimin comes rushing, hugging Taehyung, “I missed you!” Taehyung smiles, “it hasn't even been a full day!” Jimin shrugs, “I miss you if I don't see you for five minutes.” Taehyung's heart squeezes, “me too,” he murmurs, “I missed you too.” He missed them all.
Taehyung looks over when he catches movement from the corner of his eyes. Jungkook is parking the bike. His partner has a teasing smile on his lips as he wraps his arms around Jungkook's waist tightly, saying something in the alpha's ear that makes Jungkook smile.
Jungkook gets off the bike, booping the guy's nose. Taehyung looks away when the guy takes a hold of Jungkook's leather jacket and pulls him closer. “Now that we are here, let's go and take the tour,” Namjoon waves them over, “the guide awaits.” They all start moving then.
Taehyung walks close to Seojoon. The alpha probably notices his slumped shoulders because his arm comes to wrap around Taehyung. “Is everything alright?” Seojoon asks. Taehyung nods, eyes on the road ahead of him, “yeah. Just,” he presses closer, “stay by my side?”
“If we could stay overnight,” Namjoon sounds forlorn, “we could enjoy the hike. The longer route.” “Oh, my god, seriously, stop whining,” Hoseok sighs, “next time. We need to complete the journey by tomorrow.” Hyungsik smiles at Hoseok, “but, he is right. The tour is good.”
They all walk down the roads, looking around the heritages preserved for the tourists. The village is quiet, beautiful in its historical surroundings. Taehyung looks around the place, his eyes skimming over the things the guide points out. “Hey, guys,” Jungkook calls out.
Everyone looks over at him, and Jungkook points over his shoulder. “We will go that way,” he jerks his head towards the road of the hills, “when are we leaving?” Namjoon curses, “Kook! Stay with the group. I won't wait for you like last night when you two disappeared!”
Jungkook and the guy share a look. “Eunwoo wants to see the hills,” Jungkook makes a face, “see the sunset from there. You guys leave when you are done. My bike won't take long to catch up with you.” Taehyung watches Eunwoo tangle their palms together, “let's go?”
Jungkook's eyes find Eunwoo and the alpha gives him a teasing smile. “Yeah, let's go,” he turns on his heels, almost dragging Eunwoo after himself. Namjoon whispers to Jin, but Taehyung hears it anyway, “they are hooking up, aren't they?” Jin winces, coughing, “let's move!”
“That's like a lovers' spot,” Wooshik says, “the top of the hills. You can see the sun set and it's romantic. I get them.” Taehyung swallows. Seojoon reaches for his hand, making Taehyung jump. Taehyung looks at the alpha and the hand before he lets the alpha hold him.
The tour continues, but Taehyung cannot focus on anything. He cannot listen to the guide's words or focus on the things he points out. Taehyung pulls away from Seojoon, “hyung, you go ahead, I will,” he points at the road behind them, “go to the washroom. Then find you all.”
=== Taehyung walks the streets alone. There are not a lot of tourists at this time of the year. The roads are almost empty. He goes to the washroom and then takes an unknown road. He doesn't want to face anyone right now. He feels overwhelmed as it is. He would rather be alone.
Taehyung pushes his hands in the pockets of his jacket, his eyes on the trees as he walks. He finds himself near a field, from where he can see the sun slowly drifting towards the horizon. Taehyung watches it, eyes fixed there.
Even with his eyes stuck on the sun, he can see Eunwoo's hand in Jungkook's. He can see the teasing eye roll Jungkook gave him. He can see the secret smile the two of them shared. 'Last night…' Namjoon's voice echoes in his head. Taehyung sits on the roadside bench.
There is that stupid pain in the pit of his stomach. He grips the edge of the bench and stares at the setting sun. “I can't believe I wasted my entire life falling for you,” Taehyung murmurs, eyes burning, “and, I can't blame you. I can't blame you for not feeling the same.”
Taehyung buries his face in his hands when the tears topple over the rim of his eyes. “I can't believe I thought the soul imprint is now gone, and I will move right on,” Taehyung swallows, voice thick, “why can't I just forget it all? Shit, I wish I could blame you for it all.”
“But, you never lied about your feelings,” Taehyung wipes his eyes, looking at the sun again, “you never led me on. You never gave me false hope. It was always me,” he snorts, “thinking I can make you love me. Forgetting, you can't force someone's feelings. I am such an idiot!”
“I wish,” Taehyung looks down at his hands, “I wish I never wished for you. I wished to have you, like you were some property. So, the universe granted it. But, you didn't want me. I wish, I wished for you to love me,” Taehyung sniffles, “I wish I didn't wish anything at all.”
“I just,” Taehyung rubs his hands down on his pant, looking at the sun, “I wish I knew how to move on. I wish there was a quick way to forget it all. I took my entire life to fall for him. I can't,” his voice cracks, “I fear that it will take my entire life to get over him.”
Taehyung watches the sunset from there. He doesn't answer the calls until he hears Seojoon's voice, coming towards him. “Tae!” Seojoon sounds breathless, worry clear on his face, “fuck! You were gone for an hour! We all got so worried! What are you doing?!”
Taehyung sees the worry clear in Seojoon's eyes. He sees how the alpha pants for air. He smells the distress on the alpha. “Tae,” Seojoon comes to stand in front of him, “god, I was worried sick! All of us are! Let me call Namjoon-” Taehyung watches the alpha call Namjoon.
“I got so worried,” Seojoon sits down beside him, breathless, “what's wrong with you?” Taehyung knows then. Watching the alpha, he knows then. It will take him years to move on from Jungkook because Seojoon is right there, worried sick for him. And, he wished it was Jungkook.

🌷🌷🌷
He doesn't protest when Seojoon hugs him. He doesn't utter a word when Seojoon's lips nestle in his hair, hot breath escaping the alpha. “You made me so worried, my prince,” Seojoon whispers, his voice shaky, “do you know?” Taehyung hugs Seojoon, “I am sorry.”
Taehyung's eyes blur, and he is burying his face against Seojoon's chest. “I am sorry,” Taehyung chokes out, “I am so sorry. I am really sorry.” Seojoon probably gets it. Because the alpha lets out a soft chuckle. His hands tightening around Taehyung. “No need to apologize.”
“If you two could really inform others about your damn location, we won't have to drop everything and come running.” Taehyung freezes, head turning to see the man on the bike. Jungkook is glaring at them. His jaw locked. Seojoon pulls back, his voice confused, “what…?”
Taehyung watches Jungkook's jaw tightening, he scowls. Those sharp eyes moving from Seojoon to Taehyung. “Namjoon panic called me as if you got lost, and I came running,” he leans back, crossing his arms over his chest, “if he told me you two got lost together, I won't bother!”
Jungkook takes off his helmet, his long hair falling all over his face. He glares at the two of them and gestures with his jaw. “Call Namjoon and tell him you two are here, so he stops panicking. God, he got frantic!” “Stop dictating him what to do,” Taehyung frowns, “okay?”
Jungkook finally looks at him. Those eyes are impassive. “I won't if I wasn't dragged into this matter,” Jungkook picks up his helmet, “trust me. I can't care less where you two go.” Taehyung's hands ball up in fists, “next time, just ignore anything related to me. Simple!”
Jungkook's jaw twitches, “yeah, I am working on it.” He looks back at Seojoon, “just call Namjoon right now. He won't pick up my call. Tell him you got his brother.” Seojoon dials the number, turning away from them to talk to the alpha. Taehyung listens to them talk.
“Yeah, I will get him back,” Seojoon nods, “yes, he is fine. Don't worry,” the alpha's eyes shift to Taehyung, “he just got lost.” Taehyung watches Jungkook sit there, listening to the conversation. When Seojoon is about to cut the call, he holds out his hand silently.
Jungkook takes the phone, “hey, it's me,” he nods, “listen, me and Eunwoo will leave right now,” he rolls his eyes, listening to Namjoon for a second, “no, that's the point, Joon. I am tired of your cold shoulder responses. I don't need this, really. See you around.”
“No, that's the point, Namjoon,” Jungkook rubs a hand down his face, “you just got an image, and you are hell-bent to fit me in it. I get it, yeah? I seriously do. Just stop being so fucking rude to Eunwoo,” he lets out a laugh at whatever Namjoon says, “no, you don't know that!”
“Seriously, shut up!” Jungkook growls into the phone, making Taehyung flinch, “you had no damn right! You selfish prick, you want me to cut off of the group?! I will!” Taehyung hugs himself, watching Jungkook lose his temper. He watches the alpha's anger rise step by step.
“Listen, man, I brought my friends to these trips before too,” Jungkook combs his hair back, “you never had a problem. Don't fucking play saint with me here. I am not stupid! You had no right calling him names! Fuck you, really!” He cuts the call and gives Seojoon his phone.
Jungkook looks at Taehyung then, “this,” his voice is rough, “this is what I was talking about. Yeah? This is what I feared,” his voice oozes venom, “whatever happened between us, Namjoon had no right calling Eunwoo names because he thinks I am sleeping with Eunwoo!”
Jungkook wears his helmet, “tell your brother, he doesn't ever have to see me or Eunwoo's face again!” Taehyung reaches out, holding Jungkook's wrist, “what did he do?” Jungkook curses, “seriously, stay away from me. I am so damn angry right now, I might do something.”
Taehyung steps forward, eyes holding Jungkook's, “what happened?” Jungkook straps the helmet, “both of you brothers need to know when to respect someone's boundary. I told you to step back.” Taehyung doesn't move, “what did he do?” Jungkook glares, “he called Eunwoo names!”
“He literally called me and made me put him on speaker, so he can finally rant the shit he kept to himself since whatever happened between us,” Jungkook grits out, “he dragged Eunwoo and I can't even tell you the names he called Eunwoo for no damn reason! None at all!”
“I understand his feud with me,” Jungkook lets out a deep breath, “but, I refuse to let him speak shit on the only person after Yoongi hyung I trust enough around me when I am losing my shit. Eunwoo is not,” the alpha swallows, “he is one of my closest friends and that's it!”
“Eunwoo came on this trip because I begged him to,” Jungkook's throat bobs, “I wanted him here because Namjoon keeps giving me cold shoulder and I get it. Okay? I get him. But, I needed someone to be on my side when Yoongi is clearly dealing with his shit. He made Eunwoo cry!”
“For no reason,” Jungkook throws his hands up in frustration, “I feel so damn bad. I can't even look at Eunwoo now without feeling guilty. He didn't deserve all those accusations!” “I will apologize to him,” Taehyung murmurs, “on behalf of hyun-” “No,” Jungkook shakes his head.
“No,” Jungkook shakes his head again, “it's not your fault. It's not your fight,” he looks away, “I hurt you. You have every right to resent me and anything related to me. But, Joon had no right,” Jungkook starts the bike, “just... tell him he won't see my face again. I promise.”
Taehyung can't. He can't let go. No matter how much he wants to. He holds Jungkook's wrist with both of his. “Where is Eunwoo?” he asks, “I will apologize to him. Just take me to him. Hyung had no right to talk shit to him. I feel bad and it's not for hyung. I want to.”
“I can't let you,” Jungkook curses, “I can't let you. I can't stand and see you apologize for shit you didn't do,” Jungkook frees himself, “I don't want to ever see you in that position. It's fine, I will apologize to him. He is a good person. He will forget it. No worries.”
Jungkook swallows, his eyes wandering over Taehyung's face. “Just,” he shrugs, “next time, don't get lost like that,” he lets out a deep breath, “Namjoon kept screaming, Eunwoo cried, but all I could think about was you were out here, lost, scared, alone,” Jungkook looks away...
Jungkook looks over Taehyung's shoulder at Seojoon and back at Taehyung. “Go back now. They are all waiting in the village for you.” “And, you?” Taehyung feels the tug in his chest, “where-” “I am leaving,” Jungkook shrugs, “see you,” he looks at Seojoon, “take him back.”
Jungkook watches Seojoon come up behind Taehyung. Like a shield. He watches Taehyung lean back against the alpha, as if on instinct. As if he trusts the alpha to catch him if he falls. 'He is happy,' Jungkook lets out a deep breath, looking away, 'and, safe.' He drives away.
Eunwoo is waiting by the bus stop. Right where Jungkook left him before going to search for Taehyung. Eunwoo needed a moment to collect himself. Jungkook holds up his luggage, trying to smile at the omega, “I got our shit. Let's move now.” Eunwoo steps up to him, “Taehyung?”
Jungkook waits for Eunwoo to get on the bike, “he was out with his boyfriend,” he looks over his shoulder at Eunwoo, “they were probably trying to catch the sunset together. Hugging and all. I can't believe I ruined it.” Eunwoo looks at him, “they are... dating?”
“Yeah?” Jungkook arches a brow, a short laugh escaping his lips, “what? You didn't catch it on?” Eunwoo gets on the bike, wearing his helmet, “no?” Jungkook starts the bike, “they are. It's so obvious.” “Not to me,” Eunwoo rest his chin on Jungkook's shoulder, “explain.”
Jungkook speeds up on the empty village road, “well, you know how I saw them that night. Then, Taehyung is always with him. Their expressions speak a lot. Also, their friend group's suggestive look at them says a lot, too. Moreover, Tae ditched Jimin to go on that trip.”
Eunwoo hums, “so... in none of these situations, Taehyung himself told you he is dating Seojoon hyung. You just assumed from their body language and shit like glances?” Jungkook frowns, “those are obvious signs? Why would I ask him? That might come off as me being invasive?”
Eunwoo curses, “you moron! You got mad at Namjoon hyung for doing exactly what you are doing to Taehyung! Why are you assuming everything? Namjoon hyung said how you are too deep in me to even realize how much Taehyung is hurting. Does that not make you wonder why?”
Jungkook shakes his head, “don't. First, don't remind me what Namjoon said. I have half a mind of turning back and going to punch him in the face. Second,” his throat bobs, “I don't want to know. What's the point? What will I gain from his confirmation?”
“Peace?” Eunwoo sighs, “rest?” his hands squeeze Jungkook's taut shoulders, “since that day, you haven't rested, Jungkook. You are always trying to distract yourself. Crashing at mine, going to clubs. Every day telling me you will hook up with someone and just going home alone…”
“You keep thinking you are not good enough for him, fine,” Eunwoo nods, “fine, you are not. I will take that. Then, work on yourself? Be good enough? Because, clearly, you can't move on, Jungkook. You want him. In whichever sense, you want him. Maybe it scares you the most.”
“Now, you don't have the imprint to blame,” Eunwoo looks at the alpha, “do you? It's not the damn imprint holding you two together. You want him and there's nothing wrong in trying. He tried for you so many times. So what if you don't get him, just try? Once? Reach out. Come on.”
Eunwoo sighs, “listen, in your fear that you will break him, you are breaking him,” he pats Jungkook's back, “right now. When you were busy watching their suggestive glances, I was looking at Taehyung and that omega looks at you like he still wants you. Trust me. I know.”
“Just call him,” Eunwoo urges, “come on. Stop the bike and call him. Ask him to meet you. We are still in the village. You can still meet him and talk.” Jungkook looks at Eunwoo, the bike slowly coming to a halt, “where will you go?” Eunwook shrugs, “they have motels here.”
“I will just sleep the night,” Eunwoo curses, “my back hurts sitting on this damn bike for an entire day anyway.” Jungkook hesitates, “what can I possibly tell him-” “Be honest,” Eunwoo sighs, “now drop me off at a motel. Call him. Meet up. Just the two of you. Talk.”
“I will do it when we get back,” Jungkook shrugs, “he will be leaving the village by now. I don't want to delay him.” “Ask him if he can stay for you,” Eunwoo murmurs, “if he does,” the omega gives Jungkook a small smile, “that should be your first clue.” Jungkook stares.
“If he does stay, how exactly are we going back?” Jungkook rolls his eyes, “the three of us-” “Hey,” Eunwoo arches his brow sarcastically, “you might have only one friend outside that damn group, but I have a lot of them. I will call someone for a lift or rent a bike myself.”
Jungkook pulls out his phone, “no, I got you here,” he dials the number, “if he agrees to meet up, you take my bike back home. I will find a way home on my own.” Eunwoo hums, “that works too.” Jungkook holds his breath as the phone rings. He closes his eyes, listening to it.
“Hello?” Jungkook snaps his jaw closed, the voice itself twisting something in him. “Hey,” he bites the inside of his cheek, “did you leave the village already?” Taehyung's voice is quiet, “we are about to. Why?” Jungkook hums, “I think...” he winces, “can we talk?”
Taehyung is quiet. Jungkook rushes, “if no, it's completely fine. I know it might sound so cringe. How can you possibly delay the journe-” “Stop assuming how I feel every time,” Taehyung whispers, “I just want to know, talk about what?” “Us,” Jungkook breathes out, “about us.”
Taehyung chuckles, “us?” his voice dips, “what is 'us' to you, Jungkook?” Jungkook grips the helmet in his hand, “please, I know I messed up. Big time. I just... please.” Taehyung sighs, “what do you want me to do, Jungkook? Ask Seojoon hyung to drive off and leave me here?”
“Because, I screamed at Namjoon hyung and then Jin hyung lost his temper too. They left a few minutes ago,” Taehyung sounds tired, “so, if I ask Seojoon hyung to leave, I will be all alone here. What if you change your mind? Get scared and run away? What would I do then?”
“I know I messed up,” Jungkook whispers, watching Eunwoo get off the bike and walk a little away to give him some privacy, “but, you should know…” he swallows, “I would never leave you lost. I will never.” Taehyung doesn't answer right away. Jungkook holds his breath.
“I will wait by the parking area,” Taehyung murmurs. Jungkook chokes on a breath, relief coursing through him. “Yes,” he breathes out, “yes, okay. Just wait a bit. I will be right there.” “What about Eunwoo?” Taehyung wonders, “we will talk while he sits between us. Or...?”
Jungkook sighs, “no. I will let him take my bike and go back to Seoul.” “And how, pray tell, will we go back?” Taehyung wonders, “you have a plan?” “We will think about it later,” Jungkook shrugs, “just wait there, yeah?” Taehyung hums, “fine. I can't believe I am doing this.”
Jungkook calls for Eunwoo, “you take the bike. I will just walk-” “Drive us there,” Eunwoo waves, “then, I will leave with the bike. You find your way home.” “Thanks,” Jungkook deadpans, “big help, really.” Eunwoo's lips twitch, “I know. I am an angel.” They start the bike.
===== When Jungkook reaches the parking area, he sees Taehyung sitting on the bench by the ticket counter. His arms wrapped around himself, legs squeezes together. The cold night making him shiver. Jungkook nods at Eunwoo as the omega leaves with the bike before walking over.
Taehyung watches him cross the area to him and stands up. Jungkook stands in front of Taehyung, and suddenly he feels his brain stop working. He is not sure what to tell the omega. Taehyung waits, those large eyes fixed on him. Jungkook forces himself to say something. Anything.
“I am sorry,” Jungkook starts, “for every damn time I hurt you,” he does not dare reach and touch the omega, “for every time I ran away. For every time I crushed your hope after giving you hope. I am sorry.” Taehyung's throat bobs, he buries his nose into the muffler, “right.”
The snow is starting to fall, and Taehyung looks up at the sky before looking down at Jungkook. “If I have to do this here,” Taehyung jerks his shoulder, burying deeper in his hoodie, “I will freeze to death.” Jungkook winces, “right! Sorry,” he then blinks, “then... what...”
Taehyung stomps his foot, “come on, Jungkook,” he points over his shoulder, “the restaurant there!” Jungkook follows the omega inside, finding themselves a booth. Taehyung sits, Jungkook in front of him. After they order a cup of tea and one coffee, Jungkook looks at Taehyung.
“I just wanted to know,” he looks down at his hands, “am I too late?” Taehyung fidgets with his fingers, “for what exactly, Jungkook?” he nods when Jungkook looks up, “yes, for what? I thought you and Eunwoo were a thing.” “We are just friends,” Jungkook assures, desperate.
“The thought of him like that makes me wince,” Jungkook makes a face, “there's nothing between us.” “If not him, someone else,” Taehyung looks away, “you have flings. You are-” “Haven't slept with anyone since us,” Jungkook whispers, looking away, “just couldn't.”
Jungkook rubs his thumb over the life-line on his palm, “what about you and Seojoon hyung?” “He likes me,” Taehyung nods when Jungkook's eyes snap to his, “yeah, he does. I tried to like him back,” Taehyung looks outside through the window, “didn't work. I can't.”
Jungkook didn't know he was holding a breath until he lets it go. His shoulders slump, and he is reaching to take Taehyung's hands in his. Taehyung startles, eyes flickering to their joined hands and up to Jungkook's face. “I messed up so bad,” Jungkook whispers, “forgive me?”
“There is nothing to forgive,” Taehyung shrugs, looking down at their joined hands, “you didn't feel the same, you let me know. If I still held on, it's not your problem-” “I felt it,” Jungkook squeezes their hands together, “just... I wasn't sure if it was the imprint or us.”
“Now that it's gone,” Jungkook's thumb rubs over Taehyung's knuckles, “I still hurt the same, if not more, because of your absence.” Taehyung's eyes glimmer. He says nothing. “I just...” Jungkook squirms closer to the edge of his seat, “can we take it slow? Please?”
“I don't want to mate you when you are just twenty,” Jungkook winces, hurries to explain, “I mean, we can date? Mating is like-” “Forever,” Taehyung nods, “a bond for the rest of the life. We are too young for that.” Jungkook sighs, “exactly. I am not even twenty-five yet.”
“I think that's reasonable,” Taehyung nods, points a finger at Jungkook, “but, if we are to date, it will be exclusive. Just you and me.” Jungkook frowns, confused, “who else am I inviting to have a poly with?” Taehyung gives him an impassive stare. His tongue poking his cheek.
“I got it,” Jungkook holds his hands up, “no sleeping around, no running away, no shit like that. Just you and I.” Taehyung nods, “exactly. I am glad your brain can comprehend that.” Jungkook raises a brow, “so, you will be this sassy, or-” “More,” Taehyung nods.
Jungkook sighs, eyes stuck on Taehyung's face, “I fear the day you get pregnant. I won't want to be around you when you lose your temper, and your pheromones help you with it.” Taehyung's eyes widen, cheeks tinted, “okay, come back. That was too far! You wanted to take it slow!”
The waiter comes to serve their orders and Taehyung holds the cup with both of his hands. Jungkook watches, endeared, how Taehyung cuddles into his hoodie, nose buried in the muffler around his neck. He leans in to take a sip of the tea and hums in peace. Jungkook sighs.
Taehyung notices him, arches a brow. Jungkook shrugs. “Let's eat something and rest the night in the guest house,” the alpha takes Taehyung's hand in his, “we can find a way back home tomorrow morning.” Taehyung hums, “that's… good.” Jungkook nods, “yeah.”
==== Taehyung gets out of the shower, pulling out his nightwear from his bag and wearing it. He walks out of the washroom to see Jungkook in his jeans, already out of his Hoodie and T-shirt. Taehyung gulps, “I am done.” Jungkook nods, “took you long enough.”
He ruffles his hair, curses, “wore my damn helmet, but my hair still caught dust,” the alpha turns to Taehyung, “there's still hot water running, right?” Taehyung nods, turning away quickly, “y-yeah.” Jungkook takes the towel and change of clothes inside, “thanks.”
Taehyung sits on the bed, pulling out his skin-care bag and starting his routine. By the time he is on the moisturizer, Jungkook is walking out of the bathroom. He is wearing a jogger and nothing else. Taehyung groans. “Are you sleeping like that?” he wonders aloud.
Jungkook frowns, looking down at himself and back at Taehyung. “I am an alpha?” Jungkook arches a brow, “my body heat is higher, I can't sleep with a shirt on.” Taehyung rolls his eyes, “that's bullshit. Hyung sleeps in his pajama suit.” Jungkook shrugs, “Namjoon is weird.”
Taehyung throws the alpha a glare, “he is my brother! Don't talk about him like that.” Jungkook has a lopsided smirk on his lips, “or?” he walks up to the omega, leans down to match Taehyung's height on the bed, “or, what?” his voice dips, “peach? What would you do?”

🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑
Taehyung feels his face heating up, his eyes wandering over Jungkook's face before travelling down to his upper body. The omega turns his face away, swallowing. Jungkook takes a hold of his chin, making Taehyung face him again. “I am going to ask you something, peach.”
His voice dips, “something that will sound like I am the biggest hypocrite in this world,” he nods when Taehyung looks at him quizzically, “but, please answer me because this question kept me up night after night.” Taehyung looks confused, “what is it?” Jungkook's jaw twitches.
“That night I followed you after our talk,” Jungkook nods when Taehyung's eyes widen, “I saw you with Seojoon.” “If you are going to blame me for that, I will punch you in the throat,” Taehyung arches a challenging brow. Jungkook stares, his lips twitching, “no. Not that.”
“Did you two kiss?” Jungkook breathes out in a whisper, his voice giving away his vulnerability, “that night?” Taehyung juts his chin out, eyes challenging, “what if we did?” Jungkook says nothing, but his scent thickens in the air. Taehyung shakes his head, “we didn't.”
Jungkook's head bows, tensed shoulders relaxing, “fuck!” Taehyung lifts a brow, a sarcastic smile on his lips, “are you seriously going to be this possessive?” Jungkook peeks at him through his hair, the corners of his lips curled up. “Yeah,” the alpha climbs on the bed.
He takes a hold of Taehyung's nape, pulling him in, “yeah, I will be,” his other hand goes under Taehyung's T-shirt, squeezing his hip, “are you sure you still want to be with me?” Taehyung feels the tingle in the pit of his stomach, he shrugs, “I am more possessive anyway.”
Jungkook lies Taehyung down on the bed, hovering over him. Taehyung hums when the alpha captures his lips in a kiss. “I am still your only kiss?” Jungkook asks against Taehyung's lips, parting Taehyung's legs to settle between them, “peach?” Taehyung nods, “yeah. You are.”
Taehyung moans when the alpha squeezes his ass. His head dipping to nip his throat. The alpha pushes Taehyung's shorts down his legs, pulling the shirt off of him just as quickly. Taehyung pants, lying under the alpha completely naked, “what happened to taking it slow?”
Jungkook shrugs, “oh, it is slow, peach,” he hovers over Taehyung, “you have no idea how many things you will learn from me,” his eyes gleam with arousal and mischief, “how many things I will teach you. This is very slow.” Taehyung watches the alpha undress himself, smiling.
Jungkook stops then, a little breathless, “I don't have any condom with me.” Taehyung blinks, looking at the alpha quizzically, “you... why not?” Jungkook gives him a pointed glare, “I told you I didn't do it with anyone, and who was going to change that for me here?”
Taehyung frowns, “then, what now?” Jungkook sighs, looking at Taehyung with a click of his tongue, “we can just,” he waves his hand, “you can suck me off,” he watches how Taehyung blushes, looking away, “or, I can suck you off. Or we can jerk off together. Or-”
Taehyung pushes Jungkook away with a foot on his chest. He rolls over on his chest, buries his face into the pillow. “Just sleep,” Taehyung speaks, “I wanted you to f'ck me. It that's not happening, let's just sleep.” When no one answer, Taehyung peeks over his shoulder.
Jungkook is looking at his ass. The alpha looks at him and clicks his tongue. “Now that ass shouldn't be on display like that if you really wanted me to sleep,” Jungkook cocks his head, “we got to do something before junior Jeon bursts.” Taehyung bites back a laugh, “shut up!”
Jungkook slaps Taehyung's ass, letting out a curse, “fine. Let's just sleep. Whatever-” “I am clean, you know?” Taehyung whispers, face buried in the pillow. Jungkook freezes, his eyes finding the omega, “huh?” Taehyung does not face him, “I am clean.” Jungkook blinks.
Taehyung looks over his shoulder, a coy expression on his face, “are you...?” Jungkook gulps, his throat going dry, “I am, but,” he shakes his head, “I have never,” he watches how Taehyung is looking at him, “never done this without protection. What if...?”
tw// talk of mpreg --- Taehyung hums, “you really think you can knock me up on first try?” Jungkook rolls his eyes, “there is a chance, you know?” Taehyung hums, “then, what about you go and buy it?” Jungkook gives him a pointed glare, “I am hard as rock here! Really?”
“Then what do you want?” Taehyung gets up, “really?” Jungkook curses, getting off the bed, “fine! I don't want to risk it, okay?” he looks at Taehyung, “both of us are not ready to be parents, are we?” he pulls up his pants, “we are too young for that shit. Wait here.”
==== “I am tired,” Taehyung whines, watching the alpha as Jungkook cleans him up, “come on. Sleep now.” Jungkook hums, throwing the tissues in the bin, pulling exhausted omega to himself. He kisses Taehyung's forehead, nuzzling closer to the omega. “Was it good, peach?”
Taehyung hums, “the first or the second time?” Jungkook snorts, “both?” Taehyung nods, already falling asleep, “both were good.” Jungkook watches the omega fall asleep, wrapped around him. His arm secured around Taehyung's waist. They both smell of sex, scents mixing together.
Jungkook falls asleep peacefully, his heart content. Taehyung held tightly in his arm. ==== They get back to the university the next day. Cuddled on the last seat of the bus. “Should we tell the others that we made up?” Jungkook wonders. Taehyung sighs, “maybe not now?”
Taehyung loops his arms around Jungkook, “you know how Namjoon will react. You know they will ask so many questions. Right?” Jungkook holds Taehyung by his hips, “then... we can hide it. But, for how long?” Taehyung shrugs, “at least a few weeks? Please?”
So, they keep it a secret. Going on dates, long drives, having sex. Taehyung likes how the alpha treats him. He loves how Jungkook takes care of him and puts him first in any given situation. They go on like that for four months before the first crack appears in their paradise.
Jungkook frowns when he sees the omega squirming out of his hold and rushing to the washroom of his dorm. He sits up, going after the omega with a frown. “What's wrong, peach?” he kneels beside Taehyung, rubbing his back, “are you okay?” Taehyung curses, “just... vomited.”
Jungkook tries to smile, equally confused, “maybe the last piece of pizza was too much, eh?” Taehyung sits on the tiled floor, his eyes on Jungkook, “I am getting nauseous for a few days now, Jungkook. I keep feeling exhausted.” Jungkook kneels too, “maybe I wore you out.”
Taehyung gives Jungkook a pointed stare, “please don't joke, Jungkook." Jungkook shakes his head, “what else can it be? We always use protection. We never-” Taehyung throws his hands up, “well, sometimes they don't work! I am not saying, I am pregnant, but we have to check.”
Jungkook nods, “fuck, okay, okay,” he bites down on his lower lip, “I will get the kits,” he reaches for Taehyung, “come on. You need to rest.” “No, I am fine,” Taehyung pushes Jungkook away, “I will wait here. Just,” he rubs his face with his hands, “hurry up. Please.”
==== One hour later, they both stare at the four kits on the toilet seat. Taehyung feels his hands trembling. Sweat starting to build up on his skin. He feels the alpha right beside him, but he is too scared to look at him. “We are pregnant,” Jungkook whispers, “shit.”
tw// talk of abortion, adoption Taehyung feels light in the head, he bites down on his lower lip to push down the bile that is forcing its way up his throat. “We have to abort it,” Taehyung whispers, frowns when Jungkook flinches beside him, “what?” He looks at the alpha.
Jungkook's eyes are wide, “abort it?” Taehyung tries to force out a laugh, “yeah?” he points at the kits, “you can't possibly want me to carry the pup, can you?” he shakes his head, feeling nauseous again, “I am just twenty!” Jungkook stares, “Tae, just... breathe for now.”
Taehyung swats Jungkook's hand away, “no, Jungkook. I am not doing this,” his voice wavers, eyes burning, “my parents don't know. Hyung doesn't know! My friends,” he hugs himself, shaking his head, “my entire life is ahead of me, I can't do this right now!”
“What are you suggesting, really?” Taehyung waves his hand, “you are just a student still! What are you going to do?! What am I going to do? Do you have any idea how costly it is to raise a pup?! We are not ready for anything like that right now!” Jungkook knows all that.
“Okay, okay, how about you calm down, yes?” Jungkook reaches, taking a hold of Taehyung and slowly pulling the omega to himself, “it is fine. We will do whatever you want. Just try to breathe for me, peach. Please. Breathe.” Taehyung looks away from those kits, breathing heavy.
“Hyung,” Taehyung whimpers, face buried in Jungkook's chest, “can I tell hyung?” His eyes water when he looks at Jungkook, “I want hyung,” his lips wobble, “can you call him?” Jungkook sees how lost Taehyung looks, and he nods, “yes, peach. I will call him. Just, wait.”
==== Namjoon, to his credit, does not burst out as Jungkook expected him to. His eyes flicker from Jungkook to Taehyung. Where the omega sits on the bed, wrapped in a blanket and trembling in fear. Namjoon slowly sits at the edge of the bed, “cub,” he murmurs, “look at me.”
Taehyung flinches, looking up at Namjoon with tearful eyes. Jungkook balls his fist, ready to pounce if Namjoon says something stupid. Namjoon gives Taehyung a tender smile, “hyung will always have your back,” Namjoon reaches for Taehyung, “you are not alone. You never will be.”
“Whatever you choose,” Namjoon's voice is heavy, “hyung will be right by your side. He will talk to eomma and appa for you,” he pulls Taehyung to himself, tightly holding him, “whatever you want, I am with you.” Taehyung burst out crying, “I don't know. Hyung, I don't know!”
“I shouldn't have slept with him,” Taehyung whimpers, shaking his head, “now I got us in this mess,” he claws at Namjoon's chest, “I don't know! What do I do, hyung? What do I do?” Namjoon's eyes flicker over to Jungkook, “you used protection, right?” he chews out, “tell me.”
Jungkook feels the anger burn in him, he glares back, “we did,” his voice tight. Namjoon's jaw locks, “not sure how responsible you are.” Jungkook swallows, “enough to want to be by his side no matter what he chooses.” Namjoon's lips curl, “you think you are a help?”
Taehyung wipes his eyes, “I shouldn't have slept with him,” he looks at Namjoon, “it's not his fault. We both wanted it,” he looks down at his hands, “it's an accident.” “And, accidents happen, cub,” Namjoon smiles, “we will get past it,” his eyes find Jungkook, “all of it.”
“I will call Jin,” Namjoon murmurs, “you need to see a doctor. Whatever you choose,” he rubs Taehyung's back, “we do it,” he looks at Jungkook, “I think you should leave. You have done enough-” “That's my baby,” Jungkook growls, “I am going nowhere.” Namjoon gets up.
“You have done enough,” Namjoon's face sets onto a glare, “you fooled around with him, knew he was naive, you messed with him. What? You love him? What help would you do, Jungkook? For your baby? If Tae keeps it, what will you do? Stay with him? Mate him? Support him?!”
“Yes, I will, because-” Jungkook looks at Taehyung and Taehyung is shaking his head, face pale, eyes wide with fear. Jungkook swallows down his words, glares at Namjoon, “I will be here for him on every step.” Namjoon snorts, “you will run for the hills in one week, Jungkook!”
“You can't take care of your damn plants, your fucking house, yourself!” Namjoon's voice rises, “you know how to fool around and when that's it! When the baby comes, you will run. Then what? Tae will be all alone with the baby and that's it!” Jungkook curses, “I won't!”
Namjoon nods, “cool, let's see,” he turns to Taehyung, “cub,” he kneels by Taehyung's feet, voice turning softer, “do you trust him to be here no matter what happens?” Namjoon squeezes Taehyung's knee, “do you trust him to take the responsibility of everything with you?”
Jungkook looks at Taehyung and his world crashes. Right in front of his eyes, his world crashes and breaks into pieces. Taehyung is looking at him with doubt clear in his eyes. The omega looks away, not uttering a word. Jungkook takes a step back, his chest tightening.
Jungkook feels hollow, his eyes blurring, “right,” he nods, a soft chuckle escaping him, “you don't trust me,” his voice cracks, “is this why you never wanted to tell your hyung that we were…” 𝑑𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔. He doesn't want to say it because Taehyung told him not to.
Taehyung shakes his head, “I don't know, okay?” he looks at Jungkook with accusing eyes, “my head hurts. I am scared. You said that night that you don't want this shit. You don't want to plan your next month, Jungkook. How can I trust you to plan your forever with me?!”
Jungkook feels lonely. Standing there, watching Taehyung break down and Namjoon console him while glaring at him, Jungkook feels utterly lonely. “I will leave then,” Jungkook whispers, nods when Taehyung's eyes snap to his, “if that's how worthless I am here. You take care.”
Namjoon sneers, “see! The first scope he sees, and he is running for it! You can't even bear to stand and try to make me or him understand your point. You can't care less, can you?!” Jungkook breathes out a laugh, “yeah, whatever, man. You are here. He doesn't need me anymore.”
Jungkook is about to leave when there is a knock on the door of the dorm. Jungkook opens it to Yoongi who looks at him with a small smile. “Ready for the-” his eyes move from Jungkook to Namjoon and then Taehyung, “uhhh...” he blinks, “what is going on here?”
“Nothing!” Namjoon gives a sneering laugh, “Jungkook here got Taehyung pregnant, and now he is running away!” Yoongi blinks, looks at Taehyung and back at Jungkook, “uhh,” he frowns at Namjoon, “first of all, why are you announcing it? What if they don't want to tell? And, huh?”
Jungkook lets Yoongi close the door behind himself and shakes his head. “It happened,” Jungkook gulps, “now, Taehyung wants to abort it, and I am just saying, he should think this through. Whatever he chooses, I will support him.” Yoongi looks at Taehyung with a small nod.
Jungkook chuckles, “but, apparently, these Kim brothers don't trust me enough to not run for the hills. Well, in that case,” Jungkook shrugs, “I will leave it to them. Because, I refuse to stand here and get insulted!” Yoongi looks Taehyung, who looks nauseous on the bed.
“He is pregnant, just found out, nauseous,” Yoongi points at Taehyung, “and, here are two alphas. With their angry pheromones heavy in the air, and now I am added in the mix. Do you realize how stressed we are making him? Take this discussion somewhere else. He needs rest!”
“I will call Jimin and Jin,” Yoongi tries to smile at Taehyung, “you can nest with them for now, yes?” Taehyung's eyes pool with tears. Yoongi nods, “no one is going to go against whatever you choose, Tae. But, right now, you are not going to decide anything. You will rest.”
“Whatever it is, you can decide later,” Yoongi's lips quirk with a teasing smile, “first, we will have some breakfast, then you will have some rest, and then we can all come back to do whatever you decide. All of us are with you, Tae,” he gives Taehyung a pointed look.
He looks at Namjoon next, jaw hardening, “we will be with his decision. Not impose ours on him. He needs us as support, not as a dictator who will decide it all for him!” Namjoon opens his mouth but Yoongi holds his hand up, “I am done with you, really. Stop for now!”
“I know you love him, and it makes you worry, and then you get so protective that you forget who stands in front of you, Namjoon,” Yoongi sighs, “I know, you are trying to protect Taehyung, but Jungkook isn't hurting him. Far from it, really. Can you listen to his side? Please?”
“There is nothing to tell,” Jungkook steps in, his eyes focused on Taehyung, “if you want to abort the baby, I will go with you and when it's done, we will be done too,” he shakes his head, “and, if you keep it, I will take care of the baby, and you can give it up to me.”
“I know you are too young for all this,” Jungkook doesn't look away from those eyes, “but, we fooled around,” his voice drips with venom, “I probably manipulated you, as Namjoon is clearly thinking. I will take the responsibility. You don't have to be punished. I swear.”
Taehyung's eyes water, “you want me to tell him about us?” Jungkook's chest tightens some more, “no,” his voice is a whisper, “not anymore,” he blinks back the tears that line his eyes, “it doesn't matter anymore. I can't be with someone who won't trust me the bare minimum.”
“Just let me know whatever you decide,” Jungkook waves his hand, “message me. I will act accordingly,” he nods, “you won't have to worry about an uncertain future with me anymore.” Jungkook stumbles, reaching for Yoongi with a desperate hand, “let's go?” Yoongi watches him...
“Hyung,” Jungkook begs almost, turns away from Namjoon and Taehyung, face contorting for only Yoongi to see, “can we go?” Yoongi's eyes glimmer, he looks over Jungkook's shoulder at Namjoon. Namjoon looks alert now, realization settling in. Yoongi gives him a disappointed sigh.
Namjoon's eyes flicker from Jungkook to Taehyung and the alpha swallows. His face slowly turning pale. “You two were seeing each other?” he whispers, “not,” he looks at Taehyung and back at Jungkook, “not just fooling around?” Jungkook storms out of the room.
Yoongi curses, “you should have started with it, Joon!” Namjoon's eyes are wide, “why would I start with it, Yoongi?! Even you know he is sleeping around with Kiwoo! He was telling me about it yesterday! I thought he is fooling around with Taehyung!” Yoongi arches a brow.
The next realization makes Namjoon sit on the bed, “shit! He was hiding their relationship from me,” he buries his face in his hands, “he was lying about it!” Yoongi looks at Taehyung, who is looking at the door, tears rolling out of his eyes. “I will get him,” Yoongi nods.

Jungkook doesn't return to his own dorm till nightfall. He gets a message from Namjoon that they told their parents, and Taehyung's parents immediately called Jungkook's parents. “Whatever you two decide,” Mr. Jeon sounds worried, “we will support you. Step by step.”
“So will Tae's parents, okay?” Mrs. Jeon's voice is soft, “bun, whatever you two decide, we are here. Just, please think all the options through. We will be more than happy to help you two out in any way possible.” Jungkook shrugs, “it's Taehyung's decision fully.”
“We know,” she hums, “but, he is very young, Jungkook. You both are. Just decide whatever you two want and let us know. We are going to be there tomorrow. Take care, okay?” Jungkook pulls out a cigarette, cutting the call. He lights it, beside him is Yoongi, already smoking.
Jungkook looks at the cigarette in his hand, flips it aimlessly between his fingers. Yoongi watches the alpha flick it away, his lips twitching. Jungkook looks at Yoongi when Yoongi flicks the cigarette off too, “what?” Yoongi shrugs, “how can I let you quit alone?”
Jungkook shrugs, looking away, “if he decides to keep the baby,” he looks down at his feet. Yoongi's eyes wander over Jungkook's side profile, he looks ahead with a nod, “what if he doesn't?” Jungkook closes his eyes for a second, then jerks his shoulders, “then he doesn't.”
“I know it's both of our pup, but it's his body,” Jungkook swallows, “he will go through nine months of hell, and he will not be done even after the pup is born. There will be so many changes for him. I will never impose my wishes on him. I don't want to.” Yoongi smiles, “good.”
“But, you should let him know what you wish if he asks,” Yoongi hums. Jungkook gets on his bike, “I think we should head back,” he looks at the wristwatch, “it's almost ten. I am fcking sleepy.” Yoongi follows him, “yeah, the entire day was trash.” They start towards the dorm.
==== “What did you two decide?” Mr. Kim looks at them both eagerly, “whatever it is, we will support it, of course!” Jungkook leans against the window of Taehyung's room, eyes on no one in particular. Taehyung is sitting on the bed, Jimin plastered beside him. Jin too.
Jungkook wants to say they didn't decide anything. He wants to point out that they didn't get the time. But, he knows Taehyung probably decided, and he is waiting, just as everyone else in the room, to know what Taehyung decided.
“I didn't decide yet,” Taehyung murmurs, “it can't be my decision alone,” his eyes flicker over to Jungkook hesitantly, “he...” Taehyung looks down at his hands, clasped on his lap, “he gets to share his opinion too. This is our decision and I want to discuss with him alone.”
“I was too shocked yesterday,” Taehyung's voice cracks, “my first thought was how I let you three down,” he looks at his family, “then, how others will react when they come to know. My friends, classmates,” he sniffles, “I was so into my head, I didn't stop to think about him.”
Namjoon squeezes Taehyung's hand in his, “you didn't let anyone down,” he sighs, “if you want, we can go for now,” he looks at his brother with a small smile, “you two talk, and then you can tell us. Yes?” Taehyung looks at Jungkook, questioning eyes fixed on the alpha.
Jungkook doesn't look towards Taehyung, but he gives a jerk of his shoulder. Namjoon sighs, getting up. “We will see you?” Mrs. Jeon looks at the two of them. Taehyung forces a smile on his lips, nodding. One by one, they walk out. Jimin closes the door at last.
Jungkook stays where he is, leaning against the window and staring ahead of himself. There is silence. He doesn't break it. He has nothing to say. Taehyung gets off the bed, slowly waking up to Jungkook to stand in front of him. Jungkook still doesn't match those eyes.
Taehyung's hands reach out hesitantly, curling on Jungkook's shirt with desperation. “That day,” the omega whispers, “in your flat you told me, if you ever have to settle down, you will die inside.” Jungkook's throat bobs. Taehyung is looking down, “I can't do that to you.”
His voice is heavy, “when I realized I am pregnant, my first thought was your face in your house. You were so pale, frantic, and you sounded so desperate at the thought of ever having a domestic life. You told me in that hotel that you want to take it slow. Just date for now.”
“I still remember you looking so hesitant to call me your boyfriend,” his eyes fill with tears, voice thick, “when I found out I was pregnant, my first thought was you will reject the pup. If not now, for your moral compass, down the lane. You will get tired, suffocated. Leave.”
“Also, I don't want to be that person to you,” Taehyung looks at Jungkook, tears rolling out from the corners of his eyes, “don't want to be the person who forced you into anything. I don't want to look back and tell my pup their appa settled because he had no other options.”
“We never said how we feel about each other, Jungkook,” he chokes, “it was just, we are attracted to each other. That's it. We dated for just four months. Do you see how it looks? As if I tied you down because I always had a crush on you. I can't do that to you or me.”
“I can't look back on my life and wonder,” Taehyung swallows, “if you ever really loved me, or you chose me out of obligation and then got used to me being around. Or, maybe one day you, or I will get fed up with our monotonous life and break it all apart. I can't do that.”
“That day I told you, I loved you enough to let you go,” Taehyung wipes his eyes, a smile tilting his lips, “this time I am telling you again, Jungkook. You can go,” he looks down at where his hands hold Jungkook in place, “because…” he closes his eyes, “I want to keep the pup.”
“You were right last night in thinking you can't be with someone who won't trust you fully,” Taehyung hugs himself, stepping back from Jungkook, “and, I think I don't trust you fully. This doubt in me lingers, and it might forever linger that you just settled for it. You know?”
“I am not abandoning my pup,” Jungkook's voice is just as heavy, “I will be here for each step.” Taehyung nods, “that's good.” Jungkook is not sure what to say next, he looks at the omega, waits. Taehyung forces a smile on his lips, “we can just co-parent them. Yeah?”
“Hey,” Taehyung waves his hand, “even if something were to happen between us, it's not like we were going to mate right away. We both are too young. Co-parenting sounds the best.” Jungkook gives a jerky nod, “we can't mate because of the baby. Just for the baby.”
Taehyung nods, looking away, “I would not do that to you or me.” Jungkook swallows, “so... what about us? How are we-” “We can be friends,” Taehyung offers, voice thin, “we can be just that. You said you won't ever trust-” “I was pissed,” Jungkook sighs, “come on.”
“Your brother was looming over me like I forced you to have my pup,” Jungkook combs his hair back, “you were terrified, and you said you shouldn't have slept with me. Then, when asked, you were quiet about trusting me. Now I get your point, at that time, I was so damn pissed.”
He reaches to pull Taehyung to himself, “I know you are insecure about me,” Jungkook nods when Taehyung looks at him, “I know you fear that one day I will get tired of you and this and leave. Trust me, I get it,” he shrugs, “I am terrified of this. I never had a relationship.”
“You scare the living shit out of me, Taehyung,” Jungkook's chest tightens, “in every possible way. When I wake up beside you, my brain spirals and I want to distance myself. Run for the hills. Then, when you leave, I miss you. I never needed someone's company as I need yours.”
“I don't want to settle down,” Jungkook nods, “the thought of ever doing so, yes, scares me shitless. But, I,” he swallows, “you don't feel like setting down. You don't feel like a compromise. Does it make sense?” Taehyung shakes his head, “most of the time you make no sense.”
Jungkook's lips twitch, “how can I explain that you don't feel like 'trying' to me, Kim Taehyung. You don't feel like an effort. You… doing something for you… having you around…” Jungkook's eyes blur, “it feels natural. As if, I was meant to have you beside me. Always.”
“People say relationships take efforts, nourishing to keep it alive,” Jungkook gulps, “they say it takes hardwork to keep it going. Like anything else in life. But,” he cups Taehyung's face, thumb caressing Taehyung's cheekbone, “you don't feel like hardwork to me. At all.”
“I don't know what the future holds for us,” Jungkook shrugs, “but, unlike every other time when I would run and refuse to face the future, this time I want to. I want to see where it goes because,” he leans in to join their foreheads together, “if not with you, who else?”
“But, I promised myself that I will respect your decision, whatever you choose,” Jungkook looks at the omega, “so, if you want to be friends and just that, I will do it.” He nods, wiping Taehyung's eyes when tears roll out of them. “So, lead the way, Taehyung, I will follow.”
Taehyung is trembling, he throws himself in Jungkook's arms. His face buried in Jungkook's chest, arms grasping onto the alpha for dear life. “What do I do with you?” Taehyung cries, sobs breaking out of him, “what do I do? What do you want me to do now?”
If you want to listen to the song, I'm listening as I write - open.spotify.com/track/44AyOl4q…
“Keep me,” Jungkook begs almost, holding onto Taehyung for dear life, “I am tired of floating around like an anchorless ship. Keep me grounded. Like you do,” he looks at the omega, “we can take this slow but don't give up on me,” Jungkook sniffles, “please, don't give up on me.”
Taehyung pulls Jungkook to himself, lets the alpha hide himself in his arms. He lets Jungkook curl in. Jungkook bury his face against Taehyung's neck, clinging to him. Taehyung kisses Jungkook's cheek, hair, shoulder, wherever he can without releasing the alpha from his arms.
“I am not a fool to give up on you,” Taehyung whimpers, “you are,” he pulls back to cup Jungkook's face, both of them crying, “you are my 11:11 wish granted.” Jungkook feels his heart stutter, his nose taking in the omega's scent. He holds Taehyung closer, tighter…
🌷🌷🌷
Jungkook scoops Taehyung up in his arms, “we will find a way, won't we?” Taehyung nods, arms wrapped around the alpha's shoulder, “yes,” he breathes out a smile, “yes, we will find a way. We will find a way.” Jungkook breathes out a sigh of relief, “okay. Okay.”
Taehyung pulls back a little, “I am sorry,” he cups Jungkook's cheek, “for yesterday. When hyung asked, I was so into my own mind-” “I get it,” Jungkook sighs, “I am sorry too...” he matches Taehyung's eyes with a small smile, “for leaving you and saying I am done with you.”
Taehyung nods, “hyung was way out of line too,” he frowns, “I told him off, but he thought you were with someone else and double timing with me. So, he was pissed.” Jungkook shrugs, “don't think about it. We will sort it out.” Taehyung goes to sit on the bed, “our parents?”
“We have to tell them what we decided,” Jungkook rubs his face with both of his hands, “we have to find a place to rent.” Taehyung frowns, “why...?” Jungkook looks at him, arching a brow, “you don't want to be in the dorm throughout your pregnancy, do you?”
Taehyung thinks, “well, no. I mean, are you sure? Moving in together?” he takes Jungkook's hand in both of his, “I don't want this to be rushed for you.” Jungkook chuckles, “I offered, didn't I?” “How will we afford it?” Taehyung looks down at their joined hands, “the cost?”
“I can find a job, part-time,” Jungkook mulls over the options, “you don't have to worry.” Taehyung glares at him, “I am not sitting idly while you run the house, sir,” he bites his lower lip, “I will find something online.” Jungkook gives him a small smile, “it will be fine.”
That's what Taehyung holds onto when they tell their parents about their decision. That's what Taehyung holds onto when their friends gawk at them, a little startled, a little scared, but supportive nonetheless. “I have a friend,” Namjoon starts, “he has a place nearby.”
“I don't need your help,” Jungkook glares at the alpha, “I will find something on my own.” Namjoon looks at him, “we can do this, and I know I deserve it somewhat, but can you think about this rationally? You need a cheap place!” Yoongi rubs Jungkook's back, “take it.”
Jungkook looks away, not saying anything. “Let's see the place,” Taehyung quips, trying to ease the tension, “if it's fine, we can take it.” “It's good,” Namjoon nods, “he is a good friend. He will consider the rent too. Don't worry.” Taehyung agrees, “sounds good.”
Taehyung fixes a doctor's appointment after they are settled to move in to the apartment Namjoon got for them. Jungkook goes to see it with Yoongi, Namjoon and Hoseok. “There's only one bedroom,” Jungkook observes, looking back at Namjoon, “you are dying inside, aren't you?”
Namjoon grumbles under his breath, “well, I am dying outside too but Tae wants this. So, whatever.” Jungkook snorts, arms crossed over his chest, “you still owe me an apology.” Namjoon chews the inside of his cheek, “yeah. I do. I am sorry. I was terrified for my brother, and-”
Namjoon restlessly combs his hair back, glaring at Jungkook, “he deserves the world, Jungkook. I will always hold his mate to that standard, and right now you are nowhere near that in my eyes. But, I am no one to decide for him, and he chose you. I will support him.”
“I know we are friends and that's why I am scared, okay? I have taken care of you most of your life,” Namjoon throws his hands up, “how do you expect me to trust you to not dump Taehyung and the pup on my hands and run? I am paranoid. I know. I am sorry but I need time.”
“I know accidents happen, but getting pregnant at your age doesn't really speak of responsibility, does it?” Namjoon looks at Jungkook with a frown, “I am worried sick about my brother and yes, for him, I can turn my back on anyone. Even you.” Hoseok sighs, “guys, drop it.”
“As a person, as a friend, I will give you 10 out of 10,” Namjoon shakes his head, “but, as a responsible adult, you get zero from me. I know my views mean shit to you-” “They mean everything to me,” Jungkook curses, “why do you think I am so bothered with your point?!”
“I grew up on you almost,” Jungkook knows his voice is cracking, he ignores it, “I grew up knowing you as the responsible adult. As my hyung,” he jerks his shoulders, “every time I was in trouble, it was you I was calling. Because I knew you will get me out. I trust you!”
“Your opinion means a lot to me,” Jungkook digs his nails into his palm, balling them up, “I want you to accept me and I know, I am not there yet, but I will work on it. Can you at least give me a chance?” Namjoon's shoulders sag, “I don't like fighting with you. You know?”
Namjoon looks away, “I don't like it, but I know you and I think I need to know Taehyung's Jungkook now. Because,” his lips twitch barely, “Namjoon's Jungkook is very childish. He is the rebel who I kept dragging out of trouble. I need to see Taehyung's Jungkook now.”
“And, I will apologize to you when it comes from my heart,” Namjoon shakes his head, “right now, it's a formality and that's all. I don't feel sorry for stating my opinion. I will change it when my views change.” “That's okay,” Jungkook shrugs, “at least, can you be open to it?”
“I am,” Namjoon nods, “I am going to keep my views neutral and see Taehyung's Jungkook from now on. I will apologize when I feel it. Also,” he looks down at his shoes, “I reached out to Eunwoo and apologized.” Hoseok snorts, “that was a scene.” Namjoon winces, “I deserved it.”
Yoongi steps up to them, “I know there's too much going on. I know the group is going too many ways right now,” he looks at their faces, “but, it's still our group, guys. Can you keep the differences away? Otherwise, we will fall apart.” Jungkook hums, “I can.”
Namjoon exhales loudly, “I will try my best, just,” he points a finger at Jungkook, “never bring up having sex with my brother, and we are good.” Jungkook arches a brow, “you know how pups are made, right?” Namjoon glares at Yoongi, “now you see my point?!” Yoongi laughs.
“It's very, very weird to have the thought of them doing it,” Namjoon whines, going after Hoseok as they all look around the empty apartment, “and, every time he talks about it, I cringe so hard-” Jungkook smiles, going inside the bedroom. The voices fading like a pleasant hum.
'I am starting a family,' Jungkook thinks to himself, a shiver running down his spine, 'shit!' He blows out a breath, looking at the bedroom with lost eyes. Then he thinks about Taehyung and a smile warms his expression. 'I am starting a family with Tae.' Jungkook smiles.
====
The first doctor's appointment is a chaos. While Jungkook and Taehyung go inside the cabin, their friends wait outside. They all cry over the first sonogram. “The baby is so pretty,” Jimin sniffles, looking over Taehyung's shoulder. Yoongi blinks, “that's... a dot. Literally.”
Jungkook winces when he looks at Namjoon, “are you seriously sobbing?” Namjoon gestures, “that's literally going to be my most important person in this world. Shut up, Jungkook!” “I already feel bad for the baby's mate,” Jungkook shakes his head, earning a slap from Namjoon.
“That baby is never mating,” Namjoon announces, taking the sonogram from Taehyung, “no one can possibly be good for them!” Jungkook makes a face, “here we go.” Taehyung slowly curls up against Jungkook, his eyes on the sonogram. Jungkook wraps his arms around Taehyung.
“That's our baby,” Taehyung whispers, watching their friends snatch the sonogram from one another, excitedly talking among themselves. Jungkook's chest fills with air, his arms tightening around Taehyung, “yes,” he hums, “that's our baby.” Taehyung turns to hug Jungkook.
Taehyung looks at the clock and back at the phone on the counter. He is working on a project while he waits for Jungkook to return home. It's almost twelve and the alpha is still not home. Taehyung dials the tattoo shop's number where Jungkook works.
“Hello.” Taehyung bites the inside of his cheek, “Yoongi hyung,” he draws patterns on a white paper, “where is Jungkook? He was supposed to be off around ten.” Yoongi sounds confused, “he left around ten. Why? He is not home yet?” Taehyung swallows, “he-”
The doorbell rings and Taehyung jumps, “he is, I guess, home.” Yoongi hums, “maybe he had some errands to run.” “I will see you, hyung,” Taehyung cuts the call, going over to open the door. Jungkook looks exhausted, he offers Taehyung a tired smile, “hey, peach.”
There's that smell again. Taehyung holds his breath while Jungkook gets inside. The alpha toes off his shoes and drags himself to the kitchen for a bottle of water. Taehyung stands where he was, rooted. The neutralizing scent blocker's chemical smell is thick in the air.
Taehyung goes up to the alpha, “Yoongi hyung said you left work two hours ago.” Jungkook freezes, shoulders taut. He looks over his shoulder at Taehyung and gives a small smile. “I went to the uni to study for the upcoming internship a little.” Taehyung grips the counter.
“It's the fourth time in a week you are coming home wearing scent blockers, Jungkook,” Taehyung hisses, “what's the damn library can possibly smell like for you to hide it?!” Jungkook turns to him, “calm down, Taehyung. Will you?” Taehyung curses, “don't treat me like a doll!”
Jungkook closes his eyes momentarily, jaw hardening, “can you stop shouting?” he looks at the omega with a pointed glare, “I just wear the scent blockers on the days the tattoo shop has too many customers. You said you are sensitive to the smell of blood and disinfectant!”
Taehyung feels frustrated, “last time you were at the club, Jungkook,” his voice cracks, “Jimin saw you! You were working on tattoos there?!” Jungkook slams the bottle down on the counter, “I told you it wasn't me, Taehyung! Jimin clearly saw someone else and got confused!”
Taehyung feels the frustration build in him, “that's all?” Jungkook nods, eyes never leaving Taehyung, “that's all.” Taehyung swallows, rounding the counter, “okay,” he loops his arms around Jungkook, “okay,” he leans in to press a kiss against Jungkook's jawline.
Jungkook holds Taehyung's waist and slowly pulls away, “I am too tired, peach,” he doesn't match Taehyung's eyes, “will just shower and sleep. Yeah?” He plants a kiss on Taehyung's forehead and leaves the kitchen. Taehyung stands there, feeling the cold slowly seep in him.
Taehyung goes to the bedroom, robotically unbuttoning his shirt and letting it fall on the ground. Jungkook walks in to take a towel, their eyes meeting through the mirror. Jungkook offers Taehyung a small smile before leaving. Taehyung looks at himself then, eyes taking him in.
Taehyung cannot help but notice the small bump. His eyes trace the stretch marks on his abdomen, slowly crawling towards his thighs. His thighs are meaty now, rub together when he walks. His skin is peeling around the stomach. Hips a little curvy. Taehyung swallows.
His joins ache nowadays, back straining if he sits up for too long. The pads of his feet hurt every night, and he asks Jungkook to massage them for him. He doesn't really fit in his skinny jeans anymore. He doesn't like them either. Prefers those yoga pants or cotton shorts.
Taehyung prefers to close the lights when they have sex. He doesn't want the alpha to see him. He thinks how Jungkook reaches for the light first nowadays. Maybe, he doesn't like to see him either. Taehyung flinches when the door of the bathroom opens and Jungkook walks out.
Taehyung snatches the first T-shirt he sees and wiggles into it. He looks at himself and a frustrated growl escapes his lips. The T-shirt is too small for him. It stretches around him. Taehyung swallows, watches how helpless tears fill his eyes as he stares at himself.
Jungkook comes up behind him, “you want me to get a T-shirt of mine?” Taehyung's eyes flicker over to the alpha, a sardonic smile on his lips, “why? Can't stand how I look right now?” Jungkook pauses, a little confused, “you look uncomfortable.” Taehyung laughs, “or, ugly?”
Jungkook frowns, “what?” Taehyung shakes his head, “never mind,” he turns away, “I will change.” Jungkook nods, “yeah, okay. You lie down, I will get the oil.” Taehyung snorts, “no need. I know you are desperately trying to get rid of the stretch marks, but it won't happen.”
Jungkook is after him right away, “I am not trying to get rid of anything. You wanted me to massage you, and I do it because you want it.” Taehyung opens the wardrobe, ruffling through his section of clothes, “yeah, nowadays, you are doing everything because I want it. Just me.”
Jungkook curses, “you want to know what I want right now, Tae?” he nods, “I want to sleep. I am dead on my feet, and you are confusing me!” “Go and sleep,” Taehyung waves his hand carelessly, “the bed is made. Or,” he pauses, “you don't like how the bed is made as my nest?”
Jungkook shrugs, “can't care less. Can you hurry up? I-” “No, I don't want you to sleep here,” Taehyung grips a T-shirt, pulling it down, “take the couch or go to your friend's or something. I can't stand your scent right now.” Jungkook blinks, “are you serious right now?”
Jungkook throws his arms up, “Tae, I just got back after hours' worth of shift, and now I can't sleep on my bed? What are you talking about-” “I want you gone for tonight,” Taehyung shrugs into the T-shirt, only to find it tight around him too, “just go,” his eyes burn, “now!”
Jungkook reaches over Taehyung's shoulder, pulling out one of his T-shirts. “Wear this, peach, and come to bed,” Jungkook's voice is a growl, “I am tired, and I want to sleep in our nest. Let's not argue about that.” Taehyung throws the T-shirt on the floor, “I said, leave!”
“Go and sleep with the person whose scent you are clearly trying to hide from me for a month now!” Taehyung screams, “go and f'ck them and tell them they are pretty and how good they feel and how gorgeous they look. Go to them and leave me alone!” The room is eerily quiet.
“One month, Jungkook,” Taehyung chokes on his own words, his face heating up with humiliation, “you haven't touched me in one month! You won't even kiss me if you can help it! You sleep like a log at the edge of the bed and jump like a damn stray if I reach for you!”

“You know what?” Taehyung breathes out a short laugh, “you are right. You are too tired from whatever the hell you were doing, you stay. I will go to hyung's place for the night!” Jungkook watches, flabbergasted, while Taehyung snatches his phone and dials Namjoon's number.
Jungkook reaches for Taehyung then, grabbing his elbow, “Taehyung-” “Don't touch me!” Taehyung screams, his eyes watering, “not after a month of avoiding me like I repulse you! Don't touch me!” Jungkook curses, “Taehyung, listen to me for f'ck's sake! I am not lying to you!”
“Tae?” Namjoon's voice is loud through the phone. Taehyung latches onto it with dear life, “hyung,” his voice cracks, “can you come and pick me up?” Jungkook grits his teeth, watches how Taehyung wipes his eyes furiously. “What's wrong, cub?” Namjoon sounds alert, “what's-”
“Please, hyung,” Taehyung marches out of the bedroom when Jungkook tries to reach for the phone and locks himself in the bathroom, “can you come and pick me up?” He goes to sit on the toilet, head in his hand, sobbing, “I want to leave this place for now. Please.”
Namjoon lets out a deep breath, “I am coming to pick you up, cub. Can you tell me what's wrong, though?” “I don't want you to lose your temper,” Taehyung whispers, “you will if I tell you.” “I will try my best, cub, what is it?” Namjoon sounds like he is moving around.
Taehyung flinches when Jungkook starts twisting the knob of the bathroom. “Taehyung, open the damn door and let me in,” Jungkook sounds angry now, “you can't f'cking run to your brother! Come on!” Taehyung swallows, “if you really care, Jungkook, leave me alone!”
“So, it's Jungkook?” Namjoon asks, there are voices around him, Taehyung thinks the alpha is out of his house already. “Yes,” Taehyung whispers, “I don't want to talk about it though.” Namjoon sighs, “cub, if you don't tell me, there are bound to be misunderstandings, no?”
“I don't want to tell you something until I am sure of it,” Taehyung chokes, tears trailing down his cheeks, “I don't want to accuse him like that. I just need some space for now. Because, I know if I see him, I will do something stupid, and I just need some space.”
“Fine, I will be over in a few minutes,” Namjoon hums, “stay on the line?” Taehyung sniffles, “y-yes, please.” --- Taehyung ignores Jungkook's calls and begging for him to open the door. He presses his hands over his ears and cries to himself. He hates how suffocated he feels.
When the doorbell rings, Jungkook swears out loud. Taehyung sits up, alert and in a few seconds, he hears Namjoon. “Cub, I am here,” Namjoon's voice is deep and soothing, “hyung is here, bub. Please open the door.” Taehyung lurches for the door and opens it to Namjoon.
Taehyung throws himself in Namjoon's arms, sobbing breathlessly. Namjoon's worried eyes move from Taehyung to Jungkook quizzically. Jungkook crosses his arms over his chest, jaw clenched, “he thinks I am cheating on him.” Taehyung buries his face deeper in Namjoon's chest.
Namjoon goes still for a second, and then his arms are looping around Taehyung. He easily holds Taehyung to his chest and almost carries him over to the couch to sit with Taehyung on his lap, sobbing. Namjoon wipes Taehyung's eyes, “is that it, cub? You think he is cheating?”
Taehyung shakes his head, “I just need some time away-” “But, baby, you need to talk this out,” Namjoon whispers, carefully wiping Taehyung's eyes, “he is your boyfriend,” he tries to match Taehyung's eyes, “if you are doubting him, isn't it wise to confront him and not run?”
“If you leave right now, it will solve nothing,” Namjoon hugs Taehyung to himself, “the worry won't cease and you will keep thinking about it. No?” he looks at Jungkook and back at Taehyung, “I am a call away, if he indeed cheated, I will take you away. But, did you talk to him?”
Taehyung doesn't match his eyes, “I can't, I can't. I am tired of him lying. I am tired of him making excuses. I tried to talk for a month. Every time I reached for him, he ran away. Every damn time. I think he wants me gone and I am doing it finally.” Namjoon looks at Jungkook.
Namjoon looks back at Taehyung, “see, four months ago, I would jump on this opportunity and take you away from here, but,” he hesitates, “I have seen him work his ass off for these past few months, cub. I have seen him juggle so much and I...” he shakes his head, “can't do it.”
“I will seriously break his head if he did it, but,” Namjoon tries to smile at Taehyung's red-rimmed eyes, “I have seen him, cub. I am not saying your worries are pointless, there must be some reason,” he looks at Jungkook, “he probably needs to clear some shit out by talking...”
“But,” Namjoon rubs Taehyung's back, “I like to make my own decisions based on what I see, and I have seen him care for you more than that idiot cares for himself,” his lips twitch, he nods when Taehyung stares, “maybe, you both need to talk. Just sit and talk without fighting.”
Taehyung snorts, “you think I didn't try?” he looks down at his hands, “I tried so many times. He would just change the topic or leave. You think calling you was my first choice?” He gets off of Namjoon's lap to turn to Jungkook, “tell him how many times you ignored my tries!”
Jungkook closes his eyes briefly, his jaw tightening, “there is nothing to talk about. I am not cheating and that's it. What else do you want to know?” Taehyung chuckles, “see,” he looks at Namjoon, “he won't tell me. He won't even discuss. My first guess wasn't even cheating.”
Taehyung hugs himself, he hates how tears just spill out of his eyes. “It must be irritating to spend more time with me than you have to already,” he looks at Namjoon, “I can't care less what you think. I just want you to take me away from here for the night.”
“You are going nowhere,” Jungkook speaks before Namjoon can open his mouth, “you are staying, and we are talking,” his eyes flicker to Namjoon, and he nods, “you are leaving.” “No!” Taehyung hisses, “I don't want-” “I am not letting you go,” Jungkook glares, “we are talking.”
Namjoon gets up, looks at Jungkook and back at Taehyung. They both are glaring at each other. He squirms uncomfortably. “I am going with him and you are not stopping me,” Taehyung clutches his shirt, anger rolling off of him in waves. Jungkook gives him an impassive look, “no.”
“You are not leaving this apartment,” Jungkook marches up to Taehyung, “you want to talk, let's talk. But you are not leaving.” “Now you will decide what I will do?!” Taehyung's lips curl in distaste, “go and be so bossy with the one you are fooling around with!”
Jungkook looks at Namjoon, “please, leave.” Namjoon looks at Taehyung and back at Jungkook. “He is not going anywhere!” Taehyung stomps his foot. Jungkook's scent spreads in the room, thick and raging, “leave my house,” Jungkook murmurs, “Namjoon. I want to be alone with him.”
Namjoon winces, “yeah, I am,” he looks at Taehyung whose betrayed eyes are on him, his shoulders sag, “bub, you need to talk. He wants to talk. Please?” Taehyung wipes his eyes, looking away, “just go.” Namjoon looks at Jungkook, whispers, “be gentle.” He leaves.
Jungkook locks the door and comes to stand in front of Taehyung again. “Can you sit down now” he asks, gestures for the couch. Taehyung doesn't look at him, he sits on the couch. Shoulders taut and his eyes on his hands. Jungkook sits on the tea-table in front of Taehyung.
“I am sorry,” Jungkook looks at the omega whose scent is too distraught, and he hates himself for it, “I am sorry that I didn't pick up on your stress earlier. I was so absorbed in my own head,” he clicks his tongue, “I should have known you would notice.” Taehyun goes taut.
Jungkook supports his elbows on his knees and hides his face in his hands. “I didn't want to stress you and I ended up doing exactly that-” “Come to the point,” Taehyung murmurs, his eyes never matching Jungkook's, “what's going on and why are you lying so blatantly to me?”
“The baby is coming in five months, and we need to save up for so many things,” Jungkook lets out a deep breath, “you are working from home and I hate how much you are working. I just,” he shrugs, “I picked up some side jobs. Here and there. It's good money and that's all.”
“What kind of job?” Taehyung frowns. “Well,” Jungkook combs his hair back, hesitating. “Don't fucking make up something, Jungkook, I will break your face if you lie again!” Taehyung seethes, “you owe this to me! What type of job?!” Jungkook curses, “underground boxing.”
Taehyung freezes, his eyes snapping up to look at Jungkook's face. “What...?” Taehyung's face is pale, eyes wide, “what are you doing?” Jungkook winces, “it's quick money, and it pays very well. The bets are high, and I won most of the matches. So, it's really good.”
“That day when Jimin saw me in the club,” he shrugs, “I went there to pick my the extra they earn from the bets. I am sorry that I lied to you about it, but you would react exactly how you are right now, and I didn't want to worry you. I am sorry?” Jungkook sighs.
“What use do you think your quick money has when you die overworking or worse in the ring?” Taehyung glares at the alpha, “what use I have of you or the baby have of you if something happens to you? Do you ever stop to think about yourself?! That I would rather you are safe?!”
“I can't care less if the baby grows up in a little crisis. We are working hard enough to make it work out and it will,” Taehyung grasps Jungkook's hands in his, tears pooling in his eyes, “I don't want to worry about my mate going out there and putting himself in danger for us!”
Jungkook's eyes shine with something unreadable, “mate?” Taehyung pauses, confused, “what...?” Jungkook stares, “you called me your mate.” Taehyung frowns in confusion and then his face goes blank, “out of everything, that's what you heard?!” Jungkook winces, “okay, sorry.”
“I am trying to have a mature conversation here, and you are older than me,” Taehyung throws his hands up, frustrated, “I should not be here putting you in line! It should not be me doing the mature talk here! Jungkook-” “Yes, mate?” Jungkook has a cheeky smile on his face.
Taehyung breathes in, trying to calm himself down, “I am very close to strangling you, Jungkook. Don't edge me on.” “There are so many double meaning in that single sentence, I swear!” Jungkook points out, “you either mean that or I am going crazy because I am so worked up.”
Taehyung slaps Jungkook's bicep, “be serious, Jungkook! I need answers and you are not helping!” Jungkook sighs, a smile still lingering on his lips, “go on. Whatever you want to ask, just go ahead. I am tired of hiding so much from you, anyway. It drives me crazy.”
“Why are you using scent blockers?” Taehyung eyes the alpha. “Because of all the blood and bruises on me,” Jungkook looks away, “also, there are too many people in those matches. They reek of pheromones, and you are sensitive to smells nowadays. I couldn't risk it.”
“Why...” Taehyung whispers, his cheeks heating up, but his insecurities won't let him stay in silence, “why won't you touch me?” There is a silence. Taehyung risks a glance at Jungkook and the alpha is not looking at him either. The tips of his ears a little red, nose scrunched.
“Have you looked at yourself lately?” Jungkook murmurs, eyes snapping closed, “I feel like a caveman saying this, but you are so radiant, so pretty, so pregnant, and,” he swallows, cheeks tinted, “to think I did that to you… I don't want to lose myself to that thought. But…”
“You know how rough I am,” Jungkook looks down at his hands, frowning, “I didn't want to risk it. Also, you kept insisting on staying in your clothes and I thought you are weirded out by the way I look at you or something. I don't know...” Taehyung blinks, eyes on the alpha.
“You didn't kiss me in a month!” Taehyung demands, hands slapping down on his own thighs in agitation, “what kind of reason-” “I come back from my boxing matches and you are all draped in a damn T-shirt that's clearly mine and your boxers,” Jungkook stands up, “I lose it, okay?”
“You just smell like my pheromones that I know coming from the pup that I put in you,” Jungkook combs his hair back, “you have no idea how feral I get every time I look at you and I know if I kiss you, it will not stop there, and I will somehow end up hurting you.”
“You don't know the effect you have on me, peach,” Jungkook looks at Taehyung with frustration clear in his eyes, “you have no damn idea how much I want you. It scares me. The doctor said to tear you well and-” “Fucking me is treating me well, I would say!” Taehyung curses.
Jungkook blinks, eyes a little wide, “uhhh...” Taehyung gets up from the seat, “you want to treat me right? I get it! I get it that you want to think about me, but did you ask me?! I,” he looks away, “I am thinking you hate how I look nowadays. I thought I repulsed you!”
“How can you ever repulse me?” Jungkook gathers Taehyung in his arms, voice soft, there is something vulnerable in that voice, “how can you ever repulse me when,” he cups Taehyung's face to make Taehyung look at him, “all I think about when I look at you is, how much I love you.”
Jungkook gives Taehyung a wobbly, fearful smile, “how can I ever be repulsed by you when I can't stop thinking how you wished to have me and I pray to the universe to let me keep you. Right by my side. Because,” those eyes fill with tears, “when I told you I seek that…”
“Different life where I won't ever have to settle in a boring routine like my parents did, what I didn't realize was, nothing is boring when you do it with the right person by your side. I never understood because I never had that person with me until you, Kim Taehyung.”
“You make it all make sense now,” Jungkook cups Taehyung's face, joining their foreheads, “when appa would say he would live his life over and over again with eomma, when they would look at each other with so much love... now it all makes sense because now I get them. I get it.”
“I will always be a little reckless, a little stupid,” Jungkook breathes out a snort, “mess up like I did the past month, but, please,” he takes Taehyung's hands in his, kissing his fingertips, “scold me, drag me back on track holding my ear, but don't leave me. Please?”
Jungkook slowly goes down on his both knees, arms holding Taehyung by his hips. His lips press against Taehyung's bump and Taehyung lets out a sob, hands resting on the alpha's hair, caressing those soft strands. “This is where I always want to be,” Jungkook murmurs, “forever.”
“I am sorry for worrying you,” Jungkook looks up at Taehyung, tears clinging to his lashes, “for making you doubt yourself. I will take every punishment you have for me. Just...” he shakes his head, “don't leave. I can't,” he breaks down, “I can't live without you.”
Taehyung sits down on Jungkook's lap, cupping the alpha's tear soaked face in his hands. He ignores how he is sobbing too. “You won't go back to that ring again,” Taehyung points a finger at the alpha, “you will work at the tattoo shop and come home to me. Promise me.”
“Promise me that you will not go back there,” Taehyung holds out his hand, “I will die worrying, Jungkook, if you go back to it-” “I won't,” Jungkook shakes his head, “I am starting my internship soon and the pay is good. I won't. I promise.” Taehyung lets out a deep breath.
“Let me see,” Taehyung talks, his voice barely a whisper, “let me see you.” Jungkook hesitates, “peach, I am fine. It's not-” “I want to see,” Taehyung murmurs, eyes never leaving Jungkook's face, “show me.” Jungkook hesitates for a few moments before he takes off his shirt.
Taehyung lets out a shudder. There are purple bruises around Jungkook's chest, some are on his stomach, under his ribs. He reaches, tentative fingers tracing the bruises and dark spots. Jungkook twitches under his touch but does not pull away. Taehyung feels like crying again.
“Never,” Taehyung snivels, “never put yourself in this situation ever again,” he places his hand over the bruise under Jungkook's rib, eyes meeting the alpha's, “do you have any idea how much this worries me? What if it damaged something?! What if you really got hurt?!”
“I won't,” Jungkook holds Taehyung's hand in his, kissing his knuckles, “I promise. Never again.” Taehyung bites down on his lower lip, eyes roaming over the alpha's skin. He looks up at the alpha. “I am so mad you hid this from me,” he curses. Jungkook winces, “sorry.”
Jungkook's hands come up to hold Taehyung, “can I see you now?” Taehyung's face heats up again, flush spreading down till his chest. He looks away, feeling the alpha's hands under his shirt, caressing his hips. Taehyung hesitates, “I am not sure... you said you were tired...”
Jungkook squeezes Taehyung's hips, “come on, peach. Please?” Taehyung squeaks when Jungkook stands up, easily carrying him in his arms. “What are you doing?!” he looks at the alpha, who smirks up at him. “Taking you to bed,” Jungkook shrugs, “to our nest.”
Taehyung smiles down at the alpha, “how about we cuddle to sleep tonight?” Jungkook eyes him, “is that what you want?” Taehyung nods, “yes. For tonight, I want you to hold me as I sleep.” Jungkook shrugs, “your wish is my command, peach. I will do whatever you want me to.”
🌷🌷🌷
Jungkook lies down on the nest, pulling Taehyung to himself. Taehyung cuddles up to the alpha, his head resting on Jungkook's chest. For a second, they both close their eyes, the month-long distance between them slowly fading. Jungkook wraps his arms around Taehyung.
“I know, I have made you worry so much,” Jungkook murmurs against Taehyung's head, “I was too worried about our future to take care of our present, but I hope you forgive me.” Taehyung buries his face against Jungkook's chest, “just never go back to the ring, and we are fine.”
Jungkook smiles, closing his eyes. The nest smells of them, his nostrils filling up on the scent as he slowly drifts off to sleep. Taehyung watches the alpha sleep, his eyes roaming over Jungkook's face with a tender smile. He gets out of the bed when Jungkook is fast asleep.
Taehyung comes back with ointments and settles beside Jungkook's sleeping form. With tender hands, he applies the ointment on Jungkook's bruises. His eyes filling up with tears as he traces those marks. He leans in to kiss each bruise, nuzzle against each hit Jungkook took.
“I love you,” Taehyung whispers, eyes fixed on Jungkook's sleeping face, “I love you so much.” He lies down, taking Jungkook's hand in his. His lips pressed against the alpha's knuckles. Jungkook squirms closer to him in his sleep, making Taehyung smile.
🌷🌷🌷
“So, the godfather,” Namjoon sips his coffee, “it's me, right?” Jungkook eyes the alpha with an arched brow, “it's clearly Yoongi.” Namjoon coughs, indignant, “what the hell?! Why is it Yoongi?! I am literally Taehyung's brother!” Jungkook shrugs, “you are a total shithead.”
Taehyung winces, “can you two not bicker for like a second?” He looks over at where Eunwoo is, smiling and talking Hoseok. His eyes shift to Jimin, who is by Yoongi's side, stealing glances at each other. Taehyung frowns, a little confused. “I can be the godfather,” Jin says.
Jungkook looks at Jin with a wide smile, “that makes more sense, to be honest.” “The baby will be in good hands,” Taehyung chuckles, taking the juice from Jin, “I like that too.” “What do you mean?” Yoongi frowns, “I am not good hands? I am Midas touch, by the way.”
“Yeah, no, I don't need my baby turning gold,” Taehyung holds his stomach, eyeing the alpha, “I think Jin hyung is a better choice.” Jungkook laughs, joining in when Yoongi starts to protest. Taehyung watches them all join in, creating a pleasing hum of conversation.
Jimin has his hand on Taehyung's thigh, a small smile on his lips, while his eyes move from one face to another. Taehyung Jimin's hand, a pleased smile on his lips as he watches his family bicker with each other. “When the baby comes,” Namjoon stands up, “we let him decide!”
“Yes, because, you see, he will choose a person as boring as you,” Yoongi rolls his eyes, “he will choose me. I am sure. Jin will suffocate him with too much care-” “And, you will scare the living shit out of him being too careless,” Jin squints his eyes at Yoongi.
Taehyung leans back against Jungkook when the alpha comes to sit behind him. He closes his eyes, tilting his head back against Jungkook's shoulder. “I can't believe the baby is coming in a month, peach,” Jungkook whispers, “I can't believe we are going to be parents soon.”
Taehyung looks down at himself. He is due in a month. His hand rests on his eight months pregnant belly. Things are looking up slowly. Jungkook got his internship and is doing well for the company to offer him a job that will start in two months.
Taehyung's own internship will start in six months, and until then he is working from home. He is earning as much as Jungkook with his writing jobs. They have recently moved to a new apartment, able to rent it on their own. Jungkook decorated a room for the baby.
Taehyung looks at their friends and feels Jungkook's arms around him. He looks at the clock when it strikes 11:11. A smile curls his lips and he closes his eyes. He doesn't wish for anything this time. He doesn't have to.
His reality is finally better than anything he can wish for. So, he doesn't. He turns to Jungkook, hides his face against Jungkook's neck and lets the alpha pull him in for a soft kiss. “I love you,” Taehyung murmurs, eyes taking in Jungkook's face, “I love you so much.”
His chest swells with too much air when Jungkook's face breaks into a tender smile. The alpha's cheeks dusted pink. Jungkook is still not used to the confessions and loving words Taehyung showers over him. Still not used to the omega so openly subjecting him to love.
His nose scrunches up as he smiles at Taehyung and nods. “I love you too,” Jungkook's voice is winded, “I love you just as much.” Taehyung knows he can never wish for something better than this. He can never wish to have something better than this reality of them.
