Plenary session #aaaai2023 endocrine disruptors & leaky epithelial barriers are implicated in the development of wide-ranging immune dysregulation: allergies, autoimmunity, etc. Here are 15 safer swaps we have aimed for in our home over the last several years.

1. Minimize exposure to detergents & surfactants. 2. Avoid rinse aid in dishwashers. 3. Wash off the dirt and stinky bits only. 4. Use gentle cleansers without phthalates & fragrance. 5. Consider SLS-free toothpaste & shampoos.
6. Don't microwave in plastic. 7. Avoid soft plastic toys and single-use plastics. 8. Buy natural fiber and/or organic clothing. 9. Regularly dust & vacuum. 10. Skip the heat-printed receipts.
11. Avoid emulsifiers and preservatives in food. 12. Choose produce over packaged & processed. 13. Choose glass over plastic packaging. 14. Look for BPA-free canned goods. 15. And always remember progress over perfection. What did I miss?
