Enmity; an a/b/o #taekookau "I condemn the day I laid my eyes on you. I cannot even describe how much I despise you!" The alpha sneers in anger. Taehyung's eyes brim with tears, taking in a rigid breath as he takes a step back. "Let me leave. Let me go. Why are you doing this?!"

"Then leave! Go! Get out of here!" Jungkook roars, his whole face twisting with fury as he takes a threatening step towards the omega who tries to take a step back, a shaky breath escaping him. Jungkook's hands tighten around his arms as his eyes flash red.
"I have had it with you! First, it was my business deal, now this! Every time you're around me, every single time! Just get the fuck out, Taehyung!" The alpha drops his hands and turns around, breathing heavily as he forces himself to calm down.

Taehyung swallows, his tears failing him as they roll down his cheeks. He hurries to wipe his tears before straightening himself, “You know I can’t just leave, right? You know that I’m stuck here with you. Fuck, I just hate you so fucking much! You coward!”
The omega screams, his eyes burning with tears of frustration as he lunges forward and pushes the alpha. Jungkook barely stumbles, but the push is enough to allow Taehyung to let out some of his anger.
“Why did you marry me? Huh? Why did you say yes! Why would you do this to yourself? If you hate me that much, if you cannot even describe the hatred you have for me, then why the hell would you marry me!”
Jungkook turns around with eyes flashing pure red as he clenches his jaw and takes another step towards the omega who stands tall, their height difference allowing the alpha to tower over him. The alpha scoffs mockingly,
“Do you think I did it for you? Do you think I cared about you at all? I did this because of my parents. They pushed me, threatened me, and nagged me nonstop. I got tired of it. Why did /you/ say yes?”
Taehyung’s face twists with hurt as he looks at those eyes that are slowly turning back to their dark colour. He takes in a deep breath as blinking away the burning feeling in his eyes. “For the same reasons.”
“Really?” Jungkook chuckles, leaning away for a moment before he turns to glare at the omega again, “You are in this for the money. A gold digger is what you are.” Taehyung’s lips part as he stares at the alpha in disbelief, “did you forget who my parents are?”
“I didn’t and that is exactly /why/ you’re a fucking gold digger. The Kims are nothing compared to the Jeons. We rule South Korea’s entire business industry and /you/ are merely the underdog."
"I don’t know what you father did to convince mine to have you fucking marry me, but he succeeded and I am the one suffering!” The alpha booms with the last sentence and Taehyung can feel the thick scent of fury and disdain in the air reeking from the alpha, suffocating him.
The omega gasps for breath softly as he stumbles back only to lean onto the wall behind him, his eyes burning with unshed tears that he refuses to let go. He refuses to appear weak before the alpha. He refuses to appear small.
“You are the one suffering?” Taehyung lets out a humourless laugh in between his soft attempts in inhaling air that is not tainted with the alpha’s suffocating scent.
“Do you even know how much I hate seeing your stupid face every day? Do you think I enjoy how I have to share a damn house with you?” Jungkook’s jaw ticks in irritation, his gaze hardening, “why wouldn’t you enjoy it?"
"Was that not what you and your pathetic family wanted? A rich alpha you can leech off of?” “Shut the hell up, Jungkook!” Taehyung screams in anger, pressing both his palms to the alpha’s chest as he pushes him back. “I never needed you!” Another push
I never wanted you! I have always hated you so much to the point that I’ve dreamed of getting rid of you with my bare hands!” Angry tears roll down the omega’s cheeks as his throat burns with held-back sobs.
His pushes get weaker every time he pushes the alpha back, with every push he feels it. How humiliated he is, how helpless he is. “I never— I want to leave this hellhole! I don’t want to ever see you again!”The omega rasps between his stuttering chest and his tears of anguish.
When Taehyung attempts to push him one more time, the alpha is quick to take hold of both of his wrists— pressing him up against the wall. “Listen to me carefully, omega. You are not going to leave. Before a year, you are going nowhere."
"This marriage, this /bullshit/ will go on for only a year. You’ll have to pretend that we’re happily married in front of our parents whether you like it or not. You have no problem acting anyway, right? It is your speciality.” Jungkook’s lip curls in disgust.
“You mean shit to me. The only thing you have to do is stay the fuck away from me. Do not attempt to intervene in my business, I’ll make your life a living hell.” “It is already hell—”
“Shut the fuck up, Taehyung! The pathetic stunt you pulled today caused my investors to fucking leave! Will your family handle the losses? All the money I’ve lost today, will you fucking pay it back?” Taehyung's chest heaves as he breathes harshly, staying silent.
The alpha smirks mockingly, “of course not. You cannot do that. You can only live off of me like a damn parasite." The omega curls his fingers into a tight fist before punching the alpha right in his chest, causing him to stumble back and press a hand to where it hurts.
"You are lucky my fist did not land on your face instead." Taehyung spits angrily. Jungkook grits his teeth, taking a step forward. "Jungkook." Both of them turn their heads to where Yoongi stands by the door, few files in his hands as his eyes go back and forth between them.
The omega pushes himself off the wall before storming outside, not sparing the glaring alpha a glance. "The investors are willing to brush it off as a minor mistake, they want to talk to you," Yoongi announces nonchalantly, not bothering to comment on the latter's state.
"Let’s go," Jungkook replies, brushing his hair back using his fingers and swiftly adjusting his clothes before snatching the files from Yoongi's hands, and walking past him. Yoongi rushes behind him. "Jin talked to them and apologised on behalf of us." "Whatever."
Jimin wraps his fingers around Taehyung’s wrist the moment he sees him and pulls him aside. "What did you do?" Taehyung groans, "Hyung," "Seriously, what did you do? We heard Jungkook screaming from all the way over here." Taehyung chews on his bottom lip, sighing.
"I sent the files that were meant for the investors to his competitors instead and a not very friendly mail to the investors." "Tae!" "He called me all types of names! He had it coming, that spoiled motherfcker." Jimin raises a brow at him, "my God, isn't he your husband?"
"Let’s just— stop talking about him before I punch something." "I don't get you two." Taehyung swallows before he lets out a breath he was holding. "I don't either. Anyways, let’s go have lunch."

Here's the song that kinda inspired this…
Taehyung attempts to glare at the alpha who just got out of the shower dressed in some joggers and nothing else. His hair is still soaked, droplets of water dripping onto his bare chest while the towel on his shoulder barely manages to keep that one shoulder dry.
He is hot, and while he would never say that to anyone out loud, he lets himself think it for a nanosecond. He is still irritated by how he treated him this very morning but his scent betrays him when it sweetens for a few minutes because he cannot stop staring at those pecs.
Jungkook is on his phone as always, pacing back and forth with his phone gripped tightly in his hold as he argues with someone over the phone, his voice sounding a little threatening and a little dominant.
The omega gives the alpha who does not notice him a bored look, turning the sound of turning pages of the magazine he is holding louder and more aggressively on purpose.
"Can you put a damn shirt on? This is not a Calvin Klein photoshoot. Spare my goddamn eyes." Taehyung snaps in irritation and Jungkook turns his head to give him a silent glare before he is speaking back to the person on the other side of the line.
"Stupid alpha." Taehyung mutters under his breath, frowning at the man walking before him. He slams his magazine aside, purposefully making loud noises as he gets up and walks into the kitchen, reaching for the cupboard and pulling out a wine glass and a wine bottle.
The omega narrows his eyes before putting down the glass a little harshly. He smirks when he notices how Jungkook keeps giving him side glances in clear irritation and then slams the wine bottle as well.
Taehyung attempts to mock the alpha but ends up knocking the glass over instead, shattering all over the floor at his feet. The omega curses under his breath, kneeling to pick up the pieces gently.
"I'll call you later—"Jungkook ends the call and marches up to the omega, a scowl present on his face. "You piece of sh—"
"Ow!" Taehyung holds his hand up, standing to his feet as he pouts in pain, seeing the cut on his finger bleeding. "Do something! It hurts!" Jungkook arches a brow. "What do you want me to do? Kiss your boo-boo?" The alpha scoffs as the younger shoots him a glare.
He bumps his shoulder as he walks past him and rushes into the bathroom. "You had it coming for being a noisy brat, if you had shut the fuck up you wouldn't end up with a piece of glass plunged in your finger."
Jungkook yells after him, pulling the towel off his shoulder, and ruffling his hair a bit as he dries his hair. "Oh, stop being dramatic, it's a minor cut!" "Why are you acting like you got stabbed then?" Taehyung returns soon with a bandage around his finger, scowling.
"Go put a shirt on!" A faint blush takes over his cheeks as he eyes the alpha’s muscled back, watching how it flexes as he continuously moves his arms to dry his hair.
Jungkook turns to look at him with mirthful eyes, a mocking smirk taking over his lips. He steps forward, cornering the younger male against the fridge as he leans in, the smirk that starts to irritate Taehyung never wavering. The omega frowns, his blush intensifying.
"What are you doing?!" He flinches when Jungkook reaches to wipe the side of his mouth. "Wiping off your drool." Taehyung's jaw drops in disbelief, pushing the alpha back who looks at him with amusement, simply returning to drying his hair, unbothered. "You're so annoying!"
"There's nothing to drool over, you're the ugliest alpha I've ever seen in my entire life." The omega argues, clenching his jaw in annoyance.
"Sure. You do realise I'm an alpha and my sense of smell is like two times better than yours, right? I'm pretty sure that /overly/ sweet strawberry scent belongs to you." Taehyung grabs a broom and pushes the elder aside, silently collecting the shattered glass. "Thought so."
"That’s because I saw someone that is appealing in the magazine I was holding. Never your hideous face." Taehyung huffs, throwing the glass pieces away and turns around to glare at the man that has already left. He lets out an annoyed noise, letting out a breath he was holding.
"Why are you telling me this?" Jungkook looks at the younger with a blank face, uninterested. "Just to let you know that I'll be enjoying my life while you are here, hopefully choking on all your files." "Believe me, I'd rather choke on my files than hear this nonsense."
Taehyung stomps his foot, pinching the alpha's bicep. Jungkook slaps his hand away, glaring at him. "Never touch me. Just get out. Do whatever you want, just get out of my face." "I am!" Taehyung glares at him in irritation, pulling his phone out of his pocket when it rings.
"Hello– Seojoon hyung!" Taehyung breaks into a wide smile, his eyes turning into crescents as he holds his phone closer to his ear. "Are you almost here?" The alpha slams his file on the desk causing the younger to flinch and his smile to vanish as the alpha rises to his feet.
"What is he doing here?" Jungkook starts lowly, his jaw clenched as he nears the omega. Taehyung frowns deeply at the sudden change of demeanor. "He is picking me up?" Jungkook grabs the phone from the younger’s hold, ending the call. "No." "What?" "You're not going."
"Excuse me?! You're not the boss of me!" Taehyung bounces on his toes, reaching for his phone that the alpha holds away from him, pushing him back. "Well, too bad for you because you're not going." "What the hell is wrong with you?!" "You said you are going with Jimin."
"And Seojoon hyung! Why the hell does it matter!" Jungkook glares at him, clutching the phone tightly in his hand while gritting his teeth. "Did you hear what I said?" "No, I did not. This is ridiculous. I am free to go wherever I want with whoever I want, you asshole!"
"You are my husband only on papers. Do not ever forget that. You don’t control who I am with or where I am. I do. If you want to be a bitch, you are free to do so away from me." Taehyung spits angrily, snatching the phone from his grasp. "Get out."
"I was going to before you—" "Get out!" The alpha thunders, a hint of red flashing in his irises. Taehyung takes a step back, his heart aching in his chest in hurt. He swallows as he takes a few steps back before turning and storming out.
— Don’t hate Jungkook too much, I promise he has a reason lol
"You've been standing here scowling as if your mom scolded you for taking a forbidden amount of cookies for like," the omega checks his watch, "fifteen whole minutes." Jimin deadpans. Taehyung pouts, sitting down next to the omega with a soft release of breath.
"I'm so tired of that stupid-faced alpha." "Didn't you say you won’t talk to him anymore?" Jimin arches an eyebrow at the younger one who sticks out his bottom lip more.
"It's just— he's my husband, you know? I always imagined how my husband would sit and listen to me when I talked about my plans for the day or what I wanted to do for the next few weeks. Maybe even have input here and there, or even choose to come with me!" Taehyung smiles.
His body visibly perks up as he explains with his hands. His whole body slumps and his smile fades as he continues, "but Jungkook—" he swallows, his scent turning sour. "He's not like that and I keep searching for what I want in him and it makes him angry."
"He is always annoyed by my existence around him and—" Taehyung stops immediately when he realises what he's blabbering about. He turns to look at Jimin slowly, the other omega giving him a confused look.
"I'm very confused, if he's the complete opposite of what you've always wanted, why did you marry him? Was it not a marriage out of love?"
"N-no! It's just— our marriage is a little rocky right now," Jimin looks at Taehyung like he's unsure, he can see it in his eyes, but Jimin just shrugs and lets it go. He wraps his arms around the young omega and gently rubs his shoulder, comforting him.
"It will be okay, Tae. I never thought Jungkook would ever get married, to be honest. He is unbearable." He chuckles when Taehyung bobs his head in agreement.
"But you did, you married him and that means that you saw something good in him. It was good enough that you decided to spend the rest of your life with him, no? So, it'll be okay."
Taehyung knows that in any other case, he would be comforted by Jimin's kind words, but he is not right now. He is not because he never saw any good in Jungkook. He didn’t marry him because he loves him, he didn’t marry him because he wanted it.
"Taehyungie," A cheerful voice breaks the omega out of his thoughts causing him to look up at the approaching alpha. Taehyung breaks into a smile, standing up to wrap his arms around Seojoon. "Why did it take you so long to get here? You called me about half an hour ago."
Taehyung playfully scolds him once they pull back from their hug. Seojoon chuckles softly, reaching to hug Jimin as well. "The security gave me a hard time, but I managed to convince them to let me in." Taehyung frowns at that.
"I'm sorry, hyung. You should've called me so we could meet you outside. Jungkook is just—" Taehyung mentions his name through gritted teeth, clenching his fists in frustration. Seojoon reaches for one of his hands, giving it a gentle squeeze.
"It's alright. I'm here now, aren't I? It's nothing." The alpha reassures gently. Taehyung lets out a breath, nodding.
"I'm excited, cmon! Let's not ruin our day! Let's watch that movie because we need to leave tonight for our trip." Jimin bounces a little on his feet, resting a hand on Taehyung's shoulder in excitement.
Jungkook tightens his hold on the file, the part of the papers he is holding crumpling under his tight grip. The alpha has turned the whole space of his office into a suffocating area with his unbearable strong scent looming over the whole atmosphere of the room.
So, when Yoongi opens the door, he takes a sudden step back, his whole face twisting in visible discomfort. He reaches to cover his nose quickly. "Fuck, calm down!" Yoongj scolds, closing the door behind him before walking to the tall windows of the alpha’s office to open them.
The alpha takes in a deep breath once the windows are open and the air starts moving into the room. Jungkook discards his file before rising to his feet angrily. "What the hell happened?" "Taehyung happened. That unbearable brat." Jungkook retorts through his teeth.
/Seojoon hyung/ Jungkook scoffs in thought. The constant nagging of Taehyung’s voice in his head does not let him rest. "Can you calm down, first?! You are stinking up the room." The older alpha furrows his eyebrows in annoyance while Jungkook paces back and forth.
"He's leaving tonight," Jungkook says after a few minutes, his posture growing a little relaxed as he breathes. "Okay and?" "He's going on a 3 days trip with Jimin and Seojoon." Yoongi stops, his lips parting a little. "Oh."
"Alright, don't worry—" "I'm not worried!" Jungkook snaps, turning to shoot Yoongi a glare. "I am annoyed because he never listens. That stupid omega is like a headache that just won't go away." Yoongi rolls his eyes, "right. Sure. Just let him be, Jungkook."
"Taehyung is not eighteen anymore. He is an adult. Stop viewing him as naive, he's not anymore." Yoongi tries to assure him gently and places a hand on the alpha's shoulder. "Seojoon—" "Jimin is there." Jungkook exhales, shutting his eyes as he slowly resolves.
"Now, we have an important meeting. Stop thinking about him and let's go." Jungkook scoffs, "I don't care about him enough to /think/ about him." "Why are you throwing a damn tantrum then?" The older alpha retorts, reaching for the files on the desk. "Fuck you."
Taehyung sits between Jimin and Seojoon, eyes glued onto the big screen as he blindly reaches inside his ridiculously large popcorn bag. Seojoon is on his left, his eyes finding the screen from time to time, but he mainly has his eyes on Taehyung.
The omega does not really notice it, he doesn’t notice it when the corners of the alpha’s lips pull in a small smile everytime he laughs at the movie, he doesn't notice how Seojoon lingers for a moment inside the popcorn bag so their hands would briefly touch.
They sit through the movie quietly till the end, Jimin throwing remarks about the movie here and there, and Taehyung either argues back in disagreement in hushed whispers or nods his head in agreement.
When the movie ends, they get up and Jimin wraps an arm around Taehyung, giving him a smile that the younger omega cannot decipher.
They walk out of the movie theatre, and being a little crowded it was difficult to walk without being pushed around. Taehyung stumbles a little and finds himself squeezed against the older alpha as they walk.
"Come here, Tae. Let's switch so you don't get pushed as much." The omega offers kindly, throwing a glance at Seojoon. "I'll drop both of you off," Seojoon offers, smiling softly at Taehyung who nods, returning the smile.
"It's fine, I can drop Tae off and go home right after." Jimin waves his hand, giving the alpha a curt shake of his head. "But, why? Seojoon hyung has a car,” Taehyung furrows his eyebrows in confusion.
Jimin chews on his bottom lip as he avoids eye contact with the alpha and keeps his eyes on Taehyung instead. “There’s no need to bother him, yeah? I mean, he already picked us up and all.”
“There’s no bother, Jiminssi. Also, both of you need to go home quickly to pack for tonight. I don’t think public transportation will be much of a help in this situation. Please let me,” The alpha offers politely, motioning to his car.
“C’mon, Hyung! It won’t take long.” The car stops in front of Jimin's house first. The omega looks outside of the car's window and sits still for a moment. "Jiminssi?" Seojoon tilts his head, looking at the omega through his rear mirror.
"I'll see you later tonight, yeah?" Jimin places a hand on Taehyung's shoulder from the front seat. The younger turns in his seat and nods eagerly. "Don’t forget something, okay? We cannot go back to get it if you do!" Jimin chuckles, nodding his head.
Jimin gets out of the car and closes the door behind him. He stands in front of the car for a second longer before knocking on Taehyung's window. Seojoon lowers the window. "I'll let Jungkook know that you’re on your way home. Okay?" "Why?" The omega frowns, visibly unhappy.
"So he wouldn't worry." Jimin glances at the alpha who is looking the other way. He can clearly tell that he is listening. Taehyung rolls his eyes, "as i—" "Bye, Tae." Jimin cuts him off a little loudly, smiling at him before turning and walking back towards his house.
Taehyung slumps in his seat when Jimin leaves, he reaches for the radio and searches for something to listen to while Seojoon starts the car. "Are you ready for tonight?" Seojoon asks, looking ahead as he smiles, initiating a conversation. "Yeah! I'm so excited, Hyung!"
The alpha chuckles, endeared by the younger. "Are /you/ ready? I mean, I've been planning this trip with Jimin hyung for a while now, you kind of made a decision impulsively when I told you." The omega hums when he settles on a channel that he likes, leaning back in his seat.
"I am ready. I already have my stuff packed. I'll just be finalizing some papers in advance while I wait for you." "Well, that's impressive. Could never be me. It could be grumpy pants, though." Taehyung chuckles to himself at the new nickname he made up. "Grumpy pants?"
"Yeah, Jungkook." Seojoon snorts, "fits him well." Taehyung chews on the inside of his cheek, turning his head to look at the elder. "Why do you hate each other that much? I mean, I know he's not the most likeable person," he scoffs. "But, you really cannot stand each other."
"Is it not the same for you two?" Seojoon arches a brow at him before looking at the road. Taehyung freezes. "Why do you think that?" He laughs awkwardly. "I don't think I've met a lot of married couples who call their significant other names like you two do."
"I mean, I wouldn’t call my husband unlikeable." Taehyung waves him off, letting out an exhale. "That’s just our way of loving each other. Yeah, tough love." Seojoon smirks, "Right." "It's true! It's how I make sure our relationship stays exciting." He wants to throw up.
The rest of the ride goes by in silence, only the sound of the radio filling up the quiet air and Taehyung appreciates it. He hasn't been in a quiet relaxing atmosphere in a while and it makes him notice how much he took his peace of mind for granted before Jungkook.
As he sits in the car, he realises how tired he is. Tired of the bickering, the screaming and the constant fighting. He inhales deeply, closing his eyes as he rests his head on the window. He decides that for the few minutes of this ride, he will clear his head of Jungkook.
He will finally let his mind be quiet for once, without the sound of all the unsaid words and feelings stacked up in his head. Seojoon soon stops the car in front of the omega’s house. Taehyung looks outside and sighs, the sight of that house never pleasant.
"I'll see you soon?" The alpha tilts his head as he watches Taehyung pout. He nods his head as he unbuckles his seat belt. "In a few hours, don't be late!" "I'll pick you up, just let me know when you are done packing." Taehyung nods, hugging the alpha briefly before leaving.
Taehyung takes in a deep breath before pushing the door open, preparing himself to get screamed at by a certain alpha. He closes the door behind him and lets out a sigh of relief when he notices that the place is quiet and Jungkook is nowhere in sight.
A grin takes over his face as he rushes on his tip toes to his room and squeezes his eyes shut as he tries to close the door without making any noise. The omega pulls out his bags and starts packing quietly. It takes him around two hours until he is sending Seojoon a text.
'On my way!' The message reads when it comes. Taehyung pulls his bags outside and closes the door to his room quietly before turning. He freezes when he turns and sees Jungkook standing in front of him, his arms crossed over his chest with a brow arched. "What are you doing?"
"I told you I'm going on a trip tonight. You would've already known that if you listened and were not an ass—" "I heard you loud and clear and I said no." Jungkook deadpans and it only pisses off the younger. He scoffs, "you did?" He pauses. "Oh right, I don't give a shit."
Jungkook gives him a look, a smirk climbing onto his face. "Put your clothes back inside." "You're not the boss of me!" "In fact, I am. Did you forget that you work for me upon your father's request?" "Well, this is not your office! This is—" Taehyung pauses.
He feels a familiar ache in his chest when he can't finish his sentence. This is Jungkook’s house. Not his. Not theirs. It belongs to Jungkook. He swallows the lump in his throat as he looks up at the alpha. "Outside of this house, you can't tell me what to do. It's my life."
"You're not outside of this house now, are you? I said no. I will call Jimin and—" "No!" Taehyung exclaims, dropping his bag as his chest heaves.
"I am leaving! Leave me alone! I want to get out of here, if not permanently then just, I want to be away for a bit." He breathes heavily, his voice growing shakily as he holds back the tears that gather in his eyes. Jungkook gives him a long look, lips pressed in a thin line.
"Go." Taehyung sighs in relief before turning to grab the bags that he dropped. "On one condition." "You've got to be kidding me—" "Then go back inside." The omega grits his teeth in frustration, "what the hell do you want?" "I'll scent you."
"What?!" Taehyung purses his lips, drops his bags and turns back to glare at the alpha who looks like he didn’t just say the most ridiculous thing the omega has ever heard.
"What? Scared?" Jungkook takes a step forward, holding the younger’s gaze as he leans in. Taehyung takes a step back, his lips parting as he inhales when the alpha nears him. The scent of sandalwood thickens in the air as Jungkook steps forward every time the omega steps back.
The scent is not overwhelming, it is not to the point of suffocation, but rather dizzying. Taehyung's sweet strawberry scent spikes in response. The omega inhales a sharp breath when he feels his back hit the wall and Jungkook doesn’t stop moving forward.
"Why would I be scared? You possessive prick." Taehyung snaps, furrowing his eyebrows in disdain. The alpha lets out a scornful laugh, "possessive of what? You? I don't care about you, /cub/."
"Alphas scent their omegas out of possessiveness. It is to claim them as theirs. We don't have that kind of relationship, /alpha/. Do you walk around scenting random people just because you want to?" Taehyung lets out a huff through his teeth, rolling his eyes.
Jungkook’s gaze sharpens as he stares at the omega with a clenched jaw. Taehyung can see it, can smell it in how his scent is turning from its natural somewhat sweet smell to sour. Jungkook is getting angry. Taehyung’s nose twitches uncomfortably as the scent thickens in the air.
"Either you stand still as I scent you, or get out of my face and back into your goddamn room, Taehyung." Jungkook speaks lowly, his tone dripping with suppressed anger as he stares into his eyes with that dominating gaze of his.
Taehyung hates that gaze, it makes him feel small. It makes him feel like a kid that needs to listen to his parents, and he refuses to submit. "Have you lost your fucking mind, you ancient alpha?!" Taehyung steps forward, the gap between them lessening, and their noses touching.
Taehyung stands tall, his eyes holding the older alpha’s eyes while the latter towers over him, completely blocking the omega's view of anything that is behind him. Jungkook looks at him with a glint in his eyes. The side of his lip pulling upwards in mockery, "ancient?"
"Yes. Ancient. You old crusty, dusty—" "How old are you?" Jungkook arches a brow at the younger who frowns at him. "Twenty, an age that you once were at least a hundred years ago."
"I am only seven years older than you, how old is your Seojoon hyung?" Jungkook speaks his name with a tone indicating clear mockery in disdain, ridiculing. He speaks of his name like he knows who is better, that Seojoon is below him, and it bugs Taehyung.
"Thirty-four, way too fucking mature compared to—" "Right. Thirty-four. He's fourteen years older than you, you insufferable omega!" Jungkook sneers angrily, clutching the younger’s wrists when he reaches to push him back.
Taehyung winces when the alpha tightens his hold on his wrists, pressing them up against the wall. "You—" "You are so disgusting! What the hell are you implying?" Taehyung chest rises and falls as he breathes out his words, his face twisting in confusion as the alpha glares.
They stand like this for a few minutes, the words exchanged finally dawning on him. He clenches his jaw, letting him go. He backs up. "I am not implying shit. You cannot properly judge those who surround you so either you get scented or get the fuck out of my face, right now."
"No." "No?" "Yes. No. You— Hyung is my friend. I don’t know what goes around in your sick head, but even though we are not truly married, I won’t ever—" "Taehyung, that's not what I meant." "Then what? What were you trying to achieve by pointing out the age difference?"
"Just— for once!" Jungkook growls angrily, "for once, and without questioning me, listen to me!" Taehyung swallows the lump in his throat, watching as the alpha runs his fingers through his hair, frustrated. "Why would I listen to you? Did you ever prove yourself trustworthy?"
"I told you. You won’t leave until I scent you. If you don’t want that, then go back inside, you're going nowhere." Taehyung lets out a humourless laugh, "And how are you going to stop me? Carry me back to my room?" "You think I won’t do that if I had to?" Jungkook challenges.
Taehyung stands there for a few minutes, unwavering as he stares back at the man. Jungkook doesn’t move, he stands, waiting. He gulps and closes his eyes as he turns his head to the side, baring his neck. Jungkook lets out a breath as he watches him, his posture relaxing.
"I hate you so much." Taehyung murmurs when Jungkook nears him, dipping his head down to the side of his neck, where his scent gland is. "I hate you so much for what you make me go through.
Jungkook doesn't say anything as he presses his tongue against the skin, ignoring how the omega’s breath hitches. He presses closer when Taehyung doesn't push him away, takes hold of both his wrists and brings them up to press them against his lips, where the scent glands are.
Taehyung lowers his gaze when the alpha goes back for his neck, his lips pressing against where the mating mark is supposed to be.
Jungkook parts his lips, his teeth brushing against the skin. Taehyung freezes, resting his hands on his chest in an attempt to push him but he tightens his grip on his wrists, holding him still. "Calm down."
"Jungkook—" Jungkook bites down on the skin gently, not enough to break the skin, only enough to bring blood to the surface. He sucks on the skin briefly, leaving a bruise behind. Taehyung bites down on his lower lip, holding back a whine.
The alpha pulls back then, letting go of him completely as he steps back. Taehyung feels it then, the cold air that the alpha shielded him from. Goosebumps rise on his skin as he watches the alpha lean back on the opposite wall, crossing his arms over his chest.
Jungkook does not give permission verbally, but when Taehyung clumsily grabs his bags and rushes out, the alpha does not stop him.
When Taehyung gets inside the car, the first thing that greets Seojoon is the overwhelming scent coming off the omega. Someone else would have thought that Jungkook is actually there with them, but it is not the case.
Seojoon realises that the alpha scented Taehyung thoroughly. There was not an inch of Taehyung that didn't reek of the alpha. Seojoon knows. It is a warning. He knows the scent is there as a threat to him.
So when Taehyung asks the alpha if he is alright, Seojoon tightens his hands on the steering wheel and nods briefly before driving off towards Jimin's house to pick him up. Besides Taehyung and Jimin's short conversations on the way, the ride was silent.
The tension is thick in the air during the silent pauses that the two omegas tried to fill with little talk and jokes but the alpha remained silent, cracking a smile when they talked to him or answering with a hand on Taehyung’s knee when he asks if he is okay.
The flight takes about an hour and a few more minutes for Taehyung, Jimin and Seojoon to reach Jeju island. "Hyung, be honest with me, are you okay?" Taehyung asks after they check into their hotel, a worried look taking over his face as he looks at the alpha.
"I am okay, why?" The alpha smiles slightly. Taehyung looks at him unsure, his lips part to say something but gets interrupted when Jimin approaches them, giving each of them the key to their rooms.
"It was a long day," Jimin yawns in his hands before leaning back to stretch his back, "I think we should sleep now, let's go to Hallasan Mountain tomorrow!" Taehyung nods eagerly, but his mood dims once again when Seojoon nods with a thin smile that doesn’t reach his eyes.
“Goodnight, Jiminssi. Goodnight, Tae.” The alpha rests a hand on Taehyung’s back before smiling at both of them and turning to leave for his room.
Once the alpha is out of sight, Jimin turns to Taehyung. “Tae, I didn’t want to say this. I know he is your friend but I am very uncomfortable with the way he touches you. His hand was really close to your lower back this time.”
Taehyung parts his lips in surprise, furrowing his eyebrows, “It was probably nothing, hyung. It’s not weird.” Jimin lets out a sigh, giving Taehyung one last look before nodding. Jimin has always found that the way the alpha behaves around Taehyung was not normal.
Especially because Taehyung is now married, he knows there are boundaries he should respect but Seojoon repeatedly discards all the boundaries he should have with a married omega.
Jimin does not understand why Taehyung does not notice it, he has tried to talk about it once before, only to be met with a defensive answer from Taehyung. The omega seems to fully trust his friend, so Jimin decides to let it go.
He thinks that if Jungkook himself is not talking about it, he shouldn’t push it either.
Taehyung giggles as Jimin sways him from side to side, dancing to the beat with smiles big on their faces. Jimin lets the omega take hold of his finger, twirling him before he lands his back on his chest. Seojoon smiles as he watches Taehyung from the bar, laughing.
TRIGGER WARNING/ DRINK SPIKING⚠️ "Two glasses, please." The alpha motions for the bartender, his eyes on Taehyung as he dances with Jimin. He pulls out the small packet from his pocket, taking one pill out.
Jimin feels his phone vibrate in his pocket, stopping in his tracks as Taehyung pouts. "Hyung, ignore it!" "It's Yoongi, it could be important business. Wait here, okay?" Jimin leans in, yelling over the music.
Taehyung lets out a huff when the omega leaves, turning towards the bar, where Seojoon is sitting. He approaches him with a pout that makes the alpha laugh, motioning for him to sit. "Dance with me!" "I am too old to dance, Tae." Taehyung rolls his eyes with a smile.
"Are you having fun at least? You didn't look too happy on our way here." Seojoon nods, pulling the glass up to his lips as he takes a sip from the alcohol, "I just had some problems with work before picking you up, my mood wasn't the greatest."
"Oh." Taehyung's shoulders relax, "I thought it was because of someone else." Taehyung smiles, letting out an exhale through his nose. "Where is Jimin?" "I don't know, Yoongi hyung called him, so he had to go for a bit."
Seojoon reaches for the glass on the bar, pushing it over to Taehyung who stares at it curiously. "Here, I ordered it for you." Seojoon smiles kindly. Taehyung reaches for it, bringing it up to his nose. "Is it alcoholic?" "No, it's not. It's just ginger beer."
Taehyung nods then, taking the drink up to his lips. Before he could take a sip out of it, he flinches when the drink is snatched from his hands and thrown at the floor causing the liquid to splash everywhere, the glass shattering.
Taehyung turns around in his seat, a scowl on his face as he opens his mouth to scream at whoever it is until he sees Jungkook standing behind him with his jaw locked. "What are you—" "Did you drink it?" "What are you doing here, Jungkook?!" "Fuck, just answer me!"
"Obviously not, you broke it!" Jungkook turns to Seojoon then who has sat up straighter in his seat, his eyes flashing bright red as he lunges at him, holding him by the collar. "Let go of me!" Seojoon grabs the alpha's wrist, trying to push the unmoving alpha off him.
"I told you I'll fucking kill you next time, didn’t I?!" Jungkook screams, tightening his fist on his shirt as he pulls him out of the bar. "Jungkook, what the hell are you doing! Let go of him!" Taehyung rushes behind him, grabbing onto his arm.
The alpha ignores him as he pulls the older alpha who is thrashing against him outside. "You did it again, didn't you? You fucking asshole!" Jungkook thunders in fury as he pushes him back. "I didn’t do shit!" Seojoon retorts angrily.
"Jungkook!" Taehyung goes to stand in front of Seojoon, pushing Jungkook back. The alpha breathes in, swallowing as he looks between both of them before reaching for Taehyung’s wrist, pulling him away towards the hotel.
"Let go of me!" Taehyung snatches his wrist out of the alpha’s grip, making the latter stop as well. "Who do you think you are? A fucking hero? What the hell did you just do?" "Shut the hell up! If you had just listened, we wouldn't be here in the first place!"
"Why are you here! I don’t need you supervising me wherever I go! I'm not a damn kid!" Taehyung's face twists with anger as he steps up to the alpha. "Then stop acting like one! For once, stop being so goddamn stupid, Taehyung." "What—" "He spiked your drink!"
Taehyung pauses. Jungkook breathes out, shifting on his feet. "Listen—" "Did you see him?" "What?" "Did you see him do that?" "No, I didn't." "Then I don't believe you."
"Do you think this is a joke? Do you really think I'd lie about something like that?" "You don't like him—" "Oh for God’s sake," Jungkook lets out a humourless laugh, "I don't like him, so? I'll accuse him of spiking a damn drink?" "You didn't see him!"
"Does him doing it before serve you as enough evidence then? Because you are clearly not thinking straight right now!" Taehyung feels his chest tighten as he looks at the alpha who looks like he is on the verge of losing it. He swallows, "Seojoon hyung is my friend, he won't—"
The alpha's gaze softens, his tone lowering. "He was your friend back when you were eighteen too." "What the hell are you talking about?" "What do you remember from your eighteenth birthday, Taehyung?"
"I— it was two years ago, I can’t remember all of it—" "You should at least remember the morning after." Taehyung's eyes brim with tears as he stares at him in hesitance, "the last thing I remembered was talking to Seojoon hyung after—" "Right, after he offered you a drink."
"You did drink it back then, that's why you don't remember the rest of it. I was there, I saw it. Yoongi and I, we took you back home." "This can't be, he has always treated me like a younger brother!" The omega shakes his head as he lets out rigid breaths.
Jungkook closes his eyes in frustration, glaring at him. "A brother wouldn't offer his younger brother an alcoholic drink at eighteen, let’s fucking start there, Taehyung. You know damn well the drinking age is twenty-one!"
"He was thirty two back then, if you didn't know then he surely had to know. He has known you since you were literally sixteen, do you know what do we call a person like that? Cause it sure as hell is not a good word!"
Taehyung lowers his head, his whole body tense as he holds onto the hem of his shirt. He squeezes his eyes shut, holding back the tears threatening to fall. "I took a flight today because I couldn't rest knowing he's here with you."
"I know that it's a lot to take in, you—" Taehyung breaks into a sob immediately, he brings his hands up to his face, hiding behind them as he cries. Jungkook’s shoulders sink as he watches him. He takes careful steps towards him, reaching for him. "Taehyung," he calls softly.
The omega stays in his place, crying into his hands as his body shakes with every sob that breaks out of him. Jungkook takes a final step closer and gently pulls him close, wrapping his arms around him. "I know." Jungkook whispers, resting his hand on top of his head.
Jungkook stands quietly as the omega cries in his arms, not moving. Taehyung was not hugging him back, he had his face hidden in the palms of his hand as he cried, yet he let Jungkook gently push his head onto his shoulder.
The alpha lets out a puff of air when he feels the omega’s entire body shake with the force the sobs are escaping him. Jungkook is usually angry, but nothing compares to the amount of anger he feels, and for once it is not towards Taehyung.
It is towards the bastard that thought of hurting him. He feels the need to go over to the alpha and break his jaw, but it is not his priority at the moment.
He wonders what could be in the crying omega’s head, he thinks of the possibility of him thinking Seojoon managed to do anything. He thinks and tries to understand, and he does when the omega hesitantly raises his head, his eyes brimming with tears, “did he do something–”
“Taehyung,” the alpha whispers into his hair, the hand around him tightening for a moment, “he didn’t,” he swallows, looking down at him. “He didn’t touch you. I wouldn’t let that happen. Don’t cry.”
“Tae!” They both look up when they hear a faint voice to see Jimin running over to them with a worried look on his face.
Jungkook takes a step back, taking his arms off the omega who starts walking towards Jimin and throws himself in his arms when he reaches him. “What happened? I couldn’t found you and Yoongi hyung said–”
Jungkook turns away, tuning out of their conversation. He clenches his jaw as he stares at the space before him, pulling his phone out of his pocket and dialling a number. “Jin, I need to file a restraining order.”
Taehyung turns his head slightly, watching Jungkook walk into the hotel with his phone pressed against his ear as he speaks rather harshly on the phone. He turns to Jimin, "is Yoongi hyung here too?" "Yes. He called to ask about our location, when we came back you were gone."
"I need to talk to him. Can you call him, please?" The omega sniffles slightly, leaning back in Jimin’s arms. The omega gives him a worried look, "Tae, I think you need to rest first." "No, I—" Taehyung takes in a shaky breath, "I can't rest before talking to him."
"It's better to forget it, Taehyung." Yoongi shakes his head, leaning back in his seat. "No! I deserve to know what happened. It happened to /me/, I was—" Taehyung pauses, looking away. Yoongi stays silent for a moment, staring at the omega with sympathy.
"Jungkook and I happened to be there at the time. We overheard that it was your birthday while we were there and noticed Seojoon offering you a drink. I didn't think much of it because I knew he was your friend, I thought it was nonalcoholic and thought nothing of it, but—
"Jungkook told me he saw Seojoon adding something to your drink, it clicked when you were suddenly out of it. Jungkook interfered before anything happened. They fought, and then we took you home. Thats it." "So it is true, he did spike my drink." The omega whispers to himself.
"Why would Jungkook lie?" "I hoped he was lying. I really hoped that he was wrong. I thought— I never thought Seojoon hyung would ever do this, I—" Jimin reaches for his hand, gently squeezing it as he nods his head in reassurance. Taehyung inhales.
"You need to rest, okay? We will deal with that bastard. You don't need to worry about him anymore." Yoongi stands up, patting the omega's back then pats his head. Taehyung nods, looking down at his hands.
The alpha unzips his bag, looking through it for some sweatpants to change into. He ruffles through his hair with the towel before putting it over his shoulder and taking off the one around his waist, getting into his sweatpants.
He pauses when he hears a knock on the door. Frowning, he pulls it open. His lips part in surprise when he sees Taehyung standing at his door, his hands barely visible under the huge arms of his sweater as he fidgets with his fingers.
“What are you doing here?” “Why did you book another room?” Taehyung asks timidly, his eyes everywhere but not on the alpha who arches a brow in question.
“Since when did we share rooms? Not even back home. We only do when our parents are around.” Jungkook answers, staring at the omega for a moment before he leaves the door open and walks back inside.
Taehyung follows in silently, his eyes curiously looking around the room as he stops in front of the couch and stares as Jungkook moves back and forth from his bag to his wardrobe. "Are you staying?" Taehyung asks. "Only for tomorrow, I'll fly back to Seoul tomorrow night."
Taehyung notes how this is most likely the first conversation they had that didn't include yelling and mocking each other. He walks over to the alpha and takes the shirt he is transferring to the wardrobe out of his hand, putting it himself instead.
Taehyung then walks back to the bag and takes out the two pieces of clothes left and walks back to where Jungkook seem to have frozen. The alpha gives him a bewildered look as Taehyung closes the wardrobe after putting the bag inside. "You brought that much clothes for a day?"
Jungkook stares at him for a few minutes before walking away without answering. He reaches for the bottle of water on his nightstand and turns to grab a cup before he stops, surprised, when he sees Taehyung standing with his hand stretched out with the cup for him to take.
"What the hell are you doing?" He closes his eyes in frustration for a second, snatching the cup out of the omega’s hand. "You want to drink—" "Stop it, Taehyung." "Stop what?" "Stop trying to be nice."
Taehyung breathes in, his eyes growing a little bigger as he stares up at the alpha, "I just saw that you wanted a cup—" "You never did it before, why are you doing it now?" Jungkook looks pissed and Taehyung is confused. "Why are you so angry? I am just trying to be civil."
"You don't have to. You don’t owe me anything, so just stop." Jungkook moves to pass by him when Taehyung clutches his wrist, stopping him. "But I do! If you didn’t come, he could've done something to me."
"You don't owe me for doing the bare minimum. I know what kind of person he is, I knew that he was here with you and the risk of him doing something to you was high so I came. Like you said, I am not a hero. If I didn’t come, that would just be not okay. So stop, Taehyung."
"Jungkook," Taehyung starts calmly, tightening his hold on the alpha’s wrist. "No. I knew what he did and didn't tell you, does that not bother you at all?" The omega shakes his head, "I wouldn’t have believed you." "Why are you sure that this is my excuse?"
"Is it not?" Taehyung asks then, looking at him like he already knows the answer. Jungkook grows silent, staring back at him with an unreadable expression. He pulls his wrist out of the omega's hand.
"I don't care. Just stop, it makes me uncomfortable. Go to your room." The alpha says coldly, walking away. Taehyung sighs, looking after him until he goes into the bathroom and locks the door behind him. The omega purses his lips with one last glance at the door before leaving.
Jungkook stands tensed as he waits for the sound of the door closing, and when it comes, he lets out a deep breath. He turns and looks at himself in the mirror, freshly showered yet he looks exhausted.
He recalls last night, the night Taehyung left, and he stayed up in his room, on his bed, frustrated. It wasn’t the angry type of frustration— he was rather tense and unsettled about the thought of Seojoon alone with Taehyung.
He tried to sleep, to forget about it and push it aside knowing Jimin was with him anyway. But, he couldn’t. There was that constant nagging feeling that told him that no matter what, he could— he would do something.
Jungkook tells himself that he doesn’t care enough about Taehyung, he tells himself that he needs to go because of his morals. He can’t possibly know that something like that could happen and not go, that would make him a horrible person.
He tells himself that even if he goes and nothing happens, he at least settled the nagging of his conscience. So, after a day full of cumulative work to compensate for the amount of time he would be gone, that same night he was boarding a plane heading to Jeju Island with Yoongi.
He leans on the bathroom counter and looks at himself in the mirror as he recalls the events of this night. He remembers how he rushed out of the airport and had Yoongi call Jimin so many times until he picked up.
Jungkook couldn’t wait any longer when Jimin finally picked up, he heard the loud music through the phone and assumed they were in a bar. Luckily, he was right.
Otherwise, he doesn’t know what could’ve happened. He turns on the tap water and splashes his face with some cold water, breaking his chain of thoughts.
He breathes in slowly and lowers his head when he feels his eyes getting heavier. He unlocks his bathroom door and walks out. He holds his breath, expecting Taehyung to still be there just for the sake of being a brat, but his shoulders relax when he finds his room empty.
He gets in bed, resting his head back on the pillow, and closes his eyes to let the darkness consume him into unconsciousness.
Jungkook sleeps while Taehyung turns on his bed to sleep on his side, his eyes looking at the moon shining brightly outside of his window behind the see-through white curtains.
He blinks slowly as his mind drifts to the events of the day and how his friend of four years turned out to be such a sick person.
Seojoon and Taehyung, both of them met through Taehyung’s father when Taehyung was sixteen. He always thought that his Seojoon hyung was cool, gentle, and loving. He looked up to him and admired him as a person.
Seojoon was someone that was present for Taehyung’s dark times throughout those four years despite the omega being much younger than him. Taehyung thought that they had an incredible brotherly bond and it turned out, Seojoon never saw him as a brother and instead—
Taehyung shivers just thinking about it. He feels disgusted. He got in the shower and scrubbed his body till his skin was glaring red, he kept scrubbing every touch that he now realises had a sick intention behind it.
He can't help but still feel his hands on him, on his knees, on his lower back, on his thighs and around his waist— he thought nothing of it, he thought of it as brotherly until it suddenly came to light that it was not.
He closes his eyes shut when he feels those tears brim his eyes again. He is tired. Tired of those continuous tears that seem never-ending. He hears Seojoon's voice in his ears, when he came back to his room and called him.
"Taehyung! Thank God, I was worried about you and—" Seojoon started once he picked up Taehyung’s call, and the omega immediately interrupted.
"Did you put something in my drink?" Taehyung's voice was barely above a whisper as he asked. Seojoon did not reply right away. Instead, he noticed how his breathing had gotten heavier over the phone.
"Is that what Jungkook told you?" "Yes. Did you do it?" "Why would you believe him? What did he ever do to you for you to trust him over me and think—" "Hyung," Taehyung pleaded, his voice cracking as his heart started to feel too big for his chest in the most painful way.
"Did you do it?" He asked again. Seojoon doesn’t reply. He ends the call. Taehyung clutched the phone tightly in his hand as he slowly sat on his bed and let all the held-back tears flow.
The omega snaps out of his thoughts when he feels it again, the pain in his chest. He sits up on his bed, blinking rapidly to get rid of the tears before pulling his legs up and wrapping his arms around them, staring outside at the moon.
The omega turns his head, his eyes falling on the shirt sitting on his nightstand. He stares at it for a moment before reaching for it, laying it on his lap.
He feels the fabric under his fingertips as he traces it slowly. He doesn’t notice it when the side of his lip pulls up into a ghost of a smile, as the day he first met Jungkook comes back to his memory like a movie.
He looks at the shirt he grabbed from the alpha's room before leaving for a moment longer before bringing it up to his nose, inhaling gently. He recalls the day they met, when he was seventeen and Jungkook was twenty five. They met a few days before his eighteenth birthday.
Taehyung was the one in his office, upon his father's demands. Kim Nam-gil, Taehyung’s father, had been trying to get that marriage to happen ever since Taehyung’s sixteenth birthday.
Nam-gil wanted an engagement to happen first, to tie the two families together as soon as possible, it would benefit them greatly, but Jungkook's father claimed that the omega was still too young, and it was best to wait.
So, before his eighteenth birthday, Taehyung was dragged to the Jeon's office, where his father had given him a ted talk of how much being related to them would benefit their business and their lives significantly.
Taehyung didn’t care about it all, he didn’t care about the luggage of gold that came with being related to a Jeon. He wanted to find an alpha that he likes, someone he can love, and someone that would love him for him.
But he stood and listened because otherwise, his father would call him a useless omega. A weight on his shoulders that he cannot make use of. Taehyung saw Jungkook for the first time that day when his father left him for a meeting with Jae-Kyung, the alpha’s father.
He was walking with his head lowered, focused on his phone with a bottle of juice in his hands when he bumped into the alpha, spilling his beverage over the files he was holding. He raised his head to apologise, only to be met with a deadly glare and an already pissed off alpha.
"Are you fucking blind?! Watch where you're going!" The alpha screamed at him making the omega screw his face in anger as well. "Maybe you should watch where you're going! Did you not see me walking?!" Taehyung clapped back, glaring at the alpha who had his jaw locked in fury.
"This is my office. I walk as I please. You should fucking watch it." Jungkook retorted then, throwing the file at the omega's chest before walking away. The refusal of the marriage proposal came from the alpha's side at that time.
He claimed that the omega was too young for marriage and he was not going to get married to a teenager. He called Nam-gil disgusting for even offering such a thing.
Taehyung’s father claimed that he would offer a marriage proposal to Park Seojoon, and Jungkook’s only comment was that he didn’t care.
Though after Taehyung’s eighteenth birthday, the Kims received a phone call that the alpha agreed to the marriage, on one condition. They would get married after Taehyung turns twenty years of age.
Their marriage took place a week after Taehyung turned twenty. It was the second time Taehyung had seen the alpha. Both of them stayed in separate rooms, and the alpha never tried to go near him in any way.
The last few months of their marriage, the omega remembers, were filled with nothing else but screaming and constant fighting.
Taehyung smiles as he remembers how much he hated the alpha back then, he thought of him as stuck up and spoiled.
He still thinks of him as such, but today, for the first time in months, he saw a side of the alpha that he never saw before. A side that made him realise that, even though they are married, they don't know each other.
He realised that he knows nothing about the alpha at all because the Jungkook he knows would never come to his rescue at all. The Jungkook he knows hates him so much that he would get up and leave the moment he walks in, unable to stand being in the same space as him.
But that Jungkook, Taehyung thinks, is not what Jungkook is at all. He thought he had seen everything of the alpha, and he came to the conclusion that he was just anger personified, but tonight's events got him questioning himself.
He questions if he misjudged him. He wonders if there is more to the alpha than what he shows. As he inhales the alpha's scent from his shirt, he lets out a quiet exhale. He shifts on his bed, laying down on his side, and brings the shirt up to his nose again— hugging it close.
"For tonight, I only feel safe with you." Taehyung murmurs, lowering his head into the shirt to hide from the moonlight as he lets himself finally drift off to sleep.
Jungkook closes his eyes when the air flows in his direction, hitting his face and making his clothes stick to his body as he sits on top of the rocks in front of the sea, watching at a distance where the sky meets the sea and their colours somehow blend together beautifully.
The alpha hangs his leg from the rock as he sits, resting his foot on the sand and letting the occasional waves soak his foot in the salty, soothing water.
Amidst his anger and his frustration, as he sits here in front of the sea and feels the water against his skin, he finds himself relaxing. He feels his head which is usually full of thoughts, and thumping with headache, go quiet for once.
His shoulders that always felt heavy, they feel like nothing for once. The frown that he always holds on his face, he feels its absence. He sits and does not think or feel anything.
It has been years since he has felt any kind of peace and he breathes out a sigh when after years, he finds it by the sea as the waves move towards him, they touch his skin and take his worries as they move back into the sea, throwing away the weight it took off of the alpha.
The sound of footsteps on the rocks catches the alpha's attention. He turns his head to see Taehyung struggling as he walks on the rocks, his eyes focused on his steps.
He has his arms hovering in the air for balance as he walks until he reaches the alpha and finally raises his head to see that the man was already watching him.
He feels his cheeks heat up then moves his eyes somewhere else for a second, lowering himself to sit on a rock next to the alpha. Jungkook stares at him for a moment longer then turns his head back towards the sea before him.
"Yoongi hyung told me where you are." Taehyung speaks up after a few moments of silence, his voice quiet as he brings his legs up to his chest, hugging them. "That’s his way of getting fired instead of handing in his resignation letter, I guess."
Taehyung chuckles and rolls his eyes before turning his head towards the man who gives him a perplexed look. "I came here to tell you something," the omega starts, biting the inside of his cheek nervously. Jungkook looks ahead, waiting. "Thank you."
They fall silent for a moment, the alpha's face not giving anything away. He looks nonchalant like he didn’t even hear him. "I told you. You owe me nothing." Is the alpha's answer when it comes. He is not looking at the omega, his eyes are only focused ahead, on the horizon.
Taehyung breathes in, his eyes gentle as they find a home on the alpha's lips. His eyes take advantage of the fact that the alpha can't tell exactly where he's looking and lets his eyes stare for a moment longer. Taehyung smiles.
"Even if you say that. What I feel is a totally different story." He murmurs audibly, his eyes trailing the scar on the alpha's cheek. "You cared enough about me to get on a plane and come here yourself to make sure I was okay."
Jungkook's lips part to protest but Taehyung beats him to it. "I know. You don’t care about me. I know that well." The alpha's lips slowly close as he purses them into a thin line, looking at the other side.
"You don't, but I appreciate that when I am in a tough situation, despite your unhappiness and discomfort with me, and despite feeling like I am a burden, you still came for me. Thank you for caring for just a bit because,"
The omega swallows, forcing a smile while his vision slightly blurs with tears. "No one cared enough about my well-being before. Not even my family."
Taehyung lowers his eyes then, staring at his knees. "My family used me for their gain my whole life. No one cared if I was hurt or not, if I wanted something or not. No one stopped to think, does Taehyung want to do this? Does he want to drop college for marriage?"
"Not even my own blood would come for me if they were in your place, Jungkook." The alpha frowns, his eyebrows pulling together as he hesitantly turns his head and looks at the omega.
"So, thank you. Even if you did it for selfish reasons, even if it was to not let guilt eat you up, and even if it was just because of your morals— thank you for coming for me because, after all, you still came for me."
Taehyung raises his head then and sees the alpha staring at him with a frown on his face. Taehyung smiles when their eyes meet, his smile a little too big that it stretches into a shape similar to a box.
His eyes turn into crescents as he smiles, and Jungkook stares at him with an unreadable expression. His eyes land on his smile, and they stop there.  He holds his breath, taking in the scene before him. His frown deepens.
Taehyung’s smile eventually fades into a small one that sits effortlessly on his face. He sighs then stretches his legs before he stands up on his feet, swaying for a moment as he almost slips on a rock.
Jungkook clenches his jaw, closing his eyes for a minute before he is on his feet as well, taking steady steps on the rock until he reaches the omega. He stares at how he struggles for a second before scoffing, and reaching for his hand.
Taehyung stops in surprise and loses his balance, but Jungkook is quick to steady him, pulling him closer by his arm.
"Watch your steps." The alpha says in a low voice, their eyes meeting for a second before they both continue walking on the unsteady rocks, the omega grasping at the alpha whenever he feels like falling.
— I'll see you later tonight or tomorrow morning🤍 I love them way too much🥹
