After months of waiting, Taehyung finally receives a letter that lets him know who his mate is. Jungkook sounds great on paper, and Taehyung can't wait to meet and get to know him. He's finally happy. But then, he finds out something unexpected. #taekookau πŸ”ž [Minors DNI.]

Taehyung stares outside the window, eyes fixed on the sky despite the raindrops flowing down the glass pane. It's raining so heavily that he hasn't even been able to go to the bakery, let alone have a good business day. He sighs.
The day feels gloomy and mundane, and Taehyung thinks maybe he should just lie down in bed and take some rest. He's been tirelessly working the past few weeks, baking day in and day out to meet all the orders he's received. And while he's grateful, it's physically exhausting.
He dips his knee onto his mattress, when someone pulls on the bell outside his door, and knocks. Taehyung frowns as he turns around and gets the door. He's surprised to see the postman, holding out a letter to him and an umbrella over his head.
Bowing and wishing him a good day, Taehyung watches the postman scurry away, and shuts the door. He walks back to his bed, sits on the edge and turns the letter around. A gasp escapes his lips when he sees it's from the testing center – it's about whether he has a mate yet.
His nimble, slender fingers tear at the top of the envelope and pull the folded paper out, before he unfolds it and starts to read. Taehyung feels butterflies in his stomach, as finally after such a long wait, the details of his mate are revealed to him in written form.

Two days later, Taehyung is still on a high with all the newfound information about his mate. He's still making plans on how he should write a letter and ask Jungkook to meet. But unexpectedly, a letter is delivered to him when he's at his bakery.
🀍🀍🀍
Taehyung is extremely excited, nervous and giddy, all three feelings mixed together. It's still drizzling, so he carries his umbrella as he turns around the town hall and approaches the garden Jungkook said he would be at.
Taehyung wonders what Jungkook looks like – the thought gives him butterflies. As he crosses the wet grass, careful not to get his clothes dirty, Taehyung's imagination races ahead of him. Jungkook, his mate – they're finally about to meet.
Taehyung is carrying his favorite item from his bakery, which he has wrapped in a small gingham–patterned cloth and is holding close to his chest. He hopes that Jungkook is going to like it.
Eventually, he spots a man, facing the other way and standing tall and proud – his hair is wavy and dark and just slightly longer than his own. The breeze makes it fly in different directions. For some reason, Taehyung feels a little intimidated.
As he gets closer, he can pick up on Jungkook's scent. It's strong, musky, and such a nice addition to the scent of the rain and the wet earth. Taehyung manages to walk close enough, and finally speaks. "Jungkook-ssi?"
The man turns around immediately, and reveals the most heartbreakingly beautiful face Taehyung has ever seen. Beautiful big eyes, plush lips, a soft curve on his nose, and a well defined jaw. His physique gives away that he must be athletic, too.
Taehyung immediately starts to feel nervous – there's no trace on any emotion on Jungkook's face. "I'm Taehyung." Taehyung puts one of his palms on his chest, and tries to hide the gift he's brought along by tucking it behind himself. "You– you said you wanted to meet."
Taehyung's chest feels immediately lighter and all the tension dissipates away, when Jungkook's eyes go wide, and his lips stretch into a beautiful smile. Taehyung swears he hears the birds chirping and sees stars in the daylight.
"Taehyung-ssi." Jungkook says, and the voice is sweet and crystal clear. If Jungkook was perfect on paper, he's unmatched in real life. Taehyung bows. "Shall we sit down?" Jungkook nods, and gestures towards the concrete seats. "Thank you for coming here." Jungkook says.
Both of them take their seats, a few centimetres apart from each other. "Of course, we had to." Taehyung blushes. "I'm happy we can finally meet." The smile fades a little from Jungkook's face. "Taehyung-ssi. I rushed our meeting because there's something I wanted to tell you."
"Yes?" Taehyung asks, his heartbeat accelerating, because Jungkook's expression doesn't look very happy right now. "Is there a problem?" Jungkook sighs, and looks away. "I feel terrible about this, but you need to know. I don't know how to say it."
"It's okay." Taehyung says. "Tell me, I'm listening, and I'll try to understand." "Taehyung-ssi." Jungkook says, finally meeting his eye. "You know how we can't control the ways of the heart?" Taehyung smiles at that. "Of course." He says.
"I... have never been a staunch believer of the mate-matching system. I mean, I'm okay with it." Jungkook shrugs. "My family, however, whole other story. I believe in loving people naturally. When you see someone, your heart just knows. That kind of love." Taehyung listens.
"You'll know if you give us a chance." Taehyung says, his heart already breaking. "I... found you after a very long wait, Jungkook-ssi." At that, Jungkook's eyes turn sadder, and he shifts closer. "Taehyung-ssi. Please know that I have absolutely no intention of hurting you."
Taehyung doesn't say anything, and just looks down at his hands. "This is breaking my heart to even say." Jungkook looks away himself, unable to break it to Taehyung. It feels like Taehyung might start to cry, and Jungkook would feel awful if he does.
Jungkook crosses his arms, trying to phrase his sentences properly. He wants to be careful as he says the words. "Taehyung-ssi." Jungkook sighs, his heart hurts as he says the words. "I'm sorry, but I'm in love with someone. Please forgive me."
Taehyung bites on his bottom lip, trying to bear the pain the words inflict on his heart, but he can't bring himself to say anything. "My feelings aren't under my control." Jungkook sighs. "I'm sorry, and I will do anything I can to make it better for you."
Taehyung looks at him, confused. "Why would you... do that? It's not your fault. You didn't know." "But... we are mates, after all." Jungkook looks down at his hands too. "I do feel some kind of responsibility towards you. Please... tell me how I can help?"
Taehyung smiles wistfully, looking away, at the vast green lands. "I don't think there's anything to do Jungkook-ssi." "What's that?" Jungkook asks, looking at the bundled up cloth in Taehyung's hands. "Is that for me?"
Taehyung's attention shifts to it too, and it's a momentary distraction from his heavy heart. "I baked it, it's the best selling cupcake from my bakery." Jungkook takes it, undoes the knot and opens it up. "Wow." He says, and feels even worse about everything now.
Jungkook sighs, and looks up at the concrete shade above them. "Taehyung-ssi. I'll... If you want me to marry you, I'll break it off with my lover and marry you–" "No!" Taehyung immediately says. "No. That would be no use. Neither of us would be happy."
Jungkook leans back against the seat. "I don't know how else to make it better for you." "It's just..." Taehyung says. "If I stay single even after having a mate, it isn't going to look good."
"I know." Jungkook says. "But the offer is still valid. If you want, just let me know. A lot of people find love even after marriage. Maybe... we will too." It makes Taehyung smile, even though his heart is hurting. At least his mate is a sweetheart.
Then, a bizzare idea strikes Taehyung. It feels strange even to think of. He looks at Jungkook, and bites his lips. "Jungkook-ssi, there's one thing we could do, but... I'm not sure if it's the right thing to do."
Jungkook looks at him, eyes questioning. "We could pretend that we're married." Taehyung says. "You can still be with your lover, and I get to avoid being looked down upon. I know, it sounds horrible."
Jungkook looks at him, eyes wide. "That's... it's very risky, Taehyung-ssi." "I know, I know." Taehyung says. "But after marrying and mating, everyone lives in a place of their own. I think we could pull it off." Jungkook crosses his arms, contemplating. "I'm not sure."
"I mean, I don't see any other way that would give all of us what we want." Taehyung says. "It's okay, we just have to pretend. We just met. It's not like I'm in love with you. I can manage. I think." Jungkook leans closer. "Think about it carefully, please."
Taehyung nods. "I am. If you're okay with it, let's do it." Jungkook sighs, considering all the possibilities. "Are you okay with it?" "I am. Really." Taehyung looks at him, and smiles. "Okay then." Jungkook looks away. "How do we go about this?"

"I don't know." Taehyung says. "We need to plan a little." Jungkook nods. "And I have to let the person I love know about it. If he doesn't agree, then we can't do it." "Of course." Taehyung nods. "I'll try my best to find a solution for all three of us." Jungkook says.
Taehyung nods, and looks at the cupcake still intact in Jungkook's hand. "It's okay to eat that, you know. I got it for you." Jungkook smiles, looks down at it, and wraps it back up. "Okay then, I'll take it to go."
There's silence for a few seconds after that, apart from the sound of the rain, occasional thunder and the rustling of leaves around them. "Taehyung-ssi." Jungkook says, picking at the cloth. "I'm sorry about this whole thing. I hope it works out for all of us in the best way."
Taehyung smiles, but there's some sadness behind it. "I hope so too. But if it doesn't, please don't blame yourself for anything. We can be friends if you want, Jungkook-ssi. It might be useful if we want to carry out this plan." "Okay." Jungkook smiles. "Let's."
🀍🀍🀍
"Jaeil." Jungkook says, heart thumping in his chest as he approaches his lover. "I met Taehyung-ssi." Jaeil stops whatever he's doing, hands pausing, as he looks up at Jungkook and lets out a sigh as he stands up. "Did the two of you... decide on something?"
Jungkook nods. "Jaeil... You and me, we still get to be together." Jaeil lets out a sigh of relief, and puts his hand on his chest. "But, the solution is a little strange." Jaeil crosses his arms, and bites on his bottom lip. "I'm all ears, Jungkook. Tell me."
So Jungkook tells him the idea Taehyung proposed, and waits for Jaeil to absorb all the information. Jaeil looks deep in thought after Jungkook's done talking, arms crossed and brows drawn pensively. "But... you'll still be mine, right?" Jaeil looks up at Jungkook.
"Of course!" Jungkook immediately dashes forward, taking Jaeil's hands in his own. "Why do you think I went to talk to him? I almost gave up on us for a minute there, but Taehyung-ssi stopped me." Jaeil sighs. "It's okay. That was the worst case scenario for our love anyway."
"But that's not going to happen." Jungkook assures him. "If we can just pretend that me and Taehyung-ssi are in a happy marriage, things are going to be okay, I think." Jaeil nods. "Okay... okay. But promise me you..." He looks up. "Promise me you'll be loyal to me."
"Of course. When has my loyalty ever wavered, Jaeil?" Jungkook looks into his eyes, and takes his hands in his own. Jaeil nods. Then, he looks up at Jungkook. "Is he more beautiful than I am?"
Jungkook pauses for a moment there, the smile faltering for a second. "Why does that matter? You're the most beautiful person in my eyes, and–" "Why aren't you answering with a yes or no?" Jaeil narrows his eyes playfully. "He's pretty, isn't he?"
"Yes, he's very beautiful." Jungkook admits, chuckling. How is he supposed to lie? Taehyung is gorgeous. "But that's not my concern. You don't have to worry about that." Jaeil nods, before he gently cups Jungkook's cheek. "Alright then. I'll take your word for it."
Jungkook smiles back at him. "It's all going to be okay. We get to live in the new mansion, together." Jaeil nods. "I can't wait." "Me neither." Jungkook says. "Now, we just have to be careful with the execution of the plan." "Don't worry." Jaeil says. "Nobody will know."

Taehyung and Jungkook get married three weeks later, in the presence of parents and family members of both the grooms. It's a small ceremony, only with a few people. Jaeil is there too, as a friend of Jungkook – nobody knows the real nature of their relationship here.
When they say their vows and exchange their rings, the priest asks them to kiss. His first and only kiss with Jungkook – Taehyung thinks, as he steps forward, pressing his lips to Jungkook's. It's only a few seconds, but he wants to lock this memory away in his heart forever.
It seems like both sets of parents are extremely happy that their sons are marrying their mate. They take a very strong liking to their respective sons-in-law, and Taehyung thinks, that maybe at least he'll have all this extra love, if not the essence of a marriage.
Jaeil watches with narrow eyes as Jungkook's mother squishes Taehyung's cheeks and smiles as she talks to Taehyung. She's never been so warm to him, ever. In his heart, he starts to feel insecure already.
He watches as Taehyung's mother blesses Jungkook and pets his hair, clearly overjoyed at having him as her son-in-law. If only she knew, that Jungkook's heart belongs to someone else.
Both Taehyung and Jungkook's fathers seem to be getting along well with each other too. Watching all of it unfold in front of his eyes, Jaeil digs his fingers into his palms to preserve the neutral expression on his face.
The wedding is followed by a small reception party immediately. It's when Jaeil walks up to Jungkook, trying not to be suspicious. "Jungkook, I need to go." He says. "I've got some work." Jungkook frowns, but doesn't want to create a scene or look suspicious. "You okay?"
"I'm okay." Jaeil says, putting on a smile. "I'll be waiting for you back at the mansion, okay?" Jungkook tries to bite back a smile, and just nods. "Hopefully in a couple of hours." Jaeil nods, bows, and says goodbye. Jungkook watches him leave the party.
Taehyung walks up to him, eyes following Jaeil briefly. "Is that... him?" Jungkook turns around, surprised to see Taehyung. "Ah, yeah. That's... him." Taehyung nods. "Uhm, they want us... back there." "Oh." Jungkook snaps back to the present. "Sorry. Let's go."
There's a very beautiful, three-tiered cake set up on a table, in the center of the room. Jungkook and Taehyung stand in front of it, with all eyes on them. They cut into the cake, and everyone claps and cheers for them, wishing them a long and happy marriage.
Taehyung wishes that the foundation of his marriage was genuine enough for those wishes to work, but it is what it is. At least, nobody is going to look down upon him. Even if his husband doesn't love him, at least in society's eyes, Taehyung does have a husband, who's his mate.
Jungkook walks up to him when everyone else is busy with the party again. "Taehyung-ssi. Just a few more hours. Then we can head back to the mansion, and you can rest." Taehyung shakes his head. "It's fine, I like it here. It's the only wedding I'll have." He teases.
The corners of Jungkook's lips twitch upwards. "Taehyung-ssi. I hope you know how thankful I am to you." "Don't worry about it, Jungkook-ssi." Taehyung looks at him. "And...um, if it's okay with you, you can call me hyung."

The door opens, and he walks in. Hwan looks up, and stands up immediately. "What happened? Are you okay?" Jaeil rushes forward to him, and immediately throws his arms around Hwan. "I'm so stressed, Hwan." He says. "My plan seems like it's going to be ruined."
"No, are you crazy?" Hwan tells him, caressing his hair and sinking his nose into his skin. "Jungkook is crazy about you. Nothing is going to go wrong." "Everything was going fine." Jaeil hisses, pulling back. "But now, I'm not too sure."
"Jungkook was never going to apply to the testing center. He would never have a mate. My future was secure. The macnsion, his fortune, all mine. All ours, Hwan." Jaeil pinches his nose. "But his parents made him apply and he found a mate too! And guess what? They all love him!"
"Taehyung– that was his name, right?" Hwan asks, crossing his arms. Jaeil turns to look at him, frowning. He walks up to Hwan, and grabs his collar. "Don't talk about him unless it's to get him away from Jungkook." Jaeil says. "Not you, at least. You're my mate."
"Jaeil, look here." Hwan turns his face towards himself. "Jungkook is never going to leave you. Trust me. Have you seen yourself?" Jaeil scoffs. "You haven't seen Taehyung, Hwan. And you better not."
Hwan rolls his eyes. "You're my mate, Jaeil. The only person I've been with. I have no interest in any other omega, no matter how beautiful. I don't care." Jaeil rolls his eyes too. "I have to do something. And I need to get back to the mansion before the two of them do."
🀍🀍🀍
The carriage finally pulls up in front of the mansion, and Jungkook gets off first. He walks around the carriage, and helps Taehyung step out too. As Jungkook holds his hand to give him support, Taehyung finds himself wishing he didn't have to let go.
"This mansion, I designed it." Jungkook looks at it, a proud smile on his face. "I came up with the plan, the blueprint, the designs. Everything." Taehyung gasps, as Jungkook leads him towards it. "Really? Wow... you're good at your job, Jungkook-ssi."
"Wait till you see what it's like inside." Jungkook says, feeling excited. "Um, I hope you'll feel comfortable staying here. I've kept a room ready for you. The biggest room in the whole house." "I don't need a big room." Taehyung smiles. "I just need a space I can call my own."
"Well, you can tell me the things you'd like for your room. I'll get them for you." Jungkook says. "No, it's okay, Jungkook." Taehyung puts up a hand. Jungkook grabs it, and pushes it down. "Hyung, we're friends. It's okay. I can do that for you."
"You're stubborn." Taehyung teases him. "Okay. If you insist." It makes Jungkook break into a big smile. "Great! Um, hyung. Jaeil is probably waiting inside too. I know you know, but I just wanted to mention it again." Taehyung nods. "Of course. It's okay."
"And I promise, I'll try not to make you uncomfortable." Jungkook says, sincerity dripping from his words. "Jungkook, I think you worry too much." Taehyung frowns. "I'm okay, we're all going to be okay. It's just us here. The plan is going well. Don't feel bad."
Jungkook nods. They finally reach the main door of the house, and Jungkook unlocks the door before he pushes it open, and steps aside for Taehyung to enter. He carries his bags inside, and locks the door again. "Welcome... home." Jungkook presses his lips into a thin line.
Taehyung looks around, completely in awe. Everything is neat and clean, decorated perfectly, and smells so good. "Wow." Taehyung nervously chuckles. "I'm not used to such a big, luxurious house." "It's your home now." Jungkook smiles. "Get used to it." "Jungkook!" Jaeil calls.
Jaeil walks into the room and Jungkook and Taehyung immediately look towards him, but their reactions are completely different. Jungkook's eyes light up, but Taehyung – he feels a little uncomfortable in Jaeil's presence.
"Taehyung-ssi." There's a sickly sweet smile plastered to Jaeil's face. "We finally meet." Taehyung can't bring himself to smile, but he bows and responds to him. "Hello, Jaeil-ssi. Nice to meet you too."
"Thank you for coming up with this plan and..." He looks at Jungkook, walks closer to him and wraps his arm around Jungkook's bicep. "Letting my love be with me." He looks back at Taehyung, and smiles again. Taehyung wants to look away.
"I made sure everything is okay in your bedroom." Jaeil says. "If you need us, we'll be in our room together–" Jungkook shakes Jaeil's hand off his biceps, and looks at him. "Our room?"
Jaeil's expression falters for just a moment before he composes himself. "Jungkook, we finally get to live in the same house now, we–" "We've never even kissed, Jaeil." Jungkook whispers, so Taehyung doesn't listen. "Shouldn't we discuss this in person first?"
"I was never opposed to it." Jaeil says, trying not to sound bitter. "You were the one who wanted to wait–" "Please." Jungkook says, trying to keep it down. "Before saying it out loud, shouldn't you at least inform me that you want us to share a room?"
Taehyung feels awkward standing there, and this isn't a discussion he wants to hear. "Can I just– which one's my room?" Jungkook turns to him. "Ah, sorry hyung. We're just discussing something. Um, your room is the one up the stairs, to the left."
"Okay, I'll go–" Taehyung begins to say, but is cut off by the bell ringing. All three of them are alarmed, exchanging panicked glances. "I think Jaeil-ssi needs to hide." Taehyung blurts before he can stop himself. it looks like Jaeil glares at him, he's not sure.
Jungkook looks at Jaeil immediately with a worried look on his face. "Jaeil, are you going to be okay?" Jaeil puts up a fake smile, and crosses his arms. "I'm going to hide there for now. If it gets worse, I'll escape from the window, I guess."
Jungkook nods, cupping his cheek. "Don't worry, I'm going to take care of it." The bell rings again, and Taehyung looks away. "Um, the door." Jungkook nods, and rushes to get the door. When he opens it, both Jungkook and Taehyung are a little shocked.
"My handsome son!" Jungkook's mother cups his face and presses a kiss to his forehead. "Make way for eomma to step inside. Come on." Taehyung stares – this was not supposed to happen. But for some selfish reason, deep down, he isn't opposed to this happening.
"Our carriage broke down, Jungkook-ah." Jungkook's mother complains, and Taehyung watches her husband step inside behind him too. "You're going to have to let eomma and appa stay here for the night." Jungkook's eyes go wide, a panic-stricken smile on his face, as he nods.
"Taehyung-ah!" Jungkook's mother's face lights up, as she quickly scurries over to where Taehyung is, and cups his face too. "Did you eat yet?" Taehyung shakes his head. "No, eomo-nim, I'm... tired." She frowns, and turns to Jungkook. "Why haven't you given your husband food?"
Jungkook looks like he's at a loss for words, as he shakes his head. "Eomma, I–" She turns to Taehyung again. "Look at my son-in-law, he looks famished. Your eomma and appa are on their way here too. What will they think if they hear that your husband isn't taking care of you?"
"No, eomo-nim!" Taehyung is quick to protest. "That's not true at all. Jungkook is so nice to me–" Jungkook's mother smiles, and quirks her brows. "Already so defensive about your husband?" "No, I'm just..." Taehyung blushes. "Oh my God." She smiles. "Look at these two."
Jungkook looks at Taehyung, smiling sheepishly, before he turns to his mother. "Eomma, have you and appa eaten?" "I could...cook." Taehyung turns to look at Jungkook.
"Don't worry, we brought food." Jungkook's mother says. "Enough for six people! Let Taehyung's parents arrive, and then we can begin." And even amidst all the chaos, Jungkook's face lights up at the mention of food. "Oh, really? What did you get us?"
"You'll find out soon." Jungkook's mother says. "Jungkook-ah, your house has three bedrooms, right?" Jungkook nods, the gears turning in his head. "Um, yes eomma."
"So me and your appa will take one room. Taehyung's parents will take the other." She says, and then looks at Jungkook. Jungkook and Taehyung stand there, nervous. She smiles. "And you two lovebirds, you sleep in the biggest bedroom together!"
[ A/N : I have to stop here for tonight, but please let me know your thoughts! Thank you so much for reading, and for your response to this AU! ]
🀍🀍🀍
They're all seated at the dining table. Jungkook's parents sit on one end, and Taehyung's parents on the other. Jungkook and Taehyung sit opposite to each other, and the parents are all having a conversation among themselves, laughing every now and then.
Jungkook's mother keeps gushing over Taehyung, and Taehyung's mother does the same for Jungkook. Both of them get along really well, and it warms Taehyung's heart. He keeps looking at them as he eats, until someone else catches his attention.
Stuffing pieces of meat into his mouth, and chewing with his brows drawn together, Jungkook eats his food. It makes Taehyung curious, and he can't help but ask. "Is it too spicy? Do you not like it?"
The conversations stop immediately when Taehyung speaks to Jungkook. All four of the parents turn to them with expectant looks in their eyes, and smiles on their faces. "That's what he looks like when the food's good." Jungkook's mother tells Taehyung.
Jungkook nods along, as he swallows the food in his mouth before he speaks. "It's delicious, I know where you got this from. Thanks, eomma. I love it." Taehyung keeps watching him. It's so endearing for some reason, that the small smile never leaves Taehyung's lips.
The conversation goes on at the table, but Taehyung keeps fondly staring at Jungkook as he eats. Jungkook seems to especially enjoy the meat. So, without hesitation, Taehyung picks up a piece of meat from his own plate, and drops it on Jungkook's without any words.
He doesn't even look in Jungkook's direction, cheeks colored pink. "Hyung, it's–" Jungkook begins. But Taehyung, smiling, puts one more piece of meat on his plate. "Eat." He looks up at Jungkook. "You seem to like meat."
Jungkook bites back a smile, and picks the meat up to put it into his mouth. Chewing it, he can hardly contain his smile. When he swallows it, he speaks again. "Thank you, hyung." Jungkook tells Taehyung, and then points to the spicy rice. "Do you like this? You can take mine."
"No, I'm full!" Taehyung says. "Please continue eating." The parents chuckle, and catch their attention. "There's so much love and consideration between them already." Taehyung's mother says. "Isn't it?" Jungkook's mother smiles. "I'm sure it'll get even better with time."
🀍🀍🀍
It's a little awkward. Jungkook and Taehyung stand on either side of the huge bed, in their night clothes already, but unsure how to proceed. The couch isn't long enough to accomodate their sleeping forms, and the only option for them to sleep on is the bed. They have to share.
"Jaeil will understand." Jungkook nods, speaking mostly to himself. "It's not like I did this deliberately." "We can just put pillows between us." Taehyung suggests. "That should be fine, right?" Jungkook lets out a sigh. "I'm sorry you have to share the bed with me, hyung."
Taehyung, if he's being honest, wouldn't mind sharing the bed with Jungkook one bit. Jungkook is his mate, his husband. There's no reason for Taehyung to not want to. But he only nods. "It's okay." Taehyung says. "I promise. Let's... Let's sleep. It's late, and we're tired."
Jungkook nods, and sits on the edge of the bed. "You go ahead first." Taehyung presses his knee into the mattress, and climbs in.Glancing at Jungkook's back every few seconds, he arranges the pillows in the center of the bed, before he lies down.
Jungkook only partially turns his head to look over his shoulder. "You're comfortable with this, right? I can try sleeping on the couch, it's not a problem." "It is a problem." Taehyung says. "You're as tall as me, you wouldn't fit. I'm okay with this. Don't worry."
Jungkook nods, and then he's lying down too, right next to Taehyung. If only the pillows between them didn't exist, it would have been so great. But it's okay. Taehyung knew what he was signing up for – he didn't expect even this. "Are you okay?" He asks Jungkook.
Jungkook's eyes are fixed on the ceiling, palms on his chest. He only nods. "I'm okay." Then, biting on his lips, Taehyung asks him a question. "I don't know if it's my place to ask... but why have you never even kissed Jaeil?"
Jungkook sighs. "I don't know. I thought I would do it once I could convince my parents to let me be with him. Once I could tell everyone about us and get married. I just... wanted to wait. But it's complicated now, and I haven't figured out what to do about that yet." "Oh."
"I was taken aback when he said we'd share a room because he hadn't mentioned it to me before at all." Jungkook smiles. "But anyway. I hope everything works out for all three of us." Taehyung sighs. "Where did you meet Jaeil?"
"At my office." Jungkook says. "He came there with a guy who I was working with for a project. I think his name was Hwan." Taehyung nods. "I see. And... was it love at first sight?" Jungkook smiles. "For him, maybe. He came by again a few days later. Alone. To see me."
Taehyung watches the expression on Jungkook's face carefully. How he wishes that smile was for him. Taehyung turns around and faces the other side, trying to ignore the dull, throbbing ache in his chest. "I'm turning off the lights, okay?"
"Okay." Jungkook says, and Taehyung thinks that this is the end of the conversation, but Jungkook speaks up again. "Enough about me. Let's talk about you, hyung." This time, Taehyung smiles too. "About me? What do you want to know?"
Jungkook slightly turns his head to face Taehyung. "I mean, I already know all the basic things about you, but... anything? You hardly talk about yourself, and I think sometimes you should be able to. I'll listen." Taehyung feels warmth bloom in his chest. "I like painting."
"Really? Me too." Jungkook smiles. "I have a lot of my art supplies here too. Please feel free to use them whenever you want." Taehyung's heart beats a little faster after that, as he voices his question. "Okay... would you like to paint together sometime? If you want to."
There's a pause then, which makes Taehyung's heartbeat skyrocket and makes him overthink. Perhaps he asked for too much, perhaps he crossed a line. But Jungkook immediately comforts him when he answers. "I would love to. I don't have any friend who likes to paint, too"
Taehyung knows he shouldn't, but he's feeling giddy about it. "I can be your painter friend, then." Jungkook chuckles softly at that, his voice even more soothing than the pitter patter of raindrops against the roof. "Okay. I would like that."
"We should probably sleep." Taehyung says. "Are you sleepy?" Jungkook asks. Taehyung hums. "My eyes hurt, I can barely keep them open." "Okay." Jungkook says. "Good night then. I hope you sleep well."
🀍🀍🀍
Taehyung does sleep well. The bed feels soft when he realises he's waking up, the blanket is warm against his skin, and it's cloudy outside which just makes him want to stay in bed. His eyes are still shut, but he can hear the soft sounds of thunder and there's not much light.
The pillow pressed up against his chest is the warmest of all, but it also feels a little unusual in texture. He also doesn't remember burying his face in it, but this is nice. It feels nice. Taehyung's eyes snap open suddenly, and the drowsiness wears off all at once.
There's no way the pillows were scented. Taehyung opens his eyes to find his face buried into Jungkook's neck, his arms thrown around him, and freezes when he realises that Jungkook's face is buried in his neck too, the alpha still fast asleep.
Taehyung panics, eyes widening because he has no idea how they ended up like this. The pillows that were between them are now thrown towards the end of the bed, and their bodies are entangled like it's the most natural thing ever.
He can't even move – it might wake Jungkook up. He's always heard how mates tend to gravitate towards each other physically and emotionally. All they did was gradually shift towards each other in their sleep, but it would still be awkward if Jungkook woke up now.
Jungkook stirs, and panicking, Taehyung forgets to even shut his eyes and pretend to be asleep. A few seconds later, Jungkook pulls back, surprised at the position they're in, and moves away, embarrassed. He probably doesn't even know what to say.
"It's normal for people to make movements in their sleep." Taehyung tries to assure him. "It's okay. Besides, we're... mates. That's why we got so close. Sorry. I'll sleep on the couch next time." "No, no. I'll sleep on the couch, it's okay." Jungkook says, embarrassed. "Sorry."
"It's okay. It was just accidental." Taehyung says. "We'll be careful next time." Jungkook nods. "Yeah, I'm– I should probably go and see if our parents are awake." "Okay." Taehyung watches him, wishing he could reach out and touch his face a little. "Okay." Jungkook sits up.
Taehyung watches as he leaves the room, and sighs. They're supposed to be together. They're fated to be together. And yet, Taehyung can't be with him. He bites hard on his lip to contain his emotions. Crying first thing in the morning isn't what he wants to do.
They accidentally drifted towards each other in their sleep. They got close enough to cuddle each other because of the bond. They're meant to be. And yet, all Taehyung can do is watch as Jungkook tries to make it work with someone else.

When Taehyung finally comes downstairs, he is met with the sight of his and Jungkook's parents getting ready to leave. It makes him sad. While they were here, Taehyung got a little taste of what it should be like to be Jungkook's husband.
He sighs, as he hugs them all one by one. "Taehyung-ah." His mother says. "Be a good husband to him." "Of course he will!" Jungkook's mother says, and looks at Jungkook. "You too. Take care of your husband, okay?" Jungkook nods once. "Yes, eomma."
Jungkook's mother looks at Taehyung again, smiles, and pulls him into a hug. "Thank you for coming here, eomo-nim." Taehyung says. She pats Taehyung's back, and whispers in his ears. "Taehyung-ah." She says. "Don't worry. You're not alone. I'll make sure you're happy."
Taehyung is left confused, brows slightly drawn together as he pulls back, but she only smiles. "Jungkook-ah." She says. "I have a request to make. Please do not say no."
Jungkook looks at Taehyung, and then back at his mother. "Yes, eomma?" "I want Taehyung to spend some time with us too." She smiles. "So later tonight, please come back home and stay with us for a day or two. You can both use your old bedroom."
The color drains off Jungkook's face for a bit, but Taehyung – his heart doesn't oppose it for some reason, no matter how much he wants it to. Jungkook knows he can't refuse, so he looks at Taehyung and nods. Taehyung nods back at him. Then, Jungkook turns to his mother. "Okay."
But just as Jungkook agrees, she drops another bomb on them. "And, I know you said you'd take care of it yourself." She puts her hands together and smiles. "But I arranged a vacation for you both, as your honeymoon, two days from now. Please don't say no. It's a gift from us."

If Jungkook's mansion was huge, his family house is magnificent. The moment Taehyung walks in, there's this whole aura of wealth and royalty inside the house. It's a pleasant feeling to know that Jungkook and his parents are all so humble and grounded, still.
"I really like your house." Taehyung smiles at Jungkook's mother. "It's absolutely beautiful." "Oh, thank you! You should go see Jungkook's room!" She answers, glancing at Jungkook once, teasingly. "It's your bedroom too now, anyway!"
Taehyung's cheeks blush pink, and instead of responding, he just changes the topic. "Jungkook told me he planned the new house. He's quite talented." She smiles. "He's always been interested in architecture. Your husband is actually one of the best in town, already!"
"Oh, he is?" Taehyung finally looks at Jungkook, and sends a fond smile his way. Jungkook meets his eye, smiling naturally. "Don't you believe it, hyung?" "Oh no, I totally believe it." "Oh no!" Jungkook's mother says. "I almost forgot."
Jungkook and Taehyung both turn to look at him. "Forgot what, eomma?" Jungkook asks, munching on some cut up fruits. "I actually had some work that needed to be taken care of. But I totally forgot!" She says. "Jungkook, can you make a quick run for me?" "Oh." He nods. "Okay."
"I'll tell you the address. It's right next to the market." She says. "I'll write it down for you." "What's the errand, eomma?" Jungkook asks. She smiles, as she scribbles down the address on paper. "When you reach there, you'll know yourself."
Jungkook is confused, but nods regardless. "Okay." She hands over the piece of paper to him, and Jungkook takes it from her, immediately going on his way. Taehyung watches him leave, clueless, when Jungkook's mother comes up behind him. "Taehyung." She says. "Go after him."
🀍🀍🀍
Jungkook looks around, trying to locate the exact house. What work could there possibly be inside a random house? He checks the number again, and finally figures out which one it is. Sighing, he starts walking towards it.
The surroundings are very strange – there aren't a lot of trees, just vast stretches of land with houses built here and there. When he reaches the one his mom sent him to, he knocks on the door, unsure what he's even supposed to do. He hears the shuffling of feet then.
The door opens, and Jungkook's eyes are on the sheet of paper, a question ready on his lips. But as soon as he looks up from the paper, his eyes widen and every thought he had leaves his mind, and he completely blanks out.
Hair messed up, lips swollen and reeking of another alpha, there's Jaeil at the door, staring at him with wide eyes that mirror his own. The color drains away from his face. "Who is it, baby?" Hwan walks up to him, voice sleepy and eyes half-shut. "Come back to bed with me."
Jaeil gulps, incapable of coming up with anything that would explain this. What is Jungkook even doing here? Isn't he supposed to be at home? "Jaeil..." Jungkook finally manages to whisper, making Hwan still and open his eyes properly to look at him. "You..."
"Jungkook–" Jaeil says, panicking. "Listen, I can explain–" And Jungkook might be kind, he might be sweet, but he's not stupid. "No. I don't need an explanation. I just..." He steps back, feeling like someone plunged a knife into his stomach. "Why?"
"Jungkook..." Jaeil steps out of the door. "Stay back!" Jungkook yells, eyes turning red as he glares at him. "Don't come closer. Did you– were you with me because of my money? Jaeil... I thought you were different."
Jaeil doesn't feel bad for Jungkook, but he's definitely panicking because everything he thought he had in the palm of his hand is slipping away in front of his eyes, and he can't stop it. There's no explanation, so he just stands there quietly, arms crossed.
"And Hwan?" Jungkook's chest heaves up and down. "I helped you out so much when you needed me. You fucking backstabber." Hwan doesn't have anything to say to that, so he just looks down too.
"Fuck." Jungkook runs a hand through his hair, his head feeling like it's going to explode. "Fuck, for you, I gave up my mate and deprived him of myself. All for your love." And he wonders how his mother knew to send him here at this exact moment. How long has she known?
"If you think he's a better match for you, why don't you go back to him?" Jaeil says, brows drawn together. "Let's see if he can love you for who you are, and doesn't care about your wealth at all." Jungkook takes another step back. "From now on, you don't get to speak on him."
Jaeil snorts. "You're already so defensive about him, huh? Well, Hwan here is my mate, and I am happy with him. I'll be fine. But will you be fine? Without me?" Jungkook glares at him. "Are you even the person I fell for? Just..." He steps back and turns around. "I'm leaving."
Jaeil, angry because everything is done for now, slams the door. But Jungkook can't even hear it. All he can hear is the throbbing inside his head. All he can feel is how fast his heart is beating where it's dropped down to his gut, and how sweaty he's getting.
As he walks back towards the direction he came from, the tears finally fall, and Jungkook starts to sob. He pinches the bridge of his nose, sniffling and trying not to cry too much. Unexpectedly, he feels a solid chest collide against his own.
When Jungkook looks up, he's met with Taehyung's beautiful kind eyes, like they know what's happening, like he's here just to make sure Jungkook is okay. "Do you... need a hug?" Taehyung asks, and slowly opens up his arms. "Please feel free to–"
Before he can finish his sentence, Jungkook wraps his arms around Taehyung's waist, burying his face into his shoulder as he starts to cry. "Jaeil cheated on me, hyung." Taehyung wraps his arms around Jungkook, taking in his scent, and has the immense urge to comfort Jungkook.
"I know." Taehyung says, brows drawing together. "Eomma told me. I'm yet to ask her how she knew. But she asked me to come here, and when she told me why, I came running." Jungkook goes quiet for a bit. "I don't deserve all of that."
"That's nonsense." Taehyung says, pulling Jungkook closer. "Don't think that way, please." Jaeil opens up the door again to say something, but stops when he spots Taehyung. Taehyung's brows draw together as soon as he spots him.
"Taking the chance already, I see." Jaeil says, voice loud so Taehyung can hear it even from a distance. Jungkook sighs against him. "That's what you wanted, right?" "You speak one more word." Taehyung says, arms tightening around Jungkook. "And I'm going to break your face."
Jaeil's smile disappears at that, and glaring at Taehyung, he slams his door shut again. Taehyung pulls back, grabs Jungkook's shoulder, and wipes his tears with his hands. "Jungkook... let's go home. Come on."
🀍🀍🀍
Jungkook hasn't spoken to anyone since they got back home, and is currently lying in his bedroom where Taehyung led him. Taehyung walks up to his mother in law, who's reading a book in the center of the living room.
"Eomo-nim?" Taehyung asks, as he sits down beside her. "Can I ask now, how you... knew all of it? If you knew beforehand, why did you let Jungkook go through with all of this?" She sighs, putting the book down on the table. "I didn't know beforehand, Taehyung."
"If I knew." She says, and then looks at him. "I would have given him a piece of my mind. And you too! Why would you do that to yourself?!" "I had my reasons." Taehyung looks down. "But... when did you find out?"
"You know, Taehyung." She smiles at him. "On your wedding day, everyone looked happy. Except one person. That Jaeil, I've never liked him. He looked like he couldn't stand the fact that you were getting married to Jungkook." Taehyung listens, intrigued.
"Jungkook never told me, but I'm his mother." She smiles. "I suspected something was going on between the two of them. But I never really liked Jaeil. Something was off about him. So when I saw him talking to Jungkook and storming off that night, I got even more suspicious."
"I sent one of the men who work for us behind him, and asked him to report to me whatever he saw." She says, and then pauses, eyes welling up. "I found out his real motive, and how my son had no idea. Thinking of Jungkook broke my heart. He has the purest sould, you know?"
"When he said he'd marry his mate, we were so happy and I thought that Jaeil was out of the picture." She says. "But that night I realised that maybe it's all an arrangement between the three of you." Taehyung lets out a deep breath. "That's... that's a lot to take in."
"I wanted Jungkook to see it with his own eyes. I knew he must be with his mate. So I sent him there." She sighs. "I was right." Taehyung leans back against the sofa, fingers intertwined. "Jungkook is so upset right now."
She brings up her hand to caress Taehyung's head. "You're his mate. You're both bonded together by an invisible force that connects your hearts and minds." She smiles. "Go, sit beside him, talk to him. He's going to feel better with you by his side."
"But he's vulnerable right now." Taehyung says. "I don't want him to feel like I'm taking advantage of his emotional vulnerability." "You won't be." She says, her kind eyes and smile reminiscent of Jungkook's. "You'll be helping him through it. I mean if you want to, of course."
"I want to." Taehyung nods, and looks up at her. "I want to, eomo-nim." She cups his cheek, and smiles at him. "Please just call me eomma." Taehyung smiles. "Okay, eomma." He says. "And... um. I don't know if you know, but... I really like Jungkook. A lot."
🀍🀍🀍
Jungkook doesn't talk much for the rest of the day, and his parents and Taehyung just let him be. Taehyung brings him food every few hours to his room, and that's when they make some small talk. Jungkook can't help but notice just how willing Taehyung is to make him feel better.
He hasn't once brought up the topic of them being mates now that Jaeil is out of the way either. All he's done all day is take care of Jungkook, selflessly, even when he probably knows Jungkook doesn't have any love to give him.
But Jungkook can at least be a good friend, he can at least return what's being given to him. Jungkook can try to make Taehyung smile, at least. He's his mate, his husband after all, no matter what terms the marriage was based on.
Taehyung is seated on the sofa, talking to his mother in law, apologising about the wasted vacation she had planned. "I mean, we can't go on a vacation when he's so sad." Taehyung says. "Maybe he can stay here for a few more days. Or I'll just take him home."
Jungkook's mother smiles, and a sigh escapes his chest. "I'm so glad my son married you, you know." She says. "I've been noticing the way you take care of him. I've seen the way you look at him. And Taehyung, I hope someday he looks at you the same way."
"Eomma..." Taehyung smiles at her. "I walked into this marriage knowing exactly what I was signing up for. At least it's much better now, with Jaeil out of the picture. I am content with this, really. Jungkook is so nice to me already." She smiles too.
"But remember that you're both mates." She says. "Your emotions are closely connected to each other, especially now that you live together. Mates usually end up falling madly in love with each other." Taehyung blushes at that. "I don't know, eomma..."
"I mean, you're already halfway there." She teases. "Eomma!" Taehyung whines. "He's so good looking and also has the warmest personality." Footsteps approach them, followed by the sound of something a little heavy being placed on the ground. "Who?" Jungkook asks.
Taehyung's eyes widen, and his face turns red. He turns around to look at Jungkook, and is quick to dismiss it. "Nobody! Nothing. Just, we were talking about nothing." Jungkook's mother giggles beside him. "About some alpha who he thinks is handsome, and has a warm personality."
Jungkook's brows quirk up, and he's a little confused as he asks Taehyung. "Oh. You have other alpha friends, hyung?" "No, it's nothing." Taehyung chuckles. "What.... Why do you have... suitcases?"
Jungkook presses his lips together, dimples appearing, before he answers. "I figured you shouldn't have to miss out on a vacation just because your husband is moping." Jungkook says. "So... come with me, let's go on that honeymoon. I promise, I'll be fun to be around."
🀍🀍🀍
"How long is it going to take?" Taehyung asks Jungkook as they're inside the carriage, and he seems visibly excited about the trip. Somehow, it makes Jungkook smile too. "Around an hour. I think you're going to like the place."
"Really?" Taehyung smiles, but then it falters. "Uhh Jungkook... Are you sure you're going to be okay?" Jungkook presses his lips into a thin line. "Don't worry. I'm okay. Better than I thought." Taehyung nods. And Jungkook isn't even lying.
If he's being honest, he had been ignoring it all along for Jaeil's sake. But the moment he met Taehyung, he had felt some sort of a pull. Talking to him has always felt so natural. Jungkook couldn't even express how beautiful he thought Taehyung is – all because of Jaeil.
His mind was always focused on Jaeil, and hence he ignored the connection he felt. But even when he tried to, he could still feel it, which only goes to show how strong it must be. Now, with Jaeil gone, Jungkook allows himself to feel it, and it is kind of... unbelievable.
Jungkook had never placed much importance on the concept of mates, but now that he has one and especially since he's getting to spend time with him, Jungkook can feel it. Everything with Taehyung feels natural. It feels just right. It didn't even take any effort to get along.
So when Taehyung asks him if he's okay, Jungkook realises that he really is. It's surprising, and maybe a little strange that after initially spending a whole day moping, he hasn't thought much about Jaeil. Instead, he's been wondering what activities he should do with Taehyung.
"And you?" Jungkook asks. "How are you feeling?" "Me?" Taehyung turns to look at him again, and smiles. "I'm going on a trip to some beautiful place and I have a nice companion with me, how do you think I'm feeling?"
🀍🀍🀍
"Wow!" Taehyung exclaims, with the biggest smile on his face. "What is this place?! It's so cute!" They're standing in front of one of the many cottages the Jeons own, and this one's located in a very scenic part of the state. "I said you'd like it." Jungkook smiles.
"Eomma made all these arrangements for us?" Taehyung puts his hand on his chest. "She's so kind." "Well, she is very fond of you." Jungkook adds, as he unlocks the door. "I'm sure she took care of the interiors too. Stocked up on food, got the place cleaned and all."
When they step inside, Taehyung is eager to explore, but waits until Jungkook has locked the door. Jungkook's heart beats like crazy in his chest, looking at the back of Taehyung's head, the words at the tip of his tongue. "Uh, hyung...?"
"Yeah?" Taehyung turns around to look at him, the smile intact. "Uhm..." Jungkook bites on his lower lip, as he steps towards Taehyung. "I– I want to talk to you about something."
The smile slowly fades away from Taehyung's face, and he frowns instead. "About what? Why do you sound so serious? Is... everything okay?" "Yeah, everything's okay." Jungkook puts down his bag, steps closer and takes Taehyung's bag from his hand too, setting it aside. "I just–"
Jungkook is faced with Taehyung now, and they stand eye to eye, the same height as each other. "I know I said we're friends, and we are." Jungkook says. "But also. This is our honeymoon, and we're married, and... maybe you have expectations."
Taehyung's face drains of color, because he's worried about what Jungkook means. But Jungkook takes all his worries away with his next sentence. "And now, I don't have a lover anymore. But you... you are my husband. So... if you want me to treat you like that, please tell me."
Taehyung almost gasps, and keeps staring into his eyes. "I'm a little hesitant because I don't want you to think that I'm only saying this because I just broke it off with someone." Jungkook assures him. "I promise you. I mean it. I'm willing to try. Only if you want."
"Jungkook..." Taehyung steps closer. "And I didn't want to take advantage of your emotional vulnerability. So I just... I didn't bring our marriage up. At all." "But our marriage is very real." Jungkook presses his lips together. "I'm sorry about the terms we got married on."
Taehyung nods. "Let's never talk about that again. It's all in the past." Jungkook looks up at him, the corner of his lips twitching. "Is this you agreeing to the idea of me treating you as my husband?"
Taehyung instantly blushes, and looks down at his hands. "If... If you're not opposed to it." "Uhm, I'm the one who just proposed the idea." Jungkook narrows his eyes. Taehyung's heart is beating so fast right now. "R-right." He smiles. "Okay then, yeah. I would l-like that."
Jungkook smiles at him, heart feeling strangely content. It's nice. His chest feels warm inside, and the air is filled with Taehyung's sweet scent. This feels nice. "Okay." Jungkook says. "But even within the marriage, I'd love to keep our friendship intact."
Taehyung nods. "Of course, me too." "Shall we go into the bedroom?" Jungkook asks, picking the bags up. "You must be tired from the journey. Get washed up, and then we'll cook something up to eat, or just go out."
"Yeah!" Taehyung smiles, but suddenly feels all tingly inside at the idea of sharing a bedroom with Jungkook again. They walk to the room, and Jungkook pushes the door open, right before he stills in place.
Taehyung looks at him. "Is... everything okay?" But Jungkook, after remaining silent for a while, starts to chuckle. "I can't believe eomma." "What?!" Jungkook turns to Taehyung, still laughing, pinching the bridge of his nose gently.
"What is it?!" Taehyung asks. "You know hyung, I've been here a hundred times before, and I know every part of this house by heart..." Jungkook finally makes eye contact, and he's blushing a little. "That bed... is half the size of the bed that's originally supposed to be here."
Taehyung looks at it, frowning. "But, that's okay. I don't mind small beds at all. I'm very accommodating and I can adjust–" He stops talking abruptly when it hits him. "Oh..."
Jungkook looks a little embarrassed. "I'm sorry on eomma's behalf. She is extremely enthusiastic about our marriage." "It's okay." Taehyung sheepishly smiles. Inside his mind, he's thanking his mother in law for doing this.
"Or I'll just sleep on the–" Jungkook looks around, and then sighs. "Uhm, I'm pretty sure there used to be a sofa around here." "Ah!" Taehyung says, trying hard to hide his smile. "I see that a lot of changes have been made."
"We might have to share the bed again." Jungkook looks at him, almost apologetic. "It's okay, I wouldn't let you sleep on the sofa anyway. It would be uncomfortable for you." Taehyung says. "But still..." "Didn't you just say you're going to treat me like your husband?"
Jungkook gulps, eyes big and round, and his cheeks turning pink. "Yeah. I did." "So... Jeon Jungkook." Taehyung says, looking into his eyes, and trying not to tremble. "If you're comfortable with it, then please get used to sleeping in the same bed as your husband."
Jungkook immediately nods, once, wordlessly. He keeps looking into Taehyung's eyes, before he speaks. "I'm comfortable with it. Are you?" Taehyung nods, shying away from Jungkook's gaze. "I am comfortable with it too. I don't mind it."
Jungkook nods, crossing his arms. "Okay." Taehyung clasps his hands behind his back, and nods along. "Okay." "Okay, then." Jungkook repeats, clearing his throat. "We'd fit." Taehyung says. "Into the bed." "Yeah just–" Jungkook looks at it. "There's not a lot of space." "Hm."
"But we'll manage." Jungkook adds quickly. "Yeah, we will." Taehyung awkwardly laughs, feeling extremely shy. "Uhh. We should get some rest." Jungkook says. Taehyung's eyes widen. "On the bed? N-now?"
Jungkook's eyes widen. "I meant getting some rest in general. Relaxing a little." Taehyung feels embarrassed. "Oh. Right. Yes. I should shower." Jungkook gulps, and clears his throat. "We can cook something quickly, and then go to bed, though."
🀍🀍🀍
It's raining outside again, so they cook some hot chicken soup, some meat curry and some rice for dinner. They work well together, efficient enough to get everything done quickly. Jungkook doesn't know how, but he hasn't been thinking about Jaeil at all.
He's been focused on the food, on perfectly cutting the vegetables into little cubes, and on making sure that the curry is the perfect consistency. He's also been trying to figure out how Taehyung has such a perfect side profile, but he puts those thoughts aside for now."
There's a round wooden dining table right next to the kitchen, and they plate all the food nicely on top of it. They sit down and thank God for their meal before they begin to eat. Taehyung, in his mind and heart, thanks God for being able to experience this vacation, too.
The dinner goes smoothly, with conversation flowing easily. Nothing is awkward at all, and Jungkook feels like they've been friends for ages. Until they walk back into the bedroom after dinner, and it's time to finally go to bed.
Both of them awkwardly stand by the foot of the bed, making little to no movement. "You want to get in first?" Jungkook asks. "No, you can, if you want." "No, I insist." "But how does it matter?" Jungkook bites his lip, and sits down on the edge of the bed. "Okay."
Taehyung gulps, before he's sitting down on the other edge. It's not their first time sharing a bed, but this bed is much smaller than the one at their place, and they just agreed a few hours to give their marriage a chance. Taehyung is nervous.
He feels the mattress dip behind himself as Jungkook lies down. Jungkook props up his pillow and folds his arm behind his head, staring at Taehyung's back. "Lie down." He says. "There's some space."
Taehyung nods, as he moves towards the pillows and lies down next to Jungkook. As soon as he does, his arms touch Jungkook's sides, and he realises how small the bed really is.
"Uh... should I move a little to the side?" Jungkook asks. Taehyung looks over, and then back at Jungkook. "You mean, onto the floor?"
Jungkook chuckles at that. "I'm just trying to make sure you're comfortable." "I'm comfortable." Taehyung gulps, eyes up on the ceiling. "Are you?" "I am." Jungkook says. "Just that, I think we can adjust better on the bed." Taehyung finally looks at him.
He then looks at his arm that's pressed up against Jungkook's side. "Our bodies are touching. Are you comfortable with that?" "I think that's kind of the reason this bed was placed in this room." Jungkook says, trying to bite back a smile.
"Is there a point being awkward about this?" Taehyung asks. "We're not awkward with each other." Jungkook says. "We weren't." Taehyung teases. "Until now." Jungkook slides down, so their faces are closer. "So, what do you suggest we do?"
Taehyung feels his heartbeat speeding up, and suddenly feels more aware of Jungkook's scent next to him. He feels nervous when he says the words. "The best way to save space would be to sleep on our sides."
"Okay." Jungkook says. "We can face each other, or away from each other. But that might still take up space and we won't be able to move around a lot." "Okay. Then, what else?" "Only do this if you're comfortable." Taehyung says again, limbs going cold.
Taehyung bites on his lips, and turns to his side, facing away from Jungkook. "How comfortable are you with our bodies touching?" Jungkook gets shy immediately. "I think... I can manage. Why?"
Taehyung's breathing is heavier, and he feels giddy and nervous all at once as he turns his body around a little, and looks at Jungkook. "Come closer." Taehyung says. "Give me your hand. And pull the blanket over us."
Jungkook pulls the blanket up to cover both their lower bodies, and though he feels a little shy, he finds that he isn't opposed to what Taehyung just asked him to do. He shifts closer, and slides his palm into Taehyung's hand. "There you go."
Taehyung's heart is pounding in his chest, when he closes his fingers around Jungkook's hand and pulls it over his own waist. "Can I get a little closer to you?" Taehyung asks, feeling nervous.
Jungkook doesn't answer him. Instead, he moves closer himself, and Taehyung feels his body slot against Jungkook's, just like two pieces of a puzzle. Jungkook then slides his arm around Taehyung's waist, and whispers very close to his ears. "You mean sleeping like this?"
Taehyung squeezes his eyes shut, letting goosebumps erupt all over his skins as he feels Jungkook's arm around his waist. Jungkook shifts closer, and Taehyung swears he could stay this way forever, just drowning in his warmth and scent. "Y-yeah. Exactly like this."
"Okay." Jungkook's voice is gentle, just like his touch. "This is comfortable, right?" "For me, yes." Taehyung says, and then partly turns his head around. "And for you?" Jungkook hums. "I'm okay too."
"Okay." Taehyung says, heart pounding. "Good night then, Jungkook." Jungkook tries not to lean closer just to get a better whiff of Taehyung's scent. "Mhm hmm. Good night." Somehow, Taehyung still understands. He shifts a little, tilting his head so his neck is more exposed.
Jungkook notices the action, but still isn't sure if it was meant for him. Taehyung turns to look over his shoulder and makes eye contact, before he nods once, pointing with his eyes to his neck. "For me?" Jungkook asks. Taehyung nods.
Jungkook bites on his lip, feeling shy as he leans in and rests his face in the crook of Taehyung's neck. He shuts his eyes and takes in his scent. And he thinks Taehyung should know what he thinks. "You smell good, hyung." A soft smile takes over Taehyung's face. "Sleep."
🀍🀍🀍
Jaeil's laugh echoes throughout the huge room. What place is this, even? "You think he's going to love you?" Jaeil laughs, and throws his head back. "You just trust anyone who shows you affection, don't you, Jungkook?"
Jungkook wants to say something, but he can't. The words just won't come out. "You're never going to find love." Jaeil keeps laughing at him, and Jungkook can't even do anything. Finally, his voice comes out. "S-stop." Jungkook says. "That's not true."
"I don't want anything to do with you!" Jungkook keeps talking, moving forward. "Leave me alone! Go away!" "Jungkook?!" Taehyung's voice is filled with panic, merely a muffled sound beside him. Before it becomes clearer, deeper. Jungkook opens his eyes, sweating everywhere.
He's sitting upright on the bed, one hand on the bed around Taehyung's back, the other on his own lap. His shirt is wet from all the sweat. He had a bad dream. At least, it was only a dream. Jungkook sighs, burying his face in his hand, chest heaving up and down.
"What happened?" Taehyung softly asks, fingers curled around Jungkook's arm. "Did you have a bad dream?" Jungkook looks up and turns his face to look at Taehyung. Silently, he looks at Taehyung, and tries to calm down. It works – somehow, Taehyung's presence makes him relax.
Taehyung keeps looking at him, concerned, before he finally shifts closer, and holds his arms out. "Jungkook..." He says. "Do you want a hug?" Jungkook looks at his arms, and then back at his eyes. And then, he leans in, and very slowly wraps his arms around Taehyung.
Taehyung rubs his back gently, until he feels Jungkook's breathing calm down against his chest. "It's okay." Taehyung whispers. "I'm here. I'm right here, with you. It's okay, relax." Jungkook only nods. Taehyung leans backwards onto the pillow, taking Jungkook with him.
Jungkook's face ends up on his chest, and for a second Taehyung just closes his eyes and lets it sink in. "Are you comfortable?" Jungkook shifts and adjusts a little, but doesn't move his head. "I am." He says, voice low. "We're saving a lot of space this way."
🀍🀍🀍
"Jungkook!" Taehyung excitedly peeks out of the window. "Look, the sun is out! We can go out today!" Jungkook returns his smile, endeared by how happy Taehyung looks. "You want to go out, hyung? Sure then. Let's go. What do you want to do?"
Taehyung looks at him, and his eyes turn thoughtful. He shrugs. "I don't have anything specific in mind but I thought... Outside would be nice. With um, you. You and me." Jungkook blushes, and suddenly the empty plate in his hand is very interesting. "Uh yeah, of course."
"Do you want to go on a walk?" Taehyung asks, leaning against the window. "We could just chat and look around. This place is so beautiful." Jungkook looks up then, and blurts out the compliment he's been holding in. "Okay, and, I think you're beautiful too."
Taehyung drops the spoon that he had been holding in his hand. Panicking and embarrassed, he bends down to pick it up. Avoiding eye contact, he says. "Wow, thank you." "I would love to go on a walk." Jungkook says, and then looks up. "With you."
🀍🌼🌿🌼🀍
"There's so much greenery!" Taehyung exclaims, walking slightly ahead of Jungkook in excitement. "Oh look, there's mountains all around us! This sight... it's so beautiful." Jungkook's stares at Taehyung's back as he walks ahead. "Yeah. It's beautiful indeed."
"There are some houses here and there." Taehyung inspects the place, hands on his hips. "Why isn't anyone else outside? The weather is amazing!" Jungkook chuckles – he hadn't known until now that Taehyung could be so chirpy.
"Oh, look. There's people." Taehyung suddenly stops in his tracks. "There's... a lot of people. Where are they going?" Jungkook turns to look, and finds groups of people, all around the same age as him and Taehyung, walking in the same direction. "Let's go find out."
They walk down the terrain for around two minutes before they're finally able to approach the groups of people. From up close, Jungkook notices one thing. "Jungkook, they're all... in pairs." Taehyung seems to notice too. "Mates, I think."
Jungkook nods, before he stops a random person in the crowd. "Excuse me, could you please tell us where the crowd is headed?" The person is kind enough to answer with a smile. "Oh, we're all going to the festival that's being held right now. It's right up the hill!"
"What festival?" Taehyung asks, frowning. "The one for mates. Couples only." The person smiles. "They say, it has a very warm environment and great activities for couples and at the end of the day, everyone watches the sunset together."
"Are you coming too?" His mate asks, a smile on her face. Taehyung and Jungkook exchange glances – both of them want to go, they want to experience it with each other, but are too shy to say it. "Come on, it will be fun!" The other person encourages them. Both of them smile.
"Do you want to go?" Jungkook asks. "It's okay if you don't." Taehyung's eyes widen a little. "Um, do you?" Jungkook feels very shy, but nods. "Me too." Taehyung says, heart pounding in his chest.
"Okay." Jungkook smiles and bows at the other person. "Thank you. Please go ahead, we'll join in a bit." They smile and bow too, before they're walking away. Taehyung smiles very big, and walks right into the crowd. Jungkook follows him, not expecting him to do it immediately.
Everyone around them is holding hands – Taehyung notices it, and it makes him hyper aware of how empty his palm feels. Licking his lips and biting on them, he deliberately, but very gently brushes the back of his hand against the back of Jungkook's.
"I think it's going to be fun." Taehyung says, looking away from Jungkook, a little nervousness in his voice. "The festival." Jungkook still notices the touch. "Yeah. I think so too." "Yeah." Taehyung agrees, and very lightly brushes their hands together again.
Jungkook looks down at how their hands are swinging side by side, close together, and then looks up at Taehyung. "Do you want to stay until sunset there, then?" Jungkook asks, himself feeling nervous. "Of course!" Taehyung says. Another light, intentional brush, then.
But before Taehyung can attempt to brush their hands together again, Jungkook wraps his fingers around his wrist in one swift motion. "Are you trying to hold my hand, hyung?" Jungkook asks, looking ahead and biting back a smile, trying to hide the blush on his cheeks.
Taehyung freezes in place and stops walking all at once. Suddenly embarrassed, he tries to come up with something to say – anything. But Jungkook slides his fingers down and interlaces their digits together, gripping Taehyung's hand tightly. "There. Is that okay, then?"
Taehyung doesn't even look up at Jungkook anymore, but on the inside, he's completely melting. "Yes, that's okay." "You can just say it out loud without hesitating." Jungkook says, even though he's shy himself. "If you want something from me. I won't mind."
Taehyung tries to contain his smile, but fails. "Alright." "Look, there's a small food stall." Jungkook says, and turns to look at Taehyung. "Do you want something? We'll get hungry walking on and on." "Yes!" Taehyung's eyes light up. "Alright. Wait here." Jungkook smiles.
Taehyung nods, and watches Jungkook walk towards the food stall with immense fondness in his eyes. When they got married, he would never have imagined spending a day like this, and yet here he is. His heart feels extremely full right now, as he's lost in his thoughts.
While he's still staring at Jungkook, and shifting a little in place, his ankle suddenly twists, and Taehyung loses his balance. "Careful there, mister!" Somebody catches him by the arm, and stops him from tripping. "Watch your step."
Confused, and heart beating fast, Taehyung looks up to see the unfamiliar face. "Thank you." He says, as he steadies himself, shrugs off his arm and bows. "I'm the alpha leading that group over there." The man points to one part of the crowd. "And you are?"
"Isn't this whole thing for couples?" Jungkook's voice is not as gentle as every other time Taehyung has heard him speak. "I don't see your mate around, leader alpha." Taehyung whips his head around to find him approaching, food in his hands, and a frown on his face.
"Oh, I'm unmated." The man smiles. "I just wanted to get food and was walking over when I saw him tripping. I was just helping." "Oh." Jungkook nods, moving closer, and wrapping an arm around Taehyung. He smiles at the other alpha. "Thanks for helping out my husband, then."
The alpha's smile falters a little. "Oh." "Was introducing yourself a part of helping out too?" Jungkook smiles. Taehyung watches the exchange quietly, while the other alpha stares. "But anyway." Jungkook sighs. "We'll get going. Thank you, and take care."
As they move along and away from the other alpha, Taehyung stares at Jungkook's face, heart beating like crazy in his chest. "That–" Taehyung gulps. "Wow, I've never seen you like that before." Jungkook smiles. "Are you okay? You didn't hurt yourself, right?"
"Were you... jealous?" Taehyung asks, looking away from Jungkook. He knows it's wishful thinking, but he really wants Jungkook to say yes. "I don't know." Jungkook says. "Oh." "Maybe a little." Jungkook admits. "I don't know why. Is that strange? Should I not be?"
Taehyung's heart jumps in his chest, and he smiles and feels giddy inside. There's the sound of thunder overhead, and it's just then that it hits them. "It's going to rain again!" Taehyung says, and then gasps. "We're so stupid, we didn't even bring umbrellas."
"In all fairness, it was just supposed to be a walk around the cottage." Jungkook says, and then sighs. "We can just stay back. Under the tree. Watch the sunset if possible. We have food too." Taehyung gulps, looking into his eyes. "You mean... just the two of us?"
Jungkook looks down at the bags of food in his hand, face heating up. "It sounds much more appealing to me than the idea of doing it with so many other people around us." Taehyung's heart somehow melts at the words. "That sounds very... romantic. Okay. Let's do it."
"Romantic." Jungkook smiles, as they walk towards a tree. "Have you always wanted a romantic partner?" Taehyung smiles, and looks at Jungkook. "Never thought about it, but from what it looks like right now, it's pretty nice having one."
"Okay." Jungkook says, and hands over one of the food bags to Taehyung. "There's so much!" Taehyung exclaims. "I can't eat all of that!" Jungkook blushes. "I know." He says, avoiding eye contact and biting back a smile. "I didn't say the whole bag was for you."
Taehyung chuckles at that. "You're very fond of food." "You noticed." Jungkook says. Taehyung nods. "Let me cook something nice for you tonight, then." Taehyung looks at him fondly. "Anything you want."
"I would like that very much." Jungkook nods, as he sits down on a stone bench. He pats on it, and looks at Taehyung. "Sit here, hyung." Taehyung does, and then, they start to eat. They talk, but even when they silently eat, it's oddly comfortable.
Jungkook shook have known. He should have known that there's a reason people put so much importance on the idea of mates. If what he's feeling right now is anything to go by, they're all right. It's amazing to have someone like that. Jungkook feels lucky to have Taehyung.
He turns to look at Taehyung, whose cheeks are puffed up as he chews on his food. Jungkook can't help but laugh. "Your cheeks look..." Jungkook's smile falters. "Cute." Taehyung stops chewing, and stares at him. He swallows what he's eating, cheeks turning pink. "Yours too."
The sky is now colored orange, and the sun casts a beautiful diffused golden light on their faces. Jungkook suddenly realises it, and his eyes widen. "Look!" He looks at the horizon, and smiles. "The sun is setting."
Taehyung's entire face lights up, and he sits straighter. "Wow, it's beautiful." Jungkook takes in a deep breath. This is great. Scenic beauty, the setting sun, his mate, and his scent around Jungkook. "Yeah." Jungkook leans back, and looks at Taehyung. "It really is."
🀍🀍🀍
On their way back to the cottage, Taehyung doesn't brush his hands against Jungkook's anymore. He simply holds it, and their fingers intertwine easily. They don't even comment on it, as if it's something they do usually.
When there's still a few more meters left to walk, it starts pouring suddenly. There's no use running, and it only takes a few seconds for them to start getting wet in the rain. Jungkook takes off his suit jacket immediately, and puts it over Taehyung's head.
Taehyung looks up at it, and then and Jungkook, before he frowns and extends it over to Jungkook's head as well. "Do you want to catch a cold?" Taehyung scolds, as the walk, trying to cover his head properly. "I'm not the only one getting wet here."
Jungkook smiles, and his heart aches at the words. "Well, isn't it great then?" "Isn't what great?" "That I have you now." Jungkook says. "To take care of these little things." Taehyung looks away, because he just cannot maintain eye contact anymore.
"We're just a few more minutes away." Jungkook says, holding Taehyung closer to himself by the waist. "Be careful, the grass is slippery." "Isn't it great too, then?" "Hmm?" Taehyung smiles. "That I have you now to take care of these little things too?"
By the time they reach the cottage, they're more or less drenched, and Jungkook's suit jacket isn't really helping anymore. They rush inside and lock the door, and turn the lights back on. They take a good look at each other, and can't help but laugh out loud.
"Let me get us some towels." Taehyung starts to walk towards the bathroom. "We're drenched." Jungkook sighs, pulling on the wet shirt that's sticking to his chest. "I'm just going to take this off." Taehyung stops in his tracks. "Y-yeah." He nods. "Okay. That's okay."
"It's okay, right?" Jungkook asks, undoing the first button. "Of course!" Taehyung scurries to the bathroom with wide eyes. "Why would it not be?" When he's back, he almost drops the towel. He always imagined Jungkook's body to be toned, but he's a little speechless right now.
Taehyung's steps slow down as he approaches Jungkook with the towels, his mind racing far ahead of him and making heat pool in his stomach. Jungkook turns around then, and looks at Taehyung's wet clothes. "Aren't you going to take your clothes off?"
Taehyung dumbly looks down at his shirt, and then back at Jungkook because he is still too stunned to speak. "I mean, you can use the other room, of course." Jungkook nervously chuckles. "If you're not comfortable doing it in front of me."
"No, wait!" Taehyung says, looking down at the towels. "I'm not uncomfortable doing it in front of you." "Okay." Jungkook nods, biting his lips. Taehyung nods too, and looks up. "Can I dab you dry first?" Taehyung holds up the towels.
"Oh." Jungkook's eyes widen, and he eagerly nods. "Sure! Of course." Taehyung presses his lips together as he steps forward and holds the towel up, lightly pressing it to Jungkook's chest. From this close, they can't even tell their breaths apart.
As he dabs it against Jungkook's skin, all over his chest, Taehyung looks up into Jungkook's eyes. When he finds Jungkook already looking, Taehyung feels weak in the knees.
He gently moves the towel around Jungkook's neck and shoulders, finally dabbing at his hair. "It's good your hair isn't too wet." Taehyung nervously says. "Or you could have caught a cold."
"Don't keep the wet clothes on." Jungkook softly says, their faces only a few inches apart. "Do you want me to dab you dry too?" Taehyung bites his lips. "Can you do that?" Jungkook smiles. "Of course. You just did it for me."
Jungkook grabs the towel from Taehyung's hand, and then looks back at his wet clothes. "The shirt..." Jungkook looks back up at him. "Do you want me to...?" Taehyung's breath hitches, and his heart starts to pound in his chest, but he nods.
Jungkook steps forward, handing the towel back to Taehyung, before his hands are on Taehyung's chest, working his buttons open one by one. Jungkook looks up into his eyes every now and then as he does it, and Taehyung isn't sure how he hasn't already evaporated.
Jungkook finally slides the shirt off of Taehyung's arms, letting it drop to the ground. Taehyung stands shirtless in front of him, and Jungkook allows himself a good look at him before he grabs the towel again. "Come a little closer, hyung." Jungkook says.
Taehyung steps forward, and Jungkook begins to dry him just like Taehyung did a few minutes ago. When he's dabbing the towel at his chest, Taehyung wonders if Jungkook can feel his heartbeat. Suddenly, the temperature of the room is a little higher than it was a few moments ago.
Taehyung looks at Jungkook's face, and takes in every detail. His beautiful, large brown eyes, the pretty tip of his nose, the plush lips, the mole underneath. The beautiful expanse of skin on his chest. His shoulders, his hands. Taehyung sighs. Jungkook is so beautiful.
When Jungkook still doesn't break eye contact, Taehyung remembers what he told him earlier when they were outside. Jungkook asked him to say out loud, whatever Taehyung wants from him. And Taehyung does want something, right now.
He feels nervous because he doesn't know how Jungkook is going to respond. Holding hands was different. What Taehyung has in his mind right now is... something else. "What?" Jungkook asks. Taehyung bites his lips.
Nervously, Taehyung steps forward until there's almost no space left between their bodies. He takes the towel from Jungkook's hand and puts it aside. Taehyung's fingers are shaky as he lifts his hand to cup Jungkook's face. "Jungkook. Is this okay?"
Jungkook quickly glances at Taehyung's hands, and then looks back into his eyes again. "Yes." "Then..." Taehyung doesn't want to shy away from Jungkook's gaze this time. "If you're okay with it... can I kiss you?"
[ A/N : The update got a little long but I don't think anyone minds. I would love to hear your thoughts! Thank you for reading! Good night! ]
Jungkook looks into his eyes, heart pounding in his chest. He's himself surprised by how fast he wants to say yes. "If you want to." Jungkook says, stepping closer, and never breaking eye contact. "I don't mind either."
Taehyung's lips pull up in a shy smile. "But do you want me to?" Jungkook brings his hands up to caress Taehyung's cheeks. "Yes." "Okay." Taehyung says. And even though he's nervous, he leans in, and presses a kiss to Jungkook's lips.
Taehyung immediately pulls back, because the pounding of his heart and the way the kiss makes him feel is so overwhelming. With wide eyes, he stares at Jungkook, the back of his hand covering his lips as he stands there and feels his heart throb against his chest.
Jungkook looks confused for a second, before he steps towards Taehyung, and lets his gaze drop to the hand covering his mouth. Then, he looks back up. "Umm." Jungkook says. "Why'd you stop?"
Taehyung lowers his hand, gathering his courage and stepping towards Jungkook again. He gulps, hands sliding up Jungkook's chest, before he gently cups his face. "Again?" Jungkook nods. "Okay." Taehyung presses a kiss to his lips again, and this time, he doesn't pull back.
It's only a matter of time before the kiss turns heated, and Jungkook's hands close around Taehyung's waist. Their bodies are pressed up against each other's, and soon, they're moving towards the bed.
Jungkook sits down on the edge, and Taehyung climbs on top of him immediately, both of them shifting around until they're in the middle of the bed. Taehyung pulls back, panting, and looks into Jungkook's eyes. "I– wow."
"I really like your scent." Jungkook says, pulling him closer. Taehyung blushes immediately, but he extends his neck a little to allow Jungkook access. "All yours, Jungkook." Jungkook sighs into his neck. "Me too." Jungkook whispers. "All yours. If you want."
Of course Taehyung wants it, but he can't quite vocalise it. So, he just wraps his arms around Jungkook and pulls him into a hug. Jungkook returns the hug, and while it's warm and sweet, it makes the desire inside Taehyung grow stronger.
"Jungkook." He bites on his lips. "Can I ask something?" "Yeah?" Gathering all of his courage, Taehyung decides to say what's on his mind. "Now that we want to work on our marriage." He speaks into Jungkook's neck. "Shouldn't we... umm... consummate it?"
Jungkook goes quiet for a few seconds. It makes Taehyung very nervous, and he starts to think of things to say to cover for it, but Jungkook answers him before he can. "That's a very valid question." Jungkook says, and it sounds like he's smiling. "I think we should."
🀍🀍🀍
Jungkook's mother welcomes them back home with hugs, a big smile on her face, and a lot of questions. "How was it? Did you enjoy it? There weren't any problems, were there? Did it rain a lot?"
"Eomma!" Jungkook almost chuckles. "It was... really nice. We had a nice time." She hooks her arm into Taehyung's, and turns to him instead, whispering. "And what did you think, Taehyung?"
Taehyung looks at Jungkook, who's already looking at him, and tries to suppress the shy smile that threatens to slip past his lips. "Eomma, it was really nice." Taehyung smiles. "Thank you for arranging this trip for us."
"Wait here, I cooked something special for you guys." She says as she moves to the kitchen. "I'll be right back." Taehyung then turns to look at the mirror right across from him on the wall. He stares at the scarf around his neck, blushing at the thought of what lies underneath.
The memory comes back to him and his face turns red, and it doesn't help that Jungkook is staring at him from across the room with soft, gentle eyes and the sweetest smile on his face. His husband. His mate. His alpha. Taehyung smiles at him too.
"Here!" Jungkook's mother returns with two bowls, and sets them down on the table. "Eat up!" "Eomma, I need a minute." Jungkook says, sneaking a glance at Taehyung once before walking away. "I need to get fresh, I'll be right back."
She watches as Jungkook walks away, and watches at Taehyung and how he has his eyes fixed on Jungkook. Her heart feels full. Everything she planned work, and Jungkook and Taehyung are now together, just like they should have been from the start itself.
She sits down on the sofa, and pats the space next to herself. "Taehyung, come here and sit." She says. Taehyung nods, before he sits down. "Yes, eomma?"
"So... I noticed something about Jungkook." Taehyung looks confused. "What?" Jungkook's mother smiles. "I noticed that–" She says. "Jungkook now looks at you exactly the way you look at him."
