#yoonminau | kill for love. It was supposed to be an easy mission: follow the target, get close to him, break him, and end his life. Jimin wasn't prepared to fall for the soft alpha.

#yoonminau | kill for love enemies to lovers au...except yg doesn't know they're enemies. jm's been tasked with assassinating ceo yg by his boss, but after purposefully getting close to him and watching him for awhile, he doesn't really understand why..the alpha's just so..soft?
Jimin looks through the doorway of the bedroom. Yoongi’s still laying there in the middle of the bed, sheet draped over his lap. His long dark lashes rest against his high cheeks, mouth parted slightly. The moonlight makes him look paler.
Jimin feels sick at the sight. He swallows down the nausea. He should leave. He should run away as fast as he can and never look back, where no one can find him.
— five months before —
Jimin looked like any other ordinary coffee shop goer. He knew that. Taehyung, who sat in the back of the shop keeping an eye on him, knew that. But there was an itch underneath Jimin’s skin. Like somehow everyone knew what he was there for.
He’d been killing for three years but that feeling never really went away. Sometimes he thought it was the scents. A lot of people in Seoul don’t wear blockers, a free city and all, he fucking hated the place.
But, it’s where the highest paying work is. So he stays around, even though the sea tries to call him home.
Taehyung texted, probably because he was bored. Jimin cleared it, because he was to keep an eye on the door. If he missed his target just because his partner wanted to play a phone game of pool, their boss would have both of their heads.
Jimin preferred to kill rather than be killed.
His target walked in at a quarter to seven. Jimin noted it down. If it was a pattern, he needed to know. He waved at the barista, who waved back happily. He must be a regular. When he was given the profile there wasn’t much information, but Jimin did know this.
- Min Yoongi - Born in 93 - CEO of Honsool House, inherited from his late father 176cm, around ~59kg, Jimin thinks he could take him down easily.
What he wasn't prepared for was lean, dark, and handsome. The small picture on his file hadn't done him justice.
The file included things like his address, his family members, acquaintances, and public employees of the business he ran. Jimin was supposed to fill in the rest of the details, such as his schedule.
He needed to know where he spent his day before and after going into the high rise office downtown, what restaurants he held business meetings in, and who all of his clients were, old and new.
He was ordered to watch him for awhile before he was allowed to go in for the kill. “Gather as much information as you can. Hell, get to know him if you have to. But I want to know everything, Jimin. I want to break him before he’s dead.”
Jimin had broken men before. As he watched him order a decaf iced americano and a butter croissant, tipping the barista and smiling at the toddler he walked by. Jimin thought breaking him would be awfully easy.
He was fucking wrong.
The mission had come to him at an awkward time. He wasn’t really looking for a next target. His last kill had paid a hefty price. But when his boss approached him, calling him offlorn location as always, he couldn’t say no. He owed her, he would forever.
The CEO made his way out to a sleek, black, SUV. Some foreign brand that many of the CEOs of Seoul often drove. Jimin’s own car was nicer.
He jotted down the license plate number in his phone then tucked the burner device away, pulling out the other to finally reply to Taehyung’s stream of texts. His own target was due in the shop in the next five or ten minutes, no wonder he had time on his hands to send messages.
Thank god she was countries away. Off completing some business deal, trade, or something else unspeakable. Jimin never tried to keep up with her. He got his assignments, targets, and did his job. Reporting back when the target’s life was ended.
It was weird this time around that he was to watch the target for weeks. He’d never done this kind of assignment before. He’d also never been paid this well.
“Two billion won?!” Jimin had looked at the top of the file which always contained the proposal of payment. Proposal made it seem as though his boss was up for negotiations. She wasn’t.
“It should be sufficient enough for this long job. You’re going to be getting close to this man, Jimin. There’s an extra element of danger in deception this deep.”
Two billion won could put him out of business forever. Min Yoongi would be his last kill.
Taehyung’s target came not soon after. His job was much easier than Jimin’s. He’d go home by the end of the day, clean hands as always, but someone else would be dead. Jimin didn’t know how he took his victims.
He’d return to his home of solitude, Alpha Jeon in wait, completely oblivious to what his omega was doing during the day.
“I could never live like you,” Jimin said as they exited the cafe together. Their cars were parked a few blocks away, each in the opposite direction.
He’d need to find a location to stake out soon, walking wasn’t on his agenda. Especially not in a few months' time when the Seoul heat would sweep through the wretched city.
Taehyung’s scent wrapped around like perfume in a department store as he thought about the alpha waiting at home for him. He wasn’t from Seoul, Daegu born, but scents ran as loose as ever in those parts. Jimin missed Busan.
“I love my life,” Taehyung replied, stopping at the corner where they would part ways. “What Alpha Jeon doesn’t know won't hurt him.”
“But you could,” Jimin teased. Taehyung rolled his eyes. There would never be a lifetime where he’d need to kill the love of his life. Jimin wouldn’t be so lucky.
The early morning took him toward Honsool House Headquarters. The business was kept in the highrise buildings right in the heart of Seoul. It was both the most inconvenient and least convenient spot for Jimin to be.
Busy enough for him to be conspicuous. Too busy for him to do his job correctly.
He could see the CEO’s office if he went to the tenth floor of the library directly across from the building. It contained a cafe where he could peer out the window and gaze in on what the alpha was doing.
But just barely. To see everything inside he’d need binoculars, which would be weird, invasive and definitely have him arrested.
The cafe worked for a while. The CEO spent most of his time in his office and much of it looking out his wide window. For a moment, Jimin thought he could have been staring right at him. His pulse thrummed in his throat at the thought.
He couldn’t be known to him yet. Meeting on day one wasn’t a part of his plan.
Pretending to look busy all day was one of Jimin’s finer talents. If this whole assassination gig didn’t work out in the long run, which it shouldn't because he’d have to stop killing people one day, acting could be in his future.
Out in the world when he was scoping out his targets he could be anyone he wanted to be.
Park Jimin, the college student. That poor professor had it coming, preying on young girls like that. Park Jimin the hypochondriac. Spending all of his time in the hospital was a bit of a bore.
But the boss wanted the doctor dead, so for a week straight he made them do test after test just to slip something into his drink. He’d been a dog walker, a mailman (a hard job to get), a masseuse (killed by pressure points), and a myriad of other things.
For the next few months at least, he was Park Jimin, the budding businessman. Soon, he would worm his way into Honsool House, the largest alcohol import company in the country.
Somehow Honsool House had surpassed Hite Jinro, previously the largest domestic and international Korean liquor import..
He spent the rest of the day reading through the webpage and every single press release of Honsool House. Min Yoongi, the only son of the former and deceased CEO, inherited the company just eighteen months ago.
His father was killed in a freak car accident while on vacation in Japan. Jimin would have to look into that as well.
Since his inheritance, the company’s sales have only risen. Min Yoongi had graduated top of his business class at SNU, then went to study in the States for several years. He only returned home when the passing of his father occurred.
Jimin continued to read the editorial for W Korea, published a few months ago. It detailed the country’s top billionaires. Min Yoongi was the youngest.
The CEO leaving in the late evening caught Jimin’s eye. It was just before the cafe was to close and he was trying to figure out where he would continue watching from. But the lights in his office, the only ones in the entire building left on, went out.
Jimin peered through the lowest level of the library as the CEO slid into the car his valet pulled up for him. Jimin would follow him home that evening and watch the CEO in his penthouse apartment go through his nightly affairs, getting no dirt on him at all.
This continued throughout the week. Jimin became frustrated. Min Yoongi might be the most boring alpha he’d never come across, and Jimin had ignored many an alpha before.
On Tuesday, he came into the cafe again, ordered the same decaf iced americano, the same croissant, and dropped the same tip in the jar.
At lunchtime Jimin watched him walk across the street to the sandwich shop only to walk out and hand his meal to the man on the corner. Did he just give that homeless person the meal he was holding? He wrote it down. He kept watching.
In the afternoons he went home early, Jimin could see him trail around his apartment building with a bag of…kibble? There was a clear sign in front that said not to feed the stray cats, but clearly the CEO didn’t care.
He scratched behind the cat’s ears, pet it from head to tail, and promised to come back tomorrow.
The only thing that changed in his weekly routine was Thursday evening. Instead of driving home after leaving the office, Min Yoongi drove to the gym. He was clapped on the back by a man who looked like he was carved from an oak tree and stood as tall as one.
Jimin sighed. A gym membership had not been on his assignment bingo card. But he’d acquire one, if the CEO made this a routine.
After two weeks of watching, texting his boss a million things that were practically useless he was ordered to dig deeper.
“It’s time you’ve met the CEO,” his boss declared.
On a Friday morning Jimin waited inside the coffee shop. He’d taken to switching from being near or inside every other day, as not to draw attention.
Taehyung wasn’t around with his pink smoothies, so it was a bit easier. He missed his rascal partner, though. He’d have to call him back to let him know if his plan worked.
Like clockwork, the CEO came into the coffee shop sporting the same soft smile and inviting eyes. Jimin stood. Taehyung had set the entire scene.
“Buy him a coffee, say you read an article about him and want to know more about alcohol imports. Schedule a meeting and you’re in.” He’d said all of this with a toddler on his hip and a wine glass in the other hand.
His life didn’t make sense to Jimin at all.
Jimin was poised to pay for the coffee, but the barista was quicker than him. Knowing the CEO was coming in, the order was already made. He paid quickly, nabbing his bag and his drink.
At the same time Jimin stepped forward, the alpha’s strong, citrus scent slammed into him, along with his body, and the iced drink was poured down his front.
Jimin is hardly ever surprised. In his field of work they don’t have time for surprises. Every minuscule detail matters. Surprises are dangerous. He was surprised by Min Yoongi, though.
“I’m so sorry,” the alhpa grabbed napkin upon napkin shoving them at Jimin chest, wiping away at the coffee that had clearly already soaked through the white t-shirt he sported on top of black slacks. Jimin held his breath.
He continued trying to dry him, large hands rubbing and patting his chest. Between the touching, his sweet scent, and the alpha’s soft demeanor, Jimin was frozen in place. Was there a blush coating his cheeks? Fuck.
Min Yoongi looked into his eyes momentarily. “I’m, oh god. I’m sorry,” he removed his hands and stepped away for a moment. “I owe you like, everything. Here you can have my shirt and I’ll buy you coffee or or a gift card to this shop, yeah?” He started to undo the buttons.
Jimin blinked. His eyes zeroed in on the chest that was beginning to show. He held his palms out. “Stop! Stop, oh my god, no.”
His large hands halted. “I might have another shirt in my car? My gym bag is in there. I have an extra session with my trainer today and–god, I’m sorry you don’t need to know all of this.”
Jimin took a napkin. They were kind of taking up an awkward amount of space in the cafe and the barista, who’s name happened to be Seokjin, was very clearly smirking at the pair from behind the counter.
He dabbed at his shirt. “Okay, maybe a shirt from your car. But not...that one...”
The alpha nodded. His scent changed from slightly sour, tinged with anxiety, back to the sweet and overpowering citrus that had rooted Jimin in place before. “I’ll be right back and meet you in the bathroom?”
The barista choked and turned around quickly, acting as though he wasn’t listening in.
Jimin looked up from his wet shirt to the alpha’s face. There was a light dusting of pink blossoming on his cheeks. “Be right back with the shirt,” he dashed away before Jimin could say anything else.
“Can I–” he swiveled to the counter and saw that a key was already being held out for him.
“It’s usually a one person at a time rule,” ‘Seokjin’ looked at him suggestively, “but I’ll allow you to break the rules today.”
Jimin enjoyed breaking rules, but not like this.
Jimin entered the singular stall bathroom and glanced at himself in the mirror. If his boss saw him right now she’d have his head for sure. What the hell was he doing? He wasn’t an amateur.
His shirt was ruined for sure. The black slacks would dry and just be uncomfortable for a while. He sighed just as the alpha came back in, his scent overpowering still. Jimin was half tempted to cover his nose. The smell wasn’t unpleasant, which was the problem.
“This should work, I’m so sorry again,” he passed the shirt over.
Jimin took it and then they kind of stared at each other for a moment. It was his first chance getting a close up of his target.
He noted the important skin markings: a small mole on the side of his nose, in the middle of his cheek, and another on his clavicle where he still hadn’t buttoned his shirt back up.
His eyes were piercing. Sharp, lynx-like inner corners that gave way to fill with round brown irises. Jimin didn’t know it then, but those eyes would haunt him in his sleep forever.
His mouth rested in a natural pout that made him seem unhappy, in a childlike way. Jimin was quite fucking confused, this…was his target?
The alpha continued to stare back until Jimin lifted the shirt in his hand. “I need to um—,” “Oh, right,” he squeezed his eyes closed and turned around.
Jimin held back a laugh. He didn’t know why his boss wanted this man dead, but maybe it was based purely on the fact that he might be the most painfully awkward person in all of Seoul. “I can probably get dressed by myself.”
“Oh my god of course,” he exited the bathroom.
When Jimin came out the alpha was standing there with two new coffees and a tight smile on his face. Jimin approached him hesitantly.
“I swear I’m not always like this,” he offered a drink to him. “I just really hate messing things up. It threw off my morning. I’m Min Yoongi.”
Jimin accepted the coffee. “I know.” The alpha’s scent spiked in confusion. He cocked his head to the side, feline eyes poised. “You..know?”
“I was waiting for my friend,” Jimin gestured to where Taehyung was now sitting, always apart of the plan for him to arrive late. Yoongi’s eyes followed to where the young omega sat, bright pink smoothie in his hand.
“I saw you come in. I, well this is a little embarrassing for me, but I was starstruck?” His natural pout slipped into a frown.
“I read an article last week, about Seoul’s billionaires. We’re in the same field, I’m just starting out, and I’m just, well,” Jimin turned his natural charm on, leaning into emitting his scent. “I’m so inspired by you.”
The rose hinted cheeks returned. The alpha pinched at the skin of his neck and gave a breathy, shy laugh. “Oh, thank you. I, um, I’m sorry I’m bad with compliments.”
Jimin smiled. “That’s okay. I was hoping we might set up a meeting. I’d love to pick your brain on imports and how to break into international importing. I’m still domestic.”
Yoongi fumbled into his back pocket to pull out his wallet, balancing the coffee in one hand. Jimin simply plucked it from him. “I assume you don’t have another shirt in your car for either of us.”
He gave an amused smile and procured a sleek, white business card. “This goes to my secretary, Hoseok. Call and set up a meeting with him. Tell him its–,” the alpha paused.
“Jimin,” the omega replied.
“Jimin,” he nodded as though he enjoyed the name. “I’m going to call him on the way into the office to let him know to clear an afternoon for you,” he handed him another card. “This is a gift card to this shop. At our meeting we’ll have lunch as my sincerest apology.”
“Yoongi-ssi, that’s too much,” he passed the coffee back. “Just a meeting will do.”
“I insist,” Yoongi smiled. Fuck, Jimin continued to be so confused. What did his boss have over this man? “I’ve got a meeting to get to. I look forward to hearing from you, Jimin.”

As Jimin slips from the apartment now, inner omega screams for him to return to his alpha in bed. He thinks about that day in the coffee shop. He wonders if he just wouldn’t have gone through with the plan to approach him, what might be of them now.
He wishes so deeply that he didn’t have to kill Min Yoongi.
that's the end of "act 1", there will be three overall acts in this fic let's chat about it, thank you for reading, 🤍curiouscat.live/taesaus
- now - He runs from the apartment as fast as he can, the alpha’s scent clinging to his nose. He whimpers as he gets into the car, a budding scream in the back of his throat.
He wonders how long it will take for him to die. He wonders how badly it will hurt when their bond breaks. They say it’s insufferable. He hopes it is, it’s what he deserves.

Jung Hoseok was a petite but tall man with a bright smile and a demeanor much too happy for 8 o’clock in the morning, Jimin thought.
He greeted him warmly before pouring him a cup of tea, even though Jimin held two coffees in his hand. One was for the ceo..
He’d stolen the idea from one of Taehyung’s earlier assassinations. He figured, if he got in the routine of bringing the ceo coffee then slipping something into later on would be simple and barely suspicious.
He’d contacted Jung Hoseok in the afternoon after his highly wet encounter with the alpha in the coffee shop. “Ahh, Mr. Park, I’m looking forward to meeting you. It isn’t quite often the ceo clears his entire schedule just for anyone. You must be…important.
Jimin hadn’t missed the slight humorous tone in the secretary’s voice. “Not important at all, just eager. Please let me know what time would work for CEO Min on Monday. Preferably morning if possible.”
“Oh, Monday. He was hoping you’d come this afternoon…” Jimin had thought about it too, the quicker he got in and gathered all he could for his boss, the quicker this job could be done. The alpha left an itch under his skin that he could place.
But he figured that one more weekend of watching, and learning the import business would help the fake conversations he would need to have.
So the meeting was scheduled bright and early Monday morning.
On Saturday Jimin had woken up in his Seoul apartment, startled. The nightmares were back. He groaned and pulled himself from the sheets quickly, trying to bust his mind with something.
That’s when he decided to drive to Min Yoongi’s apartment. He didn’t really need to watch him for the whole weekend, but for some reason the omega couldn’t stop wondering what he was doing.
He parked down the street and sat at the corner, eyes trained up on the twelfth floor. It was the penthouse, he found out. Behind the tinted windows of his vehicle he did pull out binoculars, peering in. The curtains were drawn at the balcony, open for all the world to see.
He spotted him easily. Jimin swallowed. He was dressed simply in cotton joggers and a white, lower cut tee. He looked different when he wasn’t so put together. The omega’s belly swooped.
For some reason the alpha was drawn to sipping his morning drinks by staring out into the skyline. He did it in his office as well, always pondering. Jimin longed to know what his thoughts were. He put the binoculars down, shaking his head.
That wasn’t part of his job. He tipped his head back to rest on the seat, he needed to get himself together.
The Alpha left after a little while, heading out in casual clothing. Jimin trailed him, a few cars behind so as not to be seen. He pulled into a market, bustling with people on the sunny Saturday morning. Did he really spend his free time shopping?
Jimin stayed in the parking lot as he shopped, texting Tae who was at home with his alpha and their child, begging Jimin to come entertain him later this evening when alpha Jeon went into work. Jimin said he would think about it.
He sent his boss a few updates and was in the middle of asking her what else she was wanting from this Monday meeting when Yoongi exited the store. He had a few things in the paper bags, along with a bouquet of flowers sticking out the top.
Jimin pursed his lips. There was nothing in the file about the alpha having a partner. Jimin sifted through his notes quickly as he loaded his things in his trunk. He then watched carefully as Yoongi stopped to help an old woman with her bags and the returning of her cart.
He plucked one of the roses from his purchase and handed it to her. Her smile lit up the parking lot. The alpha bowed before returning to his own vehicle.
Jimin groaned. The Alpha was relentlessly perfect. He continued to be tremendously bewildered. There was nothing negative he could even attempt to take back to his boss. Jimin had been an assassin for years and this was his most confusing case yet.
He followed him still to the next location, it wasn’t his home, but another luxirous looking apartment. Jimin looked up at the building, then in the digital file that had been provided to him. Yoongi got out of the car, carrying one of the paper bags and the flowers.
He typed in the access code to the gated building. Jimin glanced back down once it loaded. A picture of the building appeared and was earmarked with the owner’s location. Min Youngji.
The alpha was going to see his mother.
The visit lasted multiple hours. Within that timespan Jimin was able to do some research on the only living elder of the Min family. Min Youngji had married her omega husband young, an arrangement between families.
They acquired her family's business and dissolved it into their own in the marriage. There wasn’t much to go on as she spent her time being a housewife and running charities.
Jimin wondered if Yoongi had gotten his generous demeanor from his alpha mother. As the only registered living heir under him, Yoongi was granted the company, rather than his mother, after his father’s death. Jimin could never really track down why.
At the end of the visit, Jimin could see in the penthouse window as Yoongi hugged his mother, squeezing tightly. She tucked a strand of his long hair behind his ear before smiling, warming and sending him on his way.
Jimin had only been watching him for a little while, but his mood seemed lighter than other days when he left.
Sunday proved to be quite uneventful. Yoongi hadn’t left his apartment for the whole day. Jimin realized he’d need to get in somehow to set up cameras so he didn’t have to spend his whole day here monitoring the alpha.
So as he strolled into Honsool Headquarters he was eager to finally meet with the alpha. His boss had been quite uneventful in her reply, somewhere off in a foreign country once again. “Just keep digging, Jimin,” she replied.
The secretary places him, his coffees, and the cup of tea at the waiting table area. “CEO Min will come to retrieve you in the next few minutes. Is there anything else I can get for you?” Jimin shakes his head. “Thank you, Hoseok-ssi,” he sits.
He appears to busy himself on his phone but in reality he’s writing down all of the details about the Honsool Headquarters office space. It’s large, and open. There’s a long corridor with what appears to be doors that lead to offices…Jimin assumes.
He’ll have to get one of their men to find the blueprints of the place somewhere.
On the opposite side are double doors that are closed off to the rest of the area. It’s through there that the alpha comes. Jimin’s taken a bit aback.
After seeing him in such casual clothes over the weekend, jeans one day, sweatpants the next, he almost forgot what he looked like in a button up and a jacket. The sleeves are rolled up to his forearms, exposing slight veins. He swallows.
The omega diverts his eyes, in order to get his hormones in control, because that’s what it is, hormones making him react this way, he hardly spends any time around alphas…and his heat is due in a few weeks…he meets the CEO’s smile as he stands.
“Jimin-ssi,” he sticks a hand out to shake. Jimin realizes the lack of trembling. He’s much more confident in this element rather than the coffee shop. He clasps his hand with his own. “I’m excited to see you here today, please follow me to my office.”
The CEO’s office could take up the entire living and kitchen area of the apartment that Jimin is currently renting.
Equipped with floor to ceiling windows, couches, a conference table in the back, as well as what appears to be a mini/bar or kitchenette, Jimin understands why he might spend so much time here.
"Amazing,” he says, looking around. “This is spectacular.”
Yoongi smiles with a light chuckle. “The space belonged to my father before me and I’ve since made some renovations. I figured if I was going to spend hundreds of hours here it might as well be a space that I enjoy. There’s a gaming system too,” he grins.
Jimin finds himself smiling back. “Oh!” it dawns on him he’s still holding two coffees, and the tea was long forgotten in the waiting area. “I brought this for you,” he extends the cup.
“Ahh, thank you. I should owe you coffee for the rest of forever from our incident on Friday.”
Jimin waves him away. “It’s already long forgotten. I’m grateful for the invitation today, Yoongi-ssi.” “Well, I should make it worth your while then, let’s chat,” he beckons him towards the couch.
In the two weeks that Jimin spent watching the CEO from the window of the library cafe, he also spent learning everything there was about alcohol imports.
The conversation with Yoongi flows freely as they discuss the process and mechanics of such a large company.
Yoongi moves their conversation to a table where he shows Jimin what his daily tasks look like running a company.
“Conversations with investors, updates on product stock in the warehouses, shipments in and out of port, as well as distribution to the many bars, convenience stores, and liquor stores we supply to.”
Jimin takes a dramatic breath, as though he’s overwhelmed. “How do you have all of the space in your brain to stay organized?”
Yoongi laughs. Jimin thinks it's nice. Then he internally shakes his head because it isn’t his job to think the Alpha’s laugh is nice. What the hell is wrong with him?
“Well, that’s what I have Hoseok for. He arranges the schedules and meetings. I’ve got a partner too, Namjoon. He oversees the warehouse and distribution. I mostly go to the meetings and sign the paperwork. It’s not too much.” Jimin scoffs. “I think you’re lying.”
“It also helps that we take on interns, which is something I actually would like to talk with you about–” Yoongi is cut off by a knock on the door. He gives a quiet sigh and a polite smile. “Excuse me for a moment.”
Jimin’s grateful for the time alone. He hadn’t expected it, but it gives him the perfect opportunity to plant the bugs around the room. They’re small, black dots that pick up sound for miles. He’d stuck one underneath Hoseok’s desk when he came in.
He sticks one under the CEO’s desk, right at the front where his chair rests. He then places another underneath the coffee table at the couch area. Two should be enough to pick up what he needs, but he goes near the conference area to leave the final for good measure.
The Alpha returns with a lunch Jimin wasn’t expecting. “Now this isn’t a bribe…” he starts as he places warm noodle dishes out for the both of them. “Well, it might be a bribe. I’m not very good at negotiations. I’m too busy trying to make everyone happy.”
Jimin gives him a feigned innocent stare. “A bribe for..?” “The internship. I started talking about it but then our lunch arrived, late, I might add. I’d planned this perfectly actually.”
Yoongi explains that he’d set out to offer Jimin a position at Honsool House as an intern before their conversation even started. “I looked you up online, your credentials are great.”
Jimin’s so fucking glad Taehyung was able to hack into the alcohol trade bearu’s system to register Jimin as a distributor. He then created fake “research” articles that came up about Jimin’s college business career.
“You had very impressive success as a business student. I think Honsool could really use you as we move into this new phase of developing our smaller companies. I’d like to have you on as an intern first, to prove your work, with the hopes of hiring you in the future full time."
He looks at him with eager eyes. "What do you say?” Jimin can sniff out the scent of hopefulness around him. For some reason, it makes him want to say yes even more.
Jimin is shocked. He can’t believe this. He’ll have consistent access to the CEO every single day, just as his boss would like. He doesn’t know what he did in another life to have this luck, because killing people in this one surely wasn’t it, but whatever it was, he’s grateful.
“I think I’d love that,” he says. “I really would.”
Jimin starts at Honsool House the following day bright and early. A generous wire transaction was placed in his account for his success.
He's given a small office down the opposite hall of the CEO's. Hoseok is the one to give him a tour. The unassuming secretary gives him a fob, badge, and keys. He doesn’t understand that he’s giving the assassin all of the access he needs to complete his job.
“The CEO said you’d be working directly with him, which is uncommon for interns,” he smiles brightly. “You must be good at what you do.” Jimin chuckles. If only he knew.
He’s frozen in place as the scent of the Alpha enters the building. Something within him flutters when he realizes, he’s here.
They greet him in the meeting area. He’s on the phone, brows pulled tight and it looks as though he’s about to just wave mindlessly at Hoseok until he sees the omega standing next to him.
His features change into something softer. “Yes, I said two-thirty this afternoon. I’ll see you there. Tell Namjoon to come to my office immediately,” he hangs up the phone.
Jimin’s still staring at him and something in the Alpha’s scent spikes. Jimin’s belly grows with warmth. This might be the most nerve wracking mission he’s ever been given.
“Good morning, Yoongi-ssi,” he bows to the CEO.
He waves him off. “Hyung is fine. Come with me, I’d like to show you a few things. Hoseok, please buzz Namjoon through when he arrives.”
“Yes, sir,” Hoseok returns to his desk as the two head towards Yoongi’s office.
Jimin remembers reading about Honsool House’s executive director, Namjoon. He went to SNU with the CEO and was brought on to help run the company when the alpha inherited it.
Jimin quite literally kills people for a living, but is intimidated by the alpha that arrives. He stands several centimeters taller, is much broader, and has one of those faces that suggests he’s always serious.
Yoongi introduces the two of them but Namjoon barely glances his way. Jimin sits while the two of them discuss spreadsheet numbers, shipments, and apparently a large meeting coming up within the next few weeks with investors.
He pretends to take notes about what they're saying, but really Jimin is gathering the specific types of details. Accounts, holdings, the names of the investors that are mentioned. He'll have much more research to do this evening.
The next few weeks at Honsool House become very mundane. Jimin spends the day acting as a diligent worker. Sometimes he does smaller things like filing, scanning, errands.
Othertimes Yoongi pulls him to observe conversations about how the behind the scenes operations make Honsool so successful.
Something changes during the third week. Jimin is working late, putting together an investors report for the large meeting they’ve been preparing for. It seems as though the CEO is acquiring a new establishment.
The conversations between Yoongi and Namjoon have been very clipped and calculated about it.
Jimin is sitting at the large round table in Yoongi’s office as he types away at his computer. More and more the small office that he’d been given became useless. The CEO was consistently pulling him in and telling him to work there so he could run ideas by him and give notes.
“Jimin-ah,” he asks once he gets off another heated conversation with Namjoon. From an outsider's perspective, it might seem as if the two of them never got along.
Jimin looks up from the computer. “Yes?” He walks over to the table. His scent, tinged with smoky anger, slaps Jimin in the face. It’s so suffocating, it takes everything in him to not just breathe it in.
“You were mentioning you wanted to understand the more ins and outs of owning an establishment, yes? What were you thinking?” “Let’s say I was hoping to start somewhere small, like a club,” Jimin poses, “what might that look like?”
Yoongi smiles. “Honsool has two clubs here in Seoul. One of which is registered and the other is…not.”
“It was inherited from my mother’s family,” Yoongi says slowly. His fingers are moving on his phone while he keeps Jimin’s gaze. “Have you ever heard of Lavender?”
Jimin’s stomach pools with heat. The illustrious brothel, made only for the elitist people of society. Hardly anyone in Seoul is supposed to know about it. His eyes flick up from the table and there's darkness in the Alpha’s gaze and that spicy aroma is still in his scent.
“I think we’ve been here late enough, let’s take a visit.”
Lavender lies within the dark confines of an alleyway that might be missed unless you know exactly where you’re supposed to be going. They enter through what looks to be a normal club.
But a quick cut to the right, tapping of an access code that Jimin notes in his head, and they lead down into something otherworldly.
Dancers, both clothed and not populate the bar. There’s lights, music, and alcohol flowing freely. The Honsool House emblem is incredibly present on the wall. Jimin is surprised they’re advertising so largely and yet this information has never been leaked to the public.
They’re ushered into a private room where Honsool House’s liquor lies all over the table. “Have you ever tried our whiskey, Jimin?” He nods hesitantly. “No, I’m not much of a drinker.”
“Would you like some?” he pinches the space between his brows. “Hoseok and Namjoon will be joining us soon. I just–” he pauses. “We’ve all been working so hard. I wanted to show you a sign of Honsool that most people don’t get to see. A side of me that no one gets to see.”
Jimin wasn’t prepared for what he was about to get himself in, but he accepted the drink.

Jimin can’t tell if it's the alcohol or the presence of the secretary that has changed Namjoon’s demeanor, but the alpha has been smiling more freely all evening. The conversation flows more towards things in their personal lives and not about work.
Jimin drinks and drinks to stay quiet and observatory. He slows down once he realizes it might inhibit his ability to do his job, his real job of obtaining information for his mission.
It’s Hoseok who suggests they dance. Apparently “he always does this,” Namjoon gives the laziest smile and because they’re in Seoul, where scents fly freely, he can’t hide his affection.
Jimin dances with Hoseok first. Over the weeks he thinks the secretary might consider him to be a friend. In another world, one where he wasn’t hired to infiltrate their company, Jimin thinks they would be friends.
He’s light and happy. The brightest spot in the Honsool office without a question.
Jimin feels good, moving his body like this. He’s taken aback when a hand reaches out to touch his arm. He opens his eyes from his euphoric haze. Yoongi is looking back at him. His scent wafts around, heady with desire.
Jimin’s omega instincts betray him. He sighs into the alpha as they begin dancing together. The alarms go off in his head. “Don’t do this,” he can hear his boss’ voice say. “You’ll ruin everything, Park Jimin.”
He doesn’t listen as he presses his mouth to Yoongi’s, hot and wet, lust capturing the both of them.
In a brothel, you’d think they wouldn’t be having sex in the bathroom. But that’s where the pair find themselves. It’s a private bathroom. Large enough to make it work, but they still find themselves bumping into different surfaces.
The alpha is a bit rough as he slams Jimin into the wall, attaching his lips to his neck. “Is this okay? Do you want this?” he asks.
Jimin pants heavily. All of the strange feelings he’s been trying to ignore for weeks come spilling to the surface. “Yes,” he growls, baring his scent gland more. He focuses hard, pushing through the blockers that he takes, to release what he knows the alpha is looking for.
Saffron explodes when Jimin allows his scent to come through. The alpha almost chokes on it, becoming more intense with his touches. “Oh my god,” he nips at his skin. His warm tongue laps at the gland, he bites and sucks. “You smell, your scent, I’ve never–” he’s almost whining.
“I know,” Jimin says. He grinds against him as he lets out more. “This is just for you.”
“You’re clean, yeah?” Yoongi asks as he begins the process of prepping Jimin. “And birth control…?”
“Yes, and yes,” Jimin replies. His eyes are hazy, he’s drunk on alcohol and Yoongi alone.
It’s all hips gripped tight and suppressed moans against the cold, black tiled walls. It’s feet planted firmly. Marks left on Jimin’s shoulders and spin as the alpha bites down the length of his back. It’s fingers are quick inside him, but his thrusts are even faster.
Jimin almost collapses by the end. “Come home with me,” Yoongi says after they’ve mostly cleaned up. Jimin doesn’t know how to say any other word than yes.
It’s guilt that eats him alive as he slips away in the early morning. It pools in his stomach and makes him sick as he watches the alpha lie there, bruises bitten into his skin by Jimin, matching marks to remember.
It’s desire that brings him back to this very bed over and over again as the months tick by.
He gets more creative in the way he shares information with his boss. He messes up little details that only he would notice. He gives half truths and only responds as much as necessary for her to not catch on that his loyalties are beginning to lie somewhere else.
After four months of interning as Honsool House during the day and being bedded by the CEO in the evening, Jimin feels their connection start to course through him.
“Jimin-ah,” Taehyung says one evening when Jimin falls to his doorstep, sobbing that he can’t go on and he knows he’ll be killed for what he’s done. “You can’t help it,” he strokes his friend's hair. “You never stood a chance against that alpha’s desire for you.”
“Why not?” the omega sniffles.
Taehyung sighs, looking over his shoulder where Alpha Jeon cooks them dinner. “The CEO is your fated mate.” And suddenly, the world clicks into place.
aHHHHH, okay so that's the end of Act II. There's one more act to come soon!! curiouscat.live/taesaus
- now -
Jimin collapses into the alleyway when the pain begins in his chest. His knees crash hard into the ground, scraping through his jeans. The sting of that is nothing compared to the heat from his mark. Jimin presses a hand to it, applying pressure to try and dull the pain.
He screams at the burn that feels like fire coursing beneath his skin. Being burned alive might be more pleasant. Taehyung finds him there. Jimin’s panting, tears streaming down his face. Another scream is muffled in Taehyung’s chest.
“T-Tae,” he chokes out. There are spots in his vision. He’s going to lose consciousness. He pushes through. He doesn't deserve the reprieve of passing out. “He’s dying,” Jimin sobs. “I can f-feel it–” another stabbing sensation pierces his chest.
He thinks his heart might be physically breaking. “Go to him, please,” he sobs. “Go!” He pushes Taehyung harshly away.
Taehyung runs full speed into the apartment complex. If he makes it to Yoongi in time he might be able to save him. His heart might not stop.
Jimin falls into the ground, curling in on himself. He screams until he passes out. Yoongi’s kind smile, his soft eyes, and the love he has for him is the last thing he remembers.
- one month before -
Jimin’s belly blossomed with something more than lust and desire. He looked up at Taehyung. There’s tears clouded his vision. “Fated mate?”
Growing up in Busan, he heard about all the lore surrounding Seoul dynamics. Scents that run strong and free. Bonds created by mating marks meant to last for a lifetime. Jimin promised himself he’d never again be tied to another so permanently. His last bond almost broke him.
Fated mates were more. Wivestales told stories of lovers destined to be together, the Earth and moon aligning over centuries leading up to the moment the two would meet. Lovers who died if there bonds were ever broken.
“That day in the coffee shop,” Taehyung said. His fingers still stroked Jimin’s hair, calming him. Now that he’d been with Yoongi for a while, his blockers had worn off. His omega scent turned sour with anxiety and strife. “You froze when you caught wind of his scent.”
Jimin remembered it, citrus and floral. It’d grown stronger since then, becoming one of Jimin’s favorite smells in the world. “No-no it can’t be. We’re just sleeping together.”
Taehyung shook his head. “I saw the way he looked at you that day. You have to remember, Jimin, Yoongi’s from Seoul. His ways are different here. He already knows you’re to be together. He felt it months ago. There’s no turning back now.”
Jimin pushed himself up, getting on wobbly legs. The tears came faster. He physically disagreed. “No, Taehyung. It can’t be,” he started to feel mad. “She’ll kill him before I can,” he pulled on his hair, neck whipping back and forth.
“She’ll do it in front of me. She’ll make me suffer for falling in love.”
“Jiminah, wait, please,” Taehyung said. He grasped for his friend. He knew what he’d been through. This fate, this love, it felt like a trap for Jimin. “We can think of something.”
He ran out before Taehyung could utter another word and try to convince him that things could be different.
He ran away to Busan.
Park Jimin was 19 the first time he ever fell in love. Jimin was nineteen the first time he ever fell in love. It felt like eons ago. Hwanjae had been everything to him. A love that was fast, exciting, and dangerous.
He took him away from the family that disowned him. “Male omegas must find strong female alphas,” his father had spit at him when Jimin had said he thought he liked boys.
His mother’s eyes looked away, pretending not to see or hear the slap that rang out in the living room.
Hwanjae made him feel strong and beautiful. Reminded him that he could be both, no matter what the people of Busan thought.
He didn’t realize Hwanjae was bad for him. He was twenty-two and so in love with him, he allowed himself to get caught up. He hadn’t realized he’d mated him in the heat of his rut until it was too late. It hurt when he was ever away.
“That’s your bond,” Taehyung had explained. He was a bit older, wiser. He worked for the same people as Hwanjae, but he was kind. Jimin trusted him. “Hwanjae claimed you.”
Jimin was almost a shell of himself by then. Whatever Hwanjae wanted, Jimin gave. He thought he loved him so much. Hwanjae had rescued him from his horrible life, he owed everything to him.
Everything went wrong the night of Hwanjae’s final mission. Jimin wasn’t supposed to be there, but he was in pre-heat and because of their bond, the one Hwanjae had forced upon him, they couldn’t be apart without immense pain.
“Just stay in the car,” Hwanjae had said. “I’ll be in and out in no time.”
Jimin’s pulse had thrummed underneath his throat. Something felt off. He touched Hwanjae’s hand. “Don’t go,” he begged. “Just,” he sighed. He knew it was Hwanjae’s job, to clean up the messes of other men and women more powerful than him. But it felt wrong that night.
Hwanjae rolled his eyes. “Jimin, I’ll be fine. We’ll go home after this. It’s my last mission ever,” he touched Jimin’s thigh. Jimin would find out later how fake the gesture was. “I’ll be back before you know it.”
He was gone for too long. Hwanjae had gone over the plan aloud a dozen times during the day. In the side entrance, a cut to the left, two levels down into their hideout. Hwanjae had an assistant that night, something that didn’t happen often.
The omega partner would be waiting to point out just how many targets.
Thirty minutes went by. Then forty. By fifty minutes Jimin was shaking all over. The ache began deep in his gut, spreading like wildfire as the minutes ticked by. By an hour’s time he was stumbling out of the car, doubled over in pain, vomiting on the ground.
Something was horribly wrong. He stood up and wiped the back of his hand across his lips. His left arm hugged his stomach. “Hwanjae!” he screamed.
There was no response. Jimin stifled a deep heave. His stomach was twisting like a vice grip. “Hwanjae!” he screamed again.
He fell to the ground when it happened. The shot rang out in the warehouse, but Jimin felt like the bullet went through his own heart. “HWANJAE!” he sobbed and curled in on himself.
He screamed as the bond was ripped out of him, along with the life of his first love. He screamed so loud he was found. He continued screaming when they took them. He sobbed until his body dried itself out.
Lee Hwanjae, the first love and bond of his life, was gone. A sacrifice for revealing him, Jimin belonged to his boss.
Years later, the ache of Hwanjae’s death felt fresh, but only in a way in which it mirrored his ache for Yoongi. The waves crashed in front of him, lapping at his toes on the shore. He’d been in Busan for a week now. He thought each day would be easier than the next.
He’d been wrong.
Jimin checked himself into a hotel near his old house. His family was gone from there by now, but he still worried at every corner he’d run into one of them. He went out only in the nighttime, grabbing food from convenience stores. He spent his days in the hotel bed.
The second day is when the ache began. At first it was just in his chest, like a winter cold. But it spread across his entire body like a tight thrum.
By the fifth day he couldn’t get up and around without soaking in the tub to loosen his muscles. The fever started on day six. He hadn’t felt that warmth in years since Hwanjae’s death.
Each activity left him almost breathless and covered in a sheen of sweat on his skin like a second layer. Not enough showers would cool him down. He knew what was to come after.
On day seven he found himself on the beach, allowing the cool Busan water to attempt to lower his body temperature. He wouldn’t be able to leave the hotel tomorrow, he knew the pain would be too much to withstand. Within a few hours time his heat would set in.
He missed Yoongi immensely. More than he’d missed Hwanjae in the freshest moments of his death. He spent every waking moment training to become his boss’ most prized assassin as repayment for Hwanjae’s failed mission.
But in the evening when he was alone in the one room apartment he called home for that year, he sobbed endlessly for the Alpha he used to love.
It was Taehyung who came to him once, telling him that what Hwanjae did wasn’t love. “Love is earned, he stole yours.”
Jimin allowed himself the reprieve to get over him during the next year, channeling each kill into the anger he had for what was taken from him and fighting for his freedom.
Min Yoongi was supposed to be his freedom. His largest and most important kill.
He found it easier not to directly think of the Alpha once he cleared him from his phone and files. He tapped in to clear the files from his boss’ devices as well. If she asked any questions…well he wasn’t answering texts or calls. Not even from Taehyung who called everyday.
He thought about throwing the phone in the water. Would disconnecting from everything and everyone completely make this thrum go away? Probably not.
Jimin’s stomach used to feel like butterflies when he looked at Yoongi. Now it was only bees. Each sting worse than the last, threatening to drag him under from their venom.
On day eight he woke up so sick he could barely get off the bathroom floor. He sobbed and writhed on the tile as the flames licked hot and slow beneath his skin. Yoongi. Yoongi. He wanted Yoongi so badly.
When he finally crawled, literally, back into the bed he spent over an hour slowly arranging each pillow and blanket meticulously to make himself comfortable. But each time he grew more and more frustrated that there was something missing. /Someone/ was missing.
He punched the pillows, throwing them down hard and flopping on them. He was sweating all over and each movement sent piercing pain through his body. He’d never experienced such pain like this before.
Late into the morning, Jimin started to lose consciousness, or more so break from reality. Each turn of his head left him dizzy and dazed. He awoke to his phone vibrating. He didn’t even know it was still on, he’d assumed it died long ago.
In a fit of misjudgment he answered. “Jimin? J-Jiminie, hello?” Yoongi.
Jimin's airway tightened with an impending sob. He pressed his mouth into a pillow.
“Jimin, baby, please,” Yoongi sounded so desperate. “Please come home, please,” he heard the tears in the Alpha’s voice. “Whatever happened, whatever I did, I promise,” he cleared his throat, “Jimin, I swear I’ll fix it. Please, everything hurts without you.”
Jimin’s sour scent flared around him. A closed-mouth scream bursted out of him as the heat ramped up. His stomach clenched and he had five seconds before he leaned over and was sick into the bin on the side of the bed.
Yoongi heard the sounds from the other end. “Jiminie, baby, please what’s going on? Where are you?” Jimin couldn’t bear the pain anymore. “B-Busan,” he sobs. “P-please come to me.” He lost consciousness.
Jimin awoke hours later in the worst haze of his life. It was like his body was fighting being alive. But the low rumble of a growl behind the hotel door caught his ear, the thing that had woken him in the first place. Yoongi.
The pounding picked up. “J-Jimin!” his voice was strained. “Jimin, please. I’ll break down the d-door if I have to.”
Limb by limb, Jimin pulled himself from the sweat-soaked sheets. He fell twice on the way, the pain from his heat still too much to handle. But there was an Alpha, his Alpha on the other side. He had to get to him.
With shaking hands he undid the lock, slick fingers slipping three times at the knob. By the time it was open, Yoongi was quivering with so much anticipation he threw the wooden door open.
Jimin's heat-filled scent began to suffocate him as he stepped in, pulling him into a bone crushing hug. He kicked the door closed behind him and held Jimin up as he sobbed.
“My omega,” Yoongi’s voice was low, a hum behind the final syllable. It took several breaths to restrain his instincts to pounce on Jimin immediately. “Explain.”
Jimin just pressed his nose harder into Yoongi’s scent gland, taking in citrus gulps. The ache was slowly starting to fade and his mind became clearer. His alpha was here.
“P-please,” Jimin whined. “Please help me.”
Yoongi was so gentle with him, even though his Alpha was telling him to be rough. He stroked and fucked and sucked until the late evening when the moon was low.
With each release Jimin became more and more lucid, thus more whiny, apologetic, and sorrowful.
“I-I’m terrified,” Jimin said finally after the heat had died down enough that he almost felt normal. “You’re going to hate me when I tell you what I’ve done.”
Yoongi made them shower first. He called for new bedding, robes, and food. He dressed Jimin and helped him make a nest for them to eat in. “There isn’t a thing in the world you could say or do that would make me hate you.” “We met because I was supposed to kill you.”
Despite the shocking statement, Yoongi stayed quiet. He allowed Jimin to explain the details all the way back to Hwanjae’s death and their bond. He was a sniffling mess by the end.
Yoongi still stroked his thumb softly across his wrist, emitting calming scents. “My father’s death was no accident,” he revealed. Jimin looked at him incredulously. “I always wondered if she might come for me.”
Jimin furrowed his brow. When he tried to scoot away to glance at Yoongi more fully, the Alpha just moved with him, wanting to be close.
He sighed. “It’s no secret that Honsool House operates in both the public and private sectors. The private sector, like Lavender, brings in more dangerous deals and company. My father,” Yoongi chowed on his bottom lip, “he thrived on the thrill.”
His fingers trailed over Jimin. His gaze was far off, staring out the open window where the moon shone brightly.
“I have an older sister. She was disowned when I was…nineteen?” Yoongi pondered. “Her name is now Kim Min-rae,” he sighed. “My father had her essentially erased from the family when they disowned her. She had a different kind of thrill that brought danger to us.”
“Now?” Jimin asked. He knew his boss’ name, heard Min-rae whispered in the darkest alcoves of her warehouse he trained in years ago. “I called her Noona Min Min, short for Min Mina.”
Jimin swallowed. He felt like he was going to be sick all over again. “I’m assuming she sent you after me. I’m assuming she won’t stop and let you out of your debt until I’m dead.”
Yoongi swore he wasn’t upset. “Debt is the most dangerous form of bondage, making slaves out of the free. You had no choice, you didn’t know what we would become,” Yoongi kissed his neck.
“You did?” Jimin asked, nuzzling his nose along his scent gland. How had he gone his whole life without him? Yoongi nodded against his hair. “From the moment I saw you, I felt you are me and I am you. Nothing else in this life makes sense when you’re not around.”
“I’m sorry,” Jimin kissed him softly. “I’m so sorry, please forgive me.” “There is nothing to forgive, my love,” he said, like a promise.
They mated in the last minutes of Jimin’s heat when they were both coherent and able to give full consent. When Yoongi sunk his teeth into Jimin’s scent gland, it felt different in a euphoric and pleasurable way, nothing at all like the shackles of Hwanjae’s mark.
When it was Jimin’s turn he asked Yoongi over and over and over again if it was what he wanted. “It’s you, forever. We’ll figure everything out after. I can’t go on any longer not being mated to you. Jimin, it is you who I’ll love for as long as my heart shall beat in my chest.”
They drifted off to sleep as the sun peeked over the horizon. Yoongi held him tight, afraid Jimin might slip away again. He promised they’d come up with a plan in the morning.
It was Taehyung who came up with the plan. Over wine and dinner one late night. He pressed against Jungkook on the couch, who he finally told everything to.
“We have to take her down,” Taehyung said to Yoongi and Jimin. He listened to the soft breathing of his sleeping daughter in the other room. “For my family and for the future of yours.”
Taehyung had been feeding false updates to Min-rae, posing as Jimin in the ten days he’d run away to Busan. She hadn’t suspected a thing.
They set the first trap at Lavender. Jimin said to her that he believed the time was getting close. “His power is growing, if you want it, we must work quickly.”
Two weeks went by of continuing to pretend to be Min-rae’s mole inside of Honsool House. Jimin fell into a routine with Yoongi. He’d wake up to him each morning, nosing along his skin until he’d plant his lips on top of his to wake him up.
Yoongi would chuckle and hug Jimin tight. They’d leave the house separately, in case Min-rae had either of them followed, but always meet up at the coffee shop. Seokjin grew to be one of their dearest friends as time went on, rooting for the couple he quite literally saw blossom.
Jimin would greet Hoseok kindly at Honsool House, enveloped in a hug that grew tighter as the days went on. Namjoon regarded him with pats on the back and praise during meetings.
“They know,” Jimin said one night as he traced the mark in Yoongi’s skin. Yoongi nodded. “I had to tell them, in case something goes wrong. Honsool House goes to them. They helped to build everything with me after my father’s death.”
Jimin whimpered. “Nothing can go wrong. I can’t lose you forever.” Yoongi kissed him long and full. “You won’t my darling.”
On the third Saturday in June, everything was set in motion. “I’ll do it in his home,” Jimin told her. “I’ll make it look like he succumbed to the pressure of the company.”
“I’ll arrive at exactly midnight for confirmation,” his boss directed. “You’ll be gone by then. I’ll deal with the body,” she said firmly. This one tactic in Min-rae’s web of a life led by deception and control would save them.
Jimin’s fingers shook, the vial almost slipping out of his hands. Yoongi grasped them tightly, bringing them to his lips. “It’s okay.” Jimin sniffled. “It’s not,” he sniffled. “I don’t want to kill you.”
Yoongi took a slow breath, the end coming out a soft chuckle. “Wasn’t that your goal all along?” Jimin shoved him with his forehead, pushing his back against the headboard.
“His heart can stop for five to ten minutes, it can’t be longer,” Taehyung had said when he gave Jimin the substance. “Jungkook and I will arrive right after. I’ll inject her myself, while he resuscitates Yoongi.” Jimin nodded. “What’s the catch, Tae?”
He gnawed on his lip. Over the years that they’d been able to grow to know each other, Park Jimin was Taehyung’s third favorite person. Fourth, with their conceived pup on the way. All the same, he was like a younger brother. A younger brother who deserved the truth.
“You might not be able to survive the breaking of a second bond, especially the bond of a fated mate.”
Jimin hadn’t been for sure, but he knew he might not come out of this. All that mattered to him was that Yoongi did. “Don’t tell him,” he made Taehyung promise. “He’ll never let us go through with it if he knows I might die.”
“I’ll come to you as soon as I know Min-rae is taken care of,” Taehyung promised. “I won’t let you die, Jimin.”
Jimin pressed his lips to Yoongi’s one last time. “I love you,” he bit back a sob. Yoongi brushed the tear from his cheek. “And I you,” he gave a soft smile. “Go ahead.”
Jimin’s breath came out in soft pants. He dropped the needle accidently, hands far too shaky to hold on. Yoongi helped him, guiding him to the spot just below his mating mark. “It’s okay,” he nodded. “I’ll see you soon my love.”
- now -
Jimin looks through the doorway of the bedroom.
He runs from the apartment as fast as he can, the alpha’s scent clinging to his nose. He whimpers as he gets to the alley, a budding sob in the back of his throat.
He wonders how long it will take for him to die. He wonders how badly it will hurt when their bond breaks. They say it’s insufferable. He hopes it is, it’s what he deserves.
He has to make it to Yoongi on time to save him. His heart might not stop for good. Jimin falls into the ground, curling in on himself. He screams until he passes out. Yoongi’s kind smile is the last thing he remembers.
Loving Park Jimin is like coming up for air, Yoongi thinks. The last seven years of his life had been filled with nothing but grief, strife, and pain, until he spilled his coffee on the young omega in the coffee shop.
Yoongi awakes with a start, Jungkook pressing harshly into his chest to restart his heart. But it’s not the pain of the compressions that threatens to take him out. It’s the ache he feels spread throughout his body as his bond registers the absence of his mate in this world.
The minutes that follow are the most excruciating minutes of Yoongi’s life. Min-rae, Mina, his Noona Min Min lay dead in front of him. A soul lost long ago, but the grief, the reality that he couldn’t save her from herself and her greed doesn’t hurt him any less.
It’s quickly clouded by Jimin’s death.
