That's incorrect, Jeff. Permanent air compression does not cause a permanent temperature increase.

If your car or bicycle has a flat tire, and you pump it up, compression of the air will noticeably warm the air & tire. But if you check it the next day you'll find that the compressed air (and the tire) will be back at ambient temperature, because permanent air compression does not cause a permanent temperature increase.
