I might invite the cartoonist to perhaps consider how the pointy thing on the end of the WWI infantryman's rifle is used.
War has become more destructive over time, but the horror of battle has always been with us, since Epizelus was struck blind and even before.
War is never pretty, which is why it is important to oppose and condemn leaders like Putin and countries like Russia which start wars of conquest.
If we want less war, regimes like that must be defeated, so their example will not be followed.
