We're proud to share w/you all our 4:3 4K scan of the 1st reel of "Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13," scanned from a 35mm film print courtesy of @Space Merle! Just like Bojack only 1 reel was able to be saved sadly, but we packed this with goodies! Read on! https://nyaa.si/view/1869569

The reel covers the first ~20min of the movie, and is likely sourced from FUNimation's film materials. Unfortunately, the other reels were missing. According to @Space Merle they were thrown away along with dozens of other films when Allied Vaughn’s Dallas office closed ~2008/09.

Thanks to a miracle we were able to save that Bojack reel from a while ago, & now this! And thanks to it being the first reel of the movie, we now have a pristine 35mm transfer of the opening! We have now scanned at least one variant of every single Dragon Ball opening animation!

But that's not all! We were able to save even more treasures from Texas! Thanks to @Saiyanbeast, we just so happened to have access to what was likely the Music & Effects magnetic audio reel sent to FUNimation for dubbing. Even more lucky, it was the exact same reel as the film!

Thanks to that, we are including two additional audio tracks on our release: The full music & effects track (no dialogue!) and a music-only track from the same mag source. Check out some clips!

Also thanks to those materials, @ΝΑΠΠΑ was able to create an all-new stereo mix, improving the sound quality & punch over the existing mono mix. Listen for yourself! Of course, this release also includes both the OG mix from the JP Blu-ray & the optical audio from the reel!

Also included are every version of FUNi's ENG dub (OG & remastered, US & JP OSTs), AB's Big Green dub, Speedy's Malaysian-English dub, LATAM Spanish dub, & the aforementioned M&E+Music-Only tracks! Also full English subtitles! Thanks to @Seed of Might for their contributions here!

We're always so glad to be able to share treasures like this w/the community in their proper quality in 4:3 & without the egregious filtering we've come to expect from this franchise. Again, it's a shame only 1 reel could be salvaged, but we hope you enjoy all the same!
