The government approved $40B in spending from April 1 - May 15 through a special warrant.
This was done because Parliament is prorogued and it’s not possible to make appropriations.
The only information shared with Canadians is a list of departments and the total amount.
According to the document, “the appropriate Ministers have reported that the payment of these sums is urgently required for the public good”.
