1/ The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Mikhail Gudkov, may have inadvertently revealed his position in an insecure radio call, enabling Ukraine to kill him on Wednesday. Ukraine may also have tried to assassinated him on 30 May near Vladivostok. 
2/ Gudkov was reported to have been killed on 2 July at Korenevo in the Kursk region by a Ukrainian missile strike. The VChK-OGPU Telegram channel reports that the general may have inadvertently given away his own position to Ukrainian signals interception.
3/ The channel reports that according to an account that is circulating, on 2 May "Vladivostok celebrated its City Day. The military, including Mikhail Gudkov, while in the Kursk region, could call each other and exchange congratulations over an unprotected connection."
4/ "Thus revealing themselves and becoming a target for a missile strike."
It also reports that two explosions on 30 May near Vladivostok, attributed to a Ukrainian sabotage attack, may have also targeted Major General Gudkov.

Russian media report explosions in Russian Vladivostok in the area of a marine training ground.
It is reported that the road in the area of the incident was blocked, eyewitnesses reported a helicopter flying over the site. Special and emergency services arrived at the scene, and the area was cordoned off. Details of the incident remain undisclosed.
According to some local residents, drones were reportedly spotted.
However, the regional Anti-Terrorist Commission reported that the "threat" had been neutralized and a "set of security measures" had been implemented. Russian Telegram channels wrote that two vehicles covered with tarpaulin were at the site.
According to open sources, Desantnaya Bay may be a training ground for the Russian Pacific Fleet marines. It is involved in the fighting in Ukraine.
5/ The Kyiv Independent reported that a source in Ukraine's military intelligence agency HUR told it that an attack was carried out against a checkpoint and "the location of personnel and the unit's command". However, the exact nature of the target was not disclosed.
6/ According to the VChK-OGPU Telegram channel, the target may have been Major General Mikhail Gudkov, who was promoted to the post of the Russian Navy's Deputy Commander-in-Chief after commanding the 155ths Guards Naval Infantry Brigade, based in Desantnaya Bay.
7/ Russia seemingly tried to cover up the attack, which was likely highly embarassing for the authorities, given that it was 9,000 km away from Ukraine. It was officially attributed to "the ignition of cylinders with a propane-butane mixture in one of the cars".
8/ However, the security forces' response was very abnormal for such a scenario. Tight restrictions were put on local employees and officials, riot police and medical teams were sent to secure the site, and the Investigative Committee (Russia's FBI) began an investigation.
9/ VChK-OGPU reports that Gudkov was known to have been "there very often", which suggests that Ukraine had detailed knowledge of his movements when it carried out the attack. The Russians claimed that the explosions had not caused any casualties.
10/ The fact that Gudkov seems to have been targeted again only a few weeks later, this time successfully, suggests that Ukraine considered him to be a high-value target and had continued to track him across Russia. /end
