Today, @VoW Silla & @ExWren are in court reporting on the trial of @Tommy Robinson 🇬🇧. Here you will get all the updates as and when they come in. 1. Court in progress. Defence: TR has received 12 Osman warnings where there has been threats to his life via online videos. Defense submitting a request that all personal details be ommitted to not be leaked to the press.

2. Court reading out charges. Prosecutor: 28th July 2024. Officer pulled TR over, in a silver Bentley and asked about his reason for travel? The officer had doubt of his reason for travel.

3. Officer explained his right and obligations and he was given a copy. His apple iPhone was seized. And refused to give his pin as it contained journalist material. TR requested legal advice. He was warned that he will be arrested if he continues to refuse his assistance

4. prosecutor continues: if he failed to comply it will turn into a criminal offense. During the examination, he complied with biometrics and photos. And was again for the person details of his phone of which was declined again. Where he was then arrested.

5. TR was taken to Folkstone police station. When asked again for his info TR replied: "not a chance" Police officer explained there are procedures to protect journalistic materials. TR replied: "I am not going to give you my pin code, so if it means you charge me with the terrorist act. Then let it be so. It is my work, I work for Urban Scoop, I can give you my boss number." He answered his bail and was asked to attend court.

6. Police officer on witness stand who pulled over TR at the booth in Euro tunnel pulled states that he did so because it was unusual to see a Bentley in the Euro tunnel and it was unusual to purchase a ticket on the day. @VoW Silla @ExWren @Daniel ShenSmith (BlackBeltBarrister)

7. The police officer in question has only been serving 14 months.

9. Defense asked officer if he knew it was TR approaching the booth Officer confirmed he wasn't 100% sure but thought it was him

10. Defense referred to the witness statement. Nothing the officer never had to do one before. The statement didn't have a date or time commuting very important information

11. Defense asked what power did the officer have to to ask TR to park and wait for 20min while checks were being made? Officer questioned the word: "power?"

12. Paragraph 31 and schedule 7 states that TR should have been informed that he was being examined and checks are being done. Defense also noted how they made a high profile person to wait In a bay when TR could have left as he was only told to wait.

13. Defense asked officer why he asked TR to move to bay 5 when he wasn't sure it was him?

14. Defense asked the officer what happened during the 20min you asked TR to just wait? Officer replied: we were doing checks with partner agencies.

15. Defence: When the Bentley pulled up you spend 38 seconds with TR. And asked him one question: "where are you going?"

16. Defense: are you aware that TR travels to Benedorm, Tenerife, Allecante quite frequently? Why stop him at this time to do checks? Officer replied, that he may travel to those places often but not by this means (the Euro tunnel)

17. Defence: On your third statement you mentioned the EDL. Did you know the EDL dispanted 10 years ago? EDL is being referenced as a reason why you detained him. Does the law not state you have to act in good faith to determine if someone is a terrorist or not?

18: defense continued to ask what type of questions was asked in order to come to the conclusion to apply the terrorism act? Officer: I can't remember what I asked him. And nothing is noted in the statement. Defence asked for the officer what topics were discussed and he replied: what his thoughts were on the UK, Religion, News.

19. Officer asked to step down as a witness

20. Second officer takes the stand. Officer was explaining how upon interviewing he asked TR to bring his phone. TR said: No Office then took the phone and asked for the pin. TR declined giving it. The phone was then placed in a box where it will essentially be on flight mode.

21. Prosecution didn't have many questions apart from phone and pin and we all know the answer to that. TR didn't give it up. But defense continued with officer

22. Officer 2 was in a different booth at the time of the incident Defense asked officer 2 if he was aware that TR has been asked to wait and if he. Was aware how long he has been waiting. Officer 2 wasn't aware that TR was in the booth or asked to wait and couldn't recall how long he was waiting. Officer 2 couldn't recall much and didn't know the answer to many questions often starting with: *I vaguely remember...."

23. Defense asked officer 2 if he knew when the EDL dispanded at the time of the interview with TR took place. He replied I didn't know. Defense continued: In the interview at the time of being detained and questioned: TR asked officer 2 when the EDL dispanded and defence stated, in this interview, officer 2 said: 15 years ago. So, he did know

24. Officer two confirmed that he was pulled over as he was driving a Bentley not belonging to him and that his Ticket was bought on the day.

25. Prosecutor took the opportunity to ask another question about the purchasing of a ticket in advance and the officer confirmed that when you buy a ticket in advance passenger information is required but not when you buy it at the gate/on the day.

26. Judge has now made any live updates from court “contempt of court”. We see MSM giving live updates from other cases regularly. What makes this case any different? Why are processes always different when it comes to @Tommy Robinson 🇬🇧 ?
