Like Morten Hjulmand, Silas Andersen is a product of FCK's academy. Inter saw a light in Andersen and signed him in 2021... But it wasn't until years later that he really broke through as a senior. He joined BK Häcken in 2025, became a star from day 1 and won the Cup.

Importantly, there are many similarities between the two personality-wise. Andersen comes across as a very confident individual and grabbed headlines when he pretended not to know Malmö FF's captain Pontus Jansson. Silas Andersen has mainly played as a holding midfielder for BK Häcken but he also been used in their central defense many times. He plays much like Hjulmand and has many touches per game while agressively protecting the backline.

As mentioned, both are aggressive off the ball and do not back down from a duel. While Hjulmand’s percentages are higher, Silas Andersen engages in more duels per game averaging +8.

Both have a solid technical foundation and mainly progress the ball through passing, but Silas Andersen could definitely develop into a better ball-carrier. He is taller, has longer strides and attempts more take-ons.

Their defensive territories are very, very similar meaning Silas Andersen's transition should be fairly straight-forward if he joins Sporting. Most of his responsibilites at BK Häcken would be the same at Sporting.

Don't expect tons of goals or late runs into the box from Silas Andersen. He stays further back and instead offers himself as a passing option. His shooting volume per 90 is close to Hjulmand's but his height is an advantage for set-pieces.

An underrated, and to some, annoying, aspect of Morten Hjulmand’s game is his ability to draw fouls. Silas Andersen has that exact same ability, drawing more than 3.5 fouls per game. Again, to some, an annoying trait, but it is invaluable to a team.
