Kim Lip Instagram Story
The theme of the show is going over memories/stories with photos from the past
1. This one was meaningful as she took this just before Eclipse came out
- The host remembers LOONA debuting, seeing all the banner ads around Seoul
Speaking of school days: In elementary school she was in girl scouts, though she says just about everyone was back then. Though for her back then it was more about the romanticization of wearing the scouts uniform, she didn't really do the outdoor activities
In middle school: she lied to her mom about going to school one day and went to Seoul alone to audition for Hanlim Arts school (as she lived outside of Seoul at the time, in Cheongju). She told her mom after she got in and though her parents opposed the career idea at first, she thinks the surprise message might've been more impactful looking back, as she was more of a quiet/introverted kid who did what she was told, and didn't really talk about doing things like this. In the end her mom moved up to Seoul with Lip as she attended Hanlim.
Trainee life: She says though she was only a trainee for 1.5 years, it felt much longer as the debut system the agency had for trainees was really competitive in nature
Audition Tips? The hardest thing is finding something that really fits you as a person, not doing the song/dance that everyone else is doing.
Though at the time when she passed auditions, she was performing Into the New world by SNSD and the popular ballad On The Street by Navi; that was more so because after going through so many auditions, she was tired of it all

The MV shoot is still vividly memorable for Lip. It was really messy there; especially the restroom was shocking, the worst bathroom she's ever seen. As it was an abandoned site technically, she thinks that must've been something like a temporary setup
She remembers how everyone there like staff as well weren't drinking much water that day
Distinguishing factors of ARTMS from LOONA?
Lip says the biggest difference would definitely be having way fewer members, but a lot of people still remember them as LOONA to this day. What she wants to show as ARTMS: A deeper connection to the music, they participate more in the song-making process now.
Instruments: none now honestly. But when she was young she liked dipping her toes in all sorts of things, like horseriding, pansori (trad. musical storytelling), gayageum (trad. stringed instrument), ballet. Things that people typically wouldn't get into.
Q: And nowadays? Nowadays she's into exercise
Pic 3: She thinks this is from ARTMS' first concert, with the lunch support project from fans
With ARTMS the members are more involved with their music. How'd she get into writing lyrics?
Having performed many songs provided to them as an idol she developed the idea of delivering her own stories or messages over time.
Q: Favorite lines you've written?
- Can You Entertain as of recent
- Though the lyrics that she most wanted to deliver to listeners when writing is Playback by LOONA. Times were hard back then and she wrote the lyrics while looking back at their story so far. The lyrics were simple but she thinks they were effective in conveying the message she had in mind
Can You Entertain was her first solo in a very long time, so she wanted to make it the best she could, with even 3-4 full re-recordings, so she's very glad that fans liked it so much

Upcoming plans?
Comeback is coming soon now, at long last. Shares schedule, the prerelease is on July 24 and the album release is August 7
A thing to look forward to in this album?
Lip mentions the choreo which is really grueling, it always has them really out of breath
Outro song, picked by Lip: Baek Yerin - His ocean
