i think i owe everyone an explanation before anything else i want to say who i really am because a lot of people only knew me from the last few weeks and started judging me without knowing anything about me a few months ago i was just another guy scrolling through twitter like everyone else then i came across gezines post about the ps4 exploit it caught my attention because i had an old ps4 sitting in a drawer for years i never even played it anymore because i simply dont have the time i have a family i have responsibilities and im a father of 4 kids so free time is something i rarely get i turned the console on just to see what firmware it was running and it turned out to be 12.50 which happened to be vulnerable so i bought the bd-r needed for the exploit just like everyone else did i never started this because i wanted fame or money or attention i simply wanted to understand how sonys system works ive spent many years doing reverse engineering and low level research so naturally i started looking deeper into sonys libraries their modules and how everything was built while researching i found out that sony relies heavily on freebsd and that immediately felt familiar because years ago i spent a long time working with freebsd especially freebsd 9 while developing for metin2 servers so i already had a good understanding of the operating system and how a lot of its internals work that made it much easier for me to start reading the source code comparing changes looking through github and understanding how sony adapted freebsd into orbis honestly i fell in love with the research side of it there is so much information and so many interesting things to reverse engineer that i completely lost track of time then one day my nephew updated my ps4 without me knowing from 12.50 all the way to 13.50 and at first i was honestly upset because i thought all the fun was over instead of giving up i started looking into newer firmware and eventually shifted my focus toward kernel research by the grace of god i managed to discover my first kernel vulnerability and from that moment i became even more interested in continuing this path today i deleted every single post from my account except the proof because over the last few weeks i realized something that honestly disappointed me the amount of toxicity harassment accusations and personal attacks directed at people who spend their own time and money trying to contribute something to the community is unbelievable i buy my own hardware i buy my own consoles i spend countless hours reversing firmware testing ideas reading source code and debugging things that most people never even see and somehow thats rewarded with insults fake accusations and constant drama i finally understand why developers like gezine and many others prefer to stay quiet and work in private instead of sharing every little bit of progress publicly i also want to apologize to anyone i argued with over the past few weeks if i ever responded emotionally or offended anyone that wasnt the kind of person i wanted to be and i genuinely apologize to the people i promised would be the first testers i havent forgotten about you my word means everything to me and when everything is ready i will contact you privately exactly like i promised as for the research itself everything is currently waiting on a newer kernel vulnerability once that part is solved god willing ill finish what i promised which is bringing a new jailbreak to 13.52 after that i honestly think ill stop doing public research completely and keep everything private because what ive experienced over the last few weeks made me realize that sharing publicly simply isnt worth it for me anymore finally to everyone who donated to support me thank you from the bottom of my heart i truly appreciate every single one of you but if after everything thats happened you would rather have your money back just send me a message and ill refund you no questions asked thank you to everyone who believed in me supported me encouraged me or simply followed my journey i appreciate every single one of you more than you know
