Mailers promoting Roy Cooper over Michael Whatley are showing up all over NC from the Center for Voter Information. Here is who is sending them. #nsen #ncpol

Center for Voter Information (CVI) is a 501(c)(4). CVI's 2024 990 showed over $37.443M in revenue with heavy support for Democratic campaigns and orgs. It is linked to the Voter Participation Center (VPC), a 501(c)(3) known for sending pre-filled voter registration mailings. Their 2024 IRS filing listed over $57.968M in revenue. These two orgs share an office in Washington, D.C., staff, administrative costs, and have the same President & CEO (Thomas Lopach), as well as some of the same board members, many of whom have links to progressive causes and Democrat groups. CVI is the former Women’s Voices Women Vote Action Fund. VPC is the former Women’s Voices Women Vote. Both claim to be "nonpartisan" and focus on "voter registration" and "turnout" among the “New American Majority," that incl. unmarried women, people of color, and young people.
Founder Page Gardner is a longtime Democratic strategist who worked on Bill Clinton’s 1992 campaign and unironically focused on unmarried women. Current Pres./CEO Tom Lopach has a career almost entirely in Democratic politics: Chief of Staff to Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) Exec. Director of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chief of Staff to Montana Gov. Steve Bullock (D) Plus roles with Ted Kennedy, and others. Clinton confidant John Podesta was also in the mix in these organizations' earlier boards.
