#Taekook college AU! Jungkook has been crushing on his senior, Taehyung, for as long as he can remember. When he finally gathers up the courage to flirt with the man, things don’t quite go as he had expected.

This AU will be a mix of social media posts and writing! Please also ignore the dates and times in the posts :)
Profiles! Jungkook and his friends. Kook is a popular video game streamer to help pay for college!
Taehyung and his friends. Jimin is also Tae’s best friend!
Jungkook swallows past the lump in his throat as he slips his phone into the pocket of his hoodie. Taehyung has settled into a table across from him, putting down his coffee and pulling out a laptop. Jungkook pulls himself out of his chair and begins to approach the other man.
He schools his expression into one of confidence as he gets closer, shoving his hands into his pockets to hide how they're shaking. Taehyung has just opened his laptop when Jungkook stops beside him. He clears his throat, causing Taehyung to startle, jerking in his seat.
"Hi." Jungkook murmurs quietly as Taehyung looks up at him with wide eyes. "Is this seat taken?" Before waiting for an answer, Jungkook slides into the chair next to him, turning to the man to give him a bright smile. "You're Taehyung, right?"
He asks the question as if he doesn't already know. Taehyung is still staring at him, and Jungkook shifts under his gaze. "U-uh, I uh, I seem to have lost my phone number. Can I have yours?" The words slip from his lips before he can think, and he bites his lip as hard as he can.
Taehyung's eyes widen even further. Jungkook opens his mouth to speak again, but is interrupted as the man beside him suddenly shoots to his feet. He watches in defeat as Taehyung turns and, wordlessly, walks away. Jungkook looks helplessly between him and his laptop, left alone.
The aftermath. Jungkook texts Yoongi for advice.
Jungkook then texts Jimin, while Taehyung texts Seokjin. (Typo: He didn’t say his name*)
Mistakes were made...
Jimin is playing both sides
Jungkook has a plan 👀
That's all for now, it's almost 7am and I haven't slept yet asghdgkl
Taehyung gets a message, and then begins a witch hunt
The messages keep coming, and Namjoon never agreed to this
Jimin explains, and Taekook come to a decision
Someone’s excited and Namjoon REALLY didn’t agree to this
Twitter updates: everyone is a disaster gay
The final countdown
The coffee shop is small and cute. It's popular with the local college students, but not as popular as the Starbucks down the road, and that's exactly why Jungkook chose this place to meet. It could easily make the perfect atmosphere for a date, which this wasn't. Yet.
The door chimes as he steps inside, the barista behind the counter turning to smile at him. He's a regular here, and the barista is cute, and under any other circumstances Jungkook would stop to talk. But his eyes scan the small crowd, looking for the one person he's here for.
His gaze settles on a familiar set of shoulders and soft, styled hair and his heart skips a beat. Taehyung is sitting in the back, taking a corner table away from the crowd, his back to the door. He's hunched over, completely absorbed in whatever he's doing.
Jungkook approaches him, his hands wrapped securely around the silver laptop in his hands. With each step, his heart hammers harder in his chest, and he swears it could jump from his rib cage at any second. He arrives at Taehyung's side, and the other man still hasn't noticed.
"T-Taehyung?" The other man stiffens at his name, turning familiar wide eyes up to meet Jungkook's gaze, looking beautiful in the soft golden lights of the cafe. Jungkook smiles at him softly, a flush rising to his cheeks. "Hi. It's Jungkook."
Jungkook glances to the lone seat across from Taehyung. "Is this seat taken?" And just like last time, without waiting for a response, he slides into the other chair and turns to Taehyung. He's still looking at Jungkook with wide eyes, his phone gripped tightly in his fingers.
"This... isn't going to be a repeat of last time, is it?" Jungkook asks with a forced nonchalance, leaning back in the chair and rubbing nervously at the back of his neck. Taehyung's cheeks redden under his gaze. "Uh--No. No, I hope not." He finally speaks, his voice quiet.
Taehyung giggles, the sound sudden between them. Jungkook watches, mesmerised, as Taehyung puts his phone away and gives Jungkook a warm smile. "I'm... really sorry about earlier. I, uh, really wasn't expecting that to happen." His smile turns sheepish, but he's still glowing.
Jungkook frowns, scrambling. "It's okay! It's fine." He shifts forward, placing the laptop between them. "I'm really sorry if I made you uncomfortable. I really didn't mean to--The pick up line was so bad, and I probably came on too much, and it was overwhelming--"
"No!" Taehyung's eyes are wide again, and he also leans in. "You were fine! I was really awkward, just walking away like that, it was really stupid of me. I'm sorry! I shouldn't have done that, and I just left all my stuff behind too--ugh." He slumps against the table. "Sorry."
"I'm sorry too." Jungkook says, then he coughs awkwardly, a small, teasing smile making its way to his lips. "I, uh... drank your coffee." Taehyung jerks up, staring at Jungkook incredulously. "You what? Why?"
"It was free coffee! And you just left it there!" Taehyung giggles again, the sound diffusing the remaining tension between the two. "Any normal person would have just thrown it away, you know." Jungkook just shrugs, unabashed. "Recycling?"
"So, Jungkook, I believe you have something for me?" Taehyung prompts. Jungkook nods, pushing the laptop over from his side of the table. Taehyung grabs it, looking between it and Jungkook. "Yes! One laptop, as requested."
"Thank you." Taehyung looks up at Jungkook then, fluttering his lashes. "And I also believe a certain someone owes me another coffee." His tone is playful, and Jungkook's mind stutters to a stop under his gaze. "U-uh, yes. Right. Yes. I can do that." Taehyung giggles again.
Jungkook buys them coffee, and also buys Taehyung a blueberry muffin, which makes the other light up completely as he thanks Jungkook. The weather outside changes from a sharp chill to a light drizzle of rain as they talk, time slipping away around them, warm in the cafe.
Eventually, Taehyung checks his phone and frowns up at Jungkook. "Ah, I'm sorry Jungkook, I have to go. I have class soon." "Oh." A rush of disappointment overwhelms him, settling uncomfortably in his stomach. "I'm sorry for keeping you so long. I didn't even realise..."
"Neither did I." Taehyung admits. He stands, securing his laptop under his arm. Jungkook stands too, his hands awkwardly resting by his sides. "I'm--I had fun. Just now." Jungkook says quietly. Taehyung smiles at him. "Me too."
"Whatever happened earlier... I'm glad it turned out this way." Taehyung continues, causing Jungkook's cheeks to redden. "This is the part where I would normally give you my number, but..." Taehyung trails off, laughing. "Jimin beat me to it."
"Well, I'm happy he did." Jungkook admits, rubbing at his wrists nervously. Taehyung's laugh settles into a warm smile as he takes Jungkook in completely. He reaches out, placing his hand over Jungkook's own, and squeezing slightly. "Text me later. I'd love to see you again."
And Jungkook watches, stuck mute, as Taehyung giggles again, hurrying out of the small cafe and into the grey streets outside.

Fast forward to Friday night!
Everyone is excited for them
It's cold outside, the streets shining with a fresh layer of ice and the air pricking at the exposed parts of Jungkook's skin. He buries his hands further into the pockets of his hoodie as he walks towards the address Taehyung had sent him, a ball of nerves settling inside him.
They had continued to text during the build up to tonight, and he had gotten used to waking up to texts from Taehyung with different versions of "Good Morning!" sent to him, often followed by a string of emojis.
Jungkook never imagined he would ever be here, texting back and forth with Taehyung and finding himself going to meet with the other man for a date. A date. /With Kim Taehyung/. The thought still sends a thrill down his spine. He's going on a date with Taehyung!
He catches the name of the restaurant at the end of the street, the neon sign bright in the darkening streets. His palms start to feel sticky in his pockets, so he pulls his hands out and wipes them on his jeans. He's definitely underdressed.
He approaches the door of the restaurant and peeks inside the glass, seeing the place packed with people already, and tables lines with food that makes his mouth water. It's an upscale barbeque place, one he wouldn't normally go to on his own. It definitely looks nice inside.
He takes a deep breath before pushing the door open, instantly being hit with warmth and noise as he steps inside. He pulls off his beanie and face mask, stuffing them in his pockets, and smoothes out his hair before he smiles at the waiting Host.
"Hello, uh... reservation under Kim Taehyung?" He asks. The host nods. "Right this way, sir." He follows the host through the restaurant and towards the back of the open area. The host stops, gesturing to a table already seating one. "Here you are, sir." "Thank you."
Taehyung looks up at the sound of voices, and Jungkook meets his gaze, a wide smile breaking across his lips. "Jungkook!" Taehyung greets as Jungkook slides into the seat across from him. "Hey, Taehyung." Jungkook matches Taehyung's warm smile.
Taehyung takes him in, and a pout takes over his expression. "I thought I told you to dress nicely!" Jungkook laughs at this expression, his hands coming up to play with the ends of his hair. "Sorry, Tae. I don't own anything nicer than this."
Taehyung laughs then too. "No, it's fine. We're here for barbeque, not fine dining." Taehyung winks at him. "Maybe next time though." Jungkook flushes, stomach flipping at the possibility of a next time. The date has barely started and yet he can't wait to see Taehyung again.
A waiter approaches them, and they order their drinks. "Have you been here before?" Jungkook asks. Taehyung nods. "I come here a lot, actually. It's one of my favourite places." He laughs. "I know my order off by heart, even." Jungkook purses his lips, eyes flashing.
"What if you let me order for us tonight then? Let it be a new experience." He offers, and Taehyung squints at him slightly before his face lights up. "Sure! Surprise me, Jeon Jungkook. I'm open to anything." The waiter returns with their drinks, and Jungkook begins to order.
The waiter leaves and Jungkook catches Taehyung's gaze. Taehyung is smirking at him. "Are you sure that's what you want?" Jungkook nods. "Of course. I ordered it, didn't I?" Taehyung grins. "This date just got interesting."
The waiter returns with their banchan, placing all the dishes over their table, covering almost every available surface. The waiter also makes sure the grill, which is built in to the middle of the table, is set up and heated. Jungkook's stomach rumbles and he grins at Taehyung.
Finally, the meat arrives. The waiter places each meat strip onto the grill before Jungkook waves him away. "It's okay, I can take it from here." The waiter bows as he leaves. Taehyung raises an eyebrow. "Trying to impress me with your cooking skills?" Jungkook snorts.
"Hardly. Grilling meat isn't that hard." "Oh, I'm swooning already~" Taehyung slouches back into his seat, his hand coming to his forehead dramatically. Jungkook just laughs, using his chopsticks to flip the meat. It sizzles invitingly. "Stop, before you hurt yourself."
Taehyung laughs too, resuming his normal posture. "I'm so happy you care, Jungkookie~" Jungkook chokes at the nickname, dropping the meat he was holding. "Only my mum calls me that!" He blurts. Taehyung's eyes widen. "Oh my god. Jungkookie~!" He coos, voice rising.
"Stop it, or I'll stop cooking!" Taehyung snaps his mouth shut instantly, eyes comically wide as Jungkook tries to keep up a stern expression. He fails miserably, lips melting into a soft smile, a blush rising on his cheeks. "But... I guess it's cute when you say it."
Jungkook continues grilling the meat, trying to ignore Taehyung as he coos at him across the table. "I can't believe you're the same Jungkook that fucked someone in a park!" Jungkook actually drops his chopsticks onto the grill. "W-what?!"
He scrambles to pick the chopsticks up without burning his own fingers. He glances up to Taehyung, who is smirking at him. "Jimin told me." "Yah, Park Jimin." Jungkook grumbles, finally grabbing the chopsticks again, managing to not burn himself on the grill.
"He has a lot of interesting stories about you~" "Park Jimin needs to shut his mouth and never speak again." Jungkook stabs at the meat. "He said the other guy came to class the next day actually limping--" "The meat is done!" Jungkook announces loudly.
Jungkook's face is flaming, and Taehyung is just giving him a satisfied grin. "Good. I'm starving." There's a glint in his eye, and Jungkook swallows thickly. "Since I cooked, you should have the first bite." Jungkook says, pushing away his nerves. Two can play at this game.
Jungkook gathers a strip of meat with his chopsticks and holds it up. "You should tell me what you think." Jungkook says, offering the meat at the end of his chopsticks to Taehyung. "Tell me if I'm a good cook." Taehyung's grin fades, but the glint in his eye does not.
"Seems fair." Taehyung leans forward, opening his mouth slightly. Jungkook pushes the meat between Taehyung's lips, the edge catching on his bottom lip and smearing some of the marinade. Taehyung slowly closes his mouth around the meat, his eyes locked with Jungkook's.
"Ah, shit! Taehyung cries, pulling back and slapping his hand over his mouth. Jungkook jumps at the sudden curse. "Fuck, Jungkook, that's spicy!" Oh. Shit. That's right, he'd ordered the extra spicy beef. Taehyung is bouncing in his seat, face turning red.
"Pass me the--the thing--" Taehyung is making grabby hands at him, and Jungkook takes a moment to register where he's reaching, before grabbing the carton of 쿨피스 and passing it to Taehyung. Taehyung just drinks directly from the carton. Jungkook starts to laugh.
"You--Your face, Taehyung, oh my god, you--" Jungkook dissolves into giggles as Taehyung gulps down his drink, before finally setting it down on the table and taking in short, deep breaths. "Jungkook, I swear to god, that it the worst thing I have ever tasted."
Jungkook continues to laugh. Taehyung's face is still bright red, and he glares at Jungkook, still breathing carefully. "I can't believe you fed that to me!" Jungkook snorts. Taehyung's glare turns wicked. "Now it's your turn."
Jungkook tries to compose himself as Taehyung grabs at a slice of meat with his own chopsticks. "No, Taehyung, I'm not eating that." "You don't have a choice, Jungkook! You have to experience this!" Taehyung leans across the table, and Jungkook leans away. "No."
"You're the one who ordered it!" Taehyung exclaims, getting up slightly to lean even further over. Jungkook scrambles to the other side of the seat to get away. "No, nope, not happening." "Are you telling me the great Jeon Jungkook is... is a loser?" Taehyung gasps, wide eyed.
"A loser?!" "Yes! I'm the only one who even tried the meat, so that automatically makes me the winner." Taehyung sits back in his seat, smug, and pops the meat on his chopsticks into his mouth. He seems to regret it immediately, desperately reaching again for the 쿨피스.
Once he's composed himself, he gives Jungkook a triumphant grin. "That's 2-0, Jungkookie. Looks like I'm beating you~" Jungkook settles back into his original spot, grabbing for his chopsticks and reaching for the meat on the rack. "Fine. Prepare to be vaporized, Kim Taehyung."
Vaporized is the exact word Jungkook would use to describe his taste buds right now. The two of them somehow demolish the rack of spicy meat, and have finished their second carton of 쿨피스 too. Both boys are red faced and sweating, but not in the way Jungkook would prefer.
Jungkook is panting into his glass when Taehyung finally breaks. "Okay! Alright! I give in! You win!" He exclaims dramatically, slumping into his seat. Jungkook grins, though he doesn't even have the energy to keep it up as he gulps more of his drink. "I told you." He mumbles.
"I should have known not to challenge the great Jungkook." Taehyung grins, before frowning as he shifts in his seat. "God, I'm going to regret eating that tomorrow." Jungkook chokes on his drink, coughing through a laugh. "It'll all be worth it, I promise."
"Why is that?" Taehyung asks, gazing across at Jungkook curiously. Jungkook places his glass down and gives Taehyung a grin. "Winners always get a prize, right?" Taehyung nods slowly. "Good. Because I have an idea of what I want mine to be."
Taehyung raises his eyebrows. "What do you want?" Jungkook shakes his head. "Not yet, Taehyung. I'll claim it later." Taehyung squints at Jungkook's expression before sighing. "Alright, Jungkookie. I'll be patient." Jungkook smirks. "Good."
They finish off the side dishes a little slower, able to talk together now that they're not choking on spice. The night winds on later and later until Jungkook can't ignore the way they're both yawning at every few words. "Let me take the bill."
"No." Taehyung protests immediately. "I asked you out. Plus, I'm your hyung. I'll pay." He waves down a waiter and does just that, ignoring Jungkook's weak attempts to change his mind. The two leave the restaurant side by side, the entrance door opening to a wall of icy air.
Jungkook hunches into himself, grabbing his beanie from his pocket and pulling it on roughly to cover his ears. Taehyung is already shivering beside him, and Jungkook steps closer to him, pressing himself up against his side. Taehyung doesn't protest.
Instead, Taehyung reaches out and grabs Jungkook's hand tightly, pulling it over and slipping their clasped hands into his pocket. Jungkook looks over at Taehyung, who just smiles sweetly at him. "I want to hold your hand until my cab arrives." Taehyung admits, quietly.
Jungkook's whole body seems to buzz with warmth from the contact. "Okay." He's happy to wait with Taehyung, he only has a short walk until the nearest entrance to the train station and the trains run late into the night. He watches Taehyung's face, nose and cheeks pinched red.
"Taehyung." Jungkook starts. Taehyung turns his head to meet Jungkook's eyes. "Yeah?" "I think I'd like to claim my prize now." Taehyung's eyes widen. "Oh. What would you like your prize to be?"
Jungkook moves so he's standing directly in front of Taehyung now, looking shyly at the other man. They're standing pressed together in the cold, hands still clasped in Taehyung's pocket. Jungkook's gaze flickers between Taehyung's eyes. "For my prize... I'd like you to kiss me."
"Oh." The air leaves Taehyung's lips in a white puff, the warmth touching at Jungkook's own face. Taehyung shifts on his feet, his hand tightening around Jungkook's as he leans in a little closer. "Yeah." He says, quietly. "I think I can give you that prize."
Jungkook's eyes close as Taehyung leans in close enough that his breath tickles Jungkook's lips. There's a pause then, a moment in time where everything seems to stop, the air around them stilling and the noise from the street dimming to a low buzz. Taehyung closes the distance.
;)
Taehyung's lips press so softly against Jungkook's. Jungkook's eyes are still closed as he leans into the contact, Taehyung's lips molding into his own in the dry press. Taehyung shifts back slightly, bodies still pressed together, and Jungkook unconsciously chases the movement.
He wants more. Jungkook's eyes flutter open to find Taehyung watching him, cheeks flushed red from the cold and from something more. Jungkook wets his lips, and watches Taehyung follow the movement. "Taehyung." Jungkook speaks, his voice quiet.
"Jungkook." Taehyung answers, his voice equally quiet. His breath puffs against Jungkook's face, a soft touch of heat against his already burning cheeks. He wants more. "That was the worst kiss I've had since I was 7." Jungkook says instead. Taehyung grins at him.
"Maybe I'm a bit rusty, then." Taehyung's grin turns sly. "Maybe we should do some practice, to bring my skills back up to muster." "Hmmm." Jungkook hums, pretending to think about it for a moment. Taehyung giggles, using his free hand to shove lightly at Jungkook's arm.
Jungkook breaks into a grin of his own. "Okay. I think I can agree to that." His grin fades into something stern. "On one condition, though." Taehyung immediately sobers, his hand squeezing Jungkook's in his pocket. "What is it?"
"You can never call me Jungkookie again." Jungkook says, straight faced. Taehyung immediately breaks into a laugh, leaning forward into Jungkook's space again to rest his head on Jungkook's shoulder, shaking with his giggles. "I don't know if I can promise that!"
"Then I guess we can't ever kiss again--" Jungkook begins to move away, but Taehyung uses his grip on his hand to pull him back in, wrapping an arm securely around his waist. Jungkook is officially held in place. "I don't know, I think I can convince you."
Jungkook cocks his head to the side, eyes dancing. "Oh really? How is that?" Taehyung leans back in again, so their faces are only inches apart. The tip of his nose bumps against Jungkook's. "I have a few tricks up my sleeve, Jeon Jungkook."
Taehyung once again closes the distance, his lips pressing against Jungkook's. Again, it's soft, until Taehyung's lips part and his tongue is licking at Jungkook's bottom lip. Jungkook opens for him immediately, sinking into the hold Taehyung has on him, gripping at his shirt.
Taehyung's grip on Jungkook tightens as Jungkook presses even more into him, wanting more contact. There's no one around them on the street, and only the neon lights are there to hear the soft moan that breaks Taehyung's lips and is swallowed by Jungkook almost immediately.
Jungkook is the one who breaks the contact this time, his chest threatening to burst at the overwhelming sensation coursing through him. He opens his eyes to take Taehyung in, his lips wet and red, curled up in a content smile. Jungkook is sure he looks about the same.
Taehyung squeezes their hands, still clasped together. A taxi pulls into the street beside them, headlights lighting up the area. Taehyung looks over at it and nibbles at his bottom lip, frowning slightly. Jungkook doesn't want to let go.
"Jungkook." Taehyung starts, turning back to meet his eyes. He looks uncertain suddenly, still nibbling at his bottom lip. "I think that's my taxi." "Yeah." Jungkook says. He doesn't let go. Doesn't step away. Neither does Taehyung.
Taehyung seems to be thinking something over, the thoughts heavy behind his eyes, and Jungkook just watches him silently, drinking in his warmth. "I don't usually do this, but--" Taehyung pauses. Licks his lips. Looks away from Jungkook. "Would you... like to come home with me?"
Jungkook isn't sure why the words affect him so much. He's heard them many times, said them himself, but right now there seems to be something so much more behind the words. Taehyung looks nervous, staring pointedly at the taxi instead of at Jungkook.
Jungkook thinks of the long train ride home, thinks of his dark apartment, of his cold sheets. Then he thinks of Taehyung, who is blushing furiously, his kiss still imprinted in Jungkook's mind, the sound he made still ringing in his ears-- The decision is easy.
"Yeah. Yes." He says. The taxi beside them sounds the horn in two short bursts, making them jump. Taehyung's head whips around to look at Jungkook, his expression one of surprise. "Really?" "Yes. Now let's get in the taxi before they leave us behind."
They clamber in to the back of the taxi, immediately feeling the relief to be out of the biting cold air. Taehyung greets the driver and begins telling him his address before he cuts off half way, suddenly looking panicked. "Wait. Jungkook."
"I completely forgot! But, I have a roommate, oh my god, Jungkook, I'm sorry, he's probably home right now--" Jungkook laughs at the panic on Taehyung's face. Taehyung stops talking, pouting at him. Jungkook shakes his head. "It's okay. We can go to my place instead."
"Are you sure?" Taehyung asks immediately. "Yeah. I live alone. And as long as you don't judge me for the mess, it should be fine." Jungkook looks a bit sheepish. "I haven't done housework in a while." Taehyung laughs then. "Okay. I promise not to judge you too hard."
Jungkook grins then, turning to the exasperated driver to relay his address. He settles back into his seat, pressing himself up against Taehyung's side, reaching over and grabbing his hand again. He'd missed the contact, and Taehyung smiles sweetly at him when he does.
The drive to Jungkook’s home is uneventful, and Taehyung uses the excuse of a bathroom break to freak out.
Jungkook, meanwhile...

That’s tonight’s update. Thank you for reading through! Next update will be up soon~ 💕 Please let me know if it was okay? Smut isn’t my strong suit so I would love to see your feedback!
"You're lucky we were close by, this could have been much worse." The fireman looks at Jungkook with narrowed eyes. "You should really be more careful." Jungkook shrugs sheepishly. His kitchen is still hazy with smoke, blackened remains all that is left of his electric hotplate.
There's no permanent damage to his apartment, thankfully, but he'd still triggered the smoke alarms and forced the whole complex to evacuate. Jungkook's neighbours kept glaring at him even after the all clear was given, and Taehyung has not stopped sniggering at him.
Jungkook thanks the firemen as they finally leave, ignoring the sight of his angry landlord and turning to Taehyung. He's wearing Jungkook's clothes, sweatpants and a t-shirt thrown on in haste, his hair still messy. "Sorry about breakfast."
Taehyung just shrugs. "At least you didn't burn the building down?" He offers. Jungkook manages a small laugh. "True, but I am not attempting to cook again. Why don't I just buy us something to eat?" "That's the best thing you've said all morning."
They dress properly, Taehyung in the same clothes as the night before, and Jungkook just throwing on jeans and another hoodie. And then they set out, Jungkook leading the way, his arm curled tightly around Taehyung's as they hurry down the street.
Taehyung settles him with a stern gaze when they arrive. The street is busy around them already, people walking in every direction, caught up in their lives. "Really." He says, voice flat. "You want to get ramen for breakfast." Jungkook looks over at him and grins. "Why not?"
Taehyung purses his lips. "Well, I suppose it's better than whatever you were trying to do earlier." "This one is guaranteed not to burn my house down." "I'm sold already. Let's go." The shop is small, a family run business that Jungkook frequents regularly.
The chef looks up from the cooking counter and smiles brightly when he sees them. "Jeon Jungkook! Long time no see!" "Hello, Mr. Kim." "Please sit down. I can have your favourite ready in no time. Should I make enough for your friend, too?" "Yes please. Thank you!"
Jungkook directs them to a table in the corner. The place is empty right now, but is usually packed the later it gets at night. Jungkook appreciates the privacy they have now, and smiles warmly at Taehyung across from him. "Mr. Kim makes the best ramen I have ever had."
"With a name like Kim, I expect the best." Taehyung grins. Jungkook snorts. "So, what are we going to eat, exactly? Your favourite?" "It's just his specialty 부대찌개. Trust me, it's great." Taehyung narrows his eyes at him. "It's not going to be too spicy, is it?"
Jungkook laughs at Taehyung's wary expression, his chair squeaking at he shifts. "Noooo, I promise. I couldn't handle that." "Good." Taehyung's expression doesn't change. "I'm still waiting for my body to reject me." Jungkook laughs again, the sound loud in the small space.
Taehyung's expression softens as he watches Jungkook try to control his giggles, hiding his face behind his hands in an attempt to reign himself in. He hasn't known Jungkook for long, but he feels so familiar that it's easy to forget that. There's an ease between them, a comfort.
It's that feeling that has Taehyung reaching across the table to grab both of Jungkook's hands, pulling them away from his face. Jungkook has settled himself, and is smiling at Taehyung, squeezing their now joined hands on the top of the table. "Hey, Jungkook..."
"What is it, Tae?" Taehyung swallows, the feeling of Jungkook's hands in his own warm and grounding. "I think you're really great." Taehyung smiles. "And I know we haven't known each other long, but... I'd like to know you more. I'd like to know everything about you."
Jungkook's eyes have widened impossibly large. Taehyung stops, watching him, waiting for his response. Jungkook swallows, his cheeks reddening, and he looks down at their hands. "You know I like you a lot too. I have for a long time, but my crush on you was surface level,"
"I knew about you, but I didn't know you for real. And when you agreed to meet up with me, and when we talked, and then kept talking,my crush only grew, you know? You're so good, Taehyung. I saw it from afar before, but now I get to see it up close. It's amazing. You're amazing."
Taehyung's smile has grown so big, his whole face has lit up with it. "Oh my god, I'm so glad you feel the same way. Because I really like you, and I... well. I wanted to ask you, actually." "Ask me what?" Their food arrives. Mr. Kim sets down a boiling pot between them.
He doesn't speak as he gives them their own bowls and chopsticks. Jungkook mumbles his thanks, still looking at Taehyung. Mr. Kim doesn't seem to mind, bowing as he leaves them be. Their hands are still clasped on the table, now only separated by their food.
Taehyung then just goes for it, the words tumbling from his lips. "I want to keep dating you, and knowing you, and I want to keep having your dick up my ass because, holy shit, that was great." Jungkook chokes on air. "What I'm saying, is I want you to be my boyfriend."
"Oh my god, Tae, you can't just say things like that!" Taehyung just shrugs, still watching Jungkook intently, whose whole face is bright red. "I mean, it's true." Jungkook shakes his head, a fond smile on his lips despite himself.
"No one has ever asked me to be their boyfriend like that before." Taehyung grins. "I like to make an impression." "Oh, trust me, I know." Jungkook grins too, but it softens almost immediately. "And the answer is yes. I'd love to be your boyfriend."
"Thank god. Because I'm starving, and this food looks amazing, and smells even better, and if I don't eat something right now I might pass out." Jungkook giggles as Taehyung lets go of their hands to grab his chopsticks and stir the pot that's between them.
Some time later...
Taehyung texts Jimin
